(The scene opens to a vignette portraying the cage as it ominously hangs above the ring in the MCI Centre in Washington. Thousands upon Thousands of fans cheer wildly, in anticipation of the tournament and other match ups. An ancient sounding regal type of music takes over the screen and we fade into black.)
(A new scene opens, show casing Shock’s King of the Kage competitors.
"8 men….one cage…and one man’s opportunity to live the dream of facing the World Champion at AWA Classic
This time the same scene fades in show casing the Xplosion side of the tourney.
"All men yearn for the opportunity, only some are given it….who will it be?"
(The next scene fades in showing, the likes of Drake Hyde, Black Dragon, The Legendary Low, and Sabotage.)
(We then fade into the announcer’s table and see Larry Porter and Frank Jackson as they shuffle papers, and then look up in unison flashing huge smiles.)
LP: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we are coming to you LIVE from the
SOLD OUT MCI Centre in beautiful and patriotic Washington D.C., the heart of
the land of the free and the home of the brave."
FJ: "God bless Chipper Jones."
LP: "Not the Braves, you ass... anyway, I want
to thank you again tonight, fans, for celebrating your Independence Day with
us here at AWA, and all of us from the American Wrestling Alliance wish you
a safe and happy 4th."
FJ: "You know, Larry, we have Canadian fans too, and fans from all over the
world."
LP: (under his breath)"I'm just reading the cue-card, Frank."
FJ: "We have
cue-cards!?!"
LP: "Well, that certainly explains a lot."
FJ: "Enough jibber-jabber, Larry.
You talk to much. It looks like I'm going have to carry us through yet ANOTHER
Pay-Per-View."
LP: "That's right Frank... hey... dammit, would you please just
stick to your lines!"
FJ: "Hey, this is LIVE, I can say what I want!"
LP: "Just shut up and call out first match!"
FJ: "And what IS next?"
LP: "Well, folks... and Frank... we have something special for you tonight
to start off the show. Right off the bat we're starting with a title match,
as 'Superstar' Colin Baird defends his Hardcore Championship against former
AWA World Champ, Zeal."
FJ: "WOW! That does sound delicious... a title match already, and my favorite
one of all, the Hardcore title!"
LP: "A title which can ONLY be seen on the
superior brand, Xplosion."
FJ: "I thought the Lay's potato chips was the superior brand?"
LP: "What are you talking about?"
FJ: "In taste tests across the country, nine out of ten consumers chose Lay's
brand potato chips as the better brand compared to the competition."
LP: "The cards, Frank, the cards." (The camera focuses in on Frank, who is
munching a small bag of Lay's and reading the label on the back.)
FJ: "Oh... yeah. Sorry. Where were we?"
LP: "The hardcore title."
FJ: "And in our first match of the evening... just another of example of how
Xplosion delivers again and again, each and every show."
LP: "You're right,
Frank."
FJ: "I know..."
LP: "Enough jibber-jabber."
FJ: "Oh." (As if on cue, the lights in the MCI Centre suddenly cease and after
a few seconds of silence, illuminating strobe lights pulsate on the entrance
ramp, revealing the former World Champion, Zeal, kneeling down at the entranceway.
The fans immediatly hit their feet, choraled by 'Expiry Dates' by Joydrop, as
Zeal pops up to his feet and begins making his way down the entrance ramp. The
P.A. shifts over to Frank and Larry as the camera follows Zeal down to the ring,
as he jubilates in the fans' attention.)
FJ: "I never did like this guy."
LP: "You don't even like your own mother."
FJ: "Yeah, but I like yours... How you doin' Misses P.?"
LP: "That's... disturbing."
FJ: "Well, I mean, what's to like about him... he comes in at an average six
feet, two hundred eleven pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He likes long
walks on the beach and lying in the cool, gentle ocean breeze."
LP: "..."
FJ: "And what is that... THING... he is wearing?"
LP: "His bowler?"
FJ: "His whosawhat? And WHAT is with those sunglasses... we're in doors for
crying out loud!"
LP: "Well, gee, Frank, it's not like he's ever won a World Championship or
anything."
FJ: "Actually, he has... somehow."
LP: "Nevermind, Frank, nevermind." (By now, Zeal has taken his place in the
ring and he glares up the entranceway awaiting his opponent. Joe Perry's recognizable
guitar rhiffs hit and soon Nelly's '#1' beats over the P.A. as the fans again
are on their feet. Colin Baird emerges from the back, dancing out onstage, with
his AWA Hardcore Championship drapped over his right shoulder. The fans enjoy
his attention as he slowly makes his way down the entranceway, before finally
climbing into the ring. Almost instantly, Baird and Zeal begin jawing and before
Baird's entrance is even complete, the two are standing toe to toe. In fact,
Baird's pyro goes off, and he doesn't even notice.)
FJ: "Look, see how Zeal has to look up to Colin Baird. He's six feet, five
inches and over two hundred fifty pounds, at least he has SOMETHING going for
him."
LP: "You'd think for a guy that's been with this company for so long, you'd
learn that size doesn't matter."
FJ: "That's not what Misses P. said."
LP: "Fish... Zeal hell, even Low and Dark Warrior, whom you love so much,
... none of them were exceptionally large champions."
FJ: "What's your point?" (It doesn't take long for Baird and Zeal to start
going at it, with Zeal connecting with a hard right to the side of Baird's head.
Baird instantly and instincively follows with a right of his own, sending his
title belt off his shoulder and right into the referee's hands, who quickly
disposes of it, sliding it under the ropes to a ring aide. The fans erupt as
Zeal and Baird exchange several rights, blow for blow, each one with more force
than the other. The smaller Zeal soon gets the upper hand however, by following
one of his rights with a quick left jab, then a right, then another left, and
finally, finishing up with a short running forearm smash that sends Baird to
the mat.)
LP: "What a huge forearm by Zeal! And he's quickly on the assault."
FJ: "Geesh, don't have a heart attack Larry. It was just a forearm smash."
(Zeal quickly unloads a few stomps onto Baird, he rolls free towards the ropes.
He doesn't make it far, as Zeal quickly falls onto Colin Baird's mid-section
with his knee.)
LP: "Oooh, wicked knee drop by Zeal."
FJ: "What? This is a friggan hardcore match and you're getting all ga-ga over
a knee drop. Come one guys, bring some chairs, some brass knucks, the Hardcore
Belt, a ping pong paddle, ANYTHING!" (Zeal pulls Colin Baird up by his head,
only to send him right back down to the mat by kicking out his legs and cathing
him in a variation of a reverse DDT.)
LP: "ZDT! ZDT! Colin Baird is out!"
FJ: "BOOOOOOOOORING!" (Zeal goes for a
quick cover and Baird easily kicks out before two. Zeal rolls to his feet as
the crowd begins to get behind him. Feuled by the fans, he begins stalking Baird,
gesturing for him to hurry and get up, and just as Baird does, Zeal grabs him
around the head, hooking Baird's right arm, and going for a neckbreaker type
maneuver.)
LP: "Here comes Rhapsody!"
FJ: "And there it goes..." (However, Colin Baird managed to hook his free arm
around the ropes, forcing Zeal to go flying off of him. As Zeal falls away,
Baird quickly reaches out for Zeal and, using Zeal's own misplaced momentum
in a last ditch effort, counters with a face driver of his own.)
LP: "What a counter... that just put a stop to any momemtum Zeal had. Both
men are down!"
FJ: "Let me know when this Hardcore match actually gets hardcore."
LP: "Well, right abooooooooooooooooooout... now."
FJ: "Wha...?" (Baird has climbed to one knee and is in the action of rolling
out of the ring, searching the outside for an acceptable weapon. He finds a
satisfactory foreign object in his own Hardcore title belt, and quickly slides
back into the ring. Zeal, in the meantime, has climbed to his feet, just in
time to duck the full force of the charging Colin Baird. Upon catching nothing
but air, Baird stops in his tracks and wheels around, only to be met with the
outstretched arm of Zeal and his hand upon Baird's jaw.)
LP: "THE RIOT ACT! THAT'S THE RIOT ACT!"
FJ: "Oh, that's gotta be HORRIBLE
hygeine." (The fans go nuts as Zeal has the mandible claw type submission locked
in onto Baird. Colin, however, instantly back peddles into the ropes.)
FJ: "And he's got nowhere to go."
LP: "You're ri... wait a minute!" (As Colin Baird hits the ropes, he springs
off of them and the force causes Zeal to release the hold and take a couple
of steps back. Zeal, though a bit surprised, quickly lunges back at Baird, only
to be met unsuspectedly in the face by Baird's Hardcore Title belt which he
never released. Instantly, Zeal's forehead busts open and blood flows down his
face as he stumbles backward, in a daze, before falling facefirst onto the mat
ala Ric Flair.)
FJ: "HAHA, ZEAL JUST GOT DECKED WITH THE HARDCORE TITLE BELT! HE DIDN'T SEE
THAT ONE COMING!"
LP: "I believe Zeal is down for the count as he exhumes a pool of crimson."
FJ: "Yeah, and he's bleeding pretty good too!"
LP: "Very poetic, Frank." (Baird
immediatly grabs his aching jaw after dropping the Hardcore title, perhaps missing
a chance to cover Zeal. Less than an instant later, he hooks Zeal's legs as
the crowd counts aloud with the referee... ONE!... TWO!... THRE..., NO, KICKOUT!)
LP: "Oh, we were an instant away from having a winner."
FJ: "Dammit... Zeal,
STAY DOWN!" (Baird quickly covers again, taking no time to argue with the referee,
but Zeal is able to kick out on two sooner this time. Baird slaps the mat in
frustration and then climbs to his feet. He quickly goes on the assault and
locks Zeal in a sharpshooter.)
FJ: "Oh, come on, now this match is going to
take even LONGER. Doesn't that fool know there are no submissions in a hardcore
match?"
LP: "You're the fool, Frank. He's obviously trying to wear Zeal down
while also cutting off the oxygen to his head, which should be extremely effective
with all the blood loss Zeal is suffering from." (After holding in the submission
for a few moments, and with Zeal struggling, but unable to reach the ropes to
perhaps gain some leverage, Baird feels he has sufficiently drained Zeal of
his energy and oxygen and releases the Sharpshooter. As soon as he does, however,
Zeal immediatly hooks one of Baird's legs, catching him completly off gaurd,
and rolls him foward with a drop toe hold with his arms instead of his 'toes'.
Baird, in his surprise, is unable to get his arms up and connects face first
with the mat, dazing him somewhat.)
LP: "Whoa, I didn't expect that at all...
but then again, Zeal is well known for his amazing and unexpected counters."
FJ: "The chair... GIVE HIM THE CHAIR!" (Zeal quickly goes to work on the stunned
Baird, having caught his second wind and looking practically rejuvenated. He
picks Baird up and then locks him up, but Baird blocks with his forearms. Zeal
takes advantage of Baird's unguarded stomach and connects with a hard kick,
doubling the Texan over. He then rolls around behind him and locks in a bulldog,
guiding Baird to the nearest turnbuckle, which Zeal steps up to, and then over,
forcing Colin's head into the turnbuckle, and then backward, onto the mat, out
cold.)
LP: "WHAT A MOVE... I believe that's the Chaotic Catastrophe!"
FJ: "Nice
name... if Zeal wins the belt, that'll be catastrophic." (While on the outside
ring apron, Zeal begins to hear the crowd calling for some more hardcore action.
He adheres to their pleas and hops down from the apron, in search of a weapon.
He spots his target in the chair that the bell-ringer is seated in. By this
point, Zeal's bleeding has eased up and, for the most part, has managed to stay
clear of his eyes. He instructs the ring-timer to vacate his seat and then grabs
the chair, sliding it into the ring and then following. Baird is up to one knee,
still looking out of it.)
FJ: "Well, at least we get to see some more REAL action."
LP: "Zeal's looking ot even teh score now." (The crowd erupts as Zeal begins
stalking Baird with the chair, waiting patiently for him to climb to his feet.
Baird does, but soon, in a dazed stupor, stumbles in the opposite direction,
like a drunk. Zeal has lost his patience and goes up to Baird, grabbing him
around the shoulder and wheeling him around. Zeal lifts the chair high into
the air, bringing it down with full force, only to stop instantly, less than
two inches away from the referee's face.)
LP: "Baird was playing possum and
he moved just at the last moment. BUt what the hell is the referee doing in
the way? He could have been taken out of this match... permanently!"
FJ: "What
would have been so wrong with that?" (Baird, almost as shocked as Zeal, doesn't
take long to snap out of it, and kicks Zeal in the gut. Baird then yanks the
chair right out of Zeal's hand and he is now the one lifting hte chair high
over his head.)
LP: "OH, I can't watch..."
FJ: "THAT'S RIGHT... NAIL HIS ASS
WITH THE CHAIR!" (THWACK! And in an instant, the crowd is stunned silent as
Zeal is on his back in the middle of the ring. Baird, a little shocked himself,
quickly goes for the cover as the crowd, a little confused, counts with the
referee. ONE!... TWO... THREE!)
LP: "NO! ZEAL KICKED OUT AT THE LAST POSSIBLE
MOMENT! THE CROWD IS IN AN UPROAR! WHAT A MATCH!"
FJ: "How in the world?" (Baird
is completely stunned, and glares over at the referee in disbelief. He doesn't
notice Zeal climb to his feet until he's already being kicked in the gut as
the fans suddenly shout C!... and when Zeal wraps his arms around Baird's head
they shout M!...)
LP: "HERE IT COMES!" (But before they can shout D!, Baird
shoves Zeal off of him and into the ropes. On the rebound, Baird nails Zeal
in the stomach with a hard knee that doubles him over. In one, fluid motion,
Baird lifts Zeal up across his body, vertically, and then drops him headfirst
onto the chair.)
FJ: "TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER ONTO THE CHAIR! DID YOU SEE THAT?!?
DID YOU SEE THAT!?! THAT WAS HARDCORE!"
LP: "YES, I SAW IT... WHAT A MOVE! AND
THESE FANS SAW IT TOO! THEY'RE GOING NUTS!" (The fans pick up an uproarious
HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! chant as Colin Baird covers Zeal and picks
up the ONE! TWO! THREE! The referee raises Colin's arm in victory and hands
him his Hardcore title.)
LP: "What a hard fought and well deserved win for the
Superstar Colin Baird. If this is a sign of things to come, this kid will have
a bright future in the AWA. But with such an intense match already, will he
have enough left in the tank to take on a red-hot Dark Warrior later on tonight?"
FJ: "Who cares... that was FRIGGAN HARDCORE!" (In a great show of respect, Colin
Baird helps Zeal up to his feet. Zeal then raises Colin's arm high as the fans
are completely ecstatic and flash bulbs ignite the entire MCI Centre. After
a few moments, both men head to the back, Zeal first, followed shortly by Colin
Baird, who takes the time to pose with his belt a few more times for the fans.)
LP: "What an intense match up, and WHAT A WAY TO START OFF KING OF THE KAGE!"
FJ: "Like I said before, Larry, matches like that can happen ONLY ON XPLOSION!"
LP: "Well, we're going to tone things down a bit now, in our second consecutive
Xplosion match up. Next we have 'Insanity' Jacob Sanders taking on John Blaze
in a standard match."
FJ: "That Insanity guy... he's nuts... I like that about
him." (The camera quickly pans to the back where we see the exhausted Hardcore
Champion, Colin Baird, making his way to his locker room. Suddenly, 'Insanity'
Sanders comes into the picture and accidentally bumps into an unsuspecting Colin
Baird. Colin looks a little confused at first, but then grows angry as Sanders
snarls at him.) Baird: "Hey... watch it! Freak." (Sanders just glares at Baird
until Kristina Rennie shows up behind him and motions for him to follow. The
two stare each other down once more before Sanders storms off.)
LP: "Well, what
in the world was that all about."
FJ: "I told you, that Sanders is a loose cannon."
LP: "Speak of the devil..." (Suddenly, 'Insane in the Membrane' hits as the
crowd rains down a loud chorus of boo's. Kristina Rennie and 'Insanity' Jacob
Sanders emerge from the back, not with his usual pyrotechnics and flash. Very
business-like, the two make their way to the ring where Rennie calls for a microphone.)
Rennie: "Ladies and gentlemen... my client has informed me that he would like
everyone of you ingrates to know that what he is going to do to John Blaze tonight
is only a small drop in the bucket as to what he's prepared to do to Bryan Pe...
excuse me, RIVAL, when and if they get a chance to meet up. This goes for anyone
on the Xplosion roster who dares to stand in his way. Rival, I know you're back
there... you had best steer clear of my client, Jacob Sanders, tonight. Your
life may depend on it. That said, bring out that talent less loser John Blaze!"
FJ: "She is mean Larry….I like it
LP: Oh just go to sleep.
(Victory by Puff daddy hit the PA system and John Blaze hit the stage not showing off much at all as he makes his way down to the ring for his match*
LP: John Blaze always seems very straight forward and get to business and its no different here tonight.
*A dull blue glow exhumes the arena as children's laughing can be heard. Suddenly, a blood curdling scream is heard and the cool rhythms of Cypress Hill's anthem to mayhem 'Insane in the Membrane' hit the P.A. 'Insanity' slowly emerges from the back, corralled by blue and white strobe lights. 'Insanity' doesn't make a sound, or even change his drawn out expression and briskly makes his way to the ring without acknowledging the cheers or boos from the crowd. He climbs to any turnbuckle and sits down on the second rope and lowers his head, not even acknowledging his opponent until the referee orders him to take the center of the ring.*
FJ:...I don’t know, But there is something about this guy that just freaks me out...
LP: There is clearly a few screws loose with this guy.
*As the bell rings Blaze and Insanity begin to approach one another but Blaze was caught but a vicious shot to the throat as he jaw jacked causing him to stumble back a bit but when he turned to return the favor Insanity dropped him with a clothesline which almost turned the man inside out.*
FJ: WHOA! I am liking this Insanity guy already!
LP: I don’t know about all that Frank but he means business tonight none the less.
*Pulling Blaze up to his feet Insanity sent him back to a knee with a clubbing forearm shot to the back of the head followed by another and finally a third driving Blaze to the back his back arched. Blaze on his back on the mat Insanity placed the heel of his foot on the side of the mans face and drove his foot down hard sending blaze rolling about the ring holding his face.*
LP:Oh come on! Thats uncalled for!
