AWA OVERPOWER 2003, October 6th, 2003, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mellon Arena
(We open with a shot of the sold-out Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. The screen then goes black and we see the letters "AWA" flashing across our screen. Then a deep voice starts talking...)
"...It's the beginning of a new season..."
(We see a beautiful white beach, the sun is shining. But suddenly, the beach turns black. We see a forrest, the brown leaves are falling, it is raining.)
"...Everything old is new again..."
(Scenes of Dave Santini and Nash are shown. We see them attacking Mortis Valley... then M-Tank... then Sean Steele... Finally, we hear Santini and Nash speak.)
SANTINI: "I will not sit back and watch Mortis Valley destroy everything that Travis Gray spend his entire life building... The journey will begin. AWA Overpower! The night where each and every one of you can pause your pathetic, meaningless existences and watch the "Future of the AWA" begin THAT path, but the question surely is, which man is unlucky enough to have that pleasure. Which man will be the unfortunate "one" that has been picked to fail... has been picked to be destroyed."
NASH: "I am above all an animal and will savagely take what I want. There will not be a fight, there will be a slaughter at my hands."
"...Tonight, in a Hardcore Rules Match, Dave "The Rave" Santini will lead Nash into battle with "Sadistic" Sean Steele..."
"...In a night where careers may go up in flames..."
(We are taken back to Xplosion, where Suicide set himself on fire, then performed a Swanton Bomb on The Fish and Brute. We then see Suicide making his debut in Shock's battle royal, followed by Jordan Blayze eliminating Poppa from that same match.)
BLAYZE: "I am here to brighten things up in this joint."
SUICIDE: "I am the be all and fucking end all in this sport and whether any of you like it or not… there is a dark storm coming and the freezing moon will eclipse your minds."
"...where gambles are taken..."
(We cut to different scenes from BlackJack's first few AWA matches, then raising his arms in victory. Then we see the entire NPD walking down the ramp, with Tim "The Giant" standing tall above everybody else.)
TIM "THE GIANT": "I am going to treat them like I treat my punching bag. Every time I throw a right hook it falls from the ceiling and hits the ground. So I will hit them so hard they will not know what on earth to do."
BLACKJACK: "To become big you have to be small at one point, to become small you have to be started at all. I’ve gotten my start now its time to make the small of now into the big of the future, one match at a time. Its time to show just what a hand I can really deal, and its time to prove that one day that hand will be my royal flush."
"...where we think of better times gone by..."
(We go back in time a little to where John Williams defeated Evan Spire. The screen goes black and white and we see Animosity interfering in the battle royal at Shock, interrupting Evan Spire and Zeal. We also see Spire and Animosity battle it out at Classic.)
EVAN SPIRE: "I'm just looking for a good clean, friendly fight."
ANIMOSITY: "Evan the third time will not be a charm, it is your destiny to lose to me, don’t try to fight it just accept it. Your time here in the AWA is short, enjoy it while it lasts."
"...where not everything makes immediate sense..."
(We see the return of Quade DeSade and also his attack on Brute a while ago. We see both of them participating in the battle royal and Brute eliminating Quade.)
QUADE: "Brute you might want to take stock of who your company is because he did warn you just as a wise fish should. Can you match that wisdom before it brings you to tears?"
BRUTE: "Why do you even come here if you hate captive fish so much?"
"...where personas, championships, careers and even people are buried..."
(Scenes of the feud between Dark Realm and Zeal are shown. We see both, Death Angel and Animosity, attack and bloody Zeal. We see Death Angel winning the AWA Hardcore title from Aaron Matthewson and Zeal winning the AWA TV title from Animosity, followed by Death Angel becoming Brian Williams.)
ZEAL: "All things considered, this could be some huge ruse, an elaborate hoax. You really could be smarter than you seem. Your insipid, uninspired persona could just be an act. You really might have a brainstem, or even harder to believe, a working cortex... You seem to believe that I somehow fear being buried alive. No, not really. You seem to believe that winning such a match would get rid of me. No, not at all."
BRIAN WILLIAMS: "So now we see, just how pathetic all your assumptions were, Zeal. You continually discounted me as a man that could not change. But little did you know that after I defeated Low, and made my mark in this company I would change."
"...where people that were linked to each other for so long will be linked for the last time..."
(We cut to scenes from the summer's longest running feud between Whisper and The Fish. We see Whisper taking the AWA Cruiserweight title from The Fish at King Of The Kage, then winning the Double-Title Ladder Match for the AWA TV title at Classic. We see The Fish regaining the Cruiserweight title and then finally Whisper crashing the dance-off between Fish and Brute.)
WHISPER: "My job is wrestling wannabe superheroes like you... My job is not to make people like me. My job is not about these people, nor is it for these people. It's for me, and her..."
THE FISH: "I have been practicing and I am ready. It’s strange, you can attack me week after week but never say anything about your lost queen. Are you bringing her home . . . did you forget about her, busy?"
"...where legends are cemented and superstars are made..."
(We then focus on the AWA World Heavyweight title belt. Suddenly, however, the golden belt turns into the laughing face of The Legendary Low, standing over Kelly Gunns and pouring beer all over her while a handcuffed Adam Bawm looks on. We see Low applying the Low Profile on Bawm, followed by Bawm beating Dave Santini at Classic and then celebrating with the crowd. Finally, we look back at last week's Shock, where Bawm caused Low to lose to Death Angel and Low helping eliminate Bawm from the battle royal.)
