AWA VORTEX, February 25, 2007, New Orleans, LA, Louisiana Superdome
(We cut to a blank black screen and we see the AWA Logo fade into view and then out and we find outselves in darkness again. A split second later, we see a blue honeycomb screen and we see pop up the Fast Lane Battle Royal and its participants, Kage, Happy Funball, Tony Rios, Dalton Darby, Andreas Lasiewicz, Ron Barker, Stan Jones, Chris Palmer, and Crack Mendez. We see a wormhole open up and we see a red honeycomb background. We travel through the vortex and on the other side the now white text is black.)
VOICE: "You want a shot at the United States, you need to prove your worth by winning either a Lumberjack Elimination match, Over the Top Rope Elimination match, or a Pinfall Elimination match in order to find yourself in the fast lane."
(We get pulled back through the vortex, leaving behind the black, tainted text. AWA Tag Team Championship appears in bright, white text. Following that, the wormhole appears and as we get drawn to the other side, the darker side, we find that it changes completely to Split Image vs. Downstairs from Purgatory vs. The Canucks vs. The Association vs. Mashed Underwear and the same black text.)
VOICE: "I want to see someone team up on another person. I want to see men ravaged by the worst match imaginable. I want to see someone do whatever it takes to win gold by winning either a Scaffold match, a TLC Ladder match, or a Hardcore Elimination match. Do it, or else!"
(The red honeycomb disappears through the light and distortion of the vortex as it closes in front of us, leaving behind the previous black text. A new set of words appear in white spelling out AWA Cruiserweight Championship. The vortex opens up once more and we're sucked away from the blue honeycomb and into the other side. The text changes to show Javex Valerius vs. John Williams in black text.)
VOICE: "Some people may be light as a feather and some may be able to soar through the air unlike any others. I don't care! I want to see someone crash and burn from the air! I want to see someone being carried out because that's the only way a cruiserweight match will be enjoyable. If you can succeed in either a Submission match, an "I Quit" match, or a Sandman match!"
(As we pass from the red to the blue, we see the vortex close in front of us, leaving behind the previous match and showing us now AWA No Limits Championship, Best of Three Falls. The vortex rips open again and sucks us into the red, revealing Logan Alexander vs. Snake in black.)
VOICE: "Now look here, we have a chaotic snake pit full of a bunch of nobodies. The only thing that'll make this better would be to slip in something special. Win for me an Inferno match with a Mystery Hall of Fame Partner for Snake, a Casket match with a mystery Hall of Fame Special Referee, or a Parking Lot Brawl with a Mystery Hall of Fame Partner for Logan Alexander. Failure to comply will result in an education in pain!"
(From the depths of the red underworld, we arrive back into the realm of the good-hearted blue overworld. In white text we see Brian Stevens & Onslaught vs. Jai Williams & Malakai and then that vortex opens up, revealing to us the red honeycomb area and we get sucked inside. The text has gone from white to black instantaneously and we hear that menacing voice again.)
VOICE: "With all of these bullies whining and crying about this and that, it's now time for someone to step up and show them exactly who they're screwing with. If you happen to pick up a win in a Hell and Back match, a Stairway to Hell match, or a Street Fight then you may just earn my respect."
(We see the blue honeycomb again and we also see AWA United States Championship in white text. The wormhole rips open and we get sucked into the red honeycomb area and the text has changed to a black color saying A.C. Smith vs. Jeff Christianson.)
VOICE: "Of all the things to do, you simply don't whine about someone picking on you. BE A MAN! But you know what? If you want to win me back, you better win a No Limits Rules match, a Last Man Standing match, or an Amateur wrestling match. Do that and maybe I might give a damn for what happens to you."
(Back in the blue world, we see AWA World Heavyweight Championship and then we see the vortex open up. We get sucked into the red honeycomb area and the text changed to Nathan Hawthorne-Lee vs. Gabriel, in the black text.)
VOICE: "In a world where no one cares what you believe, there is always the epic battle between good and evil. To make this one interesting, it's the main attraction of the night, so it better not be a sleeper. If it's to keep my interest, then someone better impress me in a Buried Alive match, a Crucifix match, or a Street Fight. And since it's the main event, it better be brutal or else you'll stay right here in HELL with me!"
(The Vortex logo appears on the screen and then we cut to the arena floor where we share the scene with our announce team.)
HS: "Welcome everyone to Vortex, the third annual pay-per-view event that allows you, the fans, to pick the matches and stipulations for our guys. I'm Herb Summers and I'm sitting beside Frank Jackson. Frank, what match are you looking forward to tonight?"
FJ: "I'm looking forward to the main event! The World title is going to be on the line and it'll definitely be one for the record books, I'm sure of it. Hell, Gabriel's going to win!"
HS: "I'm glad you're as biased as ever tonight."
FJ: "You're an old smoothie."
HS: "It looks like we're getting right down to business tonight."
FJ: "YES!"
OOC NOTE: Warning! Past Tense Alert!
(The AWA camera found Snake as he was walking into the arena. Faith was on his right side and a large duffle back was thrown over his left shoulder. The camera followed them through the building and finally into there locker room, were Snake tossed the bag into the corner and plopped down into a chair. Faith on the other land looked at him with obvious concern in her eyes.)
FAITH: "Are you sure you want to do this? You do remember what happened the last time you were at an AWA Pay per View and there was fire involved."
(Snake shuttered slightly and growled.)
SNAKE: "That was Brian Williams and Logan is nowhere near the talent or vindictiveness of Brian."
FAITH: "Your still not the slightest bit concerned?"
SNAKE: "Only a fool wouldn't be concerned after the past I have had with this company and fire Faith, but that won't stop me from doing what I came here to do. if I have to burn Logan alive like a piece of chicken then I will!"
FAITH: "Just be careful lover. Logan means business this time and he is twice as dangerous as before."
SNAKE: "Yeah, so he says. I think my present will show him just how malicious I can be."
FAITH: "OH! You got him a present?"
(Snake nods and makes a rattling sound behind his teeth with his tongue. Faith's eyes widened and she squealed and leapt into his lap and the two began to kiss.)
HS: "What could this present be? Does he want to show Logan he is like a baby compared to him and send him a rattle?"
FJ: "No, That's not Snakes style. I think its something far more devious."
(The cameras go to the back where we see Larry Porter, he is standing next to one of the challengers in the Battle Royal.)
LP: "Hello, AWA fans this is Larry Porter, I am here right now next to one of the newest superstars in the AWA. He is "The Main Attraction" Tony Rios."
TR: "How are you doing tonight, my name is Tony Rios and I have come to the AWA to make a impact and tonight is the perfect opportunity to make that impact. Just think about it what would be better than defeating eight seperate opponents."
LP: "Tony, you make a great point there, that would surly be a great accomplishment. How does it feel to be on the grand stage at one of the biggest PPV's of the year, Vortex?"
TR: "It is a honor, it really is, I feel confident that I will do well tonight and one way or another I will not let the fans down. They are the ones that make this possible, without them none of us would have a job, plus they get the opportunity to vote for the match that they want to see the wrestlers compete in."
LP: "Speaking of the stipulations what match do you look forward to competiting in?"
TR: "I have thought about that for a little while now Larry, it is a good question I must admit. I would prefer for the fans to vote for either the Lumberjack Elimination Match or I would prefer them to vote for the elimination style match by pinfall because I believe it makes for a more clearcut winner. In my opinon a over the top rope battle royal proves nothing."
LP: "One final question for you Tony, what do you think about the extra added stipulation in which the wonner of the battle royal get's a future United States Championship opportunity?"
TR: "I believe it is a great opportunity to say the least, it is not everyday that kind of chance just falls in your lap. Granted this match will not be an easy one to win, there are some talented individuals who want that same opportunity as I have and this opportunity will only come to one of us."
LP: "So, you are saying your chances are good to win tonight?"
TR: "I am just saying that you should just watch the match and then you will see how confident that I am during it."
(As he says this Tony walks away from Larry Porter.)
LP: "Those are quite the words from Tony Rios here tonight, will he win the battle royal, and what type of match will it be? We will find out in just a few minutes."
(The camera fades and goes back to ringside.)
HS: "Sounds like Tony Rios is determined to win this match tonight."
FJ: "He's determined to do something but I'm not too sure it's winning."
HS: "One of these days someone's going to kick your backside for your comments."
FJ: "Let 'em! I've got God on my side!"
(We suddenly hear Hail to the Chief play and we see AWA President and Owner Travis Gray come out through the "O" Tunnel in "VORTEX" and he stands on the stage with a mic in his hand and an envelope in the breast pocket of his Armani suit.)
GRAY: "Welcome everyone to Vortex! Tonight we have nine matches that you have voted on and I'll reveal results before every match. So, the very first match of the night to kick off this great AWA tradition is going to be DooM versus Mark Cross versus Nosferat."
(Gray pulls the envelope from his breast pocket and opens it.)
GRAY: "The least voted on stipulation was an Elimination Match. The second most voted on stipulation was a Table Match so the winning stipulation and the match you will all see is going to be a Barbed Wire match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
Summary for DooM vs. Mark Cross vs. Nosferat: Once all three guys are in the ring, Nosferat is beaten down pretty bad, getting lashed to pieces by the barbed wire. Mark Cross and DooM fight it out some, but Cross knocks DooM out of the ring and pins the still bleeding Nosferat for the victory.
HS: I have been told that we have Mark Keller standing by backstage with AWA rookie Chris Palmer. Over to you Mark.
(We now see Mark standing next to a sweaty Chris Palmer. Chris has a blank look on his face as Mark begins the interview.)
MK: I am standin here with Chris Palmer right now. What do you think about your match Chris?
CP: Good question. I feel confident and am feeling real refreshed this week.
MK: There has been some rumors going around about how your not 100% after last weeks battle. Is it true?
CP: That is in fact a rumor. I have never felt better. I am at 110% and whoever has spread these rumors will find that out real quickly. Now if you'll excuse me I have some business to attend to.
MK: Well thanks and good luck. Now back to you guys at ringside.
(We now go back to Herb and Frank in the arena.)
HS: That was a few words from the rookie of the AWA Chris Palmer.
FJ: "He's probably going to crash and burn. That voice over guy and I have lots in common."
HS: "You sure it wasn't you?"
FJ: "I wish."
(Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our second match of the evening we will see the Fast Lane Battle Royal where the winner will get a shot at the United States Champion at a later date. Those participants are Kage, Happy Funball, Tony Rios, Dalton Darby, Andreas Lasiewicz, Ron Barker, Stan Jones, Chris Palmer, and Crack Mendez."
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place we have a Lumberjack Elimination match. In second place we have a Pinfall Elimination match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you will be an Over the Top Rope Elimination match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
Summary for the Fast Lane Battle Royal. After all of the guys are out in the ring, the match is under way. The first to be eliminated is Crack Mendez by Stan Jones. Then we see Dalton Darby outed by Kage. Following Darby is Ron Barker by Tony Rios and Happy Funball and Andreas Lasiewicz are both eliminated by Kage, Palmer, and Jones. With Kage, Palmer, Jones, and Rios left, they start to work on each other, but then Rios eliminates Kage and Palmer is dumped out by Jones. With the final showdown, Rios is able to put Jones over the top rope to win the match and move on to face the US Champion at a later date.

(The camera backstage caught sight of what appeared to be a UPS driver being allowed into the building. The driver was carrying a large purple velvet bag which was tied around the top. The drive held it by the tied top and was very careful not to put his hands anywhere under the small silver rope which made up the tie.)
HS: "What could a UPS driver be doing at Vortex?"
FJ: "Who knows. Maybe someone had there package shipped here."
(The UPS guy walked through the hallways carefully checking each door name until he came to the room of AWA No Limit Champion Logan Alexander and knocked. The door was yanked open by Logan.)
LOGAN: "What do you want?"
UPS: "I have a package for you."
LOGAN: "What is it?"
UPS: "Your problem mister. Normally UPS doesn't transport these type of things but the guy paid ten times the normal price in cash."
(Logan rolls his eyes and goes to grab the bag but the UPS guy yanks his hand back.)
UPS: "No! Let me put the damn thing down first. You wrestler types are insane!"
(Logan raised a brow and watched as the UPS guy laid down the bag and turned away without another word. Logan just laughed and picked the bag up the same way the UPS guy was holding it. Wrapped in with the silver tie was a small card which reads "To Logan, may the best man win, Snake.)
LOGAN: "Yeah, the best man intends to."
(Logan unwraps the silver tie and spreads the top of the bag open. Almost the second the top was opened a small green and brown blur appeared and Logan dropped the bag and grabbed his hand which was now bleeding from two small punctures.)
LOGAN: "Holy F-censored-"
(Logan backed away from the bag holding his hand as a rattling sound emitted from the rumbled purple bag. After a moment a large rattle snake slithered its way out of the bag. Logan looked between his hand and the bag and raced out of the room.)
HS: "Did Snake really just send Logan Alexander a rattle snake?!!?"
FJ: "NICE! He out did himself! You can count on Snake to think of imaginative ways to hurt people!"
HS: "Yeah? Wait until Logan gets his hand on him!"
(Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our third match of the evening we will see RooK take on Quade DeSade."
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place we have an Iron Maiden match. In second place we have a Taipei Death match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you guys will be a Junk in the Trunk match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
Summary for RooK vs. Quade DeSade: Quade and RooK start off in the ring but eventually make it to the left of the Vortex stage (as you look at it from the ring) and start to fight around, in, and on the car. Quade gets a few close calls by trying to get RooK pinned under the trunk for a three count, but he would kick the lid open. He at one point climbed out through the back seats, which was found out to be a legal maneuver. Quade was also nearly trapped in the trunk for a three count on several occassions but was able to power out. In the end, RooK was beaten so badly that he couldn't leave the trunk to answer the three count and Quade DeSade wins.

(The camera appears backstage to find Snake a sick little smirk on his face.)
HS: "What is Snake up to now!?"
FJ: "Who knows, lets watch and find out!"
(Snake chuckled and came to the door of Logan Alexander and pushed it open. The second the door was open the camera could hear the sound of the rattle snake somewhere in the room. Snake knew Logan was still getting tended to so he was home free. Once inside the room Snake began to glance around until his eyes found a large cubical used for hanging your clothing and made his way over. He reached his hand inside only for it to snap right back out as the Snake tried to bite him.)
SNAKE: "HEY! Bad snake!"
(The snake stuck its head out of the fabric cover and flicked its tongue curiously, but the rattle was still going. Snake extended his left hand and the rattler instantly focused on his left hand rattling and raising its head for the strike. As the rattler was arching itself for the strike Snake darted his right hand out and grabbed it behind the head.)
SNAKE: "HA Gotcha! Now, back in the bag you go."
(The Rattle snake was coiling itself around Snake's wrist as he grabbed the bag so he set the bag down on the table and uncoiled the snake before placing it back in the bag and quickly spinning the bag and replacing the silver tie.)
HS: "Seriously, what kind of man could send his opponent a poisonous Snake as a gift!"
FJ: "One who doesn't give a damn for human life?"
(Snake, whistling to himself, walked out of Logan's Locker room with the Snake in tow.)
(Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our fourth match of the evening will be for the VACANT AWA Tag Team Championship! This match will feature Split Image's Glass and Reflect, Downstairs from Purgatory's Hawk and Jurgen, The Canucks' Terry James and Xtreme Jeff, The Association's Jon Taylor and KC O'Hara, and Mashed Underwear's Dylan Ford and Confusion."
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place with the least amount of votes is a Hardcore Elimination match. In second place we have a TLC Ladder match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you guys will be a Scaffold match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
HS: "Folks, it is time for the Tag Team Championships to go on the line! It's going to be Split Image vs. Downstairs from Purgatory vs. Mashed Underwear vs. The Association vs. The Canucks in a tag team free for all!"
FJ: "Not only that, but it's a scaffold match! I love it!"
HS: "And you, the fans, are the ones that have voted for that stipulation. As you can see, that three-story scaffold is now in place."
FJ: "What an awesome match. Three stories!"
("Give It All" by Rise Against starts to blare throughout the arena and the fans immediately leap up from their seats and cheer wildly. Smoke starts to pour out from the entrance tunnel and as the first chorus hits Terry "The Storm" James and "The Rated X Superstar" Xtreme Jeff come out, with a Canadian flag and Quebec flag respectively, to a huge standing ovation!)
HS: "It looks like its true. The Canucks really are back!"
FJ: "Yeah, and they are back in a hardcore environment. Those are the kind of Canucks I like!"
HS: "Frank, we don't need to know that."
(Terry and Jeff head off to the ends of the stage, Terry to the right and Jeff to the left, and wave their flags at the cheering crowd. The two then converge in the middle of the stage, holding the flags in the air for all to see. After a few moments they run down the ramp and slide under the bottom rope into the ring. They then both kip up and red and white pyros shoot up from each ring post. They head to the tops of the turnbuckles in front of them. Terry goes to the right and waves his flag, then perches it on the top rope as XTJ does the same on the left. They soak up in the standing ovation from the crowd for a few moments before hopping down into the ring. The two retrieve mikes and pace around the ring, letting the fans continue their cheers.)
HS: "It looks like we'll be getting a pre-match speech from The Canucks!"
XTJ: "Hello Philidel-crap-I mean HELLO NEW ORLEANS!!"
(The crowd pops ever-so-cheaply.)
XTJ: "Who wants to see The Canucks win the Tag Team Championships in a scaffold match?"
(The crowd cheers wildly once more.)
TERRY: "I see, well I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is: You don't get to see us win in a TLC or hardcore elimination match."
(Terry shrugs.)
TERRY: "The good news is: We're going to see The Canucks win the Tag Team Championships tonight in a scaffold match, right here in New Orleans!"
(The crowd goes crazy and Terry smirks widely at the cheap pop.)
HS: "Looks like Terry James and Xtreme Jeff are getting the crowd strongly behind them here."
FJ: "Boring! I want to see blood, not cheers!"
TERRY: "Well, we don't want to keep you guys waiting. Let's get this thing going!"
(Terry and XTJ toss their mikes and put their flags in their corner, waiting for the other teams. Meanwhile, the two look up at the steel scaffold structure, studying it and taking it in.)
HS: "As you can see, the scaffold structure is made up of 3 cat-walks. All of these levels are only four feet wide!"
FJ: "Which means someone is going to fall!"
HS: "It is a strong possibility, although, there are guardrails that stand four feet high on each level, as well as a safety net that will be put below the entire structure once everyone is on it."
("Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits blares over the PA system as Hawk walks out, wearing his usual ring attire plus his white T-shirt. He seems unusually happy as he walks towards the ring. The Canucks watch him from their corner as he walks over to the first ladder of the scaffold structure in front of him, ignoring the pathetic boos of the crowd. He catches a microphone from a technician and starts to speak.)
HAWK: "Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is it. 2 and a half tons of scaffold, 4 tons of rubble. The greatest structure ever to grace the AWA!"
(Hawk begins to climb the ladder as he explains it.)
HAWK: "There are three floors, all connected by fixed steel ladders. Each floor has a rubbish chute leading to a skip full of rubble. The third floor has two. I wonder what they could be used for? The third floor has two 12 foot support-less ladders, looks like they will have to be held up by someone! 15 feet above the third floor hang the TAG TEAM TITLES!"
