AWA VORTEX, February 27th, 2005, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Air Canada Centre
(The AWA flashes across the screen and a video package, accompanied by soft piano music, begins to play.)
...At a time where there is an influx of new blood...
(Match and interview footage from all the Rookie Brawl participants is shown.)
...where men will do anything to get where they think tehy rightfully should be...
(We see Andreas Lasiewicz beating Snake several weeks back, as well as interview footage from Poppa.)
...where a lack of trust leads to a lack of cooperation...
(We hear Draven Shadows and Paul Parker talk about what kind of a team they are.)
...where there is no limit for what you can achieve if you just work hard enough...
(Several scenes of Nathan Hawthorne-Lee and Maxx Skabb fighting are shown in quick succession.)
...where respect among men is seldomly seen...
(We hear Jack Happy and BlackJack talking about how they like and respect each other.)
...where the two of the most dominant forces battle it out for ultimate supremacy...
(We seen Low and Brian Williams battle it out at Hell On Earth.)
...Vortex will be a real turning point for those men...
(The sound of a screeching electric guitar ends the soft piano music and then the Vortex graphic appears on the screen. We
cut to the Air Canada Centre where huge fireworks go off as the sell-out crowd cheers on. Signs in the crowd read "Icon
please lose your voice", "NHL on strike" and "3-times, 3-times, 3-times!" We cut to our announcers at ringside.)
HS: "The second edition of AWA Vortex from Toronto, Ontario, Canada! My name is Herb Summers and I am joined by my colleague..."
FJ: "Frank Jackson! This has got to be heaven for these Toronto fans no less than four Canadian men, four multiple World
Champions will appear on Vortex tonight."
HS: "That's right. We have heard that Jeff Christianson is going to make a special appearance here tonight. Also, "The
Icon"John Williams is going to take on "The Superstar" Colin Baird."
FJ: "After a recruiting spree across North America, the AWA will feature FOURTEEN newly signed talents in its signature
Rookie Brawl. Fighting for the AWA Tag Team title will be The Forces Of Nature, The Immortals and the makeshift Championship
team of Draven Shadows and Paul Parker."
HS: "Andreas Lasiewicz, Snake and Poppa have all had some setbacks lately, but tonight they will get the chance to win a
shot at the AWA No Limit title. And speaking of the No Limit title, the No Limit Champion Nathan Hawthorne-Lee will take on
his arch rival, Maxx Skabb."
FJ: "And in a match that will surely be boring because those guys love each other so much, BlackJack will challenge either
Jack Happy or Drake Hyde for the US title, depending on who of them shows up."
HS: "Funny, Frank. Finally, THE main event. Low. Brian Williams. The World title. One on one on pay-per-view for the first
time. And let's not forget, Frank, that each and every match will have a special stipulation."
FJ: "A stipulation voted for by... the fans. And making the announcements what the fans voted for is our beloved interim
commissioner, the fianceé of Dave "The Rave" Santini... Lethal Louise!"
(The fans boo as Louise appears on the AWA Tron. Louise is sitting by herself in one of the Air Canada Centre's suites,
looking down at all the fans. She reaches to her right side and grabs her notebook, putting it on the small table in front of
her.)
LOUISE: "Good evening Frank, and Herb, too. Tonight will be a special night for all of you fans, because you will get the
opportunity to look at me throughout the show, before each match, as I will be the one to tell you what you voted for."
"The response to our online voting has been tremendous and I can tell you that it looks as if we will have a number of
surprise tonight."
FJ: "Sounds great to me, Louise. Excuse me, but I've just been informed that something is going on in the back."
(We fade to the parking lot. We see a limousine with a big "JC" on the side of it pull up. We see "Dark Warrior" Jeff
Christianson step out of the limousine. He seems to be talking to someone on his cell phone. He looks to be in his wrestling
jump suit. In the arena, the crowd gives a mixed reaction. You can now notice that he isn't walking with his crutches,
instead, he walks with a slight limp. We can hear some of his conversation.)
DW: "So my team of attornies is already here? Great. Things seem to be going as planned. Call you later, I just arrived
at the arena."
(The scene fades back to the arena as Jeff Christianson hangs his phone up and heads into the arena.)
FJ: "Jeff Christianson is here..."
HS: "Now what does he have planned?"
FJ: "Why did he ask for Parker and Paige to bring a lawyer?
HS: "I hope we'll answer all those questions and more later in the show. Right now, though, ladies and gentlemen, we will
take you to the back where "The Superstar" Colin Baird has some final words to say before his match."
(The camera cuts backstage to find Colin Baird sitting down in his locker room. Baird is seen sitting down on a bench and
preparing to lace up his boots.)
BAIRD: "I don't know, but for some reason I'm starting to have good vibes about tonight. Usually when I have these feelings,
something positive almost always happens. I mean, I had this same feeling prior to when I faced Jack Happy at Wrestlefest. I
had this same feeling when I faced Evan Spires at Hell-O-Ween. I had this same feeling prior to my match against Tre Wilson,
prior to my match for the AWA Hardcore title, and ironically all of those matches ended up with me being victorious. Sense a
pattern here anyone? What am I trying to say? Who knows, I'm just speaking what's in my heart. Saying what's on my mind. And
do you want to know what's on my mind? Victory."
"As the time draws nearer, I begin to realize that this upcoming match isn't just a typical day in the life of Colin Baird.
It isn't just another typical night. No... it's much more than that, or at least that's the sense in which I'm perceiving it.
Vortex marks the official beginning. Vortex indeed marks the beginning of a streak. Vortex marks the official streak that
will lead Colin Baird to the AWA World Heavyweight title. Forget what you've seen these past weeks, that was just a
preliminary. This is where it all begins. This is where it all counts. The state of mind is transparent. Clear as pure
spring water. I'm focused. I'm ready one hundred percent. All week, people have screamed my name in vain, hurling insults,
trying to rattle me. Trying to shake me."
"But It just won't happen."
"Now please do not interpret my confidence for arrogance, for a man of arrogance speaks without knowledge of his
capabilities while I on the other hand know mine all too well. Why shouldn't I be confident in my abilities? Wouldn't I be a
fool not to have faith in the very things that have brought this much success my way? Just sit back and take a look at where
they've taken me. To say the sky is the limit for me would completely be an understatement. It's setting restrictions. I hate
captivation. The possibilities for me are endless, and while a man like John Williams sheds his blood, sweat and tears for a
glimpse of the spotlight, I'll be doing the same but only to reach that level of Industrial Immortality. A couple of weeks
back, I damn near had it in my grasp but somehow it eluded me. Not this time. I won't let it."
"I'm so close to that level of industrial immortality I can feel it. It's a sensation that I wish John Williams or anyone
else could feel, but one I know that most of you are afraid to strive for. I too was like you once, I too was once satisfied
by the simple things, but once they are all acquired, then what's left? What is left for you to obtain that will bring about
that same feeling of satisfaction? This match may just be another match for a guy like John Williams. But this match can put
me that much closer to my goal. I'm almost there. I've almost reached the Industrial climax. In a galaxy full of stars,
I've made it my own personal goal to shine the brightest."
"Watch me glow... watch me illuminate. Tonight, against John Williams, just sit back... and watch me shine."
FJ: "Strong words from Baird."
HS: "And a lot of them, too. Fans, we will now take you back to AWA Sunday Night Shock one week ago in Vancouver, where
THIS transpired between John Williams and Colin Baird."
(We see Colin Baird talking with a member of the AWA security staff. They discuss the upcoming scheduled events at Vortex
and Baird proceeds to call his opponent, John Williams, a loser. Baird goes on for a while until he is brutally attacked
from behind. The attacker quickly takes Baird down and locks in a violent chicken wing crossface. We can now see that the
attacker is John Williams. Williams has a look in his eye that is starting to get quite familiar. The look is one of rage as
Williams continues to synch in the hold and he begins screaming at Baird. Eventually Williams lets Baird go and begins to
walk away. Baird gets back to his feet, slowly holding the shoulder and grimacing in pain. He is about to walk away when he
is pasted over the head with a shovel courtesy John Williams. Baird drops like he was shot and Williams stands over him. We
cut back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "This attack led to Baird being taken out of his match last week on Shock. So tonight, these two men have a score to
settle. Louise?"
LOUISE: "Yes, here we go."
(Louise presses a button on her computer.)
LOUISE: "At number 3, we have the Submission Match. Voted as number two by the fans is the Last Man Standing Match. That
means Colin Baird versus John Williams in a LOST VOICE MATCH!"
FJ: "Woah!"
HS: "The Lost Voice Match! That means that the loser of this match is not allowed to have his voice heard on AWA
programming for four weeks!"
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen this is going to be a
straight forward match, straight with the action."
FJ: "Only in the end, the loser will not be allowed
to speak for an entire month on AWA Television."
HS: "That’s right, a very unique stipulation to say
the least, but it may be the only regular match of the
evening, so it should be interesting."
FJ: "I wonder how there going to deal with not
getting to talk, there both confident and like to make
there points made and themselves heard."
(Those quite familiar guitar riffs by Joe Perry of
Aerosmith accompanied by Nelly's lyrical flow are
heard throughout the arena. The crowd stops in their
tracks and to the rafters, while "#1" plays throughout
the arena. The Superstar, stepping from behind the
curtain and saluting the crowd, down on one knee with
his hands in the air. Colin dances down the ring,
until making it to the ring. He hops up on the apron,
and swings his hips while grasping the ropes. He then
steps through the ropes, and begins to twirl in
circles in the ring, as the lights dim, with
'Superstar' spotlights on the ring. After spinning
with his arms out, and finds his place in the center
of the ring, and poses for the crowd. Golden pyro
shoots in a big X's to the rafters behind him, and the
fans hatred continuing to build. Shortly after this,
the lights are restored ...)
HS: "The ever so confident and charismatically
cocky, Collin Baird."
FJ: "You got to like the about a guy, but you got
to know him not getting to talk is gonna hurt him, its
got to be in the back of his head."
("Open your Eyes" by Alter Bridge hit’s the arena
as the massive John Williams steps out from behind the
curtains to a loud series of boos from the fans as he
just makes his way down to the ring, ignoring all of
them with determination and fury in his eyes.)
HS: "And not getting to talk is definitely in the
back of his head."
FJ: "Yea your right."
HS: "And boy is he angry here."
(Williams pulls the ropes and charges into the
center of the ring as Baird comes up to him talking
straight to his face. Williams yells back and the bell
sounds as Williams hit’s a huge and devestaing right
fist to Baird. Baird grabs his face and gets up as
John Williams charges and picks him up and rams him
into the corner. He backs off and yells at Baird and
then hit s a forearm to the face and he whips him
across to the other side. He charges but Baird gets
his foot up and it catches John Williams hard. John
grabs his face and stumbles back and Baird comes out
of the corner with a huge slap to is face and then a
knife edge chop. And another knife edge chop as the
crowd begins to woo as Baird backs Williams into the
ropes with chops.)
HS: "The chest of Williams is gonna be feeling that."
FJ: "Already getting red."
(Baird sends him into the ropes but John Williams
reverses it and sends Baird into the ropes and then
rams him down to the mat with a shoulder tackle.)
HS: "Oh, that is the power behind John Williams."
FJ: "He’s no freight train or anything."
HS: "Are you joking?"
FJ: "Yes... yes I am."
(Baird starts to get up but John helps him up
faster to his feet just so he can hit a huge chop
across his chest. Then another huge chop across his
chest as Baird clenches his chest, Williams hits one
more perhaps the hardest and Baird is in the corner.)
HS: "Jesus Frank, those might be the hardest chops
in the business today."
FJ: "Did you hear those things?"
HS: "The world heard those."
(Williams forearms Baird in the face and then
takes his arm back with a huge back elbow following.
He puts his forearm in the throat of Baird and grinds
it down.)
HS: "Blatant choke ref!"
FJ: "He’s really taking the stipulation to heart."
(The ref gets to a 4 count and then yells at
Williams who takes off the hold and snap mares Baird
out of the corner to the ground and then drops down
driving his knee into the back of Baird and locking in
a reverse chin lock. He clubs the face of Baird and
then pulls back harder on it but Baird begins to stir
kicking his leg on the mat and starting to turn.
Williams grabs both of Bairds arms and pulls them
back, stretching him out now. Baird starts to get up
turning and moving the hold around as he goes 180
degrees and hit’s a punch to the midsection, then
Williams hit’s a forearm across the upper back but
Baird attacks with a flurry of punches to the
midsection and then a big uppercut to the jaw. Baird
grabs his back and stretches back right before he
hit’s the ropes and comes back with a big clothesline
and knocks Williams down. Williams gets up again and
Baird meets him with a dropkick to the face. He jumps
on Williams for the cover…one…two)
HS: "Smart cover, but not enough, Good offense by
Baird."
FJ: "He took it to him there."
(Baird picks up Williams and applies a side
headlock, really wrenching it in as he jumps up and
grinds it down as he comes to the mat on his feet. He
hit’s a hard punch to the head and lets the headlock
loose to slam Williams down in the same motion with a
Russian leg sweep.)
HS: "Excellent combination by Baird."
FJ: "He’s laying it into Williams with the moves,
he’s playing smart by avoiding the power of John."
HS: "He goes for the win again."
(One... two... kickout. Baird picks him up and hits
multiple forearms to the face and then runs across
ring with a bulldog. He plants Williams and then goes
up top for some high risk and points to Williams body
but Williams pushes the refs into the ropes and Baird
drops on his third leg.)
FJ: "Ouch!"
HS: "Totally uncalled for by Williams."
(Williams gets up as the ref yells at him but he
shrugs him off and he runs at Baird with a jumping
clothesline that knocks him off the top to the
outside. Baird hits hard on the ground and Williams
follows soon after. He picks up Baird and whips him
into the barricade and then charges at him with a
clothesline sandwiching him there. He then whips him
from the barricade into the steel steps but Baird puts
his foot out and kicks the steps as he turns around
and grabbing his back with an arm charges Williams but
Williams catches him in his own momentum and power
slams him hard to the ground on the outside as the
fans all go ‘OOOOH’.)
HS: "Power slam on the outside!"
FJ: "That was a hard impact."
HS: "Geez."
(Williams kicks the head of Baird and then slides
under the ropes to break the 10 count and get back in
the ring. He smiles as the ref begins to count Baird
out. ONE... TWO... THREE... FOUR...)
HS: "Williams taking the easy way out."
FJ: "A win is a win... the rules didn’t specify!"
(FIVE... SIX... SEVEN... Williams walks to the ropes as
Baird is up on his knees and gets to the outside again
as he punches Baird in the face. Baird gets up to one
knee now though and punches John in the face, John
retaliates, Baird is up on his feet and he punches
John, and punches him again, and again. He rams John
back and into the steel post spine first and then
tosses him around in a circle and into the ring apron.
John comes out of it and Collin grasps him in his hold
and delivers him hard to the outside floor with a side
effect.)
HS: "Side effect on the outside!"
FJ: "More hard impact! There bodies are taking a
toll now."
(Baird gets up to the ‘OOOHS’ of the crowd as he
slides into the ring breaking up the 10 count, he gets
on the ring apron and perches up on the turnbuckles.
The ref grabs him and yells at him but Baird ignores
him as the ref starts to yell even more, and Baird
comes off of the middle turnbuckle with an elbow drop
onto the body of John Williams on the outside.)
HS: "My God Frank!!!"
FJ: "Now that is high risk Frank, doing all it
takes."
HS: "I don’t see how either of them are going to
answer the 10 count."
(Baird lays next to John Williams who isn’t moving
much at all, and he is moving subtley, he turns over
slowly, but surely pulling himself up taking his time
as the ref is counting them out, already at FIVE.
Baird gets up to his feet and stomps John Williams
then slides back into the ring. John Williams starts
to stand up as the ref starts the count again. Baird
hit’s the opposite ropes and charges for the other
side with a baseball slide but Williams turns and
catches the feet of Baird and slams them down on the
apron. He Drags him across to the post and looks
around getting ready to pull him into it but Baird
counters and pulls Williams face first into it as he
falls back. Baird slide out of the ring and punches
Williams in the face then uppercuts him and throws his
head on the barricade, he tosses him back under the
ropes and inside the ring.)
HS: "Great counter by Baird."
FJ: "More offense from the Superstar."
HS: "Williams is in a bad way."
(Baird follows up inside and picks up John
Whipping him into the ropes and back body dropping him
to the mat. John stays on the ground as Baird goes to
pick him up but John rolls him up into a small
package.ONE... TWO... THR... kickout.)
FJ: "Baird kicked out!"
HS: "John needs to capitalize."
(John starts to get up But Baird is up a little
faster as he boots john in the face and then drops a
leg drop across his neck. Baird goes for the cover,
ONE..TWO…kickout! Baird sits up and grabs the foot of
John Williams.)
HS: "Ankle lock!"
FJ: "That’s DW signature."
HS: "But it’s Baird repertoire."
(Baird locks in the hold tighter as Williams pulls
himself to the ropes but Baird kicks his back and then
drops down locking his feet around Williams trying to
go for an STF but Williams elbows real hard backward
to the face of Baird who gets up and Williams turns
over and uses both feet to kick Baird away knocking
him all the way to the ropes.)
HS: "What power from Williams, from his back to."
FJ: "Baird is coming back."
(Williams gets up and shoves Baird into the corner
he rams him multiple times with his shoulder and then
uppercuts him. He pulls him out of the corner favoring
the ankle some as he clubs the back of Baird and then
picks him up in a rib breaker.)
FJ: "That’s spinal Alignment!"
HS: "God what a move."
(Williams slams Baird across his knee once, then
gets up and slams him again across it, then hits his
ribs across his knee once more and then scoop slams
him hard to the mat.He grabs the leg of baird and
kicks the back of it and then stomps Bairds chest and
lifts him up by the elgs in the Canadian Maple leaf.)
HS: "He’s giving back some punishment."
(He wrenches back on the leaf, as baird tries to
reach the ropes dragging himself across the ring, but
Williams is to strong as he just drags him back to the
center and tugs back hard, and then just drops the
legs of Baird. He climbs up to the top rope as Baird
picks himself up and turns around just as John
Williams jumps off.)
HS: "Super kick!"
FJ: "NO he stopped it."
(Williams caught the super kick as he landed on his
feet he spins Baird around but Baird spins and hit’s a
huge right hand, then he puts Williams up on his
shoulders.)
HS: "Star Struck."
FJ: "Baird has it!"
HS: "COUNTER."
(Williams falls off behind Baird and spins him
around as he with all his might picks Baird over his
head in a military Press then drops him in a neck
breaker.)
HS: "That’s All She Wrote!"
FJ: "And it really is."
(Williams rolls over and makes the
cover... ONE... TWO... THREE!)
HS: "Baird can’t speak for a month!"
FJ: "And Williams gets a win and keeps his voice."
HS: "What a match-up."
(The camera switches to the back area of the Air Canada Centre and shows the AWA No Limit Champion Nathan Hawthorne-Lee
looking around for his partner, Snake. NHL is dressed in his Toxic Melody wrestling gear, also wearing his "Puck U" t-shirt
with his No Limit Title draped on his left shoulder. As he's walking, he spots someone carting around a stack of about six
glass tables. He stops the person and starts to check out the tables in preparation for the possible Triple Glass Table
Match. As he's looking at them, he spots Snake crossing the walkway. NHL yells out to Snake and Snake comes walking over to
NHL.)
NHL: "Hey, Snake, where have you been, man? I've been trying to call you for the past week and I haven't seen you
all week long. Are you avoiding me?"
SNAKE: "Look Nathan... I've been busy... with a few things... My mind... hasn't been... where it's... supposed to be...
this whole month."
NHL: "This is ridiculous. You know, I thought we were supposed to be a team here. The only thing that Toxic Melody has
done is help to boost the tag team career of The Immmortals and we managed to piss off a handful of people a month ago."
SNAKE: "Don't raise... your voice... to me!"
NHL: "What the hell are you going to do? Are you going to hit me? Are you willing to throw our friendship away because
I'm voicing my opinions? I thought we were a team?"
SNAKE: "I'm the boss... You follow... MY commands... I don't... answer to you!"
(Before NHL can answer, a monitor directly to the left of where they are standing starts to pick up a static feed. The
scene now fades in to show a clear image of Sarah shopping in a local Sears store. She picks up a certain familiar belt and
drapes it over her waist, the distorted voice picks up over the feed.)
VOICE: "Look at the beauty of Sarah Hawthorne. Look at her voluptuous breasts, her sweet ass, her perfect body, and her
angelic face. This is what the epitome of beauty is, not the silicone trash that walks the streets or infests the AWA like
a virus. It is such a shame that someone so godly beautiful has to be stuck with such an ignorant human being. You might
think that watching this lovely woman try some stuff on is a really nice turn on, let's just see what happens when she is
somewhere a little more private."
(The video then cuts to show Sarah leaving a bathroom stall, this time she's wearing that belt around her hips. This is
still taking place in that Sears, only the video is coming from inside of a stall, seeing Sarah's reflection in the mirror.
The video shows Sarah washing her hands and drying them off. She opens her purse and pulls out a make-up bag and starts to
apply some lipstick to her lips. She applies some blush to her cheeks and puts the bag away inside her purse. She opens her
outer white sweater to fully reveal that red t-shirt she has on underneath. She brushes off some loose make-up off her
shirt and then brings the sweater back over her chest.)
VOICE: "Look at the beauty of Sarah Hawthorne. Now you can really see it when I zoom in on the mirror. Look at her big,
sexy lips as she applies her lipstick. She is just so beautiful, but she is stuck with a worthless piece of life as a
husband. One day I will set her free. One day I will be with MY Sarah. Her beauty will be with me, for all eternity."