ADAM BAWM: "You're right, Low, I do need the title. I need it more than anything. I live for it. Think about it, Low... I've accomplished many things in my career... almost anything one could dream of. Things you will never know. But I've never won gold in this federation."
LOW: "YOU need the title to prove something, I just WANT it. And you might live for it, but I live, breathe and DIE for the AWA World Heavyweight title!"
"...in such a night, the forces of good battle the forces of evil. Will the American Wrestling Alliance start into an era of hope and dreams..."
(Various scenes of Mortis Valley, BlackJack, Brute, Evan Spire are shown, followed by scenes of Zeal and The Fish holding their championships in their hands, and then finally Adam Bawm standing in the middle of the ring clapping for a standing audience.)
"...or will darkness and greed continue to Overpower everything that is right about our world?"
(We see some various clips of Dave Santini, Nash, Suicide, Quade DeSade and Animosity, before we see Death Angel beat up Zeal and then as Brian Williams Adam Bawm, Whisper talking to the Cruiserweight title belt and finally Low nailing Bawm with a chairshot and then standing over him, raising the World title belt high into the air.)
"...Find out tonight, as the American Wrestling Alliance comes to you from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to present OVERPOWER 2003!"
(We cut back into the arena and pan across the huge cheering crowd. A huge firework goes off and we cut into the crowd to see signs saying "Suicide is bad for your health!", "Fish need dog collars", "Death Angel is already buried" and so on. We then cut to our announcers, Herb Summers and Frank Jackson.)
HS: "Welcome everybody to Overpower 2003! My name is Herb Summers..."
FJ: "And I am Frank Jackson. The Mellon Arena is sold out as we are about to witness our third edition of Overpower."
HS: "That's right, Frank. In 2000, Overpower wrote history in several ways. We saw the first-ever Colorado Stampede which helped launch the career of Drake Hyde. Dave Santini was just starting to make his mark and Low had his pay-per-view debut. And in the main event, Crimson Dream ended the third and final World title reign of Weston Steel."
FJ: "2001 saw no Overpower due to the September 11th attacks. However, in 2002 Overpower was back and we witnessed a lot of brutal action. Beside a great battle between Jack Happy and King Chozen we were treated to a match that took place in a burning church! And to top it all off, six of the greatest wrestlers this company has ever seen, Drake Hyde, Low, Dave Santini, Black Dragon, The Hangman and Ray Owens, battled it out in a violent Elimination Match for the AWA World title."
HS: "Many of those legends aren't around these days, but Overpower 2003 promises to be just as violent as it was in 2002. We have seen what Suicide has done to himself in order to make an impact, so who knows what he has in mind for today?"
FJ: "Evan Spire and Animosity have quite some history between them and tonight will be another battle in their on-again, off-again feud."
HS: "Death Angel is no more, Brian Williams is the name now. Williams will defend his Hardcore title tonight against Zeal. Zeal, however, is the TV Champion and Chairman George Slater has announced that the two titles will be unified tonight and the Hardcore title will be retired. All this will take place in a Buried Alive Match."
FJ: "The Fish and Whisper have had a feud that will produce it's third pay-per-view match tonight. After competing over two different championships and being at each other's throat for four months, Fish and Whisper will be at each other's throat one more time as they look to settle their feud ina Dog Collar Match."
HS: "And our main event picks to very confident performers against each other as Adam Bawm seeks to win his first gold here in the AWA. Looking to add wrestling fame to his movie fame, he challenges one of the greatest World Champions in AWA history, The Legendary Low."
FJ: "What do you..."
HS: "Sorry to interrupt you there, Frank, however I have just been told we are going to cut to what Mortis Valley had to say to a few fans just before Overpower went on the air."
(We cut to the back and see Mortis Valley and Rogue walking down the hallway to the cheers of the fans. We get closer and listen to what they talk about.)
Rogue: "But are you sure it’s wise to have HIM here? You told me what he has done in the past, and I mean… what about the things he already said?”
Mortis: "Well, that’s just him being a bit…. boastful. Besides, he likes to stretch the truth at times…”
Rogue: "He said you fear him…”
(Mortis smirks as he replies.)
Mortis: "Or even outright lie… But despite all that, and what has happened in the past, I am concentrated on the future, and I know that a man of his talents will make it that much brighter if things go well…”
Rogue: "Yeah, but that’s IF it goes well…”
(Mortis nods in agreement and speaks, a bit understandingly.)
Mortis: "Don’t worry, both I AND the AWA have dealt with hard times before, if that were to happen…”
(Mortis pauses as he walks up close to Rogue, who smiles sweetly, as Mortis speaks, a bit softer.)
Mortis: "Especially with you by my side, I know we can do it again…”
(Both smile sweetly at one another, as they almost look to kiss, only to get interrupted by some of the staff in the back.)
Man: "Mortis, they are all waiting for you!”
(Mortis and Rogue take a step back, as Mortis nods, the man handing him a mic as Mortis replies.)
Mortis: "Right, right…well, ready?”
(Rogue nods as Mortis and her take a few more steps towards the a door, with him opening it up, and walking outside to a roaring crowd! Fans are everywhere in the streets, with various AWA t-shirts for their various favorite wrestlers, or just the promotion itself, all waiting to get inside! Mortis smiles as he speaks on the mic.)
