(We go into the sold-out GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Many pro-Canadian wrestlers signs are shown, supporting Brian and John Williams, Low, Jeff Christianson and Mortis Valley. The pyros go off and after enjyoing them for a while we join our announcer Herb Summers and Frank Jackson.)
HS: "AWA Shock and Xplosion present AWA Vortex, and for the very last time I am going to announce alongside my beloved colleague, Frank Jackson."
FJ: "Herb, I can't help but hear a little bit of sarcasm in your voice."
HS: "You think so? Fans, AWA Vortex is packed. We will have four title matches tonight, including two World title matches."
FJ: "The Legendary Low defends against The Fish in a steel cage match and..."
HS: "...and Brian Williams defends against Adam Bawm. Also, The Blueprint explodes as Dave Santini and Jeff Chrisianson will square off in a Taipei death match. Jayson Price and Poppa will take on Bryan Peek."
FJ: "Anyway, as you said Herb, Vortex is packed and we will go to our opening contest immediately."
("The Godfather Theme" by Nino Rota begins to play throughout the arena. The lights in the arena dim and start to take on a rather eerie red glow as smoke begins to flow down the entrance ramp. Vitto Vincenzio walks through the smoke as it begins to form into a thick cloud at the top of the entrance ramp. A pair of unknown women walk up behind him wearing skintight black latex hot pants, skin tight wife beaters and black knee high boots. Vitto Vincenzio and the two women begin their walk down to the ring. Vitto Vincenzio stops at the ring and climbs up staircase at ringside and waits for the women to follow. Both women hold the ropes for Vitto Vincenzio to enter. Vitto Vincenzio slides through the ropes before the women follow behind. He signals for the music to cut and awaits his opponents.)
HS: "I had the pleasure of enjoying those two ladies’ company just last night, and must I say, I’ve never been happier that you were gone, Frank."
FJ: "I hate you, Frank."
(After "Won’t Back Down" hits, Jachob and Rhiannon come out, holding hands. Jachob twirls her around on the stage then lets go of her hand and runs down and slides into the ring. Rhiannon catches up and takes her place at ringside as Jachob raises his arms to the crowd in the far corner. Vitto looks on intently, measuring his opponent.)
HS: "Jachob Rayne also appeared on Shock last night in a very impressive victory over Jacques A’Mer. This kid has got a lot of athleticism and enthusiasm!"
FJ: "That’s so disgusting, Herb."
("Feel" by Matchbox 20 takes over and Evan Spire appears at the top of the ramp. Evan makes no bones about his entrance and is swiftly in the ring offering both Vitto and Jachob and open hand... in friendship? Vitto declines with a sneer, but Jachob gladly joins hands with Spire. Seeing that Spire is serious, Vitto too shakes his hand. However, he is reluctant to let go and, right before he does, he offers an ominous wink to Spire and Rayne.)
FJ: "See, pure bred disgust. They would never get away with something like this on Shock!"
HS: "There isn’t a damn thing wrong with showing a little respect for one another. You should try it sometime. Maybe then you wouldn’t be wearing that Icy/Hot patch on your back!"
FJ: "I told you to stop mentioning that!"
(Referee Justin Marshal calls the three men together and lays down the law for the match. He sends each man to his corner and calls for the bell.)
HS: "AND HERE WE GO!"
(Rayne charges Evan Spire but is instantly pulled into an Irish whip to Spire's nearest corner. The recoil stuns Rayne and as he staggers backwards into the ring, turning around, he is slammed by a leaping roundhouse kick that sends him from the ring.)
HS: "That kick send Rayne clear over the ropes! Evan Spire is serious tonight!"
FJ: "So much for friendship. Now this is something I can enjoy."
(Behind the action Vitto Vincenzio has picked up momentum from hitting the ropes and connects with an elbow smash clothesline that catches Evan by surprise. Rayne is slowly pulling himself back into the ring as Evan tries to get to his feet while blocking a hailstorm of forearm smashes from Vincenzio. Evan manages to roll clear, coming up just as Rayne himself is getting to his own feet. Rayne, from seemingly nowhere, lunges out with a super kick aimed for Spire’s skull The kick is ducked an Vitto Vincenzio takes the super kick to the chin that had Spire's name on it.)
HS: "Vitto was just nailed with a misfired super kick! Just listen to that impact!"
FJ: "Well, he certainly pulled that out of no where?"
(The replay is shown and Vitto collapses to his arse in the corner; Jachob and Evan square off. Evan again takes the fury of blows this time in the form of closed fist after closed fist from Rayne. Evan lunges forward and manages to grapple around Jachob's waist and the two men fall against the ropes. The referee is quickly in there and forcefully parts them issuing both wrestlers with a warning for illegal rope use.)
HS: "Oh come one, ref, let them wrestle."
FJ: "Hey, now, he’s just doing his job. Our Xplosion wrestlers wouldn’t have to cheat like that."
HS: "Oh, no, Low has never once cheated before, right?"
FJ: "Not since he’s been on Xplosion!"
HS: "He hasn’t even competed yet!"
FJ: "Exactly."
(Evan steps clear and as Jachob steps away too. Evan then grabs Rayne's right arm and locks in a half Nelson; Rayne is guided around the ring like a puppet, trying to free himself. He tries to pull away as the lock is tightened applying more strain on Jachob's shoulder, forcing him to drop to the mat. But the rookie back rolls and comes up behind Spire, somehow reversing the hold. It's too late for Spire as he is taken skyward into German suplex.)
HS: "GERMAN SUPLEX! What a reversal by Jachob Rayne! I told you this kid was athletic."
FJ: "He must not be too great, these Canadians are cheering."
(Rayne makes the cover and referee Justin Marshall slides in quickly, but only gets a count of ONE! before Evan Spire kicks out. Rayne gets to his feet, pulling Spire with him. Evan is still in Jachob's grip as he takes a kick to his gut. Rayne locks it in a headlock and snaps a DDT, driving Spire down hard into the mat.)
HS: "A DDT... and Rayne has all the momentum going for him here."
FJ: "That must’ve hurt, Herb. I like hurt."
HS: "And a cover, it could all be over!"
(Rayne pins Evan again; Justin Marshal counts ONE!... TWO!... Spire gets a shoulder clear and Jachob is denied the three-count over Evan Spire.)
HS: "Evan Spire has a lot of heart and it’s going to take more than a well time DDT to keep him down."
FJ: "Darn, and for a moment there, I thought it was finally over."
(Vitto Vincenzio decides to intervene, moving in on the prone Jachob. He rakes his eyes and Rayne rolls away screaming. Vitto sees the still incapacitated Evan Spire and continues on him; using his boot Vitto delivers a bootlace eye rake to Evan Spire.)
FJ: "I like this guy’s style; he is street."
HS: "Frank, you live in a two story house in the suburbs, what the hell do you know about street?"
FJ: "That on my note card here, it says Vitto is street."
HS: "Oh."
(Vitto steps over Spire and grabs Jachob by his hair pulling him back into the middle of the ring. Vitto looks like he's about to take Jachob down with a Hair pull slam but Jachob counters with a bull rush shoulder tackle, taking both of them clear across the ring and into ropes. Jachob rolls clear as Vitto uses the momentum to sprint across the ring into the opposite ropes. Vitto ducks a clothesline from Rayne and the back-and-forth continues. Jachob Rayne tries the clothesline again but this time Vitto Vincenzio has it scouted and twists the limb into an arm wringer! Rayne tries to lean in with the hold but Vitto only tightens his grip, applying more strain on Jachob’s already damaged shoulder.)
HS: "Vitto apparently has some technical skills as well, and he’s done a fine job to this point of mixing his rugged style with it."
FJ: "He’s the complete package, Herb. Why the hell wasn’t he sent to Xplosion?"
HS: "Can’t you just commentate on the match and stop worrying about how much better Shock is than Xplosion?"
FJ: Ok... hey, wait a minute..."
(Vitto forces Rayne to a knee and then drops to the mat for an arm breaker. Rayne rolls away trying to protect and nurse the damaged shoulder from Vitto. But this is in vain as Vincenzio grabs Rayne by the arm and jerks him to his feet violently before sending Rayne back to the canvas with a short arm clothesline.)
FJ: "Look at the force he uses. He is so much larger than the other two, he’s just dominating this match."
HS: "Speaking of the other!"
(Vitto is denied the chance to pin the dropped Jachob Rayne as Evan Spire suddenly takes out Vitto from behind with a flip over neck breaker, momentarily stunning Italian.)
HS: "You just can’t forget about Evan Spire in a match like this! A man with Vitto’s in ring experience should have known better."
FJ: "C’Mon, Herb, give the guy a break, nobody’s perfect... except Dave Santini."
(Evan looks like he landed harder than he anticipated and is in pain. Vitto is sent 6 o'clock through 12 o'clock like a Highland caber and bounces at least twice when he hits the mat. Even as Evan manages to get to his knees Jachob uses his good arm to fell Spire with a clothesline! Jachob takes a moment as he looks down at both Evan spire and Vitto Vincenzio.)
HS: "What is Jachob planning to do here?"
(He lines up a shot... and nails Evan Spire with a leg drop across Spire's throat.)
FJ: "Wow, now that was a move I can sink my teeth into."
(Rayne rolls away and seems to be stalking both men now as the struggle to get back up.)
HS: "Rayne is getting ready to something big here."
FJ: "What could it be?"
HS: "Wow, Frank, you actually seem to be enjoying this match."
FJ: "Ye... wait, no, boooooo!"
(Evan Spire gets to his knees as Vitto pulls himself up onto one knee. It is Evan Spire who is up first, but is blindsided by Rayne's hurricanrana that rolls Evan from the ring.)
HS: "What a move by Rayne! This kid has got a bright future on Shock!"
FJ: "Herb, NO ONE has a bright future on Shock."
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(Jachob seems to be fired up now as Vitto Vincenzio is gutted by a diving head butt from the floor. Jachob seems to be stunned from the dive and is not able to immediately capitalize. Evan uses the opportunity to re-enter the ring and slam the back of Jachob's head with a pummeling forearm smash. Evan manages to pull Rayne to his feet but Evan still looks to be groggy from Rayne's hurricanrana, and the next forearm doesn't have as much power. However, the damage is done. Evan pulls back with a sudden burst of speed hauling Rayne to the middle of the ring where Jachob Rayne is sent skyward from a release German suplex. Spire falls to one knee from exhaustion.)
HS: "GERMAN SUPLEX... this time it’s Spire landing one on Jachob Rayne!"
FJ: "Did you see how hard his head hit the mat? Let’s show the fans again."
(The fans react to the replay as Rayne’s head bounces hard off the mat.)
HS: "Ouch..."
(Vitto sees an opportunity and dives across the ring, grabbing Rayne’s and applying a half Nelson. Referee Justin Marshal slides in to wait for a 'tap-out' but Vitto is not finished. He picks himself and Rayne up, locks in the full Nelson tighter and drops Rayne in a full Nelson DDT.)
FJ: "Haha, you’re little athletic one can’t catch a break here! He’s being pummeled now by both men."
HS: "My, Vitto Vincenzio is certainly the opportunist."
(Vitto sees Evan Spire getting back to his feet and decides to abort his pin on Jachob Rayne. He moves in on Evan with purpose and lands a stiff kick to Spire’s stomach. Evan is locked into a Vincenzio reverse headlock but somehow manages to twist his head around, countering a reverse DDT from Vitto. Vitto realizes this much too late as Evan Spire launches Vincenzio into a Tiger suplex.)
HS: "Evan Spire just pulled off an amazing reversal! This kid never gives up. No wonder these fans love him so much."
FJ: "It’s good to know SOMEONE does, even if they’re only Canadians."
(Seeing the groggy Jachob now at his feet, Evan charges. Rayne, though, is playing possum and scoop slams Evan Spire into the corner. Rayne is now after Vitto, pulling him to his feet and the scoop slam sends another man to the mat.)
HS: "And suddenly Jachob Rayne is in the driver’s seat. This match is wild."
FJ: "OK, I admit it, this match IS entertaining. Well, as entertaining as a Shock brand match could be."
HS: "I’ll accept that as the best I could get from you."
FJ: "And it is, Herb. And it is."
(Rayne goes for the cover and referee Justin Marshal slides in for the count. "One!" The fans join in "Two!"
Evan breaks the count by stomping on the back of Jachob's head.)
HS: "Whoa, I thought it was over there. Evan Spire makes sure that doesn’t happen."
(Evan keeps raining down his boot on Jachob backing him into a corner where he uses his boot and the ropes to boot choke Jachob's throat. Evan is disrupted, however, by Vitto and is doubled over by a kick. Vitto doesn't take time and fells Spire with a double axe handle. Spire drops to his knees where Vitto pulls him down with a modified face buster. Vitto rolls Evan Spire.)
FJ: "The Italian covers!"
(One!)
HS: "It could all be over!"
(Two!)
FJ: "It is, it is! IT’S OVER, VITTO WINS!"
(The ref rolls clear.)
HS: "Wait a minute?"
FJ: "What the hell is going on?"
(Vitto keeps the pin on past the point of the Three! He looks up in bemusement only to find Justin Marshal pointing to Evan Spire’s foot firmly resting on the nearby bottom rope. Vitto screams out his frustration as he rolls away.)
HS: "Evan Spire showed great ring awareness there. This kid just won’t go down! Oh, but Vitto does!"
FJ: "AH!"
(While Vitto is arguing with the referee, Jachob Rayne sneaks up behind him and lifts him up onto his shoulders with a Fireman’s carry.)
HS: "Jachob Rayne is going to finish it here! He’s calling for the Rayne of Terror!"
FJ: "The whosawhat now?"
(The fans begin to cheer as Jachob tries to toss the large Vitto into the Michinoku driver. But Vitto contorts his body so that he flies off of Rayne’s shoulders and lands on his feet behind him. Vitto then shoves Rayne forward into the waiting arms of Evan Spire, who quickly lands a diamond cutter.)
HS: "THE DISCONNECT! EVAN JUST NAILED THE DISCONNECT!"
FJ: "Where the hell did THAT come from?"
(Evan thinks about pinning, but wisely focuses on a surprised Vitto. He knees Vitto in the gut and then wraps his arm behind Vitto’s head.)
HS: "HERE COMES ANOTHER ONE!"
FJ: "No, Vitto counters!"
(Vitto shoves Evan into the ropes, interrupting the Disconnect. Evan is highly confused and is unable to stop Vitto from wrapping his two large hands around Evan’s own throat. A moment later, Evan Spire is out cold on the mat from a double choke slam.)
FJ: "THE ITALIAN JOB!"
HS: "VITTO COVERS... THIS COULD ALL BE OVER!"
(Vitto covers tightly and the fans scream in excitement as the referee counts ONE!... TWO!... THREE!)
HS: "No, Rayne saves the pin!"
FJ: "No, no, the referee is declaring that Vitto has just won!"
HS: "Oh, Jachob Rayne was just a second too late and Spire didn’t kick out in time. VITTO VINCENZIO WINS!"
(The crowd is both disappointed that Spire was unable to kick out yet excited at the fast paced action of the match. Vitto stands over his opponents as the referee raises his arm in victory. Spire is still dazed on the mat and Jachob has a horrible dejected look on his face. Rhiannon comes over and tries to cheer him up, guiding him out of the ring. She looks smugly at the two leather clad ladies who celebrate in the ring with Vincenzio. We then go to a commercial for the Best Of AWA Shock DVD.
When we come back the lights take on a dim blue, as a few dark blue strobes stroll the arena. The AWAtron kicks to life with the words, "Admit it...", followed by, "You KNOW you love me." An explosion of white pyro sets off on stage, bringing the lights to an extreme brightness, along with a shower of golden sparks falling over the stage. "Die Another Day" by Madonna plays on the system, and Reeve makes his way out from the curtain.)
FJ: "Who do you think will win this match?"
HS: "Its anyone's match but I‘d put my money on Reeve as BlackJack has been quiet as of late."
(Booker T and the MG's "Green Onions" begins to play and Blackjack appears on the ramp way and as the guitar chimes in, pyros shoot up from each side of the ramp all the way down, at every chime of the guitar 4-8 times, as he makes his way down and climbs into the ring going to the middle of the ring and raising his arms out and up then tosses off his leather jacket. Reeve is never taking his eyes off of Black Jack and eventually both Reeve and Black Jack meet in the middle of the ring, both of them staring at each other.)
FJ: "Both of them can't let their guard down."
(The bell rings as Reeve starts talking to Black Jack and points his finger right into Black Jack’s chest. Black Jack slaps the finger away as Reeve backs off then bitch slaps Black Jack right in the face. Black Jack grabs his face and then comes back with a even harder slap. Reeve grabs his face as he backs off then he turns at Black Jack but Black Jack moves out of the way. Reeve runs into the ropes and rebounds off but Black Jack with a leap frog. Reeve stops as Black Jack comes back down and Reeve plants a boot in the groin of Black Jack as he lands on his feet.)
HS: "Can we have one match that is clean? I guess you have to expect this coming from the wrestlers in Xplosion I guess."
FJ: "This is wrestling, no one fights clean anymore and you better shut your trap on the Xplosion comments as this is going to be a long night even though it’s our last together."
(The ref yells at Reeve as Black Jack gets up staying the corner. Black Jack slaps himself as Reeve walks over and kicks Black Jack in the gut and boots him again to the gut. Black Jack holds his gut as Reeve starts punching with left jabs. Reeve goes for a big right but Black Jack gets out of the way and tackles Reeve forcing him into the corner and starts laying in the big rights of his own before the ref gets between them and pushes Black Jack away and yells at him for using an open fist. The camera zooms in on Reeve who has blood coming down the side of his face one from one of Black Jack’s punches.)
HS: "Wrestling not Boxing... Got IT?"
FJ: "I think Black Jack has been watching too many Rocky movies."
HS: "Aren't they making a Rocky Six?"
FJ: "Yes, but let's get back to the action."
(Black Jack walks by the ref and goes over to Reeve . Reeve is holding his face as Black Jack hits a left jab. Black Jack swings again but Reeve ducks out of the way from the next left jab and starts to hit a couple rights to the ribs of Black Jack backing him off. Black Jack grabs his ribs as Reeve runs out of the corner and hits a clothesline knocking Black Jack down to the mat. Reeve checks his face and sees blood on his hands as he drops and elbow but Black Jack moves out of the way. Black Jack quickly gets up and tries to drop and elbow of his own but Reeve gets out of the way. As Reeve tries to get up Black Jack grabs him by the tights and goes for a pin..... ONE... TWO... KICK OUT. Reeve rolls on top of Black Jack and goes for the pin himself... ONE... TWO... Black Jack grabs Reeve and puts him back into a pin... ONE... TWO... KICK OUT.)
HS: "It's early in the match, and both guys are trying to go for the quick win!"
(Both Reeve and Black Jack get up but Black Jack gets up quicker and hits goes for a DDT but Reeve blocks it and gets behind Black Jack and hits a German Suplex into a pin... ONE... TWO... KICK OUT. Reeve picks up Black Jack and for another German but lets go halfway through the hold. Some how Black Jack lands on his feet and waits for Reeve to get up. Black Jack grabs Reeve and hits a DDT then rolls on top of Reeve for the pin... ONE... TWO... KICK OUT.)
HS: "Close but not close enough to end it."
