AWA HELL ON EARTH 2004, January 25th, 2004, Las Vegas, NV, MGM Grand Garden Arena
(The AWA logo flashes across our screen which then goes totally black. A beautiful shot of Planet Earth is shown and a slow heartbeat can be heard. At every beat we see black-and-white scenes from the past weeks of AWA action...
...The debut of Eternal Undying, taking out The Peeks and later NPD...
...John Blaze facing off against Quade DeSade...
...Scenes from matches of Jeff Christianson and Joshua Carpenter...
...Dave Santini attacking Damien Kross...
...BlackJack and The Fish at each other's throat after being eliminated from the tag team tournament...
...Evan Spire making his return to the AWA by interrupting The Legendary Low...
...Jaeger Khrushchev and King Chozen winning the AWA Tag Team title...
...Jayson Price joing The Blueprint and Brian Williams holding the AWA World title close to his chest...
...Suddenly a frightening scream by a woman is played at maximum volume and our blue Planet Earth turns into a fireball. Carmina Burana starts playing and more scenes from all twelve men competing in Hell Bowl tonight are shown. Finally, the words Hell On Earth 2004 slide across our screen and we are taken into the packed MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the fireworks go off)
HS: "Welcome everyone to the first pay-per-view of the year! My name is Herb Summers and I welcome you to Hell On Earth 2004!"
FJ: "My name is Frank Jackson and I'm just glad I can cash a paycheck by insulting you all night long, Herb!"
HS: "Tonight is a special night, ladies and gentlemen, as twelve men get a chance to become the AWA World Heavyweight Champion tonight. We will have singles matches an the winners will advance to the Hell Bowl Chamber."
FJ: "That's right. And furthermore Eternal Undying will take on The Peeks and NPD to determine the number one contenders for the revived AWA Tag Team title. And in a match I am looking forward to because it will be violent, Quade DeSade will take on John Blaze."
HS: "Now fans, we have been told that Evan Spire has indeed been cleared to wrestle here tonight."
FJ: "Damn, it would have been an even easier night for The Legendary Low."
HS: "Well, let's take a look at what happened earlier today."
(A graphic says "Earlier Today" and we see Evan Spire and Paul Forbes arrive at the arena ealier tonight, waving to several fans waiting outside the arena. Spire is about to walk into the arena, but suddenly the glass door is thrown shut just before he reaches it! Spire takes a step back at the last second at the glass door misses him by only a few inches. It was closed with such a force that there are a few cracks in the glass. Spire has a shocked look on his face, but obviously there is nothing wrong.)
HS: "Well, that was close. However, Evan Spire IS cleared to wrestle, he is doing well and he will take on Low tonight. One wonders who was behind that stunt with the door. It certainly wasn't Low, right Frank?"
FJ: "Nah, I don't think so."
(Suddenly, "Hardest Button to Button" by The White Stripes begins to play, as the lighting dims and the ringside fans begin to boo. Yellow lasers begin to flash around the ringside area. On the video wall, one single video begins to play - it shows Adrien D'Augbine holding both his hands in the air, victoriously, the picture colored red. Then the shot breaks away to the infamous logo saying "Made in France" in the middle of a box. This then splits away to five smaller logos on the monitor, then ten, then finally fifteen, before rejoining as one large logo, and looping the shot of Adrien again. A crimson spotlight hits the entrance way, where Adrien D'Augbine steps out from behind the curtains, his arms raised in the air and looking upwards as well, the scarlet cape that adorns his back swaying side to side. He moves his hands with the beat of the music, and then with a smirk, finally stops to look down and around at his jeering audience.)
HS: "What does he want here? He doesn't have a match tonight."
FJ: "But he should have one!"
(Adrien slowly walks down the path towards the ring, a smug smirk on his face, stopping to insult various ringside fans. He gets up onto the ring apron, then turns around and slowly raises each arm in the air. He then turns around and enters the ring through the second rope, and quickly raises both his arms in the air, as the fans continue to boo him. He then climbs the nearest turnbuckle with his arms in the air, a smug smirk evident on his face as he overlooks the people that hate him. Adrien is wearing a pinstriped suit along with a blue tie, seeing as he has no match tonight. He reaches between the middle rope and jerks the microphone away from the ring annoucer. Adrien begins to pace back and forth across the ring and smirks at the crowd.)
ADRIEN: "This… is truly a disastrous mess tonight. A pay-per-view without me! What is this? This is not complete at all without the AWA’s most acrobatic superstar EVER! You people disgust me!"
(The fans begin to jeer even louder at the last sentence but it soon quiets down.)
ADRIEN: "Speaking of disgusting... that ill-mannered, incompetent, fool DeSade has a match tonight. And I don’t! What is this we are falling into? Armageddon? That is why I would like to... what the...?"
(Suddenly Adrien drops the microphone and starts yelling in the direction of the entranceway as "Sadness" by Enigma hits and we see Quade Desade stalk out onto the ramp, his face showing an angry scowl. Quade slides in under the bottom rope and jumps right into Adrien’s face. They both stare each other down with a cold silence until Quade rudely grabs the microphone from Adrien’s hand and puts it up to his mouth. Adrien slaps the microphone from his hands and Quade balls his hands into fists, as does Adrien. Quade looks as if he is going to throw a punch but he turns around abruptly as we hear the fans burst into a mix of cheers and boos as George Slater walks out onto the entranceway. Quade yells at him "What do you want?". Slater then puts the microphone up to his mouth.)
SLATER: "Watch your motuh, Mr. DeSade! I will not have you speaking to me like that! I’m sure you two would like to fight each other right now, wouldn’t you? Well you’ve already got a match, DeSade, so you’re going to have to wait until XPLOSION!"
(Quade spits over the top rope in Slater’s direction and Slater seems to grow angry.)
SLATER: "And since both of you seem to want it so badly and since both of you have such a bad behaviour, ruining the planned order of this show, you will have the pleasure of comepting in a no-disqualification match!"
(Slater stuffs the microphone into the pocket of his suit and storms out of the arena. Adrien begins to snigger behind Quade, a smug smirk on his face. Quade turns around and throws a right hand at Adrien, hitting him in the side of the face. Adrien falls to the canvas, taken by surprise, and rolls out of the ring. He then begins to walk backwards up the ramp, holding his face and pointing at Quade in a threatening way. "Sadness" strikes up and Quade smirks blandly at Adrien, following him up the ramp. Adrien disappears behind the curtain and we hear small cheers as Adrien cowardly retreats.)
HS: "Quite the unexpected start for our first pay-per-view of the year 2004. Anyway, let's take you back to what led to our first match tonight."
(A highlight video is played detailing the what happened between Eternal Undying, The Peeks and NPD over the past few weeks. We see Whisper making his return on January 11th, debuting his team of the returning Phoenix and Vampire, Eternal Undying, by taking The Peeks out of the AWA Tag Team title tournament. Highlights are shown of EUD's first two matches against The Peeks and NPD, which they both won, before we return to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Eternal Undying have yet to be defeated here in the AWA. Tonight one of these teams earn a shot at the AWA Tag Team Champions later this week."
("Lies" by Evanescence plays over the PA as Eternal Undying make their way to the ring. The crowd boos and the two slowly trod down the aisle to the ring. As they reach the ring, "Elite" by The Deftones blares over the system. Bryan and Andy Peek quickly head towards the ring followed by Audrey. The crowd cheers the two, but Eternal Undying doesn’t seem impressed by the crowd support. Lastly, "Boys in the Hood" plays as NPD appears at the top of the ramp to the crowd's boos.)
FJ: "You know, Herb, I think Eternal Undying has this match in the bag! They’re the eternal undead, how can you beat that?"
HS: "We’ll have to see about that, I don’t think the Peeks are going to just roll over and give up. Here we go, the action is starting."
(In the ring Andy Peek, Phoenix, and Rawstarr start out first. The three men circle the ring a few times and Andy and Phoenix lock up. Rawstarr taunts the crowd as Peek and Phoenix push each other around. Finally Andy hits a kick to the mid-section doubling Phoenix over and nails a DDT. Phoenix hits the mat and rolls to the edge of the ring trying to use the ropes to lift himself.)
HS: "Wow, a big DDT right off the bat for Andy Peek. Phoenix looks shaken."
FJ: "No, no, he’s the undead, he’s not shaken."
HS: "I think you're taking the undead thing just a little too far. Oh, back in the ring Peek is going for Rawstarr."
(After hitting the DDT Andy jumps to his feet and charges at Rawstarr. Rawstarr tries to move but is caught by Andy’s arm and taken down with a clothesline. Andy gets back to his feet and is caught with a superkick to the back of the head. Andy goes down and Phoenix picks up Rawstarr, Rawstarr fights out and nails a desperate punch. Phoenix lands a kick to the gut and whips Rawstarr into the turnbuckle. He goes for a body splash but Andy catches him by the head and slams him to the mat.)
HS: "I don’t even think that move has a name! He used Phoenix’s momentum against him!"
FJ: "Hey, that’s cheating!"
(Peek starts to lift Rawstarr onto the turnbuckle.)
HS: "I think he is going for the X-Ecution already!"
(Rawstarr lets Andy climb up and then grabs Andy in a bear hug and dives back into the ring. The two men collide with the mat, Andy taking the brunt of the impact.)
HS: "What was that?"
FJ: "I don't know, but it worked!"
(Bryan tries desperately to get Andy’s attention. All three men in the ring begin to crawl towards their partners. Phoenix reaches Vampire first and tags him in. Vampire races to Andy and covers him. 1..... 2..... Andy kicks out.)
HS: "Still too early for that."
(Rawstarr tags in Big Bad Blue. Andy struggles to get up but is assailed with boots from Vampire. Bryan leans as far over the ropes as he can and slaps his brother on the shoulder. Before Vampire even realizes it Bryan grabs him by the head and guillotines him on the top rope. Bryan rolls into the ring and is met by a clothesline from Big Bad Blue. On the outside Rawstarr has began lining up tables and chairs around the outside of the ring.)
HS: "What is that maniac doing?"
FJ: "I don't know Herb, but I think I’m gonna like it!"
(Vampire back elbows Bryan and goes for Blue. Blue hits a defensive kick that doesn’t faze Vampire. An uppercut to the stomach bends Blue over and Vampire picks him up in a gutwrench slam. Bryan spears him from behind bending Vampire’s back and sends Blue crashing down onto of Bryan. Vampire hits the ropes and hangs on them clutching his back. Bryan shrugs Blue off and reverse DDTs Vampire before covering him. 1..... 2..... Blue kicks Bryan out of the pin.
Out of the ring Phoenix confronts Rawstarr who is opening a chair. Phoenix knocks the chair of Rawstarr’s hands and hits a face buster onto it. As Phoenix stands he is caught by a diving splash from Andy Peek off the apron. The two men crash into other chairs that liter the outside. Inside Vampire hits a low blow on Bryan, sending the crowd into a hysterical fit. Bryan rolls away and Vampire once again turns to Blue. Blue catches a boot to the face and bounces off the ropes. Vampire lifts him into a suplex and holds him there taunting. Bryan makes it to his feet and charges at Vampire who has his back turned. Bryan jumps and nails what kind of looks like a cross body block to Vampires upper back, also catching Blue’s lower back. Vampire stumbles forward and hits the ropes. Blue swings free of the suplex and grabs Vampire around the neck. He uses his momentum to launch Vampire over the ropes and send him crashing through a table set up on the outside. Blue lands on the apron with a smile and rolls back into the ring. His smile quickly disappears though as he is hit with a Peek Cutter.)
HS: "Whoa, Vampire went through the table and Bryan just hit his finisher. This could be over!"
FJ: "But they are the undead, they can’t lose!"
(Bryan rolls Blue up and ref drops to count..... 1..... 2..... 3! "Elite" plays over the PA again as Bryan stands up and plays to the crowd.)
HS: "Well, it looks like the Peeks will have the first shot at the new AWA Tag Team Champions!"
(We cut to a commercial for The Best Of Hell On Earth DVD due out in March. We then go back in time to Super Shock where John Blaze and Quade DeSade wrestled in the 4-way match that ended Nash's career in the AWA.)
HS: "Up next is the trial by arms match between John Blaze and Quade DeSade. Ever since Super Shock have these two men been at each other's throat and tonight they look to settle their dispute."
FJ: "What is a trial by arms match, Herb?"
HS: "It's basically a lumberjack match. However, the only way to win this one is by knockout from a weapon shot."
FJ: "Exactly."
("Victory" by Puff Daddy shoots up and we see John Blaze jog down the rampway slapping fans' hands as he goes. In his right hand he has a long black leather strap. Blaze steps into the ring intently and poses on one turnbuckle, then jumping down to meet his opponent.)
FJ: "A leather strap? How original…"
("Sadness" by Enigma reverbs from the speakers; heavy industrial chords highlight the Latin Gregorian chant. Then in a moment respite only the heavy, sighing breath of an unseen woman can be heard. The Lights in the auditorium are extinguished. And like a burning brimstone flood letters spelling the name QUADE DESADE form a fiery cruciform logo; and the harsh tempo resumes and the monks begin again their mantra. Bathed in the flaming incandescence of his fiery cross Quade deSade stands at the top of the ramp. Enshrouded in the faded, travel worn tailcoat he stands staring out at the spotlighted ring. It is then that the love can be felt: Ignorant of the crowd on either side of him, deaf to the jeers and insults raining on him Quade walks unhurried and uncaring towards the ring. The bright banners dissing on him and cussing him don't attract his attention. His only response is the seemingly permanent cold, crocodile grin which seems more for himself than for any would-be fan out there. Inside the ring and within the light he drops his coat and raises a horribly burn-scarred arm to each of the four corners in a mockery of a salute to the faceless crowd hidden within the darkness. Quade jumps down, in his hands are a Christian cross made of wood, about half of Quade’s size.)
FJ: "Now there’s something unique!"
(John Blaze looks as if he is going to jump right at Quade but he stops as some kind of old, cheesy rock music plays and we see the stewards come down. We catch a glimpse of Vampire, Phoenix, Whisper, Andy Peek, Bryan Peek, Big Bad Blue, Rawstarr and Adrien D’Augbine. In the distance we hear a bell ring and Quade begins to roll his shoulders casually. John Blaze puts no hurry to starting the match either as he kicks his left leg out then his right, then squats into a grappling position. Both men signal for the other to come towards them but both won’t budge, they just keep there position. The crowd begins to boo at the stand-off but when John Blaze turns towards them, they begin to cheer. Blaze points to himself then Quade and the crowd roars with approval. Blaze shrugs and charges Quade, sticking his forearm out in his direction. Quade throws up his cross and Blaze’s forearm harmlessly hit’s against the cross.)