(The crowd cheer at the mention of the titles and boo at Hawk, creating a rather mixed atmosphere. Hawk stands at the top, shoots his arms out, and a deep voice booms over the PA as Hawk mimes: "THIS IS WHY YOU CAME". Jurgen walks out as "Clubfoot" by Kasabian plays. Hawk climbs down and greets Jurgen, and they begin jawing with The Canucks while waiting for the other opponents.)
HS: "Downstairs from Purgatory and Terry James have a slight history behind them as Terry was almost taken out in a double-team assault by Hawk and Jurgen."
FJ: "Yeah, that was boring. What he should have done was fight back instead of running."
HS: "You're telling me you would have fought two men with steel chairs in their hands instead of running?"
FJ: "Not me, Herb. Terry! Sometime I don't think you listen…"
("Not Falling" by Tool begins to play as Mashed Underwear come out of the ‘O' in Vortex and onto the stage. Confusion aimlessly waves at random fans, who are cheering at Confusion for reasons other than his popularity. "Xtreme" Dylan Ford walks along with him and the two slide into the ring, eying The Canucks and Downstairs from Purgatory when they reach their feet.)
HS: "We now have three out of five teams out here."
FJ: "If you want to call Mashed Underwear a team."
HS: "We have yet to see them in action, Frank. Don't judge a book by its cover."
FJ: "I'm not judging a book. I'm judging a tag team. Where did you get book from?"
(The lights fade as "Stinkfist" By Tool hits the PA. Smoke begins to billow around the entrance way. Glass and Reflect emerge from the smoke walking normally towards the ring with there leather long coats swaying back behind them. They tag a few hands around the ring and simultaneously jump onto the apron. Glass enters the ring and leaps onto the top turnbuckle looking over at the fans giving his signature cutthroat sign as Reflect stands on the second rope with his arms in a Cross. The strobe lights erupt as the 2 men meet in the center of the ring and do there signature pose with Reflect down on his knees with his arms in a cross like position in the center of the ring and Glass standing behind him with one hand in the air and another doing the cutthroat sign once again. The two get up and all four teams in the ring now choose a corner and talk strategy.)
HS: "Split Image is 2-0 in their AWA careers. They already hold a victory over Downstairs from Purgatory. Can they extend their streak tonight and take the tag team championships?"
FJ: "No way! Downstairs from Purgatory is going to get them back tonight. You just watch."
("Hate Me Now" by Nas blares through the PA system and moments later the crowd erupts as "Showtime" Jon Taylor and KC O'Hara come through the apron. Taylor stands at the top of the ramp as he raises his arms and lets out a loud "woooo!" O' Hara stands in front of him and raises his arms as fireworks go off. They both run down the ramp and as they get to the ring, Taylor slides in and O'Hara jumps onto the apron and climbs through the ropes. They go by Downstairs from Purgatory and Mashed Underwear and head to the top of the turnbuckles behind them, getting the crowd behind them. The two hop down and the ref enters the ring and starts ushering all five teams up the first ladder and onto the first cat-walk.)
HS: "Alright folks. While the ref gets everyone onto the first level and the safety net is put in place, let's recap how this match looks and works. There are three levels of cat-walk scaffolding above the ring, made of reinforced steel so that it can hold the weight of the five teams that could be standing on each level at one time."
FJ: "Wouldn't want that whole structure to collapse with everyone on it…"
HS: "We most certainly would not, Frank. But, these platforms are all only four feet wide and have guardrails on each side that are only four feet high. To get to the cat-walk above the one you are on, you must climb the fixed steel ladder from each level to the level above it. The side the ladder is on alternates, so you can't just climb up one ladder from the bottom level to the top level."
FJ: "There's no way for this match to end very quickly. It's just going to be one long hardcore war. I can't wait!"
HS: "A safety net will be put in place above the ring and below the first cat-walk. The only holes in the net will be for the four garbage chutes and the ladder from the ring to the first cat-walk. As you can see, that ladder from the bottom level to the ring is longer since the safety net must be a good distance above the ring. That ladder is there because of the four garbage chutes that lead to the four garbage bins at each corner outside of the ring. The person who falls down those shoots and into the garbage bin must climb out and climb back up that first ladder to get to the first cat-walk again."
FJ: "I don't want to be near any of the guys in this match after it's over…"
HS: "Well, I don't think it will end too soon because, in order to win this match, a team must retrieve the tag team championship belts hanging FIFTEEN feet above that third level. The only way to reach it is for you to use one of the two ten-foot ladders sitting atop the third level. The thing is, the ladders are not self-supported and, in order for you to climb them to reach the belts, your partner must be holding the ladder. That means that both members of the winning team must be at the top level and working together to win."
FJ: "Alright, all five teams are on the first cat-walk. The safety net is in place. The ref has left the ring. The bell has rung and the match is underway!"
(Chaos ensues immediately as all five teams simply enter into a brawl. The Canucks go after Mashed Underwear with clotheslines that knock both Dylan and Confusion down to the steel floor. Meanwhile, Jurgen has started to rain wild punches down on O'Hara, but O'Hara is able to dodge them easily. Taylor has gone after Glass at the same time, grounding him with a quick forearm smash. Reflect and Hawk both sprint for the ladder leading up to the next level.)
FJ: "It's mass chaos! I love it!"
(The Canucks pick Mashed Underwear up and immediately toss them over the guardrails! Ford and Confusion fall to the safety net below as Terry and XTJ move on to help O'Hara with Jurgen. Jurgen finally lands a shot that rocks O'Hara and causes him to stumble back against the guardrail. Jurgen goes for a big boot, but O'Hara dodges and Jurgen lands with one leg on the outside of the guardrail and one on the inside. Before Jurgen can get back in, The Canucks and O'Hara all leap up and drop kick the big man simultaneously! The 500 pounder is knocked off of the railing with the combined force and he falls down to join Mashed Underwear in the satefy net below! Meanwhile, Taylor has picked up Glass and kicked him in the gut. Glass doubles over and Taylor quickly take shim up and over in a vertical suplex. Glass lands hard on the steel cat-walk and arches his back in pain as Taylor gets to his feet. As this is happening, Hawk reaches the ladder leading to the next level and quickly swings off of the catwalk to get onto it. However, Reflect is right behind him and he quickly grabs Hawk's leg to keep him from climbing. Hawk kicks away at Reflect, but Reflect replaces one hand with another when he does and pulls Hawk back onto the cat-walk. Reflect quickly swings around to the ladder to climb up to the second level himself. However, Hawk sees this and steps back to the opposite guardrail, then leaps up and drop kicks Reflect in the stomach through the rungs of the ladder! Reflect falls off the structure and lands on Confusion!)
HS: "Already there are four men on the safety net! Now, just because that net saves you from falling to the ground, doesn't mean it doesn't hinder your chances in winning the match. Crawling across the net and back up that ladder to the first cat-walk is not easy."
FJ: "Jurgen seems to be having problems."
(Indeed, Jurgen is having trouble getting across the net with his weight bringing it down a foot or two wherever he is. Ford has the same problem, but not to the same degree. As they try to get to the ladder, Reflect and Confusion begin to rise after Reflect's fall onto Confusion. Above those four men, The Canucks have turned on O'Hara and give him a double kick to the gut, then a double suplex onto the steel below. Taylor sees this and goes over to help his partner, knocking XTJ down from behind with a harsh clothesline to the back of the head. Terry turns to meet Taylor as Taylor goes for a clothesline on Terry as well. Terry ducks the clothesline and rocks Taylor with a right when Taylor turns around. Terry then starts hitting a flurry of knife edge chops, each one getting a "WOO!" from the crowd. Just as it looks like Terry is about to knock Taylor over the guardrail with a fifth chop, Taylor reverses it and starts punching Terry in the gut repeatedly, backing him up into the opposite guardrail. Meanwhile, XTJ and O'Hara both get up and start going at it with lefts and rights themselves. Glass gets up as well and looks over to the ladder, seeing that Hawk has taken advantage of the distraction and climbed up to the second level cat-walk. However, Hawk soon realizes he needs Jurgen up there as well and calls down to him. Glass quickly uses this distraction to climb up to the second cat-walk himself.)
HS: "It looks like Hawk has figured out he needs Jurgen to climb just as fast as he climbs in order to get anywhere in this match."
FJ: "Don't worry, once Jurgen gets back up there he'll climb up with Hawk soon enough."
HS: "Hawk may be joining Jurgen down below if Glass has anything to say about it!"
(Hawk turns just in time to avoid a super kick to the back of his head as he ducks Glass' "Snap" kick. Hawk quickly rushes Glass to knock him down, gut Glass side-steps him and tosses him into the garbage chute at the end of the second cat-walk! Hawk falls down the chute and pops out of the chute and into a garbage bin beside the ring! Meanwhile, Jurgen finally reaches the bottom ladder, as does Ford. Jurgen gives Ford a big headbutt that knocks him back a few steps and then gets onto the ladder. Reflect and Confusion both go for the ladder at this time as well, reaching it as Jurgen has reached the cat-walk platform. Reflect ducks a wild haymaker from Confusion and grabs him around his waist. Reflect then lifts him into an awkward gutbuster into the ladder! Confusion hits the ladder and drops down through the hole in the netting around it, landing hard on his side in the ring. Reflect quickly gets up and heads up the ladder, followed closely by Ford.)
HS: "Confusion took a big fall there. I don't know what his condition is going to be like right now."
FJ: "Who cares? Jurgen is back on the first cat-walk, but Hawk is in a garbage bin. This sucks!"
(As soon as Jurgen gets up onto the cat-walk, he is met with an out of control XTJ, who was just whipped across the platform by O'Hara. XTJ manages to catch Jurgen off-guard and Jurgen stumbles back, falling into the garbage chute on the edge of the cat-walk! Jurgen slides down the chute and pops out into one of the garbage bins on the outside of the ring, not looking very happy afterwards. Hawk sees this and slaps his forehead.)
HS: "So much for Jurgen being back up on the cat-walk. Looks like Downstairs from Purgatory is in a stinky situation right now."
FJ: "Damnit! That wasn't fair. They didn't even let Jurgen get ready."
(XTJ smirks at Jurgen's fall, but that smirk disappears as he sees Reflect come up onto the cat-walk and O'Hara heading right for him. The quick and agile XTJ quickly thinks up a plan, jumping onto the guardrail on the opposite side of the side the ladder is on and running along it to avoid Reflect. O'Hara looks to knock XTJ off from the guardrail, but XTJ leaps off and over O'Hara's head before he can get there. XTJ lands behind O'Hara as Taylor is trying to put Terry over the guardrail and down into the netting below. XTJ quickly runs over and bulldogs Taylor from behind to allow Terry to get back to his feet on the cat-walk.)
HS: "Terry James was almost put over that guardrail by "Showtime" Jon Taylor, but Xtreme Jeff made the timely save."
(Ford is about to get back onto the cat-walk, but Reflect sees him and kicks at his hands as they grab the top rung of the ladder. Ford tries to avoid Reflect's stomping feet, but Reflect ends up catching him and Ford falls off the ladder and back onto the netting below. Meanwhile, O'Hara has rushed over to help his partner, Taylor. XTJ meets him mid-charge with a big Side Effect! Just as XTJ hits the Side Effect on O'Hara, Taylor catches Terry with The Showstopper!)
HS: "Side Effect! Xtreme Jeff hit his finisher on KC O'Hara!"
FJ: "Showstopper! Jon Taylor hit The Showstopper on Terry James!"
(O'Hara and Terry are down as XTJ and Taylor both get up and go to high-five their partners. However, they stop as they realize that their partners have been taken out by the guy they were about to high-five. Reflect interrupts the moment with a double leg lariat that takes both Taylor and XTJ down. Glass leans over the guardrail on the second level and calls to Reflect, telling him to get up there with him. Reflect nods and heads over to the ladder leading up the second level. XTJ and Taylor see that the two men are heading to the top and look to each other. They form a temporary truce and quickly head over the ladder Reflect just climbed. Meanwhile, Ford has once again reached the ladder. He calls down to Confusion, who has finally gotten up after his fall from the net to the ring. Confusion gets on the ladder and Mashed Underwear begins their climb up to the first cat-walk. At the same time, we see Jurgen and Hawk getting out of their separate garbage bins, covered in various pieces of the bins contents afterwards.)
HS: "Well, it looks like Hawk and Jurgen may be regretting making part of the stipulations in this scaffold match."
FJ: "That's not fair at all. The other teams should be in the garbage, not them!"
(Glass and Reflect attempt to run to the ladder leading to the third floor, but XTJ and Taylor grab their shoulders and spin them around. XTJ throws a punch at, but Glass ducks it and looks for a hip toss. XTJ blocks the hip toss and drops Glass down to the steel floor in a high impact DDT! Taylor successfully catches Reflect with a quick, explosive spear and starts throwing punches down on Reflect immediately. Reflect blocks a few, but Taylor is getting some good shots in. However, this soon stops as XTJ drop kicks Taylor right in the face without warning! Taylor falls back and XTJ quickly picks the dazed Reflect off the ground. Reflect suddenly goes for a reverse elbow, but XTJ scouts it and ducks. Reflect spins on the spot before XTJ leaps up and catches him in a standing Hurricanranna that sends Reflect up and over the railing and all the way down to the safety net below! The crowd starts up an "X! T! J!" chant as the more-than-proud Canuck takes a moment to celebrate.)
HS: "What a move from Xtreme Jeff!"
FJ: "Damn, Reflect did a couple flips on the way down too!"
HS: "This match looks to be picking up now."
(Herb is right, as Mashed Underwear finally steps back onto the first cat-walk, they find Terry and O'Hara going at it. Terry catches O'Hara with a quick kick to the gut, followed by an even quicker snap suplex. O'Hara arcs his back in pain after hitting the steel floor, but Terry doesn't have a chance to capitalize as Mashed Underwear suddenly spring forward to attack. The two go for a double clothesline, but Terry ducks it. Confusion suddenly stops and goes for a wild kick that catches Terry in the ribs. Terry stumbles back, but Ford quickly grabs him by the arm and whips him back the other way. Terry runs into a back body drop from O'Hara that gets huge elevation, with Terry ending up landing hard on his back a foot or two behind O'Hara. O'Hara continues forward and catches Confusion with a clothesline. Clothesline goes down and Ford steps in, but O'Hara manages to block a suplex attempt and hit one of his own. O'Hara gets up with a head full of steam and BAM!)
HS: "My God! What a super kick from Terry James!"
FJ: "I think KC O'Hara's head almost landed in my lap!"
(Terry smirks widely before looking up and seeing XTJ calling to him on the second level. Terry quickly looks around, seeing Confusion is getting up. Terry quickly runs over and bulldogs the rising Confusion to the ground, then heads to the ladder going up to the second cat-walk. XTJ quickly turns back to continue dealing with his opponents, but Taylor was just waiting for him to do so. As soon as XTJ turned, Taylor leapt up and hit The Showstopper!)
HS: "XTJ just got caught in a big way and Terry doesn't even realize it as he heads up to the second cat-walk!"
FJ: "Man, how many finishers are going to be hit before this thing ends?"
HS: "At this rate, everyone's just going to end up knocked out."
FJ: "Speaking of being knocked out, look at what my favourite team is doing!"
Meanwhile, Jurgen and Hawk have met in the ring and seem to be discussing something. The two nod in agreement with one another and quickly head out of the ring. They both lift up the ring apron and start pulling out various weapons. Jurgen takes out a couple of steel chairs. Hawk gets out a steel garbage can with a lid. The two toss the weapons into the ring, then roll under the ropes and carry the weapons with them as they head up the ladder leading to the first cat-walk.)
HS: "Looks like Downstairs from Purgatory is taking this match to an even higher level!"
FJ: "I told you they were the best."
(Glass is now up from that devastating DDT he received from XTJ, but he doesn't stay up for long as Jon Taylor is right there with a quick swinging neckbreaker. Taylor hauls Glass back up to his feet and takes a quick glance over the guardrail. He sees Reflect getting up from his fall earlier and, with a big smile on his face, decides to throw Glass off of the cat-walk! Glass free-falls and tries to warn Reflect, but by the time Reflect looks up it's too late. Glass falls directly onto Reflect, effectively causing the two to knock their heads together. Glass and Reflect both collapse to the safety net in a hurry. The crowd chants "Holy Shit! Holy Shit!" over and over again as Taylor turns back to the action.)
HS: "That does not bode well from Split Image. It doesn't look like Glass or Reflect are moving after that."
FJ: "I think Split Image may have some split heads after that collision! HAH! I'm so good!"
(Mashed Underwear reach their feet and assess the situation around them. Ford sees Jurgen and Hawk come up onto the cat-walk, weapons in hand, and quickly turns Confusion around so he can see. Jurgen and Hawk smile devilishly as they each take a steel chair and walk forward at Confusion and Ford. Meanwhile, Terry James reached the second cat-walk, only to see that his partner is down and Taylor is standing directly beside him. Taylor looks down at XTJ and shrugs. Terry and Taylor both head towards one another and start a make-shift wrestling match, pacing around the limited space of the cat-walk. Terry shoots for the legs and catches Taylor with a double-leg takedown, immediately looking for the Thunder Bolt afterwards! However, Taylor is able to fight it off and kick Terry back. Terry catches himself on the guardrail to avoid toppling over to the safety net two stories below. Taylor gets up and the two get in a collar-and-elbow tie-up, with Taylor coming out on top with a hammerlock. Terry quickly reverses it into a hammerlock of his own, but Taylor is able to do the same to put the pressure back on Terry. Taylor switches to a headlock, wrenching away at the head and neck of Terry. Terry fights back with a few elbows to the mid-section and finally breaks the hold with am elbow to Taylor's face. Meanwhile, Jurgen and Hawk both smack Ford and Confusion silly with the steel chairs. Mashed Underwear crumples to the floor and Hawk quickly calls out orders to Jurgen. Jurgen complies and picks Confusion up. Jurgen whips Confusion in the opposite direction of his partner, but then holds on and pulls back into a flap jack. Hawk quickly jumps up and catches Confusion mid-flight with a stunner, leaving Confusion motionless on the ground!)
HS: "Downstairs from Purgatory just hit Confusion with The Anti-Christ!"
FJ: "Doesn't look like they are done there!"
(Frank seems to be correct as Jurgen quickly picks up Ford, who is significantly bigger than Confusion, and proceeds to put him through the same manoeuvre. With an amazing showing of strength, Jurgen lifts Ford up and over in a flap jack, allowing for Hawk to once again stunner him on the way down! Meanwhile, Terry and Taylor continue to fight a back and forward battle on the second cat-walk. Terry has Taylor in an arm wringer, but Taylor is able to roll through and pick Terry up for a back body drop. However, Terry rolls out of the move and lands on his feet behind Taylor. Terry backs up a few steps and waits for Taylor to turn around before leaping forward with a super kick! Taylor catches the kick, however, and spins Terry around before suddenly shoving him forward and into the garbage chute on that level. Terry slides all the way down, popping out into a garbage bin by the ring!)
HS: "Terry James has just been put off the scaffold by Jon Taylor!"
FJ: "Yeah, but here comes Downstairs from Purgatory!"