*Blaze attempted to mount a fight of some kind as he delivered three stiff right hands into the mid section of Insanity and rose. Taking off toward the ropes Blaze felt good about himself now but quickly saw his world crumble as Insanity sidestepped his clothesline and lifted blaze seconds before slamming him down in a hard powerslam and cover getting a long two count before blaze kicked out. Insanity raised to kneel and when Blaze also began to rise dropped him with a hard forearm to the face. As Blaze hit the mat once more and began to lift himself up Insanity was risen to his feet and waiting for the prone dazed man. Once blaze was up to his feet Insanity locked him up into a suplex and lifted but blaze twisted and turned landing on his feet behind Insanity and sent a forearm into the small of the back. With Insanity temporarily stunned Blaze reached up and landed a hard reverse DDT driving Insanity's head into the mat. Insanity laying flat on the mat Blaze slowly pulled the man to his feet rather then attempt the pin*
FJ: What is he doing?!
LP: He is attempting to end this now.
*Indeed he was right as Blaze stuffed Insanity face down between his legs attempting the Blazer but Insanity back dropped Blaze hard to the mat and turned his upper body trembling. When Blaze raised to his feet Insanity once more attempted a suplex but this time connected*
LP:A touch of Insanity!!
FJ: ....ONE....TWO....THREE! Insanity wins..
Ring Announcer: The following match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, he is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing in at 320 pounds- ('Fat by Weird Al Yankovic hits the PA, the crowd instantly start cheering.) Mr. Jack Happy!!!
(Yellow evil smiley faces light from the top of the entrance ramp down to the ring apron (arena lights dim). Yellow pyros go off as Mr. Happy emerges, high fiving the fans as his blubber slaps together giving him a one-man standing ovation. Once he rolls under the bottom rope and into the ring, he stops to look at his opponent...and then laugh at them...before acknowledging the crowd one final time.)
FJ: This man is just ridiculous, plain and simple.
LP: Yeah, but the fans sure love him.
Ring Announcer: And his opponent, from Boulder, Colorado, weighing in at 230 lbs-Jason Byrd!!!
(The lights in the arena go completely out, all except for a small strobe on the entrance of the stage. The intro to Ataxia's version of "Mirror in the Bathroom" hits on the PA system as Jason Byrd appears walking out of the entrance and onto the stage. The entire arena is then completely flashing in strobe light as Jason walks down the ramp, with his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket. Jason Byrd enters the ring and
slides off the jacket. He drops the jacket to the outside of the ring and sits in his corner until the match is about to begin.)
(Happy suddenly charges out of nowhere, grabbing Byrd's head, and hitting a facecrusher into the mat, before Byrd can react. Byrd quickly ‘nips up', charging forward with a clothesline, which the big man ducks. Byrd stops quickly only to meet a hard chest chop from Jack Happy.)
FJ: CHRIST! You could have heard that chop from here to Africa!
LP: What?! What are you talking about?
FJ: Shaddup and watch the match…
( Happy continues hitting Byrd with those hard chest chops which finally send Byrd to the canvas. Happy picks up Byrd by the hair and drops him with a quick bodyslam. Happy gets a wide grin across his face. He starts looking at the ropes, bounces off, and then the fat man starts to roll.)
LP: ROLLING BLUBBER!!
FJ: Disgusting…
( Happy goes for Rolling Blubber, only to have Byrd put his knee's into his back. Happy's in a lot of pain. Byrd quickly gets to his feet and gets into a 'stalking position. Happy slowly gets to his feet, only to get caught with a punch to the face which sends him stumbling to the ropes. Byrd slowly walks over and gives Happy a hard kick to the gut. Byrd goes to whip Happy, but Happy doesn't budge. Byrd tries again, but Happy still doesn't budge. Byrd tries a third time, only to get a headbutt from Happy. Happy grabs Byrd and tosses him into the turnbuckle. Happy charges up and Avalanches Byrd in the corner. Byrd slumps down. Happy scoops up Byrd and rests him on his shoulder. Happy runs forward and drops Byrd down hard with a strong powerslam. Happy stands up for a quick second, only to give Byrd a leg drop a second later.)
LP: Happy is just dominating.
LP: Who scheduled this match? This is unfair. That idiot outweighs Byrd by one hundred pounds!
(Happy starts dragging Byrd's lifeless body into the corner. Happy signals that he's going to the top. If he hits this it's over! Happy is going for the BELLYBOMB!! OH! Byrd rolls out of the way at the last minute. Happy is down and he looks hurt. Byrd slowly stumbles to his feet. He's using the ropes to get back up. Byrd suddenly leaps onto the turnbuckle and waits. Happy slowly gets up and turns around only for Byrd to connect with a Whisper in the Wind. Byrd goes for the cover. One, two, thr…no, Happy kicks out. Byrd looks at the referee in disbelief. Byrd gets to his feet and once again gets into the 'stalking position. Happy gets to his feet. Byrd kicks Happy in the gut and signals for a Twist of Fate. Byrd goes for it, but Happy reverses it into a Atomic drop. Byrd starts holding his ass, then he turns around to eat a clothesline. Happy pulls Byrd to his feet, but then Byrd catches Happy unprotected with a shot to the stomach, before stepping back slightly, snapping a punch to Happy's face, followed almost instantly with a punch to Happy's stomach, the body punch not even connected fully before Byrd jumps into the air, connecting with a dropkick, and using Happy's face to spin his backwards, Byrd landing on his hands and knees, as Happy staggers backward, into the ropes. Byrd launches himself from his hands and knees up, and forward, with a flying clothesline. Happy ducks under the clothesline and attempts to clothesline Byrd over, but Byrd then ducks that clothesline and dumps Happy over the top rope. Byrd turns around, vaulting over the top rope, to crash onto the sitting-up Happy, before stepping back, smiling down at him arrogantly. After a moment, Byrd turns around, laughing at the booing fans, as their ‘favorite' in this match has been taken down.]]
LP: Byrd taking a few moments to gloat. This is just. . . wrong, somehow.
FJ: Byrd's got this match in hand. He's got room to gloat.
LP: Oh? Looks like you spoke too soon, Frank!
(Behind Byrd, suddenly, Happynips up, much to the cheers and approval of the fans in attendance, catching Byrd before he can turn with a stiff chest chop to the back, causing Byrd to stagger forward, landing against the guardrail chest-first. Happy slides into the ring, it appears, to stop the count. Byrd gets to his feet and slowly climbs back into the ring. Happy starts to walk over to Byrd, but Byrd pops up and drills Happy with a superkick, then goes for a pin. The referee tells Byrd that Jack Happy's head is under the ropes, Byrd pulling Happy away from the ropes, into the center of the ring, and going for a pin again. 1 . . . 2 . . . kickout. The kickout, however, has no real force behind it, visibly a desperation move. Byrd shakes his head, moving back, again, once more waiting for Happy to get to his feet, in the same ‘stalking' position. Happy gets to his knees, then stands, only to stagger backward, into the ropes, straightening enough for Byrd to let fly with the another superkick, Happy drops, holding the top rope, Byrd misses the superkick, Happy releases the top rope, the rope snapping up into a ‘low blow'. Byrd is in a lot of pain hanging there on those ropes..]]
FJ: What the-?! I think I heard a collective groan from every man in the MCI Center tonight!!
LP: That is the worst thing that could ever happen!
(Byrd is just laying on the ropes, as Happy walks over to him, picks him up off of the ropes and drops him with a mean powerbomb. Suddenly Jack Happy locks on his submission finisher in the center of the ring. Byrd is struggling to get away, but the pain is just too much. He's tapping out, Jason Byrd it tapping out!! It's over!!
Ring Announcer: The winner of this match, as a result of a submission, MR JACK HAPPY!!! (The crowd erupts as 'Fat plays over the PA again.]]
LP: Happy did it! He beat Byrd!
FJ: WHAT?! He cheated! Someone get out here and make this referee do his damned job!
LP: He was there when Byrd tapped out. He did his job, Frank. You're just mad that Byrd didn't win.
FJ: "God I hate him."
LP: "The return of legendary Superstar Jack Happy was a successful one ladies and gentlemen."
FJ: "Unfortunately"
LP: "Alright the first shock match of the evening the tag team title match is on the way."
FJ: "Have fun listening to Summers babble, although hes still better than you are Porter"
HS: "Up next we have Eternal Undying defending their Tag Team Titles against Hells Hazards in a Hardcore match." MK: "This match is going to be bloody and violent. My favorite kind of match." (Blue flames light the sides of the entrance way as Amy Lee's voice echoes eerily through the arena. Suddenly, static and feedback cut it off and the heavy metal riff kicks up. Phoenix and Vampire walk out from the back with Whisper in between them. The trio walks to the ring, Vampire staring ahead with dead eyes, Whisper ignoring the jeering crowd, and Phoenix degrading the fans in the front rows. As they reach the ring, Phoenix slides in as Vampire steps over the top rope.)
HS: "Eternal Undying is ready for action tonight." MK: "Eternal Undying is always ready...they need no practice for their matches." (Shinedown's "Fly From the Inside" begins playing over the PA as a vision of "The Hellraiser" Steve Holly with the Earth on his back is played on the screen. As the fourth entrance riff to the song is played, Holly flexes his muscles and the Earth bursts into flames and in those flames is the quote "Welcome to My World" as Pyro's erupt around the stage. Holly and Cynder walk out through the explosion. Both men then walk down the ramp way focusing on EUD. They slide into the ring as the bell rings.)
HS: "This match is underway...this is going to be great." (All four men stand face to face staring one another down, they stand there watching to see who will make the first move. The crowd goes silent until Hells Hazards start the match off with rights and lefts to EUD.EUD battle backs with punches of their own but the Hazards still have the advantage on them. Cynder grabs Vampire and throws him over the top rope and follows him outside. Holly and Phoenix battle it out until Holly gets the advantage and goes behind Phoenix and quickly hits a high angle german suplex on Phoenix. Cynder and Vampire battle it out on the outside. Vampire takes Cynder and whips him into the steel steps. Cynder screams in pain while holding his back as Vampire stalks the fallen Cynder.)
HS: "This match is already out of control..." MK: "Matches are only good if they get out of control." (Meanwhile in the ring Holly has Phoenix backed up in a corner. Holly pulls his arm back and looks for a clothesline but Phoenix ducks under it and goes behind Holly as he crashes his arm into the turnbuckle. Holly starts shaking off the pain on his arm as he turns around Phoenix locks in a belly to belly suplex. He launches Holly almost halfway across the ring. Back on the outside the ref is trying to get Cynder and Vampire back to their corners but they just ignore the ref and continue to battle on. Cynder nails a toe kick to Vampire in the gut and then takes him and slams his face into the apron. Vampire shakes it off but Cynder doesn't stop with the assault. Cynder picks Vampire onto his shoulders and rams him face first into the turnbuckle. Vampire falls to the mat busted open.)
HS: "Vampire is busted open from getting his head rammed into the turnbuckle." MK: "Finally some bloodshed!" (Back in the ring Phoenix has Holly down on the mat locked in a arm lock. The ref gets back into the ring so he can call the submit. The ref yells at Holly to see if he quits but Holly shouts back "HELL NO!" and with that Holly starts regaining his strength. He starts getting to his feet and out of nowhere he hits a one arm sidewalk slam.)
HS: "Holly just out of nowhere hit a one arm side walk slam." MK: "That was amazing...well not really." (Holly hooks the leg and goes for the pin. But out of nowhere Vampire hits a flipping leg drop onto Holly's head to break up the pin.)
HS: "Where did Vampire come from? I thought he was fighting Cynder? (Cynder is laid out on the mats after getting his face slammed into the ring post by Vampire who was playing possum after getting rammed into the post. Holly is down on the mat hurt badly as Phoenix and Vampire decided to get a little hardcore. Vampire and Phoenix both get out of the ring on opposite sides. Vampire pulls out a ladder as Phoenix pulls out a chair and then a table. Both men put the hardcore goodies into the ring with them following behind. Phoenix grabs the chair and smacks the fallen Holly a couple of times on the ribs. Phoenix then tells Vampire to get ready for Ending the Cycle. Vampire sets the ladder up as Phoenix is setting up a table. Vampire climbs to the top of the ladder as Phoenix sets Holly up for a powerbomb in front of the table and ladder. Vampire jumps off just as Holly is up in the air...but out of nowhere Holly reverses the move into a hip toss and him and Vampire go crashing to the ground. Vampire goes through the table as Holly hits the ring. Phoenix turns around to look at the aftermath but he sees that Vampire is out cold instead of Holly. Phoenix sees the fallen Holly on the ground but before he can get to him the once fallen Cynder is back to his feet and in the ring. Cynder jumps Phoenix from behind with rights and lefts. Cynder whips Phoenix to the ropes as the ref is clearing out the table on the other side (left side, not behind. Phoenix comes back off the ropes and cynder runs towards him a little bit and hits a hard clothesline to hell. Cynder drops to the ground and quickly goes for the pin on the fallen Phoenix.1...2..NO Phoenix kicked out before the 3.)
HS: "Man that was so close for the Hazards." MK: "This match is really intense." (Cynder gets up frustrated that he didn't get the win. Phoenix makes it back to his feet as Cynder goes back on the attack. Phoenix sees this and beats Cynder to the punch well more like the eye poke. Cynder starts rubbing his eyes in pain as Phoenix sets him up for Fall From Grace. Phoenix connects with the move as both men hit the ground. All four men lie motionless until Holly starts moving trying to get to his feet. He finally does...he then walks over and grabs the steel chair and waits for one of his foes to get to their feet. Vampire starts staggering to his feet to only be met by a steel chair shot to the head. The shot opening up Vampire's head even more then what the post did.Holly smiles evilly as Phoenix starts getting to his feet. Before he can stand up completely Holly nails him with a chair shot, busting him wide open.)
HS: "This match is nothing but a blood bath and Holly is loving it." MK: "Hells Hazards could win it here." (Holly drops the chair and quickly goes for a cover on Phoenix. ONE...TWO...THRE...NO Phoenix kicks out.)
HS: "Somehow someway Phoenix kicked out." MK: "This is unbelievable. This match will go down in history." (Holly gets up and can't believe what just happened. Phoenix starts staggering back to his feet as so does Cynder and Vampire. All four men are on their feet and ready to fight. Cynder grabs Vampire and throws him out of the ring. Holly grabs Phoenix and sets him up for Raisin' Hell. He lifts Phoenix up for the press but Phoenix slides out of Holly's grip and comes behind Holly and hits a strong reverse DDT on Holly. Phoenix gets to his feet and grabs the chair as Cynder comes after him. Cynder tries grabbing Phoenix so he can lock him in for something but Phoenix nails Cynder with a chair shot busting him wide open. Phoenix drops the chair and goes for the pin on Cynder but he only gets a 2.Phoenix grabs the chair as he stands up again.)
HS: "Now Cynder and EUD are busted up." MK: "This match is really violent and gory." (Holly gets to his feet and Phoenix takes a swing at him with the chair but Holly ducks and kicks him in the gut. He then sets him up for Raisin' Hell again and hits the move quickly before Phoenix tried escaping. Holly goes for the pin. ONE...TWO...THRE...NO Phoenix refuse to lose.)
HS: "Once again Phoenix kicks out after a impact move." MK: "This guy is truly Perfection." (Holly finally loses it and helps Phoenix to his feet but what Holly doesn't know is that Vampire is behind him with a trash can lid. Holly sets Phoenix for a powerbomb but before he can lift Phoenix up he gets nailed in the back by Vampire with the trash can lid. Holly falls to the ground facing up. Vampire smiles evilly and does another flipping leg drop but before he lands on Holly he puts the trash can underneath his legs. Holly gets smacked in the face with the trash can lid and is now busted wide open as well.)
HS: "All four men are now busted open. This match is crazy...we need to stop it before it gets to crazy." MK: "HELL NO! This match is great. Let it continue..." (Vampire goes for the cover but he only gets a two count.Vampire looks down at Holly and wonders what it takes to put him away. As Vampire is getting to his feet Cynder is back up and hits a clothesline to the back of Vampire's head. Phoenix sees this and tries taking out Cynder but gets kicked in the gut. He then hits The InCynderator without throwing Phoenix up because he couldn't. Cynder goes for the pin as Holly is back to his feet.Holly climbs on top of Cynder to add more weight on the pin as the ref counts. ONE...TWO...THREE! The Hell Hazards win the Tag Team Titles. Both of them lie on the ground busted open and eveything. The ref walks over and hands them the tag team titles.)
HS: "That was one amazing match up." MK: "That match is going in the history books."
(A commercial for the complete box set of KOTK DVD’s is advertised before we go back to the ring.)
HS: Wrestling fans, up next we will have a King Of The Kage first round match between Draven Shadows and the current AWA TV Champion, The Chaotic Thunder. MK: Now, everybody should be aware that the TV title is NOT on the line in this match. However, the winner of this match will go on to face either Andy Peek or Haunt in the semi-finals.
HS: And with that, let's take you to ringside. ("Man That You Fear" begins to play as the fans start booing. Draven >Shadows comes out from the back and gives an evil look to a number of fans >at ringside. Draven gets into the ring and waits for his opponent.)
HS: Draven certainly has a good chance of impressing AWA officials tonight. He has a chance to beat the current TV Champion AND to win a shot >at the >AWA World Champion by winning this tournament. ('Stunt 101' by G-Unit begins to play and fans somewhat cheer as the current AWA TV Champion comes out from the back and down the aisle. Thunder slides into the ring and hands his belt to the referee, who then signals for the bell to ring. Draven and Thunder lock up and the far bigger and heavier Draven gains a quick advantage. He forces Thunder into the corner and then hits >him > with a knife edge chop. The crowd goes 'Woooo' before Draven grabsThunder and smiply hurls him into the middle of the ring.) MK: Draven is using his considerable size advantage to overpower Thunder, no midget himself. (Thunder gets up to his knees and looks upset. He charges Draven, but Draven sidesteps him and sends him into the corner again. Draven follows up with an attempted corner clothesline, but this time Thunder sidesteps and Draven crashes into the corner. Thunder connects with a series of kicks to Draven's gut and then Irish whips him into the opposite corner. Thunder follows and hits Draven with a running corner clothesline.)
HS: Thunder has taken something out of Draven's own book and used it against him. MK: Well, he isn't the TV Champion for nothing, Herb. (Thunder now uses a hip toss to get Draven out of the corner, then follows this up with a quick arm drag. Draven is back up on his feet quickly, but Thunder stuns him with an inverted atomic drop, followed by a kick to the gut and a DDT to send Draven to the mat. Thunder covers and gets 1..... 2..... >and a kick out.)
