AWA Wrestlefest VII, Sunday, December 18, 2005; Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY
(The screen goes black. The AWA logo appears on the screen. We then peer into the events of OverPower. The show is an utter disaster, and the weeks leading up to it, we see Travis Gray pacing his office, watching the shows, and throwing his arms into the air. He walks over to his desk and picks up his phone. He dials a few numbers.)
(We then view a press conference. An unknown voice begins to narrate this tale.)
VOICE: "The AWA has been sold. Last Man Standing is now officially canceled. The AWA is closed for business. Keiko Ono is the new owner of the AWA, and she will now destroy the legacy of our home."
(The screen changes and we see that Keiko Ono has agreed to do Last Man Standing. She will try to make as much money from this event as possible, but there's a catch now.)
VOICE: "But, all of that has changed. The power that Keiko Ono thought she had actually belonged to Whisper and Low. They both purchased the AWA Stock at the same time, while Keiko Ono just bought the smaller shares from their respective share holders. Low and Whisper now have 48% of the company each and ono is stuck with a lame 2%. Foreigners can never get it done in the AWA, nor can they do it in."
(Low and Whisper start to form troops that will battle this war. On Low's side, the Pro-AWA contigent, we start to see the faces of John Williams, Brian Williams, John Rourke, Quade deSade, Cynder, Andreas Lasiewicz, the Returning Family members, Ray Owens, Johnny Lightning, and Steven Striker, the Fish, and the Returning BlackJack. On Whisper's Anti-AWA contigent we sees flashes of the returning Jayson "Mistery" Price, the Canucks' Terry James and X-treme Jeff, Dustin Dread, "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson, Damage, Inc.'s Nathaniel Henry Lee and Brian Stevens, and the Returning Lars Fredrickson.)
VOICE: "In the waning weeks, Low and Whisper removed themselves from their on screen quarrel and worked diligently behind the scenes to make sure their respective sides would win. As the weeks drew nearer to the power match between Low and Whisper for Keiko Ono's 2% of the company, tensions grew. The Anti-AWA team seems to be getting frustrated without the supposed "guidance" from their leader, Whisper. So, a small group of guys took it upon themselves to make sure that they would lead their team into this fight. These self appointed Generals would make sure that their interests outweighed Whispers and that their struggle for power would result in the end of the AWA."
(The scene shows now pictures of Damage, Inc. and Lars Fredrickson engaging in countless attacks against their unsuspecting opposers. The new Generals in this war were now waging it on the outside. Low and Whisper were now just memories as the Anti-AWA faction grew in power. The Anti-AWA faction would support Whisper's goals, but not the man himself. The AWA Will die, they said.)
VOICE: "In these troubling hours, the Pro-AWA side would indeed show their true colors...red. They would proclaim that they indeed bleed AWA and they will not succumb to these attacks by the Anti-AWA side. John Williams and the Family will now counterbalance Damage, Inc. and Lars Fredrickson by beating them at their own game. The Anti-AWA side rose up, proclaiming that they have the power of appointment, and Travis Gray made matches that would test the sides each wrestler supposedly fights for. These matches would be wrestled in the heart of the AWA, in the heart of where it all began, in the heart that bleeds...AWA!"
(The screen changes now and the Wrestlefest VII logo appears on the screen. Mountain Dew bottles fly around the screen as it now changes to the main stage. A very large and powerful pyro display is now shown on the stage in Madison Square Garden, deep in the heart of New York City. The cameras start to pan the crowd, and then they move to Frank Jackson and Herb Summers, sitting ringside.)
HS: "The mood is somber, but exciting. The crowd is quiet but bursting screams of joy. The AWA is here at Madison Square Garden and we are here for the seventh annual Wrestlefest! Hello everyone and thanks for choosing the AWA tonight! I am Herb Summers..."
FJ: "...and I'm Frank Jackson! Tonight, our show will feature title defenses, and crazily enough, number one contender matches. The show will be a normal show, but with that familiar Pro vs Anti struggle from the previous weeks."
HS: "That's right. Tonight, Winter Santiaga and Mason Storm will fight for the right to challenge the No Limits Champion for that title after Wrestlefest. Nicholas Pride will also challenge Chaos Stryke in a hardcore style match that will pit the winner against the United States Champion in a later show."
FJ: "And, not only that, but Snake and Brian Williams are teaming up...who the hell would have ever thought that would happen. They will take on Dustin Dread and Misery! Misery's back!!! But, not only that, but Mickey Showery has returned as well!!! And he takes on Quade deSade for the No Limits Championship!"
HS: "It's as if everyone from the past has returned to give one last match for the AWA! The Canucks, now Anti-AWA, put their AWA Tag Team Championships on the line against the newly reformed Aquatic Aces and Andreas Lasiewicz and Cynder."
FJ: "And, for the first time in AWA history, we have a Steel Cage Survival match. Well, it's the Family's Steel Cage Survival match. The newly returned Family will try to put a cork in the mouthes of Damage, Inc. and Lars Fredrickson! But, we can always call this Eastside vs. Westside."
HS: "The AWA Heavyweight title will be decided in classic Triple Threat rules as John Williams defends the title against Jeff Christianson and John Rourke. And in the most important main event ever created, Low and Whisper will battle for total control over the AWA. This outcome will determine whether the AWA returns from its annual Holiday break or not."
FJ: "Pivotal, I must say."
(The venue shows Mason Storm who is already in-ring waiting for his opponent to make her entrance. She doesn't disspoint. The sound of "Stand Up,” performed by T.I. featuring Lil’ Jon, Trick Daddy, and Lil’ Wayne, begins to play in the speakers throughout the arena. At the first sound of the beat all the lights are extinguished, to be replaced by a single purple spotlight. Standing in the light is Winter. She walks seductively toward the ring, her hips swaying to the hard hip-hop beat, amid the chorus of boos from her many ‘fans.’ She climbs the ropes and positions herself in the center of the ring, her right hand on her hip and a sly grin on her face.)
(She spares a second or two of the rye smile for Mason Storm who seems to just stand there glued to the spot as Storm goes through routine. Santiaga is coachhed down to the mat by the referee and the lights go back as the ref brings both would-be title contenders to the center of the riing for the usual pre-match formalities, and the sends them to their corners before calling for the bell to start the match.)
(Both Mason and Santiaga move sharply from their posts towards each other, but no lock as Mson hits the gas and charges full on at Winter who drops to a knee as a Clothesaline sweep overhead. Carried to the ropes Mason comes back in to Winter who had followed part way and know locks in a Full Nelson hold which startles Mason who yelps as Winter carries him up the down in a Suplex from that hold. Winter rolls clear not wasting anytime and grabs Mason right leg and is going for an obvious Sharpshooter early in this match and again Mason screams out looking for an 'out' and spots one as he scarmbels fist over claw across the mat to the bott6om rope while Storm fights pull and is ultimately called off by the referee.)
(No sooner has Winter releasd the hold thean Mason Storm pulls hismelf clera of the ring under the bottom rope. Winter takes the fight outsxide of the riing with Springboard Moonsault Splash. The crowd gtoes ballistic at the display of abandon by Winter Santiaga and revels in the agony Mason Storm as he trie to get clear only to be brought to his feet and before she is Bull Rushed into the aprton by Mason who catches her, rol,ls her into the ring as the pain in her lower back has incapacitated. Mason gathers up Stiorm but she is dropped again by a Gutwrench Suplex, but Mason has not finished as he takes her left hand twistingit into a Wristlock. The shap joint pain brings Winter back from her reverie. Mason folowes through to a an Armbar. Picking Winter up to her feet Mason twist her arm around her abck tighter andf teases her with a few wet blown kisses milking the crowd with his psudo-amorous attentions towards Winter Santiaga before hoisting her in a Release German Suplex catching even ten fans by surprise. Mason gets to his feet, looking down at Winter he obviously looks plaesed with himself and his actions as he tours the ropes egging the fans while dissing Winter.)
(Behind Mason his opponent is back to her own feet watching Mson's antics. She charges Mason with a Dropkick To The his Knee. Mason goes down sharply but maintains a vertical base with knee but his lower profile only invites a solid Dropped Elbow to Winter who barely move clear. As Mason rises Winter leaps, sending him to the ropes him with a Flying Head Scissors.
Mason tries uswing the ropes to regain that vertical base again while Winter comes in behind and snakes in a 3/4 Face Lock. Realising the danger Mason panics and wraps his arm around the top ropes denying The Coldest Winter Ever. But, Santiaga is not for giving up and she tries to pull Mason Storm clear but loosing the tug of war Winter santiaga is sent over the top rope to the mats for her trouble. Seeing the opportunity Mason rolls Winter back into the ring taking time to send her along with a couple of clubing blows for company before climbing the turnbuckle.)
(From his position above the ring Mason is unable to stop himself taking another moment to work the crowd before launching himself into a 360 Splash. Winter raises her knees to cover herself just in time as Mason impacts. The reaction from the cowd punctuates the cry of pain from Mason as he crumples to the mat. It takes a count of 'three!' from the referee before either wrestkler moves; Winter setting herself up in the same corner Mason fell from watches as Mason kneels cradling his abdomen. She suddenly delivers a Big Boot to the side of his head rocking him hard. An Enziguri is swiftly followed on by a Springboard Dropkick laying Mason Storm out but Winter goes for no pin attempt and instead she pulls him into a sitting position for a Crossface Hold. Mason denies her the submission so Winter quickly tires of the contest shifting her hold on Mason to a Bearhug which she uses to bring Mason to his feet. Again Mason denies her the submission but it soon becomes clear this was only a transision move by Winter whoi hoist Mason Storm into a German Suplex.)
(There is still life in Mason who is already getting to his knees but the look on his face shows that the beating has weathered him some. Meanwhile Storm has gone up top herself and is stalking Mason from the corner post. Obviously dazed as Storm staggers on two weakened legs only to turn into Storm as she comes Off of The Top Rope with a Hurricanrana;
Seeming to have been playing possum he catches the leap, fliping Winter into a Facebuster it's impact is fed by Winter's own momentum. Mason drops to his own knees showing that the effort was obviously a desperatiopn move on his part.)
(Both Winter and Mason get to their feet but it becomes clear that Winter is the fresher of the two as she dodges first one clothesline from Mason who hits the ropes rebounding with a second attempt which Winter has scouted. Locking in Masons arm she jerks him from his feet into Pumphandle Slam. Again Storm goes up high and takes flight from the post in another 'Blizzard.' Mason is blindsided by Santiaga this time around and the Top Rope Hurricanrana slams him across the mat where Winter Santiaga moves in for the pin. The ref comes in for the count and Mason is out cold as count is called out '1...! 2...! 3...!')
(Winter leaps from the mat before the ref can raise her hand as it dawns on her that she has just powered her way to her first title challenge in the AWA; The No Limits Championship, and its current holder Quade deSade.)
HS: "What a win by Winter Santiaga!"
(We then show a commercial for AWA OverPower, available right now on DVD!)
*****MATCH SUMMARY FOR NICHOLAS PRIDE VS CHAOS STRYKE*****
Nicholas Pride and Chaos Stryke face off in the ring. After a brutal hardcore match, Chaos Stryke comes out to be the winner, and winning a shot at the United States Champion, Cynder.
(Logan rolls out of the ring and grabs hold of a chair from the floor.)
FJ: "From the looks of it I’d say Logan isn’t done yet. I think we’ll really get our money’s worth for this feud."
(He slides back into the ring before delivering a solid chair shot to the right leg of Nicholas Pride, and followed it up by driving the edge of the chair into Nicholas’ right knee.)
HS: "There’s no reason for this. The match is over."
FJ: "Quiet Herb! Just let me sit back and enjoy the carnage."
(He throws down the chair and drags Nicholas towards one corner of the ring. He slides out under the bottom rope and pulls Nicholas right up to the ring post. Logan takes hold of Nicholas’ right leg and then slams his knee across the ring post then took both of Nicholas’ legs and crossed them over into the shape of a four. He put one leg up on them, dropped backwards to the floor and put his other leg in position locking in a ring post figure four.)
HS: "A figure four leg lock on the ring post! What a devastating manuever!"
FJ: "Break his leg! Break his leg!"
(The referee quickly climbed out of the ring and began trying to get Logan to break the hold, as Nicholas thrashed around inside the ring. Logan held the move for half a minute before finally letting go. He walked to the side of the ring and began mouthing off to Nicholas, before turning around and walking back up the entrance ramp.)
HS: "I think it’s obvious that Nicholas Pride is going to need some help getting to the back after this one. What a shift in the personality of Logan Alexander."
FJ: "He’s ruthless and destructive… I love it!! If he keeps this up, he’ll definitely become one of my favourite wrestlers."
(An advertisement for the Next Possible PPV, Hell on Earth, is displayed, but there's a HUGE ???? Displayed over the final seconds of the advertisement.)
HS: "Strange night thus far. We have crowned two new Number One Contenders for our two singles titles. Winter Santiaga will take on the No Limits Champion after Wrestlefest and Chaos Stryke will take on Cynder, the United States Champion."
FJ: "And it's going to get even more interesting now."
(The Omen by DMX blares over the PA and this huge man begins to walk down the aisle. He walks slowly, giving a suspicious look to everyone in the crowd, as if he thinks they are speculating things about him. He grabs the top rope once he reaches the ring and pulls himself up on the apron. He immediately steps into the ring and prepares to handle his business.)
HS: "Well, Dustin Dread looks like he is ready to create Chaos like always, but this might be a little different, as the two men that he will be in the ring against are two of the most heinous and vial men to ever step into an AWA ring."
FJ: "Yeah, and add to that Dread's partner in this one and you have yourself one great big mean ugly ball of hate ready to explode and kill anyone in its path."
HS: "Yes, it actually kind of makes me glad we are over here away from the action."
(Dreads music fades out and moments later "Where Do You Draw The Line" by From Autumn To Ashes kicks in, and the crowd breaks into an even greater chorus of boos. Price steps out into sight and looks around almost laughing at the response from the capacity crowd as he makes his way to the ring. Once he enters the ring he moves right passed Dread who looks on without much care. Price says a few words to Annette as his music continues.)