HS: "No surprise at who would win a popularity contest here tonight."
(John seems to have dropped and forgotten the strap as he backs away from Quade and charges once again. Quade puts up the cross but Blaze knocks it aside and hits Quade with a diving shoulder tackle. Blaze mounts the downed Desade and sticks the points of his elbow right on Quade’s throat. Blaze pushes down, raising one knee in the air and leaning it towards Quade for extra push. Quade, out of desperation, puts his fingers into a claw like position and runs them down Blaze’s face, hitting one of his eyes. Blaze rolls off Quade, a hand clutched tight to his eye and on all fours. Quade get’s up and jog’s over to Blaze, giving him a rude kick to the behind. Blaze flips over onto his back and kicks himself onto his feet, energetically. Blaze turns around only to be met with a very solid right hand from Desade. Quade then lunges forward and hit’s Blaze in the gut with a left. Quade grabs his hair and shoves his head under his arm. Quade throws one arm up In the air, looking to be out of mockery, and jerks Blaze back into a vicious DDT!)
FJ: "You see that? Haha! Quade’s got his number!"
(Blaze’s head hits the canvas very harshly and he begins to massage his neck in pain. Quade again jerks him up by the hair and lays a swift chop across the chest. Blaze stumbles back from the chop and Quade hits another one. Blaze stumbles closer to the ropes. Quade hits one more and Blaze hits the ropes, recoiling back. Quade takes the recoiling Blaze by the tights and pulls him around him fully before letting Blaze go through the middle rope! Blaze lands more safely then Quade planned, by rolling out of it but he only gets up to be met by a cheap shot from Bad Blue. Rawstarr jumps behind Blaze and grabs a hold of his arms while Blue throws various hooks and jabs at the head and body. We see Bryan Peek and Andy Peek run around the ring in opposite ways and met where the NPD is. Andy jumps with a dropkick to Bad Blue and Bryan takes Rawstarr by surprise with a right hand. Vampire grabs the back of Blaze’s neck and throws him away from the mess, where Phoenix and Whisper stand.)
FJ: "Seems like they' continuing their match from earlier on."
(Phoenix and Whisper begin to throw some kicks at Blaze, but stop as Vampire picks Blaze up by the neck. Vampire holds him up there, shaking him about but as he holds him there, Adrien D’Augbine comes running down towards them, on top of the crowd barrier! Adrien leaps forward, off the barrier and rips Blaze right out of Vampire’s hands, hitting a bulldog on him. Vampire glares at Adrien and throws a hand on his throat as Adrien shakes his head, his eyes wide. Vampire nods but Adrien throws his foot forward, hitting vampire with a low blow kick. Vampire kneels down and Adrien flees. Blaze has finally rolled in the ring, while outside of the ring is pandemonium! The Peeks are fighting with NPD, Adrien is running around the ring and Eternal Undying is chasing him. Quade seems to have not seen Blaze roll into the ring and instead is watching the action outside with a smug smile. Blaze picks up his leather strap and slowly approaches Quade with it.)
HS: "Yes! Nail him!"
FJ: "NO! Turn around Quade! TURN AROUND!"
(Despite Frank’s warnings, Quade stares unfazed at the carnage. Blaze is now directly behind Quade. Blaze holds his right hand above his head and the fan’s cheer in approval. Blaze grins and then throws his hand forward, belting Quade across the back with the leather strap! Quade jumps in the air from the impact and falls to his knee’s, holding his back in pain! Blaze jumps onto one knee and wraps the strap around both his fists, leaving some slack in the middle. Blaze throws his hands over Quade’s head and pulls the belt back on his throat, trying to choke him. Quade tries to push his thumbs under the belt to loosen the grip, but can’t get under the stout leather. Blaze squats down some more and rolls to his back, pulling his fists back with him. The grip of the belt grows even tighter as Blaze puts his feet against Quade’s back and pushes away. Quade’s face color is starting to turn to a red-bluish color. Blaze finally let’s go of the strap and he poses to his fans.)
FJ: "Quite some hero!"
(Quade is on all fours, holding his neck and gasping for all the air he can get. Blaze doesn’t let him rest and jerks him up by the hair. Blaze hangs onto him like an Irish whip but instead, pushes Quade forward and on the way back he runs his shoulder into Quade’s face. After doing this about three times, Quade begins to stumble but Blaze still has a firm grip on him. Blaze winds back and launches Quade into the turnbuckle. Quade hits it with great impact, but doesn’t sink at all. Blaze runs forward and Quade drops down to his stomach and throws his legs up in the air. Blaze trips over Quade and hits his bottom jaw on the turnbuckle pad. Blaze stays on his knees, his head lying on the turnbuckle pad. Quade gets up to his feet and picks up the wooden cross he brought down to the ring! Quade picks Blaze up into a back drop position and keeps him on his shoulder. He then let’s Blaze slide off his shoulder and onto the top turnbuckle and lets him sit on it. Quade pulls Blaze’s shoulders back and lets him hang by his knees! Quade picks his cross back up and holds it up to the crowd!)
HS: "What in the hell is he doing?"
FJ: "Blaze is in for a big surprise!"
HS: "Like you know what he’s doing…"
FJ: "Matter of fact, I do!"
(Quade slowly scales up to the top turnbuckle, taking his time. Quade stands atop the third turnbuckle and holds the cross in the air. He then jumps off the turnbuckle and brings the cross down into Blaze’s groin area!!! Condemned with the cross! Blaze rolls off the turnbuckle and lay, writhing in pain. Quade has a grin on his face as he nudges Blaze several times with his foot. Blaze rolls onto his back and Quade steps onto the second rope, smirking at the crowd. We see Blaze slowly rise to his knee’s behind Quade. Blaze then jumps up with all his might and nails a mighty nasty low blow! Quade is taken by surprise, and falls over the top rope, right on top of Bryan peek. Quade jumps up to his feet and slides in the ring, but Bryan and Andy peek both grab him by the leg’s. They pull him back out and begin to lay in some vicious knife edge chops to the chest! Bryan lays in a swift elbow to the face and Quade falls backwards, hitting the back of his head on the metal ring pole. Quade sinks to a sitting position as Rawstarr and Bad Blue rush into the Peeks. Eternal Undying and Adrien D’Augbine jump into the fight and it’s an all out brawl outside of the ring!)
HS: "This is complete carnage!"
(Suddenly we see that Quade DeSade is gone. On the other end of the ring, Quade crawls out from under the ring and rests for a bit. Quade slides back into the ring and turns Blaze abruptly around, nailing a vicious spinebuster! Quade jumps up to his feet and grabs the cross again. Quade stands on the first rope and jumps off, bringing the cross down on Blaze’s chest! Blaze rolls to his feet and Quade charges the cross into Blaze’s gut. Blaze doubles over in pain and Quade drops the cross. Quade gets behind Blaze and grasps him around the waist. We then see Blaze fly through the air as Quade whips him back in a german suplex. Quade rushes into Blaze with a slide to the chest, pushing his foot harshly into the gut region. Quade rolls out of the ring, avoiding the stewards on the other side and reaches under the ring. Quade comes back up for a second and grabs the cross which is in the ring. He pulls it out towards him and we hear the crowd go into a HUGE fit of boos.)
HS: "Holy s**t! Quade just lit that wooden cross on fire!"
FJ: "Haha! That’s why they call him the fiery cross!"
(Quade holds the cross into the air, the flames licking the end of the crossand sending a small smoke into the air. Quade slides into the ring carefully, not wanting to drop the cross. Blaze is slowly making his way to his feet, oblivious to the dangerous object which Quade holds. Blaze is up on all fours as we see Quade place the cross on the canvas, the flame inches away from thecanvas. Quade sneaks up behind John Blaze and grabs him into a full nelson lock! He brings him to the corner which is closest to the cross and begins to scale the turnbuckle, the lock growing more painful. Blaze taps on his shoulder but the referee stares on, not able to end the match except from knockout. Quade lifts Blaze up onto the first turnbuckle and picks him up into a position for an atomic drop or something of the sort. Quade lifts Blaze as if to go for an atomic drop but instead, with Blaze still on his shoulder jumps forward, sending Blaze onto the FLAMING CROSS BACK FIRST!!!!!)
HS: "OH MY GOD!"
(After this a huge "Holy shit" chant starts up and the referee stares on in horror. The flame continues to burn Blaze’s back, but finally smoldering as he turns over. The referee slides out of the ring and signals to the rampway for help. We hear the bell ring as Quade looks into Blaze’s pain-filled eyes with a very cold look. Quade smirks as "Sadness" blares out and paramedics come out with stretchers and we see them placing some bandages over Blaze’s back, before placing him onto the stretcher.)
HS: "Quade DeSade is the winner here tonight, folks, but more importantly, John Blaze may be seriously injured!"
FJ: "Yeah, well, that's just bad luck. He shouldn't have gotten involved with DeSade!"
(The EMTs along with Blaze quickly leave and we are now left with a very peculiar scene. The flaming cross is stuck almost an inch into the canvas, a small flame still glowing at the top. All stewards leave, among much shoving, spitting and trash talking and as "Sadness" starts to die down, Quade looks at the devastation that lies before him. Suddenly "Pour Some Sugar On Me" strikes up over the PA system and Dave "The Rave" Santini appears on the rampway, a mic in his left hand and his infamous Equalizer in his right. Quade looks towards the rampway at this intrusion as Santini makes his way towards the ring.)
HS: "Great, look who's decided to turn up"
FJ: "It's the Great Santini. What more could you want?"
(Santini slides into the ring as he trades verbal abuse with DeSade.)
SANTINI: "Quade deSade. Shut your god damn mouth. Now it seems to me that our little Quade deSade has a little issue with Dave "The Rave" Santini. In fact, I'd go as far to say as though Mr. deSade doesn't know exactly what he's getting himself into when he speaks out of turn towards "The Great Santini", isn't that right, Quade?"
"So I thought it would only be fair to come down to this ring and share a few thoughts with yourself, after all you owe me a very big favour, I did after all leave you the scraps of John Blaze to feed off after I destroyed him this past week. Anyway Quade...
(Suddenly Dave Santini is interrupted as "St.Anger" by Metallica blares out over the PA system.)
FJ: "What the..."
HS: "It can’t be..."
FJ: "...but he’s fired and after what Santini said about him being a failure and a total letdown when he returned to the AWA..."
HS: "Not to mention that the other man inside the ring is the VERY man that resulted in him being fired."
(Santini and deSade turn around shocked as NASH hits the ring. The 6ft 8inch monster climbs into the ring over the top rope and launches himself towards Santini and deSade, clotheslining deSade down to the mat. Nash turns to face Santini, towering over the former AWA World Champion.)
HS: "Nash, meet your maker. The question is is Nash going to put Santini in the same place as he just has deSade?"
(Nash pulls back his right fist is if about to strike Santini, however something appears to be stopping him. He hesitates, then looks like he’s about to strike down the man that brought him to the AWA.)
FJ: "It looks like Nash is having second thoughts on whether he should attack Dave Santini or not."
HS: "GO ON... Hit him!"
(It appears that something clicks inside Nash’s head and he suddenly turns around and hauls Quade deSade to his feet, holding his hands behind his back as Santini NAILS deSade across the top of his head with The Equalizer, cutting him open. Nash holds him on his feet as Santini doubles deSade over with a kick to the midsection and SENDS HIM CRASHING to the mat with a devastating Ravin’ Driver!)
(Santini picks the mic back up.)
SANTINI: "It seems we have a returning AWA superstar to our midst tonight... and let me welcome back to the AWA... and the newest member of the Blueprint Alliance... NASH!"
(Santini holds Nash’s right arm aloft in the air as he looks down at the bloody deSade as "St.Anger" strikes up once more and the duo of Dave "The Rave" Santini and Nash exit the ring.)
FJ: "Wow. I don’t know how he’s managed to do it, but it looks as if Dave Santini has managed to get Nash re-instated into the AWA and in doing so, The Blueprint really are now looking like a force to be recognized."
(We cut backstage to where the AWA's backstage interviewer Belinda [remember her??)] is standing with Evan Spire and Paul Forbes.)
BELINDA: "Evan Spire, tonight you will make your return to the ring after a long injury. You will take on The Legendary Low and will get the oppo---"
(Belinda stops in midsentence with a loud scream as a huge masked man, probably around 6'6" and 300 pounds nails Spire with a crutch. Spire drops to the ground and the masked man stands over him. The man takes a wild swing with the crutch, but Spire rolls out of the way and is able to take the crutch away from the man. He takes the crutch and hits the masked man over the head, sending him to the ground. Spire then pulls the guy's masked off, revealing former AWA Tag Team Champion John Irons. Spire shakes his head and then quickly heads back into his locker room.)
HS: "What was that all about? "The Hired Gun" John Irons? I thought he hung up his boots after being destroyed by Mortis Valley two years ago."
FJ: "Well, that's what I thought as well. I assume he was just looking for another quick payday. After all, he is "The Hired Gun" and could probably used the money offered to him The L... ots of people that would pay him to do their dirty work."
HS: "Ummmm, Frank? Wasn't Irons the bodyguard of Low at one time?"
FJ: "Oh yeah, I forgot that!"
HS: "Yeah, sure you did. Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, we are now readying ourselves for the first match of Hell Bowl between Jeff Christianson and Joshua Carpenter. Remember, the winners of the next six singles matches will all compete for the World title in the construction that hangs above our heads."
(The cameras show the impressive Chamber for a few moments.)