Mortis: "Thank you for coming! It looks like we have an exciting night ahead of us! We first get to see, the singles debut of possibly the most controversial man even signed to the AWA, Suicide!”
(The fans are split on this one, but more cheer, although you feel in anticipation for him. Mortis nods as he replies.)
Mortis: "Yes, you gotta wonder, what crazy thing he has planned next! And speaking of crazy, or at least a bit UNUSUAL, it’s going to be a unification match in a Buried Alive Match!”
(Again, this gets a mixed reaction as Mortis nods in agreement, to this. Suddenly, you hear one fan yell something out.)
Fan: "Mortis, if I can ask a question, WHY is the Hardcore title being retired?”
(Mortis nods in understanding as he responds.)
Mortis: "Unfortunately, it seems the board of directors have felt that the Hardcore title has no place in the AWA at this point in time, with other titles, such as the TV, the United States and so on titles in the AWA. Unfortunately, there is nothing much I can do. Low came up with the idea, stating that the title should be retired from the AWA because, at least in his opinion, it’s a title for ‘wrestlers who aren’t really wrestlers’, or something like that. The board of directors didn't really share that opinion, however they felt that at his point in time there too many championships available in the AWA. Therefore we voted on whether to retire the Hardcore title. I voted against it, but obviously I was out-numbered."
(Some of the fans boo, some cheer.)
Mortis: "Yeah, this is the unfortunate part of me having the board of directors put into play. While many times we DO agree on things concerning the betterment of the AWA, at times, such as this, there is something we DON’T agree on, and when that happens, there is only so much I can do about it. I’m not happy about it, nor some of the wrestlers, especially the ones such as Nightmist who worked their asses off in that division."
(Some of fans continue to boo with a few starting a ‘Low sucks’ chant. Mortis lets them have their peace at this, as the chant goes on for about a full minute, before they settle down, as Mortis speaks again.)
Mortis: "Yes, but there may be some redemption in it all, as Low will be facing Adam Bawn, for the World title not only in Adam’s first pay per view main event, but also his first ever shot at the World title!”
(The Adamaniacs begin to hoot loudly and clap for Adam before they then settle down a bit. You then hear another fan yell out a question to Mortis.)
Fan 2: "What do you think of what Dark Warrior said to you?”
(Mortis chuckles a bit as he then replies.)
Mortis: "Ah yes, Jeff... I noticed he is playing a power play in the AWA. Not a wise move. The board of directors are… not too pleased with his decision to no show a few weeks ago. Obviously, they can’t fine him, as he actually is NOT under contract… BUT he can be stripped of it. In truth, I was against that as well, as I felt too many times were being stripped, forfeited and merged, but again, that is another area that I got out-voted on. In truth though, to sum it up, Jeff should know that Mortis Valley did NOT strip him of the Tag Team titles, but rather Jeff stripped himself of the tag team titles as the board of directions felt they had to strip the title from him, because he and C-Rock NEVER defended it since…”
(Yet another fan yells out a question towards Mortis.)
Fan 3: "What about Dave Santini?”
Mortis: "Who?”
Fan 3: "Dave Santini!”
Mortis: "Whom?”
Fan 3: "You know, that guy who really sucks, Dave Santini?!”
Mortis: "Oh yes, Dave! Haha, if I got a dollar for every person who said they would ruin me, end me, and so on, I’d be a millionare. I mean, you have Suicide, 1, then, Travis Gray, 2, then Low at times, 3, and so on. But…”
(Mortis pauses as he motions a nearby camera that comes right up to his face.)
Mortis: "If I can be serious for a moment, I will say this. Dave, it was all fine and good that you attacked me. I am a wrestler, that stuff has, will and probably will continue to happen throughout my career. It’s something that I have to expect and acknowledge. BUT, you also decided to lay your hands on Rogue…”
(The camera comes closer as Mortis seems to have lost all his fan friendly attitude at the moment.)
Mortis: "And that is a mistake! Dave, I want you to think, think long and hard about what you have done. You have just raised the ire of a man who has faced the world's best, and beat them. You are now going to face the anger of the man who has faced Low in a Heaven To Hell Match, faced Suicide in matches that would never even be allowed to be shown on AWA television no matter how much stroke I have now or ever before, and a man who has gone through the most brutal of opponents, from the Suicide’s to the Hangman’s, and so on.”
Mortis: "And I want you to think what this means for you. What this means, what will be done TO you. Dave, we once were a hostile alliance my former friend, but I will tell you this, after what you did to Rogue, we WILL be even more hostile ENEMIES!”
Mortis: "And as for you Nash, you wanted to make a big entrance of the expense of me and Rogue? That's fine, just know you will be making an even BIGGER exit…at the expense of yourself!”
(Mortis continues to have this serious look on his face for a good ten seconds, before finally, be breaks away from it and smiles at the fans as he replies.)
Mortis: "But anyway fans, it’s time to enter, welcome to AWA Overpower and I hope you enjoy the show!”
(We cut back to the arena and we see "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson sitting in the front row!)
FJ: "Hey, what's this? Dark Warrior is back!"
HS: "Jeff Christianson, ladies and gentlemen, has recently been stripped of the AWA Tag Team title, but now he seems to be back. However, we got word that he has yet to sign an AWA contract. But let's now move on to the next match of this already exciting Overpower Pay-Per-View"
FJ: "Yes and I don't know about you Herb, but this is definitely a match that I am looking forward to. Dave Santini has already got an unbelievable track-record in bringing new talent into the AWA and turning them into World-Class…"
HS: "He has?"