(Hawk and Jurgen carry their steel chairs up with them as they get to the second cat-walk. Taylor turns and sees the two, immediately noticing the severe handicap he now has. XTJ is now starting to stir behind Taylor as well, the effects of The Showstopper he was caught with starting to wear off. However, the same can be said with O'Hara on the cat-walk below as he is now up from the Thunder Strike he received from Terry James. O'Hara sees the steel garbage can Hawk left behind on the first cat-walk and quickly takes it in one hand before heading up to the second cat-walk to join his partner. Taylor sees this and quickly thinks of a way to stall for time. Taylor looks over to the ladder leading up to the third and final cat-walk and quickly bolts to it, passing by XTJ in the process. Hawk and Jurgen run after him. This allows for O'Hara to come onto the second cat-walk without Downstairs from Purgatory knowing. XTJ sees O'Hara and quickly pretends to still be out of it. O'Hara buys it as he is too focused on sneaking up on Hawk and Jurgen. Taylor stalls Hawk and Jurgen by swinging around on the ladder to avoid the chair shots from the two. Suddenly, Taylor swings forward and kicks Hawk backwards. O'Hara is waiting for him and he quickly traps him inside the steel garbage can! Jurgen is surprised as O'Hara smacks him across the face with the steel garbage can lid. The 500-pounder stumbles back, but doesn't fall. Taylor and O'Hara quickly try to change that as they both come forward at the big man. O'Hara continues to smack Jurgen with the garbage can lid and Taylor punches away at Jurgen at the same time.)
HS: "It looks like Hawk is stuck in that garbage can, which he ironically brought into this match himself. Jurgen is being double-teamed by The Association and I don't think even Jurgen can hold out much longer in that situation."
FJ: "This isn't fair at all. First Hawk and Jurgen get thrown down the garbage chutes on their own scaffold match design. Then they get their own weapons used on them. When does it stop?"
HS: "I'd ballpark it at…when this match ends."
(While Jurgen is being double-teamed at one end of the second cat-walk, XTJ is slowing getting up on the other side. Terry, who has now gotten out of the garbage bin, is quick to head to the ring apron, much like Downstairs from Purgatory did. However, what Terry pulls out isn't made of steel; it's made of wood. Terry pulls out two hockey sticks, holding them up to the crowd and receiving a loud cheer for it. Terry quickly heads into the ring and scurries up the first ladder. He reaches the first cat-walk in record time. XTJ leans over the edge, still un-noticed by The Association, and Terry tosses up a hockey stick to him. Terry runs past the motionless bodies of Mashed Underwear and once again scurries up the ladder to the next cat-walk level. Terry and XTJ quickly talk strategy as they meet at one end of the cat-walk, but at the same time The Association finally manages to subdue Jurgen, who is now bleeding profusely from his forehead after receiving so many shots to his face with the steel garbage can lid. Taylor and O'Hara quickly toss him to the floor and go to deal with Hawk, who is almost out of the garbage can now. However, when the two turn to go to Hawk they find Terry and XTJ swinging for the fences with their hockey sticks. Taylor and O'Hara manage to duck under the sticks and The Association bolts for the final ladder. The Canucks follow closely behind, getting to the third and final cat-walk only a few moments after The Association.)
HS: "The Canucks and The Association are on the third and final level! Now they just have to climb the ladder and retrieve the titles."
FJ: "Hey, Downstairs from Purgatory is only one level below them. Don't count them out."
HS: "Jurgen isn't in much of a condition to do anything and Hawk is struggling to get out of that garbage can he has over him. Then again, at least they are moving, unlike Mashed Underwear and Split Image at this point."
(Terry and XTJ continue to chase after Taylor and O'Hara until they reach a ladder. The Canucks pause and Terry points to the ladder. XTJ nods and Terry quickly lifts it up. Taylor and O'Hara turn and see this, realizing that there is another ladder right by their feet. O'Hara quickly picks up the ladder and motions for Taylor to climb it quickly.)
HS: "It's turned into a race!"
FJ: "C'mon, this isn't fair at all! They need to fight so Downstairs from Purgatory can recover and come back out of nowhere."
HS: "That doesn't always happen, Frank. Sometimes teams can't recover."
FJ: "Well, if The Canucks and The Association don't ruin this match we'll see who is right."
(XTJ and Taylor both climb the twelve-foot ladders as quickly as possible as Terry and O'Hara hold the bases. XTJ still has his hockey stick as he climbs, though, and his usual speed advantage is nullified. Both men reach the top simultaneously, but XTJ has a hockey stick and he quickly swings it at Taylor's head. Taylor ducks and XTJ calls down to Terry. Terry nods and shifts the ladder forward, allowing for XTJ to jab at Taylor through the rungs of his ladder. Taylor dodges the jabs, shifting to the appropriate sides of the ladder, before suddenly trapping XTJ's hockey stick and pulling it out of XTJ's hands! Taylor starts to swing the hockey stick at XTJ now and now it's XTJ's turn to duck and twist. Terry moves XTJ's ladder back as O'Hara moves Taylor's ladder forward. Just when it seems like Taylor is going to have the advantage, Terry gives XTJ his hockey stick. The two start what could best be described as a hockey stick sword duel on top of twelve-foot ladders.)
HS: "Well, I've never seen this before!"
FJ: "What is this? Medieval Times?"
HS: "It may be unorthodox, but it is also giving Downstairs from Purgatory time to recover, like you wanted so badly because you are completely biased."
FJ: "I am NOT biased! I merely have an opinion on who should win this match based on my previous experiences with them."
(What Herb said is true. As the two teams, The Association and The Canucks, fight for position under the tag title belts, occasionally reaching up to try and grab them, Downstairs from Purgatory start to get themselves back up. Jurgen slowly rises to his feet as Hawk finally gets out of the garbage can. The two look around, seeing their opponents are not there. Then, they hear the constantly clanging of the ladders being moved on the cat-walk above them. Immediately, the two run for the ladder. Hawk gets there first and scampers up, with Jurgen not too far behind. The two pick a ladder each and run straight into them, causing them to topple over. XTJ and Taylor both land on the cat-walk instead of fling over the edge, but now Downstairs from Purgatory is the only team left standing. Hawk points to the hockey sticks on the ground and Jugen and Hawk both pick one up. Terry and O'Hara get to their feet rather quickly and see that Hawk and Jurgen now carry the hockey sticks XTJ and Taylor were previously carrying. Terry and O'Hara exchange a glance before picking up a ladder and raising it together to block the incoming hockey sticks. The sticks shatter into pieces off of the ladder. Terry and O'Hara look to each other again and suddenly run forward, knocking Jurgen and Hawk down with the ladder.)
HS: "It looks like Terry James and KC O'Hara are working towards a common goal here."
FJ: "They're cheating! Why does everyone always team up on Downstairs from Purgatory?"
HS: "It's called strategy."
(Terry and O'Hara give each other a glance and both immediately drop the ladder they are holding. The ladder falls so that it is resting across the guardrails as the two rock each other with a clothesline, leaving all six men on the cat-walk down. The crowd is going nuts to see who will get up first, but they don't have to wait long as all six soon begin to stir. All six men reach their feet and assess the situation, not moving for a few moments as they look at their partners and opponents. Taylor is the first to move, going for a spear on XTJ. XTJ side-steps it and Taylor continues to stumble on towards Terry. Terry side-steps it as well, leaving Taylor to continue past him, under the ladder, and into Hawk! O'Hara is distracted by this allowing for Terry to grab him by the head and force him to spear Jurgen, much like Taylor did to Hawk. The Canucks both scurry over to the ladder that is not lying across the guardrails and raise it up. Terry moves it towards the belt's position and XTJ quickly begins to climb!)
HS: "The Association and Downstairs from Purgatory are down! The Canucks are going to win!"
FJ: "No they aren't, look!"
(As XTJ comes within a few steps of reaching the belts, Split Image and Mashed Underwear suddenly come up onto the third and final cat-walk and sprint forward to stop The Canucks! Terry and XTJ see the two teams and quickly abandon their attempt at winning. However, they do not allow the other teams to reach them. Instead, Terry picks up the ladder and suplexes it, with XTJ still near the top, onto the four men running at them! XTJ jumps off at the last second, allowing for the ladder to fall onto the four men directly. Split Image and Mashed Underwear get knocked down like so many bowling pins as XTJ continues onwards into The Association and Downstairs from Purgatory, who were just now starting to get up. However, the four men catch XTJ in mid-flight and toss him from the top of the three-level structure all the way down to the safety net below! The crowd goes on the second "Holy Shit!" chant of the night as XTJ nearly causes the net to collapse!)
HS: "Oh my God! Xtreme Jeff was just dropped three stories! Even though he only landed on the safety net and not the ground, that has to hurt!"
FJ: "I think Xtreme Jeff just broke the ‘high-flying' record here in the AWA!"
(Terry looks on in shock as XTJ plummets all the way down to where they began and then looks up to see Mashed Underwear and Split Image heading for him. At the same time, The Association suddenly duck under the ladder that was horizontally positioned across the guardrails and push it forward into Downstairs from Purgatory, causing them both to fall back into the garbage chute. The two men go straight down the chute and shoot out the other side, straight into a mound of garbage in a garbage bin! Terry doesn't see this, as all he can see are four people running towards him. Terry lunges forward at Confusion, the one in the front of the line, leaving him Thunderstruck on the spot! Confusion falls back into the others, slowing their charge. Terry steps back and leaps forward again, this time leaving Glass Thunderstruck!)
HS: "My God, this is chaos! Xtreme Jeff just fell three stories! Downstairs from Purgatory both slid down a three story garbage chute! Glass and Confusion have both been Thunderstruck!"
FJ: "Yeah, but Split Image and Mashed Underwear are idiots! They are letting The Association win!"
(Frank is right, it seems, as Split Image and Mashed Underwear all charged towards Terry, leaving The Association to pick up a ladder. O'Hara quickly sets up the ladder and holds it as Taylor climbs up as quickly as he can, which isn't that quick at this point. However, Terry doesn't realize this until it's too late, after taking down both Confusion and Glass with his signature super kick. Terry sees what is happening and points so Reflect and Ford can realize what is happening as well. All three run as fast as they can, but arrive too late as Taylor grabs the title belts!)
FJ: "Damnit!"
HS: "My God! The Association just stole that match away thanks to Mashed Underwear and Split Image!"
FJ: "Downstairs from Purgatory was screwed!"
HS: "I think the real upset here is that The Canucks didn't win, but it doesn't matter now. This match is in the books and we have NEW AWA Tag Team Champions: The Association!"
(The scene shifts back to the trainer's area, where Logan Alexander is having his hand examined and treated after his run in with that snake earlier in the evening. He looks quite distressed and his hand shakes as one of the EMT's examines it.)
EMT: "You were bitten by a snake?"
LOGAN: "Yes! It was a goddamn snake!"
(Logan's shouted response causes the EMT to jump slightly. The EMT looks back up at Logan.)
EMT: "Did you happen to take notice of what kind of snake it was?"
LOGAN: "I have NO idea what it was! All I know is that I opened the bag it was in and that damn snake bit my hand, ok?!"
EMT: "Look… I know you're upset about all this but you're going to have to calm down."
LOGAN: "That's easy for you to say! You're not the one with a mangled hand and a match in just a little while."
(The EMT looks at Logan warily.)
EMT: "You're not seriously considering competing after what happened are you?"
(Logan glares at the EMT.)
LOGAN: "You'd better believe that I'm going to compete! I've never backed out of a fight and I'm not going to start now. Snake needs to fight like a coward to gain an advantage so I'm just going to beat him into submission anyway… even with only one hand!"
EMT: "Without knowing what bit you there's no telling what kind of effect that bite will have on you… I seriously suggest that you reconsider."
LOGAN: "Well… I guess that means this match could be a lot more interesting than I expected. Now… patch up my hand so I can get out of here! The first snake may have caught me by surprise… but I'm going to destroy the other one!"
(The EMT shook his head, but then got back to work cleaning up the injury. The scene shifts back to Herb and Frank at the broadcast position.)
FJ: "You've got to admire his drive and passion Herb. He wants to end this one right now."
HS: "Clearly… but he's not going to be at one hundred percent and there's no telling what kind of side effects will occur. What was Snake thinking by doing that?"
FJ: "He was probably trying to scare or intimidate Logan out of this match, but now he's got the No Limits champion fired up more than ever."
(Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our fifth match of the evening will be for the AWA Cruiserweight Championship featuring Javex Valerius defending against John Williams!"
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place with the least amount of votes is a Submission match. In second place we have a Sandman match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you guys will be an 'I Quit' match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel. The arena lights dim and a single solid blue spotlight falls atop the ramp as The Instrumental only Rock remake of "Heroes" by David Bowie begins to play. The crowd flies into a frenzy and moments later John Williams appears atop the ramp in the middle of the blue spot. He takes in the crowd reaction for a moment before he begins to make his way slowly down the aisle, making sure to interact with the fans as he goes. John reaches the ring and slides in under the bottom rope and springs to his feet and raises both arms in the air which adds yet another level to the deafening screams of the crowd. John then takes the far corner of the ring and fixes his eyes atop the ramp and with a focused stare he waits for his opponent's arrival.)
HS: "Folks John Williams has that look in his eye, he appears to be ready to get the job done here tonight."
FJ: "I hope he is focused on saying I Quit Loud enough for the entire arena to hear."
HS: "That may well happen, however, and not to discount our champions skills, but this match definitely favors Williams, and is right down hs alley with his back ground in submission grappling."
FJ: "Which will make it all the more sweet if he ends up the loser to a man with nowhere near the grappling knowledge."
(John's music fades and the crowd quiets for the most part, but there is still a buzz amongst them. Then moments later "Rompe" by Daddy Yankee hits, and the crowd again explodes. A menagerie of colored lights swirl around the arena, reminiscent of either a rowdy club or a circus - take your pick. Javex storms out of the back, pausing to pose for pictures at the top before making his way down to the ring. He ensures that he slaps every hand humanly possibly, occasionally stopping for picture requests. At the ring, he pauses, smiles, then runs and slides in, setting off pyrotechnics from the ring posts - yes, he has fireworks now, like every other damn wrestler. Getting to his feet, Javex hits each turnbuckle for more posing, more photo ops, and more cheesy goodness.)
HS: "And here is our Cruiserweight Champion, I am sure he is less than happy with the selected stipulation, but he will fight with everything he has all the same."
FJ: "Yeah, besides, I guess he could beat Williams into submission, that works just as good as a limb stretcher, so long as Williams gives up."
HS: "That is very true, but I don't think that will be an easy goal to achieve, John Williams has been in some of the most violent and bloody wars the AWA has ever witnessed, he has put his body on the line countless times, he can take more pain than most men could even dream of."
FJ: "Yeah, the man is a freak as much as I hate everything he stands for. But I think Javex loves being a champion, and he will not give up with out a major fight, Williams may have to actually pull one of Javex's limbs right off to finish this one."
HS: " I hate agreeing with you so often, but again you may well be right. The sad part is it may come to that, and I don't think John would think twice about taking it that far, both of these men have that killer instinct, and add that to the fact that there is a title, and most certainly pride on the line, and we could end up with a bad scene."
(The ref makes his way to Javex and takes the Cruiserweight Title belt from him then shows it to Williams, and holds it high in the air for the crowd to see exactly what is on the line in. The ref then hands the title to the time keeper and turns to each fighter asking if they are ready. Both men acknowledge and appear ready and focused eyes locked on each other across the ring. The ref calls for the bell and the action is underway. The two men take the center of the ring and Williams extends his hand to Javex who looks at him for a second before accepting and the two men shake which brings a round of applause from the crowd.)
HS: "A great show of sportsmanship from these two men here, and I think you don't see near enough of that in the sport these days."
FJ: "On the contrary, I think there is too much!"
HS: "Well I think it sets the tone for the match, I find there to be nothing better than two guys with respect for each other and the sport going toe to toe in the ring."
FJ: "I think it hinders and shows weakness, but I guess we will see who is right won't we?!"
(The two wrestlers come together mid ring again and go to tie up, however Williams quickly breaks the tie up and jumps looking for an arm bar straight off, but Javex recognizes it and pulls away before John can sink the move in tight. John rolls over from his back onto one knee and looks up at Javex who returns the look with a little smile, and shakes his head at Williams.)
HS: "There you saw John Williams grappling Knowledge in use, he tried to lock on what looked to be an arm bar here right off the bat hoping to catch the less experienced Javex off guard, but the champion with a good job in the defense.
(Williams gets back to his feet and moves in and the two lock up again. Williams pulls a quick go behind to take control, Javex attempts to swing an elbow but Williams ducks it and is able to take Javex down to the mat where he begins to work his ground attack on the cruiserweight champion by getting Javex into a seated position and hooking a rear chin lock, and to add force John drives his right knee into the middle back of Javex.)
HS: "John Williams has taken the early advantage here, and it looks like he is going to try and wear down the champion on the ground."
FJ: "Not a bad plan in a match such as this one, the more damage you can do to an opponents limbs and other muscles, the less resistance they will have when it comes down to the wire."
HS: "What is with you, one minute you are mocking everything that Williams does, the next you are hyping his strategy."
FJ: "I am a fair man, I don't know why you would think otherwise!"
HS: "Ha!"
(Javex is able to wriggle loose and get to one knee forcing John to switch to a side headlock, and this allows Javex to get back to his feet, and land a series of elbows causing the breaking of the hold. John hits the ropes once the hold is broken, but Javex catches him with a crisp drop kick right on the chin dropping John, however John is quickly back to his feet only to take another text book drop kick from Javex who this time moves in and begins to work the left arm of Williams with a series of stomps, then Javex twists the arm of Williams and does a Guillotine leg drop across John's Shoulder.)
HS: "The momentum has swung and now it is Javex working the left are of John Williams, obviously looking to perhaps set up a submission of some sort later on."
(Javex pulls John to his feet and backs him into the corner where he begins to unload with a series of hard knife edge chops that echo through the arena, the force so great that Javex has to stop and shake his hand in pain after each chop. He then pulls John out of the corner and whips him into the near ropes and as he comes off nails a bulldog, and then hooks in a side mount chin lock and begins working the neck and upper back of Williams.)
HS: "Javex is working the neck and back of Williams, and I think we know what he would be doing that for."
FJ: "Obviously because it hurts him Summers, why do you have to be so cryptive all the time?"
HS: "I was hinting more toward that Dragon Sleeper that Javex has been known to use in the past."
FJ: "Oh yeah, that too, I thought that was obvious though, that's why I did not mention it."
HS: "Sure Frank, whatever you say."
(John has a pained expression on his face, and the referee leans in with the microphone and questions Williams on whether he wishes to give up.)
WILLIAMS: "Not a damn Chance!"
(Javex wrenches tighter on the hold and Johns grimace grows, and again the ref leans in to ask him.)
REF: "How bout it John?"
WILLIAMS: "How bout you get that microphone out of my face."
(Javex holds the hold for only a few moments longer before releasing his grip and pulling John back to his feet and backing him into the corner once again. Javex then whips John across the ring and he hits chest first into the far turnbuckle. Javex then follows him across and leaps looking for a flying splash, but John have sensed it as he quickly drops to the mat causing Javex to hit hard with his face against the top turnbuckle which sends the cruiserweight champ to the mat and both men are down.)
HS: "What instincts by Williams, he sensed what was coming and even in the groggy state he is in he has the presence of mind to duck out of the way, and now it is anybodies game once again."
FJ: "I think he tripped."
HS: "What?"
FJ: "He tripped, that is why he went down, it was a fluke."