FJ: "Well, this is it Herb. One of my favourites to walk away with the title when that huge monstrosity lowers itself tonight"
HS: "Jeff Christianson certainly hasn’t been quiet in the run-in to Hell On Earth, that’s for sure, but if he thinks young rookie, Joshua Carpenter is going to be a walk-over tonight, he’s got another think coming"
FJ: "Of course he’s going to be a walk-over. He is the Dark Warrior after all and I’ve never seen Jeff Christianson this determined about anything in the AWA"
HS: "I’m not saying it won’t be one of Carpenter’s toughest matches in his entire career, both present and future, but from what I’ve seen of this young lad. He’s not going to lay down for Christianson"
FJ: "I’m not expecting him to. I’m expecting Dark Warrior to lay him down for him"
HS: "Frank, that rookie would love to be in that match tonight when six of this companies finest AWA Superstar’s battle it out for the American Wrestling Alliance’s biggest prize…and I just KNOW that he will do everything in his power to make that dream come true"
FJ: "He can try all he wants, that won’t make a damn scrap of difference, Herb"
HS: "…but I think we’re about to find out now"
("Right Now" by Korn strikes up and the ex-Army Rookie appears on the rampway, much to the crowd’s delight. He looks around the crowd, somewhat overawed by the enthusiasm of the huge audience before staring upwards, above the ring at the enormous structure that will lower itself in tonight’s Main Event Hell Bowl Chamber Match. He acknowledges the crowd’s support and hits the ring running, diving in under the bottom rope and jumping up and down inside the ring)
HS: "He seems well up for tonight’s match, Frank and the crowd are right behind him"
FJ: "Of course he’s up for it, Herb. He’s about to face one of this sport’s greatest-ever participants…speaking of which…"
(Frank is cut short as "I’m Going Out" by Mobb Deep blares over the PA system and the impressive figure of Jeff Christianson, wearing his blue and white BluePrint jumpsuit, appears on the rampway. The crowd’s reaction instantly changes to one of intense booing as he mocks them by signalling around his waist, indicating that he will be going home the World Champion tonight. He gradually makes his way towards the ring, completely ignoring the crowd’s reaction)
HS: "They sure don’t like him tonight, do they?"
FJ: "They don’t like him, Herb because he’s a success and all of this crowd’s REAL lives are just nothing but a complete FAILURE"
HS: "That was a bit harsh"
FJ: "…but true!"
(Jeff Christianson had reached the ring by then and climbed in between the top and second rope. He mocks his younger challenger. He removes his jumpsuit before pulling on the nearest rope as the ref tries to lecture both of them (although directing it mostly at Dark Warrior) as to the rules of the match. Jeff seems to just ignore this and just signals his impatience to the ref and asks him to get on with it)
FJ: "Looks like Jeff just wants to get the over with. I think he’s got his sights set on a quick match and being fresh for the Final"
HS: "Well, we’ll find out shortly whether that really will be the case"
(The ref signals for the match to start and the bell is rung as Carpenter and DW hook up. The slightly larger DW manages to muscle Carpenter towards the ropes, before applying a firm Headlock. Carpenter struggles for a few moments to release DW’s grip before DW fires him across the ring and sends him momentarily to the mat with a shoulder charge. Carpenter is quickly to his feet, but DW sends him from one side of the ring and back again with another Irish Whip. This time Carpenter ducks under an attempted Clothesline before rebounding off the ropes once more, but DW reacts quickly and nails Carpenter with a Running Kneelift, sending Carpenter back to the canvas once more. DW waits for Carpenter to get back on two standing feet again, before positioning himself and firing off a quick succession of three Knife Edge chops to exposed chest of Carpenter…)
FJ: "Woooooo, Wooooooo"
HS: "Shut it Frank"
FJ: "Make me"
(Back in the ring, DW continues his early onslaught with a knee to Carpenter’s midsection and two quick European Uppercuts, which has Carpenter reeling against the ropes. DW pushes Carpenter against the turnbuckle, pressing his forearm into the throat of the rookie, before firing across the full length of the ring into the opposite corner. Carpenter stays slumped into the corner as DW comes charging in with a Clothesline, however Carpenter managing to get an arm up in time and connects to the jaw of DW with an elbow. DW steps back a few steps, but it takes more that a simple elbow to stop him and in one single moment, kicks Carpenter in the stomach, before sending him crashing to the mat with a DDT)
FJ: "Big-time DDT by the former World Champion there, Herb. I told you this was going to be easy"
HS: "…"
(DW goes for an early pinfall, but Carpenter kicks out at two. DW drags his opponent to his feet, but he is surprised as Carpenter fires off a couple of quick rights, before connecting with a Standing Sidekick. DW comes back with two straight jabs of his own, but that is responded to by a Forearm Blow, followed by a Roundhouse Kick that sends DW into the turnbuckle. The two AWA Superstars exchange rights and lefts until DW fights way out of the corner, before locking both his arms around Carpenter’s waist and connecting with a flowing Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Carpenter lands hard clutching at his back, but DW gives him no time to recover and hauls him up to his feet once more, before sending across the ring once more and catching him with a devastating Spinebuster…)
FJ: "A Spinebuster with authority by Jeff Christianson. He’s dominating this match in its early stages"
(DW considers a pinfall, but turns Carpenter over onto his stomach instead and applies a Boston Crab. He pulls back on the submission move as Carpenter tries desperately to reach the nearest rope)
FJ: "Clever thinking by Jeff. Instead of a pinfall, he has Carpenter right where he wants him. Right in the centre of the ring with that excruciating Boston Crab locked in tight"
(Carpenter tries to inch ever closer to the ropes, but the pain on his face is all too evident as DW continues to pull back and apply even more pressure. Eventually Carpenter moves to within a couple of inches away from the ropes and DW releases the hold, but just drops his elbow right into the small of Carpenter’s back for good measure"
FJ: "Clever thinking again by Jeff"
(DW raises Carpenter once more and sends him towards the ropes once again, this time catching him with a Standing Sleephold. He locks it in tight as we can see the rookie starting to fade right in the centre of the ring…)
FJ: "Jeff is really teaching Joshua Carpenter a thing or two about how to wear down your opponent, eh Herb?"
HS: "…"
FJ: "You’re very quiet tonight, Herb. You feeling alright?"
(DW continues to wear Carpenter down, but suddenly Carpenter seems to get a second wind, dropping down and sending DW backwards with a Reverse Jawbreaker…)
HS: "COME ON!"
FJ: "Oh, you are ok then?"
HS: "I am now"
(DW grabs at his sore chin as Carpenter arches his back, still suffering from all the punishment handed out already in this match. DW shakes the cobwebs from his head and comes charging towards Carpenter, but Carpenter counters with an Arm-Drag Takedown. Carpenter is quick to his feet this time and doesn’t even give DW to gather his bearings. A hard uppercut to the jaw of the former World Champion has him reeling against the ropes, quickly followed by two quick Back Elbows and a whip across the ring. A running Clothesline takes DW to the mat and a German Suplex is what awaits him as DW gets to his feet once more…)
HS: "This is more like it"
FJ: "Jeff won’t put up with this for long before he gets mad"
(…DW gets to his feet, but a well executed Dropkick sends him back down. Carpenter seizes the opportunity this time, connecting with a Roundhouse Kick that staggers DW and following up with an Elbow Strike and a perfectly carried out Crescent Kick…)
HS: "Carpenter forcing his way back into this match with those well-educated feet of his"
FJ: "You’d never guess he was in the army, would you?"
HS: "He has got a Martial Arts background as well, Frank"
FJ: "They didn’t teach him that at Martial Arts"
(Herb seems to get quite excited as he watched Carpenter drive DW into the mat with a DDT, the move Frank was talking about, he quickly hooks the leg of DW, but DW manages to kick out at 1½. Carpenter attempts to stay on the offensive as he sends DW into the far ropes and quickly follows in with a Running Clothesline that sends him over the outside)
FJ: "I’ll tell you one thing, Herb. This is one place that Carpenter doesn’t want to battle Dark Warrior"
(Carpenter wastes no time and quickly scales the top rope, launching himself off towards the outside of the ring with a Twisting Moonsault, sending himself and DW into the barricades…)
HS: "That’s got to hurt, Frank"
FJ: "I think they’re both in a world of pain right now"
(The ref starts to count both of them out, but upon reaching five, Carpenter makes it to his feet. He tries to roll DW back into the ring, but DW makes a desperate lunge, forcing Carpenter into the side of the ring itself, impacting right onto his already injured back. Carpenter sinks to the floor, but DW seizes the opportunity)
FJ: "What did I tell you, Herb?"
(DW quickly rolls Carpenter back into the ring as the ref’s count reaches 8. A Northern Lights Suplex has Carpenter in a pinning predicament, but he manages to beat the three count. This time DW connects with a Swinging Neckbreaker, followed by a Brainbuster as Carpenter staggers to his feet. Another pinfall is attempted, but Carpenter kicks out at two. Carpenter is whipped into the ropes and sent crashing to the mat with another back-breaking Spinebuster…)
FJ: "Dark Warrior wasting no time now his the advantage has returned in his favour. Working on that already injured back and spine area of Joshua Carpenter"
(DW has Carpenter up once again and another two count follows a well-executed Unprettier. DW continues the onslaught with a Snap Suplex. He drops two quick Legdrops over the throat of Carpenter before he flips Carpenter over and locks in the Anklelock…)
FJ: "This is it, Herb. All the screaming and shouting in the world isn’t going to save him. He’s got two choices. He taps out or he has one broken ankle"
(Carpenter screams out in pain as DW applies more pressure, he inches towards the ropes but DW pulls him back a couple of steps. He raises his right hand…)
FJ: "He’s going to tap, Herb. He’s going to tap!!"
(Carpenter looks like he’s either going to submit or pass out to the pain, but with one final desperate lunge, he manages to grab hold of the bottom rope)
HS: "He made it"
FJ: "…but the damage may have already been done"
(Carpenter tries to stagger to his feet, but DW is having none of it. He roughly drags him up, Carpenter struggling to stand on his extremely weakened right ankle and DW connects with a Reverse Brainbuster. He hooks the leg, but Carpenter kicks out just before the three count. DW drags him up once more, connecting this time with a Diving Reverse DDT, again an attempted pinfall, but again Carpenter just manages to answer the three count…)
HS: "Carpenter is just staying alive in this match!"
(DW pulls him up once more, doubling him over with a kick to the midsection, before hooking both his arms…)
FJ: "You were saying, Herb?"
(…before NAILING a Pedigree, driving Carpenter head-first into the canvas. DW turns him over and is about to hook his leg for the almost certain victory, but suddenly stops…)
FJ: "What’s he doing?"
(DW quickly makes his way over towards the nearest turnbuckle before scaling it and upon reaching the top rope…)
HS: "He’s not?"
FJ: "He is Herb…It’s time for the "High Death!!"
(Frank is exactly right as DW leaps off the top rope and connects with his FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH. He clutches at his stomach for a few moments, recovering from the damage he had obviously done to himself, but quickly drapes his right arm over the motionless Carpenter…)
FJ: "Count with me, Herb"
HS: "…"
FJ: "ONE…TWO…THREE! He’s done it Herb, Dark Warrior is progressing to the finals tonight"
HS: "A valiant display by the young rookie here tonight. Even you have got to admit that, Frank"
FJ: "Ok…I guess so"
HS: "Jeff Christianson DOES progress to the 6-Man Hell Bowl Chamber Elimination Match, but even HE will have to agree that he HAS been in a match tonight and I just have the feeling that we will be seeing Joshua Carpenter again against the upper echelon of the AWA…and soon"
(DW celebrates in the ring as "I’m Going Out" strikes up once more and Jeff Christianson exits the ring. Carpenter eventually comes to and groggily rolls out of the ring. We go back to last week's Xplosion where Damien Kross was attacked by Dave "The Rave" Santini before we join Herb and Frank again.)
HS: "Next up it’s Dave Santini against Damien Kross."
FJ: "Yes! It’s Santini! I love this guy!"
HS: "He’s going to have his hands full with Damien Kross though."
FJ: "THE Dave Santini? He’s far too good for Kross. This one’s in the bag!"
("Runnin’" by Notorious B.I.G plays and the lights go out – a video starts playing, then comes an explosion, and Damien Kross walks out through the noise. He makes his way to the ring, drags his huge hulk in, and goes to the corner, looking at the crowd intently before customarily throwing a shirt into the crowd. Soon after, "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard hits from the speakers, and the lights go out again. Soon, the red lights appear, focus on Dave Santini, and the an explosion comes once more as Dave starts to make his way down to the ring. Louise is with him, standing a few feet behind. He beckons her to follow him, and struts down with a smirk on his face. Kross keeps in his corner, watching him all the time with great intent as Santini goes through the ropes. Louise stays outside.
The bell rings and the match is underway. Kross and Santini move close to each other. Santini starts talking smack to Kross, pointing his finger out at him. Kross waits for him to stop, looks down at Santini, and then starts talking smack back, pointing a rather larger finger back down at him. Santini turns away, looking offended, turns round, and slaps Kross around the face! Damien Kross looks away for a moment, turns back to Santini, and shakes his head, before slapping him back! Santini reels back a whole lot further, as Kross moves in to take advantage – however, Santini uses a closed hand this time on Kross and then attempts to whip him into the corner. Kross is too strong, reverses it, and smashes him against the ring post. Santini bounces off, winded, as Kross runs in to splash him – but Santini moves, and he runs right into the post himself. Santini turns him around, and whips a chop across his chest – SMACK! The crowd groan as the sound echoes through the arena. Another! And Another! And Another! Kross’ chest is getting red. Santini goes for another – blocked! Kross kicks him in the gut, and Santini doubles up. Kross grabs Santini with his huge hands and picks him up into a bearhug! Santini starts to wilt instantly.)
HS: "This match could be over almost as soon as it’s started! Santini does not want to get into a battle of strength with Damien Kross, or he is going to lose!"
(Santini’s eyes are closing. Louise bangs on the canvas, and Santini finds a burst of energy – he headbutts Damien, invoking a warning from the referee. Santini threatens him, and the referee jumps out of the way. As Damien holds his head, Santini tries to whip him once more. Damien Kross reverses it again, and Santini once more smacks into the corner. Kross grabs Santini on the rebound... sidewalk slam! Santini hits the floor hard. Kross goes for the pin! 1... 2... kickout. Kross pulls Santini up with one huge claw grabbing his head. Santini tries to overpower Kross, but Kross just clubs him in the neck. Santini drops to his knees.)
HS: "Santini isn’t being smart here, and it’s going to cost him eventually."
FJ: "Santini’s just toying with him!"
HS: "I think Kross is making more of a toy out of Santini here - He’s throwing him around like a child’s doll!"