HS: "Well, it sure has been a while since we have been foced to deal with this jaded fellow, and now he is back trying to be one of the deciding factors in the closing of the AWA, if he did not have enough enemies before, he certainly does now!"
FJ: "Yeah, and I am sure he would not have it any other way, he just wants the rest of the world to suffer like he has been forced to."
(The music once again fades as Price still ignoring Dread focuses on the entrance way. Then suddenly The soft intro of "Digging up the corpses" hits the PA system and when the lead singer screams "Tell me another story" A massive fall of fire errupts from the stage and the six foot six monster walks through the curtain flanked by his sister Maria "Violent Harmony" Inganno dressed in the most beautiful black silk dress. Deep within the black mask those eyes once so bright green now looked black and hatefilled stared up at the ring. Jumping to the apron he place a leg over the ropes then another and started toward the center of the ring where he stares down Price then backs into the corner.)
HS: "This month has been full of surprises, who would have thought that this man would ever be back in the AWA after what happened with him and NHL."
FJ: "Well it definately came as a shock to me. But what may be even more shocking is to see Snake and his tag team partner try and work together here tonight."
HS: "Yes, there is quite the history between these two, last time the entered the same ring they were intent on killing each other. Lets just hope for the sake of the AWA they will be able to work some what cohesively."
(Snakes music fades and the arena is in a buzz for a moment of two before The lights go out. As the ominous opening chords begin to build, after a long pause, a single deep bluelight falls on the ramp way. Smoke billows from the entrance creating an ominous haze, from within the haze we see the seven monster's silhouette as he pauses, The dense mist follows Williams all the way to the ring until he steps over the top rope and stares down not only his two opponents, but his tag team partner as well.)
HS: "Well tension is high, and this very volitile situation could boil over at any minute.."
(Brian Williams forces Snake out of the ring by starting the action as he runs across the ring and nails Dustin Dread with a clothesline, and Dread who was facing the opposite way hits the corner hard. Williams then turns and clotheslines Price over the top rope to the floor and with two men left in the ring the bell rings.)
FJ: "Well, it looks like Williams really wanted to start this match off, and I think Jayson Price just got a little reminder of what Brian Williams is all about."
HS: "Yeah, and he does not look impressed as he is picking himself up of the floor."
(Price jaws at Williams who just chuckles evily and turns his attention quickly to Dread. Williams pulls the 7 plus footer into the middle of the ring where he nails him with a hard left forearm, then another and another. These forearm shots back Dread back into the corner where Williams boots him in the stomach repeatedly until Dread begins to slump to the canvas. With him down in a seated position Williams takes several steps backward and then runs in nailing Dread with a running knee connecting cleanly with his exposed chin. Dread falls the rest of the way to the mat as Williams admires his dirty work.)
HS: "Williams just manhandled Dread, and the man is huge, but I guess that just goes to show you how dangerous Brian Williams can be if he decides to."
FJ: "I'll say, he nearly kneed the head clean off of the shoulders of Dustin Dread."
HS: "But it also looks like he is not done, but I dont know if I agree with this strategy."
(Williams pulls Dread back to his feet and whips him to the far corner where Dread hits hard and stumbles ou and is seconds later dropped with authority courtesy a hard running clothesline by Williams. Williams then drops an elbow and covers and the ref slides into counting position. 1......................2......................... Kickout.)
HS: "Near fall, Dread just got the shoulder up."
(Williams does not even waste any time with the ref, he simply climbs back to his feet and drags the huge Dread with him. WIlliams then scoops Dread up and slams him to the canvas and drops another elbow, but as he is dropping Snake slaps him on the shoulder, effectively tagging himself in. Snake steps between the ropes as Williams goes for a cover. The ref will not count and points to Snake making the tag motion, and as he does a look of rage forms on the face of Williams who stares Snake down. Williams climbs over the top rope not taking his eyes off of the man in the ring.)
FJ: "Ha, apparantly Snake is eager to get into the action as well. But did you see the look on Williams face?"
HS: "I did indeed, and I really think Snake should be careful, Williams could snap at any moment and bury him, I have seen him explode over less."
FJ: "Well, I think Snake will be fine, he can handle himself, and has dealt with Williams many times in the past."
(Snake quickly picks up where Williams left off dropping two elbows onto Dread followed by a cover for 1...................................2.................................. Kickout by Dread. Snake, just like Williams stays right on top of the action and begins to pull Dread to his feet, but as he does so Dread nails him with a defensive elbow right to the midsection knocking Snake off stride a bit. Dread hits another elbow and is able to pull to his feet, and as Snake stands up Dread flattens him with a clothesline.)
HS: "That turned this match around in a hurry, and it turned Snake inside out."
FJ: "But Dread needs a tag badly or it might not make a difference!"
(Dread climbs back to his feet and begins to make his way to his corner, but still feeling the effects of the assault of Snake and Williams he is slow getting there. SNake is able to make it to his feet, but instead of tagging he goes after Dread but is to late and Dread tags Jayson Price into the match. Price steps into the ring and Snake takes a step back and sizes up the much smaller Price. The two men come together locking up and Snake does a quick go behind into a hammer lock, but it is short lived as Price is able to reverse into a hammer lock of his own.)
HS: "Well, I certainly was not expecting to see much technical wrestling here in this match, perhaps the two of these men have found some new...."
FJ: "Or perhaps not."
(The perhaps not refers to Price letting go of Snake and hitting him with a hard open hand slap in the back of the head. Price throws a little mock grin at Snake who just smiles back and the two circle and are about to lock up again, but Price decides instead to kick Snake in the midsection and drop him with a lightning quick DDT. Price then rolls over hooks Snakes leg for the cover and the ref, a little late slides into position to count 1......................................... 2........................................)
HS: "OH, ANother near fall, Price and Dread have certainly turned this one around in a real hurry."
FJ: "Yeah, but that means nothing, the big detail lies in whether they can hold the advantage, look at Williams, he is just itching to get in there."
(Price glares at the ref, but just for a moment before he pulls Snake back to his feet backing him into a neutral corner and nailing him with a series of knife edge chops. Price then whips Snake to the far corner, but no, instead he holds on and pulls Snake back at him nailing him with a boot to the midsection followed by a violent looking and sounding implant DDT. He then quickly rolls Snake over and hooks the leg for a quick cover 1.........................................2............................................)
HS: "NO! Save by Williams, and just in time, this one might have been over had it not been for the interjection of Williams into this match."
FJ: "Uh-Oh, look out, all hell is about to break loose."
(Dread has now joined the other three in the ring and he and Williams begin to trade blows. Williams gets the better of the exchange and sends Dread over the top rope with a clothesline, but somehow Dread is able to land on his feet staring up at Williams.)
HS: "How the hell did he land on his feet, and look at his stare at Williams, wait a minute, where is he....."
FJ: "My god Summers look!"
(Williams takes off running hitting the far ropes then returns and when he reaches the ropes he launches himself over the ropes and a suicide dive touching nothing on his way over. He makes contact with Dread and both men hit the ground hard Williams on top of Dread, and Dread hitting his head off of the ringside railing. Back in the ring Price begins to pull Snake back to his feet, but Snake nails him with a low blow out of the view of the ref who is tending to the Williams Dread situation the lowblow brings Price to his knees and allows Snake to get back to his feet. Snake then runs hits the ropes and nails a big boot to the face of Price putting him flat on his back. Snake then drops a leg across the chest of Price then flips over hooking the leg for the cover. The ref is still occupied for a moment before seeing the cover and then counting 1..................................2............................. Price is able to just get a shoulder up.)
HS: "So close, Snake might have had this won if it had not been for the referee tending to the carnage outside the ring."
FJ: "But he might not have, Price may have just been waiting for the two count, you know saving his energy."
HS: "Well that may be the case, but some how I doubt it."
(Snake glares at the ref, obviously blaming him for the slow reaction. BUt he is back to the offense seconds later pulling Price to his fet and pushing him back into the corner. Meanwhile Williams is pulling himself back to his feet finally and climbing back up onto the apron. Snake then whips Price to the far side of the ring and charges across but before he leaves the corner Williams slaps him in the back and again the ref makes the tag motion. Snake does not catch this and runs after Price hitting the ropes near the corner and when Price stumbles out Snake nails him with a bulldog and follows up with a cover. The ref just like before looks down at Snake and shows him that Williams was tagged in. Snake looks right at Williams and shakes his head obviously upset.)
HS: "Well, turn abouts fair play. Snake did it earlier, and Williams just repaid the favor, and look at the mocking smile on the face of Brian Williams."
FJ: "I don't think either man wants the other to finish the match. I think both Snake and Williams want to get the win themselves."
HS: "Yeah, well if they can not get along neither of them may end up getting the pinfall, but one of them may end up on the other end of a pinfall."
FJ: "Ah Herb Summers, forever the optimist."
(Snake reluctantly leaves the ring as Williams pulls Price to his feet and backs him into the corner where he nails him with a back elbow causing Price to slump over in the corner. This just as Dustin Dread is finally getting back to his corner obviously still very out of it after striking his head off of the guard rail around the ring. WIlliams is about to whip Price but instead holds on and pulls him back hitting a violent spinebuster. Williams covers without hooking the leg and Dread sees this and tags himself in by tapping the leg of the prone Jayson Price. The ref acknowledges the tag and Williams climbs up only to get caught with a strong right from Dread. Williams fires back and the two men begins to trade right hands mid ring.)
HS: "This one is fixin to get out of control again, I hope the ref can restore order."
FJ: "Could you restore order with those two giants in the ring if they did not want to be stopped?"
HS: "Not likely, the ref obviously has his hands full here."
(Dread gains a bit of an advantage as the ref steps in to warn about the closed fists, and as he is warning Dread Dread stumbles forward. He turns to see Snake standing behind him right hand cocked, and both the ref and Dread make a move for Snake, but the ref gets there first and all Dread gets is a low blow from Brian Williams. Williams then with Dread on one knee Williams hooks him into a dragon sleeper and drops turning and driving his elbow into the face of Dread as he falls. Williams looks around and covers and Snake points out this cover to the ref who turns and drops ready to count 1...................................................2.............................................. Jayson Price tries to intervene but is cut off by a Snake clothesline ..........................................3)
HS: "Its over, Brian Williams just pinned Dustin Dread after hitting that vicious combination DDT Elbow, a move he calls Morbid Reality."
FJ: "I wonder why he calls it that?!?!"
HS: "I think that speaks for itself!"
FJ: "You are slow Summers, that was obviously what I was getting at."
HS: "Oh, I just did not think you were smart enough to figure it out, though you were serious with that question."
FJ: "Such hate in you, such hate."
(Williams climbs to his feet and stares at Snake who stares back. Williams then steps backwards and climbs over the top rope out of the ring almost laughing at the carnage in the ring before he heads up the ramp.)
(A small video package is shown, highlighting the greatest moments in Wrestlefest history. Then, afterwards, it shows a volume collection of Wrestlefests I-V, now available on DVD!)
HS: "So, Frank, I'm sure you're ready for our next match here."
FJ: "You better believe it. I love violence, and here's the match that allows that violence to happen."
HS: "Our next match will feature Quade de'Sade and Mickey Showery."
FJ: "If I make, Herb, this most likely the last AWA event we'll see... Not only this year, but forever."
HS: "Herb, don't allow your emotions to effect you on a night like this..."
FJ: "Anyway, the has-been, Mickey Showery has returned."
('Sadness' by Enigma reverbs from the speakers; heavy industrial chords conterpoint the agonising screams peeling from the images on screen; The Crucifier practiced on opponent after opponent... Then in a moments respite only the heavy, sighing breath of an unseen woman can be heard.
The Lights in the audtorium are extinguished. And like a burning brimstone flood letters spelling the name QUADE DESADE form a fiery cruciform logo; and the harsh tempo resumes and the monks begin again their mantra. Bathed in the flaming incandesence of his fiery cross Quade deSade stands at the top of the ramp. Enshrouded in the faded, travelworn trailcoat he stands staring out at the spotlighted ring. It is then that the love can be fealt: Ignorant of the crowd on either side of him, deaf to the jeers and insults raining on him Quade walks unhurried and uncaring towards the ring. The bright banners dissing on him and cussing him don't attract his attention. His only reponse is the the seemingly perminant cold, crocodile grin which seems more for himself than for any wouldbe fan out there. Suddenly Mickey Showery up behind de'Sade and knocks him into the ring. Showery begins a flurry of fists to de'Sade's head.)
HS: "A quick start to this one, folks."
(Showery continues to reign the punches down. But he eventually gets a wild punch thrown and de'Sade counters with a quick punch to Showery's stomach. Showery tries to come back, but de'Sade quickly moves out of the way. We see de'Sade take off his trenchcoat, and throws it over Showery's head. de'Sade quickly runs and clotheslines the blinded Showery. We see de'Sade quickly begin to throw punches at the helpless Mickey Showery. Showery continues to struggle as de'Sade removes his belt.)
FJ: "The tide in this match has turned."
HS: "Frank, I said do your job... Not mine."
FJ: "Then stop doing mine."
(Showery gets unwrapped out of the trenchcoat. de'Sade now takes a running start at Showery, but Showery executes a drop toe hold, sending de'Sade's face into the ring post. Showery quickly picks de'Sade up, and rolls him into the ring. The referee starts the bell.)
FJ: "You mean I've been commentating for nothing?"
HS: "What are you talking about Frank?"
FJ: "I've been working, but the match just started? This isn't in my notes."
HS: "Frank, the referee never got both men in the ring, so this is the first chance he's got to start the match."
(Showery picks his opponent up, and they begin to trade punches.)
HS: "This is an all out brawl."
FJ: "Good... Hopefully there will be some all out blood to go along with it."