HS: "All the years we have worked together, and I still don't get you, I don't know if I ever will."
(Williams is first to drag himself up and he takes a minute to shake out the cobwebs before making his way over to Javex who is just starting to pull himself up now. John helps him the rest of the way up only to pick him up with a scoop and slam him back to the canvas, which he follows up with a guillotine leg drop. John then makes his way to the right leg of Javex which he grabs, setting the foot on the second rope, then straddling it he jumps and lands with all of his weight on the knee of Javex. John repeats this process twice more then pulls Javex away from the ropes and grabs the leg quickly locking in a heel hook which instantly strikes a grimace of pain on the face of Javex, who lets out a quick groan which prompts the ref to slide in with the mic."
REF: "What do you say Javex"
JAVEX: "Not happening!"
(John quickly turns his body a bit applying a little more pressure on Javex who again lets out a grimace, again the ref is about to move in with the mic when Javex stops him.)
JAVEX: "Nothing has change, save your energy."
(The ref backs away, and moments later Javex is able to twist the right way and take the pressure off the hold. John tries a quick transition to a knee bar but Javex is able to pull loose. John turns and is quick back to his feet as he stares down at the man on the mat. Javex uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet and takes a couple of step and he is visibly limping.)
HS: "That heel hook submission took its toll on the champ, as the limp shows."
FJ: "That did look painful, glad I am over here."
HS: "I on the other hand wish just a little bit that it was you in there."
FJ: "You are malicious, why wish harm on an innocent like me."
HS: "Wow, I have to call the people at Websters."
FJ: "Why?"
HS: "I need to ask them when they changed the meaning on the word innocent."
FJ: "Hillarious!"
(John is quick to stay on top of Javex and not allow him much time to recover as he moves in and backing Javex up against the ropes lands a series of chops which visibly stun Javex. John then whips him to the far ropes and as he returns John catches him with a spine buster and quickly transitions into a mount position where he begins to work Javex over with a series of punches, and elbows. Javex tries to cover up, but some of the shots land flush and Javex looks dazed, and he quickly throws a hand straight up in an attempt to grabs the head of Williams and pull him down, but John is quick to thwart the attempt grabbing the arm and quickly pulling out of the mount and going for an arm bar once again. He nearly has it, but Javex is able to shift his weight at the last possible second before John can extend. Javex is able to grab his own wrist preventing John from completing the hold, and John thus lets go and instead begins to work the shoulder of Javex)
HS: "I am impressed with the defense of Javex here tonight, it is almost like he has scouted some of the techniques Williams likes to use."
FJ: "Imagine a man scouting his opponent, I think this is the first time it has ever been done, give it up for Javex the pioneer ladies and gentlemen."
HS: "You know what I meant, but thanks for keeping things interesting."
(John continues to work Javex's right shoulder from a position on one knee, until Javex is able to shift his weight and in doing so he is able to pull John through the ropes and spill him to the floor. Javex then rolls away a bit and remains down for a moment, a pained look obviously on his face from the damage done to his arm thus far.)
HS: "Now it is Javex taking advantage of knowing where he is, and smartly tossing Williams to the outside, and earning himself a rest, and some time to recover, but John may have already done the damage, as the limp is still then and Javex now seems to be favoring his shoulder just a bit."
FJ: "That is where John's jiu-jitsu background is coming in handy, moves that look like an everyday stretch can be as painful as the day is long if worked correctly."
HS: "But I give props to Javex, he has held his own here, and even he knows and would readily admit to you, he is outmatched in this style of match. But I would not count him out, he has a lot of heart."
(John slides back into the ring, and heads toward the downed opponent, but when he gets close Javex quickly takes him down with a drop toe hold and quickly transitions to an STF, and locks it in mid ring.)
HS: "OH LOOK OUT! STF…
FJ: "He was playing possum Summers, a smart move, and now look, he might end this thing right here and now!"
HS: "Look at the pained expression on the face of Williams, this might do it, how long can John hold out?"
(John lets out a grunt showing the pain, as he struggles to get loose or pull himself to the ropes, but thus far is having little success. The ref sees the look on Johns face and slides in with the mic.)
REF: "How bout it John?"
WILLIAMS: "How about backing up a step, you got the garlic breath!"
(Javex continues to hold onto the STF, this time pulling back with even more force, and the grimace grows on Johns face, as he lets out a pained grunt once again, prompting the ref to stop in.)
REF: "Ready to give it up John?"
WILLIAMS: "NOOOOOO!"
HS: "What heart Williams is showing here, he has been in that move for some time, it has got to be hurting him in a bad, bad way."
FJ: "Agreed, even if he is able to get loose, he may not be able to mount much of an offensive!"
(In what seems almost like a last ditch effort, John is able to reach up and use his strength to pry Javex's hands looks and break the hold. John quickly scrambles away and gets to his back to attempt to defend himself. Javex not wanting to let the man rest comes barreling in, but as he does John catches him in his signature triangle choke hold.)
HS: "Look out, out of nowhere, John Williams has caught Javex in Hush, and this might swing things in his favor real quick."
FJ: "But Summers, Javex is not going to say I quit in this, if anything John will put him to sleep, and he cant say I quit if he is dreaming!"
HS: "You have a point there, and it looks like John agrees."
(Williams releases the pressure on the hold and Javex pulls out however John is able to lock onto him with a body guard using his legs to grapevine the rib area of Javex who struggles to get away, then attempts to get out by firing punches to the head of Williams who eats a couple then quickly throws his legs up in the air, almost as if he is going for a triangle once again, however this time he brings his left leg right over the head of Javex and hooks onto his left arm. John then shifts his weight out from underneath Javex and twists pulling Javex's arm back into a hammer lock like position. John then turns and leans forward so all of his weight is pulling up in the shoulder joint of Javex who quickly lets out a scream. The ref sees the look of distress and moves in.)
REF: "What do ya say Javex?"
JAVEX: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
HS: "Look at the pressure on his shoulder, it looks like it is about to pop, how long can he withstand this?"
(Williams leans forward just a little more applying a little more pressure, and Javex lets out another pain filled scream.)
REF: "How about it Javex"
( Javex lets out another scream in so much pain it looks like he is about to pass out.)
JAVEX: "AHHHHHHHHHHH"
REF: "Javex?"
JAVEX: "I QUIT!"
HS: "That's it, this one is over, John Williams wins, and has won his first ever Cruiserweight Title here in the AWA!"
FJ: "What the hell was that Summers, I have never seen anything quite like it?"
HS: "If I have done my research correctly that move is called an Omoplata, which is a Jiu-Jitsu move."
FJ: "Well it was sick Summers, he nearly pulled Javex's arm off, did you see the angle of his shoulder when he finally had to give in?"
HS: "Painfully yes, I am surprised he was able to hold on as long as he did, that move was devastating, I give Javex all the credit in the world for fighting like that."
(John is now up and the ref hands him the cruiserweight title belt which he looks at and flips onto his shoulder. John then turns to Javex who is disappointed but regaining his feet. John moves over to him and the two men stare each other down before John extends his hand which Javex stares at for a moment before shaking in another sign of respect.)
HS: "Sportsmanship at its finest right there, both of these guys are class acts."
FJ: "What a great match Summers, John Williams proved that he is most likely the best submission fighter in the AWA today, and quite possibly all time."
HS: "It was a great performance, from both men actually, but this is John's day. I am sure Javex will have many more days to come, at least he can hold his head high. So folks John Williams leaves the Superdome tonight with the Cruiserweight Title around his waist, and that means that any doubters of his Grand Slam accomplishment can give up their doubts, he has now officially won it all here in the AWA."
(Javex exits the ring first as Johns music plays. The fans all give their props to Javex as he makes his way up the ramp, obviously a bit disappointed. Moments later John follows taking the time to work the fans as he goes. The arena is alive with flash bulbs as John stop atop the ramp and raises the Cruiserweight title belt high into the air in his right hand. He then turns and with a final look around disappears behind the curtain.
HS: "And now I'm being told A.C. Smith is pulling into the arena!"
FJ: "You mean the soon-to-be-former United States Champion? He's probably clutching his belt with his white-knuckled hands."
(We see Smith getting out of his car, belt and equipment bag in hand. He tries to walk into the arena, but is stopped my Mark Keller.)
KELLER: "A.C., you've got a huge match with Jeff Christianson coming up tonight. Tell us what's going through your mind right now."
A.C.: "I'm here for one reason, and that's to defend my title. I know what Jeff Christianson is capable of doing in many forms. In one form, he's a world-beater. Unfortunately for him, that form isn't here tonight. The man here tonight is a coward who talks a big game, but can't back it up anymore. The bottom line is that here at Vortex, he's going to experience more pain than he's ever been through in his career."
KELLER: "Those are big words coming from you. This man was once your mentor in Hellfire."
A.C.: "Mark, as I said earlier, that man is not here tonight. He's dead and buried. The guy I'm facing tonight for the AWA United States Championship is a shell of his former self. Someone who can't win without cheating. But I pulled the rug right out from underneath him with the Faction not being able to interfere. Tonight, it's just me and the Dark Warrior, mano a mano. Nothing can save him from what's been coming to him for over a month, Mark Keller, and that's a fact."
MARK: "A.C., one last question. Does it bother you at all that this man you once admired and respected has made such a 180-degree turn in personality?"
A.C.: "Not really. It wasn't like I went looking for him last month, it was the other way around. Tonight, I'm out to do the same thing I've been doing since 2007 started: Kick ass, take names, attack, and keep coming, all the while bringing honor back to the AWA by defeating those who are out to bury it."
(A.C. walks offscreen.)
MARK: "Back to you, Herb and Frank!"
HS: "Well, actually over to President Gray."
FJ: "Who calls Travis president? Suck up."
FJ: "Bring on more Violence!"
HS: "That exactly what we have next. No Limit Title. Snake Vs Logan
Alexander!"
FJ: "The Animal Vs Low's apprentice. What a bloody battle this proves to
be."
("Waking Up" starts to play throughout the arena. Several moments later
Logan walks out from the entryway. He pauses near the top of the entrance
ramp and then spreads his arms wide, displaying the No Limits belt around
his waist. He holds his hands up making an L with each of them as he basks
in the loud boos of the crowd. He takes off and runs down the entrance ramp
and slides into the ring under the bottom rope. He then rushes to the far
corner and climbs up to the second turnbuckle. He holds both hands up
showing the L sign again and mouthing off to the nearby fans. He drops back
down to the mat and walks around the ring. He takes off his sunglasses, puts
them in his jacket pocket, then removes his jacket and drops it to the
outside of the ring. He then removes the No Limits belt and hands it to the
referee, while awaiting his opponent.)
HS: "There is out No Limit Champion is all of his glory. I have to wonder
how is temperament is after the cruel trick Snake played on his earlier."
FJ: "That wasn't cruel Herb. THAT was priceless!"
(A soft pulsing begins through the arena and instantly the crowd begins
to boo. Across the Tron with each pulse comes an image or words that seemed
to be written in blood.)
(Pulse one comes with the words "Toxic Melody reunited" Across the Tron.)
(The second and third pulse come in rapid succession with the names Snake
diagonal from left to right top to bottom and the second with the word Faith
diagonal from right to left from bottom to top.)
(The fourth and final pulse comes with the image of Faith with her legs
wrapped around Snakes waist and the two kissing over Monica's beaten and
broken body.)
("Survival of the Sickest" by Saliva hits Pa system and following the
words "One, two, three four" a massive Pyro goes off on the stage and when
the flames die Snake and Faith are standing on the rampway basking in the
hatred spewing from the AWA fans. Snake wraps his arms around Faith who
jumps and wraps her legs around his waist as another pyro explodes behind
them. The two then make there way down to the ring where Snake jumps inside
and Faith watches on smiling. Snake then leans down and orders her out of
ringside. She nods and blows him a kiss before she disappears up the ramp.)
FJ: "What's that about! Where is she going? No, don't take my Faith
away!"
HS: "Oh will you just stop it!"
(Hail to the Chief starts and we see President Gray appear through the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in one hand and an envelope in the other.)
GRAY: "Ok guys, here's the deal. Your match had three stipulations voted on by the fans and this match is a best of three falls match. Now, with this in mind, I want to tell you the order of the stipulations and what matches you'll have tonight. In third place, and the first match you'll have in the evening will be a Parking Lot Brawl. You guys will need to run on over to the parking lot when I'm done here."
GRAY: "In second place and the second match of the evening is an Inferno match. So, when you're done, you'll need to make your way to the ring and try to set someone on fire. The most favorite match and one that will be the third fall if it should go that far is the Casket match."
(The fans roar into cheers with the announcement by Gray.)
GRAY: "Oh, and I almost forgot. This match will have a special guest referee. Since the most favorite stipulation that won was the casket match, you will have a special Hall of Fame referee. It was stated in his contract that he had to make an appearance here at Vortex in some sort of 'official business' so I let him pick the match and this was it. Your special guest referee for tonight is a former World Heavyweight Champion, a former Tag Team Champion, a former No Limits Champion, a former Intercontinental Champion, and he's won at least one Hell Bowl and one King of the Kage. Oh, yeah, and he's a 10-time World Champion. Ladies and gentleman, I give you the Legendary Low!"
HS: "You hear that! We start off with the Parking lot Brawl!"
FJ: "And here comes out LOW! LONG LIVE LOW! LONG LIVE LOW! LONG LIVE LOW!"
("Neuköln" by Philip Glass Hits the PA System and none other then the Ten time AWA World
Champion Low appears through the curtain. The fans give a mixed reaction of
cheers and boos, but as he trash talks with some fans down the isle the
boo's take over. He is wearing black wind breakers and a black and orange
stripped ref shirt. As he gets into the ring Logan is all smiles and grins
but Snake is pissed. He is staring nails at Low and cursing under his
breath.)
FJ: "LOW IS BACK!!"
HS: "And look how refreshed he looks! He looks like he lost some weight."
FJ: "Yes, that's fine and good but I want to know where his second all
star column is!"
HS: "Oh, Look at Snake! He isn't happy."
(Snake is toe to toe with Low and saying things under his breath while
all the while Logan leans back on the ropes and laughs. Low merely steps
back and points to his Ref shirt then to Snake and Logan then to the
entrance ramp.)
HS: "Looks like Low wants them to get to the parking lot."
FJ: "Look at Low! Calling it right down the middle."
HS: "Yeah, let's see how long that lasts…."
(Logan and Low leave the ring first side by side with Snake following in
there wake. Up the rampway and into the back with a camera following Low and
Logan chat it up while Snake brings up the rear staring at Low's back with
hatred burning in his eyes. When they reach the doors to the parking lot Low
holds the door open for Logan AND surprisingly for Snake. While Snake has
his eyes on Low and making his way though the door Low rocked him with a
hard right hand. Low lets the door close as Logan rocks Snake with another
hard right hand and then another and on the third Snake shatters backwards
Logan takes the advantage and rushes him. Snake has nowhere to go as Logan
spears him with all the force he could muster. Snake has nowhere to go and
is driven hard into the back of a car on the side near where the trunk is.
Snake's back buckles to the point of touching the hood. Logan doesn't let up
as, in a feat of strength he isn't known for, he lifts Snake, but not over
his head, and drops him face first into the trunk of the car.)
FJ: "Logan told Snake he could be as vicious and Brutal as he was!"
HS: "Snake hasn't even been to bat yet."
(Snake is leaning heavily on the car from the unsuspected onslaught by
Logan. Logan back peddles until his back is pressed against the far fall
then rushes Snake again. Logan was again going for the spear but Snake
catches him coming in and launches him into the air. Logan is airborne for
what seems like hours until he comes crashing down back first onto the roof
of the car. Even Low, the ref, cringes from the massive metallic thud. Logan
Shakes his head to clear the cobwebs but Snake grabs his hair and slams his
head down into the roof of the car again. Logan is out of it as Snake lifts
his head a second time but this time he opens the door and Logan's head
bangles down. Snake smirks and readies himself to crush Logan's skull when
Low begins to scream and dance around yelling ‘Get it off get it off' Snake
turns to look at Low who shrugs and says ‘Spider sorry.' Snake yells
something inaudible and turns his attention back to Logan who is crouching
on the cars roof. Logan launches himself into the air and takes Snake to the
hard concrete floor with a lariat. Logan takes a lot of the impact as well
himself and both men are down. Though the crowd in the arena hate both men
they all applaud there brutal battle. Logan begins to come down and he
drapes his arm over Snakes chest. Low drops into the
cover….ONE….TWO…TH…KICKOUT!!)
HS: "Snake got the shoulder up!"
FJ: "How did he kick out from that?! The back of his head smacked off the
concrete."
(Logan is on his knees with Snake shaking his head softly. Logan gets to
his feet first while Snake is on his knees and drives a hard knee into the
side of his head. With Snake on the ground Logan drops down two elbow drops
in rapid succession before slapping on the ankle lock. Snake is writhing in
agony and Low is down asking him is he wants to give it up but he shakes his
head. After a full minute in the ankle lock Snake manages to spin and throw
Logan face first into the door of the car. Logan hits with a loud thud and
collapses into a heap. Logan is out cold and Snake is still down holding his
ankle as Low stands there staring at his nails as if he was bored. Snake is
the first to his feet but gingerly. Logan is up next and when he sees Snake
still limping he rushes Snake again but again Snake is one step ahead as he
hits his trademark Snake Strike choke sidewalk slam. Logan slams into the
cold concrete and actually spasms. Snake is at a knee holding his ankle
until he realizes that Logan is out and pounces for the three count. Low
drops into position…ONE………..TWO…...KICKOUT!)
FJ: "NO! Logan got the shoulder up!"
HS: "And I hate to admit it but Low has been a almost none factor."
FJ: "Almost!?"
HS: "One could argue that "Spider" bit was a ruse and that was clearly a
bit of a slow count."
(Snake yells something at Low and yanks Logan to his feet. Snake throws
Logan over his shoulder and walks toward the car. It's reminiscent of what
Snake did at Wrestlefest with Sin. Snake lifts Logan up and prepares to toss
him into and through the rear window but Logan must have had this scouted as
he shoves Snake forward and drops down his back. Snake braces himself on the
trunk of the car but when he turns he walks right into a super kick. The
kick actually takes Snake off his feet and he lands with a hard thud on the
trunk of the car. Logan pulls Snake's feet back to the concrete and climbs
up on the car. He crouches and puts Snakes head over his shoulder and drops
down. Snakes face connects with the trunk of the car and he hits the ground
holding his head.)
HS: "Smart move by Logan there. Wear the big man down."
FJ: "BLOOD!!! Snake is busted open!"
( And so he was. Snake was bleeding from a nice sized cut above his left
eye which was shown clearly as he struggled to his feet. Logan had climbed
down from the trunk of the car and takes Snake by the hair and slams his
face down into the trunk leaving a trail of blood. Once Snake was
sufficiently dazed Logan shoves him onto the hood of the car and climbs up
himself. Logan pulls snake to his feet and shoves his head under his arm…)
HS: "Oh my god!!! LA SHOCKWAVE!"
FJ: "And atop a car hood no less!"