(Santini gets lifted off his knees by Kross into a full nelson slam. Kross goes for the pin. 1... 2... kickout! Kross goes for another pin, 1... 2... kickout! Santini scrambles back to his feet and kicks cross in the midsection. He tries to use his power to lift Kross, but can’t manage it. He kicks Kross hard back into the ropes. Kross bounces back off and is met by a spear! Kross hits the deck and Santini hooks a leg... 1... 2... kickout. Kross throws Santini off him and Santini looks perturbed. Kross is back on his feet and Santini gets him with a short arm clothesline. It doesn’t affect Kross too much because he had to stretch too far to account for Kross’ height advantage. Kross bounces back up and hip tosses Santini as he goes for another clothesline. Santini rolls off the floor quickly onto his feet, and runs against the rope – he ducks a clothesline attempt from Kross, they both bounce against the opposite ropes, come back, and Santini gets a forearm smash in the face for his troubles! Kross turns to the referee for a moment, points towards Louise on the outside and says something to the referee – he checks to look at what she is upto, and Kross rakes Santini in the eyes, blinding him! Louise is doing nothing wrong on the outside, and the referee realises he’s been duped as Santini lets out a yell of pain. Kross grins)
FJ: "That’s cheating! He should be disqualified!"
HS: "Santini’s getting a taste of his own medicine for once! Besides, these two will both do anything to get to the Hell Bowl chamber! It’s going to be one hell of a main event tonight, and nobody wants to miss out on the opportunity of becoming World Champion!"
(Kross slows the pace down. He has Santini by the head once more, and is getting ready to put some hurt on him – but Santini, still half blinded, lashes out randomly - He connects! Kross lets his grasp go, and Santini, one eye open, sees enough of Damien to punch him in the gut, and quickly follow it up with a DDT – Kross gets back to his feet slowly, and Santini shuffles around, pretending to still be blinded. He goes to the referee, and pushes him down! Then quickly, he rushes at Kross, and hits a low blow whilst on his knees! Kross’ face looks torn with pain!)
FJ: "Vintage Santini! I doubt there’s a smarter man in wrestling!"
HS: "So you don’t think he should be disqualified?"
FJ: "Shut up."
p> (Santini grabs Kross, still in pain from the shot in the family jewels, and takes him down with a falling neckbreaker. Kross lays still. Santini looks around him, goes over to the corner, and climbs to the top rope… diving elbow! He hits Kross hard, and goes for the pin... 1... 2... kickout! Right at the last moment! Santini looks frustrated, as Kross gets back to his feet. Santini sets him up for the Ravin’ Driver!! But he can’t lift him! Another attempt, and the same result! Another attempt... and Kross flips him onto his shoulder, and goes for a Body Press Drop! Santini slides out, and onto his feet! Damien Kross turns around, and grabs Santini… he whips him, Santini reverses it though, Kross comes back off the ropes... BIG BOOT! THE RAVE GRAVE!!! Kross goes down! Santini, tired, drops down, and hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3!! Santini throws his arms up in the air in triumph, and rolls out of the ring. Louise helps support him as his music starts playing and they walk to the back. Kross sits up, slightly dazed, and hits the canvas with his fist. He looks on at Santini walking out, and shakes his head)
FJ: "Yes! Santini advances to the Hell Bowl Chamber!"
HS: "But just how much did the match with Kross take out of him though?"
FJ: "He’s still on his feet - and he’s still THE Dave Santini.! He used his smarts to win the match, and he’ll do it again later on in the final!"
(After a commercial for the Best Of AWA Xplosion DVD we go back a few weeks. BlackJack and The Fish had just lost to Jayson Price and Low in the AWA Tag Team title tournament and in the aftermath BlackJack and Fish were at each other's throats. Erie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint and move in a way to make it seem that the whole arena is under water. "Trendy" by Reel Big Fish hits and the lights flash back on as water shoots from the stage and the Fish dead sprints to the ring, slapping the occasional hand. He stops just before the ring and looks up at the ominously hanging Hell Chamber. He points to himself, then up at the chamber. The fans go wild. The Fish climbs up the steps, but stops, noticing a young Fish fan in an AWA-Store-bought Fish mask. The Fish stops, grabs the kid’s sharpie, and signs the mask. Afterwards, he slides into the ring to bathe in the cheers of his fans.)
FJ: "Can you believe the audacity of the Fish? He just ruined that fan's mask!"
HS: "Oh? I figured you would be happy he defaced the mask."
FJ: "Oooh. Good one. - Good job, Fish!"
HS: "Did you just praise The Fish?"
FJ: "I... dammit!"
(As Frank slams his fist down on the announcer's table, Booker T and the MGs begin their "Green Onions" track. Blackjack appears on the ramp and as the guitar chimes in Pyros shoot up from each side of the ramp all the way down, at every chime of the guitar 4-8 time. He makes his way down and climbs into the ring going to the middle of the ring. The Fish stands there just watching. The fans are about half-and-half on the two face competitors. Blackjack and Fish stare at each other from across the ring. The referee motions for the two men to come together in the center.)
HS: "These are two high class wrestlers."
FJ: "If by "high class" you mean 'First Grade' then I agree."
HS: "That could be construed as another compliment, Frank."
FJ: "Crap!"
(Blackjack and Fish move towards one another cautiously. Blackjack starts removing his leather jacket. As they almost reach the center, Blackjack tosses his jacket over the face of the Fish and nails the Ace of Spades! The referee looks shocked, but calls for the opening bell.)
FJ: "I approve of this strategy."
HS: "You're despicable."
(Blackjack goes for the quick cover on the Fish. .....1 .....2 .....Fish kicks out with authority.)
FJ: "Blackjack almost wasted the former Cruiserweight Champion in record time!"
(Fish rolls out of the way and tosses the jacket to the outside. Blackjack starts laying angry boots to the back of the Fish. Fish struggles to regain his vertical base, but Blackjack continues to boot him back down. Fish takes a boot to the head... a boot to the
side... Fish continues to flop around the mat amid the assault. Finally, Fish rolls out of the ring to some safety. The Fish regains his feet and shakes the cobwebs out. Blackjack bounces off the opposite ropes and Suicide Dives to the outside, slamming Fish and himself into the barrier. The crowd pops!)
HS: "A high flying move from the very versatile Blackjack."
(Both men are taking their time getting up. Fish is up first, and lays a fist into the back of Blackjack. Fish goes to irish whip Blackjack, but BJ reverses, sending Fish crashing over the steps to the floor! The crowd winces in pain along with the Fish, who arches his back in response to the tumble. Blackjack follows up by picking up The Fish by his head and tossing him into the ring. The Fish scrambles to his feet and bounces off the opposite ropes. Blackjack follows him in. The Fish ducks a clothesline from Blackjack and springboards off the near side. The crowd cheers, but is cut short. The Fish goes for his cross body block which is expertly reversed into a power slam! Blackjack hooks a leg. .....1 .....2 ....Fish kicks out!)
HS: "Look at the power of Blackjack! If he holds onto this strong start, he could very well move on to the Hell Chamber!"
FJ: "As long as The Fish gets pasted all over Las Vegas, I don't care!"
(Blackjack stands up and pulls the Fish with him. Without giving the Fish time to recover, he whips the Fish into the turnbuckle. He follows the Fish in with a huge splash that sends the Fish stumbling forward. Blackjack scrambles up the turnbuckle. The Fish shakes his head again, and turns around into a diving leg-headlock that plants the Fish hard! The R U OK! Blackjack makes a that's in motion and moves in on the Fish. He lifts The Fish off the mat and locks in a dragon sleeper.)
HS: "Looks like it's time for the Tenacity!"
(The Fish looks done, but in a moment of vigor, the Fish runs up the near ropes and flips over Blackjack, landing him down in a make-shift reverse DDT!)
HS: "Beautiful counter by the Fish! The fans love it!
(Blackjack quickly recovers, but Fish bounces off the near ropes and baseball slides between Blackjack's legs and stands into a textbook dropkick that catches BJ right in the kisser! Blackjack drops to the mat and again recovers. Fish climbs to the outside of the ropes and waits on the apron. Blackjack turns towards the Fish who flips into the ring using the top rope. The Fish's legs find the head of Blackjack. Blackjack fights the moves for a moment, but the leverage the Fish has with the top rope is too great, and Blackjack gets taken over the top rope to the outside. Before Blackjack can recover, The Fish is on the middle rope, and moonsaulting backwards onto the prone Blackjack!)
FJ: "No! Bad fish! BAD!"
(The fans are cheering wildly. As Blackjack slowly recovers, The Fish grabs his head for a DDT. Blackjack blocks it, hooks the Fish, and Northern Lights Suplexes him on the floor. The Fish arches his back in pain once again. Blackjack smiles and points to his head noting that he's always thinking. Blackjack rolls into the ring. The Fish slowly recovers while the referee counts... .....1 .....2
HS: "If the Fish gets counted out, Blackjack goes onto The Hell Chamber!"
(.....3)
FJ: "The Fish loses? The Fish losing is good!"
(.....4)
HS: "You know, Frank, you've never really been a Blackjack fan either."
(.....5)
FJ: "But that's okay, because I haven't been a Fish fan even longer."
(.....6)
HS: "I believe the proper term is 'Fish Follower'."
(.....7)
FJ: "I believe the proper term is shut the hell up, Herb."
(Blackjack gets tired of waiting and runs toward the ropes. Blackjack takes a flying leap at The Fish, who moves, sending Blackjack crashing to the floor in pain. The Fish quickly rolls into the ring.)
HS&FJ: "Ouch."
(The Fish takes a moment to catch his breath. The referee begins his count again. .....1 The Fish grabs the referee by the shirt. The referee looks confused. The Fish shakes his finger and his head back and forth. The Fish motions with his hand for the 'one, two, three' on the mat.)
FJ: "What is the Fish doing?"
HS: "He wants to win by pin fall! He doesn't want the referee to count out Blackjack!"
FJ: "What an idiot! He's only ten seconds away from the Hell Chamber!"
(Blackjack is on his feet now. He climbs the apron and grabs for the Fish. The Fish dives over the top of Blackjack and sunset-flips into a power bomb from the apron. Both men crash to the floor. The Fish recovers quicker and climbs to the top of the announcer's table. He waves to all his Fish Followers with the gill salute. The Fish fans return it. He flies off the table with a coral crush on the fallen Blackjack. The Fish is quick to his feet and rolls into the ring, resetting the count. The referee yells for the Fish to bring it inside. He stands Blackjack up and climbs the announcers table again. The referee yells again for The Fish to get inside. Blackjack wearily looks at the Fish. The Fish flies in with a spinning head scissors. The momentum sending Blackjack towards the ring, and under the bottom ropes. Blackjack rolls to the center of the ring and starts sitting up. He looks dizzy.)
HS: "The Fish sends Blackjack for a ride!"
FJ: "You would figure Blackjack in Vegas would be a good thing."
HS: "Maybe you should start cheering for the Fish."
FJ: "Maybe you should go play with Roy's tigers."
(The Fish climbs into the ring. He moves in on Blackjack, who is now on his feet. Fish receives a stiff knee to the gut for his troubles. Blackjack whips Fish off the ropes and lifts him for a Spine buster. With an outcry, the Fish reverses the move mid-air into an exclamation point DDT! Blackjack goes vertical, then falls over onto his chest. The Fish drops a quick leg drop onto Blackjack. The Fish lifts Blackjack and locks his arms for the Fin-isher! Blackjack stops the spin and lifts The Fish for a vertical suplex. He drops Fish over the top ropes, but The Fish catches the rope and lands on the apron!)
FJ: "Behind you Blackjack!"
(As if he heard Frank, Blackjack turns around to catch a punch to the side of the head. Fish bends down to duck a return punch, nailing Blackjack in the gut. Fish grabs Blackjack's head for a vertical of his own. Blackjack blocks the lift. Blackjack tries to lift Fish, but Fish blocks as well. Fish quickly turns Blackjack around in his arms and flips forward into the ring. Deep Sea Driver!)
HS: "Deep Sea Driver!"
FJ: "Deep Sea Driver!?"
(Fish floats over for the pin. ......1 ......2 .......3 As the referee brings the last hand down, he notices Blackjack's foot on the ropes. The Fish gets up and over-dramatically snaps . The Fish grabs Blackjack and drags him to the middle of the ring and pins him again. .....1 .....2 ......Blackjack throws a shoulder up.
Frank breathes a sigh of relief.
The Fish lifts up Blackjack who delivers a stiff kick to the mid section. He locks in a full nelson, and face-busters the Fish down. The Blackjack fans cheer. Blackjack keeps the full nelson locked in and lifts the Fish back up. He face-busts the Fish again! Again,
Blackjack keeps the nelson locked and lifts Fish again. This times he hooks a legs, lets go of the full nelson, and Russian leg sweeps the Fish. Blackjack goes for a cover. ....1 .....2 .....The Fish kicks out. Blackjack pounds the mat.)
HS: "We almost had a winner!"
(Blackjack lifts the Fish again and goes to hook him for a suplex. The Fish delivers a desperation toe kick to the gut. Blackjack is stunned. Fish takes advantage by climbing the knee of Blackjack and nails an enziguri! The Fish kips up to a shower of cheers. The Fish grabs the turnbuckle and plants himself atop. He raises his arms, eliciting a blinding camera flash bath and a chorus of cheers. He flips backwards in a forward motion... shooting star leg drop!)
HS: There's the Flying Fish!
(The Fish nails the leg drop and quickly covers Blackjack! .....1 ....2 .....3!)
HS: "The Fish did it! He's going to the Hell Chamber for a shot at the World Championship!"
´
FJ: "No! He... he cheated! Restart the match! The Fish is NOT going to the Hell Chamber! I can't afford this!"
HS: "Frank! Did you put money on Blackjack!?"
FJ: "Of course I bet on Blackjack! This is VEGAS and I NEVER lose at Blackjack!"
HS: "You play black jack, Frank?"
FJ: "Sure I do. Double down... twenty-one to win."
HS: "Wow Frank, I learn something new about you every day."
FJ: "Surprised, huh?"
HS: "Yeah, I surprised you can count that high."
FJ: "Hey-"
HS: "...but I do know you can count to 3 ... and that's how many matches we have left before the Hell Bowl Chamber!"