(The camera freezes on her face and the words "Heaven hath a hand in these events" - Richard II, Act V, Sc. 2 appear
along the bottom of the screen before the scene fades to black and then statics back to normal. NHL looks at the screen
and rips the No Limit title belt off his shoulder and gets ready to chuck it before Snake grabs his arm and tries to calm
him down.)
SNAKE: "Calm down... Nathan... No need to... get angry... And I can see... his point..."
NHL: "What's the supposed to mean? Are you behind this? Are you the one filming my wife?"
SNAKE: "If I... wanted Sarah... I would take... her as I please."
NHL: "You burned son of a bitch! You take that back now!"
SNAKE: "What are you... going to do... about it? You are... no threat... to me... When I win... the triple threat match...
I will take... that title from... you..."
NHL: "You want a preview? I'll show you a preview you son of a bitch!"
(NHL tosses his title belt at Snake. With Snake being distracted, NHL spears Snake to the concrete ground. NHL starts to
punch Snake in the face, but Snake fights back and knees NHL in the groin. NHL rolls off Snake and Snake picks up NHL and
kicks him in the stomach. NHL lets out a sharp scream from the impact of the kick and Snake hooks NHL's head under his
right arm. Snake lifts NHL for a suplex, but NHL blocks it. Snake grunts and tries again, but NHL blocks it with a hook of
Snake's leg. NHL punches Snake in the stomach, and knocks the wind out of Snake. Snake tries to shake free, but NHL lifts
Snake up into the air and delivers the SlapShot to Snake. With Snake lying on the ground, NHL picks up his No Limit title
and begins to walk away, but notices the stack of glass tables. He looks at them and then down at Snake. He shakes his head
no, but then closes his eyes and grits his teeth. He opens them and looks back down at Snake. He drops the belt and drags
Snake to the tables. NHL picks Snake up in a powerbomb and slams Snake through a stack of 5 glass tables. Snake's body
crashes through the tables, with a three inch gap between each layer. Glass flies all over the place and Snake finally
comes to a stop on the moveable pallet. The steel legs fall outward and land on the ground. There is blood beginning to
slowly pool out from under Snake's lacerated body. Security and AWA agents come out to restrain NHL. NHL picks up his No
Limit title and slowly walks away. EMTs pass NHL as he walks away.)
NHL: "In case anyone wants to know what just happened, I just got frustrated with Snake's lies and antics. No longer
will he boss me around and treat me and my wife like dirt. And this is also a message to Andreas Lasiewicz, Poppa, and Maxx
Skabb. This is what awaits anyone when they face me for MY No Limit Championship."
FJ: "Oh my! What a powerful statement by NHL. I think that Snake is dead!"
HS: "I just think he's badly injured. Nevertheless, it doesn't look like Snake's going to be wrestling in that triple
threat match tonight, and if he does, it doesn't look like he's going to win. He took a major powerbomb from NHL through
those glass tables and if this is the outcome of someone going through glass tables, then I just hope that the fans picked
that Triple Glass Table Match!"
"But the has to go an, AWA fans, and tonight is the first one on one pay-per-view meeting between the six-time AWA World
Heavyweight Champion Low and the two-time Champion Brian Williams. However, this is certainly not their first meeting ever.
Let us take you back in time."
(A graphic on our screen says "AWA Overpower 2003 - Low vs. Williams vs. Bawm vs. Zeal".
Williams lifts the bloody Low high up over his head and drops him down with the Last Rise! Half the fans boo and half
the fans cheer, but Williams doesn't care either way and locks Low into the Struggle Within! The referee is with them again,
asking Low if he wants to quit, but Low shakes his head. However, it looks like Low is about to pass out from the Struggle
Within. With his right hand he grabs the microphone. Between choking and coughing, we hear him say "I... q-", but again he
is interrupted by the sound of steel on skull, as Adam Bawm breaks the Struggle Within up with a chair shot to the back of
Williams' head.)
HS: "This was the first time these two men ever faced each other on pay-per-view, yet neither man walked away victorious.
Anyway, we will go back to Lethal Louise to tell us what the fans voted for for the next match."
(We rejoin Louise in her suite.)
LOUISE: "Well, we all just saw what Nathan Hawthorne-Lee did to Snake and I have to tell you and the fans that Snake will
NOT take part in the match to determine a contender for the No Limit title. Needless to say, Mr. Hawthorne-Lee will have to
face some consequences as I will not allow anybody to screw with the show that I set up!"
FJ: "What does that mean, Louise?"
LOUISE: "You'll see soon enough, Frank. Anyway, Andreas Lasiewicz versus Poppa for a shot at the No Limit title is up
next and coming it at place number 3 is the Servant Match. At number 2 we have the Steel Cage Match, so the stipulation for
Lasiewicz versus Poppa will be the STREET FIGHT!"
(The fans cheer the announcement.)
FJ: "The match stipulation, I think, was a fitting choice. The No Limit Title itself is a hardcore title with that emphasis on pinfalls and submissions counting in the ring. These three competitors will have the opportunity to test those limits in this Street Fight to really determine if they have what it takes to fight for the No Limit Championship."
HS: "Exactly correct Frank. The winner of this match will get a shot at the No Limit Champion at a point and time decided by AWA officials."
FJ: "That match would be against whoever the No Limit Champion is at that time. Tonight, NHL will defend that title against Maxx Skabb in either a Triple Glass Table Match, a First Blood Match, or a Boiler Room Brawl."
HS: "There are so many unknowns at this point in time with the No Limit division right now, but I'm sure that after this match, we will have half of the questions answered."
("Big Poppa," by Notorious B.I.G. plays and bright white explosions set off on the entrance ramp. The crowd begins to boo heavily as Poppa, with his arm around the lovely Tiffany, walks onto the entrance ramp wearing street clothes of white basketball shoes and a pair of blue jeans. Poppa is also wearing a crimson T-shirt with the sleeves cut-off and in off-white cursive letters it reads "Epitome of Physical Fitness" on the front.)
FJ: "Well, here comes Poppa, with the lovely and virtuous Tiffany at his side. It's odd that Poppa is wearing street clothes as compared to his wrestling gear. I guess he had a gut feeling that the match would be a street fight."
HS: "I don't know about that Frank, but what I do know is that there are so many possibilities with this match. If Poppa could pick up the win, he would face either NHL or Maxx Skabb. Maxx and Poppa have a storied history, but it would be interesting to see Poppa fight NHL for the No Limit Title."
(Poppa jumps up onto the ring apron as Tiffany, wearing a black mini-skirt, a low-cut sleeveless pink blouse, large hoop earrings, and black high heels, walks up the ring steps. Poppa climbs through the ropes and poses for the crowd to a mass of boos, while Tiffany bends over seductively through the ropes and into the ring. The arena darkens slowly. An air siren begans to sound, with green spotlights shooting in all directions as an infamous slogan is revealed on the big screen:
"COME N PLACE YA BETS!!"
"Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n' Roses suddenly thunders from the PA system. The Gambit steps out from behind the curtain, a traditional cigarette in his mouth as he stalks his way down to the ring, and he cracks a cheeky grin at the mixed reaction from the crowd.)
HS: "And here comes "the Gambit" Andreas Lasiewicz. As many people know, Andreas was the one who unified the Hardcore and Television Titles at Wrestlefest and became the first ever No Limit Champion. He lost it a week later and every attempt since then has been unsuccessful."
FJ: "I'm sick and tired of hearing his lame little battle for the No Limit Championship. My take on it all is that he got lucky and then his luck ran out, plain and simple. But, if Andreas can pull this one off, it would be another yawn to watch him lose to the great NHL. But, if Maxx was to pull off the upset tonight, Maxx Skabb vs. Andreas Lasiewicz wouldn't be that bad either."
(He circles the ring, staring down Poppa, and then he rolls in and stands on the turnbuckle surveying the fans with a grin. He hops off and stops for a minute receiving the reaction of all the fans. He then walks slowly over to the top rope before perching himself on the top rope raising his right arm in the air as the crowd screams. Andreas hops down and pulls out his cigarette from his mouth and puts it out on his jeans. He brushes some of the ashes off of his green "Place ya Bets" t-shirt. The referee calls for the bell and the match is officially underway. Poppa and Andreas circle each other. Poppa stops in his tracks and flips off Andreas. The Gambit gets physically annoyed and charges after Poppa. The two lock up in the middle of the ring. The larger Poppa is able to power out of the head and elbow tie up and he wraps his arms around Andreas' body and delivers a belly-to-belly suplex.)
FJ: "Wow! A wrestling move in a street fight!"
HS: "Yeah, they're common in wrestling matches. Because that's what people do, they wrestle."
(Andreas picks himself up and looks for Poppa, but he's nowhere to be seen. Andreas focuses outside the ring and finds that Poppa is grabbing a chair. Poppa has the chair in hand and he's walking towards the ring, but Andreas runs towards Poppa, so Poppa puts the chair up, only Andreas does a baseball slide to Poppa, knocking Poppa down to the ground outside the ring.)
HS: "You could lose some teeth with that one."
FJ: "WAAABAALAAMMMM!!"
(Andreas slides out of the ring and picks up Poppa from the mat. Andreas whips Poppa towards the ring steps, but Poppa reverses, sending the Gambit into the ring steps. When Lasiewicz collides with the steps, they explode into two pieces near ring side. Poppa walks towards Lasiewicz and stomps on him. Lasiewicz tries to cover up, but Poppa keeps on stomping on him. Poppa gets sick of stomping after about ten times and bends down to pick up the injured opponent. Poppa kicks Andreas in the stomach and picks him up onto his shoulders. He swings the Gambit down and delivers a fireman's carry slam onto one of the ring steps pieces. Andreas lands with a loud thud and he quickly rolls off in lots of pain, holding his back.)
HS: "The impact from that move was bone chilling."
FJ: "WAABAALAAMMMM!!"
HS: "What the hell is that?"
FJ: "I dunno...but I like it."
(Poppa walks up to Andreas, but Andreas turns to his side and kicks Poppa right in his right knee cap. Poppa backs up a few steps, favoring his right knee. Andreas gets up and DDT on the bent over Poppa. Andreas walks over to a steel chair, still favoring his back. He picks up the chair and brings it back over to Poppa. When he turns around, Poppa has a set of ring steps in his hands and he lunges them forward onto Andreas and hits the chair which runs into his head, knocking the Gambit down to the match once again.)
FJ: "Man, it seems that everyone has no luck with chairs today."
HS: "No random word?"
FJ: "WAAABAALAAMMMM!!"
HS: "I give up."
(Poppa tosses the ring steps into the ring and he digs under the ring and he finds a wooden table and drags it out from under the ring. He slides that into the ring and he walks over to the still Andreas Lasiewicz, who is still on the padded concrete. Poppa picks Andreas up by the head and he rolls him into the ring. Poppa grabs the chair that Andreas dropped and he tosses that into the ring as well. Tiffany walks over to Poppa and gives him a kiss on the cheek, but Poppa doesn't seem fazed by it. Tiffany walks away and sits on the announcer's table, watching the match.)
FJ: "Woohoo! Tiffany has graced us with her presents."
HS: [sarcastically] "Yeah, I'm really glad that she's here..."
FJ: "No, presents...her assets. Look at that fine behind."
HS: "Get your head out of the gutter before she hears you and slaps you silly!"
FJ: "She's always welcome to slap me silly."
(Poppa rolls into the ring and picks up the chair. He waits for Andreas to get to his feet, stalking him with that chair. Andreas gets up, a little wobbly and he turns around. Poppa swings at Andreas' head with the chair but he misses. When Poppa turns around, Andreas hits Poppa with the Peace Maker...)
HS: "Andreas hit the Peace Maker! Will he be able to capitalize on this one?"
FJ: "I don't know, once he hit it, he fell straight to the mat like a dead weight. It looks like he's crawling to Poppa. Wait, he is! The Gambit is crawling towards Poppa."
HS: "He's draping that arm over Poppa, but did he take too much time to do this? Time will tell now. The referee is making the count! ONE...TWO...THR- Oh MY! Poppa just kicked out at the last second. The hand almost hit the mat."
FJ: "Yeah, but I know that Poppa knows what's on the line. He knew that he could have that chance to face the No Limit Champion, and if he didn't kick out, Andreas Lasiewicz would, yet again, have that chance. Poppa knows what's on the line, and I think he's got the guts and determination to win the match."
(Poppa rolls to his stomach and Andreas is kneeling on one knee while trying to get his bearings. He stands up and notices the ring steps. He walks towards them, but he then sees the table. Andreas looks at the table and decides to walk over to it and set it up. He tips the table on its side and starts to pull the legs out. Meanwhile Poppa gets up to his feet and he walks over to the ring steps and picks them up for the second time in the match. He notices that Andreas is setting up the table so he comes from behind and tosses the ring steps at Lasiewicz. They hit him in the back of the head with such force that they stairs and Andreas fall out of the ring. The stairs hit the barricade and Andreas falls out of the ring and his the fround with a hard impact.)
HS: "I have never seen anything like that happen. Poppa threw those steps right at Lasiewicz and the both went right out of the ring and into ringside."
FJ: "What an amazing match. This is one worthy of the No Limit Championship. I would say that either winner would be suitable opponent for the No Limit Champion, whoever he may be."
(Poppa climbs out of the ring and picks up the ravaged body of Andreas Lasiewicz. He whips him towards the ring pole, but Andreas barely gets a reversal off, sending Poppa face first into the ring pole. Poppa lands hard on the ground and Lasiewicz is barely able to stand from the recent abuse. He stumbles over to Poppa and picks him up. Andreas give Poppa a side Russian leg sweep and both competitors are down on the mat outside the ring.)
FJ: "Man, the punishment these two are dishing out to each other is just amazing."
HS: "It seems that most of this match is spent lying down on the ground."
(Both men start to roll around on the floor. Poppa gets up slowly and rests on the ring apron. Andreas is on his feet and stumbling to get inside the ring. Andreas gets into the ring and wearily starts to set up the table. Andreas rolls back out of the ring, a little bit more control of his actions and runs towards Poppa, who just rolled back into the ring. Once Poppa is in the ring, he waits for Andreas to get in. Andreas slides into the ring, and runs at Poppa. Poppa side steps Andreas and hits a hip toss on Andreas, who lands on the mat, causing the table to bounce. Poppa picks up Andreas and rolls him onto the table. Andreas starts to fight back. Poppa punches Lasiewicz, but he blocks the punch and punches Poppa in his stomach. Poppa reels back a few steps, enough room for Andreas to get off the table. He runs towards Poppa and attempts a clothesline, but Poppa ducks. Andreas turns around, but Poppa kicks Andreas in the stomach and delivers a suplex right onto the chair in the ring.)
HS: "This is a good, close street fight."
FJ: "I'd say. This is a good back and forth battle, and it looks like no one has the advantage yet, though Poppa has taken the Gambit out for the time being."
(Poppa stomps on Andreas and forces him off the chair. Poppa holds the chair and waits for Andreas to get up to his feet. With Andreas stirring around, Poppa starts to pace back and forth. Andreas gets to his feet, holding his back and he turns around, and that's when Poppa strikes. He hits Andreas in the head with the chair so hard, that the back support flies off and the seat dents around his head. Andreas lands on the mat and there is some blood pouring from the his forhead.)
HS: "That shot to Andreas' head caused the chair to break and dent at the same time. And that sound it made, it...it...it was just sickening!"
FJ: "WAABAALAAMMMM!!"
HS: "What does that mean?"
FJ: "I'll think of something one day."
(Poppa picks up Andreas by his bloody head. Andreas' face is covered in blood and is dripping on the mat. Poppa puts Lasiewicz's bloody head between his legs, bloodying his jeans, and picks up Andreas in a powerbomb. Poppa walks over to the table.)
FJ: "Holy Crap! That was the most powerful Couger Bomb I have ever seen! That table just disintegrated on impact!"
HS: "Poppa is going for the cover here! ONE...TWO...THREE!!! That's it. Poppa won the match!"
FJ: "Not only that, but now he's the Number One Contender for the No Limit Championship. He will go on to face the winner of the No Limit Title Match tonight."
(We cut to a large park buzzing with people all going about their business. The camera focuses on a single man sitting on
one of the many park benches. A baggy style of blue jeans and a Dallas Mavericks shirt cover his form. Long blonde hair runs
to his shoulders but not into his face. Clean shaven and a smile on his face he looks up at the camera.)
MAN: "I watch the men and women of the AWA make a mockery of everything good and holy in this world. You have those who
care only for destruction and chaos, and others yet who only want to humiliate those they deem unworthy. You have some who
use their past and memories as fuel to hate and hurt and those who try to hide from their memories in some attempt to be
righteous. No one truly understands what it's like to use your memories to fuel you for a greater good, so I will teach them."
(The man slowly gets up, one hand combing through his blonde hair to keep it out of his face. One foot after the other
he begins to walk through the park, the camera in front of him.)
MAN: "My name is Jonathan Winter, also known as "The Untouchable". Hear that name and remember it, gentlemen. Your reign
of pain and terror has come to an end. Remember they can call you names, they can hurt your body, but memories are Untouchable."
(Jonathan stops and then and stares directly into the camera with the camera focused solely on the two intensely ocean
blue eyes as the scene fades.)
HS: "AWA fans, next month the passing of Adam Bawm has its one year anniversary. As we take you back in time to one of the
most crucial matches in AWA history, you can listen to Adam Bawm on commentary. This match coincidentally also took place
right here in Toronto."
(A graphic says "Sunday Night Shock, 02/08/2004, Low versus Williams".)
(Williams pulls Low up and then hits another choke slam. However, he grabs Low legs on his way down and applies the
Struggle Within! The crowd goes nuts as Low is now in serious danger to lose this match.)
HS: "Williams has smartly worked over Low's back throughout the match and now he has applied the Texas cloverleaf part
of the Struggle Within!"
FJ: "Yeah, but Low never taps. I can't imagine him giving up now."
AB: "Well, I made him say 'I quit' at Last Man Standing, remember?"
(This time not, however, as Low fights Williams' attempt at making him tap out. Low is able to pull out one of Williams'
legs from under him, causing him to fall to the mat. Williams, though, holds on more or less and drives his other knee into
Low's lower back, still bending his back in an unhealthy angle. Low, however, has applied an ankle lock to Williams' other
leg.)
AB: "What's this supposed to be, huh?"
HS: "Low and Williams are simultaneously applying submission holds to their weakened body parts."
(Both men are screaming in pain while the crowd is now louder than at any point during the show. Williams drives his
free knee even deeper into Low's back, while Low twists Williams' ankle to the point where it looks as if it could snap
any second. Suddenly, BOTH men tap out!)
AB: "What?"
FJ: "Both men tapped out at the same time!"
HS: "This never happened before in the AWA!"
(The referee calls for the bell and both men release their holds. The fans are confused, as is the referee. The
timekeeper hands him the World title belt as he talks to the ring announcer.)
AB: "Now what?"
HS: "The referee is telling the ring announcer his decision, so I assume we are going to hear the official word any
second now."
RING ANNOUNCER: "Ladies and gentlemen, both men have simultaneously tapped out and thus submitted on the match.
Therefore the referee declares this match a draw."
(We cut back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "This match, a Street Fight, was part of the reason why the AWA was split into two brands almost exactly one year ago.
Later tonight, we will take you to the second part of that saga."
FJ: "And by far not the final part, as it turned out. Anyway, up next is the AWA Rookie Brawl, and Louise, what have the
fans decided that this match should be?"
(Cut back to Louise, who is now sipping on a glass of champagne while looking at her computer.)
LOUISE: "First of all, let me say that I have done a good job recruiting all those newcomers to the AWA. Without me, none
of this would have happened."
(The fans boo Louise's attempt at being modest.)
LOUISE: "Right, right. Anyway, we have four stipulations for this match and at number 4 we have the 2nd rope Battle Royal.
At number 3 we have the Lumberjack Battle Royal. The fans voted number 2 to be the traditional top rope Battle Royal,
therefore, the winning match type is the PINFALL & SUBMISSION BATTLE ROYAL! In order to eliminate an opponent, you will have
to pin him or make him submit!"
HS: "A unique concept we have rarely, if ever, seen before! We’re not going to waste anytime, because we still have a huge show for you guys, and up next is the return of the Rookie Brawl, VORTEX style."
FJ: "Personally, I voted for the pinfall and submission, because I think it’ll be the best gauge to see which of these rookies is the cream of the crop!"
(Pantera’s ‘Cowboys From Hell’ hits the P.A. and he comes out to a mixed reaction, as some Canadian fans are booing the Kentucky native because of his nationality.)
HS: "Here comes the ‘veteran’ of the group. Cynder has been put into this match after coming off a long stay on the DL. He’s traditionally a tag contender, and, as most of you know, is a former tag champion with his partner, Hellraisin’ Holly."
FJ: "However, he hasn’t had too much success since his return, losing last week to Paul Parker in the match that would have made him a tag champion once again."
HS: "Not quite true, though, because win or lose, he said he would not have competed with Draven Shadows. There were some rumors going around that he pulled a Vince Carter in that match, and didn’t really show up."
FJ: "Shhh, Herb. You can’t say that name in Canada."
(Just as Cynder reaches the ring, ‘Vengeance’ by Yngwie Malmsteen hits and the fans erupt in instant boos.)
FJ: "Looks like they’re still upset over Cerberus’ victory over local favorite, XTJ last week in Montreal."
HS: "They’re probably more upset about the fact that he tried to permanently injure XTJ last week with a Howler DDT, when the kid was unconscious."