HS: They start at a quick pace right from the start. On one hand, both men are certainly trying to end this match quickly to save some energy for later on. But if this match goes longer it might mean the winner has spent too much energy in the first round. (Thunder is now applying a headlock on the grounded Draven Shadows. >Draven however, is quickly able to work his way back up, stunning Thunder with a series of elbows to the ribs. Draven the whips Thunder into the ropes and hits a big boot as he gets close to him. Draven covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out.) MK: You know, Herb, the pace is somewhat quick, but so far they haven't really pressured each other.
HS: Well, these are certainly two strong wrestlers who will hit each other with high impact moves soon enough. (And is if he heard Herb, Draven picks up Thunder, puts his head between his legs, pulls him up and hits a devastating power bomb! Cover gets 1..... 2..... and a close kick out.)
HS: See, this certainly took the wind out of the TV Champion. (Draven Irish whips Thunder again, but this time Thunder holds on to the ropes. Draven runs at him and tries to clothesline him over the top rope, but Thunder ducks and backdrops Draven out over the top rope.) MK: Ouch, that had to hurt. (Thunder now slingshots himself over the top rope and out of the ring, right onto the dizzy Draven, taking him down with a body press. After nailing him with a number of right fists Thunder rolls back into the ring to beat the referee's count.) MK: Smart move by Thunder.
HS: And he certainly made up for the size difference by using his >smaller >frame to fly through the air. (Thunder waits for Draven to get up again and then jumps onto the >second >turnbuckle, then the top turnbuckle and goes for a moonsault out of the >ring!)
HS: Falling Lightning to the outside! MK: And Draven moves! (Indeed Draven sees Thunder performing his high risk maneuver and manages to get out of the way at the last split-second. Thunder crashes down on the concrete floor and also hits one of his legs on the steel railing surrounding the ringside area. He starts clutching his knee and screams in pain.) MS: This might have done some serious long-term damage to the TV >Champion. MK: Ahhh, he should just suck it up like a real Champion. (Draven now has a sort of sick smile on his face and rolls Thunder back into the ring. He tries to pick him up, but Thunder drops down to the mat, holding his leg. Draven tries again, with the same result. He then just covers Thunder, hooking his healthy leg and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out!!)
HS: Thunder is really showing his will to survive right here! (Draven doesn't want to keep playing, though. He is finally able to get Thunder up to his feet again and wraps his arms around Thunder's waist. He >lifts him up and hits the Red Rain Of Pain. Draven covers and gets the >1..... 2..... 3! Draven advances.) MS: Ladies and gentlemen, Draven Shadows just beat the TV Champion >Thunder, who might have suffered an injury here. We will try and update you on his ondition as soon as we get any information, but Draven Shadows advances to face either Andy Peek or Haunt. >MK: Now, everybody should be aware that the TV title is NOT on the line >in this match. However, the winner of this match will go on to face either Andy Peek or Haunt in the semi-finals.
HS: "Back to you Frank."
FJ: "Well here we are at the Intercontinental Title match, where I just know that the Fish going to lose.
LP: "You say that about every match he is, and you’re almost always wrong.
("EMI" by Sex Pistols blares over the PA and we see the emergence of Michael 'Spitfire' Stevens as the crowd boos heavily. He is slowly followed by Black Dragon who doesn't look all too happy about being there. Michael, now on the apron looks around for a minute, and then steps through the ropes. Black Dragon walks to the far side of the ring, as Michael Stevens awaits his opponent.)
FJ: Michael looks ready to take the IC title tonight.
LP: He does look very prepared.
FJ: He even brought Black Dragon with him.
LP: But the Dragon doesn't look happy about being here. Anyway, here comes his opponent and current Intercontinental champion, the Fish. (As if on cue, Entrance: Erie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint and move in a way to make it seem that the whole arena is under water, then "Trendy" by Reel Big Fish hits and the lights flash back on as water shoots from the stage and the Fish dead sprints to the ring, slapping the occasional hand. Fish slides in the ring and quickly removes the belt. He hands it to the referee, who shows it to Michael Stevens.)
LP: Talk about someone who looks ready... The Fish looks ready for the fight of his life.
FJ: Wouldn't take much to give him the fight of his life.
LP: Very interesting... I'll make a note of that for him.
FJ: Larry, focus on the match. (Both men now in the center of the ring. Michael Stevens goes for a lock up, but the Fish uses his agility to duck and go behind Stevens. As Stevens turns around the Fish jumps up and hits a great hurricanrana. Stevens quickly back to his feet charges the fish, who takes him down with a quick hip toss. Stevens looks over at Black Dragon, and ten back to his opponent. Stevens and the Fish are now face to face. Stevens locks up with the Fish this time. Stevens drives his knee into the Fish's stomach. He quickly pick the Fish up and lands a picture perfect front suplex.)
FJ: Looks like Michael 'Spitfire' Stevens has everything at hand.
LP: We'll see, Frank... We'll see... (Michael Stevens quickly stomping his ground opponents left arm. He quickly gets a few more kicks in on the shoulder before trying to pick him up again. The Fish attempts a quick roll up. One... Two... And Michael Stevens quickly kicks out. Both men get up to their feet quickly. The Fish catches Michael 'Spitfire' Stevens off guard with a dropkick. and Spitfire goes straight down, but quickly flies back up. The Fish now locks up with him, and connects with a knee to the stomach. Then, the Fish performs a cradle piledriver on Michael 'Spitfire' Stevens. He goes for a quick cover. One... Tw... Spitfire gets a shoulder up.)
LP: It looks like the Fish is keeping a fast pace.
FJ: And? Michael Stevens can wrestle at a fast pace.
LP: Really?
FJ: I think... I hope so. Losing to the Fish would be embarrassing for him. (The Fish runs and bounces off the ropes, he runs up and hits a climb up enziguri and connects with the back of Michael Stevens head. Fish quickly leaps to the top rope. Fish comes off the top rope with the "Flyin Fish".
LP: "This could be over Frank."
FJ: "No…NO NO….!!!!"
(The ref starts the count. 1.……2.………3! Fish celebrates and Michael Stevens fights to his feet and then exits the ring discouraged.)
(A commercial for the greatest of greats DVD featuring all of the AWA Hall of Famer’s is shown, only 29.95 at your local Wal-Mart)
LP: "Next up is one of the most highly anticipated first round matches in this tournament."
FJ: "Your not kidding, these guys have been tearing each other apart verbally all week, and it’s about to get physical."
(Those ever so familiar guitar riffs by Joe Perry of Aerosmith hit the speakers. "# 1" by Nelly plays as Colin Baird dances onto the stage. Colin dances in his usual enthusiastic manner, wearing his trademark wrestling gear. The people in attendance jump up and down in excitement. The Superstar makes his way down the aisle in usual fashion, slapping hands with the fans and getting them hyped up. Colin steps into the ring begins to whirl around in circles about three times, then gets in his ever so famous pose, flexing for the crowd, as "Superstar" golden fireworks begin to spiral off behind him. Colin's music continues to play as he makes his way over to the ropes and salutes his fans. As this continues in the ring We Go Hard by Cam'ron and DMX blasts over the sound system and the lights heading from backstage toward the ring turn red light. We then see on the video screen, the words Grand Slam Appear, and it goes away to the words I'm back appear. Then it shows a picture of Jeff Christianson, and the first reel of his past great matches, and then in between that we see a list of accomplishments appear, and then we see clips from those championship matches appear. Jeff steps out from the back to a mixed response and makes his way down to the ring where he stares Colin down. The two begin to exchange heated words from across the ring then get right in each other’s face. The two continue to argue then DW takes his hand and pushes Baird in the face. This turns Baird around and he looks around like "He didn’t just do that" with a small smirk on his face. DW is bouncing around and still yelling to at Baird’s back now. Then in one fluent motion Baird spins around and attempts to punch DW in the face but DW is quick enough to move out of the way and hit an arm drag on Baird.)
LP: "I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Jeff Christianson planed that before he came out here."
FJ: "Oh course he did, Jeff Christianson is a Grand Slam Champion and my pick to win this whole thing, the man is a genius."
LP: "Well I don’t know about all that, but that certainly was a nice move."
(Back in the ring both men are circling around looking for an opening. The two men then charge into the middle of the ring and lock up. Baird takes the advantage by locking in a full arm twist and continues applying pressure. He tweaks the arm enough to bring DW to a knee momentarily and while DW is on the mat he flips Baird over with a fireman’s carry and locks in an arm twist of his own. DW rams is shoulder into Baird’s three times before using his whole body to spin around and drop Baird face first in the process. DW quickly mounts Baird from behind and locks in a hammer lock as Baird screams in pain.)
FJ: "As good as Baird is I don’t think he, or anyone else for that matter can purely outwrestle Dark Warrior."
LP: "That may be Frank, Christianson certainly is one of the more technically sound men in the sport today."
FJ: "Who asked you Porter?"
(Baird has managed to regain his footing but is still locked in the obviously painful hammer lock. Baird taps his shoulder twice then spins around and gets in position for a Northern Lights Suplex which he hits and then bridges over. 1 . . . DW is quick to kick out and looks more irritated then hurt after the suplex. DW is actually to his feet first and charges Baird only to be met with a reverse atomic drop. Warrior bounces off of Baird’s knee and into the corner with Baird following close behind. Baird lays in a few elbows then throws to lefts and a right that send DW to a sitting position. Baird backs off at the ref’s command and dances a little for the crowd. As DW rolls out to the floor to catch a breather.)
LP: "Do you know what I heard Baird did all last night?"
FJ: "I don’t know, partied?"
LP: "No, not at all, he actually turned down offers to go party and stayed in his hotel room watching a best of Dark Warrior tape that he bought, that’s commitment Frank."
FJ: "Well no one is doubting that the man wants to win, I’m just doubting that he will."
(DW rolls back into the ring and Baird is dead center waiting for him. The two again exchange some heated words once again then Jeff Christianson tries to land a right on Baird but Baird ducks and the two lock up once again, Baird whips DW into the ropes and leap frogs him on the return. DW hits the ropes and Baird drops to the mat to try and let DW run over him, but DW sees the opening and drops an elbow on the back of Baird’s neck. Baird rolls back to his feet laughing a little then charges at DW with a clothesline but DW falls to his back hook’s Baird’s legs and rolls through locking in a single leg Boston crab.)
LP: "What a move, and this is a submission move, Baird better find the ropes!"
(Baird is laying in the ring screaming and squirming looking for the ropes and then a SU-PER-STAR chant breaks out and the crowd seems to send a burst of energy into Baird who is actually able to muscle out of the move and flip DW over with his legs. To DW’s surprise. DW isn’t phased though and goes right back to work on Baird, he pretends to trip and grabs hold of the ref, the ref trips awkwardly and DW takes the advantage to kick Baird in the nether regions to a course of boos by the fans in DC, DW lifts his hands as if to say, "What I do?". Baird is obviously hurt, but jumps back to his feet with an enraged look in his eyes. He runs at DW thing a clothesline, then another, and another and the crowd is loving every moment of it. Baird is doing a "come on" motion and DW stumbles to his feet and into Baird’s direction only to be met with a powerslam that makes a loud crash as they land, Baird covers and the crowd counts along. 1 . . .2 . . . "ohhh" DW kicks out and Baird is visibly frustrated.)
LP: "Man Baird almost had it there, but what heart shown by Dark Warrior to kick out of that set of moves, I thought that Baird was going to have a 2 for 2 going tonight."
FJ: "Oh no, his night ends with a one and one, guaranteed."
(Baird pulls up DW and hits a chop across the chest, and another and another. Baird has backed DW back into a corner and he tries to whip him across the ring, but DW reverses turning around and ends up whipping Baird back into the same corner he was just in. Christianson executes a chop of his own then another and a knee to the gut then a European upper cut that found it’s mark then two back elbows and then DW looks like he has an idea. He hoists Baird up onto the top turnbuckle and the crowd comes alive as DW climbs to the top with him.)
LP: "This is so dangerous, these men want to get into that Kage tonight more then anything."
FJ: "And Jeff is going to be one step closer after this move."
(Both men are now standing on the top turnbuckle and DW has Baird set up for a superplex. DW starts to lift, but only one of Baird’s legs gets off the turnbuckle pad and it looks like DW might loose his balance, then Baird lifts up DW and throws him off the top rope like a front suplex, DW lands on his stomach near the ropes and starts to move in pain as Baird signals to the crowd that he is going to drop a leg on DW. He jumps and goes for the leg drop but Christianson is able to roll out of the way and force Baird to land butt first on the mat, Baird lays back in pain and rests against the bottom turnbuckle as DW lays on his stomach near by. )
LP: "Whoa, these guys are leaving it all in the ring tonight, lets hope they have some next for the next round!"
FJ: "Dark Warrior won’t disappoint."
(Both men lay in their previously described positions and the ref begins the standing 10 count. 1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . 4 . . . 5 . . . 6 the first signs of motion in both men 7 . . . 8 . . . 9 both men reach their feet and Baird locks in a head lock on DW. DW is quick to counter by hitting two elbows to Baird’s midsection then he picks up Baird and hits a shin breaker that causes Baird to wince in pain. He hits another shin breaker then lifts up to go for a third and Baird back flips behind DW. Baird lands on his feat and hits a back breaker on DW, then another and he goes for another but this time DW back flips out grabs Baird’s head and lands a diving reverse DDT and covers 1 . . . 2 . . . Baird kicks out and climbs back to his feet, but DW keeps on the offensive with clubbing forearms to the back. DW hits a snap suplex and Baird quickly rolls to the floor to avoid defeat and DW stays behind.)
LP: "Quick thinking by Baird there to get out of the ring."
(Baird is walking around outside the ring visibly shaken and DW is in the ring waiting patiently. Baird rolls back in only to roll out again and break the count. This looks like it pissed off Jeff Christianson who decides to go to the floor after Baird. Baird doesn’t see DW behind him and DW takes the opportunity to knock Baird down with a hard clothesline that actually sends him into the time keepers table. DW climbs into the mess of wires, cables, people, tables and chairs after Baird. Baird is laid out on a chair and DW starts nailing Baird with hard right after hard right until a small stream of blood begins to trickle down his forehead. DW grabs Baird by the head and pulls him out of the time keeping area and tosses him back into the ring. He follows close behind and taunts the crowd a bit at the fact that Baird is now bleeding.)
FJ: "You know people get fooled by his great mat wrestling ability . . . you have to remember that this is also the man that BEAT Dave Santini in a Taipei Death Match!"
( Jeff Christianson’s confidence can be seen rising as he pulls Baird back to his feet. Baird throws Jeff Christianson’s hands out of the way and begins throwing wild rights and lefts Jeff Christianson ducks and then hits a drop toe hold on Baird who falls on his bloodied face, Jeff Christianson grabs Baird’s ankle and locks in the Anklelock. Baird screams in pain then tries to flip over Jeff Christianson, but he somehow holds on the adds the Grapevine to the hold and Baird has no choice but to submit as the bell is sounded, Jeff Christianson lets go of the hold and lets the ref raise his hand while he looks down at Baird with discontent.)
FJ: "Ha! I told you Porter, see no problem Jeff Christianson advances!"
LP: "Well a hard fought match and in my opinion a classic in which the veteran Jeff Christianson is able to out wrestle and out fight the AWA rookie Colin Baird."
HS: And again we go back to the Shock team
LP: "Thank you Herb.
SUMMARY Razor vs. Damien. (ooc note: I never seen or heard anything regarding this…)
THIS IS A WELL FOUNGHT BACK AND FORTH MATCH IN WHICH RAZOR PROVES TO BE TOO MUCH ADVANCING INTO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE TOURNEY.
HS: "Back to you Larry."
LP: Now ladies and gentlemen the moment alot of you have been waiting for. Snake and Fish face off one on one for the second time.
FJ: Fish took Snakes IC title two weeks ago and the beast will be looking for revenge here tonight.
LP: Many are picking Snake to win this whole tournament Frank with Fish right up there in the voting.
FJ: I guess its time to find out!
(Erie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint and move in a way to make it seem that the whole arena is under water, then "Trendy" by Reel Big Fish hits and the lights flash back on as water shoots from the stage and the Fish dead sprints to the ring, slapping the occasional hand. Once to the ring he raised the IC belt high into the air proudly)
LP: Fish seems to be more then ready here tonight Frank.
FJ: You think he is ready? I don't think its Fish we need to worry about. After what Snake and company did to fellow Toxic Melody member Tre Wilson just minutes ago.
LP: Speak of the devil.
(Arena lights fade as the fast paced intro of "Right now" by Korn hit the PA system and fog began to roll from the stage below as the TRON above began to flash in crimson red letters the words "The Entity" and "The beast" One after another until the booted feet came free of the curtain. Snake wearing the normal black leather pants and trench his bear chest in full flex with
the curvy Monica standing beside him. Making there way down to the ring Monica slid under
the bottom rope and Snake jumped placing one foot to the apron and sliding between the top
and middle rope. Staring at Fish Monica whispered a few words of advice then slide from the ring
LP: You can feel the hatred in the ring right now Frank.
FJ: Hatred? I don't think Fish is capable of hate. As a matter of fact i think Fish even asked Snake be protected the wimp.
LP: That’s only because of Snakes daughter. Look at them jaw jack Frank...OH! what a cheap shot by Snake!
(The cheap shot he talked about was as Snake and Fish were standing nose to nose and Fish turned thinking he had time as the bell had yet to ring but Snake threw a right hand connecting hard with the side of Fish's face sending him down to the mat. The ref was on Snake in a heart beat threatening to DQ him for the attack before the bell
LP: DQ him ref. That was uncalled for.
FJ: Oh shut up, If fish wasn't prepared for it then he deserved it.
(Finally the bell rang and Snake tossed the Trench off and out of the ring as he pulled Fish to his feet but the crowd erupted as Fish brought his arms up and the two men began to exchange right hands. Fish rocked backwards first but with a resolve which made him one of the fans favorite the smaller man came back rocking the animal Snake with first one shot then a second and a third. Snake wobbling back and forth and Fish took off rebounding off the far ropes for more speed before jumping attempting a hurricanrana but Snake grabbed him in midair. As Snake was gaining his balance to slam him down Fish reached up using his own momentum grabbing Snakes head. Sliding from his grasp Fish brought Snake down hard in a modified version of the diamond cutter.)
LP: Oh what a counter! The fish is bad on top!