FJ: "It’s anyone's match now!"
HS: "I already said that."
(Black Jack gets up and grabs Reeve by the foot and tries to turn Reeve over and put him into the Chicago Snap. Reeve keeps fighting not letting Black Jack get the upper hand as Black Jack tries the other way. Reeve fighting Black Jack off with his leg power and ends up pushing Black Jack off but before Reeve can even think about getting up Black Jack , grabs his leg again. Both Reeve and Black Jack are fighting to get what they want done. Black Jack gets the upper hand and locks in the Chicago Snap. Reeve is trying to grab the ropes as the ref asks Reeve if he gives up. Reeve yells out loud that he doesn‘t and starts inching closer, and closer to the ropes.)
FJ: "He's almost to the ropes!"
HS: "Black Jack almost has this won. He just needs to keep the move locked in longer."
(Reeve keeps trying to grab the ropes and is getting closer and closer to the ropes. Black Jack gets up and grabs Reeve back to the middle of the ring. Reeve starts pushing up with his arms and he gets up as Black Jack falls over and breaks the hold but Black Jack holds on and puts Reeve back into the Chicago Snap. Reeve again inches closer and closer to the ropes and gets to the ropes and the ref forces Black Jack to break the hold. Black Jack breaks the hold and Reeve goes to the outside and tries to great a breather, as the ref starts to count... ONE... TWO...)
FJ: "Black Jack doesn’t want to win the match due to a count out and he‘ll be out there soon enough to continue his beating on Reeve."
(...THREE... FOUR... Black Jack breaks the count, and exit’s the ring. Reeve charges towards Black Jack as the ref begins to count again and executes a Phoenix Splash off the guardrail onto the unsuspecting Black Jack... ONE... TWO...)
HS: "It might be a win, but its a cheat win in my books."
(...THREE... FOUR... FIVE... SIX... Black Jack starts to move as Reeve continues to taunt and flaunt the crowd... SEVEN... Black Jack gets to his feet... EIGHT... Black Jack gets up on the ring apron still dazed from the Phoenix Splash as Reeve goes over to Black Jack on the ring apron and attempts to suplex Black Jack onto the floor but Black Jack ends up blocking it and pushes Reeve away from him onto the concrete floor. Black Jack enters the ring as Reeve gets to his feet on the floor and tries to boot Reeve as he re-enters the ring but Reeve grabs the foot of Black Jack and takes Black Jack to the mat with an ankle lock.)
FJ: "The end is getting closer now as Reeve has gotten his second wind now that the blood stop flowing from his head."
HS: "Even if Black Jack loses this match, he's put up a great fight since the start."
FJ: "I wouldn’t say but when you have guys as pitiful as Shock to watch every week, I guess you are entitled to say that I guess."
(Both Black Jack and Reeve get up and Reeve quickly goes for and hits a belly-to-belly suplex and Reeve not letting up locks in a STF on Black Jack. You can tell Black Jack is in pain but he's not giving up. Black Jack grabs the ropes with ease as Reeve locked in the hold to close to the ropes. Reeve gets up and waits for Black Jack to get up. Black Jack grabs the ropes and pulls himself up and turns around and is met with a boot to the face by Reeve.)
HS: "Reeve on the attack now and it’s payback time."
FJ: "What Reeve is trying to do is to take all the power that Black Jack has left and take it from him."
HS: "This move will do it?"
FJ: "Why not?"
HS: "Whatever..."
(Black Jack rolls to the floor but gets nails with a missile dropkick from behind by Reeve and both men are down on the floor.)
FJ: "Reeve is doing whatever he can to keep the momentum only like a true wrestler, a Xplosion wrestler would do."
HS: "Black Jack isn't about to give up and that is what makes wrestlers from Shock that much better. Too bad Black Jack has to be involved with Xplosion."
(Both men slow to their feet grab the ring apron, and pull themselves up. Reeve goes over to Black Jack and out of nowhere Black Jack hits him with a knee to the gut. Black Jack grabs Reeve and hits a Tiger Bomb onto the concrete floor... ONE... TWO... Black Jack gets up and grabs Reeve by the hair and rams him face first into the ring apron busting the cut open again of Reeve’s forehead...THREE... FOUR... Black Jack tries to go for another Tiger Bomb but Reeve breaks it up and starts hitting lefts and rights to Black Jack’s face. Black Jack breaks the hold and buries a knee to the ribs of Reeve and picks him up and tries to for a Power bomb but Reeve uses his quickness and dumps Black Jack over his head on to the concrete floor... FIVE... SIX... Reeve greets Black Jack with a vicious knee to the face as Black Jack attempts to get to his feet... SEVEN... Reeve digs under the ring and pulls out a folded table and starts to set it up as Black Jack unsuccessfully attempts to get back up to his feet. Reeve slowly climbs up onto the ring apron as Black Jack grabs a hold of the ring apron for support to get to his feet... EIGHT...)
HS: "Someone is going to get hurt!"
FJ: "That person is going to be you soon if you don’t soon zip your lip and I'm going to love being the one to do it after Vortex is through and we no longer have to have our pretty announcer faces on anymore."
(NINE... Black Jack climbs up onto the ring apron and both men start trading left and rights but Reeve gets up the upper hand as he has the advantage in his favor as he remains perched up on the offence and hit’s the Perfection driving Black Jack head first through the table.)
HS: "That’s going to hurt in the morning."
FJ: "Black Jack is out and if he gets up from this one, give him the title as he deserves it."
HS: "Reeve just moonsaulted off the ring apron and drove Black Jack head first through that table with a DDT in one motion."
(Both Reeve and Black Jack remain still but Reeve gets up first and leans against the guardrail to get his balance unaware of the referee’s count... TEN! Reeve starts raises his hand in the air like he won the match as the bell sounds to end the match.)
FJ: "Reeve is going to be pissed after he finds out the news."
HS: "News? What news?"
FJ: "That the match is over that news."
HS: "Oh, I thought you meant the news of this match being a double countout."
FJ: "Whatever..."
(Black Jack regaining enough energy to hoist his right arm into the air in victory as the referee stands in the middle of the ring looking blankly at both men shaking his head.)
HS: "By the look on the referee’s face, he’s not to pleased with Reeve at all."
FJ: "I have been told we are now going backstage to take a look at one of AWA Xplosion's top superstars preparing."
(The shot cuts backstage where we see Dave "The Rave" Santini in what we can presume is his locker room. We see Dave take The Equalizer out of the black leather case and turn towards a vat of glue. He dips the nightstick into the glue before turning to a small pile of glass chards that lie in a small container. He proceeds to wipe the glass all over the now sticky Equalizer as a devious and sadistic smile comes across his face. We then are shown a few highlights from the tag team match last week on Xplosion, including the post-match antics of Rawstarr and Joshua Carpenter.)
FJ: "Our next match-up features two exciting Xplosion superstars as the AWA Cruiserweight Champion Rawstarr puts his title on the line against relative newcomer Joshua Carpenter."
HS: "Well, Frank, since these guys are from your show, why don’t you give us a run-down on how this match came to be?"
FJ: "Well, that’s your job usually."
HS: "Yeah, but they aren’t on my show, so I don’t know anything about this next match-up."
FJ: "Man, I hope my new partner will be able to give background information before a match, ‘cause I don’t want to do that crap."
HS: "Who is your broadcast partner going to be again?"
FJ: "How many times do I have to tell you, Herb... I don’t know!"
HS: "I wonder if they know yet."
FJ: "Anyways, all I can tell you is that these two men, Rawstarr and Joshua Carpenter squared off against each other last week on Xplosion in a tag team match. Rawstarr paired up with Quade deSade and Joshua Carpenter teamed up with Snake."
HS: "Those are odd match-ups."
FJ: "Yeah, they were odd, but it made for an exciting Xplosion match, and in the end Snake and Joshua Carpenter
picked up the win, so Rawstarr will be looking for a measure of revenge here tonight at Vortex as he puts his title up for grabs."
("Right Now" by Korn begins to play and the lights slightly dim. A few strobes around the entrance way begin to flash. Joshua Carpenter, wearing just a pair of black slacks, walks out and looks straight at the ring. He doesn’t stop to razzle the crowd. As he reaches the ring, he throws his right arm into the air and rolls into the ring. He stands up in the ring and starts a quick warm-up routine.)
HS: "Well, Frank give me some insight. Who’s going to come out on top tonight?"
FJ: "You’re really putting me on the spot. Well, I’d have to say The Legendary Low, Brian Williams, and Santini over
Dark Warrior."
HS: "No, you idiot! In this match!"
FJ: "Ohhh, I haven’t really thought about that. I’d have to say Rawstarr has the advantage being the champion and
all, plus he’s got the experience advantage as well."
("Domination" by Click Clack begins to play and the crowd gives Rawstarr and Ms. Rawness a mixed reaction as they come out onto the entrance ramp. As Rawstarr begins to make his way to the ring, more and more of the Vancouver crowd start to boo the Cruiserweight Champion. Rawstarr looks focused on his opponent and slides into the ring. He quickly takes the title off from around his waist and drops it on the mat. He strides to Carpenter and hits him with a flurry of rights. Carpenter backs up with each hit and backs into a corner. Rawstarr continues to hit him with a barrage of right fists. The referee motions for the bell and the match officially begins. Carpenter finally blocks one of Rawstarr’s rights and hits Rawstarr with a right of his own. He then grabs Rawstarr around the head and throws him into the corner. He then delivers three forearm smashes to the head of Rawstarr as the corner of the ring holds him up.)
HS: "What damaging forearms! The only thing holding Rawstarr up is the corner of the ring!"
(Joshua Carpenter then Irish whips Rawstarr across the ring and into the other corner. Carpenter charges Rawstarr and
delivers a crushing splash onto the Cruiserweight Champion. Rawstarr grabs his stomach and falls to the mat. Carpenter picks
up the champ and gives him a suplex. Rawstarr reaches around and grabs his back, but gets up rather quickly. Rawstarr gets up to his feet just in time to catch a lick coming from Carpenter. Rawstarr holds Carpenter’s left foot and smiles as he has him in quite the predicament. But, Rawstarr doesn’t capitalize and Carpenter delivers an Enziguri kick to the head of Rawstarr with his right foot. Rawstarr hits the mat immediately motionless.)
FJ: "He nearly kicked his head clean off!"
HS: "Rawstarr thought he had the best of Carpenter and then within a split second, Rawstarr is laying on the mat. Carpenter is going for the win!"
(Joshua Carpenter covers Rawstarr and hooks his leg. 1! . . . 2! . . . Rawstarr kicked out right before the referee could hit the mat for the three count.)
HS: "NO! We almost had a new Cruiserweight Champion in Joshua Carpenter. So close!"
(Joshua Carpenter hits the mat with his fist and picks Rawstarr up, but Rawstarr remains on one knee and hits Carpenter with a Low Blow. Carpenter doubles over and falls to the mat, while Rawstarr stays on one knee. Rawstarr gets up and grabs Carpenter’s legs. He splits his legs open and kicks him in the family jewels.)
FJ: "Yeah, Rawstarr! He’s leading a focused attack!"
HS: "And the referee should make him change his focus. It looks like he’s going to do it again."
(Rawstarr grabs Carpenter’s legs once again, but this time he wraps him up into a Sharpshooter. Carpenter screams out in pain, as Rawstarr locks the hold in. Carpenter, who’s slightly larger than Rawstarr, drags himself and Rawstarr to the nearest rope and grabs the bottom rope. The referee instructs Rawstarr to release the hold, but he doesn’t. The referee tells him to release the hold and starts to give him a five count. Carpenter is screaming out in pain as the ref begins to count. 1! . . . 2! . . . 3! Rawstarr shakes his head no. 4! . . . 5! The referee gets angry at Rawstarr and pleads with Rawstarr to release the Sharpshooter.)
HS: "Take the title away from him! Give it to Joshua Carpenter! He needs to break the hold!"
FJ: "Rawstarr showing some ring intelligence here by not releasing the hold. If he gets DQed, then he keeps the title,
but as long as he keeps this hold on Carpenter, the odds of him winning go up as well. Brilliant!"
(Carpenter, in a fit of desperation, slides under the bottom rope to the outside of the ring bringing Rawstarr to hit the ring ropes and break the hold. Carpenter slams to the outside of the ring, but Rawstarr was forced to break the hold. Rawstarr slides out to the outside and stomps on the right knee of Carpenter. Rawstarr picks Carpenter up and Irish whips him into the steel ring steps. Carpenter hits them awkwardly with his knees first and collapses on top of the steps. Rawstarr wastes no time and begins to pull up the protective pad around the ring to expose the cold cement ground. He grabs Carpenter off of the ring steps and pulls him over to the exposed cement. He grabs him by the hair and places his head under his armpit and motions to the crowd for a DDT. He attempts a DDT, but Carpenter grabs Rawstarr’s legs as he goes for it and Rawstarr lands on his back on the exposed cement. Carpenter reaches down and picks Rawstarr up off the cement and quickly powerbombs him onto the cement. Joshua Carpenter reaches at his right knee after the powerbomb and falls to the arena floor as Rawstarr lays in pain on the exposed arena cement.)
HS: "So, Rawstarr removing the protective pad cost him in the end. And now no one has a clear cut advantage.
Carpenter is beginning to stir, but Rawstarr is clutching his back."
(Joshua Carpenter gets up off the arena floor and slides into the ring. He lays in the middle of the ring grabbing his right knee.)
FJ: "I think referee Justin Marshall is letting the match go on because the Cruiserweight Title is on the line. He’s not
counting Rawstarr out."
HS: "Joshua Carpenter is really feeling the effects of the Sharpshooter and collision with the steel ring steps."
(Rawstarr gets up off the arena floor and slowly crawls into the ring underneath the bottom rope. He gets up to his feet about the same time Carpenter does and the two tie-up. Carpenter Irish whips Rawstarr into the ring ropes and as he comes back, Carpenter nails him with a clothesline. Carpenter picks Rawstarr up and props him up on his shoulders in a powerbomb
position. He runs across the ring and delivers a damaging running powerbomb to Rawstarr. Rawstarr nearly folds in half and
ends up on his face and stomach after the impact. Joshua Carpenter flips him over and pins him.)
HS: "Here we go! One! . . . Two! . . . . Thr-! No! Rawstarr barely kicks out. I thought we had a new champion."
FJ: "I think Carpenter thought he picked up the win as well. Look at how angry he is with the referee."
(Carpenter gets up and picks Rawstarr up again. He gives him a kick to the gut and then a Karate style crescent kick. Rawstarr nearly falls to the mat, but stays up somehow. Carpenter goes to give him another kick, but Rawstarr grabs and holds
Carpenter’s kicking leg.)
HS: "This looks familiar, doesn’t it Frank?"
(However, this time Rawstarr wastes no time and uses Carpenter’s leg to pull him towards Rawstarr. Rawstarr reaches down and delivers a brainbuster to Carpenter. Carpenter nearly bounces six inches off the mat from the impact of Rawstarr’s quick brainbuster. Rawstarr covers Carpenter. 1! . . . 2! . . . Carpenter gets his shoulder up at the last second. Rawstarr doesn’t stress the close count. He simply turns Carpenter over and locks in the Raw Footage.)
FJ: "There it is! The Raw Footage! It’s all over now!"
(Joshua Carpenter struggles in the Raw Footage before finally tapping Rawstarr’s elbow three times and giving up. Rawstarr releases the hold and Ms. Rawness grabs the Cruiserweight Title from the time keeper and gets into the ring. The referee helps Joshua Carpenter out of the ring, and then the theme song from Blade 2 begins to play as Ms. Rawness hands Rawstarr the AWA Cruiserweight Title.)
FJ: "What? Whose music is that?"
(Rawstarr places his Cruiserweight title over his shoulder and looks on to the entrance ramp in confusion. He looks at Ms.
Rawness and she shrugs her shoulders. The two continue to look up at the entrance way and get out of the ring. Rawstarr
begins to get a fearful look in his face and they begin to walk up the entrance ramp towards the back when a large Hispanic
man wearing a Peyton Manning Indianapolis Colts jersey appears on the top of the entrance ramp. He’s holding a microphone
and the music stops playing.)
HS: "Who is this man?"
FJ: "I don’t know, but Rawstarr and Ms. Rawness have stopped in their tracks."
BRONCO T.: Rawstarr you have been here for far too long messing up the good name that I had made for the NPD. You're sucking people down with your methods of irrelevant things, your lies and your falsehoods. When I had invested my time in you previously, I thought you would be worth something. Now I see, it was a waste of my damn time."
(Rawstarr yells at him, we just can’t hear what he is saying. Rawstarr flips off Bronco T.)
Bronco T.: "Oh, fBEEPk me? No, fBEEEPk you!"
(Bronco T. runs down to Rawstarr and they start to go at it. Rawstarr is still a little weak from the match that just took place. Rawstarr has fallen to the ground in pain. We see Bronco T. pick him up, and then he flattens him with a Bronco Bottom. All of a sudden we hear "If I Die" by L Bow, blasting the speakers, and we see the NPD run out there. They run and jump in the ring. Bronco T. takes a few steps back as we see Tim "The Giant" helping Rawstarr up. Then all of a sudden Blue superkicks Rawstarr and he goes flying into the turnbuckle. Tim "The Giant" Toke Slams him outside of the ring on to the arena floor.)
HS: "The NPD just turned their backs on Rawstarr! Maybe this is a Shock vs. Xplosion thing!"
FJ: "I can’t believe what we just saw. Wait a minute, that man is going to talk again."
BRONCO T.: GET READY FOR A NEW ERA, THE NEW NPD! There is not a force out there nor is there any person out there in the AWA that is ready for what we are about to give out to you!"
(The BLADE 2 theme song plays and as they walk away we get a close-up of Rawstarr who is laying there in pain. Officials are coming down to ringside as we go to a commercial for the latest NPD t-shirt. We then return to the arena. "Way Away" by Yellowcard starts to play with the opening line
and the arena erupts with cheers thanks to the upcoming match to make this Vortex even better. The crowd now knows that King Chozen is in the next match up. There is a big explosion of white pyro on the stage as Davey Havok comes walking out onto the stage. He stops at the top of the ramp and does a short series of martial arts maneuvers, culminating in an explosion of pyro. He laughs and slaps high fives with the fans on his way down to the ring. He slides into the ring. He climbs up onto the second rope of the turnbuckle, spreading out his arms before getting off and doing the same on the opposite turnbuckle. When he gets on the opposite turnbuckle, thousands and thousands of flashlights go off from the Canadian crowd and then, Havok stands in the middle of the ring looking towards the entrance curtains.)
HS: "All in all, Havok is starting to be liked by the AWA fans after he defeated Reeve this same week on Xplosion."
FJ: "Pfft! What can you say about Xplosion? I was there, remember? I was there with the lovely Ramona A. Stone and I can tell you that match was nothing out of the ordinary. Davey Havok cheated and the referee didn’t see it."
HS: "He did not. How did he cheated his way out to victory, Frank?"
FJ: "I saw him! He rolled Reeve up from behind in a boy scout."
HS: "A what?"
FJ: "You know, a boy scout. When Havok rolled Reeve from behind for the pin."
HS: "You mean a school boy roll-up."
FJ: "Do you always have to try and be a smart ass? No wonder you were left out of Xplosion."