FJ: "You don't remember the greatest-ever Tag Team to ever grace the AWA in the Paramedics, not to mention "The Real Thing" LJ Vacamas?"
HS: "…and we all saw what happened to Vacamas…He got retired from the AWA by the man that will be the AWA World Champion tonight…Adam Bawm"
FJ: "Yeah right, of course he will, but this man-beast…this 6ft 8, 320 lb monster has already taken out two AWA Superstars…and he hasn't even gotten in the ring yet. Not to mention Mortis Valley and Rogue the first week he made an appearance"
HS: "He surprised and ambushed them, Frank and I think that one of two Superstars that Nash took out last week will be looking for his ounce of revenge right here tonight. Tonight Sean Steele will be able to teach this rookie, Nash the difference between Street-Fighting and WRESTLING!"
FJ: "Time will tell, Herb…Time will tell!"
(Suddenly the lights go out and "Pour Some Sugar On Me" starts to blare out over the PA System. Two solitary red beams are flashed around the arena, before coming to rest on the former AWA World Champion and AWA Commissioner, Dave"The Rave" Santini, who stands arrogantly on the rampway. Pyro's go off as the smartly-dressed Santini makes his way towards the empty ring, amidst the jeering and booing of the thousands and thousands of fans. Dave Santini climbs into the ring, brandishing a mic from his suit jacket pocket and begins to address the still jeering crowd)
HS: "Do we have to listen to this?"
FJ: "WHAT? This is the highlight of the whole Pay-Per-View. Now shut up and show the greatest-ever AWA Wrestler the respect he deserves"
Santini: "SHUT THE HELL UP YOU DISRESPECTFUL, GOOD-FOR-NOTHING INGRATES!"
FJ: "You tell 'em, Dave."
Santini: "Tonight and this moment specifically is for one man…AWA Overpower 2003 will forever be remembered…The Pay-Per-View that will never be forgotten…The Pay-Per-View that will go down in history as the launching pad of the man who will be known as the most destructive wrestler to ever step foot in an AWA ring. Overpower isn't about the new Board of Directors. It isn't about Mortis Valley's first REAL Pay-Per-View in charge of the American Wrestling Alliance. It isn't about Low, everyone's World Champion, except for Dave Santini's and Low, no matter what you do…THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE! …and it certainly isn't about that latest pretender to the throne…Mr.Adam Bawm, the man that allegedly DESTROYED me…ME…DAVE"THE RAVE" SANTINI! Bawm, Don't make me laugh! …Tonight is about none of you, tonight is about the debut of the "Future of the AWA"…It is about the Unbreakable, the Unbeatable...THE UNSTOPPABLE FORCE…It is about N A S H !!"
(Santini throws down the mic and climbs out of the ring as "St.Anger" by Metallica strikes up and out walks the immense figure of Nash. The 6ft 8 inch monster pauses on the rampway, the shot on the AWAtron zooms in at Nash's cold and emotionless stare. A black knit beanie covers his shaven head, revealing just his thin chin strap beard meeting his goatee and his cold stare through his blue-ish grey eyes as he makes his way towards the ring)
FJ: "Here he comes, Herb and you heard Santini…The Future of the AWA"
HS: "…and I've never heard that phrase before"
FJ: "Somehow I think this time it might just be a little different"
(Nash reaches the ring, surveying his surroundings and steps into the ring over the top rope. He glances in the direction of Santini, who grins knowingly, back in his direction. Nash looks out to the crowd as they continue to boo him with just a look of disdain on his face. The crowd's jeering suddenly changes as "If You're Gonna Be Dumb" starts to play and Sean Steele appears on the rampway)
HS: "Well Steele hasn't always been a crowd favourite here in the AWA, but he certainly has there support here tonight"
FJ: "Just goes to prove how fickle they all are, doesn't it?"
HS: "Or maybe they just want Steele to exact his revenge after that despicable attack just last week"
FJ: "It was hardly unprovoked, was it? He was minding his own business brutalising M-Tank, but oh no Steele had to have his piece of his action and he got what he deserved that night and tonight, Nash will finish the job and send a chilling warning to everyone else in the locker room"
HS: "We'll see about that, Frank. Steele is no rookie"
FJ: "…and he doesn't seem too willing to get this Hardcore Match going either"
(Steele stops just short of the ring, glaring in the direction of the taunting Nash. Santini laughs at this as Nash turns his back to Steele, raising his arms to the crowd. Steele seizes the opportunity and dives in the ring, attempted a big Clothesline to the back of Nash's head. Nash just cocks his head back in the direction of Steele as Steele sets off running towards the ropes, coming back with another Running Clothesline, but again not having the desired effect. Nash just stands there as Steele go for another one, but this time he is abruptly stopped by a knee to the midsection with doubles Steele over in two. Nash stares down at the smaller frame of Sean Steele, before whipping him into the far ropes and catching him into the centre of the ring, his huge 24 inch biceps clutching around his waist as if attempting a Bearhug, but seconds later he launches him across the ring with a devastating Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex)
FJ: "WOW…What power displayed here by Nash"
(Steele lands hard, clutching at the base of his spine as Nash stalks him from behind. Steele pulls himself to his feet using the ropes as Nash spins him around, connecting with a big Headbutt as he does. Steele staggers backwards, but is powerless to prevent another crushing Headbutt that sends him reeling back towards the turnbuckle)
FJ: "The weapons haven't come out in this Hardcore Match yet, but already there is the sight of blood on Steele's forehead"
(Steele wipes his now seeping forehead as Nash whips him across the full length of the ring, sending him crashing into the turnbuckle on the other side, before coming charging in with a massive clothesline in the corner that causes Steele to slump to the mat. Santini applauds at this, giving his approval to Nash as the crowd continues to boo. Steele is quickly pulled to his feet, but almost as quickly is sent straight back to the mat with a Vertical Suplex. Steele remains motionless in the centre of the ring as the camera picks up Santini reaching inside his jacket pocket…and revealing "The Equalizer"!)