(Cerberus makes his way, quickly to the ring.)
FJ: "Wow, they aren’t wasting anytime in the back, are they!"
HS: "Well, there are 15 competitors in this match."
FJ: "I thought there were only 14?"
HS: "I was told there was a surprise entrant."
FJ: "Who told you that? They always leave me in the dark. I’m calling my agent."
(‘The Taste of Ink’ by the Used hits and Stevo now emerges from the back. Dirty isn’t with him.)
HS: "For those of you wondering, only legal match participants are allowed to the ring at all times, or a wrestler will be disqualified."
(Stevo makes his way to the ring to the normal mixed American reaction and then AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ hits and the fans all erupt at once in cheers.)
HS: "Whoa, this place just lit up!"
FJ: "They’re so biased here in Canada."
HS: "Terry James is a local legend and a hometown hero."
(James makes his way to the ring, giving quick high fives to the fans on his way down. As he slides into the ring and flashbulbs go off, the place erupts even louder as ‘Chapter Four’ hits.)
HS: "And here comes James’ partner, fresh off his 18th birthday! It’s X-Treme Jeff!"
FJ: "XTJ may have a score to settle with Cerberus after last week."
HS: "I’m interested to see how the new tag team of XTJ and James work together in this match."
(The fans begin an X-T-J chant that drowns out ‘Beautiful People’ and ‘Open Our Eyes’. Hollywood and Mike Phoenix have both made it to the ring before they finally begin to die down.)
HS: "This place is great! You have to love the AWA fans."
FJ: "I’m sorry, Herb. I can’t hear you. I think I’m going deaf."
(‘Yeah’ hits next and the fans begin to dance and sing along as Jason Ross emerges from the back to another traditional American reaction.)
HS: "Ross is an ex-Marine and he could be a wildcard in this match."
FJ: "Anyone could be, Herb. For several of these, this is their AWA debut!"
(Nickleback hits next, as ‘Figured You Out’ plays and Ocelot makes his way to the ring. Then, ‘Mane with Sensitivity’ plays and JAG follows suit. ‘Legend Reborn’ by Hammerfall hits and Scott Lotus makes his way to the ring next. The Seattle native climbs to one of the turnbuckles in the ring, taking in the thousand of fans.)
HS: "Could Scott Lotus win the match?"
FJ: "We’ll just have to wait and see."
HS: "Or maybe it will be Brian Stevens?"
(Bury Your Dead’s ‘The Color of Money’ hits and Brian Stevens makes his way out. He immediately gets booed by jawing with the crowd.)
HS: "This isn’t the Sensation’s first trip to Toronto."
FJ: "They sure know when to NOT like someone, don’t they?"
(‘Unforgiven’ hits and the 175 pound Tragedy makes his way to the ring.)
HS: "This kid hails from not too far away Buffalo, New York. What can he bring to the AWA table?"
FJ: "Obviously he needs to bring a sandwich. That guy is as thin as a rail!"
(Tragedy makes his way to the ring and then ‘I Am An Anti-Hero’ hits as the fans again begin to boo. Frank ‘The Standard’ Schmidt emerges from the back and conducts them on with his hands, enjoying their jeers.)
FJ: "This is who my money is on. He’s the most experienced fighter of the lot, and overall one badassed dude."
HS: "But MMA is much different than wrestling, and I think Schmidt will find that out tonight!"
FJ: "So, is this it?"
HS: "Actually, just one more to go. The surprise entrant."
(Schmidt makes his way to the ring and his music stops. The fans are confused as to why the match hasn’t started, and look up onto the entrance ramp as the referee does. The other competitors are themselves confused.)
FJ: "Who is it going to be?"
(Suddenly, ‘O Canada’ hits and the entire arena hits their feet, singing along.)
HS: "What’s he doing out here?"
FJ: "He was fired!"
(The fans cheer loudly for Jacques A’Mer on the entrance ramp, waving a Canadian flag.)
HS: "Is HE the 15th entrant?"
FJ: "I think so, Herb."
HS: "That doesn’t make any sense though?"
(A’Mer begins to make his way to the ring when suddenly, from the back, six security guards bum rush him. A’Mer looks behind him and takes off, heading toward the ring. He slides in and then promptly runs through and slides out the other side, climbing into the crowd. The guards chase after, but the fans, coincidentally, are blocking their way, and slowly moving out of the way. Moments later, A’Mer has disappeared into the crowd.)
HS: "What was that about?"
FJ: "I don’t know… BUT THERE’S THE BELL!"
(Some of the wrestlers, namely Mike Phoenix and Johnny Hollywood, stare out, still confused. Cynder grabs Hollywood and XTJ grabs Phoenix and they are both whipped into the opposite ropes. Meanwhile, the other ten men begin brawling it out all over the ring. Hollywood and Phoenix recoil back into the arms of Cynder and XTJ.)
HS: "SIDE EFFECT!"
FJ: "INCYNDERATOR!"
HS: "XTJ just caught Phoenix off guard with the Side Effect."
FJ: "And Cynder nailed Hollywood with his finisher. Both men are going for covers."
(All the other men haven’t realized what has happened in such short time and the referee counts along with the fans. ONE!... TWO!... THREE!)
HS: "And Phoenix is eliminated just like that!"
FJ: "And so is Hollywood."
(The referee orders both men out of the ring, as they look on confused and dejected. Inside the ring, Frank Schmidt is brawling with Ocelot, nailing him with rights and lefts, in vicious punches. He backs Ocelot into the corner and starts wailing away at him with mixed martial arts moves. Ocelot is beaten back and forth, right and left, unable to fight off the blows. Schmidt takes a step back and WHAM! Nails Ocelot with a huge running knee. Ocelot falls face first and the referee checks on him. The ref waves his arms over to say that Ocelot is knocked out.)
FJ: "Haha, I told you Schmidt was going to win!"
HS: "And Ocelot has been eliminated!"
FJ: "I thought this was pinfall and submission only?"
HS: "It is, but all normal rules apply. I think, actually, A’mer has been counted out as well! So, we’re just into a minute in this match and already four men have been eliminated!"
FJ: "Make that five!"
(Cynder was brawling with Cerberus when suddenly, from behind, Brian Stevens rolls him up in a school boy. Cerberus laughs and then holds down Cynder’s legs in a double pin. Three seconds later, Cynder is eliminated.)
HS: "And the veteran is out of the match!"
FJ: "He was double teamed! What a pinfall!"
(Cynder tries to plead his case but the referee won’t hear it. He’s forced to leave the ring and does so very reluctantly. Meanwhile, XTJ and Terry James have teamed up against Frank Schmidt. Tragedy and Jag square off as well, showing one another lots of respect. When Stevens climbs to his feet, he meets with Cerberus, toe to toe, but suddenly both men are taken down by a double flying clothesline from Stevo. The fans cheer loudly at this, as well as for XTJ and Terry James, who just landed a double flapjack on Schmidt.)
HS: "There’s the teamwork I was talking about."
FJ: "They’re cheating. This is supposed to be every man for himself!"
(Tragedy is getting the better of Jag, and has just landed a thundering spine buster. Tragedy then rolls clear and the fans OOH and AHH suddenly, as Jason Ross leaps from the turnbuckle.)
HS: "450 SPLASH! WHAT A MOVE!"
FJ: "Wow, pretty impressive. These rookies aren’t holding anything back."
HS: "And here’s a pin."
(ONE!... TWO!... THREE! The fans give Ross a huge round as JAG is eliminated. JAG rolls out of the ring then looks up at Jason and nods in respect.)
HS: "So with two minutes gone by, five men have already been eliminated. This match is moving at lightning speed."
FJ: "Who’s going to be next?"
(During all this, Stevens and Cerberus have climbed to their feet and begun brawling. Stevo and Scott Lotus are circling one another, in Lotus’ first real action of the evening.)
FJ: "Whoa, who is this kid?"
HS: "Scott Lotus has managed to avoid the action thus far."
FJ: "Haha, a chicken!"
HS: "No, it’s a smart tactical move, especially in a match like this one! Stay away from the action and you can’t be eliminated!"
(The more experienced Stevo chops Lotus across the chest. He chops him back into the turnbuckle where he begins to work him over with forearms. Meanwhile, Frank Schmidt has managed to break up the double team with an eye gouge to Terry James, behind the referee’s back. XTJ is forced to take on Schmidt one on one. The young kid whips Schmidt into the ropes and on the way back hits a hurricanrana to the jubilation of the fans.)
HS: "Hurricanrana by XTJ!"
FJ: "Frank Schmidt is out."
HS: "XTJ is celebrating too much here, he needs to watch out!"
(Cerberus breaks away from Stevens, seeing an opening, and charges at XTJ. Terry James tries to intervene, shoving XTJ out of the way, only to be caught by Cerberus’ big boot. Terry James lays flat on the mat from the impact.)
HS: "Big boot from Cerberus! Terry James just tried to save his partner!"
FJ: "And he paid the price. He’ll learn to mind his own business."
HS: "He sacrificed himself, Frank. That’s what true teamwork is about."
(XTJ charges at Cerberus to avenge his partner, but is suddenly grabbed from behind by the arm of Frank Schmidt, around his throat.)
HS: "Guillotine from Schmidt!"
FJ: "That looks painful!"
HS: "And Terry James is forced to fend for himself."
FJ: "He doesn’t look too much like fending after taking that boot to his temple."
(Sure enough, Cerberus picks up the out cold James, and then taunts the crowd, who boo loudly as James is a Toronto fan favorite. A moment later, THUD, James hits head first on the mat.)
HS: "Howler DDT!"
FJ: "And here’s a pin."
(XTJ struggles to break free to save his partner, but is unable, and Terry James is counted for the 1..2..3!)
HS: "And just like that, hometown hero Terry James has been eliminated!"
FJ: "There’s only one Canadian left, Herb!"
HS: "OH MY GOD!"
(All the while that has been happening, Stevo has been assaulting Scott Lotus. Lotus has managed to end up outside of the ring on his own accord, trying to regain his composure. Stevo will have none of this, however, and has hopped up onto the nearest turnbuckle. The fans gasp as he is about to leap off for the Aviator. But suddenly, from behind, he gets an extra push from Brian Stevens, and Stevo isn’t able to hit the move. He lands hard on his back, outside of the ring.)
FJ: "A little payback from Stevens!"
HS: "Stevo just landed on his back onto that thin mat! Only an inch separates him from concrete!"
(Scott Lotus looks bewildered and checks on Stevo. Stevens laughs in the ring and then slides out to cause more damage. He is met, though, halfway by Scott Lotus, and the two begin brawling. Meanwhile, Stevo hasn’t moved. Lotus and Stevens roll into the ring to break the count at nine, but Stevo is counted out. He still hasn’t moved, and immediately, the referee calls for the EMT’s.)
FJ: "And Stevo is eliminated!"
HS: "Shut up Frank. He could be seriously injured. All thanks for Brian Stevens. He still hasn’t moved!"
(Back inside the ring, as Lotus and Stevens brawl, Tragedy has gotten the upper hand on Jason Ross, who also have been brawling for some time. Presently, he has Ross in an arm wrench. He pulls Ross around and goes for a gut kick, but Ross grabs it. Tragedy leaps up for a counter enziguri, but Jason ducks. He quickly lifts Ross up onto his shoulders and calls for The Gift.)
HS: "He calls this move the Gift!"
FJ: "Oh, but Tragedy rolls free."
(Tragedy rolls off behind Ross and then charges at him with a bulldog. Immediately upon landing, he locks in a crossface on Ross.)
HS: "Crossface! Here’s the Tragic Ending!"
FJ: "But look at XTJ!"
(The fans have managed to cheer XTJ out of Schmidt’s hold, and he is now landing elbow smashes. Schmidt staggers back and XTJ leaps high in to the air, landing a huge dropkick. The fans cheer as XTJ goes up to the top rope, instantly. Jason Ross is still in the submission, but has yet to tap out. He screams in agony, trying to escape the hold.)
HS: "XTJ UP TOP!"
FJ: "Tap Ross, TAP!"
(XTJ is about to leap into the air, when suddenly, Schmidt kips up to his feet and then charges. He hops up onto the second turnbuckle and, with the momentum behind him, nails XTJ with a huge European Uppercut. Schmidt does a complete 360 in the air after the move, and lands back facing XTJ. XTJ’s eyes glaze over and he slumps down. Schmidt pulls him off the turnbuckle, onto his shoulder.)
HS: "Oh no, this move is insane!"
FJ: "What? What is it?"
HS: "OOH GUILLOTINE DRIVER!"
FJ: "THAT WAS INSANE!"
HS: "Told you."
(The fans are stunned silent as Schmidt rolls over him for the cover. They all are hoping XTJ will kick out, but he doesn’t. Schmidt stands up, laughing, and kicks XTJ out of the ring.)
HS: "And XTJ has been eliminated!"
FJ: "So much for Team Canada!"
HS: "Listen to these fans boo!"
(The fans soon begin to clap though, as XTJ climbs to his feet and holds his arms high. They give him a nice ovation. Meanwhile, Dirty has charged the ring to help his comrade Stevo. The EMT’s have just managed to load him onto the stretcher, but he isn’t responding.)
HS: "Stevo is seriously injured here!"
FJ: "JASON ROSS IS TAPPING!"
HS: "Wha… no no, look, his foot is on the ropes!"
FJ: "But the referee is calling for the bell!"
HS: "HIS FOOT IS ON THE ROPES!"
FJ: "It doesn’t matter, because Jason Ross is eliminated!"
(The referee, having just counted the pin fall for XTJ, rolled over to see Ross tapping. He immediately called for the bell, not realizing Ross’ foot was on the ropes. Jason Ross doesn’t argue, and rather, rolls out of the ring, clutching his shoulder in pain. Tragedy begins to climb to his feet when he is suddenly kicked hard by Frank Schmidt. Schmidt kicks Tragedy again, over onto his stomach, in a prone position. He reaches down and pulls Tragedy’s arms back.)
HS: "Schmidt perhaps going for a surfboard here?"
FJ: "OHH! That looks like it hurt!"
HS: "What is that called?"
FJ: "If I’m not mistaken, it’s called a curb stomp!"
HS: "Frank Schmidt is vicious!"
(Schmidt taunts Tragedy and then the crowd. Cerberus has broken the brawl between Lotus and Stevens up, and neither man was gaining the advantage. Cerberus lands European uppercuts to both Lotus and Stevens, staggering both of them backwards. But both are now upset, and they nail Cerberus with clotheslines, sandwiching him from both sides. Cerberus staggers backwards, then his eyes roll up and he falls onto his face. Immediately, Brian Stevens drops to his knees and locks a sleeper in on Cerberus.)
HS: "Whoa, check that sleeper out? Wait, his arm is on Cerberus’ throat! That move is illegal!"
FJ: "I don’t see it, the ref doesn’t see it."
HS: "Funny, all the fans see it!"
(The fans actually cheer Stevens, for attempting his Dead Sensation, despite his not so friendly relationship with most of them. The referee finally does see the illegal hold and forces Stevens to break it up. Cerberus jumps to his feet, irate, and kicks Stevens in the groin. Right in front of the referee.)
HS: "Cerberus just got DISQUALIFIED!"
FJ: "What in the world?"
(Cerberus glares at the referee in confusion and anger. The referee orders him out of the ring and Cerberus snaps. He knocks the referee out and begins stomping him. Scott Lotus sees this and goes and shoves Cerberus out of the ring. Cerberus climbs to his feet in anger as Lotus helps the referee to his feet. Cerberus starts towards the ring, but then thinks otherwise. The fans begin a ‘Na Na Na, Hey, Hey, Hey, Goodbye chant for the hated Cerberus.)
FJ: "They’re just jealous he eliminated Terry James."
HS: "He got what he deserved."
(Lotus helps the referee up, and as he does, Brian Stevens rolls him up.)
FJ: "A pin from Stevens!"
HS: "But the referee isn’t counting."
FJ: "What, that is outrageous!"
HS: "He’s still shaken up, he doesn’t realize what’s going on."
(Lotus kicks free, having never gained a count.)
HS: "And four men remain! What a match, what an effort, what a performance put on by these rookies tonight!"
FJ: "And I just realized, the final four have never competed in AWA before! This was their first match!"
HS: "Maybe their need to prove themselves has motivated each one."
(Outside the ring, Stevo has FINALLY started moving and the fans give him a roaring ovation as he raises his arm and the EMT’s push him up the ramp and out of the arena.)
HS: "Stevo is finally showing some life. Thank goodness."
FJ: "He took a huge fall."
(On the other side of the ring, Tragedy is taking stiff slaps from Frank Schmidt. Schmidt has backed Tragedy into the turnbuckle and begins mixing in chops and kicks. Tragedy blocks a few, but has taken a blunt of the blows. Suddenly, Schmidt begins unloading with various mixed martial arts moves, knees, forearms, and everything.)
HS: "This is how Schmidt eliminated Ocelot before."
FJ: "It’s a party… a VIOLENCE PARTY!"
HS: "OH, and a huge roaring forearm from Schmidt!"
(Schmidt backs away, taunting the crowd. He turns around toward the turnbuckle to see Tragedy standing there, bleeding from the mouth. Tragedy just looks down and laughs, enjoying the punishment.)
HS: "Tragedy just took the blows! He’s laughing!"
FJ: "Tragedy is nuts! Ha! I like this kid!"
(Schmidt looks stunned for a moment, but then tries charges at Tragedy. Tragedy moves out of the way and Schmidt connects shoulder first with the turnbuckle. He stagers backward, grasping at his shoulder, and is met in the back with a dropkick from Tragedy that sends him over the top rope and out of the ring.)
HS: "Nice dropkick from Tragedy sending Schmidt over and out."
FJ: "But what is Tragedy doing now?"
HS: "He’s… he’s going up top!"
(Tragedy hits the top turnbuckle and faces in the middle of the ring. He then leaps backward, extremely high in the air, and lands a moonsault on Schmidt.)
HS: "Fall From Grace!"
FJ: "That was insane!"
(The fans begin a huge HOLY SHIT! Chant as Tragedy and Schmidt lay lifeless outside of the ring. The referee begins a ten count, but neither man looks to be answering. TWO… THREE… FOUR… in the ring, Stevens and Lotus are again brawling, both trading rights, neither man gaining an advantage. SIX… SEVEN... Tragedy finally begins to stir and goes over to the ring… NINE… just before he can get into the ring, Schmidt reaches out and grabs him, pulling him backward... TEN!)
HS: "Tragedy and Schmidt are Counted OUT! We’re down to the final two!"
FJ: "But Schmidt isn’t done. LOOK!"
HS: "Oh, this isn’t necessary."
(Frank Schmidt kicks Tragedy and then locks his arms behind him again.)
HS: "Oh, not again! Not outside!"
FJ: "CURB STOMPS FOR EVERYONE!"
(The fans let out a sigh as Schmidt uses his foot to shove Tragedy’s face into the concrete. Blood spatters out of Tragedy’s mouth as Schmidt, angrily, begins walking up the ramp. Tragedy pushes himself, still bleeding profusely from the mouth, and he smiles again, rubbing his jaw.)
FJ: "Man, that kid really is nuts!"
HS: "He’s hardcore, that’s for damned sure."
(Schmidt walks backstage, flipping off some taunting members of the crowd.)
HS: "It’s down to Brian Stevens and Scott Lotus! Which of these two men will become the winner of the Rookie Brawl!"
FJ: "My money is on Stevens."
HS: "If we’re making picks, I’ll side with Lotus. Just to give us something to argue about!"
(Stevens and Lotus look at each other in the middle of the ring. Lotus and Stevens tie up for the final part of the Rookie Brawl. Lotus gets the better of the situation and kicks Stevens in the stomach and delivers a DDT, sending Stevens crashing down to the mat. Lotus gets up and starts to stalk Stevens, just waiting for him to get up. Stevens spears Lotus out of nowhere and mounts him and the two start trade rights and lefts. Suddenly, the action switches to something backstage. We see EMTs checking on Stevo’s condition as he’s still strapped inside that stretcher. As they start to ask him questions, Frank Schmidt comes out of nowhere and starts screaming about his loss. He starts to yell at the EMTs and then he kicks the stretcher over, with Stevo still strapped in. Schmidt starts to kick and throw around medical equipment. The EMTs try to reason with Schmidt, but he storms off upset and cursing up a storm.)
HS: "What the hell was that all about?"
FJ: "I don’t know. I guess that Frank Schmidt was a little angry that he lost the match. I mean, I would be."
(The scene cuts back in to show Stevens delivering a belly to belly suplex to Scott Lotus. Stevens picks up Lotus, but Lotus fights Stevens. Lotus and Stevens tie up and Lotus sends Stevens into the ropes and hits a powerslam on his way back. With Stevens down, Lotus goes for a pin…)
HS: "Lotus could have the win here! ONE…TWO..- OH, but Stevens kicks out."
FJ: "Thank you Brian Stevens! My faith is once again restored!"
HS: "You have no faith, you flip flopper!"
(Lotus gets up, a little disappointed that he didn’t pin Stevens on that attempt. Stevens tries to get up, but pushes Lotus into the unsuspecting referee! Lotus, a little confused by what just happened, looks down to check on the referee. While Lotus is checking on the referee’s condition, Brian Stevens rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair. Stevens pushes the time keeper of his chair and folds it up and climbs back into the ring. Lotus looks up at Stevens as he’s walking up to him with the chair, but then the arena goes completely dark! The AWA Tron lights up and blood pours down the screen and the words "The Demon is Awake!" appear on the screen and the arena lights back up, but Saidogai is standing in the middle of the ring, behind Stevens.)