(Logan rolls the prone body of Snake to the concrete and looks rather
pleased with himself. Logan jumps down and drops down for the three
count…ONE….TWO….KICKOUT! Snake got the shoulder up again. Logan is furious
as he jumps up and scowls down at Snake. He leans down and grabs Snake by
the hair to pull him up, but on the way up Snake grabs the car door handle
and yanks the door open. The bottom of the door misses faces face by inches
but Logan takes it full on in the face and staggers backwards. Logan is
dazed and on his knees and Snake using the inside of the door now slams it
out again and Logan takes it in the face again and drops to his back.)
HS: "Snake has some fight left in him!"
FJ: "Yeah and that's bad for Logan."
( Snake uses the inside of the doorframe to pull himself up and slams the
door closed. Once he is on his feet Snake has a look of pure pleasure on his
face and pulls Logan to his feet. Logan is in La La Land, where Snake was
recently. Snake grabs the back of Logan's hair and stares directly at the
Ref Low.)
FJ: "What is Snake planning here….Oh god…I think I just figured it out."
HS: "For the love of God Snake don't!"
(Snake uses Logan's face like a battering ram and slams it into the cars
passenger side window with all the force he can muster. Logan's face slams
through the window and he goes limp. Snake yanks Logan out of the window and
tosses him to the concrete. Logan's face, much like Snakes own, is a bloody
mess now. Snake drops down for the cover but Low yells for him to move and
kneels next to Logan.)
HS: "OH what is this!"
FJ: "Low is checking on Logan's condition. He may not be able to continue
the match."
HS: "That's a pile of horse hockey!"
(Low is down with Logan for a full minute while Snake stands there with
his hands on his hips staring at Low with hatred. Low finally stands up and
waves for Snake to cover him but by then Logan was already starting to get
to his feet. Snake yells at Low then throws a quick right hand but Logan,
having time to recover now, counters it and blasts Snake with the Chaotic
collision. Logan drops into the cover and Low drops down for the
count….ONE….TWO….THREE!!)
HS: "Logan did it! He won the first fall."
FJ: "But at what price? Next is that inferno match."
(Low makes sure both men are to there feet before he walks them back to
the arena. Both men climbs into the ring, from opposite sides and steps to
keep them separated, and from the outside Low lights the fire which spreads
around the ring and is quickly up to a six foot high inferno. Snake looks at
the ring of fire with a bit of apprehension and surprisingly so does Logan.)
HS: "What is Logan worried about?"
HS: "The ring is surrounded by fire and your opponent has promised to
shove your face down into it. Wouldn't you be afraid?!"
(The cuts on each man's face had dried up a bit, but both men were still
a bloody mess. Logan and Snake jaw at one another and Logan reminds Snake
that he only needs one more fall. Snake merely shrugs and the two begin to
exchange right hands. Logan throws a right hand but Snake ducks under it and
when LA turns he walks right into a side kick from Snake. When Logan hits
the mat the ring of flames erupts briefly. Snake glances at the fire
cautiously before pulling Logan to his feet and lifting him into the air.
Snake turns and launches Logan into the ropes head first. He lands chest
down on the top rope with his face inches from the flames. Logan, almost
sensing how close his face is to the fire, scrambles backwards until his
feet are back on the mat, but he backs straight into Snake who clubs him
hard on the back of the neck and shoulders. Logan Staggers forward but uses
his hands on the top rope to keep his body away from the flames. When he
turns Snake wraps his arms around him and lifts.)
HS: "FINAL RITES!"
FJ: "No! Logan got a DDT!"
(Truth be told both men hit there moves and now both men were out. Logan
got to his feet first and immediately went to work on Snake. He wanted this
match to be done and over with. Logan mounted Snake and began to drive lefts
and rights into his exposed face. After five or six right hands Logan stood
up and pulled Snake to his feet. With Snake on his feet Logan whips him into
the ropes and when he returns Logan drops him with a neck breaker. La was
far from finished as he yanked Snake to his feet again and whipped him
again, this time into the corner. Logan rushes forward and closelined Snake
into the corner again. With Snake dazing in the corner Logan grabs his face
and begins to bend his head backwards toward the flames.)
HS: "Logan could do it here! He could end this match with the first two
wins."
(Logan continues to push Snakes face backwards making Snakes hair smoke
but not catch fire but Snake drives a knee up into his gut once, but Logan
doesn't release his chin. Snake drives his knee into his stomach a second
time and then a third until Logan is forced to retreat and Snake comes out
of the corner. Snake is wearing badly on his back from how close he was to
the flames. Snake delivers a hard kick to the stomach and lifts Logan up for
the Injection but Logan fights out of it and hits a chop block driving Snake
to a knee.)
HS: "Nice counter to the Injection there by Logan."
FJ: "That's something not many people have been able to do!"
(Logan comes to face Snake and throw a right hand but Snake explodes
outwards and grabs Logan by the sides. Snake lifts LA into the air and
drives him down with a massive Spinebuster that makes the flames explode ten
feet in the air. Snake gets to his feet and grabs Logan by the throat. With
Logan still out of it Snake chokeslams him hard to the mat but doesn't
release his throat. Snake walks Logan to the corner and stuffs Logan face
down between his legs and Powerbombs him neck and back first into the
corner. Logan is seeing birdies from the sudden flurry by Snake and Snake
screams a roar for the crowd and grabs Logan by the throat again.)
HS: "What is Snake doing here?"
FJ: "I don't know, but I don't think we are doing to like it."
(Snake, while still holding Logan by the throat, grabs his shoulder to
straighten his arm. Logan realizing what he is doing tries to fight but it's
too late. Snake shoves his hand and forearm into the flames and his silver
wrist tape catches fire.)
HS: "OH GOD NO!!"
FJ: "Snake wins the second fall!"
(Snake doesn't release Logan's shoulder, but while Logan is screaming Low
quickly cuts the feed to the Inferno pups and the fire dies. Logan's hand
was only in the fire for a few seconds but that wasn't enough for Snake.
Snake releases him and rolls out of the ring to confront Low who says he was
only doing his job. )
FJ: "What does Snake expect from Low?! He couldn't allow his apprentice
to be burned alive!"
HS: "Snake only wants Low to stay the hell out of the match."
FJ: "Low has been fair this whole time!"
HS: "Yeah, fair to Logan!"
(While Low and Snake are arguing on the outside Logan rolls out. He is
furious about his hand and clubs Snake in the back of the head. Snake
stumbles forward and grabs the barricade for support. Logan grabs his wrist
and whips him hard toward the corner of the ring. Snake slams off the ring
post and spins in midair. Logan grabs his injured hand and curses. Snake is
starting to come to when Logan drives a boot into the back of his head and
pulls his to his feet. Again Logan whips Snake this time face first into the
ring post. Snake this the outside padding his face bleeding freely again.
Logan pulls Snake again to his feet with his good arm and whips him a third
time into the ring post. This time Snake hits it with a audible splat as his
bloody face connects with the steel.)
HS: "Look at the viciousness displayed by Logan Alexander."
FJ: "That's ma boy! Make me proud!"
(Logan drops down and applies the triangle choke to Snake, but with his
injured hand he cannot fully lock it in. Snake wiggles free but Logan still
has his arm so he lifts with all his strength and lifts Logan off the
ground. Logan knows what's coming a second to late as he is slammed back
first into the steel barricade with a loud crunch. Both men collapse from
the sheer exhaustion of it all. They have now been fighting for almost forty
minutes. Logan and Snake both get to there feet at about the same time and
begin to exchange quick right hands but Logan ducks under one of them and
locks in a sleeper hold, but again his injured hand and arm come into play
and he cannot fully lock it in. Snake elbows him in the ribs but Logan
drives his forearm, the good one, into the back of his neck. With Snake down
Logan grabs a chair and lays it flat on the ground.)
FJ: "What does out No Limit Champion have on his mind now?"
HS: "We are about to find out."
(Logan hits Snake with a short arm closeline and lays the chair over his
face then proceeds into the ring and up the turn buckle. Logan launches
himself into the air for LA Air but Snake rolls out of the way taking the
chair with him. Logan lands butt first and hops around a bit holding his
back side. While he is doing this Snake gets to his feet. Logan looks over
and brings his hands up a second to late. Snake levels him with the most
vicious chair shot he had ever delivered. Now Logan is busted wide open
again too.)
HS: "What a vile chairshot!"
FJ: "It's a wonder Logan isn't dead!"
(Snake leans heavily on the chair his face bleeding heavily still and
breathing hard. Snake doesn't move until Logan is back on his feet, though
he is wobbling back and forth. Snake swings for the fences but this time
Logan ducks and the chair slams into the steel ring post. The chair drops
from Snakes hand and Logan drops him with a closeline. While Snake is down
Logan leans down and picks up the chair which is covered in his blood.)
FJ: "Time for payback!"
(Snake gets to his feet and Logan Swings and connects with Snake's head
but Snake doesn't go down. He staggers with wild eyes like he has no idea
where he is around the corner. Logan stalks him and when Snake turns Logan
hits him again but again Snake just stumbles toward entrance ramp with
vacant eyes. Logan has a fire in his eyes as he stalks Snake yet again.
Snake stumbles along until he makes it to the entrance ramp before he
turns.)
HS: "Logan No! You'll kill him!"
FJ: "Do it Logan! Finish him!"
(There isn't any kind of light in Snakes eyes and for a moment Logan
looks like he is putting the chair down but then he mouths "Nope" and swung
the chair as hard as he could. The chair connected with such force it bent
and Snake collapsed to a knee and then face down on he ground. The crowd is
chanting holy shit as Logan throws the chair down. Logan leans over to the
casket and throws the lid open then leans down and goes to pull Snake up,
but Snake, acting almost solely on instinct, slips his arm between Logan's
legs and drapes him over his shoulders.)
HS: "Good God, he's alive!"
FJ: "He's not just alive….INJECTION!!"
HS: "Into the casket! Close the lid Snake! Close the lid!"
(Snake slams the lid shut and raises his right arm in victory, though his
eyes are vacant. He has no idea where he is.)
HS: "He did it! We have a new No Limit Champion!"
FJ: "No, Why isn't Low ringing the bell?"
(In the ring Low is turned away from the casket holding his knee. Snake
stares at him uncomprehendingly. Low is still bent over holding into his
knee when the Casket lid flies open and connects with Snake's face with
tremendous force. Snake staggers backwards and Logan climbs out of the
casket. Now Low is watching with a satisfied little smirk on his face. Logan
grabs Snake by the hair and walks him to the casket.)
HS: "There was nothing wrong with Low's knee! Damnit no, not this way!"
(Logan stuffs Snake, who is now motionless and almost unconscious into
the casket and slams the lid shut and Low waves his hand for the bell to
ring.)
HS: "Damnit NO! Low and Logan cheat and steal the win from Snake here
tonight!"
FJ: "Low and his apprentice shut Snake's mouth for good this time!"
HS: "Folks, Larry Porter has Gabriel in the back. We'll take you there right now."
(We quickly switch to a camera backstage, where a very nervous looking Larry Porter is standing by the much bigger Gabriel. Gabriel is in his usual flowing white robes and he has his giant white Holy Bible at his side. Larry hands over a second microphone to Gabriel to avoid having his taken, seemingly learning from pervious interviews. Larry breaks the ice with the first question.)
LP: "Gabriel, you are going to be in the main event tonight, facing NHL for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship. Do you feel nervous at all, this being your first pay per view main event in the AWA?"
(Gabriel looks directly at Larry with an emotionless face. However, his eyes tell us he carries anger, as do his words.)
GABRIEL: "How dare you even think of that question!? AWA's Messenger of God is never nervous for a battle. I am very confident in the abilities God has handed down to me."
LP: "Right, so you expect to win this match?"
(Gabriel doesn't have to answer the question as he simply steps towards Larry and Larry backs up with his hands up in defence.)
LP: "Whoa, okay! I'll take that as a definite yes. So, assuming you do win, what's next? You keep talking about this next level of God's quest. What is the next level?"
GABRIEL: "Larry Porter, you and the rest of the AWA will simply have to wait for that next level to reveal itself. It will suffice for now for me to say that things are going to change once I become the AWA World Heavyweight Champion."
LP: "Well, yeah, obviously. We'll have a new champion."
(Larry's eyes buldge out of their sockets as he realized he shouldn't have said that. Gabriel proves this theory as he shoves Larry into the wall. Larry drops to the ground after flying a few feet forward and Gabriel turns to face the camera directly.)
GABRIEL: "That is what happens to people who try to be ‘smart' with me. Nathan has been doing this ever since I came to the AWA. In fact, everyone has. Well, after tonight, NO ONE is going to be talking like that to me again! People will realize that the strength of God is too much for them to handle once I become champion. Like I have already said, things are going to change once I have beaten Nathan Hawthorne-Lee tonight. The next step of God's quest shall begin and the era of Gabriel will continue to unfold!"
(Gabriel tosses his microphone at Larry, who is slowly getting up to his feet. The cameras switch to Herb and Frank.)
FJ: "Man, I can already see NHL losing!"
HS: "I wouldn't count out the champion, ever. He's beaten all comers so far. But, this has to be one of, if not the, greatest challenges he has had as champion. Will NHL stay champion tonight or will Gabriel achieve his goal here tonight? We'll find out later on."
(Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our seventh match of the evening will be the hopeful culmination of the rivalry between these two. It's Brian Stevens and Onslaught versus Jai Williams and Malakai."
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place with the least amount of votes is a Street Fight. In second place we have a Hell and Back match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you guys will be an Stairway to Hell match just like last year with Brian Stevens!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel. The melodious choir of "American Me" by Yukmouth feat The Outlawz and C Bo kicks into the P.A. speakers as the entire arena goes black. Then blue lights and fog kick up on the entrance ramp. Then three letters, all in different colors, appear in spotlight form on the entrance ramp: a large "C" in Green, a large "S" in Red, and a White "M" respectively dance around on the ramp area as the fog slowly forms around the entrance.)
HS: "The ladders are folded up under the ring, Frank! The barbed wire is being lowered into position! It is now time for a very personal Tornado Tag Team WAR!!"
FJ: "And here comes the money, Herbie!!"
HS: "Um…what?"
FJ: "…never mind."
(The song kicks in, pyro shoots off from both sides of the entrance stage, as Jai Williams, Malakai and a bound Tabitha Rankin make their way through the entrance, through the smoke and fog. Jai acknowledges the crowd as he walks down to the ring, wearing his favorite mink coat, and his 'Crestside Pendant shines in the lights. Malakai drags Tabitha Rankin along by a chain and collar. Tabitha has been provocatively dressed as she cries out of embarrassment all the way to the ring.)
HS: "Poor girl. If someone deserved a break from all the garbage that can surround this business, it's Tabitha Rankin. I mean, she was raped by Low. Went through months of counseling to try and move past that tragic event in her life and, once she reconnects with Stevens and Onslaught, she is kidnapped by The Faction and turned into…this."
FJ: "She looks hot, though."
HS: "They dressed her up like a WHORE!!"
FJ: "Yeah…a hot whore."
HS: "All this is going to do is raise the ire of Stevens that much more and trust me, Frank! That is the LAST THING Jai wanted to do!"
(Jai then climbs the steps and into the ring with Malakai and Tabitha Rankin following closely up the steps. Jai then climbs up on the turnbuckle, and crosses his arms, forming a C with one hand, and a M with his other while Malakai and Tabitha enter the ring. Malakai gives Tabitha a little extra tug on the chain to jerk the collar around her throat. Tabitha holds her neck. Her lips tremble. She has never been more humiliated in her life!)
HS: "This is appalling! To be honest, I've never been so embarrassed to work for this company in all my years here!"
FJ: "WHAT!?"
HS: "Travis Gray and the AWA Front Office should have stepped in here! This match!? This stipulation!? It shouldn't be okay!!! It shouldn't be happening! And, I don't think I'm spilling the beans here, but tonight's match? This is Brian Stevens' last contractual obligation to the AWA! This is the last match he HAS to wrestle in for this company!"
FJ: "Wait…he hasn't resigned a deal?"
HS: "NO! Stevens is a free agent after this is done and NO ONE bothered to step in! Brian Stevens can go to New York! He can go to Nashville or Orlando! Or…Japan."
FJ: "…damn."
HS: "And what? This is how we thank him for his 2 years here? By having his family put into danger? By having them be a simple gimmick!?"
FJ: "Settle down, Summers. Stevens is a big boy and, call it a hunch? Jai Williams is probably gonna get exactly what he deserves here tonight!"
HS: "I damn well hope so!"
(Jai jumps down off the turnbuckle, and takes off his coat, chain and shirt as he watches Malakai insert Tabitha in a single person steel cage at ringside. The referee is given the key and ensures that Tabitha is secured.)
CROWD: "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in!"
(An old British soccer chant breaks out in favor of Stevens.)
CROWD: "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in!"
(The chant gets louder with each and every pass. The chant, which is followed by a succession of claps, is almost deafening!)
CROWD: "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in!"
(Jai and Malakai scream at the fans, be it from the turnbuckle or the ropes themselves! But this Superdome crowd is relentless!! Suddenly, the lights in the arena cut out and the fans erupt!!)
HS: "Are you ready, Frank? Because pay backs are HELL!"
(The lone gritty guitar of Thursday's "Jet Black New Year" hit's us like a brick to the head. White lights dance to wildly to the beat. As synthesizers join the guitar, a flood of red flashing lights join into the fray. Suddenly, the drums kick in and we go into the second intro. The trademark wind machine and smoke machines are blowing wildly as finally, BRIAN STEVENS and ONSLAUGHT make their entrance through the Vortex "O" tunnel.)
HS: "There they are! Brian Stevens and Onslaught! This is both men's final contractual obligation to the American Wrestling Alliance and I don't expect to see either man go out without a bang!"
FJ: "For sure!"
(The fans go crazy as the hooded Stevens walks on the stage as the chaotic smoke and wind violently whip and breeze past him. Onslaught steps up next to Stevens and cracks his knuckles while looking down at their opponents in the ring. After a few seconds on the stage glaring into the ring, Brian Stevens takes off his jacket and he and Onslaught both sprint down to the ring!!! The fans go wild as Stevens and Onslaught both slide underneath the bottom rope! Both Jai Williams and Malakai dive out of the ring and to the floor to regroup.)
HS: "Jai and Malakai hightail it out of the ring like a bunch of scared school girls!"
FJ: "No. It's smart, Herb! Leave Stevens in the ring and let him get worked up! He's just gonna burn himself out and then Jai and Malakai can work him!"
(We go to a close-up of the barbed wire that is dangling from a steel cable 20 feet above the ring. We then go back to the ring and watch Onslaught beg Malakai to get his ass in the ring. Stevens just glares at Jai as the referee backs both Stevens and Onslaught into a corner so the opposing team can get into the ring the match can be started…but suddenly!!)
FJ: "Oh no. Somebody is going to die!"
HS: "C'mon!!!"
(It's the foot soldiers of The Faction!! Bull! Hatchetman! Chopper! Killa B! Brian Cassius! Christina Diamond! The fans start booing as they slowly stalk their way to the ring. Jai Williams smiles as his boys start surrounding the ring and, surprisingly, through all of this, Stevens hasn't taken his eyes off of Jai! Onslaught, on the other hand, is a bit worried.)
HS: "Jeez…so this is a 8 on 2 match now?"
FJ: "Looks that way. When you roll with The Faction? You can pretty much do whatever you want."
HS: "Yeah…great."
(Jai and Malakai cautiously, but definitely more confidently, enter the ring under the bottom rope from the floor and stand in their corner across from Stevens and Onslaught.)