FJ: "Santini wants Nash to finish this quickly, I think"
HS(shouting): "Look ref, Santini's got his nightstick!"
FJ: "Herb, it's a Hardcore Match."
(However, back in the ring Nash shrugs off Santini's offer and continues to stalk the now recovering Steele. He raises him to his feet once more and again whips him into the ropes, however instinctively Steele managing to duck the big Clothesline as both men hit the opposite ropes, but as Nash comes back for another Clothesline, Steele managing to drop down, hitting a dropkick to the left knee of Nash. Nash falls down to one knee for a split second, but is soon to his feet as Steele comes running in once more this time hitting a Tornado DDT from off the ropes…)
HS: "DDT from out of nowhere from Steele…COME ON!"
(Steele looks on in disbelief as even before he can make a cover, Nash sits up from the Tornado DDT, but before he can get to his feet, Steele sets off towards the ropes once more, this time nailing Nash with a raised knee to the face. Nash goes down, but again sits up within seconds…)
FJ: "This man REALLY IS a monster"
HS: "…and it looks like Steele is going for reinforcements"
(Herb is right, for as soon as Steele had noticed that Nash had once again sat up, he slides outside grabbing hold of the nearest chair and cracking it over the head of Nash as soon as he attempted to follow him…)
HS: "This brawl is going to the outside and finally turning into the Hardcore Match we'd predicted"
FJ: "I'd hardly call one Chairshot the requirement of a Hardcore Match, anyway it's not even affecting Nash"
(Nash shakes his head from the last chairshot as Steele lifts the chair over his head, sending it crashing down on the head of Nash once more, but despite the impact it only knocks Nash back one step. Once again, Steele pulls the chair back, but this time Nash manages to duck and Steele drops the chair, following a resounding smack against the metal turnbuckle, sending vibrations right through his body. Nash wastes no time at all, sending Steele towards the steel steps head-first, in which Steele crumples on impact)
FJ: "Sean Steele…meet STEEL"
HS: "You're so funny."
FJ: "I think so."
(Steele has no time to recover as Nash lifts him up by the head and sends him crashing back into the steps, face-first. Nash raises him once more, staring face-to-face, blood starts streaming down his face following the latest two collisions with the steel steps, but Nash shows no mercy and lifts him high into the air, sending him crashing back to the unforgiving floor with a devastating one-handed Chokeslam!)
FJ: "A Chokeslam with authority by Nash and Steele is looking a little worse for wear"
(Steele lies motionless on the floor as Nash towers above him, laughing at him. Nash pulls Steele to his feet, but he slumps back down. Nash turns to face the crowd, taunting them as Steele starts to stir, however unnoticed by Nash and Steele, Steele has managed to grab what looks like a pipe from underneath the ring. Nash, still unaware, picks Steele to his feet and rolls him into the ring, but upon following him, the dazed Steele seizes his opportunity and cracks the steel pipe across the legs off Nash. Steele, finally manages get to his feet but Nash's advances still continue, Steele swings the pipe once more, this time catching Nash on the left side of his ribs, but this still doesn't prevent the stalking, Nash. Once again, Steele swings as he backs towards the corner, this time catching Nash on the right-side of his ribs, but he still advances, seemingly undeterred by the steel pipe shots. Steele, holding the weapon high in the air attempts to come down on the skull of his stalking opponent, but Nash grabs the pipe from Steele's clutches and casually discards it out of the ring. and without warning grips his right hand across the throat of Steele, hoisting him high in the air once more and sending him CRASHING down in the centre of the ring with another devastating Chokeslam. Steele, not for the first time tonight, lies motionless, his arms lie limply by his side. Nash raises his arms in the air once more, signalling his dominance over his smaller and weaker opponent…)
HS: "What's Santini doing?"
(Just as Herb speaks the camera switches to where Dave Santini had just ducked down under the ring, a few seconds later brandishing a table, which he proceeds to slide into the ring. Nash notices this and sets the table up in the corner, before returning to the prone body of Sean Steele)
FJ: "This doesn't look good for Steele"
(Nash hoists Steele to his feet and sends him crashing towards the table head-first, the table breaking in half on impact, leaving Steele in the midst of the broken wood)
FJ: "STEELE…meet wood"
HS: "…"
(Nash grins at the sight of the destruction in front of him, but still insists on not pinning the helpless, Steele. He proceeds to pick up the lifeless body once more, this time nailing him with a High Drop Powerbomb right in the centre of the ring. Nash drops down by his side, placing his right hand on the chest of Steele…The ref hits the mat for the first pinfall of the night…1…2…)
FJ: "This match is over!"