(Right.. Left... Right... Left... Right... Left... Right... Left... Finally de'Sade misses a punch, but instead of stopping with a follow through, he runs and hits the ropes, he bounces up and nails an unsuspecting Mickey Showery with a clothesline. Showery is quickly back to his feet, and he meets de'Sade with a clothesine of his own. de'Sade doesn't take too kindly to that as he stands back up. He quickly charges Showery and attempts a clothesline, but Showery ducks. de'Sade turns around into a dropkick to the face. de'Sade his the mat, but he's quickly back up to respond with a dropkick of his own. We hear the crowd begin to cheer in the amazement of what looked to be a brawl, turned into a wrestling match.)
HS: "What a wrestling match."
FJ: "Damn them... I wanted blood."
(They now lock up. de'Sade applies a side headlock. Showery, being the ring veteran he is, backs de'Sade into the ropes and shoots him off. de'Sade rebounds off the ropes, but Showery hits the ground and de'Sade jumps him. de'Sade bounces off the ropes again and Showery catches him with a side headlock takeover. de'Sade quickly counters with a headscissors. Showery quickly kips up out of it. We hear the crowd cheer again as Showery hits the ropes and hits a knee to de'Sade's face.)
HS: "This is amazing!"
FJ: "I think de'Sade just lost a tooth!"
(Showery drops down and begins choking de'Sade. We see de'Sade quickly counter with a straight punch to the face. Showery Relinquishes the hold. He rolls out of the ring. de'Sade quickly follows him. They begin brawling in the aisle way again. Showery gets the upper hand after nailing a Super Kick. de'Sade rolls on the ground, near the ring post his face hit earlier. Suddenly, de'Sade grabs something. As he stands up, he lays the object on the apron. Showery comes up behind him, and de'Sade raises his leg up trick knee style nailing Showery in the netherregion. de'Sade now grabs what looks like the No Limits Title belt and smashes it over the face of Showery.)
HS: "What a cheater."
FJ: "You forget the rules don't you? It's a Hardcore match outside the ring, and a showcase of wrestling inside the ring."
(After about thirty seconds of straight boots the ribs, de'Sade picks Showery up, and puts both of Showery's arms on the steel railing. de'Sade signals as if he's going to chop Showery. Showery quickly grabs de'Sade's hand that's going through the chopping motion, and pulls him in for a short arm clothesline. We see Showery quickly crawl, trying to pull himself up by the mat. Suddenly, de'Sade pops back up. We see him spit on the mat before walking over to Showery. Suddenly, Showery pulls a chair out from under the ring, and hits de'Sade in the stomach with it. de'Sade doubles over as Showery pulls himself up by the mat. Showery now grabs the chair and BANG! right across the face of de'Sade.)
HS: "What a vile chair shot."
FJ: "Is he bleeding?"
(Showery quickly drops the chair and pulls his lifeless opponent up. Showery rolls his opponent in the ring. and goes for the cover. One... Two... and de'Sade gets his shoulder up.)
HS: "He barely kicks out."
(Showery applies a rear naked choke. de'Sade slowly rolls and Showery turns it into a side headlock. Before the headlock can take any effect, de'Sade picks Showery up and nails a back suplex. de'Sade attempts to bridge for a pin. One... Two... and de'Sade let's go of the bridge.)
HS: "de'Sade nearly had him there."
FJ: "The chairshot is still taking it's effects Herb."
HS: "That was my next point Frank, before you decided to chime in and do my job."
FJ: "Hey, this is an open audition for me... I may get hired somewhere else if I do well doing both of our jobs."
(de'Sade slowly stands back up. Mickey Showery also slowly gets up. de'Sade grabs Showery's head in a headlock position and then executes a Running Bull Dog 'Guillotine' that pulls the opponent down onto the top rope with enough force that they are catapulted off the rope and out of the ring. We see both men laying on the ground in pain.)
HS: HOLY!"
FJ: "Wow... That had to hurt. Glad it wasn't me on the other end of that."
(The referee slides out of the ring to check on both men. de'Sade quickly shoves the referee to the ground. The referee crawls over to the returning Mickey Showery. de'Sade grabs the steel guardrail and pulls himself up. As he tires to walk, his knee nearly gave out, so he leans on the rail. Showery now attempts to get up, by using the mat to pull himself up.)
HS: "Both men are hurt."
FJ: "Both men told the referee to continue."
HS: "They could be taking a chance on their careers."
FJ: "Isn't everybody doing that tonight?"
(Showery rolls into the ring, and the referee follows him in. de'Sade finally walks across to the ring, and he pulls himself up by grabbing onto the middle rope. He now steps through the middle rope as Showery begins to use the middle rope to pull himself up. de'Sade goes for a mule kick, but Showery pushes off the ropes and does a commando roll on the ground. de'Sade turns around to a right hook that rocks him. Showery goes for an Irish whip but de'Sade counters. Showery bounces off the ropes with a diving shoulder block that knocks the rocked de'Sade off his feet. Showery goes for a cover. One... Two...)
HS: "What a kickout by de'Sade!"
FJ: "Showery still has something left... This is amazing."
HS: "I knew you'd see the light."
FJ: "For a has-been."
(Showery quickly pulls de'Sade up and Irish whips him into the ropes. de'Sade bounces off the ropes and is nailed with a belly to belly suplex. Showery quickly goes for another cover. One... Two... And right before the referee's hand hits the mat for a third time, we see de'Sade's foot land on the bottom rope.)
HS: "Another near fall."
FJ: "How much more does de'Sade have left in the tank."
(Showery pulls de'Sade back up. He stands de'Sade up, and throws a punch, but de'Sade ducks under it. De'Sade sees that Showery has spun around, so he goes for a hip toss, but Showery lands on his feet. de'Sade now turns towards the middle of the ring and picks Showery up and nails a reverse Brain Buster/stalling DDT combination. de'Sade slowly crawls on top of him. One... Two... Three...)
HS: "What a move!"
FJ: "de'Sade wins the match with a combination we haven't stall before. The only thing close to that was Jeff Christianson's reverse Brainbuster he used to do."
HS: "True Herb. He just improvised a bad situation and stole a rival's move."
FJ: "Quade de'Sade may not only be the only multi-time No Limits Champion, but he also may be the last No Limits Champion."
HS: "That is a good point, Frank."
FJ: "I know, I do my best to make great points. That's why I make the big money."
HS: "And you also are in credit card debt up to your neck?"
(We go backstage at Madison Square Garden in New York City and we see AWA President Travis Gray standing in our presence. We has his hands folded in front of him, this well dressed authority figure seems to be talking to someone to his left. As the camera pans back, we see it is none other than "Hot Shot” Ray Owens! Ray is dressed for his match and has the hood on his ring jacket/hooded sweatshirt up. Ray Owens is finishing up his tape on his fists while talking with Travis Gray, in what seems to be a pleasant conversation but it is all just mumbles to us. Seconds later, we hear the door to Travis Gray’s makeshift office squeak open and into the shot comes "The Sensational” Brian Stevens. While Owens is dressed for his match…Stevens is a different story all together. Stevens is wearing a folded black bandana around his head, his black and white ring jacket, a pair of Camouflage shorts as well as his traditional black elbow pads, kick pads, knee pads and boots. In short, Stevens looks ready for a WAR! Stevens has a smug look on his face, which is evident even while he obnoxiously chews a piece of gum. Owens, upon noticing the upstart Brian Stevens, rips the roll of tape he was using and tosses it hard to his side. Owens rips back the hood on his black sweatshirt and steps right up to Stevens, trying to lock eyes with the phenom. Stevens laughs and turns his head away from Owens, showing him that he isn’t afraid of him. Travis Gray backs Owens up a bit before turning to Brian Stevens…)
TRAVIS GRAY: "What the hell are you doing here, Stevens?”
"THE SENSATIONAL” BRIAN STEVENS: "I’m here for a number of reason, Travis. Plus, it wouldn’t be an AWA Televised EVENT if I didn’t come in here and give you a few more gray hairs, now would it?”
"HOT SHOT” RAY OWENS: "Brian Stevens. You just went an’ ruined a perfectly good conversation, kid. What makes you think that you can just come on in here like this?”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Give it a rest, West Texas. You and I will throw down soon enough. My business is with Travis Gray so why don’t you hit the bricks, jerk off.”
RAY OWENS: "Why don’t you watch your damn mouth, son.”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Oh? Why don’t you piss off! This is between Gray and I now! This concerns things outside of Steel Cage Survival! This concerns the AWA World Heavyweight Championship match!”
TRAVIS GRAY: "Why am I not surprised?”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Shut up, Gray. No lip is needed out of you AT ALL! All I need is a WAY into that match. I don’t care if you have to pull John Rourke or Jeff Christianson out of that match! I EARNED that title shot and YOU are going to give it to me RIGHT FUCKING NOW or I swear to GOD I destroy your Main Event!”
RAY OWENS: "There ya go whining again.”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Hey. Owens. Remember when I told you to shut up? ACTUALLY do it! …So how about it Gray? How about MY title shot? How about my rematch?”
TRAVIS GRAY: "I’m NOT going to pull Rourke OR Christianson out of the World Title match. You shouldn’t even bother coming in here because you KNOW the answer is NO!”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Then make it a Fatal Four Way! This WILL be the last night of the American Wrestling Alliance and I DEMAND you give me the shot I EARNED! Let this company fold with the future of this business at it’s helm.”
TRAVIS GRAY: "Absolutely NOT! You will fight in the Steel Cage Survival and ONLY the Steel Cage Survival TONIGHT!”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Yeah? Is that so? Well, guess what, asshole! You can kiss "The Legendary” Low goodbye because I am taking him OUT! I PROMISE you that he will NEVER make it to the Main Event!”
TRAVIS GRAY: "Actually, he will, Brian. He will wrestle the Main Event and the AWA will live on. If you touch Low, you will be slapped with a Lawsuit so ENORMOUS that you will NEVER be able to live the lifestyle you live now EVER again! I will hit you where it hurts you the most. THE WALLET!”
BRIAN STEVENS: "You know what!? FINE! Whatever. This company is dead, RIP, TONIGHT! The LWA IS coming. I can PROMISE that!”
RAY OWENS: "You almost done? You’re boring me to tears, kid.”
TRAVIS GRAY: "Actually, since I’ve got you here, Brian. Why don’t you be the member of your team to represent your faction for tonight’s Steel Cage Survival Coin Toss?”
(Travis Gray pulls out a silver Half Dollar coin and shows it to Brian Stevens. Brian smirks and snatches the coin from Gray and examines it before handing it back to his boss…)
TRAVIS GRAY: "Since this IS The Family’s match, I will let you call the toss, Brian.”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Tails. Tails never fails.”
(Travis shoots Ray Owens a glance before flicking the coin high into the air and letting it hit the ground. The coin spins on edge dramatically before sputtering out and landing face-up. Ray Owens smiles and Stevens smugly shakes his head in disbelief…)
TRAVIS GRAY: "It’s heads. The Family will have the first advantage TONIGHT in Steel Cage Survival. Ray, good luck, my friend. Brian, good luck…you’ll need it.”
BRIAN STEVENS: "Shut up, Gray. And hey, "Hot Shot.” Lars wanted me to give you a message in case I saw you before the match, so here it is…”
(Brian spits right in the FACE of Ray Owens. Brian’s jaw drops in laughter as he leaves the room, laughing hysterically. Ray Owens, on the other hand, is SO furious that he is shaking in rage. Travis Gray tries to calm Owens down as we go back to ringside with Frank and Herb…)
HS: "So, it appears that the Family gets the upper hand in the beginning of the Steel Cage Survival match."
FJ: "I can't wait for that."
HS: "Well, to keep you from crying out in agony, why don't you just enjoy this next match. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for the match for the tag team titles! The champions, The Canucks, are putting their titles on the line against not one, but two other teams! The Fish and BlackJack make up The Aquatic Aces, who are the team that The Canucks won the title from in the first place.”
FJ: "Lasiewicz and Cynder make up the broken-down Carnival who are trying to keep the AWA alive past tonight! It’s too bad for them that they are going to fail at that and in this match!”
("Give It All” by Rise Against starts playing and both Terry and XTJ come out through the curtain, staring at the crowd, soaking in all the heat from them. They both proceed to their sides of the stage, Terry to the right end of the stage and XTJ to the left. They go to the very edge of each side and wave a Canadian and a Quebec flag, respectively. Nearby fans cuss and yell at them, but Terry and XTJ just point to the tag team titles around their waists and head back to the center of the stage. The two walk down the ramp and slide under the bottom rope into the ring. They kip up and go to the top of the turnbuckles in front of them. Terry goes to the right and waves his flag, then perches it on the top rope as XTJ does the same on the left. Terry and XTJ dismount the turnbuckles and go into the middle of the ring. They smirk as they take out "I BLEED AWA” t-shirts from their crotches and start riding them, much to the disliking of the crowd. After a few moments Terry and XTJ throw the t-shirts to the ground below and go back to the turnbuckles with their flags on it. They remove the flags and place them on the outside of their corner, then wait for their opponents.)
HS: "What disrespect these two are showing to the AWA!”
FJ: "They are just giving their opinions Herb, geez.”
HS: "Opinions my ass!”
FJ: "Frank, you’re lucky that the AWA is going under after this, otherwise you might be fired for saying that!”
(Erie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint, moving in a way to make it seem like the whole arena is under water. Along with the underwater lighting comes lights that show aces of spades all through out the arena and on the AWAtron. "Maxwell Murder" by Rancid hits and the crowd erupts in cheers as water shoots from the stage at the same time that sparks fly out from the corners of the AWAtron. Fish and Blackjack come running out of the back each slapping the pre-outstretched hands of the fans on either side of the ramp way, they do this going all the way around the ring then meet by the announce tables and give each other a big jumping high five and yelling "BAM!" Blackjack slides into the ring and Fish slingshots himself over the top rope. The Canucks mock The Aces’ high-five and chuckle to themselves as Fish and BlackJack go to their corners.)
HS: "The Aquatic Aces are looking to get their tag team titles back from the team they lost them to tonight! Will they be able to do it?”
FJ: "No.”