HS: "It doesn’t affect me, Frank. On the contrary, I won’t see you anymore or hear your stupid comments all the time."
FJ: "Bah!"
("Way Away" fades off to give way to "Victory" by Puff Daddy. This time, the crowd’s reaction raises even more as John Blaze starts to make his way from the back and steps through the curtains. Blaze doesn’t even stop on top of the ramp but starts to make his way towards the ring. On his way down, some fans extend their hands over the steel guardrail and try to slap hands with him but as always, Blaze is focused on the match but one things calls for his attention. A little kid who’s head doesn’t even surpass the guardrail, looks at him on as he walks by. Blaze stops on his tracks and heads towards the kid with a smile on his face. The kid gets really happy and his mother does too. His mother shakes the kid’s hair while Blaze kneels down and shakes hands with the little kid while other fans pat him on the back and scream things at him. Not bad things, but good things.)
FJ: "He does that so people like him for what he really isn’t."
HS: "Again wrong, Frank. John Blaze has always been a fan favorite, at least the fans like him cause of his big heart and sportsmanship... unlike you."
FJ: "Smart ass."
(Blaze gets in the ring after climbing the steel steps and stepping in under the top rope. Blaze stands inside the ring as he looks Havok on with a determined look on his face. Suddenly, "Victory" fades away as everything goes mysteriously quiet. The crowd is on the expectative as well as Blaze and Havok. Then "Personal Journalist" by Sage Francis starts blasting thought the P.A. system and the crowd jumps on their feet in a mayor roar. But as soon as King Chozen steps through the curtains, he gets even a bigger cheer from the Canadian crowd.)
HS: "Listen to this ovation. These fans really love the way Chozen works inside the ring. Risking himself in every move only to give the fans what they want and that is pure original AWA entertainment."
FJ: "What do they know about wrestling?"
HS: "What do YOU know about wrestling, Frank? Or better yet, there are three superstars in this ring... don’t you have a favorite winner?"
FJ: "They are ALL losers... but actually, I kind of like this Havok guy. He looks strong and confident and... wait, nah, nevermind."
HS: *sigh*
(By now, Chozen has already reached the bottom of the ramp and is now slapping some fans’ hands as he walks all around the ring before sliding in it but with caution as Blaze stands on one of the corners, Havok on the opposite side and Chozen just begins to get up when Havok decides to go and take advantage Chozen who is just getting up. The referee gives open way for the match to start officially.)
FJ: "See what I am talking about? I said I liked this Havok kid because he is confident of what he is doing and..."
HS: "Didn’t you just said that..."
FJ: "Are you crazy? I haven’t said a thing, Herb. It’s all in your imagination."
(Chozen quickly gets up and waits for Havok to hit a running clothesline but sidesteps him and sends Havok flying out of the ring over the top rope in a catapult. Havok hits the concrete floor hard. As KC looks down at Havok, Blaze comes from behind but Chozen turns around just in time and Blaze stops on his tracks. Both men now start circling each other and the fans roar to the way the match has begun. As Davey Havok outside starts to get up, some fans tap him on his shoulders and back. Davey holds the back of his head and looks up into the ring how both Blaze and Chozen are circling each other in the middle of the ring. Finally, they lock horns and immediately, Havok slides inside the ring as Chozen’s back is facing him and Havok nails Chozen in the back of the head with a double arm hammer and Chozen drops on the mat on one knee while Blaze, in front of Chozen, looks at Davey and delivers a quick short arm clothesline taking Havok down. Blaze now pulls Chozen up by the hair and incredibly lifts him back and over in a belly-to-belly suplex. Chozen lands on his back behind Blaze as Blaze quickly pulls Havok up by the hair and does the same thing. He sends Havok a little further due to Havok’s weight. Havok drops right on top of Chozen who was starting to get up only to be taken down with a 217 lbs body hitting him.)
HS: "Veteran Blaze is cleaning house early by working not just on one but both of his opponents."
FJ: "It's not going to last him very much. Even though Havok is in the ring with two veterans in the subject, he has the energy and wills to win this match. I’m sure about it."
(Blaze climbs the nearest turnbuckle and waits for either Chozen or Havok to get on their feet. After about 5 seconds, Havok gets up first and Blaze jumps really high towards Havok in some type of Flying Cross Body but in the last second Havok sidesteps him and Blaze flies right over Havok to land on the mat pretty hard. Havok quickly gets to work on Blaze as he is holding his ribs due to the power of the impact against the canvas. Just as Havok is stomping on Blaze, Chozen suddenly wraps his arm around Davey’s neck and drops him in a Reverse DDT to quickly runs towards a turnbuckle. He climbs up to the top and immediately flies up to land on Havok with a 450 splash followed by a quick cover.)
HS: "Very early cover by King Chozen here!"
FJ: "Good, kick out after 2. See? Havok isn’t going to lose for nothing."
(Chozen quickly gets up and pulls Havok up by the hair before sending him against the ropes. As Havok springs back, Chozen gets ready to make a move but behind him, Blaze springs towards the ropes and grabs Chozen’s hair from behind to drop forward in a nasty face buster. Havok runs by and springs again on the opposite ropes as Blaze quickly gets up and takes Havok down with a knee to the gut.)
HS: "Woah!"
FJ: "I told you he would win!"
HS: "Who?"
FJ: "John Blaze, of course!"
(Blaze pulls Chozen up and sends him towards the ropes and runs right behind him. As Chozen springs and turns around, Blaze jumps up in a missile drop kick which takes Chozen over the top rope to the outside. Blaze gets up and faces his attention towards Havok now who is starting to get up but holding his stomach.)
HS: "Blaze hasn’t even noticed Chozen is lying on the ring apron. He didn’t notice King Chozen didn’t drop on the concrete."
FJ: "Do you call that a veteran? Please!"
HS: "You were cheering Blaze just a second ago! Ugh, nevermind."
(Chozen starts to roll inside the ring as Blaze starts working on Havok. Chozen gets up with the help of the ropes and awaits for an opportunity to attack. Blaze and Havok start trading rights and lefts until they finally reach one of the ropes. Chozen sees the opportunity and runs towards them with a double running clothesline and all three men fly over the top rope to land awkwardly on the concrete floor. Blaze on top of Havok and Chozen on top of Blaze. All three men lay on the concrete to a ‘HOLY SHIT’ from the crowd. Finally, after about 10 seconds, Chozen gets up and shakes his head violently. Chozen looks at the guardrail and jumps on top of it. Just as Blaze starts to get up, Chozen jumps over him and lands on the ring apron. Blaze looks towards the rail but doesn’t see anybody. Chozen places one foot on the middle rope facing to the outside of the ring and holds himself with the top rope. Blaze turns around and Chozen jumps up, twists 180 degrees and lands crookedly on Blaze making Blaze hit the steel rail with his back while having Chozen’s weight on him!)
HS: "These guys want to take all from them to win this match under any cost."
FJ: "What would you expect?"
(Chozen gets up with much difficulty as Havok gets up at the same time. Havok rolls inside the ring as the referee hits 7 on the count out. Chozen slowly rolls back in the ring without noticing Havok is already inside. Havok notices this and waits for Chozen to get up. When he does, Havok slowly walks up to him from behind and turns him around to quickly kick him right in the gut as the referee is concentrated on Blaze who is badly hurt on the outside. Havok steps back two steps from Chozen as Chozen holds his stomach. After about 5 seconds, Chozen looks up only to see only Havok’s leg as Davey jumps up and executes a buzzsaw kick to his face)
FJ: "That is Havok’s Easy Target! I told you he would win. He has been my favorite all along!"
HS: "Look! Chozen sidesteps him and grabs his leg before punching Havok right on the chest!"
FJ: "Who does he think he is?"
(After that punch to the chest, Havok fell back like sack full of sand. Chozen steps back some and awaits for Havok to get up which he already is. Slowly, but he is. Just as Chozen takes position, the fans start screaming loudly as they cheer for Chozen’s next move. But suddenly, Blaze grabs a hold of Chozen’s right foot from outside the ring and starts pulling on it with difficulty as Chozen turns around angry and kicks Blaze right in the forehead with his free foot before turning around again quickly, takes flight and runs straight towards Havok. Right before Havok can notice, Chozen tackles him with a vicious spear that makes Havok fall on the mat almost unconscious as Chozen doesn’t even get up but just hooks the leg. The referee drops on the mat and starts the slow count as the fans count out loud as well. ONE... TWO...)
FJ: "NOOOOOO!"
(THREE! Your winner is King Chozen! The fans are about to go crazy as "Personal Journalist" starts blasting on the speaker system.)
HS: "AND KING CHOZEN DID IT!"
FJ: "Well, in the back of my head I knew this guy would win anyhow. Good for him."
(The camera cuts to backstage where Tim "The Giant" is taking a bag out of his car. Headlamps illuminate Tim. He shields his eyes as an ambulance corners him at his car. The camera man runs in to get a close look as Rawstarr hops out of the ambulance with a sledgehammer.)
FJ: "Hey! It's Xplosion's Rawstarr!"
HS: "I think he's carrying Shock's Sledgehammer!"
FJ: "No way, Herb, that Sledge is SO Xplosion!"
(Rawstarr moves in quickly on Tim the Giant and smashes the sledge into his leg. Tim the Giant screams in pain. Rawstarr drops the sledge and retreats. The outstretched arms of Tim "The Giant" nearly missing Rawstarr's departing form. Tim begins to scream for help.)
HS: "My GOD someone get an ambulance back there!"
FJ: "There's already an ambulance there!"
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(Frank sniffles.)
FJ: "I'm going to miss you telling me to shut up."
HS: "Well, we'll see what that means for NPD's match later tonight."
(We go to the backstage area where Shock's AWA World Champion Brian Williams has just arrived. He walks past the camera and into his locker room.)
HS: "The AWA World Champion has arrived, but now we’re just about ready to start our next match of the evening, a Shock match up, featuring two new faces who have been at each other’s throats since the Rookie Battle Royale nearly a month ago!"
FJ: "Who cares, Herb? It’s a friggan Shock match!"
HS: "Hey now, I sat here and commentated unbiased when King Chozen won, I’d expect you to do the same!"
FJ: "Oh, don’t remind me. Man, Herb, I’m starting to remember what I enjoyed so much about commentating with Ramona Thursday."
HS: "You don’t love me, Frank?"
FJ: "Only like I love this ingrown toenail."
HS: "Anyway, as I was saying, these two rookies have been engaged in a very heated feud these last couple of weeks. Eric "All American" Scheel has had a great start here in AWA, putting on good performances in each of his matches thus far, most recently an impressive win over Eternal Undying’s Vampire last night in Ottawa."
FJ: "Yeah, and I actually happen to like this Draven Shadows guy. He’s big, he’s bad, and he’s looking to put a hurting on Eric Scheel tonight!"
(The Offspring’s "Come Out Swinging" hits and the Vancouver crowd immediately begins booing the giant German as he emerges from the back. Shadows is wearing a long red trench coat and dark sunglasses and he curses at the crowd and slowly makes his way to the ring.)
FJ: "And here he comes... he’s a seven-foot monster! This man may very well be the next Brian Williams!"
HS: "He’s got a long way to go to catch the Shock World Champion, Frank. But if he is ever to do so, winning here tonight against the upstart Scheel will certainly put him on his way."
(As Draven takes his place in the ring, the crowd, along with the cameras, diverts their attention to the entranceway as "Breath" by Nickleback blares over the P.A. The Canadian crowd is a bit indifferent to the All American, but he still comes out with a face full of enthusiasm.)
HS: "Eric looks ready tonight. He’ll need to be, too, because Shadows has a enormous size advantage over him."
FJ: "He’s too small, Herb. Just like Shock’s ratings last night!"
HS: "Well, excuse me if the Fish didn’t come by and throw me into a car or something!"
FJ: "....."
(Eric and Draven suddenly lock eyes and in an instant, Scheel is sliding headfirst into the ring, full steam. He meets Shadows in the center of the ring with an elbow smash followed by another. After a third, Scheel lands a hard uppercut to Shadows that sends him stumbling backward into the ropes. Draven bounces off the ropes and nails Scheel right in the face with a big boot from nowhere.)
FJ: "Whoa, he pulled that one out of his ass! I told you, Scheel is just too small. He didn’t even make Shadows flinch!"
HS: "I must say, I am surprised at the quickness of that move. Take a look at this impact!"
(A replay of the big boot is shown in a split screen as the crowd reacts just as loudly the second time as the first. Meanwhile, Draven is already on the assault, landing a hard knee drop to Scheel’s face. Draven rolls forward onto his feet and proclaims his superiority to the Canadian crowd. On the mat, the referee is checking Scheel’s nose for blood, but the All American pushes him off slightly, telling him he’s fine. He climbs to his feet where he is quickly met by the outstretched arms of Draven Shadows and slammed hard onto Shadows’ knee with a back breaker.)
FJ: "Shadows is trying to snap Scheel’s spine in two! I like this guy; he’s brutal. Maybe he could come over to Xplosion instead of wasting his career on Shock."
HS: "Shadows is just overpowering Scheel here. He’s completely dominating up to this point in the match up."
(As Scheel clutches his lower back on the mat, Draven continues his viscous assault with several hard stomps to Eric’s head, rendering him dazed and disoriented. The crowd is somewhat dejected as Shadows picks Scheel up with one arm and begins to taunt him. A moment later, Scheel is back on the mat, out cold from the ensuing DDT.)
FJ: "DID YOU SEE THAT!"
HS: "Eric Scheel just hit the mat head first in a near perpendicular position! He’s out like a light!"
(Shadows arrogantly covers Scheel by placing one of his giant feet onto Eric’s chest and the referee counts ONE!... TWO!... KICKOUT! Shadows begins laughing, however, as Eric Scheel struggles to the ropes. Draven then goes over to pick him up, grabbing him by the back of the neck. However, Eric Scheel quickly unleashes a fury of elbow’s to Draven’s gut, driving the air from his solar plexus. Shadows stumbles back for a moment and Scheel unloads a hard kick.)
HS: "Scheel may be mounting some offense here... wait a minute?"
FJ: "ENZIGURI BY THE BIG MAN! Draven Shadows just nailed Scheel with an Insigure, dropping him like a sack of potatoes!"
HS: "Listen to this impact again!"
(The replay is shown and the sound of Shadows’ massive boot hitting the side of Eric’s head resonates through the arena with some reaction. Back to live action, Draven is attempting to lock in a death lock on the felled Eric Scheel. However, the All-American begins struggling mightily, pulling himself along the mat towards the ropes. Before Shadows can lock the move in, Eric has frantically reached the ropes and the referee has forced Draven to break the hold.)
FJ: "Oh now where is he going? What a coward... get back in there and take your beating like a man!"
HS: "Eric Scheel is obviously trying to reorganize himself here and maybe get some recoup time."
FJ: "Which won’t be for long, because here comes Draven!"
(Shadows pursues a battle worn Scheel around the ring, gaining on him and enjoying the chase. Scheel quickly slides into the ring to avoid Shadows, and Draven hops up onto the ring apron. No sooner does Draven’s feet hit the apron than they are back down onto the thin matting outside, and his jaw crashes hard into the ring.)
HS: "Shadows fell victim to a trap there. Scheel just dropkicked him through the ropes! That’s right, through them!"
FJ: "Oh, yeah, he runs away like a coward and now he’s a damn hero."
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(As Draven stumbles backward, mostly confused, Scheel is able to run towards the ropes, leaping up onto the top rope and balancing his way on it, before diving into Shadows, sending both men sprawling to the mat.)
HS: "HIGH RISK MANEUVER! BOTH MEN ARE DOWN OUTSIDE THE RING!"
FJ: "What the hell is he doing, he could have hurt someone?"
(The fans shout HOLY SHIT as the referee counts ONE!... TWO!... THREE!... FOUR!... FIVE!... SIX!... SEVEN!... EIGHT!... Scheel is the first to his feet and upon instantly realizing that he is about to be counted out, he rolls back up onto the apron, breaking the count.)
HS: "Great presence of mind by the rookie. That’s a skill necessary to succeed in this business."
FJ: "Yeah, but being a chicken isn’t!"
(Scheel stumbles over to Shadows on weak legs, and rolls him into the ring, following suit. Inside the ring, Scheel begins to lift a still dazed Shadows onto his feet, but Shadows is quite heavy and it takes Scheel more time than usual. Enough time, in fact, for Shadows to shake the cobwebs and meet Eric Scheel toe to toe in the center of the ring. Shadows quickly lunges forward, placing one of his massive hands around Eric’s throat as Scheel grows wide eyed with surprise.)
FJ: "Here comes a choke slam! It’s all about to be over!"
HS: "Draven Shadows may have proven to much for Eric Scheel tonight."
(Just as Shadows begins to lift Scheel up, however, the All American rolls his arm out, then rolls around behind Shadows, pulling him down by his arm to the mat and then placing the big man’s other arm between his thighs, while pulling back on his forehead and shoulder.)
HS: "CROSSFACE! ERIC SCHEEL JUST REVERSED INTO THE CROSSFACE!"
FJ: "NOOO, how can this be?"
(Shadows, however, uses his full seven foot frame to easily reach out with his foot and touch the ropes, forcing Scheel to release the hold. Shadows quickly climbs to his feet, seemingly unharmed, although he rotates his shoulder in a circle.)
FJ: "Draven has great presence of mind also, he’s going to be big once he comes over to Xplosion."
(Scheel wastes no time charging at Draven, full speed, with a clothesline. But, amazingly, the big man ducks under the clothesline without being decapitated, and turns around to wait for a very surprised Eric Scheel. Shadows greets Eric with a smile and a violent power slam that shakes the entire ring. He holds down Scheel with a hard press.)
HS: "Shadows with the cover..."
FJ: "It’s all over! Shadows wins!"
HS: "ONE... TWO... THRE... no, he kicked out at the last moment!"
FJ: "What, that was a slow count! Someone call the police this is highway robbery."
HS: "This Scheel, he just won’t give up. He’s a fighter, I like that in a wrestler."
(Draven is obviously upset at the referee, but doesn’t waste much time arguing with him. Instead, he goes right back after Scheel, not giving him a single moment to recover. Eric tries to attack first by whipping him into the turnbuckle, but Draven reverses it and flings Scheel hard, back first, into the same turnbuckle. Shadows sees his opponent slumped over in the corner, held up by the ropes only, and a maniacal grin covers his face.)
HS: "What’s Shadows thinking here? Whatever it is, I can tell by the look on his face it won’t be pleasant."
FJ: "I think I know what he’s about to do! Shadows is calling for his Death Wish! And Eric Scheel is powerless to stop him. It was only a matter of time before Draven would put Scheel down."
HS: "I must agree that Shadows has completely dominated this match and the immediate future doesn’t look too bright for Eric Scheel."
(Draven guides Scheel up onto the top turnbuckle, being sure to jeer at the crowd as he does so. The fans begin to cheer, though, as Scheel suddenly nails Draven in the head with several hard rights. He then shoves Draven back down to the mat and immediately leaps forward, grabbing Shadows around the head and dropping down to the mat with a wicked top rope neck breaker.)
HS: "OL GLORY! FROM NOWHERE! SCHEEL JUST LANDED THE OL GLORY!"
FJ: "NOOO! How did he do that? This is insane."