HS: "WHAT?"
(Herb and Frank both seem to be in shock as Nash pulls out of the pinfall just as the ref's hand is about to signal "3")
HS: "How much more damage does he want to cause tonight?"
FJ: "He obviously intends on making this signal that Santini spoke about as meaningful as possible"
(Nash leaves the broken body of Steele in the centre of the ring and slides out of the ring…)
HS: "Now where's he going?"
(Steele reaches under the ring, brandishing another table and much to Santini's delight, proceeds to set it up in the centre of the ring, right next to where Steele is lying. Nash then hoists Steele to his feet, sending him face-first into the nearest turnbuckle. Nash follows him in, lifting him high above his head and placing him on the the top rope. Nash then starts to climb up after him and upon reaching the top rope himself, he sets Steele up upon his shoulders in a Fireman's Carry…)
HS: "Noooooo…There's just no need for this"
(Nash, still holding Steele, spins in a quarter circle, pushing Steele's lower body into a Semi-Suplex and falling from the top rope, DRIVING Steele's body and his own straight through the table in the centre of the ring)
FJ: "That's the BLOOD 4 BLOOD! …and this match is definitely over"
(Nash sits up, before placing his right hand on the chest of Sean Steele and the ref hits the mat…1…2…3!)
FJ: "What dominance showed by Nash in his debut AWA match."
(The ref signals for the bell to be rung, as a pleased Santini climbs into the ring and "St.Anger" strikes up once more, but Nash still not satisfied pushes the ref out of the way and through the ropes to the outside, before lifting the lifeless Steele above his head in a Gorilla Press, before charging towards the ropes and launching Steele in the direction of the crowd)
HS: "Oh my god!"
FJ: "I hate to think what kind of condition Steele will be in after this destruction at the hands by Nash here tonight"
HS: "…and was there any need for what he has just done. He is a monster out of control and one day, Santini and the rest of the AWA will regret the day that he ever signed a contract
FJ: "Somehow I think regret is the last thing on Santini's mind. He has signed a man that will run Mortis Valley and any other man or women that supports him out of this federation…and I feel tonight is just the beginning"
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, at this point the match between Suicide and Jordan Blayze was supposed to take place, but we'll have to take you back to footage that was taped earlier in the day."
(We cut to said footage and see Jordan Blayze walking towards the arena, waving to a few fans and signing a couple of autographs. He then opens the door to the arena when suddenly a huge fire ball comes through the door and right into Blayze's face! We hear the fans screaming, but even more so we hear Jordan Blayze screaming in pain and see him clutching his face. EMTs and officials, including George Slater, arrive at the scene quickly, but the damage has already been done.)
HS: "That was quite horrif..."
FJ: "Cool! Well, actually it was hot, but hell, it entertained me!"
HS: "You're so sick... Fans, we can only assume that Suicide was the man responsible for this attack. However, he was nowhere to be found today, while Jordan Blayze is obviously in a hospital for treatment of his wounds. Therefore, George Slater has decided that the Suicide-Blayze match will be rescheduled for this coming Sunday's Shock from the Manhattan Center in New York City."
FJ: "What a pity."
(Suddenly, Jeff Christianson, wearing a white Tony Polamalu Pittsburgh Steeler Jersey (#48), and white Pants with gold going down the side, jumps the guardrail and walks towards the ring announcer. Also he has his part of the tag titles draped over his shoulder. He takes the microphone from the announcer's hand and sits on the ring apron. He rolls in the ring and stands up. The crowd is giving a mixed reaction not knowing how to respond. He turns a full circle, looking through the crowd, and begins to speak.)
Christianson: "It feels great to be back."
(More of the crowd is being won over as he continues to speak.)
Christianson: "Now, if you all didn't know, I like both the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins-"
(Jeff Christianson is cut off by the whole crowd cheering.)
Christianson: "A wrestler said I didn't have a big pay check. He also said I couldn't put people in the seats. I think he's dead wrong about that. I sold this arena out here when I was the Hardcore Champion. I think you all remember when I wiped the floor of this arena with Inferno."
(The crowd begins to cheer at the mention of a great Hardcore match that happened in this very arena.)
Christianson: "But I sold out this arena. I was one of the few Hardcore Champions to Main Event weekly as the Champion defending his or her title. I did it every week, with or without the title. Everyone knows that, except these rookies that think they're actually better than me. Yes, Brian, that goes out to you. In my last interview, I said that I would give you an answer on having a wrestling match... Let me think for a minute... Me, a Grand Slam Champion, a legend in this sport against you, the Hardcore Champion, and self proclaimed Legend Killer. I think I can fit that into my schedule, after I get my new contract, which is the real reason I'm out here. I wanted to wrestle tonight, but not having a contract, and being stripped of the Tag titles put me in a bit of a jam. Now I didn't really want to get involved tonight, but I do need a contract. So, Chairman Slater, would you please come out now with your contract offer?"
FJ: "What is the guy talking about? Slater should bring a couple of cops with him, Dark Warrior has no business jumping the guardrail and disrupting the show like this!"
HS: "Well, he IS a true AWA superstars, Slater would be foolish not to sign him to a contract."
(George Slater, the chairman of the AWA board of directors, walks out with AWA security right behind him. He enters the ring, security still right behind him, and takes a microphone out of his suits pocket.)