(As the gentle pulses of "Hell" by Disturbed begin to play, many different faces fade in and out across the AWAtron. Cynder's face joins theirs then supplants theirs, and when the heavy riffs hit, Cynder appears at the top of the ramp and screams out with all the voices of the Hazard Army joining him. After his primal war cry, he slowly stalks toward the ring staring into the faces of the people closest to him along the isle. A few times he stops to absorb the crowd’s emotions. When he gets to the ring he stop and waits for him partner, waving his arm over his head in a beckoning call. Cynder’s entrance music stops and the arena darkens slowly. An air siren begins to sound, with green spotlights shooting in all directions as an infamous slogan is revealed on the big screen:
COME N' PLACE YA BETS!!
"Welcome to the Jungle" suddenly thunders from the P.A system. The Gambit steps out from behind the curtain, a traditional cigarette in his mouth as he stalks his way down to the ring, and he cracks a cheeky grin at the reaction from the crowd. He circles the ring, and as he rolls in, Cynder does as well. Lasiewicz stands on the turnbuckle surveying the fans with a Cheshire Cat grin while Cynder jumps to the second turnbuckle and raises his fist into the sky and all the Army follows suit and cheers. Lasiewicz hops off and stops for a minute receiving the reaction of all the fans. He then walks slowly over to the top rope before perching himself on the top rope raising his right arm in the air as the crowd screams. Meanwhile, Cynder drops down and leans against the ropes, cracking his knuckles as he looks at The Canucks and The Aquatic Aces. All the participants in the match watch as the ref takes the tag titles from Terry and XTJ, raising them high into the air for the world to see. He then hands them to a person on the outside of the ring and motions for the match to start. Before the bell even rings The Canucks dash over to the Aces and clothesline both of them over the ropes to the floor!)
HS: "Well, it looks like The Canucks have gotten rid of one half of their opponents early on, a good strategy.”
FJ: "They are geniuses!”
(The ref starts to yell at The Canucks as they go back to their corner. Terry stays in, as does Cynder. XTJ and Lasiewicz step out to the apron and watch the events unfolding in front of them. Terry and Cynder quickly tie up in the middle of the ring, but Terry quickly gets an advantage, catching Cynder in an arm wrench. Terry whips Cynder’s arm down while still holding onto it, wrenching in the hold even more. Cynder manages to reverse it after a few moments though into a shinbreaker! Terry hops around, holding his left leg in pain, as Cynder rebounds off the opposite ropes. Cynder goes for a kitchen sink, but Terry was playing possum and catches Cynder with a drop toe hold! Cynder falls forward and gets his neck hung up on the bottom rope. Terry notices they are near Lasiewicz and Cynder’s corner and starts to choke Cynder on the bottom rope. The ref starts to tell Terry to stop, causing him to turn his back to XTJ, who is now taking the Quebec flag from his corner. XTJ quickly runs over to the side of the ring where BlackJack and Fish are getting up. Just as The Aces get to their feet, however, they get knocked right back down from a double clothesline maneuver with the flag pole! XTJ scampers back to his corner, placing the flag where it was, just as Terry releases the choke on the four count. The crowd boos loudly at this.)
HS: "I can’t believe they just did that!”
FJ: "I told you, they are geniuses! They know how to distract a ref!”
(XTJ and Terry smirk at each other for a moment as Terry helps the gasping Cynder to his feet. Terry whips Cynder to the opposite ropes and runs after him, catching Cynder in a flapjack on the immediate rebound! Cynder’s face drives down into the mat and Terry quickly tags in XTJ. Terry holds Cynder as XTJ applies a Camel Clutch! Cynder writhes in pain as he is just out of the reach of the ropes. Terry chuckles and watches from the apron.)
HS: "Some good tag team strategy now from The Canucks. They are keeping Cynder far away from Lasiewicz’s hand and wearing him down.”
FJ: "Geniuses.”
(Lasiewicz starts yelling motivational words at Cynder, who is slowly starting to inch his leg towards the ropes. Just as it look like he is about to get there though, the ropes start to move away.)
HS: "Terry James is blatantly cheating! How can the ref not see this?”
FJ: "Maybe he doesn’t want to get a slapshot into his face.”
(The ref sees the ropes moving away after a moment and goes over to yell at Terry. XTJ immediately takes advantage of this and knees Cynder in his Army of One! Cynder rolls over in pain and XTJ goes for the pin. Terry points this out to the ref, who turns and drops to the mat, starting the count. One…Lasiewicz rushes in and breaks up the pin with dropkick to XTJ’s face! Lasiewicz starts to pull Cynder to their corner, but the ref starts shouting at him, so he stops halfway there. Meanwhile, XTJ rolls over to his corner and tags in Terry. Terry leaps to the top rope and spring boards off, catching Cynder in a bulldog just as Cynder gets to his feet to tag Lasiewicz! Cynder somehow manages to get his hand to hit Lasiewicz’s though on the way down and Lasiewicz is declared the legal man! The crowd erupts into cheer as The Gambit jumps over the ropes and rushes towards Terry, who is getting up to meet him. Terry goes for a clothesline, but Lasiewicz ducks it, kicks Terry in the gut as he turns and nails him with a DDT! Lasiewicz quickly pulls Terry into the center of the ring and locks in a Texas Cloverleaf! Terry shouts in pain as he has nowhere to go! The ref checks with Terry to see if he wants to give up, but Terry shakes his head in defiance. Lasiewicz wrenches in the hold for another few moments before Terry, out of desperation, powers himself out of the hold, sending Lasiewicz to his back. Terry rolls around, holding his leg, before starting his crawl to his corner. Lasiewicz is quick to his feet though and quickly pulls Terry back to the center of the ring. Terry will have no more of his submissions though as he kicks Lasiewicz’s shin, causing The Gambit to fall down to the mat. Terry then gets up and helps Lasiewicz to his feet before Irish Whipping him into the ropes. Lasiewicz rebound off and goes for a clothesline, but Terry ducks and hits a quick dropping neckbreaker on him! Lasiewicz’s head whiplashes off of Terry’s shoulder as they both hit the canvas. Neither is moving though as the ref begins his count.)
One…
Two…
Three…
(Out of nowhere Terry kips up to his feet and smirks to the crowd as he walks over to his corner, tagging in the fresh XTJ, much to the dismay of the crowd.)
HS: "It looks like Terry was just playing possum to the crowd there!”
FJ: "Gen-"
HS: "Stop saying genius Frank!”
FJ: "ius.”
(XTJ runs over to Lasiewicz and helps him to his feet, before dropping him back down with a DDT! XTJ quickly gets up and rolls Lasiewicz over to his stomach, applying The Canuck! Lasiewicz comes back to life and starts to yell and shake his head in pain. Cynder motions for the crowd to get behind his partner and they do, shouting "DEAL WITH IT!” at the top of their lungs. Lasiewicz seems to get a wave of new life as he throws XTJ off of him with his legs. XTJ falls forward to the ropes, rebounding off as Lasiewicz gets to his feet. Lasiewicz looks for a clothesline, but XTJ stops dead in his tracks and waves his finger at Lasiewicz to say "no”. Lasiewicz snarls and slaps XTJ across the face, causing him to fall back against the ropes. Lasiewicz rushes forward and clothesline’s him down to the ground on the rebound! He then runs over to his corner, tagging in the eager Cynder! The crowd cheers as Cynder comes in and pulls XTJ to his feet. XTJ quickly pushes him off though and kicks him in the gut. Cynder doubles over and XTJ shoves his head under his arm. He then quickly spins on the spot and hits a Twist of Fate on Cynder! XTJ quickly gets up and runs to the ropes, springboarding off of them and landing a Lionsault on the downed Cynder!)
FJ: "The Xtremist!”
HS: "XTJ pins Cynder, but he only gets a two count as Lasiewicz comes in and breaks it up!”
(The ref yells for Lasiewicz to get back into his corner as XTJ gets up, bringing Cynder up with him. XTJ then whips Cynder across the ring, stalking behind him and waiting for the rebound. Cynder rebounds off and XTJ looks for the Side Effect! Cynder hits a devastating clothesline out of nowhere though that sends XTJ down to the canvas! Both men are down, but Cynder manages to get to his feet and tag in Lasiewicz. The crowd pops again as Lasiewicz comes into the ring, but he does not go to XTJ. Instead he waits in his corner and gives a Cheshire Cat grin to the crowd. XTJ gets to his feet and turns around, right into The Peacemaker! Lasiewicz goes for the pin! One…Two…Thre-XTJ gets his shoulder up!)
HS: "Xtreme Jeff is showing a lot of resilience here, kicking out of the Peacemaker!”
FJ: "Lasiewicz can’t beat The Canucks!”
(Lasiewicz slams his hands on the matt and looks towards Cynder, who is motioning for something. Lasiewicz’s grin comes back and he nods his head. He goes to the outside of the ring and forages under the apron for something.)
HS: "No! Don’t do it! You’ll get disqualified!”
FJ: "Do it!”
(Lasiewicz starts to pull something out and we soon see that it is not a weapon, but a ladder! He sees XTJ is still down in the ring and sets it up. The crowd is going nuts as he starts to climb the ladder! Terry drops down to the floor and runs over to intercept Lasiewicz, but Cynder catches him with a clothesline that stops the attempt. Lasiewicz reaches the top of the ladder, which looks like it is twenty feet tall and stands tall on it. He takes aim and leaps off! He drops a little less than twenty feet into the ring, his elbow homing in on XTJ’s head. But no! XTJ moves out of the way at the last second and Lasiewicz hits at full speed into the canvas!)
HS: "Oh my god! He might have broken his arm!”
FJ: "Yes! Injury!”
(XTJ picks Lasiewicz up and whips him into the ropes. Lasiewicz is in no shape to dodge the Side Effect as he is driven to the matt with it. But, XTJ does not cover. He looks to the outside of the ring and sees Terry and Cynder brawling. What he neglects to look at though is Fish and BlackJack, who are now getting to their feet on the outside. They quickly slide in under the bottom rope, and go for a double clothesline on XTJ. However, XTJ sees them at the last second and hits them with a double Side Effect! Fish and BlackJack crash down into the mat with force as XTJ kips up with a burst of adrenaline! XTJ drags Fish and BlackJack so that they are in line with Lasiewicz and points into the sky, looking at the twenty foot ladder on the side of the ring.)
HS: "What is he going to do!?”
FJ: "You know it’s going to be something huge! There is a reason why his name is Xtreme Jeff!”
(Cynder and Terry are still exchanging rights and lefts on the outside as XTJ is taking out the trash in the ring, but soon Cynder gets an advantage and hits Terry with a short-arm Big Boot! Terry drops to the ground and Cynder looks into the ring, climbing to the apron and taunting at XTJ. Cynder steps in and XTJ motions for him to bring it. Cynder methodically cuts his throat and walks towards XTJ, who slowly backs up. We see why XTJ is not attacking Cynder though as Terry is getting up on the outside. The crowd is trying to tell Cynder to turn around, but Cynder does not seem to notice. Terry quickly climbs to the apron and XTJ smirks, then says "turn around”. Cynder does so and gets caught in a huge spinebuster from Terry! Terry quickly runs to the turnbuckle and climbs to the top. He gives a thumbs up to XTJ and leaps off, doing a backflip and landing a Shooting Star Press on Cynder! Terry quickly drags Cynder over to the other three downed opponents and lines him up with them as well. He points to the ladder and XTJ nods, sliding under the bottom rope. XTJ ascends the ladder as Terry looks on. None of their opponents are moving as he reaches the top.)
HS: "What is HE going to do!?”
FJ: "I think I have an idea!”
(XTJ points to the four opponents in the ring and rises to his feet on the top of the ladder. The whole arena seems to go silent as XTJ leaps off in a front flip, doing a second one before landing a leg drop across the throats of all four of his opponents!)
HS: "MY GOD! Xtreme Jeff just did a double frontflip off that twenty foot ladder and landed a leg drop on all four of his opponents!”
FJ: "That was amazing!”
Crowd: "HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!”
(The crowd is deafening as even though XTJ is anti-AWA, they still can’t believe what he just did! The ref almost can’t believe it either, but Terry soon yells at him to start the count as XTJ lies across all four opponents. The ref snaps out of it and drops down for the count.
One!
Two!
Three!
(NO! Lasiewicz shoves XTJ off JUST before the ref reached the three count! The Canucks can’t believe it and are it total shock! XTJ is just lying on the ground, holding his head. Terry is standing and doing the same. The other four participants of the match are all still lying on their backs. The ref can’t believe his eyes and neither can anyone else in the arena! The crowd is erupting in cheers for their hero!)
FJ: "HOW!?” HOW DID LASIEWICZ KICK OUT!?”
HS: "Lasiewicz has too much heart and passion for the AWA! I don’t think anything is going to beat him!”
(Lasiewicz is now starting to stir and get to his feet. XTJ is not paying attention and Terry has been moved to his corner by the ref since he is not the legal man. Lasiewicz pushes Cynder under the bottom of the ropes to get him out of the ring, then turns and smirks as he sees XTJ is still beside himself. He quickly runs over and pins BlackJack! The ref goes down to count, but XTJ hears the first slam of the mat by the ref and turns around. He quickly runs over and breaks up the count before it gets to two. The signs of fatigue show on both of the warriors though. It seems both of their jumps have taken their tolls as neither can get up.)
HS: "Both Xtreme Jeff and Lasiewicz are completely drained from those stunts they pulled moments ago! Neither can get up, but if Jeff can Terry is the fresh man of the match!”
FJ: "Xtreme Jeff can do it! I know he can!”
HS: "Just like you knew you would get that girl last night?”
FJ: "Shut up!”