DING!
HS: "Great. There's the bell."
FJ: "Sound at least a little excited!!"
HS: "WHY!? There is 6 people at ringside that have no damn business here!"
FJ: "Think of ‘em as Lumberjacks, Summers! They're making sure the action stays in the ring!"
HS: "It's crap…total crap."
(Jai Williams tells Malakai to wait in the corner and Jai bravely, and cockily, walks center ring and calls out Stevens. Stevens, with his face painted, looks even darker a character than ever before and even through all this…he smirks. Stevens smirks!)
FJ: "Why in the hell is that nut smiling?"
HS: "Maybe he knows something we don't?
FJ: "I've seen that look before, Summers!"
(Stevens backs Onslaughts into the corner and whispers something in his ear. Seconds later, Stevens slowly walks to the center of the ring and the two men get face to face! After Jai Williams runs his mouth for a good couple seconds, Stevens head butts Jai!! Jai reels and Onslaught explodes out of his corner and drills Jai Williams with a Big Boot!! Malakai immediately reacts and tries to clothesline Onslaught, but Onslaught goes underneath the wild arm and Malakai is met by a STIFF Mafia Kick by Stevens to the face! It doesn't take long for The Faction on the outside to react!!!)
FJ: "Here come the troops!!!"
(Killa B is the first one in the ring and Onslaught wastes little time drilling the much smaller man with a vicious Roaring Elbow! Stevens reacts in kind and dropkicks Bull from the ring apron back down onto Brian Cassius on the cement! Both men are down there! Hatchetman and Chopper both enter the ring at the same time and both men are quickly taken down by a sick Front Dropkick by Onslaught!!)
HS: "Oh, wow! Look at the agility from the bigman, Onslaught!"
FJ: "Impressive, for sure! But how long can both guys fight off this many men?!"
(The answer? Not very! Christina Diamond sneaks up behind Onslaught and pops him in the nuts with a Low Blow! Brian Stevens sees this and grabs a handful of Christina's hair and yells something in her face. Suddenly, yet violently, Brian forces Christina's head between his legs and looks to set up for a Piledriver!!!)
HS: "Oh no! Brian! Don't do it!!"
FJ: "She's the reason this whole damn thing started two months ago! She was the bait to lure Stevens into Jai William's web! She's the reason Stevens almost had his brains blown out of the back of his head! He should Piledriver that Scorpion Woman back to Hades!"
(NO DICE!!! Jai Williams flies from no where and clotheslines Stevens to the mat! Christina is freaked out and Jai kneels down to check on her when suddenly…CRACK! Onslaught drives a running knee into the side of Jai's face! Jai crumbles to the mat like a rag doll and Onslaught, holding his groin, grabs the queen of The Faction. Christina Diamond!)
FJ: "Leave the trifling bitch alone, Onslaught!"
(Christina swings wildly at Onslaught but Biggie grabs her hand and shakes his head, disapprovingly. Onslaught walks her by her hand and brings her over to the corner! He lifts her up and set her on the top rope! Onslaught starts to walk away from her when suddenly…)
CROWD: "BOOF! BOOF! BOOF! BOOF!"
(Onslaught smiles and turns around and faces Christina Diamond! He screams "BOOF, BITCH!" before walking back over to her and tucking her head into his shoulder, looking for the BOOF BUSTER!!! However, suddenly…Bull charges in at Onslaught and grabs him by the legs! Onslaught lets go of Diamond as Chopper and Killa B both take Onslaught down to the mat! All three men start lighting him up as Malakai, Jai, and Hatchetman get back up to their feet! Stevens is fighting to a vertical base when, suddenly, Malakai grabs Stevens by the back of the neck!)
HS: "NO!!"
FJ: "Oh, hells yes! The SCD! The sickest finisher in the AWA!"
(Suddenly, from off-camera, we see AC SMITH run into the ring!!! Jai Williams turns around and is quickly brought down by a SICK spear! Hatchetman rushes right into AC Smith and is back body dropped over the top rope and hits hard on the floor below!)
HS: "AC Smith, of all people, has made the save for Stevens and Onslaught! AC Smith is cleaning house!!"
(Malakai rushes at Smith, but Smith somersaults past him, hit's the ropes and bullrushes Malakai and connects with a clothesline! Malakai wobbles, but he doesn't go down! Stevens fixes that as he drops Malakai with a sick leaping Roundhouse kick!)
FJ: "…Chuck Norris is SOOOO going to kill Stevens for stealing that move!"
(Chopper, Bull, and Killa B both see the situation! A pissed off Stevens and Smith await them! The three men get off of Onslaught and exit the ring and tend to their men on the outside and then, FINALLY, AWA Agents, Referee, and Security rush down to the ring and start telling The Faction that it's time to leave and that they're BANNED from ringside!)
HS: "It took what? 8 minutes for this company to realize that this was out of hand?"
FJ: "Meh. I've seen worse, honestly."
HS: "At least the playing fields are being leveled out! At least The Faction is going bye-bye!"
(Cassius leads his excess troops back up the entrance ramp while Jai and Malakai regroup on the outside. Meanwhile, in the ring, Stevens and Smith shake hands and Smith departs from the ring, glaring at Williams on his way out!)
HS: "If looks could kill, Frank? Jai Williams would be DEAD! AC Smith, The US Champion, just shot Jai the meanest look I've EVER seen!"
(Jai Williams looks disgusted by the whole situation. His crew is banned and beaten. His girl embarrassed and nearly beaten. However, he looks like he still has some fight in him! He starts walking up the ring steps as Stevens and a worn-out Onslaught beg him and Malakai to step up! Jai and Malakai are up on the apron…both Stevens and Onslaught charge!! Jai bails out and Onslaught is able to get his hands on Malakai! Onslaught pulls Malakai into the ring the hard way! Over the top rope! Jai thinks about coming in, but a pissed Stevens is waiting!!)
FJ: "Is…is Jai Williams pussing out!?"
HS: "It kinda looks that way! Stevens is BEGGING him to come into the ring and yet…nothing! Jai Williams wants nothing to do with Stevens!"
FJ: "And he's kinda throwing his cousin to the dogs here."
HS: "He IS throwing his cousin, Malakai, to the slaughter!"
(Stevens scoffs at Jai and turns his attention to Malakai. Onslaught brings Malakai up by his ear and once Malakai is up to a vertical base, Onslaught whips Malakai into the corner! Onslaught rushes in with a Body Avalanche! Stevens chases right in after him and connects with running double knees! Both men back up a bit before charging in! Onslaught hit's a Big Boot Scrap while Stevens dropkicks Malakai in the gut! All Malakai can do is collapse!)
HS: "Ugh. This is not good at all for Malakai!"
(Stevens glares at Jai Williams before grabbing the back of Malakai's neck and unloads with a series of short kicks aka Kawada Kicks to the face of Malakai before hitting a HUGE hook kick, also known as The Last Dance! Onslaught heads to the apron and Jai Williams takes a few steps backwards, just in case Onslaught chases him. Onslaught, however, has different plans! Onslaught catapults himself into the ring and twists his body before splashing on the back of Malakai!)
FJ: "Well…these is fun."
(Stevens spits on the downed Malakai before Onslaught says something to Stevens. Stevens smirks as he drags Malakai up to his feet and tosses him to the ropes! Stevens back body drops Malakai on the other side is Onslaught, who spikes down the skull of Malakai with a Strong Brainbuster DDT!!! This is otherwise known as the finisher for Damage, Inc.! The Death Shot!)
CROWD: "Damage, Inc.! Damage, Inc.!"
(Onslaught drags the giant Malakai by his foot, by request of Stevens, out of the ring! Stevens tells Jai that it's just the two of them!)
FJ: "Time to man up, Jai!"
HS: "Time to get what's coming to you, Jai!"
(Finally, Jai slides into the ring and he and Stevens explode at each other with lefts and rights!! Both men swing wildly until finally, Jai Williams gets the advantage and pushes Stevens back into the corner! Jai Williams unloads with clothesline into the corner and connects! Jai quickly unloads with a combo of punches before finally drilling Stevens Stray Bullet Superkick! Stevens crumbles in the corner and Jai Williams starts taunting Onslaught on the outside and the crowd in general!)
FJ: "Stay on him, Jai! He's not that worn down yet!"
(Jai turns back towards Stevens and Stevens grabs Jai and throws him into the corner this time!! Stevens unloads with some stiff kicks to the gut and then, finally, Stevens steps up to the middle rope and boots Jai right in the face! Stevens gives Jai the finger before bringing Jai up into a Fireman's Carry and quickly sprints across the ring and destroys Jai Williams with the Krush Rush! Stevens quickly pulls Jai from the corner, still with the Fireman's Carry intact, and snaps down with a Death Valley Driver!! Stevens smiles as he motions to the back…)
HS: "Who…or what is Stevens motioning for?"
FJ: "I've got no clue, Summers."
HS: "So par for the course then."
(Out from the "O" tunnel steps SARAH HAWTHORNE!!!! She has a ladder by her side and starts walking it down the entrance ramp! Sarah blows Stevens a kiss and Stevens smiles as she reaches the bottom of the ramp and slides the ladder into the ring! Stevens calls for Onslaught to get into the ring as he opens the ladder and sets it up right below the Barbed Wire! Onslaught obliges, slides into the ring and grabs Jai Williams! Onslaught tosses Jai into the corner and watches Stevens start to climb the ladder. Onslaught hoists Jai onto the top turnbuckle while Stevens grabs the barbed wire from the top of the ladder!!!)
HS: "STEVENS HAS THE BARBED WIRE!"
FJ: "Jai Williams! You might as well kiss your ass goodbye!"
(Onslaught tucks Jai's neck into his shoulder as Stevens comes down from the ladder. Once Stevens is down, Onslaught runs the ring with Jai cradled before crashing down to the ring with the BOOF Buster!! Stevens holds up the barbed wire for all the people to see as Stevens moves over to the fallen Jai Williams!)
HS: "What is Stevens thinking?!"
FJ: "I…really don't wanna know! This is gonna get bloody and out of hand!"
(Stevens pulls Jai up by his cornrowed hair and says something to the KO'ed foe. Stevens takes the barbed wire and balls it up in his fists and, suddenly, Stevens shoves the barbed wire in Jai Williams' mouth!!!)
HS: "Oh my God…go wide! GO WIDE! Get off this shot!"
FJ: "Did…Stevens just shove Barbed Wire into Jai Williams' mouth!?!"
(With the excess barbed wire still in a halo off to the side, Stevens locks on the Front Guillotine Choke! The referee doesn't bother checking on Jai, he simply rings the bell!)
DING! DING! DING!
(Stevens doesn't break the choke, but blood is pouring out of the mouth of Jai Williams! Stevens is pulling back as hard as he can, with every bit of his being! He wants Jai DEAD!)
FJ: "Jai needs some help, Summers! Stevens is gonna choke him until he's not breathing!"
(Finally, the referee shows Stevens the key to the cage and Stevens breaks the Choke! Stevens gets up off the mat and grabs the key from the referee and he quickly runs to the cage and unlocks Tabitha Rankin from her prison. The fans applaud as Tabitha runs out from the cage and tightly wraps her arms around Stevens!)
HS: "Brian Stevens has won back his manager! Brian Stevens has freed Tabitha Rankin!"
(Stevens gives Tabitha a kiss on the forehead before Onslaught comes over and hugs the both of them. Sarah Hawthorne, who is standing nearby, gets pulled into the pile by Onslaught who, of course, opts to grab her ass while in the group hug.)
FJ: "Atta boy, Onslaught! To the victor goes the spoils! Grab that ass!"
HS: "If this was Brian Stevens' last appearance here in the AWA, it was definitely a memorable one! Regardless, we thank Brian for his contributions to the AWA and wish him good luck in no matter what happens with his future endeavors."
FJ: "No doubt. Same goes to Onslaught, I suppose."
(We cut to a commercial for Springs and Breaks scheduled in March on the 25th. Then we hear Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our eighth match of the evening will be for the AWA United States Championship! A.C. Smith will defend against Jeff Christianson with the directive that no one can interfere in this match!"
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "Tied for second place were both the Amateur Match and the No Limits Rules match. So the one voted on by you guys will be a Last Standing match!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
(The lights go out suddenly in the arena, and as they do, a huge white DW appears across the video screen. "About All That" by Fat Joe, Lil' Wayne, and Birdman blares over the PA and the crowd begins to boo has the AWA Hall of Fame member Jeff Christianson makes his way out. We see a blue strobe light race throughout the arena, as well as clips throughout the career of Jeff Christianson. Suddenly, we see a huge pyro explosion on stage as the lights come back on. Standing under the DW is Jeff Christianson! Jeff Christianson has a stern look on his face as he starts to walk to the ring in his red and white jumpsuit.)
HS: "Here comes the challenger for the United States title."
FJ: "The second most decorated star in AWA history Herb. This man has just about done it all in the AWA. Thanks to his most recent championship victories in the Cruiserweight division, he holds the distinction of being the ONLY man who is a triple Grand Slam winner, having won the Cruiserweight, Tag Team, United States and World titles three times each! Now he's going for another AWA record by attempting to win his fourth United States championship and tie the record set by Low's apprentice."
HS: "That's all true. But the current United States champion is not going to prove to be a pushover here tonight at Vortex."
(Jeff Christianson walks by the fans ignoring them. We see a few fans try and swing at him, so once he reaches the bottom of the map, he swings at whoever's there, backing the crowd off. We hear the chorus of boos as Jeff Christianson begins heading towards the ring with a smirk on his face. He climbs up onto the camera side part of the ring and turns around and throws his hood off. We see him pose for a couple of pictures before stepping through the ropes. Christianson walks over to the other side, and jumps up on the turnbuckle, holding his arms up. He hops down and walks to the other side, throwing his arms up again. "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" starts playing through the arena and the fans start to cheer.)
HS: "And now… the champion!"
(The lights dim, as the music plays. A.C. struts out in his ring attire and stops just in front of the fireworks that go off behind him. He looks around at the crowd briefly then looks down towards the ring fixing his gaze on Jeff Christianson. A.C. starts walking down the entrance ramp towards the ring.)
HS: "This match has been brewing between these two for a little over a month, ever since Christianson interrupted A.C. Smith's appearance on Gloria Por Hablar."
FJ: "And they've just stayed at each other the whole time since then. Refereeing for one another. They've had a few matches. Jeff jumped him with the rest of the Faction. It's just been a steady boil between these two. Smith won't have a chance in this one though."
HS: "Well if Christianson is going to win this one, he will have to do it on his own. No interference is permitted in this match with a penalty of suspension for anyone who does."
FJ: "Yeah… I remember… Smith is such a spoilsport…"
(Smith reaches the ring and climbs up onto the ring apron. Christianson just watches him as he does so. But once Smith starts to enter the ring, Christianson comes right at him and nails him with a running knee lift as Smith gets through the ropes. The bells rings.)
FJ: "And this one is underway! Go Warrior!"
(Christianson unloads on Smith with a series of chops. Smith looks unaffected. Christianson hits a pair of jabs, follows with a knee to the stomach of Smith and then a European uppercut, which staggers Smith back into the ropes. Christianson whips Smith across the ring. Christianson delivers a clothesline that rocks Smith, but he stays on his feet. Christianson runs and hits the ropes and attempts another clothesline, which Smith ducks. Christianson hits the far ropes and comes back, right into a big spear from Smith, which is met with a roar of approval from the crowd. Smith stands up and removes the United States title from around his waist and tosses it to the referee. He grabs Christianson, picks him up and tosses him into the nearest corner. He rushes into the corner, hitting a lariat that takes Christianson off his feet again.)
HS: "The United States champion has taken control quickly in this one."
FJ: "It's still early Herb. Jeff will get back in control soon enough."
(Smith picks Christianson up again and follows with a power slam out into the middle of the ring. He mounts Christianson and starts hitting a series of forearms to his head. Smith stands and stomps away on Christianson. He then backs off and lets the referee start to count. 1…2…3…4… Christianson rolls over and starts to get back up. Smith stalks him waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Christianson shakes off the effects of the forearm smashes. He turns back towards Smith and receives a kick to the midsection. Smith hits an elbow to the head of Christianson then pulls him over and sets up for a power bomb. Christianson back drops his way out of the move though. Christianson gets back to his feet, but Smith is up faster. Smith tries for a running boot which Christianson ducks. Smith turns around into a poke to the eyes from Christianson.)
HS: "Some good back and forth action from these two until Christianson decided to take a shortcut."
FJ: "It's all fair here."
(Christianson hits a pair of kicks to Smith's midsection, doubling him over, then follows with a quick DDT. Christianson runs to the ropes and comes back to hit a running knee drop. He stands up quickly and walks over to Smith's feet and grabs hold of one leg. But before he could resume his attack, Smith kicks him off and puts him through the ropes to the floor. Smith gets back to his feet and walks over to the ropes where Christianson had gone out to the floor, only to see that Christianson wasn't there. Smith climbs out of the ring and glances around. He then grabs the ring apron and pulls it up from just inside arm's reach in case Christianson is lying in wait. Nothing happens, so Smith drops down to look under the ring. As he did that, Christianson quickly emerges from under a different side of the ring. Smith starts to climb back to his feet, not having spotted Christianson under the ring. As he reaches his feet, Christianson runs and jumps onto the ring steps then leaps from them before hitting a dropkick to Smith's back, knocking him to the floor. Christianson rolls over and reaches under the ring for a weapon. Smith, having been caught off guard from Christianson's attack, is a little slow to get back up. Once he gets to his feet, Christianson is ready for him and he hits his over the head with a metal folding chair. Smith staggers but stays on his feet. Christianson hits him a second time and then a third time before Smith goes down.)
FJ: "Now we're finally getting into the good stuff here Herb. Out on the floor, there's plenty of plunder to be had."
(Christianson digs around under the ring for a while before he pulls out another chair. Smith is slowly getting to his feet again as Christianson walks over with a pair of chairs. He drops one to the mats and hits Smith across the back with the other one. Christianson follows with another shot as Smith arches his back in pain and rolls away, before holding his back. Christianson follows him though. He takes the chair and adjusts his grip as he steps over Smith. He takes the chair and swings it down, but this time he drives the edge of the chair into the back of Smith's left knee. Smith cried out in pain as Christianson repeats the move a second time and then a third. The crowd starts to boo loudly.)
HS: "What vicious shots from Christianson!"
FJ: "A brilliant strategy though Herb. He's reducing the mobility of Smith, he's affecting his power game and you can't be the last man standing if you can't stand at all."
(Christianson drops the chair he had been holding and goes to retrieve the other one. Smith is left rolling on the mat clutching at his left knee. Christianson comes back over to Smith with the second chair in hand, but he starts stomping away at Smith's head. When Smith covers up, Christianson smacks his knee with the chair again. Smith cries out in again and grabs hold of his knee. Christianson takes a step back then jumps and hits a knee drop to Smith's head, dazing him. Christianson puts the chair down and drags Smith over so his head is resting on it. He then picks up the second chair and measures Smith. He draws back and swings, looking for a con-chair-to but Smith still has the presence of mind to roll away, just avoiding the vicious attack. Christianson takes a step back, shaking his hands for a few moments after missing the chair shot. Smith rolls over and manages to rise to one knee. Christianson rushes him with the chair held high. Smith pushes up and comes forward, catching hold of Christianson in mid swing, and falls backwards with a release belly to belly suplex, throwing Christianson back first into the ring steps. The crowd cheers and an "A.C.!" chant starts in the crowd. They rally behind the champion as both men lie on the mats.)