(We cut to a scene of George Slater sitting behind a desk in his office, he is flipping through a few papers when the sound of a cell phone ringing is heard. Slater shuffles a few papers to the side and lifts the phone up and flips it open.)
SLATER: "Yes?"
(He listens for a moment.)
SLATER: "Are you certain of this?"
(Listens again.)
SLATER: "I’ll be right there."
(Slater closes the phone and gets up from behind his desk and begins to walk out of his office, and as he does the scene fades back to Frank and Herb on the arena floor.)
HS: "Well, Chairman Slater seemed quite interested about the purpose of that call, I wonder what it could be about.
FJ: "I know exactly what its about, Herb."
HS: "Do tell."
FJ: "It is about the time that you got fired."
HS: "I have never been fired, Frank"
FJ: "Until now."
HS: "That I have to work with you..."
(We are taken back to Xplosion a couple of weeks ago. Low was announcing his new goal of becoming a two-time Grand Slam Champion when Evan Spire made his return to the AWA. He was attacked by Low that night, but got revenge during the tag team tournament.)
HS: "And here we go folks, this should be a knock down, drag out war between The Legendary Low and the recently cleared Evan Spire, who almost didn't made it her tonight thanks to some shenanigans by Low."
FJ: "You just assume it was him, Herb. But Low is going to kill that ignorant jerk, Spire."
HS: "I think he already did Frank, that was a little much, even for Low."
FJ: "Just like you Herb, blame everything on Low, how do you know it was Low?"
HS: "I have my suspicions."
("Feel" by Matchbox 20 begins to play through the speakers, the crowd goes ballistic in anticipation of Evan Spire. As he walks out onto the ramp, followed by Paul Forbes and his digi-cam. We hear the roof almost blow off the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Spire salutes the crowd, they respond and Spire begins to walk towards the ring, showing us only a slight limp after his injuries.)
HS: "These fans love Evan Spire, but what do you figure Forbes is doing with that camera?"
FJ: "The life and times of Low of course!"
FJ: "That’s the only thing in this match any one wants to see."
("I Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy Pop begins to queue up and the fans again almost blow the roof off. But this time it is in negative response. They see Low and Ramona step onto the entranceway and a deafening chorus of boos is heard. We see garbage being thrown at Low, half way down the ramp, we also a plastic beer cup fly directly into the chest of Low, the beer sprays all over Low and Ramona. They look around slightly and then show the crowd their appreciation towards them, with dueling one finger salutes. Low and Ramona begin their walk towards the ring, they enter and both men start to stare each other down.)
HS: "This is going to be a war."
FJ: "Man, Forbes is a pervert. Look at this, he is filming Ramona."
(The action finally starts as the bell sounds. Low and Spire lock up and wrestle for position. Spire pushes Low back and Low returns the favor. The two spin back and forth, until finally they meet the ropes and the ref breaks up the two men. Spire breaks cleanly but the same can not be said for Low, he dives over the ref’s shoulder and drives a right hand into Spire’s face. The ref warns him, but Low continues the onslaught. He throws lefts and rights until Spire is in the corner. Low then starts to lay the boots into Spire’s thighs, then his stomach, and finally right into the face of Spire.)
HS: "So much for technical wrestling, Low is beating the hell out of Spire."
FJ: "Its great."
(Low drags Spire out of the corner but Spire throws Low in and now gives him the same treatment. Low uses his experience and pulls himself out of the ring, and grabs some time on the outside. Ramona comes over and tries to calm Low down, the fans continue their barrage of boos, and finally the ref starts a count. As the ref hit’s the 5 count Low rolls in. Spire charges him, but Low counters with a drop toe hold. He immediately shoots for Spires leg, and applies an ankle lock.)
HS: "He’s going for that injured leg."
FJ: "A great strategy!"
HS: "A horrific strategy."
(Regardless of the comments made Evan realizes he is in trouble and dives into the ropes, the ref forces Low to break the hold and Evan gets up quickly favoring his leg. Low hit’s the ropes and attempts to tackle Spire to the ground but Spire leap frogs him, and Low hit again, this time as he comes off the ropes Spire hit’s a drop kick that floors Low. Spire mounts Low and begins to throw wild punches as Low covers up. Spire drags Low to his feet, and then hoists Low up in the air with a stalling vertical suplex. Spire immediately leaps onto the ropes and goes for a Senton Bomb that connects driving the wind out of Low.)
HS: "Spire is really taking it to Low tonight."
FJ: "Low will get up, you just wait and see."
(Spire continues to beat upon Low, he picks him up again and this time whips him to the ropes, this time landing a roundhouse kick that floors Low again. Spire locks in a dragon sleeper, and lifts Low to his feet, before falling with a reverse DDT. He then repeats the cycle and does it again and finally for a third time.)
FJ: "Ummmm..... Low, buddy, pal..... Come on don’t do this to me, I have a lot of money on you."
HS: "Frank, are you gambling on all the matches?"
FJ: "We are in Vegas, Herb, don’t tell me that you didn’t."
HS: "……………."
(Spire looks down at a lifeless Low and salutes the crowd. He goes for the pin. 1..... 2..... kickout. Spire tries it again this time hooking the leg. 1..... 2..... kickout. He throws Low’s shoulder down again and once more tries the pin, 1..... kickout!)
HS: "Spire won't pin Low like that.!"
FJ: "Hopefully he wont pin him at all."
(Spire seems frustrated and slaps the mat. He takes a walk around the ring and looks down towards Forbes, who is interestingly enough filming the match, and Ramona. Forbes looks up and spouts his catch phrase just loud enough that we can hear him. "Jackass". Spire smiles, and looks back towards a battered Low. He walks into Low, but Low seems to be playing possum. Spire steps towards him and gets nailed with a spine buster. Low immediately grabs a leg and goes for the figure four leg lock. He sinks it in but Spire gets to the ropes. He assists himself up with the ropes and just at that moment Low dies into his knee. Spire crumbles to the ground, and grabs his knee. Low then drags him to the center of the ring and rolls him over. He stomps the knee a few times and then applies the sugar hold.)
FJ: "At last, Spire is going to tap!"
HS: "I don’t think so, Low has it locked in but Spire is fighting to his knees, and now he is almost up."
(The move quickly turns into a run of the mill full nelson. Spire steps forward and drops to his butt, driving his chin into Low’s face. Low hits hard grabbing his nose. He curls up and holds his face. Spire slowly climbs to his feet and tries to loosen up his knee. He then signals to the crowd that he is going of the complete circuit, as he does he lifts Low onto his knees and we see that Low’s nose is pouring blood. He grabs Low by the hair and locks his arm, but Low fights up to his feet and then.....)
FJ: "YES..... YES..... YES!"
HS: "THE LOW STUNNER!!!!"
FJ: "I knew it!"
(Low scampers over and locks Evan’s legs. He hooks in the Low Profile. Spire barely conscious fights it as long as he can. But finally the ref calls for the bell as Spire taps.)
HS: "That was a great match, Frank. And it looks like you get your money."
FJ: "I could kiss Low right now!"
HS: "Frank..... I never knew....."
FJ: "Shut up, Herb, it’s strictly platonic."
(The scene cuts back to Chairman Slater standing in the parking garage area, staring at the entrance. He shakes his head and begins to turn around but as he takes his first step the sound of squealing tires is heard. Slater turns back around to see a black and blue Ford Lightning screaming through the entrance to the garage. The truck pulls up about five feet away from Slater and the occupant of the truck shuts it off. The truck door swings open and out steps AWA US Champion Animosity, wearing a pair of black and blue Adidas work out pants and a white T-Shirt with the slogan "Once an Icon always an Icon". Animosity stares at Slater who returns his stare with anger. Animosity goes to walk past Slater but Slater quickly puts his arm up to stop him.)
SLATER: "And where do you think you're going?"
ANIMOSITY: "Business, and I would like to suggest that you never lay your hands on me again."
SLATER: "I don’t think you are in the position to make any suggestions, you're damn lucky you still have that title and a contract here."
ANIMOSITY: "Is that so? The way I see it you are lucky I decided to show up here tonight."
SLATER: "Well, I hope you happened to see Xplosion a couple weeks back, because I made a statement that you would find very interesting."
ANIMOSITY: "Yes, George.
(He pauses.)
ANIMOSITY: "Can I call you George?"
(Slater goes to speak but is cut off mid sentence by Animosity.)
ANIMOSITY: "Anyways George, I saw your little temper tantrum, and I must say I am disappointed at the way you portrayed yourself. I mean, come on George, show some dignity.
(The look on Slater’s face turns to one of disdain for the US Champ, as he begins to speak with a very angered tone.)
SLATER: "Well, since you saw Xplosion you must realize that you are going to be wrestling the opponent of my choosing this coming Thursday night, and should you not sho....."
ANIMOSITY: "Well, George, I think I will be wrestling the opponent of your choice, but it will not be this coming Thursday night, but next Sunday, one week from tonight."
SLATER: "Is that so?"
ANIMOSITY: "Yes, George, I know you agree with me."
(Slater glares into the eyes of Animosity and begins to speak but is again cut of.)
ANIMOSITY: "Nod your head if you agree with me, George."
(Animosity reaches out and grabs Slater by the head and forces him to nod his head in the YES fashion. With that Animosity turns away and walks out of the garage into the locker room area, and as he does we cut back to the arena floor.)
HS: "Folks, Animosity is back here in the AWA, and damned if on his first day he did not just totally challenge Chairman Slater in front of the entire world. Slater can't be to happy about this."
FJ: "Yeah, isn’t it great, Herb? I knew the show was missing something while this guy was gone."
HS: "But one thing I did notice was the Shirt that Animosity was wearing, I believe it was "Once an Icon always and Icon", and we all know who that shirt would belong to. Could it be that Animosity has finally lost the battle within, and that John Williams has resurfaced?"
FJ: "Hmmmm, I sure hope not. So, maybe we will find out tonoght, maybe at Xplosion, maybe at Shock. Who knows? Seems like not even Slater knows."
(Scenes are shown from last week's Xplosion as Jaeger Khrushchev and King Chozen won the tournament final for the vacant AWA Tag Team title over Jayson Price and Low.)
HS: "Here comes an interesting qualifying match-up for the Hell Bowl Chamber tonight. Both of these men are Tag Team Champions together."
FJ: "Newly crowned Tag Team Champions, Herb."
HS: "Yes, Frank, thank you for your two cents. Anyways..."
FJ: "Herb, stop. Onto the match-up."
("Two of us" by Laibach begins to play and the arena lights turn red as "The UberTsar" appears at the top of the ramp. He raises his right fist into the air, before putting it to his heart and marching purposefully down to the ring, his head raised high and awaiting his opponent and tag team partner as the fans cheer on. "Peel off" by Jin hits the arena and the fans cheer even louder as King Chozen steps out on the ramp way and makes his way down to the ring. He hops in and to his corner as both men stare across the ring at each other as both of them hand there Tag Team Championship gold to the referee.)
HS: "Like I said before, this one is going to be interesting to see lets hope it wont interfere with there team and make an excellent match-up."
FJ: "This is for the real deal though Herb, this is for the shot at the gold, the World Title gold. It’s every man for himself in the race for that."
(The bell sounds and both men walk around the ring inching there way towards each other then lock-up. The bigger Jaeger gets the advantage but the veteran Chozen manages to get an arm-wrench in then knocks out Jaeger’s leg and sends him to his back. Jaeger quickly rolls away and gets back to his feet then goes for a lock-up again and King Chozen goes for another arm wrench but Jaeger counters and wrenches Chozens arm, then turns it into a hammerlock. Chozen reverse it with a hammerlock of his own but Jaeger bends down and pulls his leg out then turns and goes for the Manifesto figure-four leg lock but Chozen pushes him away and gets back to his feet and out of nowhere hits a jumping sidekick to his face that sends Jaeger down and KC drops an elbow and goes for the cover. One...Two, Kick out. KC gets up and runs to the ropes but Jaeger rolls to his stomach and KC goes over him Jaeger gets up and goes for a clothesline but KC ducks and on the way back he hits a high spinning heel kick to the face that knocks Jaeger down and KC runs back with another elbow, then another, then a leg drop and a cover. One...Two...kick out.)
HS: "Both of these men are going trying to get an early advantage."
FJ: "King Chozen seems to have Jaegers number though.
HS: "Chozen is a veteran but Jaeger does have that technical style that is bound to clash with Chozen sometime in this match."
(Chozen picks up Jaeger and gives a fore-arm to the face then another and he whips him into the ropes but Jaeger counters it and pulls him in then delivers a fast deep arm drag and locks in an arm wrench tugging back on it from his one knee position and keeping Chozen grounded. He wrenches back on it harder then falls to his back and holds down Chozen with an arm bar submission. Chozen struggles some trying to get out of it but Jaeger just tugs back on it holding him down. Chozen manages to lift up a little then rolls backwards and out of the submission but Jaeger quickly sits-up and pulls him into a small package pin but only gets a Two count and both men get up fast. With Jaeger charging at Chozen but Chozen ducks and backdrops Jaeger outside of the ring and he hits hard. Chozen looks to the crowd and down at Jaeger. Then Chozen runs to the ropes and suicide dives through the top and middle crashing into Jaeger like a torpedo as they both fly into the barricade.
Chozen gets up to the loud cheer of the crowd and picks Jaeger up and sends him down onto the barricade then climbs up and calls the fans on as they know what’s coming and he delivers a big dropkick on the barricade hitting both himself on the landing hard and Jaeger falling down to the arena floor. Both men lie motionless and the ref starts up the count. 1...2...3...4... both men start to stir and they get up to there knee bases.... 5.... 6.... they punch at each other back and forth lefts and rights then Jaeger blocks and decks Chozen hard in the face and hits his face against the barricade then pulls Chozens pants and throws his lower back against the ring...7...8... Jaeger tosses Chozen in then climbs in himself and smashes his back as Chozen leans forward. Jaeger picks him up and delivers a hard backbreaker and but keeps him on his knee and pulls him back up and delivers a hard Russian leg sweep then goes for the cover. ONE...TWO...kick out!)
HS: "I don’t know who has the overall advantage in this one."
FJ: "Looks to me like Jaeger is in control right now Herb."
HS: "Chozen is a fighter though with an unusual style."
FJ: "They’re the odd couple Herb and there our Tag Champs."
HS: "And one of them will go onto the Hell Chamber tonight."