HS: "That was Saidogai that was behind these strange black outs!"
FJ: "Oh no! Stevens get out of there!"
(Saidogai taps on Stevens shoulder and Stevens turns around to be greeted by Saidogai’s hand to his throat. Stevens drops the chair and Saidogai picks up Stevens and sends him to the mat with a thunderous chokeslam! Saidogai stands up and looks around and then the arena goes completely black again. When the arena lights up a few seconds later, Saidogai is nowhere to be seen. Lotus is able to get the referee stirring again. He walks over and kicks the chair out of the ring. He looks down at Brian who is stirring a little bit. He picks up the dazed Stevens and locks him up for the Sydewinder and connects it! Scott Lotus covers Brian Stevens and the referee is slow to count the pinfall…)
HS: "That Sydewinder connected to Brian Stevens and this match seems to be over!"
FJ: "That’s not fair! Saidogai interfered! Lotus should be disqualified!"
HS: "The referee didn’t see it, so he can’t call what he didn’t see! The cover! ONE…….TWO……..THREE! Scott Lotus has done it! He’s won his first match in the AWA by going through 13 other wrestlers in this amazing Rookie Brawl!"
FJ: "No fair!! Oh well, Stevens put up a good fight and I see him as being a major competitor in his bright future in the AWA."
HS: "Much like the other twelve in this match."
(We cut to a hallway and pick up the former AWA World Heavyweight Champion "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson walking around, again talking
on his cell phone. He passes various AWA talents. We again can hear his conversation.)
DW: "It's almost time now. After this match concludes, we're on. I'll notify Paige and Louise myself."
(About this time, Paige and Paul Parker walk around the corner, Paige wearing a mini skirt and Paul Parker wearing an armani suit. We see a smile appear
across Jeff Christianson's face. He walks directly over to them. Parker jumps behind Paige as Jeff begins to speak.)
DW: "Is your attourney here?"
PAIGE: "Yes... Unfortunately, Frank is here..."
DW: "Your bitch boy can afford him? That's impressive considering what I've heard about his salary."
(Paige now looks a little embarassed as she speaks this time.)
PAIGE: "Actually, Frank was let go by the firm he worked for. He now works for us and solely for us. Now why do you want to have him here? In public?"
DW: "I've never been one to shy away from a camera. So why not make my business public? After all, I do have a huge announcement to make afterwards."
PAIGE: "Can you give me any insight on that?"
DW: "Do I look like an idiot? You can wait and see."
("Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson walks past them. As he walks past Parker, we hear him make a comment.)
DW: "See you later, bitch boy."
(Parker looks upset as the camera follows Dark Warrior. We now see the same security guy that wouldn't let him in Xplosion. Dark Warrior now speaks to him.)
DW: "We meet again. This time, you can't do anything about me, now can you?"
(The security guard now looks as if he's about to speak, but Christianson cuts him off.)
DW: "Listen, instead of speaking, do something else for me. You should tell Louise that I want here in the ring. I don't want to go near here. I heard she had
some type of contagious disease. Actually, tell her to wait on the ramp. I don't want her in my ring... the same ring I claimed my 2nd AWA World title reign in."
(The scene fades back to the ring, as we hear the crowd begin laughing as DW said he heard that Louise had some type of contagious disease.)
FJ: "Now, Louise doesn't have some type of contagious disease."
HS: "Remember, Frank, he has his sources. Besides, how would you know?"
FJ: "What is he doing here?"
HS: "We'll find out after this match, Frank. Can't you wait that long?"
FJ: "If you want the truth, I can't."
HS: "We'll only have to wait a little more until our main event. Fifty-four weeks ago, Low and Brian Williams fought for the AWA World title on Sunday Night
Shock. The special referees at that time were then-officials George Slater and Mortis Valley. We'll take you back to show you how that match unfolded."
(A graphic says "Sunday Night Shock, 02/15/2004, Low vs. Williams II".
Low has pulled Williams up by his long hair and now lifts him up and hits a kneebreaker. Before Williams has the
chance to drop to the mat, Low hits a second kneebreaker. After a third kneebreaker Williams sinks to the mat and Low
applies the Low Profile!)
HS: "The Low Profile! This might spell the end for Brian Williams as the AWA World Heavyweight Champion!"
(Williams indeed seems to be close to tapping out. However, once again he pushes Slater away and Slater hits the back of
his head on one of the turnbuckles.)
FJ: "Now the second referee is down."
HS: "He's not out, however, as he is already struggling to get to his feet."
(Mortis, who was unsuccessful in reviving the original referee, is now in the ring, asking Williams if he wants to give
up. Williams shakes his head. Suddenly, Slater pushes Mortis aside and asks Williams himself. Williams still shakes his
head, but Mortis now asks Slater what is wrong with him. The two argue in the middle of the ring. Low now releases the Low
Profile and joins their argument. He points to his waist and signals that this is for HIS chance to regain the title and
that Slater and Mortis are making things difficult for him. Williams is up again now and goes for a clothesline, but Low
ducks and Williams hits both Mortis and Slater instead. Mortis is on the mat while Slater rolls out of the ring nearby a
corner post.)
HS: "I can't believe the amount of 'flying referees' we have here tonight."
FJ: "'Flying referees'? You're so silly."
(Williams turns around and Low hits the Low Stunner one more time. He crawls over and covers Williams, but there is no
referee left to count. Low counts to three himself, with the crowd counting along, but it makes no difference.)
HS: "He would have gotten him here, but there's no referee to count!"
FJ: "Williams is just playing possum! Why would he want to kick out when he knows nothing can happen to him right now?"
(Low now shakes Mortis a little to wake him up again. He then pulls Williams up to his feet and whips him into the corner
where Slater is making his way up on the outside. Low uses all his strength to lift Williams up onto the turnbuckle. Low
follows him to the top rope. He hooks Williams' head, lifts him up and hits a HUGE superplex off the top rope as the fans
cheer wildly. Low is about roll over and onto Williams to cover him, but Williams blocks this attempt and hooks Low's leg
in the process. Suddenly we hear the 1..... 2..... 3! The bell is rung.)
FJ: "What happened???"
HS: "I don't know!"
(Low and Williams are both now up on their feet again. Both are visibly exhausted. Mortis is on his feet as well and
Slater has also made his way back into the ring. Slater walks over to Brian Williams and raises his arm. Mortis, on the
other hand, walks over to Low and raises HIS arm.
We cut back to Herb and Frank again.)
HS: "This match was declared another draw and due to these two matches, as well as the differences that Mortis and Slater
had, the AWA was split into two separate brands. Anyway, let us take you back to AWA Xplosion, where Paul Parker became one
half of the AWA Tag Team Champions."
(A graphic appears saying "Last Week on Xplosion".
(Paul Parker jumps to his feet and immediately heads over to the turnbuckle. He gets a mixed reaction as he hops
to the top, most cheers coming from the fans that want to see him ‘fly’. Paige cheers him on from outside, almost ordering
him.)
HS: "Here comes his patented 450 Splash!"
FJ: "Look out below!"
(Before he can hit the move, however, Johnny Hollywood has climbed in and is grabbing his ankles. Parker nails him with some rights to his head and then kicks him in the face, staggering him backward. Johnny stumbles over the top of the downed Cynder, laying on top of him. Paul Parker smiles, then shrugs his shoulders, before leaping into the air and flipping several times.)
HS: "450 SPLASH! 450 SPLASH!"
FJ: "He just landed on Hollywood AND Cynder! That was just insane!"
(A Holy Shit chant starts up with the excited Montreal crowd. Parker clutches at his stomach and then rolls back, his
arms draped over both men. The referee looks down and begins a count. ONE! TWO! THREE! The bell rings as Paul Parker is
declared the winner.)
HS: "Paul Parker won one half of the Tag team title after Xavier Pain was fired. Tonight we will see the first defense
of Paul Parker and Draven Shadows. What type of match? We will find out in just a second."
(We cut back to the suite where Louise is talking on her cell phone.)
LOUISE: "No, it's all under control. I'll call you back later."
(Louise puts her phone away.)
LOUISE: "This is the second match of the night where you could choose between four match types. Without further ado, here
is what you, the people paying for my cell phone, voted for. Number 4 is the Kendo-stick-on-a-pole Match. Number 3 is the
First Blood Elimination Match. Number 2 is the TLC Match, so you, the AWA fans, have voted for this match to be a FOUR
CORNERS MATCH!"
HS: "And this should be a great one, folks."
FJ: "As we just found out, Draven Shadows, and his new partner, Paul Parker will defend their Tag Team Championships
against The Immortals, and The Forces of Nature in a Four Corners Match!"
HS: "That’s right... it means that anyone can tag anyone, and we could even see Thunder take on Lightning, Apollo take
on Atlas or Shadows take on Parker. That potential alone makes this very interesting."
FJ: "You call it interesting, Herb. I call it the time we crown new Tag Team Champions. No one in that ring can stand
against The Forces of Nature!"
HS: "This is going to be a great one, Frank, and any of these three teams deserve the title."
FJ: "Not the Immortals. Bunch of goodie-goodies."
HS: "And speaking of the Immortals... "
(Blue and yellow lights circle the arena as The Atlas Theme hits the speakers. The video on the tron shows vignettes of
Atlas and Apollo in tag team action, as the two appear on the rampway. The duo head to the ring amidst the cheers, with
Atlas pausing to interact with the fans. Finally, they both slide in under the bottom rope, and Atlas walks across the ring,
taking the microphone. The music dies down, as Apollo heads towards the corner, giving Atlas the ring. Atlas taps the top
of the mic, as the crowd roars.)
ATLAS: "Hey all you fans out there! Silence please, I have a statement to make. Lately, I have heard other superstars
talk about how the Cruiserweight Championship hasn't been defended for a long time. Some are even claiming that this is
because I am afraid of losing the belt. This is of course nothing but nonsense. Nevertheless, I want to prove these people
wrong. So, I will put my Cruiserweight title on the line as soon as the AWA books the match. And I will take on anyone who
feels up to the challenge. Anyone who thinks they can match me. Anyone who thinks they stand a chance against perfection.
So, will there be any takers?"
HS: "Wow, what a blockbuster announcement! Within the next two weeks we will have a Cruiserweight title match!
I wonder who will accept the challenge."
FJ: "Cruiserweight Title? Shock? Accept the challenge? Herb, aren’t you paying any attention? This is a match for the
Tag Team belts. And Vortex. You need to do the same thing Atlas needs to do. Get your head in the game."
HS: "Frank, that’s big news, and it’s my job to comment on it."
FJ: "Yes, and my job is to make your job more difficult, and call you a little girl. Isn’t that right, Heidi?"
HS: "Uh-huh... anyway, I believe the second team to challenge for the gold is on their way."
(Apollo and Atlas stand near the far left corner of the ring, discussing something amongst themselves. As "How We Do"
hits and the lights go yellow and blue, the AWA Tron shows Thunder with the king of TV under his picture and right next to
it a split screen with lightning. Sparks come up the ramp as Thunder comes out holding Alyson's hand followed by his older
brother Lightning. As they appear they're showered with boos as all three walk side by side giving dirty looks to the fans.
The sparks go off as Lightning gets in the ring and Thunder helps Alyson in and Thunder gets on the ropes bad mouthing the
crowd.)
FJ: "And there are the new Tag Team Champions."
HS: "It’s two men who hope to be, Frank. And the rookie, Lightning, much like the rookie Apollo, and the rookie we’ll
soon be seeing, Paul Parker, shows a lot of promise."
FJ: "Only promise I see, Herb, is the promise to soon be wearing gold around their waists."
HS: "We shall see, Frank, we shall see."
(Thunder hops down off the ropes, and he and Lightning approach the center of the ring. Atlas and Apollo stride over
from the other side, and the two teams exchange words, with Thunder miming a title belt around his waist and Apollo
countering by pointing to his chest, assumedly saying that the belt was his to win. Just then "Family Ties" by Cam'Ron,
Hell Rell, 40 Cal, and JR Writer blares over the PA and Paul Parker walks out slowly, with Paige following, to a chorus of
people booing. He mocks what Jeff Christianson does when he walks down the entrance ramp to draw even more heat from the
crowd. He pauses at the base of the ramp way, patting the title belt that’s draped over his shoulder, before looking back
over his shoulder. A girl’s voice fills the arena.)
GIRL: "He loves flesh and blood! You will feed the beast!"
(The girl's voice echoes throughout the arena as a crow cawing then takes the place of the girls voice. Cradle of Filth's "Twisted Nails of Faith" begins to play as the arena goes dark. Footage of a figure that is all black is seen walking on the AWA Tron. From the footage you can tell the figure is wearing a trench coat. The footage then fades over to barbed wire sliding across the tron's screen. The barbed wire then forms into a name. It spells out "Draven Shadows". Then around the ring fire appears out of knowhere. The camera rises up to show on the AWA Tron that the fire makes the shape of a crow around it. The lights come back on and Draven Shadows and Heather are already inside the ring. Some fans jump out of their seat at shock seeing Draven just appear out of nowhere. Draven takes off his trench coat, strap up shirt and Tag Team title, before handing it to the tech guy as the fire around the ring dies out. Heather gets out of the ring as Parker slides in, joining Shadows' side. The two whisper among themselves, as the four challengers turn to face the two men who hold the gold.)
HS: "And here are the AWA Tag Team Champions."
FJ: "This is going to be intense."
HS: "You got that right, Frank."
FJ: "Wait... who starts off?"
HS: "Well, the first two participants are determined by a coin toss."
FJ: "Oh... so you don’t know?"
HS: "What I’m saying is..."
FJ: "What you’re saying is we should just wait and see who stays in the ring."
HS: "It looks like we’re about to answer that question, Frank."
FJ: "Nice swerve."
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(The three teams stand in the middle of the ring, all staring down the competition, before retreating to their respective corners, without incident. Both members of the Tag Team Champions step out onto the apron, as well as Atlas of the Immortals, and Lightning of Forces of Nature. Apollo and Thunder circle each other for a moment, before lunging forward and locking in a collar and elbow tie. They struggle for a moment, before Thunder brings up a sharp knee to Apollo’s midsection, and follows it with a forearm. Apollo staggers back a step or two, with Thunder following in close. Thunder catches Apollo, and pushes him back into the corner, pulling his arm out over the top rope.)
CROWD: "Woooo!"
FJ: "Ow! Herb, did you hear the knife edged chop?"
HS: "That was teeth rattling!"
(Apollo grabs Thunder by the shoulders, and reverses positions with him, before answering back with a knife edged chop of his own.)
CROWD: "Woooo!"
(Thunder staggers out of the corner, and Apollo immediately capitalizes, hitting a vicious snap suplex. Thunder writhes, clutching his lower back, as Apollo follows up with a short elbow drop. He picks Thunder up, and bars the arm, before tagging in Atlas.)
FJ: "No fair, that’s his partner!"
HS: "Who said that was illegal, Frank?"
FJ: "I said it’s no fair. If you can tag in anyone, you should give the Champions a chance. It’s only right."
(Atlas enters the ring, catching Thunder in the ribs with a stiff kick, before he and Apollo hit a double dropkick, rocketing Thunder back.)
HS: "First cover of the match!"
FJ: "And Thunder’s up at one. It’s way too early."
(Thunder rolls his shoulder, and Atlas is immediately back on his opponent. Atlas locks in a rear chinlock, driving his knee between Thunder’s shoulder blades. Thunder begins to lift himself quickly, catching Atlas with a couple of elbow shots to the gut, before whipping him towards the ropes. As Atlas hit’s the ropes, Lightning, who happens to be close, lifts his knee, and catches Atlas in the back. Atlas staggers forward, and turns to Lightning, as the ref comes running over. Thunder attacks Atlas from behind, hitting an incredible clothesline to the back of Atlas’ head.)
HS: "Oh come on! How is that fair?"
FJ: "What? That’s good tag team wrestling."
(Thunder lifts Atlas up, and pushes him back into his corner, catching Atlas with a few punches to the gut, before the referee separates the two. As the ref pushes Thunder back, Lightning reaches over, and ties the tag rope around Atlas’s neck, drawing Apollo out. The referee runs to Apollo, warning him to go back to his corner, and Thunder lays some heavy boots to Atlas. Lightning lets go, and Atlas slumps down in the corner, as Thunder tags in his partner.)
FJ: "See? Good tag team wrestling."
HS: "That’s cheating, Frank."
(Atlas begins to get to his feet, as Lightning enters the ring, and Atlas turns and catches an amazing dropkick, sending him right back down. Lightning crawls over Atlas, and starts punching away, before hooking the leg for a cover.)
HS: "1... 2..."
FJ: "What the... ?"
(Draven Shadows rushes in, and breaks up the pinfall, causing Lightning to stand, and start yelling. The referee ushers Shadows back, while Lightning turns back towards Atlas. He lifts Atlas up, and whips him off the ropes, and as Atlas hit’s the ropes, Paul Parker makes a blind tag.)
HS: "Looks like the tag team champions are tired of being idle spectators."
FJ: "It is their gold. And like I said, they now have a chance to defend it. This is fair."
(Atlas rushes back towards Lightning, and ducks a clothesline. Lightning steps forward, exerting a lot of force with the clothesline, and is met with a jumping calf kick from Paul Parker. Lightning hit’s the mat, and immediately scrambles back up, as Atlas rolls out of the ring. As Lightning hits his feet, he’s caught with an enziguri from Parker. Lightning hits the mat, hard, with Parker following up with a kick to the neck and shoulder. He then drags Lightning back to his corner, and tags in Shadows.)
HS: "And now the tag team champions are firmly in control."
FJ: "Yes, yes they are. It looks like they’re about ready to synch this one up."
HS: "I think it’s far from over, Frank."
(Shadows enters the ring, and the tag team champs volley some stomps to the back of Lightning. Shadows then drops and begins hitting cross faces to Lightning, before tagging out to Parker once more. They whip Lightning into the ropes, and knock him down with a double clothesline, before Parker lifts Lightning back up for a snap suplex. Parker lifts Lightning up once more, and wraps his arms around his opponents waist. He then arches his back and slams Lightning with an amazing German Suplex.)
FJ: "He’s got the bridge!"
HS: "The referee is counting... 1... 2..."
FJ: "No, Lightning is able to roll out."
HS: "He needs to make a tag."
(Parker lifts Lightning up once again, and locks in a front face lock, dragging his opponent back to his corner. The two grab Lightning, and prepare to suplex him, but Lightning begins kicking his feet halfway up, and within a second, pulls the tag champs down into a double DDT.)
HS: "What a counter!"
FJ: "And Lightning’s crawling towards the wrong corner! What’s he doing?"
(Lighting crawls towards the Immortal, and tags the first hand outreached, which belongs to Apollo. Apollo comes in as a ball of fire, taking out Draven with a right hand, and then Parker with a right hand. Thunder comes rushing in, and is met with a right hand as well. Draven rises first, and is met with a backdrop. Parker comes rushing in, as well, running right into a belly to belly suplex. Parker rolls to the outside, as Apollo turns, and Thunder catches him with a boot to the gut, followed by a quick flowing DDT.)
HS: "What action!"
(Shadows slides over, and drapes his body over Apollo’s, who quickly rolls his shoulder. The referee begins escorting Thunder back to his corner, as Draven takes advantage of the fallen Immortal. He picks Atlas up, and hoists him up on his shoulder. He then rushes towards the Immortals turnbuckle, and drops Apollo down, face first, immediately rushing to the other side of the ring.)
FJ: "Snake Eyes!"
HS: "And here comes the big boot!"
(Draven comes rushing back, and lifts his leg high, preparing to take Apollo out, but Apollo ducks, and tags in Atlas, as Draven misses. He turns, and Atlas hits a neckbreaker. He pins Shadows for a one count, as Parker comes rushing into the ring.)
HS: "This has been a great match so far."
FJ: "And it’s about to get better. Parker just hit Atlas!"
(Atlas turns, as Parker comes barreling in, and is hit square in the midsection by a spear from Paul Parker. Atlas hit’s the mat hard, as the referee warns Parker, and Draven rolls over, draping an arm over Atlas.)
HS: "1... 2... no!"
(The two men struggle to their feet, battling back and forth with a volley of right hands, before Atlas staggers Draven back. Thunder reaches out, and tags Shadows on the back, and immediately makes his way into the ring, as Draven asks what happened. The referee asks Shadows to leave, as Thunder rushes forward, and catches Atlas with a major clothesline.)
FJ: "This is too hard to keep up with."
HS: "What’s so hard to follow?"
FJ: "Well, who’s legal?"
HS: "Atlas and Thunder. Pay attention."
FJ: "I am, I am!"
(Thunder taunts the fallen Immortal for a moment, before dropping a knee across the throat. He holds his weight there, as the referee moves in, admonishing him. He begins to count, and reaches 4, before Thunder stands, trying to play innocent.)
FJ: "I think the ref should get a title. He’s been busy tonight."
HS: "It’s hard to control six men at one time."
(Thunder lifts Atlas up, and Atlas tries to fight back, but Thunder, seeing the right hand coming, shifts his weight, and catches Atlas in a full nelson. Then, in one swift motion, he drives Atlas to the mat with a full nelson slam.)
FJ: "Yes, Thunder’s going for the cover!"
(1... 2...)
HS: "And Paul Parker breaks up the three count. That was close."
(Thunder stands and gets right in Paul Parker‘s face, yelling and pointing at Parker. Draven Shadows taps Thunder on the shoulder, and comes in to aid his partner, as Lightning rushes from his corner. The four men continue yelling at each other, as Atlas struggles to his feet. Draven pushes through, and catches Atlas from behind with a clothesline, before planting his foot, square in Atlas’s back.)