HS: "The champion still has a lot of fight left in him. He's got a chance to catch his breath and see if he can shake off the effects of the attacks on his knee."
(The referee looks down of the ropes and begins his count. 1…2…3… Smith has been stirring on the mat for a few moments and is now in the process of sitting up. Christianson looks like he might be out after the hard throw into the stairs. 4…5… Smith grabs the guardrail and starts pulling himself up. Christianson starts showing signs of life as he pushes himself up. 6…7… Smith is back on his feet and is limping on his left leg. Christianson is up on his knees, using the steps to hold his balance as he goes the rest of the way to his feet. The referee sees that both men are up and stops his count. Christianson turns around and it hit with a chair to the face as Smith tosses it at him. Christianson stumbles backwards and falls to a sitting position on the floor. Smith limps over and grabs Christianson. He pulls him back up to his feet and whips Christianson into the guardrail. He holds on and then whips Christianson into the ring apron. He still holds on and whips Christianson into and over the ring steps, causing the top half to come off and crash loudly to the floor. The crowd roars in approval. Smith kneels down and starts looking under the ring.)
HS: "The champion as taken control of the match again and has all the momentum right now."
FJ: "Don't worry. The Dark Warrior will pull it back together… he has to…"
(Smith pulls out a garbage can from under the ring. He tosses it into the ring and then goes back to searching under the ring. He goes back under and pulls out a pair of garbage can lids. He raises them into the air and claps them together above his head. The crowd cheers in approval. Smith walks around the ring to where Christianson is now back on his feet, holding his back after being whipped around earlier. Christianson turns and sees Smith coming at him with a garbage can lid in each hand. He backs away and looks to be begging off, but Smith keeps right after him. Christianson turns and slides back into the ring quickly. Smith follows him in. Christianson rushes at him and throws a punch, but Smith quickly blocks it with one of the garbage can lids. Christianson back up holding his hand in pain. He recovers quickly and throws a punch with his other hand, which Smith blocks in the same fashion. As Christianson back up this time, Smith follows and hits a stiff jab with the garbage can lid to the face, rocking Christianson back. Smith follows with a second one then hits a jab to Christianson's midsection and follows that with a quick one two punch combination that knocks Christianson into the ropes. Smith hits another stiff punch to the midsection of Christianson and finishes with an uppercut. Christianson drops to the mat. Smith glances down at the heavily misshapen garbage can lids. He drops them down to the mat. The referee starts to make his count. 1…2…3…4…5… Christianson reaches up and grabs hold of the ropes. He struggles to start pulling himself up. 6…7…8… Christianson steadily pulls himself up until he's on his feet and draped over the top rope.)
FJ: "True championship material there! Look at Christianson still hanging in there!"
HS: "He's hanging in… but he's not in good condition. He looks out on his feet and that last exchange has left him busted wide open."
(Christianson is indeed bleeding now as the blood drips from his forehead and from the corners of his mouth. Smith walks over and grabs hold of the ropes he pushes it out and then sharply pulls it back into the ring, snapping Christianson back into the ring hard. Christianson hits the mat and somersaults over backwards. Smith turns and stalks Christianson. Christianson slowly gets back up. He turns towards Smith, who throws a punch at him. Christianson raises the garbage can lid he had concealed when he got up and blocked the punch. But Smith didn't seem fazed as he quickly swung with his other hand and drove the lid back into Christianson's face and knocked him back through the ropes and out to the floor. Smith goes through the ropes and out to the floor after Christianson. Christianson has just grabbed something from under the ring and has it partially concealed from sight. Smith walks over to Christianson and steps over him. Christianson rolls over and then holds up a stop sign, which is what he'd been hiding. Smith pauses for a moment in confusion. In that moment though, Christianson kicks up and delivers a low blow bringing Smith to a halt as he doubles over.)
FJ: "See that! Even a former police officer will still obey the rules of the road!"
(Christianson stands back up and hits Smith across the head with the sign. Christianson drops the sign onto the floor and grabs the still doubled over Smith. He hooks his arms with a double underhook and then delivers a Pedigree onto the stop sign. Christianson remains kneeling over Smith and yells at the referee to start his count. The referee leans over the ropes and does so. 1…2…3…4… At this point, Christianson has had a change to catch his breath and he stands back up and moves away from Smith. 5…6… Smith stirs and pushes himself up. Christianson just looks down at Smith in disbelief. 7… Smith moves up to a kneeling position. 8… Smith is back up. Christianson comes at Smith and hits a dropkick to his left knee bringing him back down. Christianson starts stomping away at Smith's knee hoping to weaken it further. Christianson turns away and heads around to a different side of the ring. He drops down and starts looking under the ring again. Smith slowly gets up, now favouring his left knee again.)
HS: "These two are trading fall attempts and they are both really going at it now as foreign objects start to play a more prominent part of this match."
FJ: "I wonder what Jeff has in mind now…"
(Christianson can be seen at the side of the ring wrapping something around his hand. He keeps his hand concealed as he gets up and goes back around the ring to where Smith is walking off the attack against his knee. Christianson sneaks up behind him. The fans yell to Smith and he suddenly swings around with a lariat attempt, which Christianson ducks under. Smith tries for an elbow smash and Christianson ducks that as well. Christianson responds with a punch hitting Smith with whatever he'd wrapped around his hand. Smith dropped to the mats with one punch. Christianson shakes his hand slightly allowing everyone to see the length of chain he'd wrapped around it.)
HS: "What a dirty trick to pull!"
FJ: "It's all legal here. And I didn't see you complaining when Smith was battering Christianson with those trash can lids earlier."
(Christianson unwinds a length of the chain and starts whipping Smith across the chest with it. Smith covers up instinctively, but Christianson doesn't stop. Smith rolls over and Christianson just takes a few more shots whipping Smith across his back. The crowd boos loudly at the display. Christianson turns towards them and tell the nearest fans to shut up. He grabs Smith and pulls him up to his feet. He pulls him over to the ring apron and rolls Smith into the ring. Christianson follows him back inside. Smith crawls towards the ropes and starts to pull himself up. Christianson steps over behind Smith and then wraps the chain around Smith's neck and starts choking him with it.)
HS: "Now this is getting too carried away!"
FJ: "Hey is comes with the territory Herb. We're going to see if Smith's got what it takes or if Christianson is going to put him to sleep."
(Smith struggles to his feet and is fighting against Christianson, trying to release the pressure around his neck. Christianson leans away from Smith, pulling back with his own body weight and keeping the chain tight against Smith's neck. At this point's Smith's face has turned a bright red as he struggles for breath. He grabs hold of the ropes for balance and then swings his foot back catching Christianson with a low blow. Christianson falls to the mat and Smith follows suit, but the chokehold is released.)
HS: "Desperation move from the champ has given him a little more breathing room here… literally."
(Christianson is left lying in a fetal position after the low blow and Smith is just lying prone on the mat as the referee starts another ten count. 1…2…3…4… Christianson is the first one to show signs of life and he starts to sit back up. 5…6… Christianson slowly stands. 7…8… Christianson raises his hands triumphantly but is suddenly jerked backwards as the chain is pulled taut. He spins around off balance and sees Smith sitting up on the mat. Smith slugs him hard and Christianson stumbles back into the referee disrupting the count. Smith keeps hold of the chain as he stands up. He pulls Christianson back over and levels him with a hard clothesline. Smith kneels down and starts unwrapping the chain from around Christianson's hand. Once he finishes he tosses the chain aside. He turns his attention back to Christianson and gets a rake of the eyes for his trouble. Christianson rolls out of the ring while Smith rubs at his eyes. Christianson quickly drops down to the mats and pulls a table out from under the ring, followed by a second, and then a third.)
FJ: "Look at all this! Tables, tables and more tables!"
(Christianson glances into the ring and sees Smith getting back to his feet. He quickly picks up one of the tables and slides it into the ring and then turns away from the ring. Smith turns and sees Christianson as he kneels down beside the ring. Smith walks over to the side of the ring Christianson was closest to. Christianson stands back up and Smith grabs him by the head. Christianson looks surprised as Smith starts to lift him off the floor from the ring, but Christianson swings the chair he'd picked up, when he knelt down moments ago, and clocks Smith with it, knocking him back down in the ring. Christianson lands back on his feet and smirks slightly. He turns his attention back to the two tables on the floor and starts setting them up side by side as the ref starts making his ten count in the ring with Smith down again. 1…2…3… Smith already starts to sit back up. He reaches up, touches his head lightly and sees that he is now bleeding as well. 4…5…6… Christianson finishes with the tables and then he withdraws a kendo stick from underneath the ring. Smith climbs back onto his feet in the ring. Christianson takes a couple of practice swings and then climbs back into the ring. Christianson measures Smith then runs at him and hits him across the back with the kendo stick, but it doesn't faze Smith at all. Christianson hits him again, but Smith just turns and glares at him. Christianson takes a third swing and this time Smith catches hold of the kendo stick between his arm and his side. He grabs the kendo stick and wrenches Christianson forward and headbutts him. Christianson stumbles back letting go of the kendo stick. Smith drops the stick and starts unloading with punches against Christianson until he backs him into the ropes. Smith whips him across the ring and drops Christianson with a big boot.)
FJ: "No! Come on Christianson! Don't let it end like this! Get up and keep fighting!"
(Slowly Christianson climbs back to his feet. Once he has, Smith hits him over the head with the garbage can that had been brought in and then forgotten about. Christianson staggers, but stays on his feet. Smith takes the garbage can and puts it over Christianson, leaving the lower half of his body out of the can. Smith then scoops Christianson up onto his shoulder. He grabs the handles of the garbage can and moves Christianson out in front of him and holds him upside down like that.)
FJ: "What is he going to do?"
HS: "I think he's taking out the trash!"
(Smith glances around at the crowd as Christianson kicks his feet wildly. The crowd cheers loudly as they expect something big here. Smith doesn't disappoint. He wraps his arms around the garbage can and then tombstone pile drives Christianson while he's still inside it.)
HS & FJ: "OH MY GOD!"
(Smith lets go of the garbage can and Christianson falls flat onto the mat. Smith grabs hold of the garbage can and sits Christianson up then pulls him free of the garbage can. Christianson flops back onto the mat looking like a bloody mess after the pile driver. The referee looks down at Christianson and starts to count. 1…2…3…4…5… Christianson starts moving around a bit. He glances around and shakes his head a bit. Smith stays where he is and keeps watching him. 6…7… Christianson reaches out to the ropes and grabs hold of them. He pulls himself over. 8…9… Christianson pulls himself out of the ring and keeps holding the ropes as his feet touch the floor. The referee stops the count as Christianson is now on his feet again.)
HS: "I don't know how… but after that incredible pile driver Christianson is somehow back on his feet."
FJ: "No one wants to lose to A.C. Smith, Herb. It's incredible motivation."
(Smith walks over and kicks through the ropes knocking Christianson down to the floor. Smith turns away and walks over to the table that is still sitting in the ring and starts setting it up near the corner. Christianson climbs back to his feet by the guardrail and starts staggering around the ring by the timekeeper's position. Smith finishes with the table and then turns to find Christianson. Smith goes over to the ropes and climbs out He walks over and grabs hold of Christianson. Christianson swings around and nails Smith with the United States title belt. Smith drops to the mats. Christianson drops the title and grabs hold of Smith's left leg and applies a standing ankle lock on the floor.)
FJ: "Ankle lock! This could be enough for Christianson to keep Smith down for ten!"
(Smith starts screaming in pain as Christianson tightens his hold and begins wrenching on Smith's left knee as well. Smith rolls over and tries to kick Christianson off, but he holds on stubbornly even after falling over from the kick. Christianson stands up again and torques Smith's ankle and knee again. Smith struggles to roll over again and he kicks at Christianson again. Christianson ignores the kick and then drops down to the mats applying a grapevine along Smith's left leg.)
FJ: "Grapevine Ankle Lock! Smith is done!"
HS: "There aren't any submissions, Frank."
FJ: "But he's sure not going to be able to stand after this!"
(Smith continues to scream in pain. He drags himself across the mats looking for something to save himself with. Christianson keeps applying more pressure to Smith's knee and ankle. Smith manages to get close to the ring apron. Gritting his teeth against the pain he's enduring, he reaches under the ring apron. Christianson doesn't notice Smith reaching for something as he has all his focus on applying the ankle lock. Smith withdraws something from under the ring… a fire extinguisher. He aims the large nozzle towards Christianson as best he can and let's loose with it. The first blast from it just misses Christianson, but he reflexively covers up, allowing Smith to twist around to face him and really give him a face full. Christianson rolls away from Smith to get away from the cloud of chemicals of the fire extinguisher. Smith manages to back away from Christianson as well.)
HS: "Looks like Smith managed to escape after all."
FJ: "He got lucky… How could he know there was a fire extinguisher there?"
HS: "Well these two have been raiding the underside of the ring for weapons all during this match. I'd say he just happened to remember where it was."
(Christianson wipes his face off frantically and Smith drags himself over to the ring steps to climb back to his feet. Smith starts climbing to his feet and limps over towards the ring, keeping his weight off his left leg. Christianson gets up a few moments later, still rubbing at his face. They both climb back into the ring. Christianson looks around the ring for a weapon and spots the garbage can from earlier still sitting there and still relatively intact. He grabs hold of it and rushes Smith. He swings high and Smith drops to one knee and ducks under it. Christianson turns around and Smith brings him down with a double leg takedown. Smith quickly moves to a mount position and starts punching away on Christianson. Christianson covers up to protect himself. Smith climbs off him and moves to the ropes so he can stand back up. Christianson rolls over and starts to climb back up as well.)
HS: "And after all this punishment these two men are still getting up and ready to dish out more."
FJ: "Don't expect it to last much longer Herb. Smith's on his last leg in there."
(Christianson is up just a bit faster than Smith again. He comes at Smith, but Smith steps forward into him and lifts him up before hitting a big sidewalk slam onto the garbage can flattening it. Smith drops to the mat clutching at his left leg though.)
FJ: "See Herb. Christianson has done too much damage to Smith. Smith just can't hit him as hard as he needs to now to keep him down."
(The referee starts his count again. 1…2… Smith crawls towards the ropes and starts to stand back up again. 3…4…5… Christianson rolls onto his side and sits up partway. Smith reaches his feet and hobbles over to Christianson. 6… Smith doesn't bother waiting. He grabs Christianson, picks him up and whips him hard into the near corner. Christianson rebounds out and Smith drops him with a clothesline. Instead of waiting for the referee to start counting, Smith picks up Christianson and pulls him over to the table inside the ring. He lifts Christianson up and rolls him onto the table and then makes his way over to the corner. He starts climbing the ropes.)
HS: "Smith is going up top… we don't see this too often."
FJ: "He's taking a long time though Herb… He may not have much to do once he gets up there, if Christianson recovers before he's ready."
(Smith makes his way up to the top rope and starts to turn around. Christianson suddenly rolls off the table and runs into the ropes. Smith loses his balance and crotches himself in the corner. There is a collective "Oh" from the crowd. Christianson rests against the ropes for several moments then moves over to the ropes and climbs onto the bottom turnbuckle. He grabs hold of Smith and sets up for a suplex. Christianson manages to power Smith up and drops him through the table with a brain buster suplex.)
FJ: "Christianson just made Smith Drop Dead!"
HS: "That could be enough to end this match."
(Christianson and Smith both lie there in the ruins of the table as the referee counts. 1…2…3…4…5… Christianson sits up and looks around. He shakes to cobwebs out and starts to stand up. 6…The crowd suddenly starts to cheer as Smith starts to sit up as well. Christianson turns around and can't believe it. 7… 8… Smith rolls over and starts climbing up. 9… Smith reaches his feet and the crowd cheers wildly. Christianson wastes no time as he climbs the ropes and perches on the top rope. Smith turns around to face him and Christianson connects with a missile drop kick that almost knocks Smith to another corner of the ring. Christianson is up quickly and heads over to Smith. He grabs hold of him and drags him out towards the middle of the ring. Christianson moves back to the corner quickly and climbs to the top rope again. Christianson looks down at Smith on the mat and then raises one hand high into the air. He leaps off with a frog splash but gets nothing but mat as Smith rolls aside and avoids contact. Christianson rolls around on the mat holding his midsection as Smith lies on the mat catching his breath, which leads to another count from the referee. 1…2…3…4…5… Both men stir and move up onto their hands and knees. 6…7… Both men reach a kneeling position. 8…9… Both of them get back up and they start trading punches in the middle of the ring.)
HS: "This is incredible neither one of them want to give this one up. They just keep going back and forth!"
FJ: "I can't believe that Smith is still going."
(They keep trading punches until Smith finally grabs the upper hand. He lands a couple of stiff punches and then whips Christianson into the ropes. Christianson comes back and Smith lifts him up into a military press, but quickly drops him to the mat. Smith runs to the ropes as best he can, then comes back and splashes Christianson.)
HS: "The Big Apple Asskicker!"
FJ: "It won't be enough to kick Christianson down. I know it!"
(Smith gets back up as the crowd continues cheering loudly for him. The referee starts a count on Christianson as Smith looks around the ring seeing the debris everywhere from their battle. But when he looks outside of the ring he sees something that is still intact.)
HS: "Smith seems to have caught sight of those two tables Christianson set up earlier…"
FJ: "No… he wouldn't."
(Smith reaches down and grabs hold of Christianson breaking the referee's count at 5. He pulls Christianson over to the ropes and sets him up for a power bomb.)
FJ: "He wouldn't!!"
HS: "I think he would!"
(Smith grabs hold of Christianson and lifts him up. He turns, keeping as much of the weight on his right leg as he can and practically throws Christianson over the top rope, letting him drop through the two tables on the outside and crash to the floor. The crowd starts chanting "HOLY SHIT!" over and over again. Smith rests against the top rope and looks down at Christianson lying in the remains of the two tables on the floor as the referee begins his count. The crowd counts along with him. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10! The referee calls for the bell and then reaches over to Smith and raises his arm in victory.)
HS: "A.C. Smith has done it! He took the veteran to his limit and is the Last Man Standing at Vortex!"
FJ: "Oh this is such a dark day for the AWA… To think that A.C. Smith has retained his title again… When will this horror stop?!"
(The referee gets Smith's belt from outside and gives it back to the champion. Smith raises the belt over his head as the crowd cheers loudly. He climbs out of the ring and makes his way back up towards the stage as EMT's come down to check on Christianson, who's still out cold at ringside.)
(We cut to a build-up video for the main event of the evening. Upon completion, Hail to the Chief plays as we see Gray come out of the "O" Tunnel with a microphone in his right hand and an envelope in his left.)
GRAY: "For our ninth and final match of the evening will be for the AWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! Nathan Hawthorne-Lee will defend his title against the Hell Bowl winner of 2007, Gabriel!"
(Gray opens up the envelope and reads the contents.)
GRAY: "In third place with the least amount of votes is a Street Fight. In second place we have a Buried Alive match. So the match you will view tonight and the one voted on by you will be Crucifix match, a first ever in the AWA!"
(Hail to the Chief plays and we see Gray exit through the "O" Tunnel.)