(Jaeger picks up Chozen and whips him into the ropes and hits him with an elbow smash that knocks Chozen backwards but Chozen hits off the ropes and hits the super kick that knocks Jaeger down and out of no where and Chozen falls into the ropes holding himself up as he takes a breath. He stands up and looks at the downed Jaeger and then over to the ring apron he walks through the ropes and grabs the top one and looks around spring boarding himself up top and crashing down with a hard shooting star press he goes for the cover ONE...TWO...THR...kick out! Jaeger kicks out and Chozen gets up and walks over to the turnbuckle and sets himself up for the Chozen Spear getting ready to deliver it to Jaeger. Jaeger slowly gets up to his feet and turns around and Chozen charges at him but Jaeger sees it coming and side-steps it and Chozen stops in his tracks and turns around to get met by a kick to the gut and sent into the ropes with The Hammer and on his way back gets met by The rolling Koppou kick The Sickle and Chozen flies back against the ropes and Jaeger runs up behind him and delivers a bulldog then a cover. ONE TWO THr....kick out!)
HS: "I thought Jaeger had him there!"
FJ: "There’s troubles brewing between the odd couple tonight...wow herb I kill myself
HS: "Do us the favor..."
FJ: "What???"
HS: "Nothing, go back to your calls on the match, you’re doing good tonight."
FJ: "As always."
(Jaeger picks up Chozen and goes for a Canadian back breaker up on his shoulder but Chozen shakes out of it and onto his feet behind Jaeger he hits the ropes and goes for a spinning wheel kick but Jaeger ducks it and hits the ropes himself but Chozen leap frogs him and hits him in the gut with a mule kick and hits a dangerous DDT that damn near breaks Jaegers neck. He goes for the cover ONE.... TWO... THR... kick out again! Chozen gets back to his feet and picks up Jaeger but Jaeger punches his gut and goes for a power bomb then Chozen flips backwards fast and delivers a quick paced Hurracanrana and runs to the ropes and hits the rolling thunder and goes for another cover. ONE... TWO... kick out again. Chozen gets ready for another Chozen Spear and Jaeger slowly gets up to his feet and Chozen goes for it but Jaeger steps to the side again and drops to a knee using all of Chozens momentum to send him over with Jaegerspiel and he jumps on for the cover hooking the leg tight on the dazed Chozen. ONE.... TWO.... THREEE!)
HS: "Jaeger has done it, he will move on to the Hell Chamber!"
FJ: "Jaeger just beat his partner..."
HS: "And Chozen would have done the same thing, it's all for the Chamber, it's all for the gold."
(After a commercial for the AWA 2003 In Review DVD we are shown a highlight package on the Brian Williams-Jayson Price, going all the way back to last summer, before we go back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, we are just about ready for our next match up, and perhaps the most anticipated Hell Bowl match of the evening."
FJ: "I know I’ve been really looking forward to this. Already tonight I’ve seen Low and Dave Santini win and I’m just as anxious to see Brian Williams move on."
HS: "The World Champion has to go through a formidable Misery first, if he is to advance. With his title on the line."
FJ: "To be honest, I’d be just as happy to see Misery advance as I would Brian Williams. But either way, I’m ready for some pain and destruction!"
HS: "Both synonymous with the World Champion. At seven feet tall, not many men in AWA have even been able to put a dent in Brian’s title reign."
FJ: "But Misery is the Television Champion and a proven warrior. I can’t wait to get this party started!"
HS: "And you’re in luck because the producers have just informed me that both men are waiting in their dressing rooms and the match is about to begin!"
FJ: "I feel like a kid again, Herb! The pain, the anguish… ahhh, the memories."
HS: "Can you listen to this crowd? Even they are anxious to see the action. And it’s no secret that AWA fans haven’t been very supportive of either of these two champions!"
FJ: "If I may use a colloquialism, this place is electric!"
(The crowd hits their feet as Ill Nino’s "What Comes Around" blares over the P.A. Soon, the enigmatic Jayson Price stands atop the entrance ramp, donned in his usual black outfit. His television title draped over his shoulder, Misery begins slowly walking down the entrance ramp, cracking his knuckles and ignoring the AWA fans; as usual.)
HS: "Here comes the Television Champion! And I must say, Misery looks as focused and cold as ever."
FJ: "From the look of him, I like his chances tonight."
HS: "Yes, but what kind of condition might he be in? Jayson Price has competed on the last three AWA shows, including an exciting win over Bryan Peek a week ago tonight."
FJ: "But not excluding a hard fought match this past Thursday where Misery and Low were cheated out of a win by that despicable King Chozen."
HS: "And you have to wonder what kind of condition Price is in after receiving two Chozen spears in that match."
FJ: "I actually might agre… OH MY GOD!"
HS: "What in the hell?"
FJ: "Brian Williams is ready to start this match now! He just attacked Misery from behind!"
HS: "Brian Williams just nailed Misery in the back of the head with a three hundred fifty pound clothesline!"
(As Jayson Price stumbles to the steel grating, the fans know Bryan Williams what they think about him. But the World Champion is intently focused on his opponent. Williams begins kicking at Price in the ribs, guiding him with each kick and rolling him down the ramp.)
HS: "This is a low tactic from Williams, but perhaps it may be smart as well."
FJ: "That’s right Brian! Kick him like a soccer ball. HA!"
HS: "Shut up, Frank."
(Williams picks the dazed Price up by the scruff of the neck, placing one massive palm on him, and tosses him into the ring like a puppet. Price struggles to get to his feet, but as he gets to one knee, Williams is already standing over him, glaring menacingly down at him like a tiger over its prey.)
FJ: "You thought Price looked focused! Williams is out to prove something. He’s giving a message to all the Hell Bowl competitors that there’s a damn good reason why he’s the World Champion!"
HS: "Brian Williams is quickly gaining the upper hand here tonight."
(Williams stomps on Price a bit more, before helping the TV Champ up by his hair. Williams’s begins cursing at Price before nailing him with a huge head butt. Misery drops to the mat, sprawled out dazed, and Williams lumbers over him glaring at his victim.)
FJ: "Brian Williams is a monster. He’s just man handling Price like a toy."
HS: "Who knows how this match may have been progressing had Williams not assaulted Price before the match began."
FJ: "I know, isn’t he brilliant?"
(Williams begins laughing at Misery and mocking the fans. He again picks up Price by the hair. But the resilient Jayson Price lunges at Williams’s gut with a barrage of piercing elbows. The well aimed shots hit Williams in the solar plexus, forcing the wind out of him. As Williams struggles to catch his breath, Jayson takes some time to regain his composure, using the nearby ropes to lean on. Soon both men shake out the cobwebs and are standing center ring.)
HS: "Jayson Price may have bought himself some time, here."
(Williams lunges out at Price with a clothesline, but the smaller and quicker Misery ducks. The Television Champion is the first to react, wheeling around and taking stance. Just as Brian Williams wheels around, Price lunges out with fierce stiff kicks to the Champ’s abdomen. Price then begins chopping across Williams’s chest as the fans react.)
HS: "It looks like the momentum may be shifting. Misery has renewed life!"
FJ: "That Misery is vicious for such a small guy."
(Brian tries to swat off Misery, like a fly, but Price rolls around behind Williams. The TV Champ then begins to lift up Williams, going for a German Suplex.)
HS: "This could be big!"
(However, Brian Williams powers out of Misery’s grip and steps to the side, scooping him up and quickly dropping him down with a side slam, planting all his weight into Price.)
FJ: "Well, so much for that."
HS: "Nice counter by the big man."
(Williams holds Price down for a cover and the referee counts ONE!… TWO!… Kick out. Williams gets to his feet, arguing with the referee, leaving Price to nurse his wounds. Jayson Price, though, wisely rolls out of the ring, avoiding Williams’s detection.)
HS: "Smart move by Price. Perhaps he can regain some composure."
FJ: "Misery already looks worn out."
(By the time Williams can find Misery, the TV Champ has already caught his breath. Brian Williams begins to stalk Price, climbing over the ropes and hoping to the concrete floor to do so. Misery is leaning on the steel ring steps, with one arm, supporting himself up.)
FJ: "Looks like easy pickings for the World Champion."
HS: "I wouldn’t be so sure."
(Williams sees Misery and like a bull seeing red, begins charging. But Jayson has setting a trap, and he suddenly lashes out, catching Williams around the arm and dragging him head first into the steel steps via a cross arm breaker. With a loud thud, the seven foot World Champion is out.)
FJ: "OOOOH! That looked painful."
HS: "Williams fell right into that one. Uncharacteristically un-veteran by Brian Williams."
FJ: "And look, the World Champion is busted open!"
HS: "Now he really is seeing red."
FJ: "I think he just got too focused on hurting Misery. I bet he won’t make that same mistake again when that situation arises again."
HS: "IF… it arises."
(The fans begin to cheer at the action, but Jayson Price goes right to work. After a few kicks, he rolls the big man up into the ring, following suit. Misery then locks in a choke hold sleeper on Brian Williams, attempting to force more life out of him. As Misery locks the choke in tighter, more and more blood begins gushing from the cut over Brian‘s brow.)
HS: "Misery may win this one with his craftiness."
FJ: "I must say, I’ve enjoyed this match thus far."
HS: "It has been action packed."
FJ: "I was more referring to the blood spewing from Brian Williams. HARDCORE!"
(The referee checks on Brian Williams, who is still conscious, but barely. He raises one arm into the air and lets it go. Before it can even hit the mat once, Brian Williams clenches his fist and grits his teeth. Suddenly, his eyes open wide and Williams looks fiercer than ever. The blood running down his face has seemed to spark something in him.)
HS: "Whoa, Williams is showing some sign of life here."
FJ: "He‘s like a shark and the blood has awoken him."
(Williams then begins fighting for leverage, simply overpowering the persistent Price. Jayson never releases the hold, even when Williams is up to his feet. Brian Williams then stands up and Misery hangs on, nearly swinging from his neck. Brian Williams tries to toss Misery off, but the Television Champion refuses to let go. Finally, Brian Williams begins charging full speed at the nearest turnbuckle. Just as he gets there, he wheels around, slamming Misery right into it. Price still, however, doesn’t release the hold.)
HS: "Jayson Price refuses to give up. I must say, I may not always agree with his tactics, but he is certainly a tough competitor."
FJ: "He’s like the monkey on Brian Williams’s back."
(Williams slams Price into the turnbuckle several more times before Misery finally releases his grip in unbearable pain. Williams quickly uses this opportunity and rolls his arm around, grabbing Misery around the head in a twisted looking front face lock. Suddenly, Brian Williams drops to the mat, bringing down his elbow into Misery’s face in a wicked and obviously painful reverse DDT.)
FJ: "OH MY GOD! THAT’S THE MORBID REALITY!"
HS: "Brian Williams may have just broken Misery’s nose or crushed his face."
FJ: "Not to mention the awkward position in which they fell. All three hundred fifty pounds of the World Champion landed right onto Misery. The Television Champion is out cold. This is just… amazing."
(Blood streams down the lifeless face of Jayson Price, exhuming from his nasal canal. Brian Williams pins Misery’s shoulders and the referee counts as the fans are stunned silent. ONE!… TWO!… No!)
HS: "What the hell is Brian Williams doing? He had this thing won!"
FJ: "I don’t think he’s done with Misery just yet."
HS: "This is horrible… that man should be locked up for this."
(Brian Williams picks up Misery with one hand around the neck. Jayson Price is practically unconscious and unable to stand on his own. Brian Williams simply laughs, morbidly, as he begins to lift Price into the air.)
HS: "Oh no! Not this… I think Brian Williams is setting Price up for the Struggle Within!"
FJ: "Even I’m speechless, Herb."
(However, two small arms reach up and grab Williams’s. The referee begins to order that Williams release Price and calls for the bell, declaring Brian Williams the winner by knock out.)
HS: "Thank God, someone saved him. Brian Williams could have killed him!"
FJ: "This match has been unforgettable and extreme!"
(Brian Williams looks down at the referee and slowly sets Misery to the mat. But just as the referee tries to grab Williams’s arm to raise it in victory, he gets shoved down to the mat. Brian Williams then lifts Misery up and slams him back down hard into the mat with a choke slam.)
HS: "DEAR GOD NO!"
FJ: "That was just brutal! I don’t think Jayson Price is even stable anymore!"
HS: "Oh no, what’s he doing now?"
FJ: "I think he’s going to finish up the Struggle Within! Brian Williams is still trying to set an example for his competitors!"
(Frank seems to be correct, because Brian Williams hasn’t taken his eyes from backstage yet. He lifts up Price’s leg, as if going for the submission half of his finisher, but then he just drops Price’s leg to the mat. Brian Williams then wipes a handful of blood from his face and cleans it off on Misery’s chest as ‘Sad But True’ blares over the loudspeakers.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, your winner, and still World Champion, the monster, Brian Williams."
(We go to a commercial for the AWA's Greatest Tag Teams DVD before cutting to a video package highlighting the relations between the six participants of the Hell Bowl Chamber... Williams vs. Low last fall... Christianson and Santini as part of The Hostile Alliance in 2002 and The Blueprint in 2003 and 2004... Christianson vs. Low last summer... Christianson vs. Fish... Santini vs. Low in 2001 and 2002... Low vs. Fish and the Tag Team title tournament final just a few weeks ago... we then go to quick highlights of the six singles matches where these six men qualified for the Hell Bowl Chamber. Then we go back to Herb and Frank.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is it, the main event of Hell On Earth, the first-ever Hell Bowl Chamber. Six men have qualified in singles matches earlier tonight and one man will leave the structure that is about to be lowered the AWA World Heavyweight Champion. The question is who has the most energy left after his previous match and who has the luck of the draw?"
(A music that sounds like a nervous heartbeat starts playing and the lights go dark. Only a few spotlights focus on the Hell Bowl Chamber that now starts being lowered from the ceiling over the ring. As it settles in its final location fireworks go off. The camera goes wide and we see the details of the huge Chamber: a 16' high dome made of 2 miles of steel chains and weighing 10 tons covers the ring and the entire area around it. Behind every corner post there is a small chamber-within-the-chamber made of glass.)
FJ: "What an impressive structure."