HS: "Oh no, he wouldn’t..."
FJ: "Oh yes, he would. I believe this is the Ultimate Sacrifice."
(The referee, still trying to maintain order, tries to get Parker back in his corner, which allows Thunder and Lightning to jump on Draven Shadows. Thunder pulls Shadows off of Atlas, and lifts him up, before dropping him down with a manhattan drop, when, a split second afterwards, Lightning follows up with a super kick to Shadow’s jaw. Both Apollo and Paul Parker come rushing back in, with Apollo clotheslining Lightning over the top rope, and Parker, after peppering Thunder with some chops and punches, hits Thunder with a spin wheel kick, that drops Thunder, and causes him to roll to the outside.)
HS: "This is chaos!"
FJ: "Bet you don’t know who’s legal now, do you?"
HS: "The referee needs to regain some control here."
FJ: "Fine, ignore me."
(Parker pops back up, and sees the only man left standing, besides the referee who is still trying to gain some semblance of order, is Apollo. Atlas begins to pull himself up, using the ropes, as Parker rushes forward. Apollo turns back, as Parker closes in, and without warning, lashes out his leg, and catches Parker with a super kick. Paul drops, and rolls out, as Atlas finally reaches his feet. He nods to Apollo, who cups his hands over Shadows, who is still feeling the affects of the Aftershock. Atlas places a foot inside the cupped palms, and Apollo shoots his partner straight up into the air. Atlas flips his body over, and lands across Draven with an impressive moonsault.)
HS: "The ref is down... the count... 1... 2... 3!!! The Immortals have done it, winning an impressive match with the impressive move, the Alley Oop!"
FJ: "This is a travesty! A travesty!"
HS: "Not a travesty, Frank. That was great. What a classic match up, and congratulations to The Immortals on their win!"
(Atlas’ theme begins to play once again, as The Immortals embrace in the center of the ring, celebrating their triumph.)
HS: "We have brand new AWA Tag Team Champions! Ladies and gentlemen, tonight's main event will feature Low and Brian
Williams. Let's take you back to their final meeting before Hell On Earth 2005."
(A graphic says "Sunday Night Shock, 02/22/2004, Low vs. Williams vs. Santini vs. Christianson".
(Williams is up on his feet again, but that doesn't last long as Santini hits a DDT right onto the chair. He covers
and gets 1..... 2..... and Low makes the save. Low and Santini exchange some more chops and Low gets the upper hand. He
kicks Santini's midsection and goes for the Low Stunner, but Santini pushes him off and into the ropes, kicks Low's
midsection now and then lifts him up into the Rave Squeeze! But before it leads anywhere Williams breaks it up with a
forearm to Santini's neck. He whips Santini into the ropes and then presses him high above his head. Williams sends him
down and hits the Revelation!)
FJ: "This could be it!"
(However Low is there with the chair once again and hits Williams right over the head, sending him a few steps back.
Low hits him a second time, backing him up against the ropes. A third chair shot and Williams goes over the top rope and
out to the floor. Low now follows Williams out of the ring and up the ramp and goes for another chair shot, but this time
Williams moves out of the way and kicks Low into the midsection, forcing him to drop the chair. They are now on top of
the ramp and Williams goes to throw Low off of it and onto a few tables placed there by the production team. However, just
as Williams hurls Low off Low somehow reverses the momentum and more or less hip tosses Williams off the ramp, yet Low
himself loses his balance and both men go off the ramp all the way down and through the tables!)
HS: "Oh my god!"
FJ: "Whoa, both men went through the tables!"
(We cut back to Herb and Frank)
FJ: "That's the type of action I like! And depending on what the fans have been voting for, we might just get it in our
main event."
HS: "What is this?"
("Destroy and Rebuild" by Nas blares over the PA and we hear a mixed reaction as we see Jeff Christianson limp out on the stage. He looks into the crowd
and heads straight to the ring at a fast pace, considering the injuries sustained to his knee and ankle over recent months. He slaps a few hands on his way down to
the ring. He stops at the end of the ramp and poses for a picture with a woman who has a ringside seat. He strikes a smile for her, then after the picture he rolls into
the ring. He slowly stands up. He strikes a pose on each side of the ring, giving the whole crowd a chance to get at least one picture of him back in the AWA ring,
even if it's for one night only. He grabs the microphone from the ring announcer and begins to speak.)
DW: "Before I speak, I would like for bitch boy and Paige to walk out."
(DW waits about ten seconds. He speaks again.)
DW: "Frank, I'd advise them to come out, because you're already in over your head in this court case. Hurry Frank, while they'll have some money to pay you."
(We hear "Family Ties" blare over the PA and see Paul Parker walk out to the ring in his ring attire as Paige follows behind him in a dress. We see Frank
dressed in blue jeans and a Jeff Christianson t-shirt coming out last. We see Jeff Christianson strike a smile as he continues to speak.)
DW: "Cut the music."
("Family Ties" stops. Christianson continues as Frank now walks up the steel stairs. We then see Paige walk up the stairs, followed by Parker. Frank holds the
ropes on one side for Paige, and Parker holds the ropes on the other side. Paige steps through the ropes followed by Paul Parker. Frank gets in the ring last.)
DW: "Now, before I continue, I'd like for Louise to come out. Please, keep your distance though. I wouldn't want you give whatever you've contracted to
anyone in the crowd. Lord knows the AWA needs another lawsuit on its hands."
(As we hear those comments, "That Don't Impress Me Much" begins to play and Louise appears at the top of the entrance ramp. She begins making her way to the ring.)
DW: "You might want to stop and hear this. I said stop, because you can now get jailed for coming any closer to me."
(We see Louise stop and look up at Christianson.)
DW: "Yes, Louise, as of this morning, I have a restraining order put on you. You can't come any closer to me than where you are or you will be arrested by
Toronto's finest."
(Louise backs up a few steps. Christianson now speaks to Paige and Paul Parker.)
DW: "Paige, first of all, let me say that meeting you was the worst mistake of my professional career, the second being me listening to anything Dave Santini
had to say."
(We hear the crowd give a pop as he continues.)
DW: "The last time I entered this ring, I became the AWA World Heavyweight Champion."
(We now here a mixed raction as he continues.)
DW: "This time, I enter the ring as a married man. However, I will leave the ring, as an unmarried man. So Paige, the divorce papers have been filed by my
oh so great attornies. Now, without wasting any more time, I'd like to introduce everyone to my team of super lawyers."
(A familiar song plays over the PA system and the crowd gives a huge ovation as we all recognize "Back In the Saddle" by Aerosmith.)
HS: "It can't be..."
FJ: "He can't have..."
(We see Suavio Mega walk out from behind the curtains. The crowd looks to be in shock. As Suavio walks halfway down to the ring he points back to the
entrance ramp. We now see Lustful Laura, accompanied by "The Southern Gentlemen" Snakebite. Paige, Louise, Paul Parker, the Toronto crowd in attendance,
and the crowd around the world seem to be in a state of shock as they all make their way down to the ring. Jeff Christianson has a big smile.)
FJ: "He did... That... That..."
HS: "Shut up Frank, let's hear what he has to say."
DW: "Here they are. Now for those of you who don't know them, allow me to introduce the best legal team you can come up with. Now that I've told them
about the divorce, I'll hand it over to you, Suavio, to further in that direction, since you'll be focusing on that case."
(Suavio nods as Jeff Christianson hands him the microphone. We see Suavio strike a big smile as he begins to speak.)
SUAVIO: "Thank you, Jeff. It's a pleasure doing business with you. Now Paige, it's been a long time, hasn't it?"
(We see Paige cringe as Suavio looks at her. He continues to speak.)
SUAVIO: "Paige, don't worry, I can't touch you, yet. Before Jeff Christianson divorced you, we had another non AWA sanctioned match. This time, it was
a thumb wrestling match. Role the footage."
(We see Suavio Mega beat Jeff Christianson in a thumb wrestling match. However, we notice that Jeff Christianson never heard Snakebite say go, as he was
distracted by Laura, who seemed to be exercising right behind Suavio. Suavio continues to speak, as the footage fades away.)
SUAVIO: "We had the same bet as last time. So as your divorce is finalized, Paige, you will now come with me and start the Paige Me Tour, Part 2. Instead
of the fans coming to you, you'll be going to the fans. Up, down, and all around."
(We see Paige begin to cry, but at the same time, Paul Parker is livid. He begins to charge Suavio, but is cut off by Snakebite. We see Snakebite grab the
microphone now.)
SNAKEBITE: "Now boyh, I do say that you shouldn't charge a man just because he's talkin' to ya. I also say that you should be glad that Jeff hasn't whipped
your ass all over the arena, boyh. But you're now the least of his worries. Now Louise, we do have a small proposal for you. It's very simple, take him back in the
AWA. Yet, he does want one match specificly booked."
(Louise looks at Snakebite, as he continues to speak.)
TSG: "It's very simple. A Hardcore Match between Jeff Christianson and Maxx Skabb. That's all you have to do. Jeff has even agreed to forfeit a month's
salary to several charities. He also requests the same pay as last time. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can't agree to this, we will continue to file motions in the
courtroom."
(Louise looks as if she can handle that. She nods and as she does that Snakebite hands Laura the microphone.)
LAURA: "That's not all, Louise. Like the restraining order not only goes for you, but your husband as well. And I will so totally make sure that it holds up in
court. Like, good bye now."
("Destroy and Rebuild" by Nas begins to plays. Louise returns to the back, as Paul Parker, Frank the lawyer and Paige quickly exit. Jeff Christianson, Laura
and Suavio all pose for pictures in the ring, before exiting.)
HS: "AWA fans, before we get to our No Limit Championship match, let's take a look at this intense feud between NHL and
Maxx Skabb."
(We cut to a highlight video about NHL and Maxx Skabb. It first shows when the two first met in NHL's debut match in the
Rookie Brawl, where the winner got a shot at the newly crowned No Limit Champion. It shows NHL going on to win that match,
defeating Maxx Skabb in the process. Then it shows NHL facing off against Andreas Lasiewicz and defeating him to become the
second AWA No Limit Champion. The scene fast forwards to a period just before Hell On Earth and Maxx Skabb proclaiming that
he voluntarily let NHL win the match. Then we fast forward to the week after Hell on Earth, where Snake had hired Maxx
Skabb's services to take out Bryan Peek, Colin Baird, Andreas Lasiewicz, and BlackJack. Once Maxx won his match to face NHL
for the No Limit Championship, Snake offered to pay Maxx money to lay down for NHL. Maxx refused and a fight ensued with
Maxx beating down NHL and Snake. On the following Shock, NHL and Snake jump Maxx Skabb, only pushing the hatred even
further. During the No Limit Championship Match on the January 28th edition of Xplosion, NHL changes into "Henry" and
dislocates Maxx's shoulder, putting him on the shelf for a period of two weeks. When Maxx returned, NHL and Maxx were
attacking each other every chance they could. Finally, acting AWA commissioner, Lethal Louise, puts NHL and Maxx in a match
at Vortex.)
FJ: "What a feud between those two. Louise, in what type of match will the next chapter of this feud be written?"
(We cut to Louise, who has quickly returned to her suite.)
LOUISE: "First of all, sure, Christianson, Dave will stay away from you. I never figured you'd be afraid of a
hospitalized, injured Dave "The Rave" Santini, NOR his petite yet incredibly sexy fianceé. Jeff, I have enough authority to
punish you without getting near you."
"Anyway, up next we have what ended up being the closest voting. The number 3 match type voted for by the AWA fans is the
First Blood Match. Number 2 is the Glass Table Match, so the AWA No Limit title will be decided in a Boiler Room Brawl!"
HS: "Wow! Frank, this is a major stipulation for the No Limit Championship match. Fans had to the opportunity to view either a Triple Glass Table Match, a First Blood Match, or a Boiler Room Brawl, and the fans have spoken with the Boiler Room Brawl."
FJ: "This is a travesty! I was hoping to see someone get pulverized by going through a glass table, much like we saw NHL powerbomb Snake through that glass table earlier in the evening."
HS: "That was some scary power by our reigning No Limit Champion, and it was obvious that some of these harsh feelings have been welling up inside of NHL and he felt fit to unleash them tonight when Snake was displaying such disrespect towards NHL and his wife."
FJ: "I wonder if NHL was picturing Snake as that possible prowler we have been seeing lately. I don't know if this prowler is in fact Snake, but I think Nathan might have been projecting some of that onto Snake after that video aired, along with those comments that Snake made. I'm glad that someone put Snake into his place. I've been sick of him since day one."
HS: "Frank, Snake could be in critical condition for all we know, and besides, you're getting off course here."
(The camera switches from Herb and Frank and shows Maxx Skabb walking towards the boiler room.)
HS: "And here is the challenger, Maxx Skabb, contending tonight to fight against Nathan Hawthorne-Lee for the No Limit Championship. Maxx has the possibility to become the third ever No Limit Champion in AWA history if he escapes from the boiler room tonight."
FJ: "Yeah, for those fans who aren't familiar with the rules of a Boiler Room Brawl, the rules are quite simple. Two men enter the boiler room and fight in a match where pretty much everything is legal. No holds are barred, though I doubt we will see any holds being used. This is a voilent street fight that is going to be contained inside a boiler room. The winner is the person who can make it out of the boiler room and shut the door. Once that door is shut, the match is over, plain and simple."
(Maxx Skabb enters the boiler room and starts to look around. The camera switches to NHL walking down a different hallway with the No Limit Title around his waist. As NHL is walking by, he snatches a bottle of water and pours half over his head and drinks some before tossing it behind his head.)
FJ: "And here comes the current No Limit Champion, the second in AWA history. He gained the title by defeating Andreas Lasiewicz only a week after he won the championship by unifying the Television and Hardcore titles. Since winning the titles, NHL has risen through the ranks and has become a respectable competitor here in the AWA. No one in the AWA has been able to pin NHL's shoulders or made him submit for a loss to his record. Any loss has been by the hands of either another match participant or a tag team partner. NHL has always delivered when his title is on the line and given his track record in comparison to Maxx Skabb's track record, I say that NHL is retaining the title tonight."
(NHL approaches the closed door to the boiler room. He greets the referee there.)
NHL: "So in order for me to win, I have to escape out of here and close the door behind me?"
Referee: "That is correct. Anything goes inside that boiler room. All I do is just declare a winner once one has emerged from the boiler room. Once someone leaves the boiler room, the match is over. I just wanted to repeat that. You don't necessarily have to close the door behind you, it's just at my judgement. Just remember that the first person to leave the boiler room wins. You got it?"
NHL: "Yeah, I heard you the first four times. Here's my title. Keep it warm for me when I come back to get it."
(The referee opens the door for NHL.)
NHL: "Where's Skabb?"
Referee: "He's already in there."
(The referee kind of pushes NHL into the boiler room a little more and slams the door behind him. NHL turns around and Skabb comes running by and slams NHL against the door of the boiler room. Maxx picks NHL up by the head and brings him into the boiler room some more and starts hits a couple of right hands to NHL's midsection. NHL bends over and Maxx looks around for something to hit NHL with. NHL charges Maxx and hits him with a chop block right to the back of Maxx's left leg, causing Maxx to fall right on top of NHL and the two land on the hard concrete floor. NHL pushes himself off the floor and shoves Maxx off. NHL staggers around and finds a bucket on the ground. He picks it up and turns around and walks towards Maxx. Maxx gets up and turns around only to be smashed in the head by that bucket. Maxx steps back a few steps, but NHL advances, hitting Maxx on the head again, denting the bucket even more. Maxx steps back a few more steps and then he hits Skabb on the head again, denting the bucket more. From this final impact, Maxx falls directly to the concrete. NHL tosses the bucket on Maxx.)
HS: "What an opening to our match here! NHL has dispatched of Maxx quickly and I think he's heading for that door."
FJ: "I didn't think Maxx had a chance in this match. NHL's just steps away from winning this match."
(As NHL is opening the door, Maxx appears from around the corner and tosses that bucket at NHL. It hits Nathan in the back of the head, causing him to fall backwards from the blow. Maxx bends down to pick up NHL, but the when the referee closes the door, he slams it on Maxx's head and he goes down. NHL gets up, holding the back of his head, and grabs Maxx by the head. He forces Skabb to his feet and brings him back into the larger portion of the boiler room. NHL rams Maxx's head into a pipe and then does it again. Maxx grabs his forhead and elbows NHL in the stomach. Skabb whips NHL into a bunch of taller pipes. Lee connects with the pipes and he falls to the ground. The dented pipes scatter and some fall on NHL's body. Maxx walks over and picks up a pipe and hits NHL across the back. NHL lets out a scream.)
FJ: "Maxx is just tearing NHL apart with these pipes. This is an outrage. Send in some security and detain Maxx Skabb!"
HS: "They can't. Anything goes in this match."
FJ: "He's murdering someone, though. Send him back to Broward!"
(Maxx sends another thunderous shot to NHL's back with the dented pipe. NHL screams again from the pain. Maxx drops the pips on the ground and spots a chair sitting on a cart. As NHL is trying to get to his feet, Maxx slams the chair down onto NHL's back. NHL arches his back from the pain and falls to his knees. Maxx swings the chair again and it connects with NHL's back again. NHL falls forward, putting his hands out to brace the fall. Maxx hits NHL on the back again with the dented chair. He does it again and tosses the chair to the side, causing the pipes to roll around some more. Maxx picks NHL up by his head and delivers a European uppercut, connecting with NHL's chin and face. Nathan staggers back a few steps, holding his nose. Maxx kicks NHL in the stomach and puts his head under his arm. Maxx gives NHL a suplex onto the pipes on the concrete. When the two land on the floor, they land on the pipes, causing some to just fly away, while the ones that get the direct impact, they bend and dent.)
FJ: "I'm sure Skabb's regretting that suplex right about now."
HS: "Both men are writhing in pain on that concrete in the boiler room. So far, folks, this match has been everything we could have expected. Both men are putting it all on the line and it's for the No Limit Championship. Thus far, every time NHL has defended the title, he has walked away successful on every occassion. Maxx Skabb has the opportunity to change that and defeat the seemingly unbeatable champion. Or, NHL could once again retain the title."
FJ: "I don't know about Maxx defeating NHL. NHL is the man. He IS the No Limit Champion and I don't see that changing at all in the near future."
(The camera switches outside the boiler room to show the referee looking in through a rather large window that is to the right of the door. It's about three feet from the ground and about six feet across with a desk behind it. He can see inside and notices that both NHL and Maxx are starting to get up from the floor after that suplex. The camera switches back inside and shows that Maxx is just about to his feet. He takes grabs NHL and starts to hammer on NHL's back. He lifts him up in a bear hug and puts him on that moving cart. He hits NHL in the head and chest with some right forearm shots. Maxx then takes the cart and starts to push NHL down the opposite part of the room, right towards the water heater. Just before the cart connects, NHL rolls out off the cart and Maxx drives the cart into that hot water heater. The force from the collision causes Maxx to ram himself into that cart and fall forward on top of it. The collision caused the water boiler to crack. There is some water coming out from the bottom of the heater. Maxx rolls off the side of the cart and his arm falls into the line of spray. He yelps and pulls his hand away from it.)
HS: "That is a first for me! I have never seen anything like that in my entire life! Maxx Skabb has just taken out our heating supply!"
FJ: "Don't say that Herb. Look, it's still working. It's just a little dented and is sprouting out hot water. Plus, that's just one of the many boilers. I don't think this huge arena runs off something that can just warm a house."
HS: "You could be right Frank, but why are all of the other pipes originating from that one boiler? It may be true that this won't affect out heat, but that's the heart of our heat, then we are in big trouble."
FJ: "With this storm coming over our area right now, I don't think this arena will stay warm for long if there isn't any heat."
HS: "Quit your whining and call the match."
(NHL rolls to his feet and looks at the boiler and then down at Maxx. Seeing as Maxx is near a boiler that could burst at any moment, NHL grabs Maxx by his head and whips him away from the boiler.)
FJ: "Why would NHL just toss Maxx away from that boiler. I would have let him fry right there."
HS: "I don't know, idiot! Maybe he has a heart and doesn't want premanent damage to happen to Maxx. Some people actually give a damn about other people!"
FJ: "Ok, ok. I just wanted to point something out."
(Maxx stops himself right by a shelf filled with tools and other objects. NHL runs up behind Maxx and attempts a drop kick, but Maxx rolls out of way, hearing NHL's footsteps running up behind him. NHL hops back up to his feet and Maxx punches NHL right in the sternum. Maxx ties up with NHL and knees him in the stomach, causing NHL to falter in his fight for dominance. Maxx delivers a short arm DDT to NHL. NHL's head hits the concrete hard and the force lands NHL on his back. Maxx bends down and grabs NHL by his head and forces him to his feet. Maxx balls up his right hand and hits NHL right in the face. NHL staggers back a few steps. Maxx comes up to hit NHL again, but NHL grabs a random sign that was on a nearby table. NHL hits Maxx before he even sees it coming. The sign, which reads "Danger! High Voltage" gets dented. NHL hits Maxx again in the head with the sign and tosses it to the side. NHL grabs Maxx by the head and deliver's a knee to his face. NHL grabs Maxx by head yet again and leads him out of the main boiler room area and brings him into an adjoining area that seems to be a work station a few feet from the main boiler area. NHL rams Maxx's head off a pipe, but holds onto his head. NHL brings Maxx into the room and attempts to slam Maxx's head onto a table with wires and tools on it, but Maxx puts his hands down and blocks the attempt. NHL tries again, but Maxx blocks it. Maxx then hits NHL in the stomach with his left elbow and rams NHL's head into the table. The blow causes NHL to fall to his back after the hit. Maxx mounts NHL and starts to hammer rights onto NHL's forhead.)