FJ:...What?! Monica on top?!
LP: ...Frank...you are just....stupid...
(Fish wasted little time as he quickly mounted the ropes. Once Fish was up he jumped into the air hitting a picture perfect 450 splash into the lower back of Snake who's back arched in pain and his fist slammed into the mat. Snake and Fish both rose to there feet though Snake slower then Fish and Fish met him head on with more right hands but Snake showed the bigger strong side of the two by stunning the smaller man with a vicious knee doubling him over. Grabbing Fish he stuffed him face down between his legs in a power bomb position. After lifting him up Fish struggled a bit allowing him to almost drop down behind Snake but his hands quickly came up grabbing and holding him up in the air. Powering Fish the way he wanted him Snake dropped him slamming the man to the mat with a vicious Crucifix powerbomb as he sat down. The whole arena fell silent as Snake rose over the prone body of Fish which laid down motionless on the mat. Snake stood over the body a sick smirk on his face, But it wasn't a few seconds that smirk faded and the crowd erupted again as Fish began to move and pull himself to his feet.)
LP: Oh what heart this man has. After a powerbomb like that he is getting up.
FJ: Yeah well look at Snake, It looks like Snake is about to go for the kill.
(Frank was right, Snake was standing his legs shoulder length apart half bent over waiting for Fish almost stalking fish as he rose to a vertical base. The fans knew this move well and answered the Irish with a chorus of boo's. As Fish returned Snake wrapped his hand about his throat and lifted him up for the Snake strike but Fish countered wrapping his raised legs around Snakes Neck and take him down with a head scissors. While Snake landed disoriented so did Fish from the sudden movement of his counter after that hellish powerbomb....ONE....The ref began his ten count...TWO....THREE....FOUR...Snake began to move with fish right behind....FIVE....SIX....SEVEN....Fish using the ropes pulled himself to his feet as Snake was still to a knee. Taking off at a full fun Fish jumped landing on the second turnbuckle and rebounds jumping again and lands on Snakes shoulders)
LP: Dragonrana!!
FJ: No! Snake get up!
( Frank half got his wish as the momentum took Snake out of the ring to the floor where he landed with a thud. Fish knelt there a moment gathering his waist as Snake outside began to shake the cobwebs from his head. Moving between the ropes Fish planted himself on the apron and waited. Once Snake was to his feet Fish ran and jumped landing square on Snakes shoulders and spun in a head scissors sending Snake back first hard into the steel staircase. Fish wasted no time in pulling Snake to his feet and rolling him into the ring and climbing from the apron to the top rope where he waited. Snake took his sweet ass time getting to his feet but Fish jumped as he turned. Fish couldn't change directions and the look of surprise was in his masked face as Snake turned his lips a sick Smirk and ducked. When Snake came up the whole arena was dead silent as he had Fish draped across his shoulders and lifted)
FJ: Injection!! Injection!!
LP: NO! FISH COUNTERED!
( Mid air Fish Locked his arms and feet around Snake using his body weight and leverage to lock in a painful arm bar attempting to hyperextend the shoulder and elbow as Snake growled in pain. Grabbing Fish with his free hand and lifted attempting a Powerbomb but fish was faster unlocking his legs from the arm he locked them about the neck)
LP: Thats a triangle choke...
FJ: Thats a illegal choke ref DQ fish!
LP: No its Legal Frank....SNAKES DOWN!
( The added weight of Fish at that angle sent Snake falling to the mat where size no longer mattered and Fish torqued hard. Snake's free arm hit the mat and the ref quickly checked the arm, One fall, Two falls, Three falls)
LP: Fish wins! Fish becomes he first man to ever make Snake submit.
(But what was this? Snakes foot rested on the ropes. Was it always there? The ref stared at the leg confused but seeing Monica standing close by pointed to her and then the foot and waved for the better pointing to fish as the winner. Did Monica put the foot on the rope? Or did Snake get that foot up? no one will know)
FJ:...Snake got cheated.
LP: Yeah by his own manager! Fish advances.
FJ: "Back to the Shock Losers
HS: 'Here we go, Mark, first round of King of the Kage action, Rival versus the monster Brian Williams. MK: ' I don't know how Rival, or anyone else for that matter can possibly take down Williams, he's got to be the favorite here tonight. Everyone knows it's nearly impossible to beat Brian Williams.
HS: 'Whatever. Let's go to the ring where we're already getting started. (Rival immediately goes on the attack, trying to take the big man down with a flying tackle. His shoulder lands hard in the gut of Williams, but the monster merely shrugs Rival off, before grabbing the smaller man by the hair, and delivering a SICK downward punch into Rival's face, essentially exploding his nose. Blood gushes out of the wound, and Rival crumbles to the mat, Williams goes for a quick pin, but Rival kicks out in less than one. He grabs two handfuls of Williams' hair, and rolls out from under the big man, before pounding his face repeatedly against the mat.)
HS: 'Rival is a mad man, trying to beat Williams at his own game of twisted offense. He's already been bloodied and I guess he figures Williams should be too. (Back inside the ring, Williams finally manages to shake himself free of Rival's death grip on his hair, the larger man gets wobbly up to his feet, and Rival pops up as well. Rival goes for another tackle, but this time holds on tight, gripping Williams in a bear hug. The monster tries to shake him loose unsuccessfully for a few moments before finally grabbing him, and tossing Rival across the ring into the corner. Williams then charges into the corner himself, and nails a big splash, before stepping out, and placing his boot in Rival's throat. Holding onto the top rope for balance and leverage Williams chokes out Rival, while the ref begins the count. Williams reluctantly breaks the choke at four, and then delivers a series of quick elbows into Rival's skull. Rival stumbles out of the corner, and Williams lifts him bodily and tosses him back into the center of the ring. Williams then strides over to Rivals body, before stepping on his midsection and litterally walking all over the smaller man. Williams then picks up Rival by the by now bloody hair, and lifts him over his head in a gorilla press. He holds up Rival for a minute, before driving him down over his knee in a VICIOUS backbreaker, Williams continues to hold the poor bastard over his knee, pushing down on his throat and legs applying constant pressure to his back. Rival screams in agony, and tries to work himself free but he's caught tight. Finally the ref notices Williams' hand placement, and begins to make a count on Williams second illegal choke of the match.)
HS: 'This is sick, Williams has to be stopped he's trying to kill Rival in the ring, that's the second time he's choked the poor man tonight, JUST GET IT OVER WITH FOR GOD SAKES, PIN THAT MAN! (Williams drops Rival, again at four, stretching out the ref's count as long as possible, he lets a glob of spit fly into Rival's face, before standing up, and raising his hands to the sky, as if to say it's all over now. However, the spittle seems to wake up Rival, and his face becomes absolutely livid. He pops up to his feet, and catches Williams just as he's turning around with a MASSIVE spinning heel kick. The impact throws Williams into the corner, and Rival follows with a spear, which hunches Williams over. Rival continues the assault with several more shoulder blocks to the midsection causing Williams' eyes to nearly pop out of his skull. The big man is winded, and down to one knee, Rival backs up to get a little more momentum, and drives his shoulder into Williams' midsection again, but his moments hesitation was costly, and gave Williams time to recover, and the monster locks his hands around Rival's midsection. He lifts the smaller man up into power bomb position, but instead of driving him into the mat, he simply drops Rival back, face first onto the turnbuckle, as Rival is rebounding off the corner, Williams grabs a handful of hair, and drives him face first into the turnbuckle, again, and again. Finally after about, four more times into the corner, Williams simply doesn't let Rival go, smothering him against the corner. Williams then pulls Rival back away from the corner, and drives Rival down to the mat with the 'Blinded Fateâ€!) MK: 'That's it it's over, Williams has destroyed Rival, this match is in the bag. (Williams stands over the broken body, he waits for a moment, before going for a pin, but as he does, Rival begins screaming, Williams looks down in disgust, before picking the smaller man back up again, and nailed the Blinded Fate yet again. That takes all the rest of the fight out of Rival, and Williams, goes for the pin, and in three seconds it's all over.) MK: 'Haha, I knew it, easy win by the monster Brian Williams.
HS: 'That was grotesque Keller, Williams didn't have to use the Blinded Fate twice, he was trying to kill Rival here tonight. MK: 'And why not, it's what Williams does.
(Again we fade to a scene of the Xplosion announcing team as they prepare for there KOTK match.)
LP: "Well are you ready for our next King of The King round one tournament match Frank?"
FJ: "As ready as I’ll ever be Porter."
LP: "It’s going to be Michael "Spitfire" Stevens taking on Rawstarr, and here we go."
(We see the lights go to a blue gleam as Cuttin’ by Mike Jones hits, and we see Rawstarr ease out of the curtains, looks up and raises his arms. with his eyes closed. then looks forward, then goes down the walk way clapping hands of his fans, then slides in to the ring. and goes to a far side turnbuckle and does a cross signal on his chest. He takes a seat on the top turnbuckle in the far corner and waits for Steven’s after a few moments "EMI" by the Sex Pistols hits and Michael Stevens walks down to the ring casually with Black Dragon not far behind.)
LP: "Remember that this is Stevens’ second match tonight and Rawstarr is essentially a fresh man."
FJ: "Well as fresh as Rawstarr gets, I have you smelt the guy lately . . . the streets haven’t done good for his odor."
(The two men circle and you can see the pride in the way Stevens carries himself and the depression in the way Rawstarr carries himself. Stevens rushes at Raw and tries to hit a clothesline but Raw us able to duck out of the way and hit Stevens with a drop kick when he turns around. Stevens goes down but is quick back to his feet and again charges Raw and this time hits a dropkick of his own which takes both Rawstarr and the crowd by surprise. Stevens throws his hands in the air as if to say "Yeah, I did it" then moves in on Rawstarr to continue his assault. Stevens tries to lock up but Raw executes a textbook standing switch then drops to his knees and chop blocks Stevens which brings Stevens down to his knees. Raw quickly jumps up and hits a bulldog on Stevens then holds onto the headlock.)
LP: "Beautiful set of moves there by Rawstarr, I swear if he keeps wrestling like this it will only be a matter of time until he’s back on his feet again."
(Raw is on the mat with Stevens trying to increase the pressure but after a while the bigger Stevens starts to gain the advantage and reaches one knee, he then elbows Raw in the gut three times and is able to get to a full standing position. Then out of nowhere Stevens spins around and drops Raw to the mat with a Reverse Fujiwara Armbar, the crowd buzzes.)
LP: "There’s the Slow Burn!"
(Sensing danger Raw is able to get to the ropes and break the hold almost instantly. Stevens rolls back to his feet bouncing back and forth a little as Raw gets up holding his arm. Stevens runs at Raw and Raw back drops Stevens over the ropes, although Stevens lands on the apron. When Raw turns around he is meet by a stun gun courtesy Michael Stevens and falls to the mat holding his throat as Stevens drops to the fall for only a second then slides back into the ring. he mounts Raw and begins unloading left and rights on the former Cruiserweight Champion. The ref yells at him to get off then starts the five count. Stevens breaks the hold at four and pulls Raw back to his feet as he does. A dazed Rawstarr is then met with a brutal short arm clothesline that turns him inside out and ends with him landing face first after a back flip.)
LP: "Oh my!"
FJ: "Now that’s what I’m talking about!"
LP: "Great move by Stevens to keep the pressure on Rawstarr."
(Stevens turns over Rawstarr and covers him arrogantly, laying his back across Raw’s chest. 1 . . . 2 . . . Rawstarr is able to throw his right arm up in the air and break the count. Stevens picks up Raw by the hair and whips him into the ropes, Stevens goes for a big boot but Star is able to duck and hit a neck breaker on Stevens. Raw quickly gets up and hits the ropes then drops a leg across the neck of Stevens. Stevens slowly gets up shaking out the cob webs and is met with a famasser which Rawstarr calls the "Hot Stepper" Stevens returns to the mat and Raw begins to climb the turnbuckle just as Rawstarr reaches the top Stevens regains his footing and Raw jumps off the ropes hitting a missile dropkick. Raw looks like he might cover Stevens but instead goes to the ropes on the other side of the ring and again climbs the ropes. Stevens is gain back to his feet but this time when Rawstarr jumps he is caught by Stevens and thrown down with a hard spinebuster that ends bad when Rawstarr’s head bounces off the mat.)
LP: "Ouch, this doesn’t look good for Rawstarr."
FJ: "Yeah, and look how happy Stevens looks!"
(Frank is right, Stevens is smiling in the ring and as Rawstarr tries to get up he just pushes his head back down with his boot. Stevens continues this act for about a minute then finally covers Rawstarr. 1 . . . 2 . . . Rawstarr somehow is able to kick out, but Stevens doesn’t look too concerned. He picks up Raw and hits a belly to belly suplex, then a northern lights suplex , and then a front suplex.)
LP: "Man this is getting ugly fast, the ref might want to think about stopping this one."
FJ: "Don’t be such a pussy Porter, he’s fine."
(Stevens again goes for the cover and this time Rawstarr is able to get a foot across the bottom rope. Stevens looks irritated as he kick the foot off the rope and covers again. Again Rawstarr gets the same foot on the rope. Stevens starts yelling to no one in particular then pulls Rawstarr into the middle of the ring and covers, hooking the leg for the first time in the match. 1 . . .2 . . . 3. NO! Rawstarr manages to get the shoulder up at the last second. Stevens pulls Rawstarr up and whips him into the turnbuckle then comes in hard with a splash. Rawstarr crumbles over and it looks like he might be out on his feet. Stevens then sits Raw up on the top turnbuckle and sets up for a superplex. He hits the move to "owwws" and "aaaahs" by the crowd then locks in the slow burn. Rawstarr is too out of it to even tap but the ref raises his hand 1, 2,3 times and watches it drop then rings the bell.)
LP: "Mercifully this one is over."
FJ: Whats next for us?
LP:That would be Fury VS The great Amazo.
FJ: The great what?
LP: He is a new member of our company Frank.
FJ:..What does it matter? Here he comes.
( "The Nobodies" by Marilyn Manson hit the PA system and the Great Amazo appeared in a puff of smoke and started down the rampway to little to no crowd reaction and slide into the ring to the same no reaction (
LP: The crowd seems....
FJ: To care less about this new guy?
LP: That’s putting it mildly.
FJ: Now this guy i like.
LP: How can you like this jackass? All he does is stalk behind his steroid using friend and attack people who can't defend themselves.
FJ: Exactly.
LP:........
("Points of Authority" By Linkin Park hits the PA system and Fury comes running from the curtain. Energy all about his every movement as he moved first left and then right mocking the crowd to a chorus of boos before sprinting down the ramp and sliding into the ring. Turning to face the ring and faces his opponent.)
LP: Our AWA Fans are letting this hooligan know what they think of him.
FJ: Oh do they know?
(Amazo raised his hand as if to do some form of Magic trick but shock showed about his face as nothing happened. Starting into a run toward Fury but being smaller and faster has tis advantages and Fury lowered himself under the right hand. Turning back toward the man and jumped sending a dropkick into the mans back sending him hard into the turnbuckle. Fury turned and raised his hand in a mocking gesture toward Amazo getting a boo from the crowd. Amazo turned clearly angry from the mocking gesture toward him and charged Fury. Fury expecting the rage and the actions in anger just leveled the man with a stiff right hand leveling the man. Once more Fury seemed turn and jumped around in a mocking fashion
LP: Fury seems a little to over confident.
FJ: That’s what makes it so great!
(Once more Amazo rose to his feet rage showing across his face and neck glowing bright red from the anger of being embarrassed not once, but twice. It was at this time Amazo made his biggest mistake, He underestimated Fury and for the third time rushed forward but this time Fury dropped into a drop toe hold sending Amazo down to rest his throat and chest. With Amazo resting on the ropes Fury ran forward swinging around the ropes and driving his feet into the mans face sending him reeling back into the mat. Fury then again jumped landing on the ropes and spring boards driving his outstretched leg into the mans knee's to the sound of a loud SNAP! Before rolling into the cover for the quick ..ONE...TWO...THREE. Once Fury rolled off Amazo grabbed his knee's howling in pain and Fury stood raising one arm a sick smirk on his face)
LP:...Oh that is horrible....Fury is taking pleasure in hurting another person.
FJ: I guess he is a lot more like his Stable mate then anyone thought.
(The medics came running out and placed Amazo on one of those long stretcher boards before wheeling him out as Fury stared down the ramp waving his hand to a course of boo's from the crowd
(A commercial for the official Black Dragon DVD "High Flights, and Crash Landings" is shown.")
LP: "Oh, it's time, Frank... it's time for the first semi-final, to see
who is going to advance to the King of the Kage finals
FJ: "You mean, it's time to see the 2004 King of the Kage champion, Dark
Warrior."
LP: "Either one of these men has a great shot at winning the KOTK title
and this match could very well have been for the Tournament itself. That's
just part of the allure and grandeur of King of the Kage... AWA's biggest
names get to go one on one at any time during the night!"
FJ: "Dark Warrior already handled the Hardcore Champion earlier tonight.
The Intercontinental Champion shouldn't be much more of a challenge."
LP: "Fish, a little over a year, has already become of one AWA's most
decorated Superstars and is a former World Champion, a three time
Cruiserweight champion, a two time Television Champion and, after a
successful defense earlier tonight, our current Intercontinental Champion.
And this flashy fan favorite can only be seen on Xplosion! AND HERE HE
COMES!"
(Erie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint and move in a way
to make it seem that the whole arena is under water, then 'Trendy' by Reel
Big Fish hits and the lights flash back on as water shoots from the stage
and the Fish emerges from the back. He heads nearly full steam down to the
ring as the entire arena hits their feet for their favorite superstar. Fish
makes it to the ring, brandishing his Intercontinental Title, and hops up
onto a ring post, holding his title high over his head with both hands,
posing for pictures. The fans begin a USA! chant as he goes to each
turnbuckle individually with the same results. After his music has dies
down, and the fans settle, he hands the title to the referee and they both
await Fish's opponent.)
LP: "Would you just listen to this place... it's almost chaotic in here.
These D.C. fans love the Fish!"
FJ: "Just because he gets a cheap USA chant? On July 4th no less... how
passe."
LP: "What is your problem?"
FJ: "NOthing... NOW!"
('We Go Hard' by Cam'ron and DMX hits the P.A. and the fans immediatly
begin to shower the arena with boo's. Dark Warrior emerges from the back as
the red glow highlights his path to the ring. With footage of his past great
matches behind him, Dark Warrior makes sure that the fans know he is a TRUE
Grand Slam champion. He locks eyes with Fish, however, and forgets about
the booing fans. The two stare one another down, never looking away from
one another's eyes. Dark Warrior climbs into the ring and the two stand toe
to toe.)