(The fans begin to cheer, somewhat, as Scheel covers Shadows and the referee begins to count, ONE! TWO! THREE! Eric Scheel picks up the hard fought and unbelievable win. As Scheel celebrates, we go to a quick Best Of AWA Tag Teams DVD commercial before we return to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Next up is the Triple Threat Tag Match featuring three teams that have all worked hard. Eternal Undying, La Revolution, and the boys of NPD."
FJ: "You know NPD's going to run away with this one, right Herb? They're strong, they're fast, and they're Never Punking Down!"
HS: "We've just been handed something here by Mr. Arnold King..." (sounds of ripping) "It appears to be an AWA bio for Big Blue's new partner in tonights Tag Match..."
(The haunting voice of Amy Lee fills the arena. Lights wash the area in blue light, and blue flames ignite the sides of the ramp. "Lies" by Evanescence starts up as Eternal Undying is set to enter.)
FJ: "A tag match that's starting right now! Here come the winners!"
(Whisper makes his way to the ring in a classy white suit, followed by Phoenix and Vampire, clad in his usual chains. Phoenix and Vampire climb into the ring, and Whisper makes his way to the announce table. "Republique Francais" begins to play. Quite a few Canadians stand and cheer as La Revolution makes it's way to the ring. Back at the announcer's table, Whisper puts a headset on.)
FJ: "It's an honor for you to join us, Whisper!"
WHISPER: "I'm sure it must be, to have such a complete and egotistical personality such as mine at your side."
FJ: "Wish I had your broadcast talents over on Xplosion!"
("If I Die" by L Bow begins to play as Big Blue, followed by a hispanic man in yellow sunglasses, blue jeans, and a New England Patriots jersey, number 13. They walk to the ring and roll in at the same time.)
HS: "So this man's name is Bronco T, newcomer to the NPD. Looks like he gets to make his AWA debut right here on pay-per-view!"
(Bronco T wastes no time getting to the other side of the ropes, leaving Big Blue to start. Vampire also makes his way to the other side. Big Blue leans in the corner and smirks confidently. Jacques and Adrien have a short discussion before it's decided that The Hammer will start things off for La Revolution. Phoenix points at Big Blue and makes a few gestures implying who the better man really is. Big Blue holds his arms out offering Phoenix to come get him. Phoenix begins to move in. The Hammer is apparently tired of waiting, and runs in with a forearm smash to the distracted Phoenix. The referee calls for the opening bell. After a few stiff right hands to the back of Phoenix's head, Jacques locks in a headlock, then bulldogs Phoenix down to the mat. The Hammer rolls Phoenix over for a quick cover, but before the first hand of the referee strikes the mat, Phoenix powers out.)
HS: "Not even a one counter for A'Mer."
FJ: "Too bad, so sad."
Whisper: "Phoenix is a well oiled athletic machine. He is perfect."
(Phoenix quickly recovers and is driven into the ropes with more french right hands (which could very well be left hands.) Jacques whips Phoenix off the opposite ropes and sends him over with a back body drop. Phoenix is quick to his feet, only to meet a hard clothesline from The Hammer. Big Blue still sits back in his corner. Jacques moves toward his corner for a tag. Big Blue dives over and covers Phoenix, hooking the leg and using the ropes for leverage. ....1 ....2 ....Phoenix kicks out. Big Blue quickly scrambles back to his corner. Jacques turns around and glares at Big Blue before making the tag to Adrien D'Augbine.)
HS: "Here comes D'Augbine for La Revolution!"
(D'Augbine hops over the ropes and dropkicks Phoenix's knee. Phoenix falls to one knee and Adrien takes advantage, snap-suplexing Phoenix over. Both men scramble to their feet. Augbine ducks a discus clothesline from Phoenix and delivers a snap mare. Adrien bounces off the ropes for a bounce move on the sitting Phoenix, but Big Blue makes the NPD presence known with a huge spear from nowhere! Big Blue quickly takes the advantage on the recovering Phoenix with a superkick. The crowd starts to make a raucus as the members of Gothic Nightmare make their way to ring side.)
FJ: "What the heck are these morons doing?"
HS: "Nothing, that's what. Shock officials won't stand for this!"
(Gothic Nightmare are stopped by several officials. Big Blue rolls out of the ring to talk some trash to Gothic Nightmare, who are being held away from ring side. The official in the ring hops out to stop Big Blue. Amidst the chaos, Bronco T hops down from the apron.)
FJ: "Hey Whisper, now's your chance for a triple team on the french guys!"
WHISPER: "Eternal Undying need no such aide from me."
(Bronco T grabs a chair and walks up behind Jacques A'Mer, who is struggling to see the chaos on the ramp. Bronco T takes aim and takes out the knees of A'Mer, who falls and nails his chin on the apron before clattering to the floor. Bronto T sets up again and moves towards Vampire, who is staring into the ring blankly at the recovering Phoenix. Bronco T sets up and slams a chair into the back of Vampire. Vampire makes no effort to give chase. He simply turns around and looks at Bronco T, who stares back in shock. On the opposite turnbuckle from Vampire, Phoenix climbs to the turnbuckle and flies to the outside, surprising Bronco T with a missle dropkick. Phoenix falls to the floor and the newcomer, Bronco, clatters backwards in a half-flip before finally falling face down on the ground.)
HS: "Impressive head-stand there by Bronco T."
(Whisper jumps up from the announce table and runs to Vampire. He begins to tell Vampire to get in the ring. Vampire nods and climbs through the ropes. He moves to Adrien)
HS: "Vampire's not the legal man!"
FJ: "What the referee doesn't know will hurt everyone else."
(Vampire and Adrien exchange punches... right from Vampire,... right from Adrien... right from Vampire.... Adrien hits the mat. Adrien gets up and punches Vampire in the gut. Vampire clotheslines Adrien down with authority. At ringside, Gothic Nightmare is being dragged away, and Big Blue is returning to the ring. Big Blue watches Vampire lift Adrien and show him exactly what a gutwrench powerbomb feels like. Bronco T has wearily climbed onto the apron and happens to be leaning with one arm out. Big Blue smiles and tags him, unknowing of the pain that Bronco had recieved. Bronco shakes his head as Blue climbs to the apron. The referee signals that the tag has been made, and Bronco reluctantly gets in the ring. He comes face to face with the much larger Vampire. He starts to back away and glances at the referee. Seeing the referee is looking at Adrien, who is going for a tag, Bronco kicks Vampire as hard as he can... right in the jewels. Vampire, while emotionless and inhuman, is in fact male. Vampire slumps to his knees. Bronco runs behind him and pulldogs him down. He rolls Vampire over.... 1 ....2 ....the recently tagged A'Mer breaks up the count!)
HS: "Close one there for EUD!"
Whisper: "Doubtful."
(Vampire sits up and turns his head to the calls from Phoenix. The Hammer picks up Bronco T into a Death Vallet Driver and pummels him over. Vampire slowly stalks towards Phoenix. THe Hammer moves behind Vampire and with a grunt. Big Blue tries to intervene but is stopped by the referee. With the open opportunity, Jacques low blows Vampire and rolls him up for a school boy. The referee turns and drops for the count. ....1 Phoenix is in the ring. ....2 Phoenix hooks up A'mer and double-arm DDT's him into the mat. The referee yells at Phoenix. Big Blue climbs through the ropes to interfere, but Adrien Augbine is in as well, flying from the top with a huge Put-Down from long distance.)
FJ: "Betcha that call was ten cents a minute!"
WHISPER: "Is he usually this idiotic?"
HS: "Especially when he's sober."
FJ: "Hey!"
(Phoenix relents and returns to his corner the referee turns and yells at the recovering Blue to return to his corner. Adrien has already snuck back to his corner and is awaiting his partner. Vampire sits up first and starts moving towards Phoenix. Vampire tags Phoenix, and he hops in, moving quickly towards A'Mer, who is closest to his corner. Phoenix grabs The Hammer and whips him at Bronco. A'Mer reacts by sending to spinning heel kick right into Bronco T. Phoenix drops a quick dropkick to the gut of Adrien, sending him to the floor. Phoenix then turns... and he should have checked his watch, because it's Hammer Time! The French-Canadiana in the arena cheer as Jacques A'Mer unleashes Hammer Time on Phoenix, ending it with his patented eye jab, followed by left hook haymaker. Phoenix flips around and hits the mat. Jacques raises and arm while turning, only to be grabbed for a rock-bottom like maneuver!)
HS: "It's Bronco Bottom time!"
(The move never happens, however, as Jacques nails a low blow with his knee and lifts Bronco up into the air!)
FJ: "Nope, it's the JacquesHammer!"
(Adrien recovers to the apron and tags himself in while Jacques has Bronco held up. Adrien climbs the ropes. Jacques slams Bronco down and Adrien Flies off delivering Viva Le Francis!)
HS: "Two La Jet!"
FJ: "Two La Jet to Quit!"
WHISPER: "You're both essentially retarded."
(The referee strictly scolds Jacques while directing him out of the ring. Adrien stand up holding his gut and walks right into Phoenix, who lifts Adrien up and delivers the Eternal. Phoenix covers and hooks the leg. Jacques, seeing this, reaches out and tweaks the referees nose, continuing to distract the referee. The referee scolds Jacques longer. Phoenix stands up from the cover. Big Blue sneaks up behind Phoenix who is moving towards Jacques and the referee. Big Blue spins Phoenix around and lifts him up... delivering the Blue Driver! Big Blue pulls Bronco on top of Phoenix. Vampire, seeing this, heads into the ring. Big Blue runs over and jumps on Vampire, laying in punches. The referee turns, hops over D'Augbine and makes the count. ....1 Jacques hops in the ring ....2 Jacques dives.... 3! Jacques lands the break up half a second too late. The bell rings. Jacques grabs his face in frustration. Vampire sit-out powerbombs Big Blue, who rolls out of the ring in pain. Jacques turns on Bronco in anger but Bronco rolls away as well. NPD makes their way up the ramp to the L Bow tune, holding different extremities. Jacques shakes the ropes in anger.)
FJ: "Looks like the NPD walk away with a pay-per-view win tonight."
HS: "Maybe if they were a little more aggressive, they would have won cleanly."
FJ: "That was clean!"
(Vampire starts angrily moving towards La Revolution, who turn ready to fight, but Whisper steps in front of him. After a few quiet words, Vampire picks up Phoenix, and with a glare in the direction of La Revolution, Vampire leaves, followed by Whisper. La Revoltion looks disappointed and leaves the ring. At the end of the ramp a fan waves a French flag. Adrien approaches him and takes the flag. The fan claps and Adrien begins to wave the flag. Some fans boo, but some cheer for the frenchmen. Jacques spots one fan with a Canadian flag, taking it, Adrien and Jacques roll back into the ring and celebrate, waving the French and Canadian flags to the cheers of the fans.)
(The scene eventually cuts to Adam Bawm who is being cheered by the fans as he starts his warm-up in his locker room. We cut back into the arena and its lights fade as the fast paced intro of "Right Now" by Korn hits the PA system. Fog begins to roll from the stage below as the AWAtron above begins to flash in crimson red letters the words "The Entity" and "The Beast", one after another until the booted feet come free of the curtain. Snake, wearing the normal black leather pants and trench coat, his bare chest in full flex with the curvy Monica standing beside him. Making their way down to the ring Monica slides under the bottom rope and Snake jumps, placing one foot to the apron and sliding between the top and middle rope.
"Sadness" by Enigma reverbs from the speakers; heavy industrial chords highlight the latin Gregorian chant. Then in a moment respite only the heavy, sighing breath of an unseen woman can be heard. The lights in the auditorium are extinguished. And like burning brimstone flood letters spelling the name QUADE DESADE form a fiery cruciform logo and the harsh tempo resumes and the monks begin again their mantra. Bathed in the flaming incandescence of his fiery cross Quade deSade stands at the top of the ramp. He makes his way down to the ring and gets inside as he raises his arm in the air and goes to his corner awaiting the bell.)
HS: "This is going to be an interesting match-up."
FJ: "These two guys are used to carnage like this, so this will be fun."
HS: "Still the same old Frank..."
(The bell sounds and both men charge for the lock up the bigger and stronger Snake gets the advantage as he backs
Quade into the corner and the ref breaks it up. As soon as the ref gets between them Snake lets go and then hits a hard right to
Quade's jaw and runs to the ropes as Quade comes out of the turnbuckle and gets met by a stiff clothesline that knocks him
down. Quade gets back up to his knee and gets hit in the face by a kick that sends him back down.)
HS: "Snake is really digging into Quade here tonight."
FJ: "He’s one scary guy and gets the job done."
HS: "Everything Quade ever said to Snake will be coming out through this match, Snake's getting even."
FJ: "Revenge... it’s a beautiful thing."
(Snake grabs Quade by the head and lifts him up but gets met by a series of elbows to the gut, then Quade gets on both
knees and delivers a series of punches to the gut and a hard right uppercut to the jaw that sends Snake back and into the ropes.
Quade gets up fast and charges delivering a knee right into the abdomen of Snake and he whips him into the ropes and delivers
a gut kick then hard DDT. Quade floats over for the cover but only gets a 2. Quade grabs the head of Snake and lifts him to his
feet in a headlock and clubs his back and hooks an arm locking in a half nelson. Snake stretches an arm out trying to reach the
ropes but can’t as Quade pulls him back and sends him face first to the mat keeping the half-nelson locked in and wrenching on
it as Snake writhes in pain. Quade lays out flat to the side of Snake making an L and pushing into the half nelson as he pushes it
over and into a cover but once again only gets a 2.)
HS: "That was unusual for Quade."
FJ: "Yeah, it was, but he knows how to hurt the guy."
HS: "His unorthodox style certainly does that."
(Quade gets on top of Snake and grabs his head as he pummels into him with a series of rights then drops his head to the
mat and gets up. Quade runs to the ropes and comes back with a knee on Snakes face then an arm bar lock on the same side
as the half nelson and snakes slaps his free arm down inching closer to the ropes as he pulls Quade with him. Quade tugs on his
arm then thrust his leg down along the chest of Snake and gets up bringing Snake with him from the arm.)
HS: "Snake is in a bad way."
FJ: "Quade is punishing his upper body."
HS: "Snake's a powerhouse; he needs that upper body in the ring."
FJ: "Who would have thought that Quade could come up with that?"
HS: "Quade gets in your head like he did with Snake and his family, then he gets to you physically like he is right now. Don’t diminish his skills."
FJ: "You’re right, let's get along, we’ve got this show as our last together."
(Quade twist snakes arm but Snake throws a hard punch square in the face and whips him into the ropes with one arm
and catches him in the throat and delivers the Snake strike choke sidewalk slam. As he gets back to his feet with a surge of
adrenaline and grabs Quade by the head and throws him hard into the turnbuckle and charges catching him with a clothesline
then multiple shoulders to the gut in the corner. He grabs him and whips him into the other corner as Quade bounces off the
turnbuckles and stumbles into the middle of the ring as Snake gives him a huge big boot.)
HS: "Snake just came back in a big way."
FJ: "Quade had the advantage taken away from him in an instant."
HS: "And look, he isn’t finished."
(Snake grabs Quade and picks him up into a firemen’s carry and spins him fast and hard slamming there head and neck
along his knee.)
FJ: "Quade just got the Injection!"
HS: "What a brutal maneuver."
(Snake lets Quade fall and he rolls him over and goes for the cover. 1..... 2..... 3!)
HS: "Snake wins this and gets the revenge to Quade for his comments about his family."
("Right Now" begins to play and Snake rolls out of the ring, hugging Monica. We then cut to a video package highlighting the last few months of John Williams' and Andy Peek's careers. We see both of them advancing through the US title tournament in November, Williams still known as Animosity at that point. We go to Wrestlefest V and Animosity beating Adam Bawm to win the US title. Andy meanwhile was picking up victories over the likes of BlackJack, Damien Kross and Jeff Christianson while Animosity finished his feud with Bawm. After a hiatus in January, Animosity returned as John Williams and returned to his previous ways. Andy has since teamed with his brother Bryan to capture the AWA Tag Team title.)
HS: "Our next match, which represents the Shock brand, for the United States title, will be Andy Peek against John Williams."
FJ: "How can anyone say that's a great match? You have a Canadian and a Peek. There's nothing good about watching that."
HS: "Well, maybe this trailer will help you decide that."
FJ: "I doubt it."
VOICE: The American Wrestling Alliance United States Title! A piece of history, behold it in all its elegance. Many have fought for this great prize, many have tasted defeat, and had this piece of AWA history slip through their fingers. Ask these people how it felt to get oh so close to holding this most prestigious title, only to have it snatched away from them by another. Ask them about the drive and determination needed just to stay in the constant pursuit of this spectacle of sports entertainment. Each one alike will tell you stories of Blood Sweat and Tears, and each will tell you how close they came. Then they will tell you how the pursuit of this shining hunk of metal began to consume them. And as you ask all these questions, watch the eyes of the men as they tell their stories, watch them fill with dream of what almost was. Then and only then will you see how much this belt means to those who pursue it.
(We see many champions from past to present holding the title above their head. A few in tears, and blood on many others. Then footage ends when it stops on the United States Title.)
VOICE: There are many stories about the one that got away. Each told with different enthusiasm, from different perspective, but each as painful as the one before it. Many only receive one chance to achieve the high honour of calling themselves the United States Champion. So when that one chance does come up, the contender knows full well that he needs to make the absolute best of the situation. TO see the faces of those who have come oh so close only to fail in the end, you would think each man has just lost someone near and dear to his heart. But maybe there is a reason for that, because to most men who put their lives into this sport, losing at this pivotal time feels not unlike losing a close friend. Any person can challenge these facts, but when they do, you will now that these are the ones who have never tasted this most bitter of defeats.
(We now see the many men who have tasted defeat because of the glorious title. From guys like Jeff Christianson and C-Rock, who've both held the title three times, to Shane Solomon who held the title for a day due to retiring from injury. Finally we see Dave Santini and Mortis Valley holding the US Title, both of whom have held the title respectively the longest.)
VOICE: But for each story of things lost there is another story, one not of defeat and dejection, but of victory and elation. These stories come from those who have given it their all, and then given a little more, and found what was needed to grasp glory and not let it go. These men are the ones who have brought the glory to the United States Title.
(We see clips of many matches where guys like Low, John Williams, and Mortis Valley have successfully won the US Title for the first time. We see Lars Fredrickson and Black Dragon also win the title for the first time. Now we see Jeff Christianson beat Drake Hyde, only to have Crimson Dreams take it from him. We then see the pictures of all the champions win the US Title.)
VOICE: Now, we head into a new era in the AWA, one that will bring the change of many things. But one man does not intend to let all things change with the opening of this new era.
(We now see John Williams holding the US Title. We then see the video revert back to when he was Animosity, and beating Adam Bawm at SuperShock for the United States Title. We see the path of destruction that Animosity left, and then go back to one image of John Williams who looks to be awaiting his next challenge.)
VOICE: But there is one man that hopes to end this mans reign as Champion, a man that came ever so close one time before, and does not intend to allow the same to happen this time. Tonight another chapter in the great history of the AWA United States Title will be written. The competitors have been decided upon, the setting much the same, the only thing left to be decided is who will leave Vortex this Sunday as the AWA US Champion.