HS: "The intensity between these two is just remarkably scary. This is just an extraordinary back and forth battle."
FJ: "You're so biased Herb. NHL is putting up a great fight with Maxx Skabb and all you can talk about is the superficial. This is what I mean about you."
HS: "Me? I think you're confusing my style with yours just to save face."
FJ: "Don't lie. Just call the match."
HS: "I was and then you have start some kind of trouble. Anyway...sorry about that everyone, Frank is a little delusional right now."
FJ: "No I'm not."
HS: "In any event, this is a great match. Maxx is has gotten off of Nathan after punching him in the head a few times. Maxx has gone to another adjacent room which seems to be right behind the main area, but is only accessable from this workstation. Wait, what's that that Skabb has in his hands there?"
FJ: "I'm not too sure. It's some sort of light blue sack, but I'm not too sure of the contents."
HS: "Wait, what's he doing. He's pouring out the contents. Oh my gosh! That sack is filled with nuts, bolts, and various types of screws."
FJ: "Correction Herb. That sack WAS filled with nuts, bolts, and various other screws."
HS: "You don't think..."
FJ: "I think he is. I think Maxx is going to pick NHL up and drop him on that littered area of small metal."
HS: "That's insane! There has to be at least a thousand little screws and nuts on the ground!"
FJ: "I don't care who goes down on that, but I do know that it's going to hurt like hell."
(Maxx turns around and spreads out some of the screws on the floor when NHL comes up from behind and hits the back of Maxx's head with his right forearm. Maxx falls forward, further scattering some of the screws. NHL scoops them back into a neat pile. Maxx turns around and NHL hits Maxx in the stomach with his black right boot. Maxx doubles over from the shot and NHL sets up Maxx for a suplex. Maxx blocks it and starts to punch NHL in his ribs with some left hand shots. Maxx hits NHL in the stomach with a right knee. NHL releases the suplex hold and Maxx hits NHL again in the gut. NHL lets out a groan of pain. Maxx grabs NHL's arms and drives his knee again into the midsection of NHL. NHL drops to one knee, but Skabb picks NHL back up to his feet and drives another knee into his midsection. NHL drops to one knee again, but Maxx backs up and kicks NHL straight in the side of the head. NHL falls to the floor, holding his head.)
FJ: "Man, that was a powerful shot to NHL's head. You have to think to yourself, Herb, that with these shots to his head, and NHL's sensitive mental state, I don't think he can keep stable for long. I think we could have a visit from Henry soon, if not now."
HS: "I don't know Frank. I know that NHL has been prone to such transformations ever since that match with Atlas when NHL landed on his head when both Atlas and NHL to that steel barricade. After that, Lee was a man possessed, getting disqualified and sparking some heated competition between the Immortals."
(Maxx turns around and looks around the room for something. He spots the work table with scattered tools on it near the opposite side of the room, near the entrance from the main section. He walks over and pulls the table out about seven feet from the wall. He walks over to NHL who is still on the ground and picks him up by the head and guides him towards the table. Maxx lands a few right hands on NHL's head and puts NHL's head between his legs. Maxx tries for a powerbomb, but NHL grabs onto Maxx's legs and stops the powerbomb attempt. NHL stands up and back body drops Maxx through the table full of the various tools and supplies. When Skabb hits the floor, he is covered in some wrenches and screwdrivers and other various tools. NHL drops to the floor, a little winded from the action and then heads to the adjacent room where Maxx pulled that bag of nuts and screws. NHL emerges from the room with a ladder.)
HS: "It looks like NHL is pulling out the hardware."
FJ: "Hardware? That's a ladder! What's NHL got planned with that?"
HS: "I don't know, but I don't think it's going to spell for something good for the challenger. Maxx Skabb is just barely rustling around from that back body drop."
FJ: "And NHL is setting up that ladder, and it looks like it's about twenty feet tall!"
HS: "Whatever is planned with that ladder, it won't be good for anyone."
(As NHL is trying to set up the ladder, Maxx is sitting up, trying to catch his breath. He grits his teeth from the pain he feels in his back. He looks over at NHL and sees that he's got a ladder and is trying to set it up in the middle of the room. Maxx tries to get up, but his back gives out temporarily and he drops back down. He puts his hand down for support, but he lands down on a screwdriver. He winces in pain, but his eyes light up, as if he's gotten an idea. Maxx picks up that screwdriver and puts it in his right hand. He winds back and throws it at NHL. It misses him, but hits the ladder. NHL reacts and brings down in front of him, as some sort of defense. Maxx picks up a wrench and throws it. NHL blocks it, but it gets deflected and hits him in the thigh. NHL winces from the pain and starts to charge at Maxx with the ladder, like a bettering ram. Maxx rolls out of the way at the last second and NHL slams the ladder into the wall. Maxx reaches up and grabls NHL's legs and pulls him down in a school boy pinning position, only Maxx gets on top of and hits Nathan across the face with a right hand. NHL uses his legs to power Maxx off and pushes him back into a broken piece of the table and on the ladder.)
HS: "This battle is just so intense."
FJ: "Yeah, you could cut this intensity with a butter knife it's so thick."
(NHL grabs the ladder out from underneath Maxx and drags it back to where he was setting it up. Before he ges the chance to set it up, NHL hears Maxx call his name. NHL turns around with the ladder in front of him and Maxx drop kicks the ladder back into NHL. He falls backwards and his back lands on those nuts and screws on the floor. Maxx then walks up to NHL and jumps into the air and drops a leg drop onto NHL who is sandwiched between the screws and ladder. Maxx rolls around on the concrete and holds the back of his leg after the collision with the ladder. He slowly gets up and picks up the ladder. He stands it up and drives it into the midsection of the No Limit Champion. Maxx the sets up the twenty foot ladder and starts to climb up it. As Maxx gets to the top, NHL is just about to his feet. Maxx turns around on the ladder, getting ready to do a move, but then he notices that NHL is up to his feet. Maxx starts to scream to NHL, but NHL doesn't listen. Maxx tries to grab some of the low hanging pipes, but he burns his hands from their heat. NHL goes to the side of the ladder and starts to push it over. Maxx, with nowhere to go, braces himself. The ladder tips, but the distance is too short to the ground, so with about six feet left until the ground, the ladder hits the wall and Maxx hits it and slides down to the floor with the ladder following. As Maxx hits the ground, the ladder slides down and lands across Maxx's back as he lies face first on the ground. Meanwhile, NHL is lying on the cold concrete, holding his stomach from the ladder abuse.)
HS: "This is yet something else I haven't seen in my long career in professional wrestling. NHL tipped that ladder over, but the ladder and Skabb both collide with the wall. This is just a remarkable match, something that I hadn't expected from these two young competitors."
FJ: "Yes, Herb. These two have bright futures in the AWA. This match is completely incredible and I want to see more. I think this match has risen to something higher than competing for the No Limit Title, it has risen to a battle for complete dominance. Neither of these two have tried to leave the boiler room since it srated, with the exception of NHL trying, but that was half-hearted. Since then, it's been just complete mayhem, and I still see NHL coming out of this match as the winner."
HS: "You have always been a proponent of Maxx Skabb, why are you rooting for NHL?"
FJ: "Because he has that nasty streak. I can't wait for him to start that up, because when it happens, the match is over. That's NHL's ace in the hole. I'm just waiting for Maxx to crash Nathan's head, then it's all over."
(NHL gets up to his feet and tries to make it to the main boiler room area, but he staggers in his steps and falls onto his stomach. He starts to get up, but he falls to his stomach again. He looks back at Maxx who is still lying under the ladder. NHL starts to crawl towards the main room, but he stops and crawls to the broken table and digs through the tools and doesn't find what he wants. He looks around and finds a few folding chairs in the corner. NHL starts to crawl towards the chairs as he's reaching the chairs, he hears the ladder hit the ground. He stops in his tracks and he looks back towards the source of the noice and notices that Maxx is starting to move around a little bit. NHL crawls faster to the chairs. He reaches them and he turns around to check on Maxx, who is sitting up, holding his chest. NHL struggles with the chairs, but they get tangled. He fights with them, trying to get one free. NHL hears the familiar sound of the ladder moving but decides to ignore it. He finally gets the chair free. He uses it as an aide to get back to his feet. He holds the chair up looking at, but while he's getting up to his feet, Maxx is slowly making his way towards NHL with the ladder in his hands. He walks up behind him, waiting for NHL to turn around. NHL turns around after looking at the chair for a couple of seconds and turns to see Maxx holding the ladder up towards his head. Maxx rams the ladder into the chair with collides into NHL's head. NHL falls backwards and lands sitting down on the concrete. Maxx takes the ladder and tosses it to the side. He rips the chair out of NHL's hands and swings it at NHL's head like a baseball bat, hitting the side of his head. NHL swings to his right from the force of the hit and lands on his face. Maxx bends down and sits NHL back up again and swings the chair down onto the top of NHL's head, wrapping the chair around the top of his head. NHL lands back to his back and seems knocked out cold.)
HS: "Those sinister chair shots to NHL's head. I think that NHL may be knocked out cold."
FJ: "Oh no! It looks like Maxx is going to win. Oh well, good for NHL. Maybe this loss will make him see the light and he won't be so cocky."
HS: "There you go again. STOP FLIP FLOPPING!"
FJ: "I was rooting for Maxx all along. I wasn't flip flopping."
(Maxx starts leaves NHL in the side room and tosses the chair to the side. Maxx stumbles into the main boiler room area. He notices that the water boiler is spouting a lot of water all over the place and there is a good sized puddle on the floor, creeping its way halfway across the room. Maxx goes over to check it out. He pulls the cart backwards to check out the dent in the boiler. As Maxx is about to turn around he gets pushed into the cart and the cart goes into the boiler. The force of the impact causes the boiler to sprout hot water all over the place. Some of it lands on Maxx and he jumps back so he wouldn't get burned anymore. As Maxx backs up, he bumps into something. Maxx turns around to find that it was NHL who pushed him into the cart, only NHL's smiling at Maxx. Maxx throws a punch, but NHL blocks it. Maxx throws another punch, but NHL blocks it, and responds with a shot to Maxx, sending him down to the hot water below. Maxx jumps up and locks up with NHL. NHL ties up with Maxx and over powers him. NHL sets Maxx up for a suplex. Maxx tries to fight out of it, but NHL overpowers Maxx and hits a snap suplex. Maxx lands on the hard concrete with such force that you could hear the collision. NHL hops up and walks over to Maxx.)
NHL: (English accent) "So Maxx, we meet again, eh old chap?"
Skabb: "You son of a bitch! You took me out for two weeks, but now I can truly return the favor now."
NHL: "Have fun trying."
HS: "I think that NHL's just transformed into Henry!"
FJ: "You are correct yet again, Herb. That's why I'm rooting for NHL."
HS: "You just told me that you're rooting for Maxx Skabb a few minutes ago. Stop flipping your choices!"
(NHL slaps Maxx in the face and pulls him up to his feet. NHL kicks Maxx in the stomach and lifts Maxx up in the air for a possible SlapShot, but Maxx slips down and kicks NHL in the kidneys. NHL turns around and pushes Maxx backwards. Skabb turns and notices the desk by the glass window so he turns and finds that dented bucket and throws it at NHL. The bucket hit NHL in the face. With NHL distracted, Maxx runs to that desk and pulls it out about ten feet. He turns around, but NHL is right behind him. NHL punches Maxx in the face and hits him in the chest. Maxx knees NHL in the groin and tosses him on the table. NHL starts to resist, but Maxx continues to battle NHL, but NHL again overpowers Maxx and tosses him to the other side of the table. NHL picks Maxx up by the head and hits him a few times and looks at the window and gets an idea. NHL ties up with Maxx and knees him in the gut. NHL whips Maxx towards that glass window, but Maxx reverses it and NHL gets whipped into that glass window head first with such force that it breaks the glass and NHL goes flying through the window, crash landing outside at the feet of the referee.)
Skabb: "Revenge is mine!"
(The referee looks down at NHL then up at Maxx who is looking through the broken remnants of the window. The referee lifts up NHL's arm and declares him the winner. Maxx looks at the referee in disbelief and sheer frustration. "No Remorse" is heard from the event level of the arena, echoing throughout the hallways. NHL lies on the ground motionless from the attack he just sustained. Maxx leaves the boiler room and starts to argue about the rules of the match.)
Skabb: "You said that I had to leave through the door in order to win."
Referee: "Those rules were made because there is only one way out of a boiler room. You just invented another way to get out of one. The rules stated that the first person to leave the boiler room is the winner. You threw NHL through the glass and he landed outside the boiler room, hence he's the winner."
Skabb: "That's a bunch of bull[BEEP]."
(The referee looks down at NHL, who is still motionless from the attack, and calls for EMTs. EMTs arrive and look after NHL. Though he's still pissed off from losing the fight, Maxx Skabb leaves with a smile on his face."
Skabb: "At least I can walk away from this match with a smile on my face knowing that I was able to walk away from this. But don't worry Nathan, I'll contest this!"
HS: "What an incredible ending to this match. Even though the rules state one thing, I'm sure that this ruling will stay intact, because the referee's ruling is always final. Nathan Hawthorne-Lee has retained his No Limit Championship."
FJ: "I wonder what Maxx Skabb meant when he said that he was going to contest this, knowing full well that the refeee's word is final."
HS: "I don't know, but what I do know is that boiler is completely trashed."
FJ: "Oh no!! The boiler! It's gonna get super cold now."
HS: "Oh, quit your whining. Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, five weeks ago Brian Williams and Low met for the first time in almost one year. Hell On Earth
featured one of the greatest battles in AWA history. Here is how it all unfolded."
(A graphic now says "Hell On Earth 2005, Hell Bowl Chamber".
(Low now walks over to Williams' legs and picks them up. He steps over, turns Williams around and applies the Low
Profile!)
FJ: "The Low Profile! This has won Low many matches!"
HS: "But will it win him this one? Listen to the fans screaming for Williams to fight out of it!"
FJ: "It's surreal, Herb, truly surreal that they would cheer for a two-time murderer!"
HS: "Gimme a break!"
(Williams is obviously in a lot of pain as blood pours down his face and onto the once-blue mat. However, he is actually
able to power up and lift his upper body! Low loses his balance and drops to the mat, releasing the Low Profile in the
process as the fans go wild.)
HS: "I can't believe he still powered out of the Low Profile at this stage in this match!"
(Low pulls Williams onto his feet, but suddenly Williams explodes with an array of lefts and rights to Low's stomach,
finally sending him down with a right to Low's head. He Irish whips Low into the ropes and goes for a big boot, but Low
slides through his legs and then applies the crossface chickenwing!)
FJ: "Low Standard! Low Standard!"
HS: "But Williams fights it!"
(Williams tries to bend forward and throw Low over his shoulder, but Low is able to avoid this. Williams, though, uses
his free arm to repeatedly elbow Low into the side of his head, forcing him to release the Low Standard. Williams spins
around Low, hooks Low's left arm for a half nelson and goes for Fate's Reprisal, but Low uses his right glass-covered fist
and hits Williams right into the face and onto his possibly broken nose, once, twice, three times, until Williams is
forced to release Fate's Reprisal. Low grabs Williams by the head and sends him over with a snapmare, but Williams is
quickly back on his feet. Low with a kick to Williams gut and then the Low Stunner! Low crawls over to Williams and
covers. He gets 1..... 2..... 3! Brian Williams is eliminated! Low wins!)
FJ: "New Champion! New Champion!"
HS: "Low has finally pinned Brian Williams fifteen months after their first meeting and eleven after their last. Low
is now for the sixth time the World Heavyweight Champion!"
We cut to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Five weeks ago, Low and Brian Williams re-established themselves as the two top men in this company. Tonight, a new
chapter in the long feud between Low and Williams will be written. The US title will be on the line next and we are now going
to take you back to Shock several weeks ago."
(The words "Happy versus BlackJack, Shock" appear on the screen as we go back in time several weeks.
(BJ signals that it is time to end this one, as he sets up behind Happy for the Ace of Spades, however when Happy
gets up and turns he catches BJ just in time and nails a belly-to–belly suplex, narrowly avoiding the Ace of Spades. Happy
then looks to his fans, some of them chanting for Happy, some of them chanting for BlackJack and all of them chanting for
an excellent match. Happy then proceeds towards the ropes. With BlackJack laid out in the center of the ring, Happy begins
to climb. He reaches the second rope.)
HS: "Happy seems to be laboring."
FJ: "Well, looking after Lori and his child would certainly be tough, Herb. Speaking of laboring, look at the sweat
coming off Drake’s body."
HS: ----Shakes his head in disgust---
(Happy finally reaches the top rope and then looks down towards BlackJack before signalling that he going for the
Shooting Star Legdrop!)
HS: "OH NO!! He really thinks he is Drake!"
FJ: "Vintage Drake Hyde coming up here folks! The Shooting Star Legdrop... few in the business can execute this better
than Drake can, and you’re all about to see it!"
(Jack, under the assumption that he is actually Drake Hyde, takes the leap of faith, attempting the shooting star
legdrop, however he ends up performing a gawky looking flop on to his back that forces him to come up short of BlackJack,
whom springs up to his feet and runs immediately towards the same ropes. He perches himself on the top turnbuckle before
gracefully taking flight, driving his patented elbow drop right into the heart of Happy. He covers. 1..... 2..... 3!!!!!)
HS: "BlackJack with another victory... Over another legend... This kid is HOT!"
FJ: "The failed return of Drake Hyde. But don’t worry Drake, you can always be in those movies."
The scene cuts back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "BlackJack has truly been on a roll lately. We are now going back to Lethal Louise, who is going to tell us in what
kind of match the United States title will be decided in. Louise?"
LOUISE: "All three match types were favorites of both competitors, but here are the favorites of the fans. Coming in at
number 3 is the best-of-three-falls Match. Following at number 2 is the Scaffold Match, so ladies and gentlemen, the US title
will be decided in the CANADIAN DEATH MATCH!"
FJ: "This is going to be great. Herb, I have a surprise for you."
HS: "Everything has been a surprise tonight"
FJ: "Well I have another for you, not only do I know that this is a Canadian Death Match, but I ve brought a long a friend of mine to help us out with commentary"
HS: "Who would that be Frank?"
FJ: "Toronto Maple Leafs Enforcer, Tie Domi"
(From behind the curtain walks out the five-foot eight inch enforcer, he raises his arms to the Toronto crowd who erupt with a loud cheer, as the number 28 jersey clad Domi, walks to the announce table.)
FJ: "Hey Tie, its good to see you again"
HS: "I am sure this will be a pleasure Tie"
TD: "Good to be here"
HS: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Black Jack and Jack Happy are going to be battling this match out, just down the road at the Old Maple Leaf Gardens, we have satellite footage so that we can see the action first hand."
TD: Actually Herb, that Black Jack and Drake Hyde in case you didn’t notice"
HS: "Its gonna be a long night"
(We look on towards the big screen and we see the empty gardens, in all its nostalgic splendor. Just then we see Black Jack step out of the dressing room, in full hockey equipment and jump over the boards and on to the ice, he slips a little, but grabs the boards and keeps himself up.)
FJ: "It looks as though Black Jack has modified his boots, to get a little more traction tonight"
(Jut then we hear the loud roar, of a machine as it echoes throughout the arena. We see the north end of the boards open up, and atop the zamboni, comes Jack Happy. He drives the zamboni to centre ice, and hops off, he also slips and goes down landing hard on his ass, but quickly gets up. Black Jack and Happy shake hands at centre ice, before backing up and exchanging intense glares. We here a bell come from somewhere and the match is under way.)
HS: "Both men are in full hockey equipment, this could be interesting"
TD: "I loaned Drake my pads"
FJ: "That would explain why they are about six sizes too small"
(We see Jack with his gut hanging out of the little hockey jersey, as he proceeds towards BJ, BJ and Happy, lock up on the ice. Neither man gets and advantage as they try to push each backwards however just slip on the ice. They break the hold, and BJ throws a left jab that lands on Happy. Happy grabs his face, and then slaps at BJ, again this one lands and then BJ leaps forward Happy catches him coming in however. Happy pulls BJ’s jersey up over his head, and then stomps on BJ’s toes. BJ lifts his one foot up and then topples to the ice, after losing his footing. Jack takes off his gloves, and drops down delivering an elbow drop. He brings BJ up with him BJ finally gets the jersey off his head. Happy tries for a clothesline however BJ delivers an arm drag that sends Jack sliding across the ice, all the way till he hits the boards. BJ backs up and runs before dropping down and sliding across the ice, driving his feet into Jack’s face, with a baseball slide. BJ picks up Happy, and whacks his head off the boards.)
TD: Ugh…You gotta get his helmet off BJ"
HS: "Happy seems to be in trouble"
TD: and
FJ: "DRAKE HERB!!!"
(Happy, then reverses another attempt at hitting the boards and picks BJ up and dumps him over the boards, and into the players bench. Happy then climbs into the bench with him, and takes BJ’s helmet off. BJ looks stunned as Happy winds up and whacks BJ across the side of the head with his own helmet. BJ falls backwards, over the boards and back onto the ice. Happy then reaches over and grabs a hockey stick, he opens the door to the bench and walks towards BJ who is trying to get back up. Happy then swings shattering the hockey stick over the back of BJ who crumbles to the ice again.)
TD: Those synthetic hockey sticks are always breaking, when you need them the most."