LP: "This crowd is electric! They KNOW this will be one for the history
books!"
FJ: "Haha, Fish has to look up at Dark Warrior. He's such a runt!"
LP: "You'll never learn, will you?"
(Suddenly, Dark Warrior lunges out with a hard European Uppercut, sending
Fish staggering back.)
LP: "Dark Warrior just nailed Fish before the bell. He sucker-punched
him!"
FJ: "Oh, shut up, Dark Warrior is just being the aggressor!"
(DW follows with a hard kick to Fish's stomach that sends the
Intercontinental Champion back into the ropes. Fish repels off the ropes
into the waiting arms of Dark Warrior, who quickly locks the much smaller
Fish into a headlock, taunting him. He then rolls the headlock into a
Dragon Sleeper on the Fish, getting quite a negative reaction from the
crowd.)
LP: "Dark Warrior's underhanded tactics have..."
FJ: (Interrupting him.) "Worked like a charm."
(Fish, displaying his unprecedented athleticism, kicks himself up into
the air, while DW still has the Dragon sleeper locked in, and then uses the
momentum of gravity to toss Dark Warrior over in an over the top arm drag.
Dark Warrior rolls through and the Fish kips up so that both men are again
on their feet, facing one another, about eight feet apart. Both men close
in on one another and Dark Warrior reacts first, charging at Fish, who drops
to the mat and counters with a drop toe hold. Dark Warrior catches himself
with his hands, however, and twists his whole body around, causing Fish's
legs to get tangled up into DW's and forcing him to fall over. The Fish
rolls through the fall and Dark Warrior pushes himself up to his feet with
his hands, and, once again, both men are standing toe to toe.)
LP: "Wow, what fast paced and incredible action so far!"
FJ: "It's only a matter of time before Dark Warrior shows Fish what being
a Grand-Slam champion is all about."
(Fish reacts first this time, locking up with Dark Warrior. DW quickly
outpowers Fish, and then locks him in a neck wrench headlock. Fish shoves
DW front first into the ropes who bounces back into the awaiting arms of the
Intercontinental Champion. The Fish leaps foward, pulling Dark Warrior with
him by the back of the head and slams his face into the mat with a
face-plant bulldog. The crowd cheers as the impact forces Dark Warrior to
bounce a couple of inches off the ground and do a 180 degree turn onto his
back.)
LP: "Excellent counter by the Fish. Dark Warrior never saw it coming."
FJ: "He's just letting the Fish look good before he finishes him up."
LP: "Oh, please."
(Fish reaches down for Dark Warrior's leg, but the Montreal native uses
his free leg to shove the Fish off. Dark Warrior climbs to his feet in time
to catch the Fish's leg and then duck the ensuing ensigure. Insantly, Dark
Warrior, now behind the Fish, tosses him overhead with a release German
suplex.)
FJ: "See, he was just stalling for time."
LP: "Tactful counter by Dark Warrior."
FJ: "Tactful? Tactful? Dark Warrior just folded the Fish up like an
accordian with that German and all you can say is tactful?"
LP: "And the accordian is on his feet!"
(Fish ducks the clothesline from a charging Dark Warrior, who is merely a
blur across the screen, and goes charging into the ropes himself. Both men
rebound and come flying back at one another at the same rate. Dark Warrior
leaps through the air with a spinning wheel kick, but doesn't connect,
because Fish has bridged backwards, narrowly avoiding impact. However,
before Fish can stand up, Dark Warrior lands a huge double axehandle to the
Fish's exposed solar plexus, instantly forcing the wind out of the one
hundred sixty-five pounder and sending him sprawling to the mat.)
LP: "Vicious maneuver by Dark Warrior, the Fish is in a world of hurt
now."
FJ: "Vicious... but effective nonetheless. Dark Warrior is vying for his
first KOTK, and he's not about to let a petty thing such as sportsmanship
keep him from that."
LP: "I never argued the moves affectiveness, just it's integrity."
FJ: "Again... whatever it takes, Larry. Whatever it takes."
(Dark Warrior picks Fish up by the back of his mask and then whips the
Fish hard into the turnbuckle. He then proceeds to unload a series of
piercing knife edge chops that echo through the entire MCI Centre. With
each resonating impact, the fans cringe as the Fish's chest grows red as hot
coals. After the barrage of chops, Dark Warrior, starting to feel the
momentum, takes a few steps back, then, after mocking the Fish once more,
charges full steam for him.)
FJ: "It's the Midnight Express... WOO WOO!"
LP: "This could hurt."
(THWACK! Dark Warrior is doubled over, clutching his chest from the huge
boot the Fish just planted into it. Almost instinctively, the Fish leaps up
onto the second rope in his turnbuckle and leaps off, grabbing DW around his
neck and twisting in the air, pulling DW with him as he falls to the mat.)
LP: "WHAT A COUNTER! TORNADO DDT FROM THE FISH! DARK WARRIOR IS DOWN!"
FJ: "Wha... he... he cheated somehow!"
(Fish, his chest still a bright red, goes for a quick cover, hooking Dark
Warrior's leg. After a quick two-count, DW kicks out. Fish follows up with
a quick standing senton and then double hooks Dark Warrior's legs with his
own, then bridges backward, causing the referee to make another count.
ONE... TWO... but Dark Warrior wraps his arms around the three-time
cruiserweight champion, pulling his shoulders off the mat. He then uses all
his strength to force the Fish up, breaking his legs free as he does, and
ends up behind the Fish.)
FJ: "Dark Warrior is powering out. He's not the only wrestler with
excellent agility tonight!"
LP: "And Dark Warrior executes ANOTHER German suplex... No! Fish lands on
his feet!"
FJ: "Turn around, DW, turn around!"
(As Dark Warrior turns around, he is met by the flying body of the Fish.)
LP: "Springboard cross body!"
FJ: "But, look, Dark Warrior rolls through. It's a pin, this could be
it!"
(The fans roar at the action they've seen so far as Fish rolls out of the
pin after two, forcing Dark Warrior's shoulders to the mat. ONE!... TWO!...
Dark Warrior rolls over then pins Fish in a sit down position, hooking both
legs. ONE!... TWO!... The Fish quickly rolls himself up and now has Dark
Warrior pinned in a similar position. ONE!... TWO!... Dark Warrior rolls
foward and counters with another sit-down pin. ONE!... TWO!... The Fish
rolls foward, this time with enough momentum to bridge over Dark Warrior,
hooking his legs. ONE!... TWO!... Dark Warrior, kicks out and bridges
himself up, hooking the Fish's arms behind his, pulling him over his body
with a backslide pin. ONE!... TWO!... The Fish kicks out and both men
quickly roll to their feet as the fans are going nuts.)
LP: "THESE FANS ARE GOING NUTS! WHAT FAST-PACED ACTION!"
FJ: "That last pin was a three count, I saw it! Dark Warrior should be
advancing!"
LP: "First off, it was clearly two, and even it was three, the referee
only counted two, so it's final."
FJ: "Since when is a referee's decision final... oh wait, this is AWA not
WWE."
(Fish and Dark Warrior stare one another down, for the third time in the
match, as the fans are electric. Both men lunge out at one another,
grappling, and then jockeying for position. Dark Warrior forces the Fish
back, so far back that the Fish's head is only an inch off the ground.
Then, amazingly, the Fish forces himself back up.)
FJ: "Whoa, how did he do that?"
LP: "He has super-human strength, Frank. He IS a super-hero afterall."
(Once he's back to a vertical base, the Fish forces Dark Warrior backward
in the same manner. Dark Warrior struggles to force himself up, but is
unable, so he kicks out one of his legs and aims it for the Fish's groin.)
LP: "OH, THAT WAS A CHEAP SHOT! LOW BLOW! That should be a
disqualification."
FJ: "The referee didn't see it, so it didn't count. Afterall, his
decision IS final."
(The Fish almost instantly slumps to the mat, in pain. Before the
referee can see the Fish clutching his nether-regions, Dark Warrior is on
the attack, and locks in a half-Boston Crab on the Fish.)
FJ: "Tap, Fish. TAP!"
LP: "Both of these men are giving it their all tonight. Both of these
men are trying to advance to the finals in hopes of winning their first ever
King of the Kage Tournement. Both of these men have already faught matches
tonight. This is the Fish's THIRD match of the evening, and, if he advances
to the finals, and wins, that will be an AWA record for most matches won in
one night!"
FJ: "But he won't, because he's about to tap out!"
(Dark Warrior locks the move in tighter as the Fish struggles to crawl
across the floor. The fans cheer him on loudly, a USA! USA! USA! chant,
rather than the usual FISHY! chants, as he slowly inches his way to the
ropes. Dark Warrior clenches his whole body as he locks the submission in
tighter and tighter. Fish grimaces in intense pain, but he still crawls
across the floor.)
LP: "I'd love to see the expressions on his face right now, behidn that
mask."
FJ: "You know, he only wears a mask because his face looks like a fish."
LP: "You can tell a lot from his eyes. Just look at that desire, that
emotion, that intensity... he won't give up... he can't give up!"
FJ: "Oh, yes he will... tap Fish, tap!"
LP: "Come on, Fish, you can make it... only a few more inches... his arm
is outstretched... he's so close..."
FJ: "He's gonna tap! He's gonna tap! He's gonna tap!"
LP: "He's sooo close!"
FJ: "HE'S TAPPING! HE's TAPPING!"
LP: "NO! He was reaching for the ropes... HE MADE IT!"
(The fans go insane as the referee orders Dark Warrior to release the
hold, who can't believe it. The Fish immediatly clutches at his leg, and
rolls out of the ring, while Dark Warrior argues with the referee.)
FJ: "That's it, Fish, run away!"
LP: "He's not running, he's trying to give himself some recuperation
time."
FJ: "He's not a fish, he's a chicken!"
(The Fish limps about outside the ring and, after a few more seconds,
Dark Warrior takes pursuit. Fish tries to limp away, but Dark Warrior soon
catches up to him, only to meet the ring steps face first after a well timed
drop-toe hold from the Fish. The fans cheer loudly as the loud 'DONK'
echoes through the arena.)
LP: "And it was Dark Warrior taking the bait from the Fish."
FJ: "Yeah, how ironic..."
LP: "Dark Warrior just crashed head first into those steel steps, folks."
FJ: "And listen, these fans are going nuts... that's just sick. That man
could be permanently injured."
LP: "Weren't you the won who was cheering for MORE blood in our hardcore
match earlier?"
(Dark Warrior isn't busted open, but does have a nice sized lump on his
forehead where his skull collided with the steel stairs. He groggily climbs
to his feet as Fish rolls into the ring, cathing his breath and breaking the
count at seven. Dark Warrior stumbles about outside the ring and a blue and
silver flashes across the screen.)
LP: "OH MY GOD! SUICIDE DIVE! SUICIDE DIVE!"
FJ: "NOOO! Wait, haha, look, the Fish hurt himself too!"
(Both men lay outside the ring in pain as the referee begins his count.
ONE!...TWO!... HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!... FOUR!... FIVE!...)
LP: "That was incredible! That's why they're called high risk
maneuevers. This match could be a double count out!"
FJ: "Get up, DW, get up!"
(Both men stumble to their feet... SIX!... SEVEN!... they spot one
another and begin trading exhausted rights... EIGHT!... NINE!... both men
quickly slide into the ring before ten and practically use one another to
climb to their feet, where they again begin trading rights.)
LP: "WHEW! I thought it was over there."
FJ: "Great presence of mind by Dark Warrior to slide into the ring."
LP: "Uh... the Fish did too."
FJ: "Don't botch the truth, Larry, we all saw what happened. This is a
LIVE show."
(The fans are in an uproar as both men go back and forth, tired blow by
tired blow. They cheer even louder when it seems like Fish gains the upper
hand and begins to chop Dark Warrior back into the ropes. He then uses the
spring action of the ropes and whips Dark Warrior across the ring. Dark
Warrior bounces back and is met by the Fish, who has backflipped off the
middle rope. But before Fish can catch Dark Warrior, the Grand Slam
Champion Super Kick's the Fish in mid-air, connecting with his back, and
sending the Fish sprawling into the ropes, where his legs gets tangled up
and he lays on the mat, unable to move.)
FJ: "WHAT A COUNTER! DARK WARRIOR HAS FISH IN HIS NET NOW!"
LP: "And Fish doesn't look like he's even all there."
(The referee practically begs Dark Warrior not to climb the turnbuckle,
but he pays no attention. The Fish catches Dark Warrior at the top of the
turnbuckle and immediatly begins struggling to free himself.)
LP: "Oh no, what is Dark Warrior going to do here?"
FJ: "He's going for a high risk maneuver and Fish is unable to move!"
LP: "Move, Fish, move!"
FJ: "HERE COMES THE HIGH DEATH!"
(The fans are stunned as Dark Warrior lands the five star frog splash
that sends a loud 'THUD' through the MCI Centre. The impact causes Fish's
legs to bounce free and Dark Warrior, after shaking off the pain of impact,
goes over for the easy cover.)
FJ: "IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER! IT'S OVER!"
LP: "I can't believe it!"
(The fans boo as the referee counts the pin. ONE! TWO! THREE!)
FJ: "DARK WARRIOR ADVANCES TO THE TOURNEMENT FINAL!"
LP: "NO, LOOK, FISH'S FOOT WAS ON THE ROPES AND THE REFEREE SEES IT THIS
TIME!"
FJ: "NOOOOOOOO! Dammit, where was he at when Snake's foot was on teh
ropes?"
LP: "This match is still going to continue! AND LOOK, DARK WARRIOR
DOESN'T KNOW IT!"
FJ: "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!"
(Dark Warrior grabs the referee's hand and raises his own arm in victory
as the fans cheer loudly because Fish has climbed the turnbuckle behind Dark
Warrior. By the time Dark Warrior has realized what has happened, it's too
late, and is out cold on the mat.)
LP: "FISH-O-RANA! FISH-O-RANA!"
FJ: "NOOOOOO! HE CHEATED!"
(The crowd erupts loudly as the Fish begins stalking Dark Warrior,
waiting for him to get up. As Dark Warrior gets to his feet, Fish kicks him
in the gut and brings him foward, lifting him up for a piledriver. The fans
begin shouting DSD! as Fish hooks his legs around Dark Warrior's arms.)
LP: "Here comes the DEEP SEA DRIVER! If he hits this, it's all over!
FISH IS ABOUT TO ADVANCE!"
FJ: "This is an outrage, a debacle, Dark Warrior already won!"
(Before Fish can land the DSD, Dark Warrior frantically lunges out with
his free elbow at the back of Fish's knee-the same knee on which the Boston
Crab was locked-and the Fish stumbles, giving Dark Warrior the opening he
needs. Dark Warrior grabs the Fish's ankle and pulls it backward, causing
Fish, already off-balance, to fall to the mat.)
FJ: "ANKLE LOCK! ANKLE LOCK! ANKLE LOCK!"
LP: "Whan an AMAZING reversal by Dark Warrior! He's not going down just
yet!"
FJ: "I knew he would do that all along!"
LP: "He's got the leg locked in now, and Fish isn't going to go
anywhere."
(Fish, unable to move, struggles for nearly thirty seconds, but Dark
Warrior only locks the move in tighter and Fish, exhausted and in tremendous
pain, has no choice but to passout.)
FJ: "HE'S PASSED OUT!!!"
LP: "Dark Warrior WINS! DARK WARRIOR ADVANCES TO THE TOURNEMENT FINAL!
HE'LL FINALLY GET A SHOT TO BE THE KING OF THE KAGE!"
FJ: "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! WHAT AM AMAZING VICTORY BY DARK WARRIOR! HE PUT
EVERYTHING ON THE LINE TONIGHT!"
LP: "And what a valiant effort by the Fish! Having already competed in
two matches prior to this one, including a controversial win over Snake to
get this far and a huge win to retain his Intercontinental Championship!"
FJ: "Who cares about the Fish, he lost! Dark Warrior is going on to the
King of the Kage finals!"
LP: "And just listen to these fans giving Dark Warrior, and the Fish, a
great show of respect after a hard fought battle with a clean ending!"
FJ: "Dark Warrior WILL be the 2004 King of the Kage, just watch!"
(The fans give the Fish a nice round of applause as he dejectedly walks
to the back, but as he reaches the entranceway, he turns around and holds
his IC title high and the fans go nuts. Dark Warrior rolls his eyes and
then proclaims that he will be the next World Champion and no one will stand
in his way. He ignores the applause of the fans as he makes his way to the
back.)
LP: And finally we reach the time in which we will see the other finalist of KOTK.
FJ: "That’s right Fury faces Michael Stevens."
(Both men stand in the ring, as the referee seperates them until the bell rings... after what seems an hour, it finally does, and Fury charges in toward Stevens. But, Stevens quickly catches Fury by the arm, and switches over into a hammerlock. Fury swings an elbow, Stevens ducks under, and hits the northern lights suplex with the bridge, picking up the 1, 2... and a kickout.)
LP: Stevens almost had Fury there.
FJ: He's going to have to do alot more than that to keep Fury down.
(Stevens stays on the mat after the nearfall, turning Fury over and locking on the cross-face... but Fury uses his strength to raise himself up... before shoving Stevens into the ropes... Stevens rebounds, and Fury drops flat on his stomach for Stevens to leap over... but instead of taking the bait, Stevens sinks right back down to the mat and locks in the cross-face for a SECOND time!)
LP: Stevens is putting on a clinic for us tonight.
FJ: Aw, he's just showboating. Fury will be back before ya know it.
(Fury rallies to grab the ropes... but they're way too far away. He tries to power out of the cross-face like he did the last time, but he's starting to wear out from the non-stop onslaught being dished out by "Spitfire". Just when it looks as though Fury has had it, Stevens lets go! He lifts Fury back to his feet, simply to inflict MORE damage. Stevens short-arm whips Blaze, before bringing him back in for the knee to the gut. He holds onto the arm, wrenches it a bit, and whips his opponent once more, reeling him back in, and striking with a knife edge chop, which drops Blaze to one knee... yet Stevens STILL holds onto the arm. He picks Blaze back up, whips him out again, and drags him in... before whipping him up and over with the snapmare, straight on his @ss. Stevens lowers to the ground, and latches on with the cobra clutch, and this has GOT to be it! Stevens wrenches it in, choking the life out of the smaller Fury... but Fury somehow, someway begins to shake it off, stomping his boot... before gaining some power and trying to stand up. He makes it halfway up, but Stevens goes for a knee to the back... Fury runs under the flying knee, leaps backwards into the air, and drops Stevens like a bad habit with the swinging neckbreaker! Stevens falls to the canvas with a sickening thud, and Fury just may have a second chance to win this thing!)