(The ref starts his ten count, but only gets to three as both XTJ and Lasiewicz are somehow rising to their feet. Terry is shouting at XTJ to tag him in, but the crowd is urging Lasiewicz to take out XTJ! Lasiewicz raises his hand to say he is number one as he steps back to his corner. XTJ is stumbling to his feet. XTJ turns around to The Peacemaker! He ducks it and stumbling into his corner, tagging in Terry! Lasiewicz turns around and gets hit with an atomic drop. The Gambit hobbles off to the side, but Terry is quick to clothesline him down to the ground. Lasiewicz is getting a miraculous wind of energy though as the crowd is pumping him up, chanting his name. Terry clothesline’s him again, but this time Lasiewicz quickly gets to his feet and smirks at Terry! Terry snarls and rebound off the rope, nailing Lasiewicz across the face with a flying forearm! Both men drop the canvas, but in a few moments Terry kips back up! Much to Terry’s dismay, so does Lasiewicz! Terry can’t believe it as he rushes forward in rage at The Gambit. Terry goes for a clothesline, but Lasiewicz ducks and catches Terry in a Russian leg sweep! Terry’s head ricochets off the mat and he quickly holds in with both of his hands. Lasiewicz sees this and quickly climbs the turnbuckle. Terry suddenly gets up though and runs scurries up the turnbuckle to meet Lasiewicz. Terry leaps off with The Gambit’s head positioned on his shoulder and drops down to the canvas, nailing Lasiewicz with a stunner off the top rope! Lasiewicz snaps back up, completely in a daze, as Terry pops up to his feet and Super Kick’s him! Lasiewicz starts to drop, but XTJ runs into the ring and catches Lasiewicz in a Side Effect! Lasiewicz lies motionless on the ground as Terry climbs back up the turnbuckle, leaping off and hitting the downed Lasiewicz with a Moonsault!)
HS: "The Canucks just hit Lasiewicz with their finisher, The Beaver Tail! Terry even added a Thunder Strike off the top rope to start it off!”
FJ: "This match is over!”
(The ref goes down and gets the three count…but wait! Lasiewicz has his foot on the bottom rope! The ref cancels the victory and the match continues! Terry quickly pulls Lasiewicz away from the ropes and pins him again, but only gets a two count! XTJ gets sent back into his corner by the ref as he is not the legal man.)
HS: "Lasiewicz won’t let this end!”
FJ: "How is he still going!?”
HS: "Lasiewicz has a purpose! Lasiewicz has a goal! He wants the AWA to live on and he’s making sure that no anti-AWA supporters are going to be holding those tag team belts!”
(Terry gets up and looks over to see that Fish and BlackJack are still lying in the middle of the ring, not moving. He goes over and drapes over both of them. Lasiewicz doesn’t see this and the ref goes down to count. One…two…NO! Both of The Aquatic Aces kicked out! Terry can’t believe how many times he’s gotten near falls!)
HS: "The Aces are showing their first signs of life!”
FJ: "They haven’t even gotten a single move this entire match!”
(The Aces get to their feet, but Terry is already there and meets them with a double clothesline that sends them back to the ground! He goes for the cover as Lasiewicz is still dazed from The Beaver Tail. The ref goes down and counts, but only gets to two as Cynder comes rushing into the ring to break it up before three. Cynder picks Terry up to his feet, but Terry kicks him in the gut before he can do anything. Cynder doubles over and Terry hits a Thunder Strike on him! Cynder rolls out of the ring, but Lasiewicz is back up to his feet! He bounces off the ropes and hits Terry with a flying forearm that sends Terry back down to the mat. The Gambit smirks and scurries up to the top rope, but XTJ runs down the side of the apron, steps up the turnbuckle and grabs Lasiewicz’s head as he leaps off, sending Lasiewicz down to the floor in a huge bulldog!)
FJ: "Highway to Hell!”
(Terry is now getting up and sees that Fish and BlackJack are as well. Terry rushes at both of them, but they duck the double clothesline this time. Terry turns around and Fish quickly goes for the Fin-isher! But, Terry pushes him off, only to turn around into an Ace of Spades from BlackJack! But Terry pushes BlackJack off as well and turns to catch the rebounding Fish in a stunner! Terry pops up and hits BlackJack with a Super Kick!)
HS: "Terry James just did a Thunder Strike…to both of The Aquatic Aces…at the same time! I’ve never seen anything like that before!”
FJ: "Terry can’t be beat by The Washed-up Aces!”
(Both Fish and BlackJack drop down to the ground and Terry quickly covers Fish. The ref can’t say he isn’t the legal man because both BlackJack and the Fish were in the exact same place at the exact same time at all times during the match! Cynder is out from the Thunder Strike Terry gave him earlier and Lasiewicz is out from the Highway to Hell from XTJ! The ref goes down and begins his count.)
One!
Two!
THREE!
(The ref calls for the bell as Terry rolls off onto the canvas. The bell rings and both XTJ and Terry rise to their feet, turn around and stare at each other. XTJ runs into the ring and the ref gives the tag team belts back to The Canucks, then raises their arms in victory. "Give It All” by Rise Against plays as The Canucks celebrate in the ring. The Fish and BlackJack roll out to the floor. Lasiewicz starts to stir, but upon hearing the music he growls and slams the floor in frustration.)
HS: "The Canucks have done it! They have beaten both The Aquatic Aces and Lasiewicz and Cynder to retain their tag team titles!”
FJ: "Yes! I told you they would! I was right for once!”
(The Canucks get their flags from their corner, then slide out under the bottom rope. They circle around the ring, walking past the bodies of The Aquatic Aces. Upon reaching the ramp, they see Lasiewicz on the ground, furious. Terry smirks and shrugs his shoulders before saying "I told you so”. The Canucks chuckle as they walk into the back.)
(A small video package plays, displaying the Best of the AWA. The AWA's most memorable matches. This is now out on DVD as well and it comes with a free t-shirt, the "I Blee AWA" T-shirt!)
FJ: "Oh man, I can't wait!!!"
HS: "It's here, Frank! It's about to start. Frank, as you can see while looking at the ring, it is now time for STEEL CAGE SURVIVAL!”
FJ: "I can’t wait for this! Mayhem! Chaos! Blood! It’s Christmas…but only cooler.”
HS: "Now, while the ring crew assembles the Steel Cage, we will do OUR best to entertain you…”
FJ: "Whoa? What!? I’m not some entertainer guy…thing…this sucks. Why the hell isn’t the Steel Cage suspended above the ring like EVERY OTHER Steel Cage match EVER!”
HS: "Not too worry, partner. The production crew and I sat down earlier this evening and we have a pretty good on how to kill this time.”
FJ: "I’d like to kill you.”
HS: "Ooookay. Well, let’s um…let’s roll the feature.”
(We are treated to a video recapping all the things that led up to this epic encounter between Damage, Inc./Lars Fredrickson and The Family. It is accompanied by the NEW In Flames song entitled "Take This Life.” After the epic video package rolls, which finished at the 3:37 minute mark, we rejoin Herb and Frank ringside…)
HS: "Well, I would firstly like to thank the band In Flames for letting us use their new track "Take This Life”. What an amazing track. You can find that song and many like it on their new album ‘Come Clarity’ in February on Ferret Music.”
FJ: "Whoa! When did we actually let GOOD bands start contributing music to the show?”
HS: "I…I don’t know whether to tell you to shut up or commend you for ACTUALLY putting over the band.”
FJ: "Meh. Either one works.”
HS: "Well, fans. As you can see by looking at the ring, it’s only about HALF WAY set up. So, with that said, it’s time to do some prognosticating.”
FJ: "WHOA! I am NOT doing any kind of butt-hole play!”
HS: "NOT proctology, Frank. Prognosticating.”
FJ: "Yeah. I know. I don’t take or receive, sicko.”
HS: "Do you even know the difference?”
FJ: "Ahhhhhh…no. Not really. And, looking back on it, I really don’t care either. NO BUTT-HOLE PLAY! PERIOD!”
HS: "Alrighty, then. Looks like I’m doing this one by myself…bring up the graphic, guys.”
(A graphic crawls across the screen showing three detrimental factors each team needs to capitalize on. Some serious and epic orchestral music is playing in the background as Herb begins to speak…)
HS: "Here are the keys for winning. We’ll start with Lars Fredrickson and Damage, Inc.! The first, and maybe the most important thing these guys need to remember is that this IS The Family’s match. They need to respect the fact that it is THEIR playing field they are on, which I know is something, be it evident on the outside or not, that bothers all three men.”
FJ: "Yep. It should too. I know for a FACT that this is the first time ever that either Brian Stevens OR Nathaniel Henry Lee have participated in ANY kind of cage match in the AWA. That is bumming those dudes out right about now.”
HS: "And, in all fairness, it should be. They are playing The Family’s game and that DOES bring us to our second point: The Damage, Inc./Lars Fredrickson coalition NEEDS to play to their strengths and really enhance them. For instance, NHL needs to use his cunning and his wit to stay alive in this one. Stevens needs to NOT run his mouth and do what he does best: wrestle. Lars Fredrickson needs to prove to EVERYONE why he was, and maybe still is, the dominant force he has become. Tonight, Damage, Inc. and Lars need to exude pride!”
FJ: "Wow. That took FOREVER! But, you do bring up some points. Like…NHL is super smart. That’s no secret. Even when it was Nathan inside of that head, he was a pretty smart dude. Brian Stevens, DAMN can that kid wrestle. As he says, he is one of the best in the business. But as you said, it’s his MOUTH that gets him in constant trouble. The kid can’t shut up…but hey, that’s one of the reason I love him. Then there’s Lars. The Larster. "Lower Eastside” Fredrickson. He is maybe one of the greatest wrestlers in AWA history. All these men have something to prove. It’ll be interesting to see if they can get their crap together.”
HS: "Wow. Actually useful information from you. I’m impressed!”
FJ: "Well, I AM good for the occasional nugget of insight.”
HS: "Finally, the last point for Damage, Inc. and Lars Fredrickson is this: They need to be ruthless. More ruthless than we’ve EVER seen them. They are fighting for a cause and I know that they are ready…but are they ready to follow this to it’s bitter and bloody end? We’ll see in just minutes!”
FJ: "Yeah. Damage, Inc. is almost always looking to hurt someone, and they rule for that simple fact. Let’s see if they can take that recipe for awesomness and use it tonight!”
HS: "Alright. Our oppressors are taken care of so let’s talk FAMILY! What will it take The Family to win here tonight? Well, for starters, they will have to work through any ring rust, which is very, VERY difficult to do in a match as this.”
FJ: "Yup. The Medics are both well into their Forties. Ray Owens is around Thirty. All THREE haven’t really been in a ring since their last matches, which were years ago. Since their returns, The Medics got two matches or so in. Ray has one. That isn’t exactly enough for these geezers to be really ready for something this freaking brutal.”
HS: "Next, since this IS The Family’s match, they need to EXPLOIT that. They need to show WHY this match bares their name. They need to expose that as the biggest factor in this match. Failure to do so will probably lead to the opposition winning.”
FJ: "This is boring and the cage is almost done, so I’LL handle the last one and that is The Family NEEDS to regain some momentum here tonight. Owens got beat by The Larster and Damage, Inc. schooled The Medics, ALL last week. So yeah, if The Family can stop sucking, then, and only then, will they win. THE END.”
HS: "And…YES! I have received word that the cage is now FINALLY constructed.”
FJ: "About frickin’ time. I thought this bloodbath would NEVER ensue.”
HS: "So, the ring crew has cleared out and the steel cage surrounding the ring is secure. Let’s find out who drew NUMBER 1!”
("Blood & Whiskey” by The Dropkick Murphy’s hits over the Madison Square Garden sound system and out walks the "Real Lower Eastside Hero” himself, Lars Fredrickson. Lars doesn’t waste anytime getting down to the ring, taking off his coat and "Queensryche” t-shirt on his way down to the ring. Lars takes off his studded belt and slides into the ring via the ring door to the cage. Lars starts waving the studded leather strap above his head, scaring the referee. Lars finally stops and starts motioning for whoever his opponent is to come on out and get some!”)
FJ: "I love Lars. I really do…but Queensryche?”
HS: "They were amazing! What are you talking about?”
FJ: "God, you suck. They were so freaking lame!”
HS: "Well, either way. We AREN’T here to talk about music from the 80’s. We are here for the FATE of this company! With that said, let’s find out who is entrant NUMBER 2!”
(After a sizable pause, "Parabola” by Tool hits and from the back sprints "Hot Shot” Ray Owens! Owens rips off his ring jacket before sliding into the ring and drilling Lars Fredrickson with a STIFF front dropkick, just when Lars was going to try to beg off!)
HS: "Jeez! Did you see that!? Ray Owens just about broke the jaw of Lars Fredrickson!”
FJ: "That was stupid. Why would you break such an awesome jaw? Go break M-Tank’s jaw or something.”
HS: "Damn it, Frank. M-Tank is DEAD! Um…again.”
FJ: "Well, yeah. I know that. But, I guess that’s why I said ‘or something.’ Just trying to cover my ass.”
(The referee closes the cage door and this one is finally ON! Ray Owens mounts Lars and starts pounding away at his skull. Lars drops the belt and Ray Owens picks it up and wraps it around his fist and again, this legend starts pounding away at the skull of Fredrickson until he has FINALLY drawn blood!)
FJ: "YES! BLOOD!”
HS: "Yes. It would appear that Ray Owens has busted open the flesh of Lars Fredrickson and not even a minute into the match!”
FJ: "It sucks that it was Lars who got busted up, but this is phenomenal!”
(Ray sees that the damage to the skull of Lars is done so he dismounts and unravels the belt and, in a move stolen from Lars (which was stolen from Hulk Hogan), Ray Owens starts whipping Lars Fredrickson with the studded belt, leaving sizable welts all over the body of Lars! Ray throws the belt away, finally, and it heads over the top of the cage and into the crowd, where the hungry New York fans all fight over it!)
FJ: "Holy crap, dude. Look at Lars’ back! It’s all red and gross. Yikes.”
HS: "No one said this match was going to be a technical masterpiece!”
FJ: "Yeah, but look at Owens, man! He has gone absolutely loony. He’s lost it!”
HS: "Well, it WAS Brian Stevens who spit in Owens face on behalf of Lars Fredrickson just a short while ago. Maybe this anger we are seeing now, maybe it is all stemming from that incident!”
FJ: "Has to be. Ray Owens has never been this pissed before. NEVER!”
(Ray Owens brings Lars to his feet and tosses him face first into the steel cage! Lars flops back and lands hard on the back of his skull! Ray follows up and tries lifting Lars up to his feet, but Lars, out of desperation, hits Ray with a Low Blow! Ray crumbles and both men are down!)