(We see a picture of both John Williams and Andy Peek starring each other down. Both look very focused on the United States Title which is placed in the middle.)
FJ: "It's finally over? Glad those two aren't on Xplosion."
HS: "How dare you say that, Frank? That was a spectacular presentation, and they will both be proud no matter who comes out the US Champion."
FJ: "I hope they hurry up, so we can get to our next Xplosion match."
("Elite" by Deftones blares over the PA as, one half of the tag champs and Shock Superstar, Andy Peek walks through the curtains to a huge standing ovation. He walks to the ring receiving the cheers from the crowd and slapping a few kids hands before rolling in the ring. Andy goes back to a neutral corner as he awaits the entrance of John Williams.)
FJ: "Great, he's actually here."
HS: "Show some respect for the kid. He only has one singles loss to his credit."
("Renegade Hero" by Forever and A Day blares over the PA and the crowd again gives a huge standing ovation as Shock Superstar, And US Champion, John Williams walks through the curtains. John slowly walks to the ring, studies his opponent. He walks up the ring stairs, looking at Andy Peek. He slowly steps through the middle rope.)
FJ: "Why couldn't he not show up, just like before?"
HS: "Frank, where is your respect?"
FJ: "It's with the better roster... The Xplosion roster."
HS: "I think John was right when he said the crowd was more on his side."
FJ: "The crowd was just as loud for both men... But when guys like Jeff Christianson, Dave Santini, and Low get in the ring, they'll blow the roof off of this place."
(John Williams is shown in the ring now taking off his United States Title. He hands it to the referee who walks over to Andy Peek to show him what he is fighting for.
HS: "These two went back and forth yesterday when they continually had interviews."
FJ: "Can this match end? I don't feel I can sit through it any longer."
HS: "It hasn't even started yet."
(With that, both men walk to the middle of the ring. They stare each other down.)
HS: "Look at that staredown. This match will be intense."
FJ: "Look, they're afraid to fight each other. Somebody throw a punch!"
(As if right on cue, right in the middle of the ring Andy Peek throws a right. Then John Williams throws a right. Andy throws another right, and they now trade rights and lefts. Andy throws one final right, but John Williams ducks under it and elbows Andy Peek in the small of the back. Andy falls forward towards the ropes, but quickly gets back to his feet. We can tell the crowd is more on Williams side, as he is Canadian. Williams walks towards Peek, who looks like he is expecting the unexpected. Williams tries to hit a quick kick to the gut, but Peek rolls under the foot and is now behind the larger Williams.)
HS: "What an exciting start to the match."
FJ: "At least they finally hit each other."
(Peek backs up a few steps as Williams quickly turns around. As soon as Williams is around, Peek sweeps him off his feet with a spear. Peek quickly takes advantage of Williams and begins punching him in the face. Peek now gets to his feet, as Williams also does so. Peek grabs Williams' head and begins pulling him up. Williams punches Peek in the stomach while he was on the way up. Peek grabs his stomach but Williams puts him into a fireman's carry position. Williams stands up and throws him over onto his knee hitting a very hard gutbuster.)
HS: "That has to hurt."
FJ: "I guess you could say that."
(Williams quickly walks over to Peek, who is laying near the bottom rope, after rolling there to clutch his stomach. Williams begins stomping at the stomach of Peek. Andy quickly rolls out of the ring, so he can take a quick rest and get away from the boots of John Williams.)
FJ: "I guess Peek learned to get out of there..."
HS: "I feel that this was a great move. It shows that he is becoming a veteran very quickly."
(Peek now puts one knee on the apron. As the referee's count reaches four. John Williams comes running trying to knee Peek in the face, but Andy quickly drops off the apron. The referee pushes Williams back and Peek rolls back into the ring, quickly getting back to his feet. As the referee moves away from Williams, Peek kicks him in the stomach and drops him with a DDT. Peek quickly back to his feet. Peek now drops a Leg Drop on Williams, who is laying in the middle of the ring. Peek goes for the pin. One... Two. And Williams pushes Peek off. Williams gets to his feet slowly, but Peek is already up and is running at him with a clothesline. But Williams sidesteps this, and Peek hits the ropes on the other side of the ring. This time Williams runs at him and hits him with a clothesline from Hell. Peeks body lands near the center of the ring.)
HS: "What impact."
FJ: "Herb, do you know who your partner is for next week?"
HS: "No."
FJ: "I have sources telling me that it may be a wrestler off the current roster."
HS: "How accurate are these sources?"
FJ: "I don't really know."
(Williams now connects with a falling elbow drop. Williams quickly to his feet, but he pulls Peek up as well. Williams now goes to work back on Peek's body as he drops him in the center of the ring with a sidewalk slam.)
HS: "Williams looks to be catching fire."
(But Williams doesn't stop there. To continue putting pressure on Andy Peek, Williams applies the STF. We can hear Andy screaming in pain and telling the referee that he doesn't want to give up. After a few minutes, Williams stops holding Peek in the STF and allows Peek to drop to the ground. Now Williams just pulls up Andy's body, which looks lifeless. Williams kicks Andy in the stomach, which drops him to his knees. Williams then picks him up in a Power bomb position and throws him to the ground with force. We see Andy again roll out of the ring, this time to escape any pain which could have been forced upon him. The referee begins his count.)
FJ: "Finally, some real violence in this match."
HS: "I hope Andy's neck is all right."
(Williams this time, heads outside of the ring. He pulls Peek up, who quickly punches him in the face. Three... And then Peek hits Williams with a short arm clothesline. Four... Peek slides back in the ring. Five... Six... Williams is back to his feet. Seven... Williams is on the apron. Eight... Williams steps through the ropes and breaks the count. Peek now pushes Williams, who just got into the ring, into a corner and begins delivering shoulder blocks to the midsection of Williams. Peek then places Williams on the top rope, and heads up to the middle rope. He grabs Williams into a suplex Position, and then steps up to the top rope. Peek Superplex's Williams off the top rope. Both men are down. The referee begins his count.)
HS: "What IMPACT!"
FJ: "Wow, what a superplex!"
(Two... Three... Andy begins to crawl towards Williams. Four... Five... Andy covers Williams with one hand. One... Two... Thr. Williams kicks out at the last second. Peek slowly gets back to his feet, as Williams is on his knees. Williams gets to his feet, only this time to be hit by the running clothesline. Peek now stomps on Williams, who is in the middle of the ring.)
HS: "It looks like Peek is giving Williams some of his own punishment."
FJ: "Herb, that was the worst comment you could have ever made."
(Peek now picks Williams up, and connects with a vicious backdrop on John Williams. Peek goes for the cover. One... Two... and Williams kicks out. Peek wastes to time getting back to his feet. He begins stalking Williams waiting for him to get up. Williams slowly gets up. Peek begins running at him and Williams who turns around and surprises Peek by picking him up and slamming him down with a Spine buster. Williams stands back up and heads to the top rope. Peek slowly gets up, and Williams comes off the top rope with a clothesline. He goes for a quick cover. One... Two... Thr-)
HS: "Andy Peek is fighting for the United States Title."
FJ: "I was one would be the other. This is a disgrace to the United States Title."
HS: "Frank, you're just mad that it isn't on Xplosion."
(Williams now up to his feet, pulls Peek up by the head and Irish whips him into the corner. Williams now slowly heads in, but this catches Peek's eye, who punches him in the face. Williams is stunned long enough for Peek to go up to the second turnbuckle. Peek comes off of it with a double axe handle to the head of John Williams. Peek now picks Williams up, turns him towards the corner, and clotheslines him in the corner.)
HS: "It could be all over."
FJ: "Thank God!"
(Peek stalks Williams again. This time, Williams reaches his feet, but doesn't turn to see Peek running. Peek runs and connects with a spear, which knocks Williams into the corner. Andy grabs him from behind and German suplex's Williams, along the ropes.)
HS: "Execution Demand! It's got to be over."
(One... Two... Thr-...)
HS: "I can't believe John Williams grabbed the rope!"
FJ: "I really thought it was over."
(We can see the frustration setting in on Andy Peek. Peek now picks up Williams, who shoves Peek across the ring. Peek comes charging in only to be met with a Stun Gun!)
FJ: "Herb, I'll tell you what that move was. It hasn't been done in years, but that was the Stun Gun."
HS: "I knew that, Frank."
FJ: "Really, how come you never told me?"
(Williams now spins Peek around. Williams backs in the corner, climbs to the second rope. And then jumps to connect a Tornado falling, DDT.)
HS: "That was, It's time to Shine!"
FJ: "Like everyone didn't know that."
(Williams crawls over close enough to drape one arm on him. The Referee counts. One... Two... Thre. Peek kicks out at the last second.)
HS: "Andy Peek is really showing determination to win the US Title. This kid really deserves it."
FJ: "Actually someone on Xplosion deserves it."
(Williams looks a little frustrated. He picks Peek up, and delivers a Gorilla Press slam. Williams drags Peek to the corner, and goes up to the top rope. He jumps off attempting a 450 Splash, only for Peek to roll out of the way.)
FJ: "Now if Williams would have it that, it would have been over."
HS: "I think that's why Peek rolled out of the way Frank."
(The referee now begins a ten count. One... Both men are motion less, with Williams laying near the middle of the ring, and Peek beside the ropes. Two... Neither moves yet. Three... Four... Peek grabs the bottom rope and begins attempting to pull himself up. Five... Six... Williams now rolls over, trying to push himself up. Seven... Peek is now holding onto the top rope, trying to make it to his feet. Eight... Williams is on his knees. Nine... Peek finally reaches his feet. Peek now pulls Williams to his feet, and picks Williams up as if he is going for a Vertical Suplex. Instead, he drops him with a Brain Buster. Peek goes for the cover. One... Two... and Williams kicks out. Peek back allows Williams to sit up. This time, Peek sticks his knee in Williams back and begins pulling back on Williams arms. The referee asks Williams if he wants to tap out.)
FJ: "Now that looks painful, but it has nothing on the Low Profile."
HS: "Frank, could you call this match without mentioning someone from Xplosion?"
FJ: "You're just mad that Xplosion has the better roster."
(As the two continue to argue, we see that Williams is how up on his knees. Peek drops Williams arms, and now applies a Sleeper hold to Williams. Andy seems to sense victory in the air and John begins to slump down. But the crowd begins stomping their feet for Williams and John gets to his feet. Williams now runs at the corner and turns around, slamming Peek's back into the corner. Peek comes out of the corner and Williams puts him in a reverse press slam position, and then he drops him momentarily into a Rick Rude style neck breaker. Williams rolls over for the and hooks the leg. One... Two... Three...)
HS: "John Williams retains his title!"
FJ: "Just like Williams maneuver, for Peek, that was All She Wrote."
HS: "I'm sure there will be another match between this two in the near future."
(Peek has already made his way backstage again while Williams was still celebrating. Williams now walks up the ramp himself, but before he gets there "Calling From Heaven" gets played and the crowd cheers as Mortis Valley walks down the ramp. He walks past Williams and nods in his direction and then slaps a few hands walking down to the ring. He climbs in and takes the microphone.)
MORTIS: "Thank you. Tonight, I..."
(He doesn't get any further as suddenly "Pour Some Sugar On Me" strikes up over the PA System and much to the crowd's anger Dave "The Rave" Santini appears on the rampway. He locks sight on Mortis Valley in the centre of the ring and the pair just have a staredown as Santini slowly makes his way towards the ring.)
FJ: "Wow, what is this about?"
HS: "Well, Mortis and Santini have had their disagreements in the past, but Mortis Valley is currently Santini's boss as head of AWA Xplosion."
FJ: "They've had more than just a few disagreements, Herb. Mortis Valley FIRED Santini as AWA Commissioner as one of the first acts he did when he took over the ownership of the American Wrestling Alliance from President Gray!"
(Halfway down to the ring, Dave Santini brandishes a mic from his pocket and begins to address the new boss of AWA Xplosion.)
SANTINI: "Well Mr.Valley, it looks like our paths cross again!"
(Mortis' eyes narrow as the two continue the staredown.)
SANTINI: "But firstly, I must publicly THANK YOU!"
FJ: "Thank him? What for?"
SANTINI: "That's right, Mortis. Dave Santini is coming out here tonight to thank Mortis Valley in the centre of this ring... To thank
Mortis Valley for giving me, Dave "The Rave" Santini, the opportunity here tonight to finish the demise of The Blueprint that I started a couple
of weeks ago and to finish what I started in a match that no-one... NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON CAN STOP ME FROM CREATING AS MUCH
CARNAGE... FOR CARRYING OUT AS MUCH MUTILATION ON JEFF CHRISTIANSON AS I SEE FIT! Thanks for allowing me to end MY
Blueprint... OUR BLUEPRINT!"
(Santini reaches the ring and climbs in under through the middle rope.)
SANTINI: "So thank you, Mortis Valley!"
(The crowd is silent, unsure of how to take Dave Santini's latest comments. Dave goes to leave the ring, but stops...)
SANTINI: "Oh, one more thing."
(Dave quickly lunges forward, doubling Mortis Valley over with a kick to the midsection, before connecting with a Ravin' Driver in the
centre of the ring. The crowd boos loudly at Santini.)
SANTINI: "That was for old times sake!"
(Santini slides out of the ring, before grabbing a steel chair and sliding back into the ring. He pulls Mortis to his feet, before CRACKING him
across the top of his skull with a brutal chair shot, which sends the Xplosion boss back to the mat.)
HS: "This isn't a good career move, Santini. Not that I care."
FJ: "It's good entertainment though."
SANTINI: "And this was for FIRING ME BEFORE! As if you would ever think that I would work FOR YOU AGAIN!"
(Santini drops the mic by the lifeless form of Mortis Valley and exits the ring as "Pour Some Sugar On Me" strikes up once more.)
FJ: "Ugh?"
HS: "What does this mean?"
FJ: "Does it mean that he's just going to make Mortis' life a living hell?"
HS: "Does it mean that tonight's match will be Dave Santini's swangsong in the American Wrestling Alliance?"
FJ: "I have no idea what it means, Herb."
(After a commercial for the "AWA - The Authorities" Magazine the shot cuts back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Well, we have four matches left to go on this historic night in the American Wrestling Alliance"
FJ: "We do indeed and two of those of for each of the new brand's respective World Titles."
HS: "...and the other's likely to be a bloodbath between former Hostile Alliance and Blueprint allies, Jeff Christianson and Dave Santini, but
up next we have..."
FJ(Cutting off his co-announcer mid-sentence): "We do indeed... It's former Blueprint members Poppa and Jayson Price..."
HS(Returning the compliment): "...and the impressive Bryan Peek! The current AWA Television Champion has got to go into this match as
the favourite."
FJ: "And you wouldn't be saying that because Peek is a Shock wrestler and the other two are from the XPlosion brand, would you Herb?"
HS: "Well, it's hardly a secret that the Shock brand got all the cream of the AWA!!"
FJ: "And what about the likes of Dave Santini, Jeff Christianson, The Legendary Low and my pick for this next match-up... Poppa!"
HS: "Time will tell, Frank... Time will tell."
(With that, "Elite" by Deftones strikes up and the crowd goes wild for their obvious favourite in tonight's Triangle Elimination Match as
Bryan Peek casually wanders towards the ring. He acknowledges the crowd's reception as he climbs into the ring under the top rope and raises
both his hands in the air. The crowd's volume rises)
HS: "Here he is Frank and he looks fired up for tonight's encounter."
(Suddenly, "The Godfather Theme" by Nino Rota begins to play throughout the arena and the crowd falls into an eerie silence. The lights in
the arena dim and start to take on a rather eerie red glow as smoke begins to flow down the entrance ramp. Confusion from the crowd can be
heard as a spotlight flashes on at the top of the entrance ramp.)
FJ: "What on earth is going on? Didn't that used to be Dave Santini's entrance music?"
HS: "At one point I think so, but it certainly isn't Jayson Price's or Poppa's!"
(A figure walks through the smoke as it begins to form into a thick cloud at the top of the entrance ramp as the crowd turns their attention towards the spot light where this intruder now stands.)
FJ: "Who on earth is that?"
HS: "This is AWA newcomer Vitto Vincenzio, but more to the point, what's he doing out here?"
(Vitto Vincenzio wears a skin tight black short sleeve shirt the moulds against his muscularly defined upper body and massive tattoo
covered arms, a pair of black military style boots and black jeans. A slight grin appears on Vitto Vincenzio’s face as he surveys the crowd in
attendance as they welcome him with a chorus of insults and rude comments. A pair of unknown women make their way into the view of the
camera through the smoke as well as stand behind Vitto Vincenzio. Both women wear skin tight black latex hot pants, skin tight wife beaters and
black knee high boots. Vitto Vincenzio and the two women begin their walk down to the ring ignoring the fans at ringside as they attempt to
high five him and wave their homemade signs at him. Vitto Vincenzio stops at the ring and climbs up the stair case at ringside and waits for the
women to follow. Both women hold the ropes for Vitto Vincenzio to enter. Vitto Vincenzio slides through the top and middle ropes before the
women follow behind and stops to look at Bryan Peek before signalling for the music to be cut. Vitto Vincenzio motions for a microphone and
looks directly at Bryan Peek. Vitto Vincenzio gestures for the crowd to quieten down and the arena is again filled with silence as Vitto Vincenzio
begins pointing at Bryan Peek)
VITTO: "You Bryan Peek are clearly a weak link here in the AWA even with that belt and with talent as myself here, will always
remain in my shadow no matter what you do, who your family is or what you have done. You are the kind of wrestler that is quick to blame
others for your faults that everyone knows of no matter how many false claims you try to hide behind. You cannot face the fact that you truly
are not what you have been portrayed as and your true colours have come out like it or not. You cannot accept that you are nothing more then
an average name much like so many in this sport are these days. You like so many others in this game try being something you are not and
never will be no matter what you do or say. Wrestlers that need to survive by hyping themselves up on false pasts only end up failing in the
end as they have nothing but lies to back them up."
HS: "Who on earth does this guy think he is? He's talking to an established AWA superstar."
VITTO: "You may have been something in the past Bryan Peek but that means absolutely nothing to me. It won’t help you when
we ever met in the ring as the expiry date on your career is long past overdue and it’s time for you to move on as your days are numbered here
now. You need to find something that requires no talent or skill level as we all know talent and skill level or something that you do not possess
much of."
HS: "Does he actually know who he's talking to, Frank?"
FJ: "Haha, I like it!"
(Bryan Peek moves in towards Vitto Vincenzio close enough to look almost eye to eye. Both men stare hard at each other with neither man
backing down.)
VITTO: "Well? Do you think you have something that you believe is worth saying or are you just going to stand there breathing on me?"
(Vitto Vincenzio pauses and looks out at the crowd and receives a mild rumble in response to his words.)
VITTO: "You Bryan Peek are a second rate nobody when compared to talent as myself or any wrestler that may possess a hint of
talent even though that in itself, is rare here in the AWA. Do you understand what I’m getting at Peek? Do you need me to spell it out for you
slowly in case you missed my point?"
HS: "He's going on the right way to get a slap in a minute. What on earth is he doing out here interrupting a match that is about to take
place? I can't believe Bryan is holding back!"
(Bryan Peek remains standing firm without the slightest attempt to make a move. Vitto Vincenzio begins poking Bryan Peek in the chest.