(Fury springboards off the middle rope, looking for a moonsault, but catches nothing more than two knees to the back from the Spitfire. Fury lumbers backward, Stevens stands up... and clothesline- straight... to... hell! Stevens goes down with the falling Fury, and as soon as they both hit the mat, Stevens rolls over, and wraps up Fury in a leglace. After a couple of minutes, the ref grabs Fury's hand... and lifts it into the air. It drops. He lifts it again... and here we are again. The ref hooks the hand one last time... brings it high into the air... and... Stevens tosses Fury off! Stevens wants to KILL this poor man! Stevens stands up, squares up Fury, and drops an elbow. Stevens rises up... and drops down a knee. Fury rolls over in pain, on the verge of internal bleeding... Stevens snatches Fury up by the hair, whips him into the ropes, and on his return, Stevens flapjacks Blaze up into the air, and throat-first on the ropes with the Stungun! Fury stumbles back a few... right into a german suplex! Stevens grasps onto the move, picks him AND Blaze back up, and lands a consecutive german! Stevens wraps his arms tightly around Blaze's waist, lifts the two of them back to their feet... and BOOM! Third german suplex in a row!)
LP: My GOD! Fury won't be able to make it out of the ppv after this match! He's being TOTALLY decimated.
FJ: Meh... Fury is just resting. Get ready for the tables to be turned any second now...
(Stevens crawls ontop of Fury, and starts driving his knuckles into the guy's flesh... leaving bruises all across his face. Right, after right, after right, only stopping to take a breather... Stevens finally grows tired of beating the holy living hell out of Fury, and dismounts. Stevens rushes into the ropes, springs off, and brings the double elbow hard and heavy into Fury's chest, knocking the wind out of him. Stevens rests on the ground beside Fury, turns him over, and... CROSS-FACE!!!)
FJ: Now this is just plain silly! Stevens isn't even giving Fury a chance!
LP: Fury wanted the "Spitfire", and he GOT him. The man is totally living up to his name.
(Stevens clinches the cross-face as tight as he can muster... and Fury is half unconcious at this point. He isn't even in the shape to lift a finger toward the ropes... Stevens doesn't wait for the ref to check Fury this time. Instead, he quickly goes for the cover: 1, 2... and Stevens pulls Fury's shoulder up off the canvas! Stevens smiles at this, content in knowing he can easily finish off Fury at absolutely ANY time he pleases. Stevens pins the shoulder once more... and pulls off the same routine!!!)
FJ: Michael Stevens is a vile, VILE man! And I'm a lesser man for knowing him!
LP: Frank, you were a lesser man BEFORE you met him.
FJ: ... You're dispicable.
LP: What's up, doc...
(Stevens brings Fury back up to level position... short-arm whip... and an Arn Anderson styled spinebuster! And Fury has almost been driven through the very mat! Stevens hops up to his feet, and lifts both arms into the air, receiving a fair amount of boos... along with a slight mixture of cheers. Let's face it, this has been an impressive showing so far, as Stevens has OBLITERATED Blaze with moves left and right... and it's not even over yet. Stevens scrapes Fury off the canvas... short-arm whip, catches him in another hammer-lock... and a spinning BODYSLAM!!! Stevens is wearing out Fury like a pair of 20 year old sandles! Stevens turns his attention away from Fury... and toward the post. He smirks to himself, and walks over to the turnbuckle.)
FJ: See! I told ya, Stevens is too busy trying to be the spectacle, and this top rope move is going to cost him, I got a feeling!
LP: Well, that's why they call it a high-RISK maneuvre. Let's see what Stevens has up his sleeve...
(Stevens mounts the post... and awaits Fury to get back to his feet... but he ends up waiting about ten minutes without an inch of movement from Fury... Stevens becomes impatient, and hops off the turnbuckle, walking over to pick Fury up manually... but as soon as he lifts Fury to a single knee, Fury hits a deadly uppernut!!! Stevens bends over... and Fury rolls him up in a small package. Speaking of packages, that blow looked VICOUS...)
FJ: 1...
LP: 2...
FJ: 3!!! Yay!!!
LP: Uhm... Frank. I believe that was a kickout.
FJ: I know damn you, can't you allow me to hold onto ANYTHING... This is hopeless, wake me when the massacre's over.
(Fury scrambles across the ring to the corner, trying desperately to recoup before Stevens gets back up and lays in another pounding... but his fight is in vain, as Stevens grabs Fury by the ankle. Stevens makes it to his feet... and Fury tries to do likewise, only with his foot in Stevens' hands... He picks himself up, hopping on one leg, and looks over at Stevens... the two glare deeply into eachother's eyes... before... ENZIGURI! DUCKED!!! Fury whips his leg over Stevens' head, and Mike latches on from behind with the waistlock, goes for the german... but Fury somersaults behind the Spitfire! Fury lands a dropkick to the back of Stevens, sending him into the ropes. Stevens ricochets off... right into a twisting hurricanrana! But not only does it bring down Stevens, but Blaze has used up everything left in his reserve, and is laying motionless on the mat as well. Stevens slowly but surely makes it back to his feet first. Stevens backs up to the other side of the ring... Fury pulls himself up by the turnbuckle... and Stevens runs in, takes to the air, and crushes Fury under his weight with the splash!!! Stevens pulls out, and Fury stumbles right into a drop-toe hold. Stevens floats over into an STF, and locks it on tight. Fury is so close to tapping, there's already one U for this one in the recordbooks for Stevens... Stevens releases the hold, just as he has all of the previous submissions. Michael stands tall in the center of the ring, picking his spot... and as soon as Fury makes it to his feet, holding his right leg in pure agony... Stevens rushes in with the chopblock, right to the knee! Fury nearly cracks his joint going down. Stevens makes his way back up again, and hovers over Blaze like a vulture...)
LP: I think Stevens is fixing to try for something here...
FJ: I hope it ends this train-wreck... it's starting to become hard to watch...
(Stevens backs up into the corner, anticipating Fury to take one last stand... and he does...)
LP: GORE! GORE! GORE! Stevens spears Fury straight into the post... He pulls him out of the corner, sets him up in the middle of the ring... and drives him downwards, skull-first, with the Inferno DDT!!!!! The referee goes down to make the count, and we have a one, a two, and a three. Ladies and gents, this one's in the books!
FJ: Great, I can open my eyes now... holy hell! Fury is lying on the canvas, engorged from head to toe in his own blood! This is SICKENING!
LP: Indeed it is, Frank... indeed it is.
FJ: "There we have it Dark Warrior against Michael Stevens in the KOTK finals."
LP: "Now in between rounds we will see our Cruiserweight title match."
FJ: Just two weeks after winning the Cruiserweight title Rawstarr has to defend in a return match against Blackjack. Will we see shades of Rawstarr V Snake in this match?
LP: Oh please, Blackjack is no Snake frank.
FJ: I meant being defeated by the former....Oh who cares, Where comes the challenger anyway.
*Green onions by Booker T and the MG's hits and Blackjack appears on the ramp way and as the guitar chimes in Pyros shoot up from each side of the ramp all the way down, at every chime of the guitar 4-8 times, as he makes his way down and climbs into the ring going to the middle of the ring and raising his arms out and up then tosses off his Leather Jacket.*
LP: Blackjack seems to have no ill effects of the hellish Battle royal he took part in last week.
FJ: And now the homeless champion!!
*"Hero" By Mariah Carey Hit the PA system and a ragged Rawstarr stepped through the curtain the Cruiserweight title about his waist and looking so out of place. Sliding into the ring Rawstarr stepped up onto the turnbuckle and raised the belt high into the air. Jumping down he handed the ref the belt who raised it high into the air.*
LP: Who are you taking in this match Frank?
FJ: Blackjack. Hands down. Rawstarr cannot defend a title and walk out with the belt.
*The two men in the ring each a favorite of the fans came forward and locked up in a collar elbow tie up each man fighting for position. Blackjack having a slight weight advantage began to force Rawstarr backwards toward the turnbuckle, But Rawstarr turned forcing Blackjack into a hammerlock but Blackjack spin locking his arms around Rawstarr's waist and attempted a german suplex but Rawstarr twisted and turned landing smoothly on his feet. As the two men began to circle again the crowd showed how much they loved the fast paced stand off by giving each man a standing ovation*
LP: Now that’s what we like the hear. Listen to them Frank.
FJ: Monica in a thong ..WHERE?!
LP:....You do know how to ruin a good moment you moron.
*Once again the two men lunged at one another but Rawstarr ducked underneath the outstretched hands of Blackjack and when the man turned Raw jumped hitting a textbook dropkick square into the chin of the turning Blackjack who hit the mat hard. Rawstarr just stood there a moment seemingly stalking his foe and when Blackjack rose Raw jumped his leg arched clearly attempting a High Stepper but Blackjack caught him walking in and jumped causing Raw to land hard on his @ss and that’s when Blackjack pounced. Driving a knee into the middle of Raw's back Blackjack locked his arms around the mans neck in a reverse seated sleeper hold.*
FJ: Break his neck Blackjack! End AWA's misery!!
LP: How can you say that?!
FJ: A Bum as Cruiserweight champion? Come on we would be better off.
LP: He is just down on his luck frank.
*The more Rawstarr seemed to try and stand to break the hold the harder Blackjack torqued the neck and shoulder of his small victim. Slowly Raw began to fade and the ref raised his hand once and it dropped to the mat. Twice with the same outcome. And three times the arm almost hit the mat hit landed on Blackjacks knee which was propped up. The ref seemed to look around a bit confused and Blackjack loosened the grip a bit glancing up toward the ref. This was just the opening Rawstarr needed as he drove a elbow back into Blackjacks face sending him flat to his can on the mat. Rawstarr rose to his feet shaking his arm a bit and bolted toward the ropes. Blackjack was up to his feet as Rawstarr came flying toward him and jumped into a hurricanrana but Blackjack grabbed Rawstarr's legs and lifted tossing him behind him. Rawstarr lands hard on the mat and slides through the middle and top rope. As Rawstarr was in mid fall Blackjack turned to punch and knock Rawstarr off the apron but Rawstarr being so small and fast was able to grasp the rope and grimaces as the ropes burnt his hands and spun driving his feet in a modified dropkick into the gut of Blackjack before settling on the apron.*
FJ:......where did this guy come from?!
LP: He is the Cruiserweight champion,. Get your head out of the gutter and get with the events.
*Blackjack falling backwards stunned from the sudden attack from Rawstarr and Rawstarr was back on the attack jumping to the top rope to springboard but Raw slipped bit and was not able to rebound at all hoping to come down inside the ring but Blackjack had another idea. As Rawstarr was almost sitting on the top rope Blackjack exploded crushing Rawstarr with a clothesline sending Raw falling to the hard floor below back first...WOW what a bump!*
LP:...Oh my god...Rawstarr may be dead..
FJ: Yes! Go Blackjack.
*Rawstarr lay motionless for a few moments but the whole arena seemed to explode when Raw started to roll. Blackjack being truly concerned had dropped down but when Raw started to move he quickly lifted the man and slide him into the ring. Slowly Blackjack began to climb the turnbuckle to the top rope maybe a little to slowly for most peoples tastes giving Rawstarr time to recover. Once Blackjack was on the top rope Raw had started to move a bit so Blackjack jumped for all he was worth attempting to hit his trademark move but Rawstarr using what strength he had left after the vicious wall jumped up catching him in mid air....*
FJ: NO!!!
LP: RAW EXECUTION!!!
*As Rawstarr landed driving Blackjacks head into the mat he slowly dragged himself toward Blackjack before draping his arm over Blackjacks prone body...ONE....TWO....THREE!!!*
LP: Rawstarr did it!
Ref: Your winner and STLL Cruiserweight champion...RAWSTARR!!!
FJ: "Go for a walk people while we go to the Shock matches, theres a lot more in store for tonight"
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time for us to start the semi finals matches in the King of the Kage Tournament.\par \par MK: ha this match should be a laugh, but I kind of feel bad for Razor, he is going to get mauled.\par \par
HS: You don\rquote t know that, Razor is one tough kid.\par \par MK: What kind of dream world are you living in Summers.\par \par
HS: Lets just watch the match Mark.\par \par (\lang4105\fs24 The lights go off. Then When Darkness Falls-Killswitch Engage begins to play. The tron lights up with a fire burning out. Out of the Ashes rises Razor. Red and black strobe lights start flashing. Razor walks onto the ramp and black and red flames light the stage and walkway to the ring. Razor pauses looking at the crowd then heads to the ring sliding under the ropes. Razor then takes his position in the far corner and gets into a state of readiness waiting and almost Willing his opponent to come out. Razors music fades and The lights go out. As the ominous opening chords begin to build, after a long pause, a single blue light falls on the ramp way. Smoke billows from the entrance creating an ominous haze that hides the 7 footer, all we see is his silhouette walking down the ramp. The light leads Williams slightly so we never actually see him until the lights come back on when he has reached the ring. The second the lights come back on Williams charges towa! rds Razor and drops him with a big boot. The ref calls for the bell and Williams pulls Razor back to his feet.)\par \par MK: This is great, Williams looks like he is in a bad mood, this one could be over quick.\par \par
HS: The match has only just begun Mark, I think there is a lot more to come.\par \par MK: Don\rquote t be na\'efve Summers, Razor is in trouble, he best hope Williams puts him out of his misery quick.\par \par (Williams quickly hoists Razor up into the air and with a show of power presses him up over his head, then lets him down and presses him up again. He lets him down and then presses him up one more time.)\par \par
HS: What a sick display of strength there from Williams, that is insane, Razor is not a small man.\par \par MK: Did you expect anything less, he is not the greatest world Champion ever for nothing.\par \par (Williams finally drops Razor from the press slam and Razor falls hard on the mat. Williams turns and looks at the fallen Razor and begins to laugh. He then moves in and pulls him back to his feet, only to send him back to the mat with a brutally violent clothesline. Williams then puts his right boot on the chest of Razor and tells the ref to count which he does 1.\'85 Kick Out by Razor.)\par \par
HS: Come one, Williams did not really expect to beat Razor like that did he?\par \par MK: He would have if he had not allowed Razor to get up.\par \par
HS: Are we even watching the same match, or are you making one up in your head?\par \par MK: I just know what I am watching Summers.\par \par (Williams looks down at Razor who is now trying to get up. Williams puts his boot on Razors head and goes to push him back down only to be caught with a low blow from Razor. Williams falls to a knee, and the ref says a few words to Razor about the low blow. Razor ignores him and uses the ropes to pull himself back to his feet. He then turns and hit\rquote s a drop kick to the side of the head of the kneeling Williams, and this knocks the big man the rest of the way to the mat. Razor seizes this opportunity and drives a falling elbow into the chest of Williams. HE repeats this twice more and then covers 1.\'852... Kick Out by Williams.)\par \par
HS: The tides have turned thanks to what I like to call the great equalizer.\par \lang1033\fs20\par MK: You mean thanks to Razor Cheating!\par \par
HS: Mark I have watched Brian Williams do such things repeatedly, and you always condone it, what is different this time.\par \par MK: Just watch the match Summers.\par \par (Razor climbs back to his feet and instantly heads for the top rope. Once he reaches the top he looks down at Williams who is starting to get up. Razor waits for Williams to reach his feet and then he jumps. He nails Williams with a hard double axe handle. Williams stumbles back and falls to a knee. Razor then turns to the wobbling Williams and grabs him from behind by the shoulders and then locks in a sleeper. Williams senses this and climbs back to his feet to try and fight loose. With Williams standing up Razor is forced to climb onto his back, but he still keeps the hold locked in tight. But Williams almost out of desperation begins to back pedal hard and drives Razors back into the turnbuckle which causes him to release the hold and crumble to the mat. Williams then still groggy stalks over to the downed Razor. Williams pulls the fallen Razor back to his feet and drags him towards the centre of the ring. There Williams locks Razor in an inverted side headlock.)\par \par
HS: I think I know where this is going, Williams is going for Blinded Fate. If he hits this Razor will be finished.\par \par MK: Just like I said all along, why do you doubt me Summers, I am never wrong.\par \par
HS: HE has not hit the move yet Mark.\par \par (Williams whips back and pulls Razor to the mat in even flow ddt fashion.)\par \par MK: You were saying Summers\'85. Goodnight Razor.\par \par
HS: Here comes the count.\par \par (Williams rolls Razor over and hooks the leg. The ref gets into position and counts 1.\'852.\'853!!!!)\par \par MK: Bam, match over.\par \par
HS: Folks that\rquote s true, Brian Williams has won this one and is now the first person to qualify for the King of the Kage finals. Who will he face we will find out shortly.\par \pard\kerning0\f1\par }
MK: And now its time for us to find out who Williams opponent is in the finals."
HS: "I agree with this, Haunt and Shadows."