HS: "Who has the will! Who has the desire! Who will get to their feet first!?”
FJ: "It’s gonna be Lars, my boy! He just popped Owens in the seeds!”
(Ray Owens is the first to his feet but Lars isn’t far behind! Ray, still favoring his crotch, punches Lars…but Lars no sells! Ray Owens swings and connects again, but Lars starts walking and shaking his fists. Ray connects with another punch and FINALLY, Lars, wide-eyed, points to Ray Owens and says "YOU!” It’s the Larster and he is all Larsed up! Lars starts slowly chasing a backtracking Owens! Owens, however, stops in his tracks and grabs the outstretched arm of Lars and drops him hard with a Judo Hip Toss! Ray Owens follows up with a Cross Arm Breaker on Lars and Lars immediately squirms to the ropes…but there aren’t any rope breaks!!)
FJ: "BREAK THE HOLD, YA JERK!”
HS: "He doesn’t have to! This is Steel Cage Survival! There are NO ROPE BREAKS!”
(Lars, with no where to go and no help arriving soon, regretfully taps out! Ray Owens doesn’t relinquish the hold, though!)
FJ: "LARS IS OUT!?! THIS IS CRAP!”
HS: "I can’t believe Lars tapped so early!”
FJ: "I can’t believe Owens won’t break the hold! What the hell is he doing!?”
HS: "This is out of his character, but Lars embarrassed him twice now and he is making him PAY for that!”
(Finally, a group of referees enter the ring and talk Owens down and FINALLY he breaks the hold. Lars clutches at his shoulder and elbow as the refs help him out of the ring. BUZZ! The initial three minute timer sounds and out comes The Medics Steven Striker! He makes his way slowly to the ring, chuckling at Lars Fredrickson, who is being helped to the back. Steven and Owens lock eyes and shrug at one another, figuring they’ll have a 2-1 advantage when the next buzzer sounds. HOWEVER, from out of seemingly no where, NHL clocks Striker from behind with a steel chair! Striker stalls for a second before crumbling in a heap on the ground!)
FJ: "PERFECT!!! Did you see that! NHL opted to make himself the next entrant!”
HS: "That gutless son of a bitch! He blasts Striker from behind with a Steel Chair and NO ONE does a thing about it!?”
FJ: "Of course not! It’s Henry. The dude is a genius!”
(Henry throws his steel chair into the cage from the floor, over the top and crashing near Owens. NHL circles the ring and carelessly tosses two more chairs into the cage as well. NHL finally enters the cage and Ray Owens lets him in. The two men get face to face before Ray Owens headbutts NHL from seemingly out of nowhere! Ray Owens follows up with another Headbutt before sending NHL to the ropes. Owens ducks and NHL leapfrogs over. NHL turns around, planning to catch Owens off-guard, but it backfires as Owens turns and connects with a hard Knife Edge Chop! Owens hits three more and backs NHL into the corner. Owens whips NHL across the ring to the opposite corner and charges in with a Step-Up Enzuigiri. NHL stumbles for a second before Ray Owens locks on a Full Nelson and takes NHL over with a Dragon Suplex. Owens bridges and the referee counts 2 before NHL kicks out. NHL tries fighting to his feet but Owens is quicker and clocks NHL upside the skull with a series of forearm shots. Owens sends NHL to the ropes and looks for a backbody drop…but NHL floats over and hits an outstanding Russian Leg Sweep! Again, NHL floats over and covers Ray Owens and only gets 1. NHL dismounts and drops a knee across the skull of Owens. NHL backs up to the ropes and again drops a knee on the skull of Owens. Owens tries to sit up and that allows NHL to float over and lock on a rear chin lock.)
HS: "I can’t believe this NHL! He is absolutely deplorable! He isn’t even suppose to be out here yet!”
FJ: "Whatever. He is a member of Damage, Inc., Herb. Chill out. He pretty much can do whatever he wants.”
HS: "That’s crap!”
FJ: "Oh yeah? Try telling him that! THEN we’ll see some ass kicking!”
(NHL, after holding the lock for a good minute, relinquishes the hold and opts to grab one of the three steel folding chairs in the ring. NHL stalks over to Ray Owens and, in a sickening motion, SLAMS the steel chair across the knee! Ray Owens immediately panics and starts clutching his knee! NHL raises the chair again…BUT he is suddenly taken out by Steven Striker! Striker has a bit of blood trickling from the top of his head from the earlier chair shot and is looking to get some revenge as he speared NHL and started punching away blindly, wildly, and justifiably!)
HS: "STRIKER! STRIKER! He’s still in this one!”
FJ: "Wha!? Where the hell did he even come from?”
HS: "He never left the ramp! He was getting his wits about him while the AWA Management AND Medical Staff were checking on him! He’s back in this one and he’s PISSED!”
FJ: "This isn’t fair! Do you know who’s do in next?”
HS: "Yes. Johnny Lightning. The other member of the Paramedics! EVERYONE knows that!”
FJ: "That’ll make this 3-1!! How’s that fair!?”
HS: "Hey, don’t get pissed because the other side already had Lars eliminated! That’s part of the game!”
(Striker pulls NHL up and POWERBOMBS NHL on a steel chair! Striker moves over to check on the status of Ray Owens as NHL just lays there lifelessly. Striker shows great concern for Ray Owens as he is clutching his knee, still feeling lingering effects from his match last week on Shock with Lars Fredrickson. Ray tells Steven that he’s fine and pleads with Striker to cover NHL. Striker regretfully leaves Owens’ side and goes for the cover on NHL, but somehow, NHL is able to roll up Striker with a small package. The ref counts 2 and the surprised Striker kicks out. Striker shoots right back up while NHL struggles to try to get up. Striker opts to start stomping at the mid-section of NHL before locking in an abdominal stretch. Ray Owens limps to his feet and starts kicking away at the exposed midsection of NHL. BUZZ! The next wrestler is suppose to come out, but since NHL jumped the gun. He has TWO MINUTES by himself now! Striker, after a good minute, lets go of the stretch and NHL crumbles to the mat. Ray Owens brings NHL back up off the mat and RAMS his head face first into the steel cage! Owens starts grinding the face of NHL and finally, he draws blood! Striker mounts a now fallen NHL and starts pounding away at the skull of NHL while Owens stands by and watches. BUZZ! Another minute has passed and it’s Johnny Lightning’s turn to emerge from the curtain…BUT "The Sensational” Brian Stevens and Lars Fredrickson, just seconds after Lightning stepped on-stage, emerge and both drop Lightning from behind! Lars has his Cambodian Cane and starts choking Lightning with it while Stevens finally heads to the ring!)
HS: "WHAT!? Again? How can Damage, Inc. get away with this!?”
FJ: "Easily…who is gonna stop them?!”
(Stevens enters the cage and immediately takes out Striker, who was STILL assaulting NHL, with a stiff kick to the back. Owens tries to go after Stevens, but Brian is ready and he dropkicks the weakened knee of the Legend. Owens falls hard and Stevens comes up laughing. Stevens helps NHL to his feet before heading over to Striker and CLOCKING him with a shot to the skull with a steel chair. The referee has seen enough and starts taking the steel chairs out of the ring as we notice Striker is now a bloody mess in the ring! Stevens waits alongside the broken body of Striker, and finally, once he is up, Stevens hit’s the ropes and DRILLS Striker with a Stiff Running Lariat!! Stevens doesn’t go for a cover though, he and a groggy NHL have their sights set on Ray Owens instead! To our right, we see security finally breaking up Lars and Lightning on the outside and a sore Lightning slowly starts heading for the ring…but is it soon enough to save Owens!? Stevens tosses Owens to the ropes and backbody drops him to NHL, who hit’s the Death Shot! NHL covers Owens and Stevens covers Striker…NHL scores a three count, eliminating Owens! Stevens, however, only gets a 2 count as Johnny Lightning is able to make a very surprising save!)
HS: "What a match so far! Ray Owens is out but Johnny Lightning is IN!”
FJ: "The sides are tied! 2 on 2! Damage, Inc. versus The Medics! This one is gonna get messy!”
(NHL and Lightning waste NO TIME and go right after each other, trading lefts and rights at a furious pace! However, while this is happening, Stevens has taken advantage and has brought Striker to his feet only to hit the Ace Crusher! Stevens covers and gets 3! Lightning turns around and sees this, realizing he is too late! This, however, give NHL a golden opportunity to clock Lightning in the back of the skull with a forearm. NHL follows up with a backdrop driver and covers Lightning, but only gets a 2! It’s Stevens turn now, as he brings Lightning up and drives him down HARD with an STO! Stevens follows that up with a series of 4 ultimate knee strikes to the skull of Lightning! Again, Stevens covers but Lightning kicks out!!! Stevens pounds the mat in frustration and tells NHL to get Lightning up. Stevens heads to the top rope and NHL gets Lightning up on his shoulders! Stevens jumps off, looking to hit the Doomsday Ace Crusher, but Lightning leans back and Stevens misses, bouncing his skull off the mat instead! Lightning, still perched on the shoulders of NHL brings all his weight back and DRIVES NHL to the mat with a reverse rana! Lightning covers and gets a shocking 3 count!!!)
HS: "INCREDIBLE! Johnny Lightning just countered one of Damage, Inc.’s pet moves and evened up the sides at 1-1! This is amazing!”
FJ: "What the hell happened!? We had like…4 eliminations all with as many minutes!? This is whack!”
(Lightning and Stevens are both slow to get up, but once they do, they lock eyes and both men now knows what’s at stake! Both men storm center ring and start destroying each other with rights and lefts! No man is giving an inch! However, both men tire…but Lightning, from somewhere, hits an AMAZING discus clothesline! Both men collapse center ring! The ref watches on as there isn’t a ten count in this match. Lightning is the first to his feet but Stevens isn’t far behind! Lightning sends Stevens to the ropes, but Stevens counters the whip and tries sending Lightning to the ropes instead, and AGAIN, Lightning counters, this time taking Stevens head first into the steel cage! Stevens comes up busted open! Lightning brings Stevens up immediately and starts grating the flesh of Stevens on the cage before dropping him with a running bulldog! Lightning goes for a cover and only scores a 2 count. Lightning starts getting a little frustrated as he brings Stevens up and whips him into the corner…however, Stevens counters and sits himself on the top turnbuckle! Lightning chases in and Stevens hit’s a big time leaping Shinning Wizard! Both men are down again! Stevens is finally able to attempt a cover, but only gets 2. Stevens grabs a fork out of his pant pocket and violently snaps on Lightning and starts driving the fork into the forehead of the Tag Team Wrestling Icon! It doesn’t take long for Stevens to bust open Johnny Lightning and once Stevens has drawn blood, he puts the fork back into his pocket!)
HS: "That was just…sickening!”
FJ: "A tribute to Abdullah The Butcher! Outstanding!”
(Stevens brings a now bloody Lightning to his feet and heads to the ropes looking for his springboard reverse DDT, but Lightning was wise to it and counters with a snapmare on the stall! On the turn around, Johnny drops Stevens with a spinning wheel kick! Lightning collapses and both men, bloody and bruised, take a breather. Finally, both men make it to their feet and Stevens retreats to the corner. Lightning follows and punches Stevens in the face and hoists him up to the top turnbuckle. Stevens, however, counters quickly and looks like he is going to hit a Top Rope Ace Crusher…but he stalls! He sees someone! It’s…It’s Travis Gray! Gray is running down the ramp and starts yelling at Stevens. Stevens starts screaming back at Gray and this goes on for a good thirty seconds before Lightning low blows Stevens! Stevens falls off the turnbuckle and Lightning is quick to follow up with a MOONSAULT! Lightning covers and gets a 3 count! Lightning WINS!)
HS: "Yes! Johnny Lightning! A man who has been through hell inside and outside of that ring has won Steel Cage Survival! What a story! What a WIN!”
FJ: "Stevens got screwed AGAIN! And look! Travis Gray is smiling! This is garbage, dude!”
HS: "Yeah, maybe Stevens did get distracted, but Damage, Inc. had it coming! They ruined this match on TWO separate occasions! I say good for The Medics and good for Lightning!”
(Travis Gray enters the ring and Steven Striker and Ray Owens are quick to follow as the come out from the back and they all celebrate with Lightning, who is almost tearing up because of this emotional win!)
(A commercial hits, displaying a five minute Mountain Dew commercial. It's got the traditional Spy vs. Spy going on, but this is a short story commercial. Each Spy is trying to one up the other, but as they are trying to come up with the perfect plan, each one remembers the times that they lost their Mountain Dew. In short, both get blown up by their own traps, and no one wins, as a can of Mountain Dew lies in the epicenter of the explosion.)
FJ: "We have the second most anticipated match for this evening coming up next!"
HS: "The Triple Threat match between John Rourke, "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson, and our AWA World Heavyweight Champion, John Williams. In case you've missed any AWA television recently, let me recap what happened between these three individuals that led them to this end tonight. John Rourke has been picking fights with Jeff Christianson for the past couple of weeks. Jeff Christianson has his eyes set on where he was a year from now. To make this long story short, all three were booked together in what may be their final AWA match ever, and one of the last AWA matches ever."
FJ: "That was very touching, Herb. It brought a tear to me eye."
HS: "You're such a jackass, Frank! Since we might not have a job anymore, I would just like to say that these years with you have been so god damn annoying! I absolutely hate you and your stupid jokes and I hope that one day I pull up in my limo next to your bicycle as you try to pedal your way to a worthless job that doesn't even pay enough to fill your rent!"
FJ: "That was harsh."
HS: "FUCK OFF!"
("Lights Out" By P.O.D. hits the PA system and John Williams comes out surprisingly first with the AWA Championship strapped comfortably around his waist. He has on the "I Bleed AWA" t-shirt and he point to it, showing his undying love and respect for the federation he wrestles in. He starts towards the ring and rolls inside. He removes his AWA Championship and raises it into the air. He removes his t-shirt, to a bunch of cat whistles, and tosses it into the crowd.)
FJ: "...well, it appears that John Williams isn't going to back down from this encounter as he's entering first as opposed to last, as the Champion does at times."