Bryan Peek pushes Vitto Vincenzio’s hand away to prevent him from continuing to poke his finger into his chest. Vitto Vincenzio wipes his
hand on his jeans as a devilish grin slowly forms as Vitto Vincenzio shakes his head in disapproval.)
VITTO: "Well, if you must prove yourself, I’ll turn my back to allow you the first shot as that’s all you’ll get so you better make it a
good one because this is going to hurt you more then it’s going to hurt me"
HS: "Do it, Bryan!!"
(Vitto Vincenzio turns his back towards Bryan Peek allowing him the cheap shot but Bryan Peek refuses. Bryan Peek looks out to the crowd
as they cheer for him to do it but he does not.)
VITTO: "What’s the matter Bryan?! Can’t even stab a man in the back when the opportunity presents itself to you? No killer instinct when the ball is in your court or is it that you don’t have the balls to do it?"
(Vitto Vincenzio turns around to face Bryan Peek again as the devilish grin remains on his face.)
VITTO: "I’ve been given the promise like everyone else here in the AWA that a title match will be signed sometime down the road
but why wait? Why should I have to wait in the same line as so many no talent wrestlers like Jachob Rayne when I could make my own path to
follow? I was going to let the AWA brass decide who my next opponent would be after Rayne and Spire were eliminated but why allow them to
pick and chose my opponent again especially after what will happen to the others? Why give them the glory when the pleasure could be mine
of deciding who’s going to be next in line to fall victim to the Chicago Overcoat? You'd better be able to prove it when I’m in the ring against
you. Prove yourself or suffer the consequences, as this will only be just a taste of what’s to come."
HS: "And what right does he have to claim that? Eh Frank?
FJ(Completely ignoring what's happening in the ring and completely ignoring Herb's last question): "Is this match going to ever start?"
("The Godfather Theme" by Nino Rota begins to play again as Vitto Vincenzio tosses the microphone to the mat and exits the ring with the
two lovely ladies close behind. As soon as Vincenzio leaves the rampway, "Big Poppa" strikes up and the impressive Poppa arrives on the rampway with the delightful Tiffany by his side and the "Epitome of Physical Fitness" makes his way towards the ring to the waiting, Bryan Peek. He shows off his impressive physique outside the ring towards Bryan Peek as his music plays out and is replaced by "What Comes Around" by Ill Nino and Jayson Price hits the ring running, just as Poppa had entered.
Price slides into the ring and immediately ambushes Poppa from behind nailing him with a forearm to the back of his head, before spinning him around and connecting with a series of stiff kicks to the body of Poppa. Peek joins in the action and connects with a series of rights to the side of Price's face, but Poppa is quick to return to the melee and doubles Price over with a Kneelift to his midsection, before trading a number of rights and lefts with Bryan Peek in the centre of the ring. The ref signals for the match to commence as he isn't going to get anymore control over it than he has now, being satisfied that at least all three men are in the ring and no weapons have be sought after yet, the bell is rung.)
HS: "This match-up is finally underway, Frank and this inter-brand match should be a good indicator as to which of these top AWA
wrestlers will enter into their new brand with a head of steam."
FJ: "You don't need to win a match to get a head of steam when you have a physique such as the 'Epitome of Physical Fitness'., Herb"
(The match continues as Price recovers from the blow that doubled him over just a few short moments ago and takes it in turn to chop away
at the chest of both Poppa and Bryan Peek.)
FJ: "I don't think Price knows which man to go after first."
HS: "Yeah, I thought that after the words that had been traded between Poppa and Price since the destruction of The Blueprint, that Price
would have his sights set clearly on Poppa, but the history between Price and Bryan Peek is deep... very deep."
FJ: "You were saying, Herb?"
(Our attention returns to the ring, where Price had just nailed Poppa with a DDT, before blocking a series of right hands by Peek and
whipping him across the ring. Bryan returns to the centre and ducks under a Clothesline before both Superstars rebound against respective
ropes and BOTH connect with a double-Clothesline that sees both men knocked to the mat.)
FJ: "Only a couple of minutes have passed in this match, Herb and already all three men are down!"
HS: "I think Bryan and Price might have clashed heads in that collision though, Frank."
(The ref starts to count all three men out *OOC: How many people would I p**s off If I wrote this match as a Triple Count-Out after about
two minutes mwahahahaha* The ref reaches the count of six before both Poppa and Price begin to stir. Poppa is first to his feet, but as Price
gets to his he still seems to be in a bit of a daze and not entirely sure where he is.)
HS: "Wow. Price is bleeding already"
FJ: "He is?"
HS: "Yes, look. He's got blood running down the side of his face from that head-to-head collision with Peek"
FJ: "...and Peek still hasn't gotten to his feet"
(Price seems unaware of his early injury as he pulls Bryan Peek to his feet and nails him with a Snap Suplex. He goes back on the assault,
but he is interrupted as Poppa spins him around and Clotheslines him to the mat. Price is quickly back to his feet, but only to find himself being
flung across the ring with a hard Irish Whip into a devastating Spinebuster in the centre of the ring as he returns)
FJ: "What impact by Poppa. That's why I like this guy so much"
(Price partially sits up, grabbing at the base of his spine in agony but all this does is spurs Poppa on. Price finds himself being hauled to his
feet and following a Sidewalk Slam and a Release German Suplex, he finds himself back where he started)
FJ: "Poppa is putting a world of hurt on the man that took his place in The Blueprint in his absence. Watch out..."
(Frank's warning comes too late as a revived Bryan Peek, seemingly uninjured from his earlier collision of heads with Jayson Price runs
Poppa over with a Clothesline. Poppa is back to his feet...another Clothesline...and another. Poppa is up once again only to find himself on the
receiving end of a kick to the midsection and a front facelock...quickly converted into a Stalling Brainbuster as Bryan brings Poppa back down,
driving him neck-first into the mat in the centre of the ring)
HS: "A well executed Brainbuster performed there by the AWA Television Champion, Frank"
FJ: "It'll take more than a single Brainbuster to keep the "Epitome of Physical Fitness" down for long"
(With Price still grounded, Bryan takes the opportunity to go for the pinfall, as the ref hits the mat, but Poppa kicks out before the count of
two)
FJ: "I told you so"
(Bryan gets back to his feet just in time to see Price running in with a Clothesline, but he manages to duck down under it, before connecting
with a boot to the back of Price's head which sends him through the middle rope and to the outside. Poppa is now back to his feet and Poppa
and Price begins to trade blows once more. The series of four consequetive rights is ended when Poppa connects with a Neckbreaker, followed
by a Sidewalk Slam. Poppa then picks Peek off his feet in a Body Press, but Peek manages to slide down behind Poppa and as Poppa spins
around, Bryan Peek ducks under a wild swing of his right hand, before hoisting the 290lbs man above his head in what seems like a Torture
Rack...)
HS: "Here it comes... THE PEEK CULTURE. With Price still recovering outside, Peek might once again get the chance to finish this right now"
(Tiffany jumps up on the ring apron as Bryan Peek is about to NAIL the Diamond Cutter part of his patented finisher, but the ref cuts her
off, but is distracted to what events are about to unfold inside the ring as Tiffany continues to try and enter the ring)
HS: "NOOOOOOOOO!"
(Bryan Peek drops Poppa before carrying out his Peek Culture Finisher as he sees Jayson Price slide into the ring out of the corner of his
eye. He turns to face Price, but is BLASTED right between the eyes with a viscious chair shot with the steel chair that Jayson Price is now
brandishing. Peek slumps to the floor as Jayson hides the evidence and content that Poppa being eliminated from the match is now not in
danger, Tiffany climbs back down from the ringpost. The ref turns his attention back to the match as Jayson Price drops down, covering Bryan
Peek by draping his right hand over his face as the ref hits the mat and counts..... 1..... 2..... 3!!)
HS: "Nooooooooooo!"
FJ: "Oh yessssssss! Bryan Peek is eliminated and now it's between the two former Blueprint members, Jayson Price and Poppa!"
(Jayson having already eliminated Bryan Peek from the match, quickly covers Poppa, who is still grounded from being dropped half way
through the Peek Culture only moments earlier...)
HS: "Jayson could have this won here")
(...but Poppa kicks out at the count of two. Price doesn't relax though and immediately goes on the offensive. Three quick chops to the chest of Poppa has him reeling and a Standing Sidekick sees Poppa rebound off the ropes and straight into an Inverted Death Valley Driver. Price goes for another pinfall, but Poppa kicks out at two once again. Poppa staggers to his feet, but finds himself on the receiving end of a Cross Armbreaker, before Price tries to set Poppa up for a Tombstone Piledriver.)
HS: "This is OVER if Price nails this."
(But Poppa manages to slip out of Price's clutches and hits a Reverse DDT. Both men are down as the ref starts to count both men. Poppa
is first to his feet and Price gets to his on the count of five. A series of rights and lefts has Price staggering, but he manages to block the next
two and fires back with three rights of his own. The two AWA superstars continue to trade blows in the centre of the ring as Tiffany cheers on
her boyfriend and the crowd get behind Jayson Price. The melee is interrupted as Poppa nails Price with a Lowblow that somehow the ref didn't
spot. Poppa grabs the advantage and connects with a Russian Neckdrop, before charging out of the corner and hitting a dazed Price with an
explosive spear.)
FJ: "Spear by Poppa. Pin him."
(Poppa drops down and drapes an arm over the motionless Price, but Price manages to kick out just before the ref's count of three. Poppa
raises Price to his feet and sends him back down with a Vertical Suplex and goes for another pinfall, but only manages to get a two-count this
time. Price staggers to his feet once more as Poppa grabs Jayson Price around the throat. Price gasps for breathe.)
FJ: "CHOKESLAM... CHOKESLAM!!"
(But before Poppa can nail the Chokeslam, Price manages to double Poppa over with a kick to the midsection, before setting him up for the
Bufferfly Powerbomb.)
HS: "What a recovery and it looks like Price is setting him up for the "Life's Final Jest!!"
(But Poppa manages to wriggle free, before locking on a tight Waistlock from behind on Price and getting him up and over with a well-
executed German Suplex. He holds on and delivers another German... and another. The third sending Price into the turnbuckle, connecting with
the back of his head on the padded turnbuckle.)
HS: "Ouch. That's gotta hurt!"
FJ: "And that's on top of the damage that he's already sustained on his head since his collision with Bryan Peek right at the start of the
match."
(Poppa seizes the upperhand that he had now been granted, sending the dazed Price across the ring and catching him in a tight Sleeperhold.
Price at first starts to struggle, his arms flailing wildly as he tries to fight the hold, but as Poppa tightens his grip, Price starts to weaken and
fade. The ref doesn't delay at all in raising Price's arm for the first time and it falls lifelessly. The ref raises it again, but yet again it falls. The ref
lifts Price's right arm once more.)
FJ: "Price is in SLUMBERLAND right now."
(But half way down for the third time, it stops showing some life in the former Television Champion!)
HS: "Jayson Price is still in this match-up. He's fighting back."
(Jayson Price fires off three consequetive back elbows to the chest of Poppa, loosening his grip, before setting off against the ropes
running. He connects with a Shoulder Block that doesn't take Poppa off his feet and once again he sets off towards the ropes on the other side
of the ring.)
HS: "Price with a head of steam right now."
FJ:(Laughing): "That stopped it."
(Frank was right as Poppa connects with a devastating Spinebuster to the returning Jayson Price which virtually knocks any wind out him
that was present. Poppa drops down quickly and pins Price as the ref hits the mat... 1... 2... but Price kicks out. Poppa hauls him to his feet and
connects with a Sidewalk Slam. He doesn't pin him this time, but picks him back up, before doubling him over with a kick to Price's midsection
and connecting with a COUGAR BOMB!!)
FJ - "Cougar Bomb from Poppa. That's got to be it!!"
(Tiffany is jumping up and down in her corner as Poppa hooks Price's leg and the ref hits the mat... 1... 2...)
HS: "Nooooooo!"
FJ: "Yesssssss!"
HS: "Yessssss, he kicked out!"
(Poppa sits up hardly believing that Price managed to kick out of the Cougar Bomb just before the ref's hand hit the mat for the third time.
Poppa turns to the ref complaining of a slow count, but the ref shakes his head "no". Poppa bangs his fist on the mat twice as he raises Price to
his feet once more, hoisting him high above his head.)
FJ: "THE BIG-UP... THE BIG-UP!"
(Poppa brings him down to the mat with his patented Big-Up)
FJ: "Kick out of that, Price"
(The ref hits the mat as Poppa hooks Price's leg once more, and counts..... 1..... 2..... 3!!! Tiffany joins Poppa in the ring and celebrates as the ref holds Poppa's arm aloft.)
FJ: "He's done it. Poppa has won. Poppa has just proved to the entire AWA who should have been in the Blueprint in the first place."
HS: "But the Blueprint is dead, Frank."
FJ: "Not if Poppa has anything to do with it. Poppa will lead his OWN BLUEPRINT! But what a match we have seen here tonight, Herb."
HS: "And we've got three fantastic matches still to come"
(A short video package highlights some of the things that happened earlier tonight, such as the reformation of NPD, John Williams defending his US title in a hard-fought match and Dave Santini attacking Mortis Valley. We then briefly cut backstage where Low and Ramona are talking in the catering area. The camera catches Ramona putting something into her purse, but as Low realizes they are being filmed he immediately pushes the camera man away.
We return to the arena and "Made You Look" by Nas hits and the entire Vancouver crowd get to their feet and look at the rampway.)
FJ: "No way . . ."
HS: "It can’t be . . . "
("Made You Look" continues to play loudly and many fans begin to cheer.)
FJ: "C-Rock’s back!!!"
HS: "And listen to the fans cheer him on!"
(C-Rock appears on the rampway and stands there as more fans begin to cheer the returning superstar and former 3-time
AWA United States Champion. C-Rock is wearing a baby blue hooded sweatshirt and a pair of dark denim jeans. He takes
his right hand and brushes the right side of his trademark blonde shaggy hair. He begins to walk down the rampway and smiles
as the fans reach out to high-five him. C-Rock gives the fans high-fives and slaps their hands. He almost reaches the ring,
except for his attention is caught by a fan’s sign. C-Rock grabs the sign and holds it in front of him for the pay-per-view
camera. The sign reads, "BRING BACK C-ROCK!" C-Rock hands the sign back to the fan with a smile and then slides into
the ring underneath the bottom rope. C-Rock walks over to the furthest corner and steps up to the second turnbuckle. He
looks out over the crowd and holds up his clinched right fist high up into the air and the crowd erupts. C-Rock brings his arm
down and then climbs down off the second turnbuckle. He walks along the ropes asking for a microphone. He’s handed one
and walks to the center of the ring.)
FJ: "I hope he doesn’t do the same thing he did back at Super Shock a few months ago."
HS: "You mean when he said three words and then disappeared again?"
FJ: "Yeah, back in the Garden in New York City."
HS: "Well, maybe now we’ll find out where he’s been and what he’s been up to."
("Made You Look" stops playing and C-Rock holds the microphone up to his face.)
C-ROCK: "It’s been . . . "
(C-Rock stops talking as the fans don’t stop cheering. He pulls the microphone from his face and looks around with a smile. A medium "C!! . . . . ROCK!! . . . . . C!! . . . . . ROCK!! . . . . . C!! . . . . ROCK!!" chant breaks out throughout the arena. C-Rock politely thanks the crowd without the microphone and lets them continue the chant for a little bit. After a while, he holds the microphone up to his face once again.)
C-ROCK: "It’s been too long. I missed this too much. I missed you guys."
(The crowd pops again.)
C-ROCK: "It’s been a long time since I’ve been in an AWA ring, even longer since I’ve wrestled in an AWA ring, and a long, long time since I’ve heard you guys chant my name. I haven’t wrestled since Classic when me and Dark Warrior won the
AWA Tag Team title. Now, everywhere I go I get the same questions: Where have you been? When are you coming back?
Well, I tell you where I’ve been. I went home. I took some time off. I finally got the surgery on my ankle that was plaguing my
career. And now that I’m 100% and refocused on what I need to do, I’m back!"
"A lot has changed in the American Wrestling Alliance since Classic, and some hasn’t, but for the most part this is a whole
different place. In just six months, this whole wrestling company has become so hostile that a split within the roster had to take
place, and now the two flagships of the AWA are separated and controlled by two different men. On one side you have the Xplosion crew under the direction of Mortis Valley and on the other you have George Slater’s Shock. Which show is better?
Who has the better wrestling? Which show is more exciting? The answers to those questions haven’t become apparent yet, but
will shortly. You see whatever show I go to will be the answer to those questions. And where do I fit into the equation? Am I
going to go to Xplosion or am I the next superstar on Shock? Well, we don’t know the answer to this yet. I don’t even know
the answer yet. You see, as of right now I’m a free agent. Mortis Valley . . . . Slater . . . . let the bidding begin!"
FJ: "Good, that means he isn't Slater's final pick."
(C-Rock smiles and drops the microphone on the mat as the fans begin to cheer. "Made You Look" begins to play again and C-Rock exits the ring.)
HS: "What a shocking return!"
FJ: "That’s one expensive free agent. We may have a bidding war coming up."
(As C-Rock disappears backstage we go to a highlight video detailing the relationship of "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson and Dave "The Rave" Santini, going back to their days in The Hostile Alliance along with Mortis Valley and The Highlighters. Scenes from The Blueprint in 2003 are shown, as well Santini's actions as AWA commissioner. We fast forward to the return of The Blueprint and their later destruction at the hands of Santini. We then return to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Ladies and Gentlemen this will be a war, this one has been brewing for a long time and finally its going to hit the roof. Our next match is a Taipei Death Match between Dave Santini and Dark Warrior".
FJ: "Frank this match is not going to be for the weak at heart, or for those losers over on Shock."
HS: "At least Shock’s commentator knows what he is talking about."
FJ: "Yes, but Xplosion’s commentator can kick Shock’s commentator’s ass."
HS: "Right, hey did you see Adam Bawm around anywhere today."
FJ: "What..... Bawm, where..... HELP!"
HS: "That’s what I thought."
(The action gets started backstage where we see Dark Warrior, his fists are taped and he is now dipping them in the glue and broken glass solution. After Jeff leaves this scene we see him start to walk towards the ramp. The lights flicker, and then light blue lights at the entrance way towards the ring appear as "I’m Going Out" by Mobb Deep begins to play. We then see on the video screen, the words Grand Slam Appear, and it goes away to the words of the BluePrint, which goes way as the next words we see are Jeff Christianson. In between each of these are short two move highlight reels from Jeff Christianson's past matches. After his name disappears, we see more clips of Jeff Christianson, with the first being him holding the World Title. After Jeff gets to the ring a long pause is seen, we then await the arrival of Dave Santini and Lethal Louise. "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard begins to ring through the arena. As the music starts, the lights go out. About fifteen seconds later, the arena is filled with red lights, before two red beams come to rest on the figure of Dave Santini, before a massive explosion gets set off. Santini makes his way to the ring, with his fists taped, the glass is glimmering in the red light, and the Equalizer, dipped in broken glass, is in Dave’s left hand. The camera focuses on the Equalizer and we notice that it too has been covered in the Taipei death match solution, we see pieces of glass stuck to all angles of the steel rod as Santini makes his way to the ring.)