Slater: "Mr. Christianson, you need to get out of this ring immediately and should not stop the show's natural flow. Besides, I could easily get you arrested for jumping over that guardrail."
Christianson: "You can't throw me out of the arena, I bought a ticket."
Slater: "That's right, but that means you should sit among the rest of the great AWA fans."
Christianson: "This is a pay-per.view, you're supposed to expect the unexpected. I'm giving certain wrestlers more time to prepare. But, I do want to talk about this whole contract thing with you. Possibly in the back?"
(Slater thinks a second about Christianson's words, then he nods in agreement.)
Slater: "Okay, you can come with me to the back. Actually, I DID expect you to appear here tonight, so I have prepared a contract offer for you."
(Dark Warrior smiles and then follows George Slater out of the ring. The two walk up the ramp to a somewhat confused crowd.)
FJ: "He really shouldn't sign that guy."
HS: "I thought you were a fan of his?"
FJ: "Well, he behaved like an idiot here tonight!"
(The NDP music hits and Tim the Giant makes his way out from behind the curtain, to a mixed response from the crowd. He makes his way to the ring and climbs in awaiting the arrival of his opponent. The music fades out and "When The Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin hits and BlackJack appears to an explosive response from the crowd. He leans back on the top of the ramp and tosses off his leather jacket, and then explodes to the ring and climbs in heading to the center and raising his arms making the crowd cheer still louder. He then heads back to his corner and the timekeeper rings the bell. BlackJack explodes out of the corner and Tim goes for a clothesline but BlackJack ducks and nails him with a hard right hand, then another, and then a left. He takes a step back and nails Tim with a standing drop kick knocking him back but not down. BlackJack hits the ropes and comes off with a clip to the left knee of Tim bringing him down to one knee. BlackJack then steps up and drives his elbow into the top of Tim’s head numerous times. He then steps back and hits a snap mare. He springs to his feet and grabs time and brings him back to his feet. He chops him to the chest a few times, working him back into the corner. He then runs to the other corner and takes off across the ring and jumps up and goes for a monkey flip but Tim uses his size to just push BlackJack off. BlackJack hits hard on the back of his head. Tim then makes his way across the ring to the downed BlackJack. He picks him up, hits him with a hard sidewalk slam and then goes for a cover 1..... 2..... Kick out.)
HS: "Wow, that was close, BlackJack needs to get it together here if he is gonna come away with the victory tonight."
FJ: "Yeah, maybe something will happen soon."
HS: "You always find the negative in things don’t you!"
FJ: "Yeah, isn’t it great."
HS: "No, it's not, just do your job."
(Tim lifts BlackJack back to his feet and drops him again quickly with a clothesline. He then drops an elbow to BlackJack's chest. He gets up and pulls BlackJack with him. He then puts his head between his legs and lifts him up for a power bomb, but BlackJack flips all the way over, pulling Tim down for a face buster. He rolls over and covers 1..... 2..... Kick out. BlackJack jumps to his feet and climbs to the top rope and waits for tim to get back to his feet. As he does BlackJack leaps from the top and nails a missile dropkick knocking Tim back down to the mat. BlackJack makes his way over and pulls Tim back up and hits a swinging neckbreaker. He then rolls over and covers 1..... 2..... Kick out at the last second.)
HS: "The tide sure has turned. BlackJack is impressing me here taking out the much larger Tim the Giant."
FJ: "Well, you're not too hard to impress, Herb."
(BlackJack gets to his feet and makes his way over to Tim but is caught with a low blow, bringing him to his knees. Tim is quick to capitalize, scooping BlackJack up and hitting a shoulder breaker. He then climbs to his feet again and drives down with a hard elbow to the chest of BlackJack. He then gets up and hits the ropes and hits a fist drop. Then he rolls over for a cover 1..... 2..... Kick out. Tim slaps the mat in frustration and then gets to his feet. He brings BlackJack up and hits him with a short arm clothesline. He lifts him up and forces him into the corner, then backs up and runs at BlackJack and attempts an avalanche. BlackJack moves and Tim hits the corner hard and stumbles backwards. BlackJack grabs him and hits a falling reverse DDT. He climbs to the top rope and leaps off hitting a guillotine leg drop. He then flips over and covers 1..... 2..... 3. NO, kick out by Tim. BlackJack gets to his feet and lifts Tim up. He kicks him in the stomach doubling Tim over. BlackJack then hits a high
knee to the face of Tim sending him down once again.)
HS: "I think that if Tim can't get it together BlackJack is going to be victorious here tonight."
FJ: "Well, but what you think is usually plain wrong, Herb."
HS: "Oh really, Frank? Like you're Mr. Know-it-all!"
FJ: "Well, ain't I?"
(BlackJack lifts his opponent back to his feet and hits the ropes. He comes off with the Ace of Spades Tim appears to be out of it.)
HS: "Ace of Spades... Ace of Spades, that is BlackJack's finishing move, it has got to be all over for Tim here."
FJ: "We can only hope!"
HS: "I wonder why they force me to work with you every week."
FJ: "Because they know you think I am ridiculous."
HS: "Yeah, but didn't you just say everything I think is just plain wrong?"
FJ: "....."
(BlackJack rolls Tim over and covers 1.….2.….3!!!! BlackJack jumps up and throws his arms into the air as "When The Levee Breaks" begins to play. The ref makes his way to BlackJack and holds his arm to show his victory. Tim has rolled out of the ring and is making his way to the back, as BlackJack is celebrating in the ring. He climbs out and begins to make his way to the back to the cheers of the crowd.)