HS: "And you have wonder what's going through his head right now. Since this may be his last AWA match, will he leave as AWA Champ, or will someone else."
FJ: "Tough call. Each of these men could walk away with it, but the odds are against the Anti-AWA coalition, so I would have to say that it could be a Pro-AWA person who wins it."
HS: "Very good Frank, you can do ratios and comparisons."
FJ: "Shut up."
(We see the video begin on the video screen, with the words Jeff Christianson appearing. It goes away to the words 'The Greatest Technical Wrestler to Live' appear. Then the video screen shows various clips from Jeff Christianson's matches and interviews that he's been involved in.)
FJ: "Boy, he's the greatest!"
(Respect My Game by Master P blares over the PA and we fade backstage. We see Jeff Christianson and Paige leave their lockerroom and begin making their way towards the ringside area. We finally see them reach the top of the stage to a chorus of boos from the crowd. They both give a very arrogant smile as the crowd begins to intensely boo them out of the arena. He looks directly at the ring, while walking down the center of the aisle. Paige, He doesn't acknowledge the fans being at the event, never taking his eyes off the ring. Paige on the otherhand, begins teasing the crowd. She walks over to the barricade as if she's going to let a fan touch him, and at the last second she backs up as if to say she's too good for that person. Jeff Christianson now stops at the bottom of the entrance. Paige passes him and walks up the ring stairs, with Jeff Christianson slowly following behind her in his black and white jumpsuit. Jeff Christianson now turns around and spits at the crowd. Paige now holds the middle rope open and tells him to get in the ring. Jeff Christianson gets in the ring. Paige follows by stepping in between the middle rope and the bottom rope. He walks over to his corner and climbs up to the middle rope. He holds both his arms up to even more heat from the crowd. Paige now poses at his side. He then hops down. Paige then gets out of the ring.)
HS: "As the lovely Paige leaves the apron, you can't help but to wonder what's going through her head right now. This could be the very last time we see her, though this could not be."
FJ: "Uncertainties are the devil in disguise. Low will win...he has to."
HS: "Jeff Christianson is looking to recapture the AWA World Heavyweight Championship since not holding it for almost a full year now."
FJ: "Yeah, he wasted it with C-Rock trying to be a cool tag team again."
HS: "No matter what he was doing, Jeff Christianson has come here tonight to fight, that's for damn sure!"
(The guitar intro to "Personal Jesus" by Johnny Cash begins to fill the arena as the entrance way lights die down. Smoke bellows around the entrance ramp and John Rourke steps through the cloud. Masked by the shadows John’s figure is barely visible. There is a single bright flash of pyro and he steps through the smoke. A long light blue towel is draped over his head shield his face from the crowd. He slowly walks to the ring and stops at the apron where he throws the towel aside. John grabs the middle rope and uses it to hop up onto the apron, and then steps through the top and middle ropes. Once in the ring John goes to his corner and lazily leans against the turnbuckle.)
HS: "And here's John Rourke. The first man, I believe, to actually wrestle drunk here in the AWA."
FJ: "I can't remember if there was another person, but even if he wasn't, boy it sure was interesting."
HS: "John Rourke has come here tonight to fight for his right to hold the AWA Championship. The most coveted prize in all of professional wrestling today, which is being held by John Williams, will be fought for in this Triple Threat match, and John Rourke is no child when it comes to these matches."
FJ: "Wait, if Rourke wins and Whisper wins and shuts down the AWA, then will Rourke be the shortest reigning AWA Champion in the history of the AWA?"
HS: "He could be."
FJ: "Fascinating."
(The referee calls for the bell and Williams, Christianson, and Rourke all stand apart from each other. Rourke looks at Williams, and Williams looks back. Rourke tips his head towards Christianson and before Williams can decide to go along with the plan, Christianson comes up and lays out Rourke with a running clothesline. Jeff, sensing a double team, locks up with Williams and nails a hard brainbuster. Rourke grapples Dark Warrior from behind and hits a releasing German suplex. Williams is up from his brainbuster and grabs Christianson's lege, but Jeff won't hear anything of it, and kicks Williams in the face with his free boot. Rourke goes for a stomp on Christianson's head, but misses, and Dark Warrior is up to his feet, kicking Rourke in the stomach and nailing a spinning wheel kick to his face.)
FJ: "Awesome excitement thus far!"
HS: "Yeah, this can go either way in my opinion."
(Williams grabs Jeff from behind and lifts to connect with a belly to back suplex. Williams brings Christianson to his feet and lifts for a powerbomb. Christianson pokes Williams in this eyes and hits a hurricanrana. He grabs Williams' legs for a pin.)
FJ: "Wait, Dark Warrior hit a hurricanrana? AWESOME!"
HS: "Can this be it...so early?"
FJ: "ONE...TWO..- OH! Damn that John Rourke!"
(Rourke spears Christianson off of Williams. The two roll around until Rourke gets the advantage by kneeing Christianson in the groin. Rourke lifts his knees and rams them into the left arm of Christianson. Jeff rips his arm free from Rourke by kicking him straight in the head. As Dark Warrior gets to his feet, John Williams comes back on the scene by clobbering Jeff with a forearm to the head. He follows this up with a side headlock. Rourke gets up and kicks Christianson in the stomach and then hits a DDT. Rourke goes for the cover, but Williams sees differently and winds his leg back and swings it straight forward. When it connects to Rourke, he litterally flies about three feet.)
FJ: "Holy cow! Did you see the distance that John traveled?"
HS: "Yes I did, Frank. You see, I have two things called eyes, and they are glued onto this match right now."
FJ: "Well sorrrry! You don't have to be a dick about it!"
(Christianson sits up and small packages Williams before he can start to attack Rourke. The referee gets only a one count as Williams kicks out quickly. Jeff and John are locked in a collar and elbow, with each one trying to get the upper hand. Then, we see Rourke get up, he crawls behind Williams, and hits a low blow! Williams drops to one foot, and that gives the master technician his opportunity to strike! Christianson puts Williams' head between his legs and hits a nasty piledriver. Rourke runs towards Christianson, who is unaware of that, and jumps into the air and just kicks Christianson out of his boots.)
HS: "That will leave you with a funny feeling in the morning."
FJ: "Fo sho!"
(Rourke waits until Christianson gets to his feet then he runs towards him from behind and nails a bulldog. He hops up to the top rope to do a high risk move, but he quickly falls to the top turnbuckle, then down to the mat below. The reason? John Williams bounced off the ropes. Tough break for Rourke. Williams picks up Rourke and hits the Lights Out on him.)
FJ: "Damn, he means business!"
HS: "Williams is going for the cover here!"
(ONE...TWO..- Christianson makes the break. Williams gets up and the two lock up, with the broken Rourke lying right next to them. Williams punches Christianson straight to the throat. Jeff starts to cough, trying to breathe better, but that's all the distraction Williams needs. He grabs Christianson and hits a hard back breaker. But, he's not done there. Williams goes for his patented Spinal Alignment and nails about three more backbreakers, each one more devastating to Christianson's condition that the one prior. He picks up Christianson from the mat, but Jeff whips Williams into ropes. Christianson turns around and bounces off the ropes, but Williams grabbed the ropes on firt contact, so he's just waiting. He walks to the middle of the ring, but Jeff sees this, so he sprouts out a cross body! Williams catches Jeff and spoils the move. John falls backwards and hits a fallaway slam on poor Christianson.)
FJ: "Such great action!"
HS: "Yeah, some of the best tonight!"
(Logan Alexander ran down the entrance ramp and slid into the ring. He moved in behind Christianson, and delivered a low blow to him.)
FJ: "What a cheap shot!"
HS: "Logan Alexander hits a low blow to Christianson, staggering the challenger."
(Logan rose up quickly, grabbed hold of Christianson around the head and executed an inverted DDT.)
HS: "Christianson goes down."
(Rising up again, Logan grabbed hold of John Rourke, and whipped him into the ropes. When Rourke came back, Logan used a drop toehold on him. Rourke fell forward and unintentionally connected with a headbutt to the groin of Christianson.)
FJ: "Rourke just hit a cheap shot! This is so unfair!"
HS: "You weren’t minding this stuff earlier."
FJ: "But it wasn’t our will-be World Champion getting beaten on earlier!"
(Logan picked Rourke up off the mat then hit him with the Stryke Force, then picked Christianson up from the mat, hoisted him into a fireman’s carry, then dropped him back to the mat with the Omega Stryke.)
HS: "Both challengers have been laid out. This is a huge opening for the champion."
(Logan glanced around the ring, then slid out of the ring and hopped over the barricade, making his way out through the crowd.)
FJ: "And now John Williams just waits for Jeff to get up...insane!!!"
(Williams waits for Christianson to get up to his feet and regain his bearings, all the while, Rourke is lying out cold on the mat. Williams and Dark Warrior lock up again. John Williams gets the upper hand on Dark Warrior and pushes him into the corner. He starts to nail some knife edge chops on the chest of Christianson, but after a few Jeff ducks and moves Williams into the corner and does the same, chopping away on Williams' chest. Christianson steps away and motions for Williams to come to him, but Rourke is there to cradle Christianson to the mat. Before a one can come off, Jeff's already broken out of it. Rourke ducks under a boot by Williams and grabs his left leg. With this vantage, he lifts up and kicks Williams to the gut from the mat, then as Williams bends down, he hits him with a straight shot to the face.)
HS: "What a great match up here. I'm glad to see that Rourke is still in this one."
FJ: "It doesn't matter to me. As long as someone leaves in an ambulance, I'm leaving a happy man."
HS: "You're sick."
FJ: "No, I actually feel fine tonight."
(Christianson grabs the ankle of Rourke and starts to rip and tear at the ankle in his pantented ankle lock. Christianson doesn't have it grapevined, but he still has the upper hand as he hears Rourke cry out in pain and agony. As Christianson starts to move for the grapevine, Williams comes out of nowhere and boots Christianson in the side of the head. Williams pins Rourke...ONE...TWO..- Christianson makes the save, but Rourke was kicking out as well. Rourke rolls out of the way, but Christianson sees this and resumes his anklelock on Rourke from before. While this is going on, he grabs Williams' ankle and actually gets two anklelocks going at once. Both ankles are in the grasp of Christianson's left arm, and the right arm is twisting the ankles out of their original, comfortable positions. Rourke is about to tap out, but Williams rips a punch right into the face of Rourke, knocking him silly for a little bit. Williams uses this to his advantage and spins around, countering the move and then he kicks off Jeff's hold.)
FJ: "That was the most awesome thing I've ever seen! Two ankles in one ankle lock? I never knew it was even possible!"
HS: "That Jeff Christianson is one hell of a technical wrestler and he's constantly switching things up to excite the fans of his matches. Plus, if this is his last match, I think he'll pull out all the stops. "
FJ: "True."
(Christianson gets to his feet, but it's not enough, because from behind, John Williams comes out, swings around, and nails an implant DDT. Williams gets up and pins Rourke...ONE...TWO.- Christianson is there to break it up.)
FJ: "Even after a harsh DDT, he's still there to break up a pinfall."
HS: "Amazing."
FJ: "Are you?"
HS: "...uh..."
FJ: "Don't answer that, it's rhetorical."
(Jeff gets to his feet, spins around, and connects with a bad heel kick into Williams' head. Jeff looks down at Rourke, smiles, and then he grabs the probably shattered ankle from before. As Jeff locks this in, Rourke starts to scream in agony. Jeff is up to his feet, twisting and cranking the ankle. Rourke starts to crawl towards the ropes. Jeff supports the movement by moving with him, but all the while, applying more pressure. As Rourke is about to grab the bottom rope, Christianson pulls him away and into the center of the ring. Jeff drops to one knee, but still applies the pressure. Rourke cries out, trying his every attempt to not tap out. Rourke spins around and flips Christianson over his head, but Dark Warrior keeps his death grip on the foot of Rourke and keeps that same pressure on that sore ankle.)
HS: "That ankle will pop any minute."
FJ: "And I will be able to witness the end of another great career. Serves him right!"
HS: "You're so sick."
FJ: "I keep telling you I feel fine. Geez."
(Jeff drops to the mat and grapevines the hold. Now Rourke is in trouble. If he cannot get to the ropes soon enough, he will be done fore. Rourke screams out, pulls himself up by his arms and tries to drag Dark Warrior with him as he tries to make it to the ropes. Rourke suddenly drops to the mat and his expressions start to fade a little. With every passing heartbeat, Rourke's resolve gets weaker and weaker. The referee picks up Rourke's arm and drops it. *THUD* The referee picks up...)
HS: "...his arm again. It's dropped. If it drops this last time, Rourke has lost the match, along with John Williams. His title reign will be over, short, but over, and Jeff Christianson will bring in the new year as the AWA Champion."
(The referee starts to pick up the arm for a third try. The hold breaks for some reason. The camera looks up and we see that John Williams has baseball slid into Jeff's face, effectively breaking the hold. Williams looks at Rourke and pins him...)
FJ: "...ONE...TWO...THREE!"
(As the hand is going down for three, Christianson jumps on top of Williams to break the hold, but the hand of the referee has already hit the mat. Jeff was too late.)
HS: "Oh my gosh! John Williams escapes this match with the title he walked in with. Just barely, as he piggybacked this win off of Jeff's almost successful knock out of John Rourke!"
FJ: "Blasphemy! This is an outrage! I feel cheated here!"
(We cut to a final commercial, featuring AWA merchandise available at the AWA Shop. Replica belts, t-shirts, DVDs, pictures, and posters are among the ones available now.)
HS: "It's been one crazy night, Frank. But, now, here is where it is all decided."
(We cut to the back where Larry Porter is standing with the 49% owner of the AWA, the eight-time World Heavyweight Champion Low.)
LP: "AWA fans, I am standing here with The Legendary Low, who in just a few moments is going to take on Whisper for the survival of this very company that all of us call our home. Low, how does it feel?"
LOW: "How does it feel, Larry? How does it feel? How does WHAT feel, Larry? Knowing that this might very well be the last time I walk that aisle? Knowing that I am going to face a very capable opponent? Knowing that tonight my destiny decides the destiny of the company that I've carried on my back for five years? Knowing that tonight everything might come to an end?"