HS: "My God I am shocked that Mortis Valley would even sanction a match like this. Two of Xplosion’s top stars could lose their careers tonight."
FJ: "It’s all about the smash mouth wrestling brand, we bring the show all the time, that’s what makes us better than you Shock Sissies."
(Santini and DW stare each other down for a long and intense minute at least. Santini is taunting Warrior to come closer and closer, DW is carefully doing this now. Suddenly, we see George Slater walking onto the ramp, a microphone in hand.)
FJ: "What is he doing here, he's not their boss."
SLATER: "Well, well, well... I'm sorry to interrupt you two fine AWA Xplosion athletes here right now, but I have a very important announcement to make. One week ago time constraints forced me to delay revealing who my final pick for AWA Shock was. I couldn't make the announcement at Shock either for various reasons."
"However, I can make the announcement now. Ladies and gentlemen, the final pick of AWA Shock IS....."
(Slater points towards the entrance as "Pour Some Sugar On Me" begins to play. Slater than points towards the ring and screams...)
SLATER: "DAVE 'THE RAVE' SANTINI!"
HS: "WHAT!?!?"
FJ: "Oh no, Dave, STAY!"
(The fans are booing and Christianson looks upset. Santini is smiling boradly, as is Slater.)
SLATER: "Mortis, I know your head hurts right now, but the promotional war between the two of us has only just begun. Happy bidding on C-Rock!"
(Laughing loudly Slater is walking to the back again as the fans almost boo Santini out of the building. DW suddenly makes a lunge towards Santini and lands a single jab to the center of Santini’s lip.)
HS: "My God, look at that, one simple light punch and Santini has been busted open."
FJ: "What do you expect, his hands are covered in broken glass. I can't believe Dave has signed with Shock. How is that even possible?"
HS: "Well, maybe Mortis failed to let Santini sign the needed paperwork to make it official."
(Santini checks his lip and sees the blood, he wipes it off with his upper arm, and now inches closer to DW. DW throws again this time missing. Santini delivers a knee to the midsection, and then measures DW with a thunderous right, that lands directly between Dark Warrior’s eyes. DW hits the canvas and we see that he too has been lacerated. Santini does let up though, he mounts DW and starts to throw wildly. Some punches are landing and DW is just trying to cover up now. Santini then reins a few more punches down and finally dismounts DW. Santini backs off a few steps and tells the Vancouver crowd exactly what he thinks of them. DW is slower to get up, but he does make it to his feet almost right away. We see the face of DW is deeply lacerated and he is bleeding all over the place. His arms are also cut from the punches he was blocking.)
HS: "This is already getting REALLY ugly"
FJ: "This is great, come on Santini, do it again."
(This time both men start circling each other before stopping and trading punches, fist DW throws a flurry and then Santini answers back, both men stand and trade haymakers for a long time, the shards of glass taped to their fists is obviously taking its toll as with each punch thrown a little more blood is flowing. The crowd is standing now applauding the guts taken to stand and throw in this atmosphere. Finally DW gets the upper hand when he drops to his knees and comes up with a low blow that, slows down Santini.)
FJ: "A blantant low blow by DW, he should be disqualified."
HS: "Frank, it's Last Man Standing rules, he can not be disqualified."
(DW immediately jumps to what we had assumed his game plan would be, he kicks the ankle of Santini numerous times, until Dave lifts his leg and hobbles around on one foot. DW then grabs the leg of Santini, and sweeps his other one out. DW plants his knee into the ankle of Santini and drops to the mat, driving the ankle into the canvas. Santini screams in pain and grabs for his ankle, as he does this DW, wrenches on the injured ankle, Santini tries to grab his ankle to release the pressure, but DW takes his glass-covered taped fist and drives it into the side of Santini’s skull. Santini flops backwards. DW then stands up and drives the ankle into the canvas again, before letting go and exiting the ring.)
HS: "Dark Warrior has a brilliant game plan, Santini won’t be able to answer the 10 count if he can’t stand up."
FJ: "I hate to say it but I agree with you on that one, on the other hand, DW cant answer the count if Santini knocks him out."
(DW goes under the ring for a moment, and pulls out a chair, he tosses it into the ring, and then goes back under again, this time pulling out an extension ladder. He slides it in between the ropes.)
FJ: "The hardware is coming out now. I can’t wait to see how it gets used."
HS: "This match may well be the end of both of their careers."
FJ: "Didn’t you already say that?"
(Santini has pulled himself to the corner now, and is slowly making his way to his feet. DW grabs the chair, and slowly stalks Santini. DW comes in and takes advantage of Dave’s pain, he jams the chair into Dave’s mid section, and then rings it off of Dave’s back. Santini goes down, and DW backs off and commands the ref start the count. 1.......... 2.......... 3.......... 4.......... Santini starts to stir and then uses the ropes to get up. This time however DW grabs the ladder and charges full speed into the corner trying to crush Santini with the ladder. But Santini dives to the left and avoids the collision as Jeff smashes his face off one of the rungs. Santini grabs the chair and as Christianson spins around dazed, Santini whacks his across the face with a thunderous shot that puts the crowd in awe.)
FJ: "That’s the Santini I know, he damn near took his head off."
HS: "This is getting out of hand."
(Santini looks seriously pissed off right now, and mounts a defenseless DW, Santini repeatedly plants his right hand into the side of DW’s head. We can not tell whose blood is whose now, as both men are completely covered in the crimson substance. Blood is dripping from Santini’s face and mouth and head, onto DW, as DW is bleeding all over the canvas. Santini gets up and stomps numerous times on the face of DW. He lifts him up, Santini places DW’s head between his legs and hoists him up, then drives him down with a Jack knife power bomb. The ref now counts. 1.......... 2.......... 3.......... 4.......... 5.......... but Christianson gets up before 6. Santini looks upset and walks towards the weary DW, he doesn’t even attempt a wrestling move, however he delivers a full force kick in the gonads. Dw drops immediately and cough and gasps on the canvas. Santini now exits the ring himself and consults with Louise, she nods her head in approval. Santini shows us a little power by lifting the steel stairs and tossing them into the ring as well.)
HS: "Oh no, we have a chair a ladder and the ring steps in the ring now."
FJ: "This is going to get really good."
(The crowd is cheering on DW to the best of their ability, Santini however grabs the chair and drops it down violently on DW. Then again and again, he continues to do so. The sick look on Santini’s face is unmistakable as he grabs DW’s face, and screams into it.)
FJ: "Santini is teaching DW a lesson."
(Santini lifts a nearly lifeless DW to his feet, and then attempts a vertical suplex, however DW floats over and nails a German Suplex. Both men are dowm now and the ref starts to count. 1.......... 2.......... 3.......... 4.......... 5.......... 6.......... 7. Finally DW starts to stir, as does Santini. Both men are up almost simultaneously. DW then ducks a punch and drops Santini with one of his own. Santini tried getting to his feet as DW takes a breather. We see the blood flowing from both men, and it has stained the canvas red.)
HS: "It hard to tell the two men apart, all we can see folks is two men covered from their waist’s up in blood."
FJ: "Maybe this match wasn’t such a good idea, both men are risking serious long term effects from this type of blood loss."
(After a brief pause DW grabs the ladder, and then stands it up, he drives the butt end of it into Dave’s face. Then opens it and places Santini’s ankle in between the rungs. Dark Warrior then climbs the turnbuckle. And poses for a moment. He dives off the top.)
HS: "OH MY GOD.......... HIGH DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
FJ: "DEAR LORD.......... NOT ON SANTINI.......... ANYONE BUT SANTINI!"
(DW flies and hits his five star frog splash on the ladder which in turns collapses on Santini’s ankle. DW bounces off and screams as he has likely broken some ribs from hitting the ladder. However Santini is screaming in pain, because his ankle is likely broken now. DW is up, and holding himself up with the ropes as he clutches his stomach, Santini is still screaming, and holding his ankle. He tries to get up but can not as his ankle gives away. The ref starts to count. 1.......... 2.......... 3.......... 4.......... Santini lifts his bad ankle and lifts himself with the ropes. Santini hops to the center of the ring, DW meets him half way, DW throws a punch but Santini ducks, DW hits the ropes, he rebounds and heads right towards Santini. Santini dives forward planting his shoulder into DW’s mid rift, with a spear. Both men lay motionless again. Santini is up first this time. He picks up DW, and drives a few more shots into his face. Santini’s hands are stained with DW’s blood and vice versa. He whips DW to the ropes, and attempts a back breaker, DW flips over him in the sunset flip.)
HS: "A good counter but I think it’s the wrong match for this."
FJ: "Well he was originally born in Canada, can you blame him?"
(Santini goes over with it, but instead of quitting there DW grabs the severly injured ankle, and rolls Santini onto his back. He locks in his patented Ankle lock. Santini begins to scream in pain now, he is leaping and diving towards the ropes. He does finally reach them, but the ref can not break the hold.)
HS: "I thik DW has him Frank, he can hold this as long as he wants. Eventually the pain will cause Santini to pass out."
FJ: "No!!!!"
(Amongst Santini’s screams Louise comes over and hands Santini "The Equalizer"... Santini takes it in both hands, and in one last ditch effort, he twists himself and throws the most hellacious two handed shot ever seen. The glass covered Equalizer nails DW right in the cheekbone, causing blood to spurt from the wound it opens. DW’s head gets rocked backwards, then he simply slumps to the ground.)
HS: "Oh dear lord, that shot must have crushed DW’s face."
FJ: "I believe you’re right Herb. Look at it, his eye is completely closed from the swelling already."
(We then see the face of DW, it is swollen and a steady stream of blood is pooling on the mat. Santini takes his time getting up. He then lifts DW up who is almost completely lifeless. He leans DW over the ropes and hops towards the ladder. Santini strategically sets the ladder up. He then grabs DW, one rung at a time Santini hobbles up the ladder. He has a hand full of DW’s hair which forces DW to climb with him. The men reach the top of the ladder. Santini hooks DW’s arm around his head. He looks backwards, then lifts DW into a vertical suplex, from the ladder..........)
HS: "No, they’ll both be killed!"
FJ: "DAVE..... THIS IS TOO MUCH!"
(We hear Louise screaming at Dave not to do it. Then in an instant Dave Santini’s ankle gives out. The topple from the top of the ladder, all the way down on the steel stairs that Santini placed there. Santini lands with a sickening thud, we see his head smash off the steps, he brings DW down with him in a awkward position, causing DW’s head to go directly into the steps, but he falls partially on Santini.)
HS: "DEAR GOD NO!!!!..... GET SOME DAMN HELP!!!!!"
FJ: "THEY"RE.......... THEY’RE.......... DEAD!"
HS: "Jeff Christianson has had a history of neck injuries, Santini may have just broken his neck. But I think that Santini has also broken his own back."
(We see both men laying there completely motionless, in the same position that they feel in. We focus on the part of DW’s face that we can see. His one eye is swollen completely over. The Equalizer shot, has opened a gash along his cheek that is still spraying blood. His arms and his shoulders are completely covered. His mouth is filled with blood as well, he is coughing a little, but with each exhales comes a trickle of blood indicating some internal bleeding. We now look at Santini, his face is a crimson mass. He too is now coughing up blood, which is running from the corner of his mouth. The referee starts the count, he looks petrified at the sight.)
FJ: "Herb, are you alright?"
(The camera goes to Herb, how is bent over and almost underneath the table. We hear him gagging and choking from the blood loss that we are seeing. Parents in the Vancouver crowd are covering their children’s eyes. We focus on the ramp and a team of paramedics are already on scene, they have two stretchers now. We come back to DW and Santini, the ref has reached 5.......... 6.......... 7.......... we see Santini move a little. He moves DW’s arm off of him. Now DW raises his head a little. .......... 8.......... Santini is now trying to get up, as is DW.......... 9.......... Santini plants his foot, DW is on his knees..........)
HS: "Oh my God what a show these men have given us tonight!!!!!"
FJ: "I can’t believe they’re even alive, but who’s going to win??????."
(At the count of 9 and ¾ Santini’s head drops and he falls backwards as DW pushes himself up and onto his feet right on the count of 10! DW wins! Dark Warrior takes a step back and tries to raise his arms but he completely collapses in a heap of blood. The paramedics are already on the scene with the stretchers ready. We see pools of blood under both men. The paramedics are placing neck braces on both combatants. We see Louise at Dave’s side pleading for him to be alright. They place both of them onto stretchers as well, as they roll both men out of the ring, into waiting ambulances.)
HS: "I don’t believe what we just seen, look at the carnage, look at the blood. I couldn’t even stomach it."
FJ: "This may be the last time we see either of these men."
HS: "We will definitely give an update as soon as we hear the conditions of both our combatants."
FJ: "That’s right, Dark Warrior got the victory, but in reality NO ONE won, neither man will ever be the same after this blood bath."
HS: "Fans, officials and EMTs will have some work to do in here. We will take you back and explain the history between Low and The Fish."
(Another highlight package is played and we go back to last December, where a man named The Voyeur made his debut. Shocking The Fish with how he treated his valet, 5B, The Voyeur secured a Cruiserweight title match and cheated to win the title. At Super Shock before the Christmas break, The Voyeur voluntarily gave up the Cruiserweight title in an "I quit" match. Later that night, The Voyeur took of his mask and revealed himself to be Low. A few more confrontations followed, including last week on Xplosion, where The Fish left having the upper hand.)
FJ: "Up next is the real main event of AWA Vortex, as..."
HS: "No, it's not. The LAST match is, Frank."
FJ: "Oh, I'm so looking forward to my new colleague. Up next we will see The Legendary Low defend his AWA World title..."
HS: "...of Xplosion..."
FJ: "Shut up! Low will defend against The Fish."
(The arena lights go out and stay out for a few seconds. The come back up in blue and it appears as if the whole arena is under water. "Trendy" by Real Big Fish hits the speakers and water shoots from the stage. The fans go crazy as The Fish sprints down the ramp, slapping a few hands along the way. He slides into the ring and climbs the ropes to celebrate with his Fish Fanatics.)
FJ: "Hey Herb, how about we trade The Fish for, say, ANYBODY from the Shock roster, huh?"
HS: "Well, The Fish would certainly be a welcome addition to a show featuring so much evil."
FJ: "Awww, you sound so cute, Herb. NOT!"
HS: "The Fish has been the most dominant Cruiserweight Champion in AWA history, breathing life into a division that many said was dead. He won that title three times and held it longer than anybody else. Add to that a reign as AWA TV Champion and you have an accomplished wrestler that is going for his first World Heavyweight title tonight."
FJ: "But Fish is simply too small, to inexperienced in these big time situations, he is not a good enough wrestler to overcome his opponent tonight."
("I Wanna be Your Dog" hits the speaker and the Canadian fans begin to cheer, even though the cheers are a lot less loud now that the popular Fish is the challenger. Ramona A. Stone steps out from the back and then points towards the entrance as The Legendary Low steps out, the AWA World title belt around his waist. The two walk down the ramp and Ramona yells at a few Fish Fanatics. As one yells back at her, Low grabs the fan by his shirt and takes away his pro-Fish sign, tearing it up. The Fish tries to storm out of the ring and aid his Fanatic, but the referee is able to hold him back and clam him down.)
FJ: "I bet The Fish still doesn't understand how he is playing right into Low's hands."
(Low's music fades out and he slides into the ring. The two are standing in opposite corners, eyeing each other. Low takes the belt off of his waist and hands it to the referee who holds it up to the fans' cheers. The lights then are dimmed and an eerie music hits. Slowly but surely the chain link steel cage is lowered over the ring.)
FJ: "Fans, the rules are pretty simple – there are no rules. In order to win this match you have to pin your opponent or make him submit. This is about who the better man is tonight and NOT about who can climb faster, so you cannot win this match and the AWA World title by escaping the cage."
(The cage has now been lowered all the way and is surrounding the cage. The referee signals for the bell and Fish immediately explodes with a running dropkick on Low, sending him into the corner.)
HS: "Whoa, Low didn't expect that!"
(Fish has now climbed to the second rope in the corner and is pummeling Low, as the crowd counts along..... 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... before Fish gets to 8, however, Low carries him into the middle of the ring and hits an inverted atomic drop. Fish stands there, holding his groin, and Low goes into the ropes. He goes for a lariat, but Fish ducks and dropkicks the turning Low's knee. Fish then grabs Low by his neck and tights and throws him against the cage wall.)
HS: "The Fish is the first one to make use of the steel cage."
(Fish rams Low's head into the cage one more time, but Low is able to counter Fish's third attempt by putting his foot against the cage wall. Low then hits a knife edge chop to Fish's chest, earning the crowd's "Whoooo!". He follows up with three more chops and then Irish whips Fish into the ropes. Fish ducks Low's attempted elbow, goes up and hits a beautiful huricanrana. Low is up on his feet and suddenly Fish jumps up, pushes his feet against the cage and catapults himself towards Low, hitting him with a flying bodypress. The cover gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out.)
HS: "Great move by The Fish."
FJ: "Yeah, it was cute. I wonder when the wrestling will start."
(Low now doubles Fish over by hitting his knee into the challenger's midsection. Low then Irish whips Fish into the corner and charges him, but Fish gets his foot up and Low runs right into it. Low's back now faces Fish and Fish gets up on the second rope. He then climbs onto Low's shoulder and seemingly wants to go for a victory roll, but instead he spins around and goes for another huricanrana, but this time Low holds on and Fish is hanging upside down. Low then manages to position Fish's head between his legs and hits a piledriver. Fish slowly rolls over and Low immediately applies a cross armbreaker.)
FJ: "Here you go, there was the one mistake Low needed and now he'll take Fish's arm apart."
(Fish, however, is able to roll Low up and covers him for 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Low regains control with a kick to the midsection and then slams Fish headfirst into the cage. Low turns around and uncharacteristically plays to the crowd, not realizing that Fish doesn't seem to be bothered by being thrown into the cage. He knees Low into the back and then hits a reverse DDT. Cover gets him 1..... 2..... and a kick out.)
HS: "The Fish seems to have a pretty thick skull."
FJ: "Maybe he's just too dumb to feel it."
(Fish now with an Irish whip of his own, but he it is reversed. Low ducks to backdrop Fish, but Fish somersaults over Low, then grabs him by the trunks and neck and sends him into the cage once again face first. Fish repeats the previous action, but a third attempt fails as Low hits Fish's midsection with an elbow. Low now hits Fish's head against the cage, but again Fish doesn't seem to feel it. Instead he rams Low's head against the mesh again and again and again, before rubbing his face across it.)
FJ: "Hey, ref, step in there!"
HS: "No disqualification, Frank. Besides, wasn't that the type of violence displayed on Xplosion that you like?"
FJ: "Look, Low is bleeding!"
(And indeed Low is cut open. Fish now sends Low into the corner and kicks his midsection a few times. Low, however, turns the tables on Fish and pulls him into the corner instead. Low now hits a chop, followed by a kick to the leg, then another chop, another kick and a final chop. Low then wraps Fish's arm around the top rope, bending it very far. Fish, though, counters with a well-placed right fist to Low's head. He then grabs Low's head, gets up on the second turnbuckle and hits a perfect tornado DDT. Fish covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a close kick out.)
HS: "Low seems to be in trouble here. Maybe he did underestimate The Fish after all."
FJ: "Low doesn't underestimate anybody. He is just a little slow today."