HS: "It is indeed. One advantage of the chamber for the wrestlers is that they don't fall the usual long way to the concrete floor, as there are elevated steel floors [OOC: didn't know how to explain it better] next to each side of the ring. The disadvantage is that their flesh will connect with hard and cold steel."
FJ: "Now, the six men will enter the arena. The last two men will start the match, the other four will each be locked in one of the glass chambers. Every three minutes a new men enters the match. Elimination can occur at any point during the match via pinfall or submission. Let's get this started."
("I'm Going Out" by Mobb Deep begins to play and the crowd starts booing as "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson makes his way down the ramp. He stops before entering the Hell Bowl Chamber and looks up at the huge dome. He then gets into the cage and walks into one of the glass chambers.)
HS: "Jeff Christianson defeated Joshua Carpenter earlier tonight. He is only the third Grand Slam Champion in AWA history. He is a record-holding three-time United States Champion and most recently held the Tag Team title along with C-Rock. His main goal, however, is to regain the AWA World title, which he lost to Mortis Valley after a three-week reign last June."
FJ: "And he has all the talent in the world to achieve his goal. However, I think his Blueprint partner Dave Santini might have a problem with this."
(As if on cue "Pour Some Sugar On Me" hits the speakers and Dave "The Rave" Santini makes his way out from the back to even more boos than Christianson. He yells at some fans on his way down, but just as DW did before him, he stops at the bottom of the ramp to give the Chamber a closer look. With a serious look on his face he enters the Chamber. He briefly walks by DW's chamber and looks at him, but then walks into his own glass chamber.)
HS: "Along with Low and John Blaze Santini has been one of the AWA's earliest superstars. He made his debut during the summer of 2000 and since then has been part of the company most of the time, whether it was as World, United States or Hardcore Champion, commissioner of manager. He has been part of The Family, The Hostile Alliance and now The Blueprint."
FJ: "Yes, and he's done a tremendous job with each of his stables and positions. This is his first pay-per-match since losing to Adam Bawm at Classic last August and he faces not only his Blueprint partner Jeff Christianson but also a former Family stablemate and enemy in The Legendary Low."
HS: "Santini defeated Damien Kross earlier tonight. He thinks being the World Champion is his destiny and he seeks to regain the title he lost to Ray Owens after a two-week reign in December 2002."
("Two Of Us" by Laibach starts playing and Jaeger Khrushchev comes out from the back. He raises his fist into the air and then puts it to his heart before marching down the ramp. He hands his AWA Tag Team title belt to a ring attendant and walks into his glass chamber.)
HS: "Jaeger Khrushchev made his debut about one month ago and is already making waives. Until tonight he only wrestled in tag team matches, but did so reasonably well, being undefeated and teaming with King Chozen to win the vacant Tag Team title earlier this week. He defeated Chozen tonight to enter the Hell Bowl Chamber and now has the chance to advance his cause by becoming the World Heavyweight Champion."
FJ: "I don't like Nazis."
HS: "Ummm, Frank... Jaeger is not a Nazi."
FJ: "Then what is he?"
HS: "He is a..."
FJ: "STOP! I don't care enough, really."
("Trendy" be Real Big Fish hits the PA system and the arena turns blue as The Fish makes his way to the ring, accompanied by water fountains shooting out from the ramp. He hands the Cruiserweight title belt to the ring attendant and makes his way into the CHamber.)
HS: "The Fish is a former AWA TV Champion, but more notably he is a three-time and reigning AWA Cruiserweight Champion. He is the longest-reigning Champion and won this last title from none other than Low."
FJ: "Wait, wait, wait, Herb. First of all, he defeated The Voyeur, okay? And more importantly, he actually never defeated him but merely won when Low, I mean The Voyeur, gave up that title on purpose."
HS: "That's your side of the story. However, The Fish's goal is to become the World Champion and be a Champion the Fish Fanatics can look up to. To advance to Hell Bowl he defeated his former tag team partner BlackJack."
("I Wanna Be Your Dog" by Iggy Pop starts playing and the crowd erupts in boos as The Legendary Low, without Ramona A. Stone, makes his way to the ring. He jaws with some fans on his way down before stepping into the Chamber. He walks over to Dave Santini and then to Jeff Christianson, waving and smiling to both of them.)
HS: "Why would Low mess with Santini and Christianson when he already has Fish and Jaeger on his bad side?"
FJ: "Because..."
HS: "Oh, Frank, I don't really care for it. However, Low has to be one of the favorites going into this match tonight. He has been uncharacteristically quiet in recent days, but his proven track record makes him a favorite. He is a three-time AWA World Champion, holding the record for the two longest reigns in history. He lost his last title to Zeal at Last Man Standing last October and looks to win it for the fourth time tonight. To advance he beat Evan Spire earlier tonight."
("Sad But True" by Metallica hits and the crowd boos even louder as the current AWA World Heavyweight Champion Brian Williams comes out. He looks focused and steadily makes his way down the ramp and into the Chamber.)
HS: "Williams made his debut as Death Angel early last year and has left a path of destruction behind him. He won the Hardcore title twice last year, including a victory over Aaron Matthewson, before unifying the TV title and the Hardcore title. At Wrestlefest V he defeated Zeal to win the World title and has since ended Zeal's career."
FJ: "And Brian Williams is probably the most dangerous man in such an environment. He has proven time and time again that he is a monster once the rules are thrown out of the window. Plus, he is a huge man... a huge OBSESSED man, obsessed with being the World Heavyweight Champion."
(Behind each glass chamber there is a referee. A fifth referee closes the large dore and locks it up. The sixth referee inside the ring calls for the bell. Williams and Low stare at each other and start circling. Williams officially starts the match as he lunges at Low, but the quicker Low ducks and immediately goes into the ropes. Low ducks a clothesline attempt by Williams. He bounces off the ropes again and slides through Williams' legs. Low then slaps Williams' head from behind and goes into the ropes again. Williams, with an angry look on his face, connects this time around, hitting Low with a big boot.)
HS: "Low probably shouldn't anger Williams any more."
FJ: "Well, we know Low always has a tactic, so maybe he counts on Williams losing his temper and making a mistake. On the other hand, Low doesn't have to beat Williams, he only has to be the last man standing."
HS: "True, but until then he has to SURVIVE Williams."
(Williams has mounted Low and starts pummeling him with lefts and rights. Low, however, is able slip out of the World Champion's grip and hits a nasty kick to the back of Williams' head. Low follows up with a series of kicks to the back of Williams' head, neck and shoulder, but Williams slowly makes his way back up and floors Low with a right fist to Low's forehead.Williams picks up Low, Irish whips him and then catches and presses him high over his head before dropping him face first onto the mat.)
HS: "Impressive strength by Brian Williams."
FJ: "And he's doing it again."
(Indeed Williams has picked up Low and Irish whips him again. Another Gorilla press follows, but this time Williams walks towards the ropes and throws Low several feet out of the ring and against the steel chains of the Chamber! Low drops to the steel mesh out side and starts screaming in pain, as the crowd gives Williams a "Holy shit!"-chant.)
HS: "Did you see the power on Williams' part? He's a monster! He might have broken Low in half!"
FJ: "I enjoy watching Williams destroying everything in his path, but not The Legendary Low!"
(Williams exits the ring and joins Low on the steel mesh. He pulls Low to his knees, grabs his head with both his hands and starts smashing Low's face into the Chamber until Low's face is a crimson mask.)
HS: "Low is bleeding now and Williams seems able to play with Low any way he wants."
FJ: „Oh no, first his nose earlier and now this!"
(Still on the steel mesh Williams whips Low into the ropes, then sidesteps him and throws him full force into the steel chains of the Chamber. Williams pulls Low up again and rakes the former World Champion's face into the chains, worsening Low's bloody face. Williams then pulls at Low's mouth, almost bending him over in a camel clutch position, as the first countdown clock appears in the right corner of the screen.)
FJ: "Ten seconds before the next man enters the 'lion's den'."
(The crowd counts down..... 4..... 3..... 2..... 1.... The lights go dark and spotlights start flickering above each glass chamber before one of them stops on the chamber of...)
HS: "Jaeger Khrushchev!"
FJ: "And I bet that Nazi now has his way with an already battered and bloodied Low."
HS: "He is NOT a Nazi!"
FJ: "Ahhh, those Scandinavians are all the same to me."
(We can hear Herb moan at Frank's lack of knowledge as Jaeger chamber opens and he exits it to the cheers of the fans. He immediately joins Low and Williams outside of the ring, stomping Williams from behind and thus releasing his grip on Low. Jaeger tries keeping Williams on the ground by nailing him with fists right to the head, but Williams is able to fight his way back up. He backs Jaeger up on the ropes by nailing a series of fists himself. He then charges Jaeger, but Jaeger is able to counter with a hiptoss right into the ring.)
FJ: "Whoa, Williams made a mistake there."
HS: "Jaeger is, of course, much quicker than Williams is and he just used this to his full advantage."
(Meanwhile Low is slowly making his way back up, but Jaeger sends him against the chain wall of the Chamber with a well-placed thrust kick. Williams is back up and grabs Jaeger from behind, but Jaeger grabs Williams' head and then drops down, clotheslining Williams' throat over the top rope. Jaeger then grabs Low and hits a Russian legsweep onto the steel mesh.)
HS: "Wow, Low is getting his here tonight. Seems like all the scouting hasn't paid off."
FJ: "YET, Herb, I say YET!"
(Jaeger climbs onto the top rope and looks at the still-grounded Williams. He then comes off the ropes, hitting a flying kneedrop. Jaeger waits for Williams to get up again. He then locks his arms around Williams' waist and goes for a German suplex, but Williams simply shifts his considerable weight and hooks his leg around Jaeger's to counter the suplex. He frees himself by hitting a series of elbows to Jaeger's head. Williams then turns around and hits Jaeger with a short clothesline.)
FJ: "He's really on top of his game tonight. First the total destruction of Misery and now this!"
(Williams has picked Jaeger up and now hits the choke slam leading to the Struggle Within! The crowd is on its feet as the clock appears on our screen again. One half of the crowd screams for Jaeger to get out of Williams' finisher, the other half counts down..... 5..... 4..... 3..... 2..... 1..... The lights flicker again and this time the glass chamber of Jeff Christianson opens as the crowd mostly boos him.)
FJ: "What? Do they want to see Fish, or what's their problem?"
HS: "I guess so."
(DW quickly gets into the ring and nails Williams with a Harley Race high knee, thus freeing Jaeger from the Struggle Within. Christianson is all over the World Champion, stomping away on him. He pulls Williams up and Irish whips him. DW bounces off the far ropes himself and hits Williams with a quick spinning wheelkick. He then goes for the Ankle Lock, but Williams is able to turn around on the mat and push DW to the ground with both his feet. Both men are back up and DW charges Williams, but Williams kicks DW's stomach and then hits a choke slam. Just as Williams turns around to celebrate his dominance, he is met by a kick to the midsection and a Low Stunner! Low then sits up and is about to get to his feet, but at that very moment Jaeger Khrushchev comes from behind and hits a neck snap on Low. All four men are down.)
FJ: "Wow, what action."
HS: "Dark Warrior came in going right after Williams, but Williams simply ran him over as well. Low, who has lost quite some blood here, snuck up on him and gave him a Stunner, but Jaeger smartly capitalized on Low's exhaustion."
(Jaeger is the first man back up on his feet. He walks over to Williams, who has been weakened by DW's Ankle Lock and the Low Stunner and applies the Manifesto! The crowd cheers him on, sensing he might eliminate the World Heavyweight Champion early. However, Jaeger doesn't see Christianson getting up on the top rope and jumping off, hitting Jaeger with a frog splash and breaking up the Manifesto.)
FJ: "Hey, we haven't seen that one in a while."
(Christianson is up on his feet again, but as he turns around Low kicks him right into the groin, pulls his legs out from under him and applies the Low Profile! The fans actually cheer this one.)
FJ: "Hey, stop cheering him! He doesn't want that!"
HS: "I'm sure they just cheer because they know how dangerous the Low Profile can be. However, the clock is running down again."
(The fans count down..... 4..... 3..... 2..... 1..... The lights flicker once again and this time The Fish can leave his glass chamber. He jumps right into the ring and breaks up the Low Profile by hitting a diamond cutter on Low. The fans go wild as Fish pulls Low up and whips him into the ropes. He hits a picture-perfect dropkick and sends Low over the top rope and onto the steel mesh. While Low slowly gets back to a standing position Fish has climbed up on top of one of the empty glass chambers. Low turns around and is hit by Fish's somersault onto the mesh. Fish makes the first cover of the match and the referee quickly climbs out of the ring to count 1..... 2..... and a kickout.)
HS: "The Fish is intend on showing that he belongs in one match with these men. Plus, he has the chance to pay Low back for the Voyeur-stunt he pulled."
(Back in the ring Jaeger and Dark Warrior have started slugging it out, exchanging lefts, rights and a couple of chops to the "Whoooo's" of the fans. Suddenly, however, Williams nails both of them with a double-clothesline. He waits for them to get up and then grabs both men by their throat. Before he is able to hit a double-chokeslam, however, Jaeger and DW give him a simultaneous kick to his groin. Jaeger grabs Williams' head and hits an Implant DDT. DW takes over and applies his Hard To Hold on Williams. Meanwhile Jaeger climbs out of the ring and joins The Fish in punishing Low a little more.)
FJ: "They can't do that!"
HS: "Jaeger and Fish are each holding one of Low's arms and repeatedly slam his back into the steel chains of the Chamber."
(After being slammed into the chain wall for the fifth time, Low drops to his knees and acts according to his name, hitting both men with low blows. He grounds Jaeger with a Yakuza kick and then grabs Fish by the neck. Low takes a few steps back and then smashes Fish against one of the glass chambers, but the glass doesn't break.)
FJ: "Haha, now the fun begins for the legendary one."
HS: "The crowd cannot believe Low would try to throw the smaller Fish through the heavy glass!"
(But he does and in fact tries a second time, this time slightly cracking the glass. Low takes a few more steps back again and throws Fish against the glass one more time and this time the glass breaks and Fish is thrown into the glass chamber. Another "Holy shit!"-chant starts before the crowd starts booing loudly. A camera close-up shows us that The Fish is bleeding from his arms. Low gets back into the ring where Jeff Christianson has since applied a Boston crab on Williams, desperately trying to make him give up. Low tries to hit a Stunner on DW, but DW catches Low's foot, grounds Low with a legsweep and then applies a sharpshooter.)