(Happy picks up BJ, and takes him towards the zamboni, ramming his head off the steel sides, BJ falls backwards again and as Happy walks towards him, Happy grabs him and then picks him up again, he places BJ’s head between his legs and then hoists him up in a power bomb position. BJ however grabs Jack’s helmet and turns it around backwards. Jack releases BJ, and waives his arms around of course being blinded by the helmet. BJ kicks Jack’s feet out and grabs his hockey pants, he then runs with Jack, and rams him head first into the boards. BJ then drags Jack out a little and then mounts the boards. BJ raises his arms and performs a moonsault onto Happy onto the ice. BJ gets up and brings Jack with him He rips Jack’s helmet off, and then delivers a stiff right hook, Jack staggers to his left, and tries to walk it off using the boards to keep himself up. BJ however comes in from behind and continues to walk Happy all the way to the far end of the arena, and then to the centre. He takes Jack’s head and whacks it off the goal post, not once but twice.)
HS: Ouch!"
TD: He would make a great Maple Leaf, hitting the post like that"
(BJ has Happy in trouble, and he tries to capitalize by delivering a DDT onto the ice, however Happy picks him up and spins around smashing BJ’s back off the net’s cross bar. Both men slip on the ice afterwards and tumble down.)
HS: "Now Folks I would like to inform you in more detail that this match will be done in Last Man Standing rules. As you can see we do have a referee to count the men out."
(We see that there is indeed a referee there, as he cautiously makes his way out onto the ice. Once he finally makes it to the end of the rink, he begins to count but only gets to 2 before both men are up. Happy and BJ begin to trade punches and slaps, until eventually they are at centre ice again. Happy then delivers a kick, followed by his unique "slap uppercut" that sends BJ down he picks him up and then takes him off the ice. They go through the dressing room tunnel and into the dressing rooms. Happy whips BJ whom hits the concrete wall. Happy then charges and delivers splash against the wall. He catches BJ and delivers a body slam. Happy then enters one of the dressing rooms, hethen reappears with another hockey stick, he goes to hit BJ, but BJ rolls out of the way, Happy comes forward and BJ delivers a drop toe hold and then takes the hockey stick and drives it into Jack’s midsection, he then drives it down over Happy’s back)
TD: "hat should be two minutes for slashing"
(BJ then kicks open a double door, and whips Jack into the stair well. Jack falls, but gets up quickly and begins to climb the stairs, as does BJ. The two men ascend the stairs, trading punches again. They finally reach the top level of the stairs. Jack grabs a fire extinguisher off the wall as he passes by, BJ follows him and catches a fire extinguisher spray in the face, blinding him. Jack then takes advantage, he hoists BJ up and delivers a Samoan drop. He looks over and then opens the door, to his right, exposing a box room. The luxurious chairs inside are accented with a large meeting table, completely dressed with a steaming hot plate of burritos. Jack’s eye light up, and he grabs BJ and throws him inside the room. Jack charges at BJ who delivers a drop kick on Happy as he comes forward. Happy stumbles backwards, and then BJ charges, however Jack now counters with "The Clown Kick", BJ’s eyes roll back and the ref begins to count. He gets to 7 but BJ gets to his knees and Jack picks his groggy body the rest of the way. Jack hooks in a suplex, and turns he gets BJ up and then drives him down in the suplex through the massive meeting table. Burritos fly through out the room from the impact, BJ grabs at his back in serious pain, as Jack slowly gets up as well. The ref again begins to count. 1………….2………………3……………….4…………….5……………6…………Jack grabs a burrito off the ground and bites into it, adjusting his mask. 7……………8…………….BJ gets up slowly.)
HS: "All the hockey equipment in the world wont cushion that blow"
FJ: "I would agree, and it seems as though Drake’s friend Jack Happy has gotten him onto a burrito eating binge"
TD: "Oops, I forgot to wash that equipment before I lent it to Drake."
(It almost seems as though Jack could hear Tie, as he finishes off the burrito, and then smells the repulsive stench of tie hockey equipment, we see Jack take a whiff of himself in the equipment, and then motion with his hand that it really stinks. Jack doesn’t seem to bothered by such however. He walks back towards BJ who is trying to gain his composer, Jack then grabs BJ and delivers a solid elbow to the top of the head that puts BJ down again. Jack reaches down and attempts to grab BJ, but BJ grabs hold of one of the stray burritos that lays on the ground. BJ swings, burrito in hand, splattering it all over Happy’s face and into his eyes.)
HS: "What a mess"
FJ: "What a counter move"
TD: "Drake has to be blinded after that…. If I am not mistaken that was a hot and spicy beef and bean burrito"
HS: "That’s Jack HAPPY!"
(Jack tries to clear the filling from his eyes, as BJ charges forward with his shoulder down, BJ and Jack hit the wall hard and it gives away, as the drywall caves in and the wooden studs of the wall, are broken in two. BJ then grqbs Happy by the mask, he grabs a hold of Jack’s shoulder pads, and then sends him flying head first into the wall. We see Jack disappear for a moment, however we watch BJ then step through the hole in the wall. He picks Jack up and throws him into the door at the other end of the hallway. Jack goes through the door and we see that now the men are fighting in the stands.)
TD: "That’s the nose bleed section"
FJ: "Speaking of which it looks as though BJ has a nose bleed"
(BJ charges forward with a flying lariat, that puts Happy down. He then picks him up delivering a piledriver onto the ground. The ref counts and gets to 8 however Jack regains his feet, and staggers towards BJ. BJ then opens one of the seats in the stands, and whacks Jacks face off of it. He then returns the favor on Jack and pulls his jersey up over his head. We see Jack’s flab jiggling about as BJ, delivers to or three quick jabs to the stomach. Jack doubles over and BJ delivers a snap suplex onto the seating area of Maple Leafs Gardens. Both men go through the fold down seating. Jack taking much more damage then BJ, as BJ stands up and the ref begins to count. BJ decided to take a rest during the count, he folds down a chair and sits. 1………….2……………..3………….4…………..5 ………….6…………7………….8……….Jack rises from the rubble, of broken chairs, just in time. BJ gets up now and then delivers a hard chop, Jack retaliates with one of his one. They continue swapping chops, all the way out of the stands and into the old concession stands. BJ gets a slight advantage as he delivers a drop kick that puts Jack on the ground. BJ picks up Jack, and then runs him head first into an old nacho stand. BJ then picks up the bigger man and places him on the wheeled cart, and begins to push the cart. He eventually gains some speed and rams him into the wall, the cart shatters and old stale nachos and cold cheese spill out. Jack lays on the floor not moving at all as the ref begins to count again.)
HS: What a war this is."
FJ: "Its for the us title, and these guys are giving it their all"
(The ref counts, and gets 6 before again Happy rises this time covered in cheese sauce, and old nachos. Again as BJ rests, Jack reaches down grabs a nacho, and then dips it in a glob of cheese that is on his shoulder, he eats the Nacho as BJ charges again. This time BJ catches him with a flying forearm, Happy bounces off the wall, and falls, BJ lifts him up again this time, he attempts a face buster, however Happy grabs his legs, and delivers an inverted atomic drop. BJ goes down clutching at his nether region. Happy picks him up, and walks him up another flight of stairs to the balcony. He uses BJ’s head to open the door. We see Jack deliver a powerbomb onto the floor, he picks BJ up and then smashes him into the wall. BJ falls and Jack grabs a table that has been folded up. He unfolds it, and sets it up. He then grabs BJ and locks his head. He lifts him up and delivers a brainbuster suplex through the table.)
HS: "OH MY GOD…this has to be over"
FJ: "No way can BJ can get up from that."
(The referee begins to count he gets to eight as BJ begins to stir, through Jack’s mask we see the disbelief in his eyes that BJ is moving. The ref reaches 9 and BJ groggily stands up. He stumbles forward and into Jack’s arms. Jack then turns and back off.)
HS: I CANT BELIEVE BJ GOT UP!!!"
(Happy steps back and then attempts the clown kick again trying to take BJ’s head off, however BJ ducks under and out of desperation delivers a thunderous superkick of his own. Jack steps back wards and then in a moment no one will ever forget, we see Mr. Jack B. Happy flips up and over the railing of the balcony, falling nearly twenty feet into the stands below, taking out at least three rows of seating.)
HS: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
TD: "MY EQUIPMENT IS GONNA BE RUINED!!!!!"
FJ: "DRAKE IS GONNA BE IN ANOTHER COMA!!!!"
(We look down at Jack Happy, as he lies motionless below us, having fell twenty feet off the balcony. We then see BJ as he looks on shocked, and concerned regarding Jack’s health.)
HS: "Ladies and Gentlemen the ref, has called for the bell. This match is over and BlackJack is your new US Champion, however Jack Happy, looks to be seriously injured."
(The emergency team, is already on the scene, as they tend to Jack, they wont move him being concerned that he may have broken his neck. Finally after moments upon moments of dead silence as the crowd in the ACC, watches on the big screen, we see that Jack has been loaded onto a stretcher, with breathing apparatus attached, and he is being carried out, as BJ quickly tries to get to Happy checking to see what has happened. The feed the destroyed innards of Maple Leaf Gardens cuts out as we see the shock on the faces of the thirty thousand fans in attendance.)
HS:" A sad day for the AWA, our lovable legend Jack Happy, has fallen nearly twenty feet, and we do not know the extent of his injuries. It has been reported that he is being taken to a local emergency centre, from what we know he is not responding to the EMT’s. All we can do is hope and pray that Jack is alright."
(We cut to a final highlight video hyping the World title main event. We see scenes from practically all of Low and Brian Williams' confrontations since October 2003, including all their matches. Special emphasis is put on the finish of Hell On Earth, as well as Low attacking random people over the next several weeks - BlackJack, Amanda, Colin Baird, The Immortals. Each time, Williams was the one chasing Low away, until the day Jacques A'Mer distracted Williams long enough for Low to attack Williams with an ice hockey stick and a chair. We see Low nailing Williams with the chair several times... and Williams asking for more with each chair shot. We then cut back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Fans, we just got a small update on Jack Happy. His wife, Lori, is by his side and he is on his way to the local hospital here in Toronto. He is still not responding to the EMTs. Make sure to check AWA Online AND AWA programming later this week to find out more about Happy's condition."
FJ: "Well, even I am somewhat concerned. But fans, our main event is up next and I would like to ask Lethal Louise to reveal to us the stipulation for the main event."
(We cut to Louise in her suite with a serious look on her face.)
LOUISE: "First of all, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to Lori Happy. I know what it feels like when your significant other gets hurt when in one of those barbaric matches and I truly feel for her."
(Louise smiles.)
LOUISE: "Of course, that was a lie. Anyway, hundred thousands of AWA fans from around the world have voted and they have decided in what kind of match Low and Brian Williams will compete for the World title. Coming it a number 3 is the Stretcher Match. Number 2 is the Ladder Match. Ladies and gentlemen, Williams versus Low will take place in the LOW RULES MATCH!"
(The fans groan as they heer this, knowing very well that this is Low's signature match.)
FJ: "Finally we will get to see just what kind of WRESTLER Williams is."
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time ever on pay-per-view, Low and Brian Williams will wrestle one on one for the AWA World Heavyweight title and it will be in a Low Rules Match!"
(The lights go out and the ominous opening chords of Metallica's "Orion" begin to play. The chords begin to play and after a long pause, a deep blue spotlight starts illuminating the ramp way. Smoke billows from the entrance and all the way down the ramp, until finally Brian Williams slowly steps out from the blue haze. The crowd erupts into very loud cheers.)
HS: "Listen to these fans, listen to them greeting one of their own, listen to the Toronto fans explode."
FJ: "What a bunch of idiots! They're cheering a murderer! They deserve to actually explode!"
HS: "Will you stop?"
(Williams slowly makes his way down the ramp as his hometown fans keep on cheering. He finally reaches the ring, steps over the top rope and enters it.)
HS: "Brian Williams joined the AWA less than two years ago, but he has established himself as one of the AWA's true legends. Not only is he a former Tag Team, Hardcore and TV Champion, no, he is also a two-time former World Heavyweight Champion."
FJ: "And that's what he will stay tonight."
HS: "Well, we will see about that."
(Williams' music fades and the fans immediately start booing as Scott Walker's "Tilt" begins to play. With each pulsing beat of "Tilt" the entire arena lights go on, then out again. The boos intensify as Low steps out from the back, the World title belt around his waist. He wastes no time as he makes his way down the ramp, staring at Williams the entire way down.)
FJ: "Come on, Herb, do what you do best, rattle off all your statistics, tell them about Low's credentials."
HS: "Well, he's doing that all the time, so why would I need to do it?"
FJ: "Because it's your damn job, Herb!"
HS: "Alright, alright. Low is a..."
FJ: "Low is THE greatest wrestler in AWA history! He is the first-ever Grand Slam Champion. He has held every title in the AWA, most of them twice. He took part in every Match Of The Year since 2001. He was inducted into the Hall Of Fame three years ago. He defeated every big name from Happy to Hyde to Mortis to Santini to Williams himself. And he is the first-ever SIX-TIME World Heavyweight Champion!"
HS: "Are you done yet?"
FJ: "No, he is also..."
(Low steps through the ropes and into the ring as we briefly cut to the announcers, where Frank has taken off his headset and keeps on talking into his microphone – but we can't hear a thing! Herb, though, has a big smirk on his face.)
HS: "Listen to that... silence!"
(The fans, though, are anything but silent as Low is inside the ring, proudly displaying his belt to his hometown crowd.)
FJ: "Is this working again?"
HS: "Yes, it is."
FJ: "I wonder what happened there."
HS: "Ummm, I certainly don't know."
FJ: "Listen to these ungrateful fans. He's one of their own and they are booing him out of the building. He doesn't deserve this!"
HS: "NOW he does!"
(The boos intensify even more as Low climbs to the second rope in the corner, raises the belt with his right hand and shows the fans his middle finger with the left hand.)
FJ: "They shouldn't do this! Low is the greatest wrestler they will ever see, much less produce. He is the 2001 Wrestler Of The Year, the man who has held more tit..."
(We cut to the announcers again as Frank is again looking at and slapping his headset. Herb, meanwhile, keeps on grinning. In the ring, Low has handed his World title belt to the referee. The referee holds it high in the air and the fans give it a standing ovation. He then hands the belt to the timekeeper.)
FJ: "Weird, whenever I talk about Low's credentials, my mic gives out."
HS: "Yeah... weird. Anyway, fans, the time for technical malfunctions is over, this is it, this is Low, Williams, the World title, Low Rules."
FJ: "Yes, he does."
HS:
(Low and Williams are now standing across each other in the middle of the ring, staring each other down. The referee calls for the bell and Low starts circling, but Williams just stands there.)
FJ: "What an idiot! Doesn't he know Low's rules?"
HS: "The rules... three judges sit at ringside. They will give a certain amount of points for each action. Holds and counter holds will give the most points, high flying and high impact moves will earn you a lot less points. Any sort of rule breaking, including closed fists, will mean points taken away. If there is no winner at the end of the five five minute rounds, the judges will declare a winner."
(Williams still hasn't moved, which seems to confuse Low. Finally, though, they lock up and Williams immediately uses his strength advantage to push Low into the corner. The referee warns Williams to have a clean break, and Williams does so. Williams walks back into the middle of the ring and Low follows him. The two lock up again and again Williams pushes Low into the corner, followed by a clean break.)
HS: "Low can't match Williams in terms of strength and power, but apparently, Williams knows Low's rules very well."
FJ: "Blah, blah, blah, Herb. But hey, is it me or is really getting cold in here now?"
HS: "Yeah. I mean, it's cold outside, so it appears there was some real damage done to the Air Canada Centre's boiler."
(Williams and Low again lock up in the middle of the ring, and for the third time, Williams pushes Low into the corner. Another clean break, but this time Low hits a LOUD slap across Williams' cheek. The crowd groans.)
HS: "Woah! That was gutsy!"
FJ: "But Williams doesn't look phased."
HS: "Well, look at the look in his eyes."
(Williams tries to hit Low with a right fist, but Low ducks and Williams hits the turnbuckle instead. Low, knowing that attacking Williams in the corner will be seen as breaking the rules, immediately backs off. Williams follows him, but Low quickly rolls out of the ring. The referee tells Williams to step back and allow Low to get back in the ring. Low is in the ring and the two are about to lock up again, but Low ducks and starts hitting Williams' chest with rapid fire knife edge cops, with crowd going "Wooooo!" with each chop. Low then Irish whips Williams into the ropes, but Williams is able to reverse it. As Low comes off the ropes, Williams goes for a big boot, but Low slides through Williams' legs and ends up behind him. Low immediately goes for the Low Standard, but Williams grabs Low's arm and tosses him over his shoulder. Low lands on his feet and immediately charges Williams, but Williams counters with a hip toss. Low tries to sweep Williams' legs out from under him, but Williams sidesteps Low and hits an elbow drop to Low's back.)
HS: "Good counter there from Williams!"
(Williams makes good use of their current position as he locks in a crippler crossface! Low, however, is able to roll over and out of the hold. He hits three more chops, but the fourth one is countered when Williams simply grabs Low's arm and throws him over with an arm drag. Low charges Williams again, but Williams nails him with a fist right to his face. Low drops to the mat and then rolls out of the ring.)
FJ: "He cheated! He shouldn't punch Low that way if he expects to impress the judges."
HS: "But maybe Williams expects to win WITHOUT the judges. Besides, he pretty much outwrestled Low there, wouldn't you say, Frank?"
FJ: "Low is the greatest technical wrestler the AWA has ever..."
(We can hear Herb chuckling as Frank's mic seems to have problems again. Low, in the meantime, has been walking around the ring, obviously frustrated. As Low walks by the announce table, he motions for Frank. The two briefly talk and then both return to their work place.)
FJ: "Dam this Canadian equipment. And by the way, Low wanted me to tell everybody how he is just playing with Williams and that he will use Williams' strengths to his own advantage, just as he did with The Fish!"
HS: "Okay."
(Back in the ring, Low and Williams lock up again, but Low quickly goes to his knees and pulls Williams' legs out from under him. Low drops an elbow to the inside of Williams' leg, but quickly floats over and grabs Williams' left. He applies an armbar while driving his knee into Williams' armpit.)
FJ: "Look at Low's knee. Those are the small details that make him as good as he is."
(Suddenly, however, Williams moves his legs up and pulls Low over with a headscissors on the ground! Low obviously didn't expect that, but he has little time to wonder as Williams takes him over again, this time with a fireman's carry. Williams holds on to Low's arm and applies an armbar of his own, but Low quickly rolls over and gets back to his feet. Williams still applies the armbar as Low pushes him into the ropes. Williams has to release the hold and Low sends him across the ring with another Irish whip. Low catches Williams and wants to hit a spinebuster, but Williams simply shifts his weight and buries Low beneath himself. Williams lands on top in a cover position and the referee counts..... 1..... but Low grabs the bottom rope to break count.)
HS: "So far it's been mostly Williams."
(Both men are back up and Low back on offense as he grounds the approaching Williams with a drop toehold. Low immediately goes to a modified version of the Indian deathlock, but he releases that soon, floats over and applies a side headlock. This doesn't last long either, though, as Low spins around and applies a front facelock.)
FJ: "Now Low is finding his groove."
HS: "That will certainly get him a few points with the judges, but Williams has had much more impact so far."
(Williams is already making his way to his feet again. Low tries to hold him down with the front facelock, but Williams finally powers himself up and gets rid of Low with a backdrop.)
HS: "Impressive power display from Brian Williams! And the fans are eating it up."
(Williams charges Low and sends him back down with a clothesline. Williams then pulls Low up and Irish whips him into the ropes. He catches him, lifts him up and presses him high over his head. Before he can slam Low to the mat, though, Low is able to struggle free after raking Williams' eyes. Low now goes for a clothesline of his own, but Williams ducks and catches Low with a sleeper hold.)
HS: "Low has certainly lost a few points from his eye rake, but he may lose much more from this sleeper hold!"
FJ: "Well, he IS Low! Look at that!"
(Williams is holding on to the sleeper hold, but Low is able to counter the sleeper by sneaking behind Williams, lifting him up and sending him down with a back suplex. Low goes for a kneedrop, but Williams moves out of the way. He grabs Low's foot and applies an ankle lock.)
HS: "Look at Low screaming in pain! He's trying to reach the ropes, but he's too far away!"
FJ: "Can you imagine having your foot twisted like that by HIM?"
(Low is still unable to reach the ropes and Williams actually pulls him into the middle of the ring. Low appears to be on the edge of tapping out as the crowd cheers wildly for Williams. Suddenly, the bell rings and the referee tells Williams to release the ankle lock, which he immediately does.)
FJ: "Thankfully, the first round is over. That was close, Low."
HS: "The first round is indeed over and both men now have to go to a neutral corner each. There will be a one minute break between each round. After each round we will be informed by the judges what exactly their ruling is."
FJ: "You know, the lesser educated people probably think Williams dominated this round, but Low just showed Williams what this match is about. Williams had him... and then the bell rung."
HS: "Fans, I just got word from the judges. The three judges judge this round 2-1 for Brian Williams!"
FJ: "Pffffffffffft..."
(Low is rubbing his ankle in the corner as Williams stares him down the entire time. The bell rings and the second round officially starts. Williams walks over to Low's corner, but Low again slides out of the ring. As the referee tells Williams to back off, Low slides back into the ring as Williams' back is turned towards him. Low hits a chop block into the back of Williams' knee, dropping the big man to the mat. Low stomps away at the leg, then picks it up and goes for a figure four leglock, but Williams is able to kick off and face first into the corner. Williams is soon up on his on feet and storms at Low, crushing him in the corner with an avalanche.)