(Fish pulls Low up by the hair, but Low counters with a low blow. He then sends Fish into the cage, but again Fish doesn't seem bothered the least bit and immediately charges Low. Low ducks, though, and Fish accidentally shoulder blocks the referee, sending him to the mat.)
FJ: "Ouch."
HS: "The referee is down, but he isn't out."
FJ: "Now he is!"
(Just before Frank said that Low dropped a knee right into the grounded referee's neck. As Fish gets back up and turns around, Low forces Fish to the ground, applying a Fujiwara armbar. Low pulls back very far and Fish screams in pain. However, Low releases the hold and then walks over to the cage wall.)
HS: "What is he doing?"
FJ: "Ramona has just opened her purse and seems to look for something."
(The camera focuses on Ramona and we see her pulling a fork out of her purse which she gives to the bleeding Low through the mesh wire. Fish is still holding his arm from the Fujiwara armbar, but Low doesn't give him time to breathe. Low grabs Fish's arm and then rakes the fork along his upper arm several times!)
HS: "That man is so sick!"
FJ: "Oh, come on Herb, this is just good Xplosion action. And you said it yourself – no disqualification."
(Blood starts pouring down Fish's arm and he is screaming in pain, yet Low is relentless. He stabs the fork into Fish's arm a few more times before letting him sink to the mat. Low doesn't stop, however, as he now sits down on Fish's back and pulls his head up. He then takes the fork across Fish's masked forehead a few times, slowly but surely destroying the mask.)
FJ: "Now we're going to see his ugly face!"
HS: "Look at this!"
(As part of the mask is going to pieces we can see that Fish was wearing some sort of protective foam piece beneath the mask, which seemingly softened the blows when Fish was smashed into the cage. However, now his forehead is exposed and Low is about to put the fork to Fish's head, but the referee gets back up just in time and takes the fork away from Low.)
FJ: "He shouldn't put his hands on the World Champion."
(Low seems angered by the referee's actions, but Ramona yells from the outside that Low should focus on his opponent. Low does so by repeatedly stomping Fish's arm and shoulder. He then picks him up and slams his head into the steel cage, this time definitely causing some damage. Fish is on all fours now and Low extends Fish's arm, following up with a series of elbows to the arm. Low then puts his knee onto Fish's shoulder, forcing him face first into the mat and at the same time pulling the arm back and twisting the wrist.)
HS: "There goes Low's technical expertise and his affection for working on one body part."
(Suddenly, though, Fish rolls over, jumps up to his feet, grabs Low and slams him into the cage wall. Fish then Irish whips Low, but Low reverses it. Low ducks again and this time Fish counters with a swinging neckbreaker.)
FJ: "A rare mistake by the World Champion."
(Low is back up and Fish hits an exclamation point DDT.)
HS: "All those DDTs and the busted up forehead can't be too good for Low's head."
(While Low is holding his head Fish makes his way to the top rope. He rests a little in the corner, leaning against the cage. Low slowly gets up to his feet again and as he turns around Fish catapults himself off the top rope and hits a flying back elbow. Fish covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a close kick out! Fish now hooks Low's head and arms and after some initial problems he lifts him up and hits the Undertow. Fish turns Low around and covers..... 1..... 2..... CLOSE kick out.)
FJ: "I have to give Fishy credit here, he's really taking it to The Legendary Low tonight."
HS: "Frank??? Did you just say THAT?"
FJ: "No..."
(Low is back up and The Fish is going into the ropes. Low, however, is able to counter with a quick belly-to-belly suplex. He covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Low now forces Fish onto his stomach by kicking him into the short ribs. Low then applies a camel clutch, but instead of pulling back on Fish's jaw he applies a dragon sleeper while holding the clutch.)
FJ: "I've never seen Low use that hold."
HS: "This is called the dragon clutch."
(The referee asks Fish if he wants to give up, but Fish doesn't give in to the hold. After a while, Low releases the hold and instead goes back to the Fujiwara armbar, using one hand to pull and scratch Fish's open upper arm wound.)
HS: "Look at the blood pouring down Fish's arm."
FJ: "Well, Xplosion certainly is the show for the bloodthirsty AWA fan."
(Low finally releases the Fujiwara armbar again. He pulls Fish up and pulls the mask a little more apart, exposing Fish's forehead but not enough for us to see his face. Low then grabs Fish and rams his head into the steel cage. Low now grabs Fish's head and then smashes him face first into the opposite side of the cage, then back again, opposite side, and back again, finally busting Fish's exposed forehead up as well.)
FJ: "Haha, he's playing Fishy Ping Pong right now!"
HS: "As if we didn't have enough blood already tonight."
(Low now tries a chicken wing-crossface, apparently going for the Low Standard, but Fish is able to prevent Low from locking his hands. Instead, Fish breaks the attempt with a low mule kick and then hip tosses Low over his shoulder and onto the mat. Low is quickly up on his feet again, but Fish keeps the advantage with a kick to Low's midsection. Low is double over and Fish puts his head between hi legs. He pulls him up, hooks his arms and hits the Deep Sea Driver!)
FJ: "This already knocked Low out on Xplosion!"
HS: "I wonder what it does to him after the amount of blood he lost!"
(Fish covers! He referee counts 1..... 2..... 3!)
FJ: "Oh no!"
HS: "No!"
FJ: "No, no, no!"
HS: "Oh no..."
FJ: "Yes! Low got his foot over the bottom rope! Thankfully!"
(Indeed, Low leg is draped over the bottom rope. Both men are back up and Low still seems a little dazed. Fish now pulls Low up and goes for a cradle piledriver, but Low is able to shift his weight and get his feet back on the ground. He moves upwards and backdrops Fish to the mat. Fish quickly gets back up and is hit by a kick to his midsection. Low goes for the Low Stunner, but Fish is able to push Low off and into the ropes. Fish with another kick to Low's midsection and then he hits a fisherman DDT.)
FJ: "What does he plan now?"
HS: "Fish is now pulling Low towards a corner."
(Fish is now climbing to the top rope again. Once he's there, though, he looks around the crowd that is cheering frantically for him. Fish doesn't waste any more time and instead climbs to the top of the cage.)
FJ: "What is that idiot doing? He can't win by running away!"
HS: "I don't think that's what his plan is."
(Fish is now on top of the cage and looking to his Fish Fanatics one more time for approval. Fish then jumps off of the top of the cage and goes for the shooting star legdrop!)
HS: "OH MY GOD, FLYIN' FISH!"
FJ: "HE MISSED!"
(At the last split-second Low is able to roll out of the way and Fish crashes awkwardly on his legs. The fans gasp and Fish is screaming in pain, clutching his legs. Low pulls himself up on the ropes. He then grabs Fish by his feet, pulls him into the middle of the ring and applies the Low Profile!)
HS: "Fish took a really big risk and he paid dearly for it."
FJ: "Low has him good in the middle of the ring. Fish can't grab the ropes from there, Low is just too strong and too heavy for him!"
(Fish seems to be getting weaker by the second, but he refuses to tap out. Suddenly, he is able to quickly spin his upper body around and face Low. Low loses his balance and drops onto his back. Fish goes for a figure four leglock, but Low is able to push him off.)
FJ: "I can't believe it."
HS: "Fish almost fish-like got out of the Low Profile and almost applied an uncharacteristic figure four leglock himself."
(Low now walks towards Fish, but Fish surprises Low with a kick to his stomach. Fish tries the same again, but this time Low catches his foot. Fish, however, gets up and hits an enzugiri. Low slumps to the mat and Fish again plays to the crowd. Fish now slowly pulls Low and starts to prepare for the Fin-isher!)
HS: "The Fish wants to end it now and become the World Heavyweight Champion!"
(Fish hooks Low's arms and turns around. He has problems, though, lifting the heavier Low up. Low is able to struggle free and kicks Fish into the midsection, followed by the Low Stunner. Low crawls over to Fish and covers him..... 1..... 2..... NO! Fish kicked out at the very last second!)
FJ: "I can't believe that!"
HS: "Everything Fish said about his desire to win the title was true!"
(Low is now sitting on the mat and yells at the referee, then at Ramona. He looks really upset now and hits the mat in frustration.)
HS: "First the Low Profile, then the Low Stunner. Fish survived them both."
FJ: "What else can Low do?"
(Low is now back up and starts slapping Fish. He pulls Fish back up and goes for yet another Low Stunner, but once again Fish counters, sending Low into the ropes and hitting a spinning heelkick as he returns. Low is up again and Fish uses the middle rope for a springboard moonsault, but Low catches him on his shoulder and then runs forward, smashing Fish's head into the cage wall. Fish staggers back into the middle of the ring. He attempts to regain the advantage, but Low is able to grab his arm, turn around and drop him to the mat to apply...)
FJ: "The Low Standard! Low just locked in the Low Standard!"
(Fish is struggling to get near the ropes, but Low is pulling back and sitting down low on Fish's back, bending him way up. The Fish Fanatics are yelling "Fish! Fish!" and Fish still refuses to tap out. As Low puts even more pressure on his bleeding arm, however, Fish has no choice but to finally tap out.)
FJ: "Yes! Yes!"
HS: "Low retains his version of the AWA World Heavyweight title!"
(The referee calls for the bell and "I Wanna Be Your Dog" is played as the Canadian fans give Low a mixed reaction for a change. Ramona gets the belt from the timekeeper and waits for the cage to start being raised until she rolls into the ring. Low grabs his title belt and raises it high into the air.)
FJ: "He is a great Champion after all!"
HS: "Look at this, this is disgraceful."
(Just before exiting the ring, Low looks down at Fish once more and spits on him. We go to our final highlight package of the night. We go back in time and are reminded of the history between Brian Williams and Adam Bawm. In mid-October Williams and Low double-crossed Bawm, attacking him -the special referee- in a match between the two. At Last Man Standing Williams, Bawm, Low and Zeal met in a violent "I quit" match in which Zeal won the AWA World title. At Wrestlefest V Williams finally won the title. Bawm disappeared for a while after a plane crash but returned recently. We are then show highlights of Bawm's return to the AWA... and Brian Williams' dispicably playing games with Kelly Gunns in her hospital bed.)
FJ: "That was great, Williams means fun."
HS: "I would be quiet if I were you or do you want Bawm to visit you again in the parking lot?"
FJ: "......."
HS: "Now fans, we have just been informed that George Slater made the follwoing match a no-disqualification match due to what occured in the hospital in Charlotte just a few days ago."
FJ: "Haha, Bawm is dead."
("Time Bomb" by God Smack begins to play and Adam Bawm steps out from the back to a cheering crowd. Bawm makes his way to the ring and slides in then takes up a position in the far right corner of the ring and waits for Williams.)
HS: "Well folks here we go, the AWA Shock World title is on the line, and joining me at the table for what will be the last time, Frank Jackson."
FJ: "Yeah, thank god, I have had to deal with you for too long, Herb."
HS: "Thanks Frank. Now lets get our match going."
("Untill it Sleeps" Begins and as the music starts, the lights go out after a long pause, a single orange light falls on the ramp way. Smoke billows from the entrance creating an ominous haze that hides the 7 footer, all we see is his silhouette walking down the ramp. The light leads Williams slightly so we never actually see him until the lights come back on when he has reached the ring. The smoke dissipates and Williams is set to go. The ref takes the title from him and holds it up to show what is on the line. The bell rings and both men get set.)
HS: "With this match just recently being made no Disqualification, both men seem ready to hurt the other."
FJ: "Ha, I hope Bawm gets his."
HS: "We will see Frank, but there is no doubt this is going to be one hell of a match."
(The two very large men stare each other down for a while until Bawm throws a right hand, which connects with the jaw of Williams. Williams returns the favour nailing Bawm with a right of his own. The two trade blows in the centre of the ring before Bawm finally gets the advantage and backs Williams up to the ropes. He then goes for a whip, but Williams reverses and pulls Bawm back for a short clothesline which sends him to the mat. Williams drops and elbow on Bawm and heads to the outside. He then reaches under the ring and pulls a trash can out and tosses it into the ring. Williams then slides into the ring and grabs the trash can and lifts it high above his head. He waits for the still slightly groggy Bawm to regain his feet. Once Bawm has reached a vertical basis Williams quickly drops him again severely denting the trash can in the process. Williams then puts the dented can under his arm and drops on the face of Bawm. He tosses the can aside and goes for an early cover 1..... 2..... Kick out.)
HS: "Williams nearly took Bawm’s head off with that trash can."
FJ: "I know, doesn’t it suck?"
HS: "I thought you liked Williams?"
FJ: "I do, but it sucks that he only nearly took his head off."
HS: "Wonderful."
(Williams again slides out of the ring and looks around. Then methodically heads for the time keepers table, where he tosses an official aside and takes the chair he was sitting on. Then Chair in hand he slides back into the ring and stalks towards Bawm who has reached his feet. Williams begins to raise the chair into the air but as he is bringing it down Bawm lifts his foot and sends the chair crashing back into Williams face. This causes Williams to stager back and drop the Chair. Then Bawm charges Williams and drops him with a clothes line. Bawm then quickly drops a leg across Williams chest and rolls off and he heads to the outside.
Almost as if he has a plan in his head he moves directly to the timekeepers table. Once he gets there he quickly grabs the ring bell and a devilish smile falls appears on his face. He then makes his way back to the ring and slides in. He makes his way to Williams who is now up to his feet. Bawm raises the bell in the air but before he can bring it down Williams drills him in the midsection causing Bawm to stumble backwards slightly. Williams then follows the midsection shot up with a hard left hand to the head, which causes Bawm to dropt he bell and take another step back putting him right up against the ropes. Williams steps back and charges at Bawm looking for a clothesline, but Bawm drops down and rolls Williams over the top to the outside. But somehow Williams manages to land on his feet. Williams turns to the unknowing Bawm and grabs his feet and pulls him outside the ring as well.)
HS: "This could get real ugly real quick out here."
FJ: "We can only hope."
HS: "No, you can only hope."
FJ: "Oh, you better run and hide, Herb, there might be blood."
(Williams grabs Bawm’s head and delivers a right hand. Bawm follows up the right with a left and another left. Williams stagers back but then fires a right hand back at Bawm. Bawm swings again but Williams ducks and slams Bawm’s back hard against the ring apron. Bawm does into go down so Williams again slams his back into the apron. This time Bawm falls to the floor, and as he does Williams is quick to take advantage and puts his boot across the throat of Bawm, and he holds the choke for about five or six seconds before releasing it.
He then goes under the ring and pulls out a table, which he set up just beside Bawm. Williams then heads over to grabs Bawm, but as he grabs him Bawm pulls his right arm out from under the ring and sprays Williams in the face with a fire extinguisher. This sends Williams Staggering, and Allows Bawm time to gather himself. Bawm then still with the extinguisher in his hands makes his way over to Williams who is still slightly mixed up from the dry ice being shot into his eyes. Bawm raises the Extinguisher high and clubs Williams right on top of the head with it, which causes him to fall to the ground nearly unconscious. Bawm then with an evil smile slams the fire extinguisher into the back of the head of the prone and defenceless Williams.)
HS: "MY GOD. This is getting very brutal very fast."
FJ: "And listen to this Canadian crowd, they are loving it."
HS: "Adam Bawm seems to be bent on getting a measure of revenge on Williams for his terrible actions this past week."
FJ: "Yeah, but Brian is just playing with him right now."
HS: "Yeah Frank, that blood coming from his head is a great prop."
(Sure enough the extinguisher shot from Bawm has busted the top of Williams head wide open. Bawm sees the blood and it is as if it only makes him more aggressive. He kneels over the downed Williams and starts Pummelling right hands into his head. After a few hard shots Bawm gets back to his feet and pulls Williams with him. He then spies the table and takes Williams over and lays him on the table and slides back into the ring. But his attention is diverted due to movement at the top of the ramp, Bawm looks to the entry way to see a coffin being pushed down to the ring by a few men. Bawm looks at it and an angered look comes over his face. He walks over to the far ropes and yells something at the men that have left the coffin at ringside. During this time of distraction Williams has managed to climb back into the ring and has a chair in hand. He waits for Bawm to turn back around and belts him with a hard chair shot. This causes Bawm to fall to the mat and Blood to begin to flow from his forehead. Williams then takes the top of the folded chair and drives it hard into the abdomen of Bawm.)
HS: "This is sick, and what in god's name is that coffin doing out here?"
FJ: "I don’t know Summers, but it pissed Bawm off so I like it."
HS: "Well, both men are now a bloody mess, and things appear far from over here."
FJ: "Good. MORE BLOOD!"
(Williams tosses the chair aside and looks at the bloody Bawm, and then at the coffin outside of the ring. He then heads to the corner and climbs to the top rope. Then he leaps off and delivers a diving head butt that connect with the shoulder of Bawm. Williams is stunned himself momentarily, but then rolls over and covers 1..... 2..... KICK OUT!!)
HS: "How the hell did Bawm kick out of that!?!?"
(Williams not relenting gets back to his feet and heads outside and collapses the table where he had been placed earlier. Hew brings the table into the ring which brings an excited roar from the crowd. Williams then heads to the far side of the ring and sets the table up. He in turn sets Bawm on it and again turns to the corner and heads for the top rope. Once he gets there he looks down at the nearly unconscious Bawm and gets ready to jump when the coffin suddenly springs open. Williams looks to see what has happened and a shocked look falls over his face.)
HS: "That’.s.. That’s Kelly Gunns, and she does not look all that hurt to me!"
FJ: "Well, she will be, Brian Williams does not look to happy with her presence!"
HS: "She is supposed to be out cold in a hospital somewhere in North Carolina!"
(Williams face turns from shock to anger, but before he can do anything Bawm is up on the top with him, Bawm hits him with a hard right hand to the midsection, followed by a left to the head which stuns Williams slightly. Bawm then hooks Williams for a superplex.)
HS: "Oh my god, Bawm is gonna try and superplex Williams through that table. If he hits this it's gonna be over and Bawm will be the Champion."
FJ: "No way, this can't happen."
HS: "It's going to, Frank, we may have a new CHAMPION!"
(Bawm goes to lift Williams but in mid air Brian reverses and shifts his wait delivering a variation of a sit out face buster and driving Bawm’s head and face hard through the table. Williams is also stunned but after a few seconds manages to get an arm across the chest of Bawm. The ref falls into position and counts 1..... 2..... 3!!!!)
HS: "DEAR LORD. That was sick. Adam Bawm may be hurt badly."
FJ: "Yes, great move, HA HA."
HS: "Well, Williams pulled this one out, but neither man looks all too much like a winner right now."
FJ: "That’s right, but Williams is still the Champion."
HS: "Yes, he is for now, but Frank, I have a feeling this one is far from over."
("Until It Sleeps" begins to play and the referee hands him his title belt. Kelly immediately tends to Bawm. Williams slowly gets up and then makes his way up the ramp, celebrating with his belt. The camera then cuts to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Fans, this has been AWA Vortex. Herb Summers and Frank Jackson say..."
FJ: "What?"
HS: "Do you realize that this is the end for us?"
FJ: ".........."
HS: ".........."
(Herb offers his hand to Frank, but Frank shakes his head, prompting some boos from some of the fans. However, the boos turn to cheers as Frank dramatically hugs Herb and kisses him on the cheek. As the World Champion walks up the ramp with a slight grin, we fade to black.)