(The bell rings and Haunt comes out and offers a handshake, however Draven spits on Haunt's hand. Haunt seems to be on fire after this. He rocks Draven with several hard rights and then whips him to the ropes. Draven comes back to him and Haunt delivers a roundhouse that floors Draven. Haunt then quickly moves in and starts to stomp Draven, before he then lands an elbow drop. Haunt seems pleased with himself and he poses to the fans. This gives Draven an opportunity to get up. Draven is now on his feet and then he starts to land his own right hands. After three Haunt falls to the canvas, and now Draven starts to stomp Haunt, before landing an elbow drop of his own. Draven does not pose however and goes straight to work. He has centered his attack on the back of Haunt's neck. He sits him up and then delivers a hard kick into the spinal column of Haunt. Haunt writhe! s in pain, and Draven picks him up and delivers a sideslam that forces the wind out of Haunt. Draven gets up and walks around momentarily.) \par \par
HS: "Umm, Frank is he talking to himself again?" \par \par MK: "Well, Herb he is talking to someone, and he is the only one there, so it would be obvious." \par \par
HS: "It was a rhetorical question." \par \par MK: "Did you just call me retarded?" \par \par
HS: "sigh" \par \par (Draven seems to be finished talking to himself now and has gone back on the offensive. He whips Haunt to the ropes and then as Haunt is coming back he nails him with the clothesline from hell. He goes for the pin... 1\'85.. 2.... but Haunt kicks out easily. Draven then looks backwards and starts screaming at himself, he is telling himself to shut up.) \par \par
HS: "Alright, it is official, Draven has completely lost it." \par \par MK: "I believe you are right this time\'85 nice job, ugly." \par \par
HS: "Would you quit calling me ugly and just call the match." \par \par (As Draven is arguing with himself Haunt gets up and recovers. He stands back and watches the antics of Draven, he gives a strange look before charging and landing a high drop kick. Haunt then picks up Draven and whips him to the ropes again and lands the same roundhouse. Haunt then picks up Draven again, floats around him and locks in a beautiful Dragon Sleeper. He then drops to a reverse DDT. And again. And again. Finally Haunt goes for the pin 1\'85\'85. 2\'85.. but Draven kicks out. Haunt heads to the top rope but Draven catches him before he can manage to leap. Draven throws a few punches and stalls Haunt's attempts. Draven goes up after Haunt. The two fight it out above the ring, finally Haunt comes out on top, and delivers a top rope Belly to Belly suplex.) \par \par
HS: "Oh dear, that was incredible." \par \par MK: "You make this too easy, Herb, but hey, it was pretty good." \par \par (Draven seems to be out of it right now. Haunt then reaches down and picks up Draven who is barely moving. Haunt hits the ropes and then goes for a bulldog, but Draven is too fresh and easily throws Haunt off and into the ropes. Both men circle and then Draven charges towards Haunt who ducks and pulls the top rope down with him. Draven topples over the ropes and onto the concrete. Haunt takes advantage by leaping outside and on top of Draven. Both men lay there momentarily until Haunt then jumps up. He picks up Draven as the ref starts the count. He whips Draven into the steel stairs and as Draven is laying over top of the stairs, Haunt breaks the count. He then goes outside again, and jumps up on to the barricade. He leaps off and attempts a missile drop kick onto Draven while he is on the stairs, but Draven moves.) \par \par MK: "I think Haunt's jump blew a knee!" \par \par
HS: "I think you're right, did you see the way he landed, you could see that knees buckle sideways, and now he is grasping that knee and looks to be in severe pain." \par \par (Draven grabs Haunt by the hair and throws him inside the ring. He then stalks over him and then starts arguing with himself again, before starting to stomp Haunt's already injured knee. Draven takes his time realizing that Haunt is having a hard time standing. Draven casually walks over to the corner and starts to taunt the fans, and then he starts to taunt himself.) \par \par
HS: "Well, Frank you have to admit that Haunt has heart, he is getting up although he is on one leg." \par \par MK: "But more importantly, look at Draven, I think he wants to fight himself." \par \par (Draven then sees Haunt up and mobile. He goes running at him and before Haunt can do anything he dives towards him and drives his shoulder into Haunts knee. We see Haunt clutch it again as he falls and rolls around on the canvas. Draven seems satisfied but wants to add more damage. He grabs Haunt's legs and rolls him over into the Boston Crab. Haunt screams in pain but Draven releases the hold. He picks Haunt up and starts to taunt Haunt now. Haunt is wearily standing on one leg. However, as Draven is taunting Haunt, Haunt throws a right and catches Draven in the jaw, as Draven turns around he gets hit with a cradle Piledriver.) \par \par
HS: If Haunt can get there in time, he may have this match won!" \par \par MK: "No, come on Draven, get up! Get up!" \par \par (Haunt slowly drags himself over to Draven and after a long time has passed he gets there and goes for the pin. 1.......... 2.......... NO!!!!! Draven has got his foot on the ropes and Haunt and the entire crowd gasp.) \par \par MK: "I knew he would kick out." \par \par
HS: "That was great ring presence, and showed a lot of heart by Draven as well." \par \par (Haunt tries to continue the assault but Draven goes low again and drives his weight into Haunt's knee again. Haunt hits the ground hard and this time he is not getting up, he is screaming in pain and the ref seems to want to stop the match. Haunt tries to get up and Draven allows him. Yet as Haunt fails to get up, Draven starts to laugh at him and then kicks Haunts knee again. He walks in to pick Haunt up and finish him, however Haunt goes for the small package. 1.......... 2..........3! No! Draven just kicks out. Draven makes his way over to Haunt who is still hardly able to move and pulls him to his feet. Draven backs Haunt into the corner and takes a few steps back Draven charges and drives an elbow into the chin of Haunt who falls back to a seated position on the mat resting against the corner. Draven begins to hammer away on the almost defenceless Haunt but the ref steps in and tries to tell Draven to open his hand. But in the process an errant elbow from Shadows ca! tches the ref and drops him unconscious to the mat.)\par \lang1033\fs20\par
HS: OH my, Draven just hit the ref, and he is out.\par \par (Draven reaches down and grabs Haunt and pulls him to his feet. Draven then hauls back and begins to bring a right hand toward Haunts chin when Haunt spews his blue mist right in the face of Draven. Draven stumbles back rubbing his eyes and Haunt uses this time to recuperate before pushing Draven back into the corner and delivering a Tornado DDT.)\par \par MK: Misty Blue, good night Shadows.\par \par
HS: But Mark, there is no ref, this one would be over.\par \par MK: Look Summers, another red, Cover him Haunt.\par \par (Haunt covers the un conscious Shadows as ref slides into the ring and counts immediately. 1.\'852.\'853!!!!)\par \par
HS: Haunt has done it, he has advanced into the finals of the King of the Kage Tournament, where he will meet Brian Williams.\par \par MK: Now that will be a match to watch, but Williams will still win.\par \par
HS: I would not be to sure about that, Haunt seems to be more than ready tonight, and I would bet that he wants this bad.\par \par MK: Why do you doubt Brian Williams Summers? He always wins, always.\par \par
HS: Whatever. Folks we will see that match very soon, and we will see who will win the 2004 King of the Kage Title
LP: Well ladies and Gentlemen here we go with the World Title match up on the Xplosion side tonight The Icon John Williams defends his title against End Gay."
FJ: "I don’t know which one I would rather see with the title. Preferably neither, I wish Low would come back to take it."
(Two towers of confetti shoot up from either side of the ramp, three shots from each, before a huge blast of golden pyro rocks the stage. Sparks shower down upon the stage from above, in a rainbow of colors, as "Miss Independant" by Kelly Clarkson hits over the speakers. The lights glow a bright pink, and EG strides down the aisle to the ring, with a grin of confidence..)
FJ: "What a tool."
LP: "A tool with the chance to become World Champion Frank."
(The crowd erupts as the lights dim and "Renegade Hero" by Forever and a Day strikes up. A mass of chaotically flashing red and white flash about the MCI Centre. The roof gets almost blown off as John Williams makes hi s way to the ring.)
LP: "The crowd is electric tonight folks."
FJ: "WHAT!!!???"
LP: "I said the crowd…"
FJ: "I can’t hear you Porter"
(As Williams makes his way into the ring the ref takes the belt, and shows it off, as the crowd noise dies down a little. Williams and EG, meet in the center of the ring. The bell rings, and things get started as Williams locks up with the much larger man. EG pushes Williams into the corner, and then hauls off and delivers one of the most devastating bitch slaps ever seen or heard. Williams grabs his chest in pain, and EG tees off with another series of kicks and slaps, before finally poking Williams in the eye.)
LP: "An interesting game plan, but I don’t think slapping and poking one of the games greatest players, is going to get him a win."
FJ: "Its working so far."
(The referee breaks EG’s game plan when he forces EG back, Williams grabs his eye and shakes it off. It looks as though this has infuriated Williams. EG starts to come back towards him, but now Williams start to tee off with right hands, and then lefts and then both. EG, starts to back himself across the ring, and now he gets into the corner and tries to cover up as Williams reins down the punches. The ref now breaks this as well, but Williams grabs hold and pulls EG from the corner. He stands him up and leaps delivering a dropkick into EG’s chest. This knocks EG into the ropes, as he rebounds forward Williams delivers another dropkick that has the same result.)
LP: "Williams just cant seem to get the big man down."
FJ: "The collective will of every man in this arena couldn’t stop this fruitcake from going down on someone."
LP: " Frank that was uncalled for, although possibly true."
(Williams charges EG, and clotheslines him as he is backed against the ropes, EG topples over backwards as does Williams and the men are on the floor. The ref starts the count, and we get to 5 before Williams slides back into the ring, breaking the count. He slides back out only to get caught with a low blow, EG smiles seductively towards Williams, and then picks him up high above his head, and uses the barricade as a weapon dropping Williams throat first, and then rolling him back into the ring. EG slides under the ropes, just barely making I may add. Williams writhes on the ground as EG stands up and drops a huge elbow drop, that drives anything left in JW out of him. EG decides that he wants to try and end it quickly as he tries for a cover. 1.…… 2.……… a kick out by Williams.)
LP: "A premature attempt by End Gay right there."
FJ: "Too early simply too early."
(EG, picks up JW and then whips him into the ropes, as Williams bounces back, EG damn near takes his head off with a big boot. Williams hits ground and lays motionless as EG decides that he wants to take flight. He starts to climb the turnbuckle. Once atop the turnbuckle the big man looks around. He turns on the turnbuckle, facing the crowd, who have done silent in anticipation of what we may see.)
LP: "Don’t tell me…"
FJ: "He is five hundred pounds, no way could this be true."
(The crowd gasps as End Gay leaps backwards completing a moonsault, barely I may add. He crashes down onto John Williams whom is completely out by the looks of it. EG hurts himself a little from the impact, and is very slow to get to his feet. End Gay capitalizes on the downed Williams he lifts him to his feet and whips him into the corner, he follows in attempting a splash but Williams gets a foot up out of desperation. EG smashes his face into JW’s size 14 and falls backwards. JW then drops an elbow, and then another.)
LP: " The Icon making a comeback."
(Williams climbs the turnbuckle now and awaits Gay to get back up. He leaps with a huge flying clothesline that takes EG down. Williams covers. 1.…….2.……….½!!!")
(EG kicks out and Williams again takes the offence to the big man, he delivers a number of forearm shivers, and mounts EG from behind, getting him into the corner before attempting "The Time to Shine" EG is still too strong though and he throws Williams off his back. Eg then comes crashing down on top of him with a big splash.)
LP: "Oh no End Gay is claiming that this is all over…."
FJ: "Oh god I feel so sorry for Williams."
(EG whips Williams in to the corner but the ref gets caught in between the bodies. EG comes bearing down, with his lips ready. He tries to make contact with JW, who snaps out with the ensuing thought of whats going to happen. He immediately begins to kick EG right in the nether regions. The big man drops to one knee and screams, errr…something like that… Williams gets on to the corner post. And As End Gay eventually gets up, he grabs his head again this time executing the "Time to Shine" The twisting Reverse DDT flattens End Gay, and Williams get the 1.2.3.)
LP: "Unbelievable and just like that this one is over.""
FJ: "End Gay took our Champ to the limit tonight…"
LP: Here we go for out second World Title match tonight. Dave Santini and Misery square off next, over to you Herb.
HS: "Thank you Larry. Yes this is the moment when a legend faces off against a man trying to become a legend, and its for the World title."
MK:! A shot at the Shock AWA World Championship title is what the King of the Kage is all about for the men from the Shock roster. We have the current champion, Jayson "Misery" Price defending his title against former champion and hall of fame shoe in Dave Santini trying to regain the title for his second run as champion."
HS: "Misery wont let that happen with out a fight though."
MK: "These men haven’t had much to say to each other leading up to this match. I don’t know what to think of this as both of these men have been known to be vocal in the past. But what they had to say to each other, left a lot to be desired when Price commented on his character."
(A clip from Jayson Price plays on the AWA screen. "This is not be a battle of honor, it will be w ar of attitution. Dave thinks everyone should respect him because of what he has accomplished in the AWA yet he doesn't give out any respect in return. Dave, in my short tenure, in comparison to you, in the AWA I have accomplished as much as you have. I have defeated most of the top superstars put before me, I have won the world, hardcore, cruiserweight, and television championships. Does this mean I don't respect Dave Santini, from from it, I do respect the skills of Dave Santini, no one wins the world championship and survives in the AWA for years without an immense amount of skill. However your skills in the ring are drawfed by your skills in other areas. Your skills in the areas of lies and deceit are where you truly shine isn't it Dave?)
HS: "The champion seems to have Dave Santini pegged doesn’t he?"
MK: "I think he really does, but Santinit had a few words of his own. Not to mention, he has the AWA World Title in his possession. The pure arrogance and disrespect that it takes to pull this kind of stunt could only come from Dave Santini."
(The screen comes alive again and a clip from Dave Santini’s last interview is shown. Your career has been nothing but a joke compared to mine. You think that a sneak attack that cost me my United States Title, a single victory over Brian Williams, a handful of victories over Jayson Price and a win in the AWA Rookie Brawl, a Rookie Brawl that I created as AWA Commissioner no less would put you in the same category as Dave Santini then you are very much mistaken and that under estimation will be your downfall in just 24 hours time. The fact that you feel you are so much better than what you really are, the fact that you think you even deserve the right to even step inside the same ring as Dave Santini, let alone compare to, the fact that you have convinced yourself that my career has been made up by "lies and deceit", the face that you seriously think that everything that I have achieved in the AWA has been achieved because of who I have surrounded myself with rather than who I am will all compound tomorrow night when I beat, batter and bruise you inside that very ring. Maybe then you will realise exactly who you are dealing with, maybe then it will dawn on you that you can no way compete with a legend such as Dave"The Rave" Santini and that you are more out of your depth as a reigning AWA World Champion more that any man that has ever gone before you.)
HS: "This match is about respect. The legendary AWA veteran and the future hall of famer will clash tonight!"
("Pour Some Sugar On Me", by Def Leppard plays over the loudspeaker and the lights go out. About fifteen seconds later, the arena is filled with red lights, before two red beams come to rest on the figure of Dave Santini at the top of the ramp, before a massive explosion gets set off. He wears black & red wrestling pants, black elbow pads and black boots. He wears a black & red cloak with "Santini" printed on the back, which he always removes to wrestle, displaying his immense physique and toned body. He raises the world title high over his head and the fans respond with a resounding booo. He makes his way to the ring with Lethal Louise at his side. The fans boo them loudly as they walk the aisle. Santini climbs into the ring and Louise motions him to bend down. He receives a kiss from his wife. He removes the cloak and world title and hands them to her.)
HS: "Always at his side, Lethal Louise is the X-factor any time you face her husband, Santini. These two are some of the trickiest characters in the AWA and you almost need to have eyes in the back of your head to come out unscathed."
("What comes Around" by Ill Nino plays and Misery emerges at the top of the ramp. He dresses all in black. He wears a black t shirt, black tights, black cowboy boots, black elbow pads, and a black mask. There is also a red blood like streak that runs down his shirt and onto his tights. Jayson has a black goatee and long stringy black hair. He stalks toward the ring as the fans are on their feet cheering the world champion.)
MK: "The champion coming to the ring to defend his title. Not to mention regain possession of it."
(Price enters the ring and Santini looks down his nose at the Shock Champion. The bell sounds and the two men circle. Santini challenges Price to a test of strength and Price takes it. The two men interlace their fingers and attempt to get the better of the other. They lean in shoulder to shoulder. Each man momentarily gets the better of the other, but at the first opportunity Santini sends a low knee. Price is weakened by the cheap shot and Santini takes him over with a belly-to-belly suplex. Price goes down but quickly rolls to his feet. Santini meets him with a series of chops to the chest driving him backward. Price retaliates with a stiff kick to the midsection halting the onslaught of chops. Price follows up with three quick forearm shots to the face. He pulls Santini in for a T-bone suplex. Santini goes down hard. Santini springs back to his feet quickly and tries to shake of the effects. The two men charge forward and lock up collar and elbow.)
HS: "These are two wrestlers in the truest definition and this one will serve as a clinic for all."
(Santini takes the advantage and puts Price into a headlock. Santini turns his back to the referee and throws some rapid punches to the face staggering Price. He releases the headlock and catches Price with a series of elbows to the back of the head. Price goes down to one knee. Santini goes to pull Price up and is tackled to the ground. Price mounts him and land some solid punches of his own before the referee breaks it up, warning Price in the process. Santini climbs to his feet and winks at Price mocking his being lectured by the referee. Santini charges in with a short clothesline, but Price counters it into a Fujiwara armbar. Santini grimaces in pain as Price cranks back applying pressure to the arm. Santini struggles and is able to drape his foot over the bottom rope to force the break. Santini climbs to his feet and shakes his arm trying to regain feeling. Price charges forward Santini locks up with him but soon takes the upper hand with a thumb to the eye. Santini hoists him up into a vertical suplex. Santini scrambles and applies Boston crab to Price. Price grimaces in his clutches and begins to struggle toward the ropes. Louise climbs up on the apron on the other side of the ring and cheers her husband on. The referee immediately goes to remove her from the apron just as Price reaches the ropes. Santini drags Price away from the ropes and redoubles the pressure. Louise leaves the apron after the referee warns her away. Price grimacing has stopped his progress toward the ropes as the pain overtakes him. The fans chant his name and he seems to snap out of his momentary lapse in strength. Santini shakes his head no as he tries desperately to keep him from the ropes. Price reaches the ropes once more and the referee forces the break. Price feels the effects of the maneuver on his back and climbs to his feet stiffly.)
MK: "Santini and Louise are proving to be exactly why they are such a threat in the AWA. Price’s back has already sustained injury early on in this match up."
(Back in the ring, Santini charges forward but is caught with a stiff kick in the midsection. Price sends a series of stiff kicks catching Santini, before executing a hanging neckbreaker. Santini holds his neck in pain. He climbs to his feet and Price immediately locks up with Santini. He goes to pull Santini up into a suplex, but he counters it preventing the move. Santini sends a knee to the midsection doubling Price. Santini executes a brainbuster DDT and Price is down. Santini goes for a quick cover 1.2.and Price kicks out.
(Santini is whipped into the ropes by Price and is caught coming off with a one hand backbreaker. He falls to the mat holding his back and writhing in pain as Price wastes no time applying the Fujiwara armbar. Santini's face flushes with pain as he struggles to free himself. The fans start a tap chant and Santini furiously shakes his head no. In response, Santini struggles all the more harder and gets to the ropes.)
HS: Price seems to be focusing on that arm. Maybe he believes that by doing so, he lessons the likelihood of The Ravin'Driver? You can't lift and hold a man in that position with on arm.