"Well, how do you think it feels?"
LP: "Depressing?"
LOW: "You`re damn right it's depressing. Keiko Ono, she has ended up only playing a minor part in all this, but don't be fooled – this woman, with her 2%, weilds a lot of power. Oh, I know I haven`t been as visible as I should have been these past few weeks. But Larry, believe me, owning so much of this company is a job that sucks. Therefore, if I win..."
"...WHEN I win..."
"I am going to invite Travis Gray into MY ring, I will hand him the papers and he is going to sign the contract that can make him 98% owner of the AWA again."
LP: "Did you talk to him as you said you would to work out a deal?"
(Low grins.)
LOW: "Let's just say Travis Gray and Low are not that far apart when it comes to numbers."
"The bottom line is this – Whisper, I don't lose inside a cage. Oh sure, there was an instance or two, but there is an exception to every rule, and Low is no different as far as that goes. I am going to outwrestle you, I will outbrawl you, hell, if I need, I will outbleed you and I will walk out of the cell the winner of the war. And I am sure that just like Brian Williams, you won't be able to accept it for the next year, but buddy, learn to live with it, because it's a fact."
LP: "The fate of the AWA rests on this men's shoulders. And in just a few moments, we will find out whether Larry Porter is going to have a merry Christmas... or will be out of a job come 2006."
(The Doors' "The End" begins to play as a video starts going back in time to June 2005, King Of The Kage to be exact. We see Low and Whisper battling it out in the semi-finals, with Whisper winning and advancing to the tournament finals, and then holding the World title belt. We then move on to AWA Classic 2005, one of the greatest shows in AWA history, headlined by a 60-minutes plus Iron Man Match between Low and Whisper, which Low won by submission to win his eighth AWA World Heavyweight title. We then move forward to Overpower, where the Low-Whisper-Andreas Lasiewicz match is interrupted by several other wrestlers, ending in a no-contest and leading to a steel cage match. However, only Low and Lasiewicz ended up in that match and in the end were both attacked and handcuffed to the cage by Whisper. We then move on to Last Man Standing, where it was revealed that Keiko Ono was owning 2% of the AWA, while Low and Whisper each owned 49%. After a few more action sequences between the two, we cut back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, for the past six months, Low and Whisper have been feudingover who was the better wrestler, over tournament spots, over the World title. But this is the brawl to end it all, the match that is about more than individual pride. This match will be about the fate of the entire AWA."
FJ: "Or maybe it will soon be the LWA. It't not as if Whisper has broad support among the troops."
HS: "That's for sure."
(The entrance way begins filling with smoke. The screen lights up with static. The lights drop to blue and a drum beat starts with various other instruments. Finger Eleven's "The Last Scene of Struggling" is the song. As the lyrics starts, images start appearing on the screen, replacing the static... the words are quick... The images are of various destructions... pictures of war... nazi marches... 9/11 pictorials... people crying... burned... dying...)
The static grows...
And kills the message...
Unclear as the wind blows...
Thin whispers through all the wreckage...
You said you planned to fail...
Looking so safe but sorry...
So be sure to bang the nail...
And seal the exit out!
(There is a scream in the background of the song echoing "out". The images on the screen are cycling faster and faster.)
Feel the way...
(Another scream, this one with a blast of wind from backstage, blowing the smoke outward. On that same gust of wind comes Whisper. The image on the screen is the classic image of the atomic bomb exploding. It flashes the word "Whisper".)
Through your Revelation...
(Whisper walks out of the smoke with a purposed-filled stride. Halfway down the ramp, he drops the trenchcoat off his back. He reaches the apron and climbs to the outside of the ropes. He pauses to look around at the arena, then climbs in.)
HS: "Whisper has been one of the most formidable wrestlers over the past two years. Through smart business decisions he has increased his wealth and his standing in the world of professional wrestling. In June, he became the World Heavyweight Champion. In October, he bought almost half of the company. Should he win tonight, he has vowed to close the AWA down."
("Drink New Blood" by Iggy Pop begins to play and multi-colored lights flash all over the arena and go wilder as the song itself goes wilder. The fans erupt in cheers as Low comes out from the back, walking down the ramp with a purpose. He slides into the ring and stares at Whisper.)
HS: "One of the most despised men in this company's history is now our final hope. In his first match since Last Man Standing, Low tries to save the company he has helped build for the past five years. He has sacrificed his career as an active wrestler for this. He has sacrificed his personal financial well-being for this. And most importantly, he has sacrificed the World Heavyweight title for this."
(The music dies down as Low and Whisper meet in the middle of the ring. The two just stare at each other as the fans chant for Low. The lights dim and an ominous music begins to play as the Cell is being lowered from Madison Square Garden's ceiling.)
HS: "Low has only lost inside a cage on two occasions – Summer Shootout 2001 against Jack Happy and Hell On Earth 2004 against Brian Williams. Drake Hyde, Jack Happy, The Fish, Brian Williams, Andreas Lasiewicz, Low has beaten them all inside a cage. And tonight he is doing it in front of HIS crowd."
(The Cell has finally lowered and the referee calls for the bell. Low and Whisper keep staring at each other as the anticipation inside the Garden builds and builds. Suddenly, Low tackles Whisper to the ground and starts pounding him. Whisper, though, gets his arms up and blocks Low's uncontrolled shots to the head. Low pulls Whisper up and Irish whips him into the corner. He charges, but Whisper gets his feet up and Low staggers back a few steps. Whisper then jumps up and hits a beautiful huracanrana on Low. He runs at Low and prepares for another quick attack, but Low ducks and backdrops Whisper over the top rope and out of the ring.)
FJ: "Get back in, Whisper, come on, get away from the Cell."
HS: "I don't think he can!"
(Low is immediately following Whisper to the outside and grabs him by the blue hair. He starts smashing Whisper's head into the cage, again and again, until Whisper finally lands an elbow into Low's midsection. Whisper the whips Low against the steel steps, who come tumbling down with a loud thud. Whisper starts working over Low's arm and shoulder by repeatedly kicking it, but Low regains the upper hand with a blow right to Whisper's groin, as Whisper slumps to his knees.)
FJ: "That's unfair!"
HS: "It`s Hell In A Cell, Frank. NOTHING is unfair in this type of match. Besides, Low will do anything to wrestle the 49% away from Whisper."
(Low now hooks both his middle fingers in the sides of Whisper's mouth, pulling back as we see a bit of blood pouring from Whisper's lips. Not releasing the fish hook, Low now presses Whisper's face against the Cell again and just rakes his face across the mesh, walking him around the ring. As Low finally releases the fish hook, Whisper's forehead has turned into something looking like raw meat, blood pouring down his face. Low then whips Whisper against the ring steps himself, and Whisper is holding his own shoulder now.)
FJ: "An eye for an eye, huh?"
HS: "Low Standard. All-Time Low. 'Nuff said."
(Low now wraps Whisper's arm around the ring post and slams it against it, then pulls Whisper toward him and sending him head first against the post. Whisper now starts climbing the Cell, apparently trying to use his acrobatic skills to set up an attack. Low, however, just walks a few steps around the ring and then reaches under the apron. As he looks up, though, Whisper comes Spider Man-like off the Cell and nails Low with a dropkick. Both men are now down on the mat outside of the ring.)
FJ: "Whisper should get whatever Low was searching for off of Low."
HS: "Some fast early action here, and Whisper is already busted wide open."
(Whisper is the first man back up. He grabs Low by the ears and pulls him up as well, but suddenly Low sprays something into Whisper's eyes and Whisper screams in pain.)
FJ: "It's a can of yellow spray paint."
HS: "And Low has recently called Whisper out for being yellow! Coincidence? I think not."
FJ: "We should get some EMTs down there, Whisper might just lose his sight permanently."
(Whisper is holding his eyes and still screaming, as some yellow mixes up with his blood, but Low doesn't allow him to recover. He reaches under the ring again and pulls out three pairs of handcuffs. He procedes to cuff Whisper to the Cell, first the right arm, then left arm, before wrapping one pair of cuffs around Whisper's neck to cuff him face first against the Cell.)
FJ: "Somebody do something about this. There has to be an authority with the powet to stop this."
HS: "Low and Whisper ARE the authorities. And Keiko Ono probably loves this. Also, remember the end of the Lasiewicz-Low cage match?"
FJ: "That was different."
HS: "How so?"
FJ: "It was Whisper doing the deed!"
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(Low is raking Whisper's head across the cage again. As more blood pours down Whisper's face, the New York crowd chants 'Let's go, Low! Let's go, Low!' He then takes the spray paint and paints a big yellow stripe down Whisper`s back.)
HS: "Go YelLow!"
FJ: "Funny, Herb, really funny. Whisper could be choked to death here!"
(Low reaches under the ring yet again, this time retrieving a Singapore cane. He takes a swing and nails Whisper right across the back, as the fans ooooh and aaaaaah. He takes a second swing... the a third one... a fourth one... and a fifth one, before dropping the cane and raising his arms. The fans cheer even louder as the camera focuses on the welts and bruises and lacerated skin and blood on Whisper's back. Low then pulls a small key out of his pants and unlocks the handcuffs, as Whisper just drops to the ground.)
FJ: "This isn't a wrestling match."
HS: "You're right, it's a fight for control of the company."
(Low rolls an almost limp Whisper back into the ring. As he celebrates with the MSG crowd, he picks up Whisper's legs and goes for the Low Profile, but suddenly, Whisper throws a fireball at Low that seems to connect and Low drops to the mat, holding his face in his hands and screaming in pain.)
FJ: "YES!"
HS: "What a fireball! Whisper himself still can't seem to be able to see, but he still knew when and how to strike."
(Both men are on the mat, holding their faces or rubbing their eyes, as the referee observes the scene. Of course, this being Hell In A Cell, he doesn't start a count or anything. After close to a minute, Whisper is the first one to rise. He still seems to be blinded, however, as he crawl across the mat, slapping it in hopes of finding Low. He finally does and gets up to one knee, then to his feet, before trying to pull Low up as well. He then hooks Low's head between his legs, hooks his arms and hits the Eavesdrop.)
FJ: "The Eavesdrop! Whisper can still take this home."
(Whisper drapes one arm across Low's chest and the referee counts 1..... 2..... NO! The MSG crowd explodes as Low kicks out. Whisper seems to be livid, as he yells at the referee, but the referee just waves his hand in front of his face in a familiar pose...)
CROWD: "You can't see me!"
(As Whisper yells at the referee, Low uses the ropes to pull himself back up. He runs at Whisper and goes for a lariat, but Whisper seems to have a sixth sense and ducks. Low, though, holds on to Whisper and applies a crossface-chicken wing, setting Whisper up for the Low Standard.)
HS: "Low Standard!"
FJ: "Nobody has ever gotten out of the Low Standard!"
(Whisper, however, holds on to dear life to fight out of the Low Standard, but Low is finally able to take him down and apply the hold. The referee is right in Whisper's face, asking him if he wants to tap out. Suddenly, the fans' loud cheers turn into even louder boos as Keiko Ono makes her way down the ramp, a steel chair in her hand. She pulls a key out of her jacket's pocket and unlocks the Cell's door, sliding into the ring. But before she can even lift the chair to nail Low with it, Low releases the Low Standard, kicks Ono and hits the Low Stunner.)
HS: "Listen to these fans! They are going ballistic!"
(Low picks up Ono and puts her on his shoulder, carrying her out of the Cell. He just drops her on the ramp, returns into the Cell and locks the door behind him, handing the key to a front row fan. Just as he returns into the ring, though, TWACK! Whisper nails him with the chair and Low drops to the mat like a tree.)
FJ: "Just barely, but I think Whisper has regained some of his sight."
HS: "And Keiko Ono ended up costing Low the win AND the advantage here."
(Whisper now pulls Low towards the corner and leans him against the turnbuckles. He then gets out of the ring and starts climbing the ropes.)
FJ: "He is going for the Eavesdrop... the BIG one!"
(And indeed, Whisper starts pulling Low up there as well, hooking his head between his legs once again. But just before he grabs both of Low's arms, Low arm shoots up and he hits another low blow, doubling Whisper over on the top rope. Low then elevates himself, grabs Whisper's head and hits the Low Stunner OFF THE ROPES!)
HS: "Super Low Stunner!"
(The crowd erupts in a 'Holy shit!' chant as Low covers Whisper and gets 1..... 2..... 3! Low win.)
HS: "He's done it! He's done it! Low now owns 98% of the AWA and has saved its very existence!"
(The crowd cheers as fireworks go off and confetti starts raining through MSG. The referee raises Low's arm as Whisper rolls out of the ring. "Drink New Blood" begins to play as Low realizes that he won and starts to celebrate with the crowd.)
FJ: "Blah..."
(We can briefly see Frank throwing his headset onto his table.)
HS: "Low has saved the AWA! They say happy endings only happen in movies. If that is the case, then I am seeing the greatest damn move I've ever seen."
(Low nods and smiles as Travis Gray makes his way down the ramp. The ringside fan hands him the key and he enters the Cell. He shakes Low's hand, then hugs him and raises his arm, both men with big smiles on their faces. Gray reaches into his jacket and pulls out a pen and piece of paper. Gray and Low smile and nod at each other as Gray hands the paper to Low.)
HS: "Low has alluded to the job of being an AWA owner not really being fun to him, and he said from the beginning that he has done this to save the AWA from Whisper. But now, more than two years after losing control of the company to Mortis Valley after years of bad decisions, after men such as Ted Goldstein, George Slater, Dave Santini, Lethal Louise, Keiko Ono, Low, Whisper, and a board of directors getting into power struggles, we will finally have some much needed stability again."
(Low unfolds the paper and a still nodding Gray hands him the pen. Low is about to sign when suddenly... his smile turns into a stare and he shakes his head!)
HS: "WHAT THE---?"
(His music dies down and Gray has a look of shock and confusion on his face. The fans seem to be equally confused as to what is happening and they start booing as Low just stares at Travis Gray... and the scene fades to black.)