FJ: "What is it with him trying to humiliate Low?"
HS:" Come on, Frank, Low deserves if after what he did to about everybody in the last three years plus."
(The clock is ticking down again and Dave Santini readies himself to enter the carnage. Instead of counting down the fans unmercifully boo Santini, who stands in his glass chamber yelling at them. The clock ticks down and Santini slowly enters the ring. He walks over to where DW still applies the sharpshooter to Low, who tries to fight it, however. Santini walks right up to Christianson, his Blueprint partner, and stares him right into the face, causing DW to release the sharpshooter on Low.)
FJ: "No, no, no!"
HS: "There might be some early friction in the recently reunited Blueprint."
(Santini and Dark Warrior almost stand face-to-face and talk to each other, with things being said that apparently upset both men. Just as both men seem ready to throw fists at each other, Williams spins Santini around and Jaeger spins DW around. Two fist fights break out, with Christianson and Santini getting the upper hand each. A chop by DW grounds Jaeger, while a short-arm clothesline puts the World Champion to the mat. Unintentionally the two touch each other's backs in the middle of the ring. They turn around and again start trash-talking each other.)
HS: "There seems to be some friction in The Blueprint."
FJ: "Well, they are both hungry for gold, it's nothing more, Herb."
(Suddenly, on the outside, The Fish jumps onto then top rope and hits a springboard dropkick into Santini's neck, causing him to fall into DW and both men falling to the mat. The crowd roars and Fish is fired up. He mounts Santini and hits a series of fists to Santini's face. But just as Fish is up on his feet again Dark Warrior rakes Fish's bloodied arm and then hooks his head, hitting a snap suplex. DW doesn't relaese the hold and instead rolls around. He hits a second snap suplex. DW rolls around and goes for another snap suplex, but Fish counters with a knee to DW's ribs, jumps up and hits a beautiful Tornado DDT.)
HS: "Fish seems to have caught second wind after being thrown through the glass earlier on."
(From behind comes Dave Santini, however, and hits an elbow to the back of Fish's head. He then hooks applies a full nelson, but only for a short time, before lifting Fish up and hitting a full nelson slam. Dave doesn't realize, however, that Jaeger has climbed to the second turnbuckle. Just as Dave turns around Jaeger jumps off and hits a nasty DDT on Santini to the loud cheers of the fans. Santini then rolls under the bottom rope, out of the ring and onto the steel mesh. In the ring Brian Williams has sneaked up on Jaeger from behind and now hits the Morbid Reality. He has little time to recuperate, though, because Low grabs him from behind, applies a chicken wing crossface, froces Williams to the mat and applies the Low Standard!)
HS: "The Low Standard! Brian Williams may very well leave this match right here and right now, thus losing his World title!"
FJ: "What's this, Herb?"
(None of the participants in the ring see Lethal Louise making her way down to the ramp quickly. All men are on the ground, and the only action is Low pulling back on the Low Standard. Louiese, however, is quick enough to slide The Equalizer into the Chamber before being grabbed by two of the referees and escorted backstage again.)
FJ: "Santini's got The Equalizer! Now the tide will change!"
(Santini reaches for The Equalizer and then gets back into the ring. He hits Low in the back of the head with it and then drops down to his knees. Meanwhile Fish is back up on his feet and walks over to Santini, not realizing he has The Equalizer with him. He grabs Santini's by the hair, but is met by The Equalizer to his stomach. Santini then grabs Fish and hits the Ravin' Driver. Instead of covering Fish, though, he crawls over to Low and puts his arm over him. The referee counts 1..... 2..... No! VERY close kick out by Low!)
FJ: "I thought he had him!"
HS: "His ego got the best of him there as he wanted that elusive win over Low!"
(Santini can't believe it and is irate. He starts yelling at the referee, but to no avail, as the official clarifies that it was only a two-count. Jaeger sneaks up from behind, though, and applies a cobra clutch. Just as Santini is about to drop to his knees Jaeger hits a bulldog while still holding on to the cobra clutch. The bloody mess that is Low slowly makes his way to his feet. As he turns around, Brian Williams grabs him and presses him over his head once again.)
FJ: "Yuck!!"
HS: "What a gruesome sight! The Equalizer has busted Low open even more and his blood is dripping all over Williams' body!"
(Williams seems to be in a blood rush now as he has a horrifying look on his face. After pressing him up a few more times, Williams drops Low with the Revelation. Williams covers Low and the referee counts 1..... 2..... 3! Low is eliminated!)
FJ: "WHAT!?!?"
HS: "The fans can't believe it and neither can I! The Legendary Low is the first man eliminated from the Hell Bowl Chamber!"
(Officials open the Chamber and help Low out. The remaining five men are all on the mat, but Santini and Jaeger are the first ones up again. They start slugging it out in the middle of the ring, but Jaeger seems to be the one gaining the upper hand. Jaeger goes for an underhook suplex, but Santini blocks it with one leg, sneaks behind Jaeger and hits a German suplex into a pinning position. The referee counts 1..... 2..... and Jaeger kicks out. Dave pulls Jaeger up by his hair and picks him up for the Ravin' Driver, but Jaeger struggles free and ends up behind Santini. He pulls Dave's legs out from under him, hooks one of his legs and applies an STF. Dave lifts his hand as if he's about to tap out, but Dark Warrior saves him with a stiff kick right into Jaeger's face.)
HS: "What a stupid move!"
FJ: "Oh, so friendship doesn't count anything in your book, Herb?"
(Fish goes for a springboard moonsault, but the stronger Christianson is able to catch him in a power slam position. Instead, DW starts running towards the ropes and throws Fish into the Chamber wall.)
FJ: "Haha, Dark Warrior is playing human dart tonight."
(Jaeger spins DW around and hits a double knee lift. DW is leaning against the ropes and Jaeger follows up with a clothesline, sending himself and DW out of the ring, thus joining Fish on the steel mesh. Dave Santini is resting in a corner while Brian Williams leans against the ropes on the other side of the ring. Slowly, Dark Warrior, Fish and Jaeger Khrushchev are getting up again. Suddenly, Williams starts running across the ring and hits a suicide dive on the group of wrestlers standing on the outside, hitting his back on the chain wall of the Chamber. Jaeger, however, was able to move out of the way, but instead he gets hit Dave Santini and The Equalizer. Dave gets out of the ring and grabs Jaeger by his neck and trousers. He starts running and throws Jaeger into one of the other glass chambers, using enough force to send him through the glass on his first try. As the crowd boos Santini loudly the camera focuses on Jaeger lying in broken glass, parts of his face cut open. Santini simply drops on top of him and the referee counts 1..... 2..... 3! Jaeger Khrushchev has been eliminated!)
HS: "The fans don't like this one bit!"
FJ: "But I do! He's achieved more than a Nazi should."
HS: "He is no... argh, forget about it."
(The referees help Jaeger out of the ring. The four remaining men are all on the mat, or rather the steel mesh. Santini slowly gets up and has to be careful to not cut himself open. Williams is holding his back from the impact of his suicide dive. DW and Fish are getting up now, however. Still on the steel mesh, Fish kicks DW's midsection and then gets him into position for a piledriver. He lifts him up and goes Deap Sea Driver, but Christianson is able to get his feet back to the ground. He steps over and brings Fish down onto the steel mesh, applying the Ankle Lock! The referee is immediately there and The Fish has no chance but to tap out. The Fish has been eliminated!)
HS: "And the fans don't like this either."
FJ: "Well, but I do. Screw the fans! Now we're down to Dark Warrior, Santini and Williams."
(Santini is now up again as well and starts talking to DW. He points at Williams and makes the championship belt motion around his waist. DW nods and the two walk over to Williams and pick him up and hit a double-bodyslam onto the steel mesh.)
FJ: "Ahhhh, that's a whole lot better! The Blueprint is working together now."
HS: "I thought you were rooting for Williams?"
FJ: "You know, as long as it's not the animal or the Nazi I don't really care."
(Santini and Christianson pick Williams up again and lean him against the ropes. The re-enter the ring and then hook Williams' head. They lift him up and hit a huge double-vertical suplex.)
HS: "I don't like Williams' chances of retaining his title in this current environment."
(DW now pulls Williams up to his feet and then holds him for Santini. Santini starts laying in on Williams, slapping him several times and punching him while shouting insults at him. After a good minute of this, Santini walks over and picks up The Equalizer. He belittles Williams a little more before taking a swing and hitting him with The Equalizer right across the head, opening a nasty cut above Williams' left eye. Williams slumps down and Santini covers for 1..... 2..... NO! Dark Warrior pulled Santini off of Williams. Santini is irate and immediately pushes and yells at DW. DW pushes and yells back and the two seem to be on the verge of being at each other's throat. However, they settle down and seem to come to an understanding that they should eliminate Williams together. DW pulls Williams up and holds him for Santini again. Santini, Equalizer in hand, climbs to the second turnbuckle and takes measure.)
FJ: "Whoa, this could end up nasty."
(Santini jumps off the turnbuckle, but Williams is able to duck and Santini nails DW instead with The Equalizer! Williams sends Santini over the top rope with a big boot and then falls onto a bloodied Dark Warrior. The referee counts 1..... 2..... 3! Dark Warrior is eliminated!)
HS: "Their plan backfired and now it's Brian Williams versus Dave Santini for the World Heavyweight title!"
(As the referees help Christianson out of the ring Santini seems to apologize to him. However, the door closes and as Santini turns around, Williams has joined him on the steel mesh. Santini takes the initiative and hits Williams with a series of right fists to the bloodied face, but Williams grabs Santini by the throat and slams him against the chains of the Chamber, not once, not twice, but three times. Santini now hangs in the chains and Williams charges and hits a splash against the wall. Santini holds his ribs, but Williams doesn't allow Santini to rest. he pulls him up and hits a second splash against the steel chain door of the Chamber. Williams picks Santini up again and leans him against the chains. He charges one more time, this time adding some force by bouncing off the ropes, but Santini is able to duck and Williams runs full force into the chains.)
FJ: "Oh my god!"
HS: "He broke the lock and the door was broken open!!!"
(The force of Williams' impact has actually destroyed the lock of the Chamber and opened the door, cuasing Williams to fall out of the Chamber and onto the steel ramp. The ringisde referees immediately check on Williams and discuss what to do next. Santini slides out of the Chamber and crawls over to Williams. He covers him, but the referee refuses to count the pin. Instead, he yells at them to re-enter the Chamber.)
FJ: "Why doesn't that idiot count?"
HS: "Because this was not supposed to happen! This is not within the rules. The match has to be decided inside the Chamber."
(Santini now walks over to the ring barricade and pushes an elderly man out of his front row seat. Santini grabs the man's chair and then returns to Williams, who has since gotten back onto his knees. Santini lifts the chair high into the air and hits Williams right across the back. Williams holds his back and screams in pain, but Santini has no mercy and hits Williams' back over and over again, basically forcing him to crawl up the steps and back into the Chamber.)
HS: "Santini is showing his sadistic side tonight, a side we have seen many times before. It seems as if not even a monster like Brian Williams is impervious to that amount of pain."
FJ: "He treats him like cattle, Herb. I love it! Thank god that Santini is back."
HS: "I don't like Williams one bit, but he has received almost ten chair shots to the so far. I actually fear for his health."
(Williams struggles to get back up on his feet. A chair shot right to Williams' face sends him over the top rope and into the ring. Blood is dripping down Williams' face, but he still tries to get up again. Williams is on his knees now and Santini starts yelling at him. He hoists the chair high up into the air and goes for a chair shot right to Williams' head, but Williams counters with a low blow. Santini sinks down to his knees while Williams gets back up. He takes the chair away from Santini, who is clutching his crotch. Now it's Williams' turn, as he nails Santini with the chair as well, opening a huge cut on Santini's forehead.)
HS: "The amount of blood spilled here tonight is just unbelievable."
(Williams holds on to the chair while pulling Santini up. Williams whips Santini into the ropes and as he bounces off throws the chair right into Santini's face. Williams picks both, Santini and the chair, up again and repeats the previous maneuver. This time, however, Santini is able to catch the chair. He takes a wild swing at Williams, but Williams ducks and kicks the chair right into Santini's face. Santini drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring, but Williams follows him onto the steel mesh.)
FJ: "Haha, look at those stupid referees!"
(As Santini and Williams get near the door again, the outside referees all lean against the door in order for it not to open again. Williams now grabs Santini by the hair and picks him up for a power slam. Instead of slamming him onto the steel floor, however, Williams starts runing with Santini on his shoulder and rams him face first into one of the intact glass chambers!)
HS: "Have you heard that sick sound of skull connecting with glass that does NOT break? This is so sick!"
(The glass doesn't break, but Williams doesn't release Santini. Instead he runs towards the glass chamber a second time, ramming Santini's head into the glass again, this time breaking it in a thousand pieces.)
FJ: "Santini's face is a crimson mask! He looks even sicker than Low did earlier on!"
(Williams now uses all the strength that's left within in his body to pick Santini up, press him high over his head and send him down with the Revelation. Williams covers and the referee counts 1..... 2..... 3! Brian Williams retains the World title!)
HS: "I can't believe it!"
FJ: "What a great performance by OUR World Heavyweight Champion! He went bell to bell and destroyed everyone that was in his path!"
("Sad But True" hits the speakers and officials and EMTs are running down the ramp with stretchers. Lethal Louise makes her way down the ramp as well as the crowd can't quite decide whether to boo the hated Williams retaining the title or cheer the great and sick performance by all men involved, but especially Williams and Santini.)
HS: "Well, obviously this kind of match DOES favor a monster like Brian Williams. However, it was not an easy night for him and Santini and Christianson both came close to taking him out of this match."
(A concerned-looking Louise steps into the Chamber and helps Santini out. Both he and Williams refuse the help of the officials, much less the EMTs with their stretchers. The referee hands Williams the World title belt, but Williams is barely able to hold it.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, this has been Hell On Earth 2004 with what might have been the most violent Hell Bowl in AWA history. Don't forget to tune in to AWA Xplosion this Thursday night to see how all this develops! Herb Summers and Frank Jackson say good night everybody!"
(As we get a close-up of the bloody mask that is the AWA World Champion's face the copyright logo appears and the screen fades to black.)