MK: Santini has many weapons that could be nullified by a broken wing. Power wrestling is at the core of his style.
(Price doesn't allow Santini time to recover and immediately begins to pound on the shoulder with forearm shots. Santini attempts to stagger away but Price follows him deliver blow after blow. Price gets a bit too close and Santini sends a mule kick that buckles his knees. Santini turns around and whips Price to the ropes catching him with a big backdrop. Price lands hard. Santini delivers a viscous leg drop across the throat. It is Santini's turn to apply a submission hold, as he applies the Boston Crab once more. Price struggles in the hold as the fans begin to stomp their feet and chant Price's name. The referee checks on the champion as he can't seem to budge Santini. The referee asks him if he wants to submit)
Price: "NO! NO! Never!"
(Santini has to adjust the hold with his weakened arm and Price manages to free himself at this instance. Price free now is able to grab Santini's leg and apply the rolling legbar. The men roll around the mat and Santini manages to reach out for the rope causing a break. Both men are slower to get to their feet. Price quickly springs forward and catches Santini with a stiff kick to the midsection before a sit out tombstone. He covers 1..2 and Santini kicks out. Louise is pounding the ring apron with her hand trying to energize her man. Price drops down and reapplies the Fujiwara armbar. Santini struggles....the referee asks him if he submits and he shakes his head no. Price has him in the center of the ring and there is seemingly a painful mile between the ropes and his present position. Santini rolls and struggles to free himself. Eventually, he is able to get to his feet and pull his arm free. He staggers away holding his arm. Price climbs back to his feet and goes after Santini again, but Santini quickly turns and goes to the eyes. He follows up with a jaw breaker that has Price stumbling away. Santini grabs him delivering several knee strikes to the head. Price is shaken and Santini with a DDT, before attempting a cover. 1..2..kickout)
MK: "Santini's arm looks like it is still bothering him, but he has been using other means of attack."
HS: "Santini is going for the Boston Crab but catches a boot to the face."
(Undeterred he goes for the pin again and gets the same result this time, he is forced away. Price scrambles to his feet and hits the ropes. Santini sees him coming and tries to take his head off with a short clothesline, but Price ducks under. He catches Santini in the Full Nelson. He takes Santini turning the hold into a suplex and a pin attempt. The referee calls for the break because Santini lands with his legs in the ropes. Price back up begins to send those stiff kicks into the arm and shoulder of Santini, before applying the cross armbreaker. Santini reels backward on his heels and craddles his arm. A belly-to-belly suplex puts Santini down. Price pulls Santini up and goes to whip him into the ropes, but Santini manages to reverse it. Santini catches him coming off with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Price takes a few steps before collapsing, as Louise cheers once more. The referee is looks closely at Santini as his arm seems to be dangling limply at his side. He questions Santini if he can continue. Angrily, Santini shoves him out of the way. He drives the knee into the side of Price's head for good measure before pulling him up. Santini whips Price into the corner turnbuckles before delivering a running corner splash. Santini grabs a hand full of hair and pulls him out of the corner tossing him roughly to the mat. Santini climbs the turnbuckles and delivers a diving top rope elbow. But at the last minute, Price rolls out of the way. Santini's already injured arm makes contact with the mat and he writhes in pain.)
MK: "Both men are down! Santini looks to be in some real pain. Price is trying to clear his head and is now on his knees."
(Price is still down as Santini struggles to the ropes using them to climb to his feet. Suddenly, out of the crowd, we see a man in a black camouflaged mask and military fatigues come out of the crowd. He violently shoves Louise out of the way and she spills to the ground.)
HS: "I can’t believe what I am seeing? That looks like former Hardcore Champion Nightmist! His history with Dave Santini is a bad one. I can’t believe he is here tonight at King of the Kage! What is he..?"
(As Santini, manages to get to his feet, Nightmist has crept around the ring apron and springs up. Connecting with a standing sidekick to the side of Santini’s face. Santini goes down like a ton of bricks.)
HS: "Nightmist using what undoubtedly are steel toe boots, if my memory serves me right!"
(Nightmist dropped off the apron immediately after the impact of the kick. He skulks away leaving a stunned audience and a seething Louise who has slowly gathered herself off of the cement floor. The referee looks around as Louise yells and points in the direction in which Nightmist disappeared. Price is up on one knee as Santini is on all fours attempting to get to his feet. He springs forward catching Santini as he is bending over and executes Life's Final Jest!! He covers 1..)
HS: "Price connected with his finisher! Oh..my.."
(The fans roar with approval 2....and count along as the referee slams his hand down 3!!)
(The champion has done it! He has retained his title. A ring attendant, who managed to grab it, while Lethal Louise was recovering from her hard fall, gives Price the title. Price holds his title high to the cheering fans!! He is unaware of the interference that aided in his victory.)
Cage Vignette….showcasing all the former KOTK winners
LP: 'And now the moment we've all been waiting for the finals of the King of the Kage tournament, this should be a great one, after all these two men have been through tonight, I'm amazed they're still going.
FJ: 'Two of my favorite stars in a cage I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, cause I know these guys are gonna kill each other. ('We Go Hard By Cam'Ron and DMX fills the arena, as The Dark Warrior, Jeff Christianson, makes his way down to the ring, the fans having seen DW go through hell tonight, raise a ragged cheer, even though they don't like the man it's clear they respect what he's been through to get to this point. He slides into the ring, and looks up toward s the cage with an almost defiant gleam in his eyes. )
LP: 'Dark Warrior in the ring now, and the fans have come to respect him it seems, they might not care about him, but they've seen some amazing stuff come out of the man tonight. ('EMI by the Sex Pistols begins and Michael 'Spitfire Stevens makes his way down to the ring, almost limping. Battered and bruised from his early matches of the night, Stevens looks almost completely warn out. Upon getting to the ring, he slides inside, staring across at Dark Warrior, just waiting for the match to begin, the fans much like their cheer for DW seems to be mainly one of respect for athleticism rather than one of approval.)
LP: 'While it's clear this crowd doesn't like either man, it's a fan show of respect for them to cheer this way. Remember Frank this is Stevens last chance to accomplish something tonight as he failed in his attempt to gain Fish's IC title.
FJ: 'Yeah but Stevens still made it into the finals a feat Fish wishes he could have accomplished this should be great.
LP: 'Indeed it should, two final technical wrestlers with strong submission finishers, both might be a little out of their element in the cage here tonight, but this should still be a great match, I'm looking forward to it. (While Larry and Frank have been speaking the cage is slowly lowered, finally it surrounds the ring, and the bell sounds. Both men eye each other warily and begin to circle, just waiting for the right moment to strike. The two men lock up, and Stevens gains a quick advantage with a poke to the eye, he follows up with a go around and hits DW with a quick release German Suplex. Stevens goes for a quick pin, trying to get a quick victory, but DW kicks out in less than one, before popping back up to this feet. They lock up again, and this time it's DW gaining the advantage with an Irish whip sending Stevens into the ropes, DW catches him on the way back with an overhead release belly-to-belly suplex, but before he can go for a pin, Stevens is already up and ready to go again.)
LP: 'Some good early exchanges here as Christianson and Stevens try to feel each other out. (Again the two men go for a lock up, but Stevens catches DW with a boot to the midsection, and follows up with a front chancery. He holds on for a moment, before lifting DW up into a suplex, but DW slips out, and drops down behind Stevens and grabs a waste lock, he tries for a German, but Stevens blocks, once, twice, and three times before NAILING DW with a 'trick knee low blow, that sends DW down to the match clutching his genitals. Stevens follows up, by dropping down to one knee and locks on a rear chinlock. Stevens holds it for a minute, before nailing a couple hard forearms across the bridge of DW's nose busting him open the hard way. Stevens uses his leverage to push DW down to the mat, and trades in his chinlock for an armbar. He holds it briefly before pushing himself up really quickly and driving a knee into DW's shoulder, and another and another. DW writhes on the mat, and the ref asks if he wants to give up, but it's no go, DW refuses to tap out. Stevens then pulls DW up to this feet, and turns the armbar into a hammerlock, really cranking the move to add the extra pain. He then picks up DW uses the hammer locked arm as a lever, and drives DW back to the mat in a hammerlock body slam. Stevens goes down to pull up DW by the hair, but runs into an eye rack, which causes him to stumble back, DW gets up to his feet, and catches Stevens coming back in with a European uppercut that sends Spitfire reeling, into the ropes DW then charges in and nails Stevens with a clothesline, sending both men over the ropes. )
LP: 'And the action spills to the outside, just listen to this crowd buzz they're waiting for this match to begin in earnest.
FJ: Who ' the hell is Earnest and what does he have to do with this match, wake up Porter, the violence is about to start. (DW is first up to his feet, and grabs Stevens by the hair, before mashing his face into the cage, and rubbing it across the mesh, creating a cheese grater effect, blood begins pouring down the face of Stevens. Stevens however, sends an elbow back into DW's stomach, causing DW to break his grip, and follows it up, with a hiptoss into the cage. While DW is on the floor, Stevens begins laying in the quick boots, before picking up DW and sending him back into the ring. Stevens then goes searching under the ring, and comes up with a steel chair, however, DW has had plenty of time to get to his feet, and comes sailing over the top rope, sandwiching Stevens in between the chair, and the cage. Both men are in a heap, as the crowd cheers wildly for DW's big risk. The impact of the splash has torn the cage slightly, something DW notices almost immediately as he's getting to his feet.)
LP: 'Jeff seems to have abandoned his technical moves in favor of a more high risk and brutal method of attack on Stevens. If Spitfire wants to win here it looks like he's going to have to turn it up a notch. (Both men finally up to their feet, DW takes advantage of Stevens' moment of exhaustion and sends him into the cage and THROUGH the cage, finally coming to land painfully against the steel guard railing. DW steps gingerly through the ripped open cage, and then goes to charge Stevens but it doesn't pay off this time as Stevens catches, lifts him up and drops him throat first across the guardrail. Stevens is breathing heavily, and heads over to the cage, scaling the thing in an attempt to get away from DW who's still stunned from his up close and personal encounter with the railing. Stevens makes it to the top, before collapsing in an attempt to catch his breath. Meanwhile on the floor, DW has recovered and is now looking for Stevens, he sees him on top of the cage and begins scaling it himself. Stevens however gets to his feet, and waits for DW, just as Christianson's head pops up, Stevens nails him in the face with a soccer style kick. Blood flies from DW's mouth, and one of his hands slip, leaving him hanging from the cage by only one hand. He attempts to grab the cage again but Stevens kicks his hand away, laughing evilly. DW hangs precariously for a moment, before Stevens drives his foot down on DW's hanging causing him to scream in pain. Stevens grinds down on the hand, clearly trying to break it.)
FJ: "I think we may see Dark Warrior fall here."
LP: "That’s a long ways down."
(DW manages to swing himself upwards grabbing his other hand upon the cage. Stevens becomes frustrated and pulls him all the way up now. As DW grabs his hand in pain. Stevens hooks in a gargoyle suplex, and launches him over head with such. DW rolls along the caged top. As Stevens runs towards him trying to finish it quickly. DW is up by the time Stevens gets to him, the crimson mass that has adorned both of their faces is accented with the backdrop that DW lands, causing Stevens to go plummeting through the caged surface to the canvas below. The crowd breaks into a holy shit chant.)
LP: "Look at the carnage Frank, look at the carnage!!!!"
FJ: "Look at Dark Warrior, what the hell is he thinking?!?!?!!?!?"
LP &
FJ: "NO!!!!"
(Dark Warrior goes to the gaping hole in the cage, he looks around and then leaps delivering High Death from the top of the cell. Stevens goes completely limp from the impact, and DW bounces off of him, but his arm remains on top of him. The referee counts. 1.……..2.…………3!!!!"
LP: "Dark Warrior has done it. He will meet John Williams at Classic."
FJ: "Just like I said Dark Warrior Jeff Christianson is your King of the Kage."
(The scene fades out as Dark Warrior lays motionless still on top of Stevens. We see a commercial advertising AWA Classic for 2004. Whilst this plays crews work to fix the cell.)
(Flames shoot from the entrance ramp toward the ceiling as sirens are heard. Then Burn Hollywood Burn begins as Haunt slowly walks out dressed in black jeans/shirt/and boots. He has a torch in hand he leans back and spews forth a mist into the flame effectively blowing fire in front of him. Haunt then methodically makes his way to the ring, and once there walks up the steps and climbs into the cage. He looks around at the hellacious structure and then heads over to the far side and leans against the ropes and cage. His music fades and The lights go out. Williams looks across the ring at Haunt and the two come together immediately and the bell rings)
HS: Well both men seem eager to get this one going. MK: Well it is both men’s third match tonight, they probably want to get it out of the way as soon as possible
HS: That could be Mark. MK: Of course it is Summers, am I ever wrong? (The two men trade shots momentarily before the much bigger Williams gets the quick advantage. He backs Haunt into the corner and then with force whips him across the ring. Haunt hit’s the opposite turn buckle hard and drops to the mat clutching his back.)
HS: My god what a whip, he damn near broke Haunt in half. MK: And that Summers, is what makes Brian Williams so great. ( Williams stalks Haunt waiting for him to get up. As he does Williams takes a step and drops Haunt again with a big boot that catches him square on the jaw. Wiliams then quickly pulls Haunt to his feet and proceeds to run Haunts face into the cage. Haunt again drops like a rock and Williams drives an elbow into his chest and then hooks the leg for a cover, the ref gets into position and counts 1.…2... Kick Out!)
HS: Wow, almost over before it started. Haunt appears to be busted open from the shot he took off the cage. MK: Yeah, well that is the joy of a steel cage match. Someone always bleeds.
HS: Well, as sick as it is that you enjoy that, I do have to agree that someone, usually anyone involved ends up a bloody mess. (Williams glares at the ref but goes right back to work. He pulls Haunt back to his feet and scoops him up onto his shoulder. He turns him around and begins to run towards the far side.)
HS: OH my, he is gonna try and put Haunt right through the kage. This could be a mess. MK: Do it, tear him apart. (Just as Williams and Haunt reach the cage Haunt slides off of Williams shoulder and lands on his feet behind him. Haunt then uses Williams own momentum to make the 7 footer taste the cold steel himself. Williams staggers back and is dropped by a Haunt Chop block. Haunt is quick to capitalize when he pulls Williams back to his feet and pushes him into the corner facing the cage. Haunt then climbs the ropes from the outside locks Williams into a dragon sleeper and falls backwards driving the monsters head into the canvas.)
HS: Wow, what a high impact move by Haunt, this could be it. (Haunt quickly flips around and hooks the leg of Williams. The ref slides into position and counts 1...2... Kick Out)
HS: So close, Haunt almost pinned the former world Champion right there. MK: Williams is fine, he is just allowing Haunt a good showing.
HS: Must you always count everyone out when they are facing Williams, do you not remember just one month ago. When Jayson Price beat Brian Williams? MK: That was a fluke, Price could never do that again. (Haunt does not let the near fall phase him. He jumps to his feet and heads back over to the corner, he then proceeds to un tie the turn buckle pad and pull it off exposing the hard steel buckle. He turns back to Williams who is just now starting to get up. Haunt grabs the groggy Williams and leads him over and drives his face right into the exposed steel of the turnbuckle. Williams falls back and almost instantly the blood begins to run from the forehead of Williams.)
HS: And now Williams is bleeding and the ring is going to be a mess. MK: I love the blood, I don’t know why, but it makes things much more interesting and fun to watch. (Haunt drops a leg across the chest of Williams and then rolls over hooks the leg and covers, the ref hit’s the mat and counts 1.…2.… Kick Out by Williams)
HS: Another near fall, but again Williams gets out just in time. (Haunt takes a quick look up and the ref but turns quickly back to Williams and begins to pull him to his feet. But as Williams is coming up he drills Haunt below the belt causing Haunt to fall to the ground clutching his groin. Williams still slightly fazed from the bell ringer off of the turnbuckle stumbles slightly reaching his feet. Once he is back up he regains his composure and heads over to Haunt who is climbing to his feet. Williams quickly locks Haunt into a front face lock and then drops driving him into the mat with a punishing DDT.)
HS: Well Brian Williams pulled one out of the bag there and is back in control. MK: Yes he is Herb, but hey, things could change again, oh wait, no they can’t Williams should be done toying with him now. (Williams rolls Haunt over and covers, but he is still a little groggy so he does not hook a leg, the ref gets into position and counts 1.….2.…. Kick Out by Haunt. Williams rolls off and pulls himself up and then grabs Haunt and pulls him up as well. Williams backs Haunt into the corner and then drives a back elbow into his chest. He follows it up with another and then another. Williams then takes three steps back and comes forward with a kick to the face of Haunt, but at the last Minute almost out of instinct Haunt drops to the mat and Williams gets his foot hung up on the top rope just long enough for Haunt to catch him with a hard low blow of his own. He then grabs Williams before he falls and begins to drive his face into the cage. Williams bounces off the cold steel four times before Haunt lets him go and Williams falls)
HS: And another turn in this match, how much more do these two men have? MK: Well for the first time I am beginning to doubt slightly that Williams has what it takes to pull this out.
HS: Funny. MK: No jokes this time. (Haunt looks at the fallen Williams for a moment almost as if he is looking for the answer. He then heads over and pulls Williams to his feet. He pulls him over to the corner and sets him up on the top rope. Haunt then climbs up after him, he hooks him into a front face lock and pulls him up so that both men are standing on the top turnbuckle.)
HS: What is Haunt planning here? MK: I don’t know Summers, but it has the looks of being nasty and match ending.
HS: You might be right….LOOK OUT!!!!!!! (Haunt musters all his strength and lifts the massive Williams into the air but instead of allowing him to travel all the way over he gets him straight vertical and then drops with a ring rocking Super Brain Buster.)
HS: MY GOD…..MY GOD….. MARK DID YO SEE THAT? MK: Williams may be dead,. There is no way he is getting up from that. (Haunt almost knocking himself out in the process throws and arm over the unconscious Williams and the ref gets into position, and as he counts the crowd counts along with him 1.….2.………….3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
HS: He did it, Haunt has pinned Brian Williams, Haunt is the King of the Kage, Haunt will go on to Classic in August and face the World Champion, and my god look at the carnage. MK: I cant believe it… Haunt has beat Brian Williams, I never saw this coming, but hey, I guess sometimes things happen.
HS: Folks that’s it for us here on Shock tonight, we will see you next Sunday, don’t miss it….. GOOD NIGHT!