HS: "Before we get this match started, I do want to go over the rules to this match. As we can see, there are two solid steel posts attached to opposite corners of the ring. We can also see that they extend about 4 feet above the top of the ring posts."
FJ: "The best part is that there are two chains attached to the posts. At the end of the chains are old school shackles. They are adjustable in terms of size and tightness. Once tightening stops, there's a device in them that will release the cuff after a minute. Think of it as a coil. Once the other cuff is done tightening, it'll stop BOTH of the coils from going and keep both tightened. The loser is then raised up into the air and hence is crucified."
HS: "Once you get the cuffs locked in place, you must drop the weights from the other two corners that do not have the posts. When their feet are off the ground, hanging above the ring, the match is over."
(The lights go out in the arena, leaving it in complete and utter darkness. After a few moments of silence and darkness, a bright shining light ruptures from the Ameritron, causing many to squint and turn away upon its arrival. It fades away as a bell is heard twice and the hard chords of "For Whom The Bell Tolls" begin. The bell continues to ring through every sequence of chords as smoke pours out from above the stage and entrance ramp. We see two figures in white now. One is a giant shining white cross on the Ameritron and the other is a slowly moving figure. The figure comes out of the "O" tunnel in "VORTEX" and moves through the smoke at a steady pace, yet he only appears to be a man made of light as the smoke is dampening our vision of the entire area around him. As the chords change to a heavier tone, Gabriel steps through the smoke like a beacon of light to the arena, his white robes shining in the lack of light, just like the cross behind him. He holds a giant white bible at his side that glows as well as he stands before the ring for a few moments, looking to his right and slowly turning his head to his left.)
HS: "Gabriel is coming to the ring as the Hell Bowl winner of 2007. Tonight he will wrestle in a match that is his choice, his pick, his creation. Of those three, the fans wanted to see this unique match in play."
FJ: "Either that or they wanted to see someone get crucified. I hope it isn't Gabriel! WHERE'S MY POPE HAT!"
HS: "Oh no..."
(Frank puts his Pope hat on.)
FJ: "Much better. GO GABRIEL!"
(The chords become even heavier as Gabriel now heads up the ring steps and steps through the ropes into the ring. He reaches the center and a single white strobe light shines down from the heavens onto him as he slowly raises the bible high above his head with both hands. The lights in the arena come back on when the bible reaches the pinnacle of its ascent and Gabriel lowers it afterwards. He walks over to his corner and places his white robes and bible on the outside, then turns his attention to the ring. Green, blue, red, and white lights flash as we hear the opening intro of "True Nature" by Jane's Addiction. After the 10 second intro stops and we hear "Here we go" and we see NHL emerge through the "O" tunnel in "VORTEX", as the heavy part of the song plays, with the AWA World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. Nathan stands at the base of the ramp for a few seconds and looks down at the ramp, towards the ring, with a focused look in his face. NHL begins to move down the ramp after standing there for about 15 seconds. As he walks towards the ring, his focus and intensity is emanating from him as the fans around him cheer his name and scream for his victory.)
HS: "The AWA World Heavyweight Champion won his first title at this event last year. He took the title from Brian Stevens who won tonight in his tag team match with Onslaught against The Faction's Jai Williams and Malakai."
FJ: "Mmhmm. I think NHL's luck will run out tonight. He won his 2005 and 2006 Vortex matches. I sit here and I look at Gabriel and I look at Nathan and I think to myself that these two will fight this match, but in the end, Gabriel has the size advantage and I think he'll be the more natural winner here tonight."
HS: "Well you can say that all you want, but with the recent losses by Gabriel and the wins by Nathan Hawthorne-Lee, I have a feeling that it'll be close, but NHL will retain his title, extending his title reign past 70 days."
(NHL walks around ringside and up the ring steps by the time keeper and pauses before entering the ring. He bows his head and closes his eyes for about 5 seconds before climbing into the ring and heading to the opposite turnbuckle. Nathan unsnaps his AWA World Heavyweight Championship and raises both arms into the air with the right arm holding his World Title belt. He hops down and heads to the adjacent corner and hops onto the second turnbuckle and raises his titles into the air and then lowers his left hand leaving his right arm in the air, showing off the World Heavyweight Championship to the fans before hopping down. The senior referee, Chuck Ford, takes the World Heavyweight Championship and shows it to Gabriel and then raises it into the air. Chuck takes it and hands it to ring announcer Nick Edwards before going over the rules of the match with Gabriel and NHL.)
HS: "You can just feel the tension in this arena start to build up. Sooner or later, these two guys will just unleash their game plans and we will see a classic in the making."
FJ: "As long as Pope Frank Jackson I is still sitting here when it's over and done with amd we have a new champion, I won't mind what happens."
(The referee calls for the bell and the match is now officially started. NHL and Gabriel lock up in the collar and elbow and NHL immediately powers through it and whips Gabriel into the ropes. Gabriel reverses it and NHL hits the ropes. He jumps back into Gabriel with a flying forearm right into the head of the challenger. NHL grapples Gabriel and hits a gutbuster. NHL then runs to the 2nd turnbuckle, jumps up to it, and then leaps off performaning a moonsault and connecting on Gabriel. NHL then starts to hit Gabriel with a series of rights and lefts and then gets off him. Nathan walks over to one of the corners with the chains and grabs one and brings it over to Gabriel.)
HS: "And NHL decides to get started early."
FJ: "HA!"
(As NHL is walking over, the loses slack in the line and is just a foot away from Gabriel. NHL picks Gabriel up and whips him into the corner turnbuckle where he pulled the chain from. He picks up the chain and then runs towards Gabriel and hits a spear. NHL takes Gabriel's left hand and clasps the cuff in place and tightens it. Gabriel then catches Nathan off guard and hits him with some rights and lefts and then wraps the chain around NHL's neck, trying to choke him out. Gabriel then leaves the corner and grabs NHL by the throat and chokeslams him to the mat, with the chain still around his neck.)
HS: "I think the last time we saw Nathan with a chain around his neck, or some variation of it, was that brutal Classic Dog Collar match."
FJ: "I think that match will be a good contender for Match of the Year unless we see a performance after then that'll put it to shame. From where I sit, I don't see any that I can think of that'll beat that Dog Collar match."
HS: "And it's been 60 seconds and that cuff's coil should unlock the cuff now."
(And indeed it does. Gabriel slips the cuff off his left hand and locks it onto NHL's right hand and tightens it into place. He unravels the chain from Nathan's neck and picks him up to his feet. Gabriel whips NHL into the ropes and NHL bounces off the one rope and then falls flat to his back as the chain tightens and yanks NHL to the mat. NHL grabs a hold of his right shoulder.)
FJ: "And it appears that Gabriel has injured the 'SlapShot shoulder' of the AWA Champion. Without that shoulder being at 100%, it'll be hard for him to use the SlapShot as he likes to tuck the head under the right arm and not the left."
HS: "I would agree that using the SlapShot would greatly improve NHL's chances of winning this contest, however it's not a match that could be won via pinfall. It's not one he can win via submission. He needs to cuff Gabriel to both posts to win this."
FJ: "But you have to agree with me that with that shoulder receiving a possible injury here it could diminish his chances to win."
HS: "I won't doubt it."
FJ: "That's all I was looking for."
(NHL gets to his feet and shakes off the pain in his shoulder. Gabriel walks up and ties up in a collar and elbow, but NHL knees Gabriel in the gut and hits a DDT. NHL then wraps his right hand in some of the chain and clocks Gabriel in the head twice before getting up and shaking off the chain. NHL looks over at the opposite corner and eyes up the other chain. He then looks down at his right writst and unfastens the cuff after its 60 second limit is expired. NHL leaves the ring and pulls a chair from under the ring. He slides it under the ropes and follows it inside.)
FJ: "Now what's he doing? There aren't any chairs allowed!"
HS: "I guess we'll have to wait and see."
(NHL pops the chair open and puts the boots to Gabriel. NHL then runs at the chair, jumps off it, catches the top rope, and moonsaults backwards into Gabriel, who is on his feet, and connects. NHL rolls out of the ring and drags Gabriel with him. With Gabriel out of the ring, NHL whips Gabriel into the guard rail, but Gabriel reverses and sends the World Champion into the steel barrier. NHL slumps down from the pain, but Gabriel walks over and grabs a hold of NHL and helps him down the side of the entrance ramp. Gabriel cracks NHL's head off the side of the ramp and then off the crowd barrier behind them. Gabriel continues to help NHL over to where the mound of dirt is that would have housed the buried alive match.)
FJ: "It seems that Nathan will get his pathetic stipulation after all."
HS: "At least part of it. And would you take that hat off? It's embarrassing and insulting."
FJ: "Let me think about that for a second."
HS: "And?"
FJ: "I'm still thinking."
HS: "It's been over a second."
FJ: "Your point?"
(Gabriel grapples NHL and suplexes him onto the concrete floor next to the dirt pile. Gabriel grabs NHL and pushes him into the dirt and then drags him up to the top. At the top, Gabriel and NHL lock up in a collar and elbow tie up. Gabriel starts to push NHL down the edge of the hill, but then NHL powers back, pulling some energy from a reserve. NHL forces Gabriel to the edge of the grave, but Gabriel powers back and powers through the hold, nailing a DDT onto the grassy area. Gabriel gets up and eyes up the grave, but then he glances a look towards the ring. Gabriel goes down to pick up NHL, and gets a *CRACK!* in the head!)
HS: "NHL hit Gabriel in the head with that shovel!"
FJ: "That's unfair! It's not even the right match stipulation!"
HS: "A few minutes ago you were completely happy with it. What changed? Gabriel lost some momentum?"
FJ: "Stop lying!"
(Gabriel's teetering on the edge of the grave and NHL gets up to his feet and then swings the shovel again, snapping the arm in half, knocking Gabriel into the grave. NHL tosses some dirt onto Gabriel with his boots and raises his arms as if to signify victory.)
FJ: "What an idiot! Those head shots he got on his way to the dirt pile must have knocked a few screws loose. It's not a buried alive match!"
HS: "I think what NHL's doing is signifying is that he can, in fact, defeat Gabriel in a buried alive match. That would be my educated guess."
FJ: "Educated? Like second grade stuff because that's the level I think you're thinking on."
HS: "Frank, stop insulting me for your own personal setbacks."
FJ: "I PASSED SECOND GRADE! That F I got was a cruel act by my second grade teacher!"
HS: "No one's calling you a liar."
FJ: "Oh...right..."
HS: "So you didn't-"
FJ: "No, I didn't."
HS: "So what happened?"
FJ: "Good tutors."
HS: "I see."
(NHL hops into the grave and picks Gabriel up to his feet. NHL then lifts Gabriel into the air in a military press!!)
FJ: "Look at that! Think of the weight!"
HS: "Amazing show of power! Absolutely amazing!"
(NHL is able to get Gabriel over the threshold of the grave and toss him over it. Gabriel rolls down the side of the mound and to the concrete floor below, covered in dirt and mud. NHL pulls himself out of the grave and hops down to the dirt hill to the floor. NHL brushes off some of the dirt and picks Gabriel up to his feet. NHL grapples Gabriel from behind and hits a German suplex. NHL keeps the hold and hits a releasing German suplex. He walks over to Gabriel and picks him up to his feet. NHL proceeds to escort Gabriel towards the ring. Just as they hit the black mats of ringside, Gabriel elbows NHL in the side. NHL starts to grab his side, but Gabriel does it again and then hits NHL with a left hand. NHL staggers backwards but Gabriel continues with his left hands and then follows up with a right, knocking NHL to his back.)
FJ: "Now what do you think of your savior?"
HS: "So far, I think the match is going well for both men. Both competitors have a good and equal claim to the title at this point in time."
FJ: "Basically Gabriel wins."
HS: "I didn't say that."
(Gabriel grabs Nathan by his ankles and slingshots him into the weight hanging from one of the "shorter" ring posts. Gabriel brushes some of the dirt off himself and picks NHL up almost effortlessly and rolls him into the ring. Gabriel follows the champion into the ring and picks up a cuff and tightens it on NHL's left wrist. Gabriel picks up NHL and grapples him from the side and nails a sidewalk slam ala Big Bossman. Gabriel walks over and grabs the other cuff resting a few feet away.)
FJ: "And he's going to put it away now! CUFF HIM! CRUCIFY HIM!"
(Gabriel grabs the shackle and is about to cuff NHL when he grabs Gabriel's arm and then knees Gabriel in the head by rolling almost onto his shoulders to do it. Gabriel loses grip of the cuff and then NHL gets it and cuffs Gabriel's left hand to the chain. NHL rolls to his feet and tries to get closer to Gabriel, but he's limited by the chain's length - so he starts to stomp the challenger. Gabriel rolls away from it and gets to his feet, but realizes that he's shackled to the chain and steps backwards. NHL tries to advance, but he's stuck to the pole by the cuff and chain. Gabriel grins and leans up against the corner turnbuckle. NHL is now looking at his left wrist, waiting for the tension to end.)
HS: "It looks like we're in a stalemate."
FJ: "An interesting one at that as well."
(NHL looks down at his wrist and drops it to his side. As he does it, the cuff slides off and hits the mat. Gabriel tenses up, but NHL just stands there waiting for him. The camera gets a good shot of Gabriel's left wrist and we see the shackle pop open and Gabriel quickly removes it from his arm. He charges at the Champion and NHL charges at the challenger. They tie up in the collar and elbow and fight around the ring to see which one of them can get the upper hand. NHL shoves Gabriel into the corner turnbuckles and breaks through the grapple they once shared and nails him with an implant DDT. NHL then jumps up to the second turnbuckle, leaps up to the third only to execute a split-legged moonsault on Gabriel.)
HS: "And it seems that our AWA World Heavyweight Champion is beginning to go down an unorthodox path here trying to confuse any strategy Gabriel had."
FJ: "So the predictability of our 'savior' has diminished? I wonder if he's as focused as he says he is."
(Gabriel gets to his feet, but NHL knocks him down with a standing drop kick. NHL picks Gabriel up to his feet and whips him into one of the corner turnbuckles that have the chains, but Gabriel reverses, holds onto NHL's arm, and hits a nasty and powerful clothesline. Gabriel grabs NHL by the head, puts it between his legs, and executes a powerbomb. Gabriel drags NHL's body to the nearest chained handcuff and cuffs him in. Gabriel grabs NHL by his feet and drags him to the center of the ring. He drops the legs and grabs a cuff. He picks Nathan up to his feet and hits a DDT. Gabriel picks NHL up to his feet again and grabs NHL by the opposite wrist.)
FJ: "YES! WE'RE GOING TO GET A NEW WORLD CHAMPION!"
(Gabriel slips the cuff around NHL's wrist and tightens it in place. Gabriel releases his hold and throws his arms up into the air!)
FJ: "NEW CHAMPION! NEW CHAMPION! GABRIEL HAS JUST DEFEATED NATHAN HAWTHORNE-LEE!"
HS: "OH MY GOD!"
(As Gabriel turns around to look into NHL's defeated eyes, NHL pops a right hand into Gabriel's face!)
HS: "NATHAN'S HAND WAS FREE!"
FJ: "Gabriel took too long? DAMMIT!"
(NHL kicks Gabriel in the gut and raises him up into the air.)
HS: "SLAPSHOT!"
(NHL drives Gabriel's head down to the ring with his special brainbuster DDT finishing maneuver, however upon completion, NHL just stays down on the mats.)
FJ: "What's he doing?"
HS: "Probably taking a breather maybe."
(We can see that the cuff on NHL's left hand has released its tensioned grip. NHL takes the cuff off his wrist and rolls over and tries his best to get the cuff positioned onto Gabriel's wrist. NHL then grabs the other cuff and brings Gabriel to his feet, however Gabriel starts to fight back and Nathan didn't get the chance to tighten the one cuff yet either. NHL pushes Gabriel into the ropes, the cuff slides off his wrist, and NHL catches Gabriel with a drop toe hold. NHL then puts on the Penalty. Gabriel's trying to find his way around the ring so he could get a clean rope break, but is stuck in the middle.)
FJ: "A submission won't get him anywhere. He's just wasting his time."
HS: "Not unless he wants to slow him down."
(NHL breaks the hold only after a minute of Gabriel writhing in pain after having his back folded in the wrong direction. NHL brings Gabriel up to his feet and grapples him from behind and prepares for a northern lights suplex, however Gabriel reverses the move and knocks NHL to the ground. Gabriel then gets the STO locked in and now it's Nathan's turn to writhe in pain. NHL reaches the ropes but doesn't try to grab them.)
FJ: "What is he an idiot? GRAB THE ROPE!"
HS: "No rope breaks."
FJ: "Boy I'm a real idiot now."
HS: "No..."
(With Gabriel's body down on the mat, NHL again takes a cuff and slides it onto Gabriel's left wrist. NHL picks Gabriel up to his feet and kicks him in the gut. Nathan reaches down and picks up the other cuff and hits Gabriel then with a spinning wheel kick. Gabriel teeters, but doesn't fall down, so NHL jumps up and is able to slide the other shackle down Gabriel's right hand. NHL holds onto that right arm and, against all of Gabriel's struggling, tightens that right cuff.)
FJ: "He did it!"
HS: "No Frank, he still needs to tighten that left handcuff."
FJ: "Come on! Get out of there!"
(Gabriel is fighting to get that left cuff off his wrist, but with the limited movement by his right arm, it's not going so well. NHL knees Gabriel in the gut and tries to tighten it.)
FJ: "About thirty seconds left! COME ON!"
(Gabriel stands up straight and NHL starts to hammer some left jabs into Gabe's face. Gabriel staggers a bit, but then is met by a super kick by NHL.)
FJ: "PEACEMAKER!"
HS: "Or the Thunder Strike."
FJ: "So what."
(NHL is able to get that left cuff tightened and then we hear a sound from the PA system.)
FJ: "Sirens? What's that for?"
(We watch as the weights begin to drop and the chains are tightening and retracting from the force of the weights being dropped. Gabriel, somewhat unaware of what's going on, is starting to lift off the ground. The sirens stop and the weights are done moving and are securely on the mats. Gabriel is hanging, Christ-like, from the chains in a mock crucifixion.)
HS: "I don't know when the last time a public crucifixion was witnessed, but I'm sure the Romans might like our way of doing it."
FJ: "What a great show that Rome is on HBO."
(The bell sounds and then the referee raises NHL's right arm into the air. Gabriel comes to and sees what's going on. He's struggling to free himself, but it won't work as those chains are completely tightened.)
HS: "NHL and Gabriel have gone to some interesting lengths to ensure victory, but it appears that tonight wasn't the night for God's Messenger. I wonder if this would prove Nathan right about Gabriel not really listening to God?"
FJ: "Of course not!"
HS: "So you think that God was lying to Gabriel when he said that Gabriel would win tonight?"
FJ: "Well, no he wasn't, but I'm sure that there's a good explanation around it though."
HS: "I'm sure there is. From everyone here in the AWA, I would like to thank you for purchasing this event and we hope it lived up to your expectations. For Frank Jackson I'm Herb Summers saying good night."
(NHL has his AWA World Heavyweight Championship in his hand and he's raising it into the air to the fans while standing on the second turnbuckle in the right corner if looking from the view of Gabriel. We see Gabriel looking on with eyes full of scorn as the scene fades out.)