FJ: "Ouch, look at the impact on Low's back!"
(Indeed Low is holding his back, but Williams doesn't back off as follows with a knee to Low's kidney area before pulling him out of the corner again. Williams wraps his arm around Low, lifts him up and hits a back suplex. He covers Low and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out.)
HS: "Williams with the second cover attempt in this match. Let me remind you that covers will get you points as well."
(Williams pulls Low up and then Irish whips him into the turnbuckle, sending him back first into the corner with a loud thud. Upon impact, Low holds his back and drops to his knees. Williams picks Low up, hooks his head, lifts him up and then holds him in a vertical suplex position for several seconds before dropping him down. Again, Low holds his back.)
FJ: "Well, his power is STILL impressive."
HS: "He held him there for probably six or seven seconds."
(Williams sits Low up, puts his own knee between Low's shoulders and then applies a reverse chinlock.)
FJ: "How creative."
HS: "It is a hold nonetheless, a hold which will give him more points with the judges and a hold Low has to break, after all."
(Williams holds on to the chinlock, driving his knee deeper and deeper into Low's back. Finally Low is able to get to his side and up to his knees. He connects with a number of elbows to Williams' stomach, pushes him against the ropes and then Irish whips him across the ring. He makes the mistake, though, of ducking down too early and Williams is able to counter with a swinging neckbreaker.)
HS: "A rare rookie mistake from the World Heavyweight Champion."
(Williams pulls Low up to his feet yet again, only to send him down to the canvas again with a sidewalk slam. Williams covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out. He then walks over to Low's legs and picks his right leg up. Just as Low did earlier on, Williams comes crashing down on the leg with a big elbow drop, but unlike Low he follows up with another one, a third one, a fourth one and finally, a fifth one. After the fifth elbow, however, he holds on to the leg and pulls it back, making Low scream out in pain again.)
HS: "Williams seemingly is out to prove that not only is he a huge, powerful monster, no, he is also an underrated wrestler."
FJ: "Yeah, Low already admitted that, Herb."
HS: "I know about that. Well, actually Williams is rarely in situations where he actually HAS to wrestle."
HS: "Yeah, I mean, the fans look that way as well."
FJ: "Especially that chick with the tight t-shirt right behind us."
HS: "Pervert."
(Williams gets back to his feet, but holds on to Low's right leg. After kicking the back of Low's thigh several times, Williams applies a standing figure four leglock on Low.)
HS: "A move rarely seen. Not just from Williams, but in general."
(Low is able to counter relatively quick, however, as he reaches up, grabs Williams' head and rolls him over into a small package to get the 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Williams immediately regains control with a legdrop.)
HS: "This was Low's first cover in this match."
FJ: "Yeah, so?"
HS: "Nothing."
(Williams reaches for Low's leg again, but this time Low is able to counter by kicking Williams right into his face with his free foot. Williams holds his nose and backs off, giving Low the chance to get back to his feet. Low tries to stagger Williams with yet another series of knife edge chops, but Williams is once again able to counter and catch Low in a full nelson.)
FJ: "What's wrong with Low today?"
HS: "Nothing, it's just Williams who is showing us that he knows how to wrestle. Look how tight that full nelson is locked in. When a man as big, as heavy, as strong as Williams applies this hold, it becomes nearly impossible to escape."
(Williams has his fingers locked and the two men are standing in the middle of the ring, underlining Herb's comment about the full nelson being hard to escape. Low finally drops down to one knee, giving Williams even more leverage while applying the hold.)
FJ: "That swinging neckbreaker earlier on probably did some damage to Low's neck and now it's arched forward in a really unnatural way."
HS: "And Low STILL can't escape!"
(He doesn't have to anyway, as Williams suddenly pulls Low up with full force, lifts him up and sends him crashing to the mat with a full nelson slam. The Toronto crowd cheers this high impact move loudly. They count along as Williams covers. He gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out.)
FJ: "That was close, Herb! But Low still made it."
HS: "And look at Williams basically stalking the World Heavyweight Champion now."
(Williams is indeed waiting for Low to get up, but he stays relatively close and always behind Low. As Low makes it to his feet, Williams sneaks up from behind, wraps one arm around Low's arm and neck, the other around Low's chin and then lifts him up.)
FJ: "No! No! No!"
HS: "Fate's Reprisal! This could be it! Williams' finisher!"
(Low is trying to get back to the ground to somehow get out of the hold, but Williams holds on to Fate's Reprisal. Finally, Low's motions become slower and it appears he is passing out. The referee checks and asks him if he wants to give up, but Low doesn't answer him. The referee lifts Low's arm and it drops once..... twice..... and THE BELL RINGS! The second round has just ended.)
FJ: "My heart almost stopped! It seemed as if Low was finished when the bell rang!"
HS: "There is no doubt that Williams outperformed Low on all fronts in this round. Low had a few glimpses of offense, but in the end Williams was dominant from bell to bell."
FJ: "Look, there's this judge coming over to us."
HS: "It's just as I said, Brian..."
FJ: "You think you're something special now, Herb?"
HS: "I'll simply ignore you. Anyway, according to the judges Williams takes this round 3-0."
(Low is slowly coming to himself in the middle of the ring while Williams looks on from his corner. Low is now slowly crawling over to his corner, but the minute is almost up. Low grabs the top rope in an effort to pull himself up, but before he can get any rest, the bell rings again and the third round is underway.)
FJ: "That's unfair! He couldn't even catch his breath!"
HS: "He shouldn't have slept so long."
FJ: "Funny, Herb."
(Williams is walking over to Low and tries to pull him into the middle of the ring, but Low holds on to the top turnbuckle, wanting a few extra seconds of rest. Williams, however, doesn't allow him the rest. He reaches around and picks Low up as if for an inverted atomic drop. Low, though, holds on to the turnbuckle and finally the turnbuckle pad is torn off of the actual steel turnbuckle.)
HS: "Oh, come on, didn't we have enough violence tonight?"
FJ: "It was just an accident, Herb."
HS: "Right."
(Williams finally connects with an inverted atomic drop. He never releases Low, though, and goes for a second inverted atomic drop. This time, however, Low holds on to Williams' neck and applies a modified front facelock from his current position. Williams obviously didn't expect this and quickly releases his grip of Low, yet Low doesn't do the same.)
FJ: "Low with an unexpected counter, unexpected for Williams at least, but in the case of Low you ALWAYS have to expect a counter."
HS: "The referee is checking to see if this is an illegal choke, but it doesn't appear that way. And Williams drops to a knee!"
(Williams is down on one knee as Low tightens his grip. Suddenly, however, Williams reaches around Low, gets back up to his feet and then slams Low down with a front spinebuster. As Low gets up to his feet, Williams sneaks up from behind, trying to apply the full nelson again. Low counters with a well-placed elbow to the side of Williams' head and grounds Williams with a quick snapmare. Williams immediately gets up again, but this time Low is successful pulling Williams' legs out from under him and dropping him to the mat. Low quickly picks up Williams' legs, steps over, turns him around and applies the Low Profile!)
FJ: "Low Profile! This could be it!"
HS: "Williams is far removed from the ropes. But look at this!"
(Williams doesn't seem to be weakened enough as he starts powering his upper body up. Low finally loses balance and drops to the mat, but he quickly jumps over to Williams' side and applies a cripple crossface.)
HS: "Williams tired this earlier on, but was less successful than Low is right now."
(Low pulls back on Williams' head, putting a lot of stress on Williams' neck and shoulder. Williams tries to reach for the ropes, but still he is too far away from them to grab them. However, he is able to get up one leg, then the other and finally he powers himself up while Low is STILL applying the crippler crossface!)
HS: "Look at his strength!"
FJ: "He is lifting up 254 pounds that are applying a crippler crossface on him."
(Williams appears as if he is going for a sidewalk slam again, but Low can finally shift his weight and Williams drops to the mat with Low still applying the crossface. The referee checks if Williams wants to give up, but Williams says no. After a few more moments, Williams is able to power himself up yet AGAIN, and this time he is able to half stumble, half run into a corner, slamming Low into the turnbuckle.)
HS: "I can't help but be impressed by this man's power. And the fans are into it, into HIM!"
FJ: "Yeah, I can't believe it either."
(Williams is holding his shoulder and Low tries to seize the opportunity to apply the Low Standard. Williams, though, counters by dropping to the mat and sending Low down with a drop toehold. Both men are back up and Williams is able to grab Low's arm. He spins him around and then applies a cobra clutch. After holding Low for several seconds, Williams attempts to lift Low up into a cobra clutch suplex, but Low simply stomps on Williams' foot, causing him to release the hold. Without hesitating a split second, Low grabs Williams' head, drops down and hits the Low Stunner.)
FJ: "The Low Stunner! Cover him! Cover him!"
HS: "That's how Low won at Hell On Earth!"
(Low immediately covers Williams and the referee counts 1..... 2..... and a close kick out! Low slams his fists on the mat in frustration. He doesn't waste any time, though, and pulls Williams back up. He Irish whips him into the ropes, but Williams reverses. He picks Low up as he charges him and presses him high above his head.)
FJ: "When he tried this earlier Low countered."
HS: "Not this time."
(And indeed Williams is able to press Low above his head a few times before slamming him down to the mat. Williams immediately goes into the ropes and goes for an elbow drop. Low is able to roll out of the way at the last second and Williams lands flat on his back. Low with an elbow drop of his own, but he misses, too. Williams now connects with an elbow drop and covers, but before the referee can even begin to count, Low drapes his leg over the bottom rope. Williams pulls Low up and then scoops him up, apparently going for a shoulder breaker, but Low is able to slide off of Williams' shoulder. Landing behind him, he wraps his arms around Williams' waist and sends him over with a HUGE German suplex!)
FJ: "What a move!"
HS: "I have to say I'm impressed by Low as well!"
(Even the fans are giving Low a respectable ovation for the suplex. Both men, however, are now on their backs as the referee starts to count. Low is the first man up while Williams is still on the mat. Low looks at Williams and then starts climbing the ropes.)
HS: "A rare occasion of Low climbing to the top rope."
FJ: "Well, don't forget he is a two-time Cruiserweight Champion. His style has become more mat-oriented in recent years, but he knows how to take it to the air."
(Low wastes no time as he comes off the top rope with a flying legdrop, but again, Williams moves at the last split-second. Low comes crashing down on the mat with a loud thud. The referee begins his count, but suddenly, the bell rings.)
HS: "Round three is over."
FJ: "Good thing for both men. After the huge German suplex and the missed legdrop this could have been close for either one of them."
HS: "This round was much more competitive than the second one. There were a lot more exchanges and a few more high impact moves. As Low and Williams are taking their well-deserved rest, we await the judges' decision for round three."
(We see a middle-aged man walking over to the announcer, handing them a piece of paper.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, the judges judge the third round 2-1 for Low!"
FJ: "We all know that Low is a slow starter, now he's back in the game."
(The bell rings to signal the start of the fourth round. Low is leaning chest first in his – exposed – corner. As he turns around, he sees Williams running at him. Low quickly sidesteps Williams and Williams runs right into the exposed turnbuckle!)
FJ: "Big mistake from the challenger! This could cost him dearly, he ran shoulder first into the exposed turnbuckle."
HS: "Low is going for the Low Standard!"
(The crowd gets on his feet as Low goes for the Low Standard, but Williams is able to hold on to the top rope. The referee warns Low to stop his Low Standard attempt and Low does so. As Williams turns around, Low grabs him by the arm, drags him to the mat and applies a Fujiwara armbar.)
HS: "Williams made a big mistake and Low is capitalizing on it."
FJ: "This is Low's style, this is what he does. Capitalize on an opponent's mistake, work on a body part, WIN!"
(Williams is slowly crawling towards the ropes. He is too far away at first, but he uses all the strength as well as all the leverage his 7 foot frame gives him to finally grab the ropes. Low gets immediately up to his feet, though, and pulls Williams into the middle of the ring. There he applies an ankle lock and Williams, again, is too far away from the ropes.)
FJ: "Just as Williams did earlier, Low applies an ankle lock."
HS: "But Williams powers himself up."
(Williams is able to lift up his upper body using all the strength in his arms. Suddenly, Low jumps forward and nails Williams with an elbow drop to the upper back and shoulder region. Low grabs Williams' arm and applies a hammer lock.)
HS: "This is what Low did with BlackJack several weeks ago."
FJ: "Well, the difference is that BlackJack was able to counter."
(Low floats over so that his knees are now right above Williams' head, while still applying the hammer lock. He reaches underneath Williams' other arm and then turns him around in a cover position. The referee counts 1..... 2..... and Williams kicks out. Low immediately grabs a side headlock, but Williams is able to get to his feet. He pushes Low into the ropes, but as Low charges Williams, he connects with a quick lariat that actually drops the 350-pounder.)
HS: "Imagine the force behind this lariat to actually knock down Williams on the first attempt."
FJ: "Low covers!"
(Low covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Low immediately grabs Williams' arm and applies a cross armbar.)
HS: "Low really tries to go for a submission here, which is no easy task when it comes to Brian Williams."
FJ: "Or he may simply try going for the time-limit draw and then collect as many points with the judges as possible."
HS: "Both tactics are possible, and both are smart tactics."
(Williams is able to get to one knee and roll up Low. He covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Both men are back up and Williams goes for a clothesline, but Low ducks and drags Williams down for another Fujiwara armbar attempt, but this time Williams rolls through and both men are back up on their feet. Low, however, grabs Williams' legs and pulls him to the mat. He stomps at Williams' leg, once, twice, three times, and then steps over to apply a figure four leglock.)
HS: "There just is no end to Low's repertoire of submission holds."
FJ: "And Williams is struggling. As I said, Low is a slow starter, but once he starts, he goes all the way."
HS: "The longer this kind of match goes, the more it represents a disadvantage for Williams."
(Williams is in obvious pain as he is clutching his knee while Low keeps applying pressure. The referee asks if Williams wants to submit, but he shakes his head no. Both men are sitting up and Low yells at Williams to give up, but Williams still shakes his head. Finally, Low's temper takes over and he slaps Williams across the face AGAIN. Not once, not twice, but three times!)
HS: "Low must have some sort of death wish!"
FJ: "Look at Williams' eyes!"
(The look on Williams' face seems to even scare Low. Williams' clenches his fists, but before he start hitting Low he looks at the referee who is warning him that using the closed fist would mean a loss of points. Williams' channels all his remaining strength as the Toronto fans cheer him on and tries to turn himself and Low onto the stomach.)
FJ: "Hold on, Low, grab the ropes, do SOMETHING!"
HS: "Low won't grab the ropes, he's too smart for that mistake."
(Finally, Williams is able to turn around and then push his upper body up, putting all the pressure on Low's leg. Low briefly screams in pain but then releases the figure four leglock quickly.)
HS: "Low probably should have avoided the slaps there."
(Low is the first men up on his feet. Williams slowly follows, using the ropes to pull himself up. As he turns around he sees Low running at him, but surprisingly, he gets his leg up and hits Low with a big boot, sending him to the mat. His under leg, however, gives out under all his weight after both legs have been worked over by Low.)
FJ: "Low's tactic is working yet again, Williams' legs are giving out. How is he going to carry his 350-pound frame if both legs are hurt?"
(Both men are slowly getting back up to their feet. This time when Williams turns around Low is able to lift him up, spin him around hit the spinebuster that Williams countered earlier on. He holds on to Williams' legs, picks them up, steps over, turns Williams around and applies the Low Profile!)
HS: "The fans are almost booing Low out of the building."
FJ: "And I don't think Williams will be able to power out of this now that he's severely weakened."
(Indeed it looks as if Williams does no longer have the strength to power up. He tries to reach the ropes, but he is too far away and does not have the strength to crawl nearer. Low is pulling back on Williams' legs as both men are screaming – Williams in pain, Low yelling at Williams to give up.)
HS: "It is getting colder inside Air Canada Centre, but the match AND the crowd are getting hotter by the minute!"
FJ: "Williams gave up! Williams gave up!"
(Low releases the hold as the bell rings. The fans are briefly confused until the referee makes it clear to them that the fourth round has just ended.)
HS: "The end could come any second now during the fifth round. Who knows if this match goes the distance?"
FJ: "I just got the judges' decision, Herb, and they gave this round 3-0 to Low. Both men have won a round each, so whoever wins this round on points will win the match AND the World Heavyweight title!"
HS: "This is it, ladies and gentlemen, Low, Williams the World title... the decision is right around the corner."
FJ: "No longer than five minutes."
HS: "No longer than five minutes..."
(The bell rings to signal the start of the fifth round. Low now becomes the aggressor as he immediately walks over to Williams, who is still leaning in his corner. Low attacks with a series of knife edge chops. Williams attempts to counter with a kick to Low's midsection, but Low is able to hold on to Williams' foot. He pulls Williams into the middle of the ring and then sweeps Williams' leg out from under him, using his own leg and causing Williams to drop to the mat. Low goes for the Low Profile again, but Williams rolls him up and gets 1..... 2..... NO! Close kick out!)
HS: "The fans are going nuts, Williams escaped the Low Profile this time!"
FJ: "But Low seems to have gotten a second wind. This has got to be the adrenaline as Low is like a Rottweiler stuck to his victim!"
(Low pulls Williams up and applies a hammer lock once again. However, he simply pushes Williams forward and into the corner with the exposed turnbuckle. The referee warns Low as the fans soundly boo him.)
HS: "Low is risking this round by going for this cheap tactic."
FJ: "Wrong, Herb, he is sacrificing a few points in order to get the final edge."
(As Williams staggers towards Low, Low grabs Williams' left arm and reaches around his head to apply the chicken wing crossface.)
FJ: "Low Standard! He's got him! The Low Standard!"
HS: "Not quite! Williams is not on the mat yet and Low has trouble bringing him down!"
(Williams successfully avoids Low dropping him to the mat, but he cannot counter the chicken wing crossface. He tries to hit Low with a series of elbows, but Low is able to move his head out of the way.)
HS: "This is how Williams countered the Standard at Hell On Earth! It doesn't work today!"
(Finally, Williams frees himself with one powerful elbow to Low's head. Williams sneaks up behind Low and goes for the half nelson. He tries to lock his arm around Low's chin, but Low gets his arm up to counter.)
HS: "Williams going for Fate's Reprisal! This is just like Hell On Earth! Low counters!"
(Low is able to pull Williams over in a hip toss-like maneuver. Williams charges Low but is met by a kick to his stomach. Low goes for the Low Stunner, but Williams pushes him into the ropes. Low ducks Williams' clothesline attempt, kick to the midsection, Low Stunner! Low covers and gets 1..... 2..... 3!)
HS: "No! Nooooo!"
FJ: "Damnit!"
HS: "Williams grabbed the bottom rope!"
FJ: "I can't believe it!"
(The entire Air Canada Centre is on its feet now. They, too, felt this was the end. They are chanting Williams' name as he is slowly making his way to his feet. Low is in a complete rage now as he yells at the referee and grabs him by his shirt's collar.)
HS: "Low is risking valuable points at this stage in the match by grabbing the referee!"
(Williams is slowly making his way back up. Low is waiting behind him, apparently preparing for yet another Low Stunner. The fans are chanting for Williams to be careful. Williams finally makes his way up. As he turns around Low connects with another kick to the stomach and goes for the Stunner, but Williams holds on, hooks Low's head and hits a reverse evenflow DDT!)
HS: "Blinded Fate! Blinded Fate!"
(Williams crawls over, hooks Low's leg and the referee counts 1..... 2..... 3! Brian Williams regains the World title!)
FJ: "Noooooo!"
HS: "It's over! The match is over! Brian Williams defeated The Legendary Low in his own match to win his third World Heavyweight title!"
(The atmosphere is at a fever pitch as the Air Canada Centre explodes with cheers! Fireworks go off as "Orion" begins to play. The referee hands the belt to the sitting Williams as the ring announcer proclaims Brian Williams the three-time AWA World Champion.)
HS: "We had less than 90 seconds to go and Low looked to be on his way of winning this round, but Williams proved, throughout this match and especially the end, that he is an accomplished wrestler, as he countered the Low Stunner into the Blinded Fate!"
(Williams finally gets to his feet. He holds the belt into the air as his hometown fans stand in celebration. Finally, Low slowly makes his way up, too. He sits on his knees and, with a disappointed look on his face. Williams walks towards Low and offers him his hand.)
HS: "And Williams does as he said he'd do – he's offering Low his hand to show him the way, to show him the error of his ways."
(The fans cheer for Low to take Williams' hand and make this a happy ending for Toronto natives. Low gets up to his feet and looks at Williams' hand. He stares at Williams, then reaches out for Williams' hand, but before he touches it, he spits Williams in the face!)
HS: "I can't believe it!"
FJ: "What? This isn't a fair gesture, this is Williams trying to judge Low as a human being!"
(The fans boo as Low simply turns his back towards Williams and walks out of the ring. As Low walks up the ramp, Williams walks over to the ropes. The camera focuses on his face and we see the anger build in Williams' eyes.)
HS: "Look at Williams' face! It is red from anger! Look at his veins almost popping out of his head! It's that look filled with extreme malice."
(Finally, "Orion" starts playing again and Williams switches from staring at Low to staring at the World title belt.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, this has been AWA Vortex 2005. We have brand new Tag Team Champions, a brand new United States Champion, and Brian Williams has won his third World title. Ladies and gentlemen, Herb Summers and Frank Jackson say good bye from Toronto, Ontario, Canada..."