HS: "What an impressive win tonight for BlackJack, who has yet to lose a singles match in the AWA. Tim is a proven veteran here in the AWA, so BlackJack has probably raised the attention of some here tonight."
(After a commercial for Last Man Standing we cut to the back. We see "Dark Warrior" Jeff Christianson waiting on the outside of George Slater's office. Jeff Christianson speaks without knowing that the camera is on, or that even someone is behind him.)
Christianson (talking to himself): "I can't believe this. He has me waiting outside his office. What's he doing in there? I'd rather not think about that. He better have a good sized contract ready, because I'm the overall wrestler in this company."
(The door opens and Slater steps out of his office. He looks at Christianson, then behind him, then smiles.)
Slater: "You can both come in."
Christianson: "I think you mean, I can come in."
Slater: "No, both of you can come in. You and the camera man."
(Jeff Christianson's face turns a little red when he turns around to see the camera on.)
Christianson: "That camera wasn't on, was it?"
Camera Man: "Ummm, yes sir, actually it was..."
(Christianson hurries inside. The camera man slowly follows. The chairman shuts the door, and takes his seat. Jeff Christianson reluctantly sits down as well. Both men have serious looks on their faces by now. Slater pulls out a pack of blank posted notes, writes something on it and then gives it to Christianson.)
Slater: "Here's our offer."
(Christianson looks at the offer, then looks back up at Slater. He looks at the offer one more time and then at Slater again.)
Christianson: "Is this some type of joke? I carry this company on my back. You don't hear me bitch about not facing the World Champion every month do you? I don't ask for titles shots, I don't complain about the rookies that they put me up against... I don't really do anything to cause front office trouble and this is the best offer you could come up with?"
(Slater scratches his head and seems to think about what Christianson just said. He then writes an offer on the new posted note and hands it to Christianson. Jeff looks at it, and a look of disgust comes across his face.)
Christianson: "Really, you're wasting my time. I could be in Japan making triple that right now, and you offer me this?"
Slater: "Well, the AWA is the premier wrestling company in North America, so it really is your loss."
Christianson: "How about I name my price, and you can gimmick any of my matches that you feel necessary on Shock and Xplosion."
Slater: "Well, first let me see the amount of money you want. THEN we can start talking about booking matches for you."
(Christianson doesn't really listen to what Slater says and snatches the pen from the chairman. He takes a posted note off the stack, writes down a price, smiles at it and hands it to the chairman.)
Christianson: "That's an offer I like. That's the neighborhood I like my price to be named in."
(Slater looks at it and really has no expression on his face. He looks at Christianson again and then shakes his hand.)
Slater: "This is an amount I and the company can live with. You will be informed about your next booking shortly."
(We cut back to the arena and join our announcers at their desk.)
FJ: "What an idiot!"
HS: "Who? Slater? Or Dark Warrior?"
FJ: "Both!"
HS: "Why?"
FJ: "Because Slater just lost his tough guy image by having a wrestler dedicate the price and..."
HS: "I don't think Slater would have signed him had the price not been resonable."
FJ: "Think what you will, Herb. And Christianson is an idiot just because he carries himself the way he does these days."
HS: "Well, that is your opinion and your opinion only, Frank. But up next we have two weird guys taking on each other."
(‘I Can’t Wait’ by Hilary Duff hits and the crowd erupts. Soon the very odd, yet interesting Brute emerges from the back. He has his arms raised as he slowly wanders to the ring. Halfway down he nearly trips over a cable and tries to play off his stumble by tap dancing beside the ring apron.)
HS: "He’s quite an entertainer, that Brute.”
FJ: "It’ll be much more entertaining to watch Quade DeSade wipe his ass with this clown.”
HS: "I swear, I’d like to have just one night where you commentate completely unbiased.”
FJ: "Sure you would, Herb. Sure you would.”
(Enigma’s ‘Sadness’ reverberates through the Steel-town fan base and the lights in the arena go out. After a few seconds, the words ‘QUADE DESADE’ fill the screen and out comes the mysterious being known as Quade DeSade. After a long, extravagant entrance, the lights come on completely and both me are in their opposite corners.)
FJ: "Speaking of entertaining, DeSade’s entrance was like a showing of Cirque du Soleil!”
HS: "Some people just have a knack for making an entrance. You know, a lot of people don’t realize the significance of a good entrance. A good, or great entrance will actually psyche out an opponent and can really get the crowd behind a wrestler.”
FJ: "Thanks for that, umm, interesting observation, Herb.”
(The referee rings the bell and Brute and DeSade lock up. Brute gains the quick advantage, using his larger size, and he flips DeSade with a hip toss. Quade rolls up to his feet and the two lock again. Brute pushes hard and slams DeSade to the mat. DeSade again rolls up and this time tries to bait Brute into a lock. Brute takes the bait and as soon as he touches Quade’s hand, is met with a kick to his gut. It only takes a split second for Quade to drop Brute with a DDT.)
FJ: "Brute was suckered right there. Quade DeSade is trying to outsmart the big fella tonight. Shouldn’t be too difficult.”
HS: "Well, Brute doesn’t stay down for long.”
(Brute gets to his feet, having shaken off the cobwebs before Quade can continue any kind of assault. Quade leaps up into the air, feet first, and tries to land a drop kick. But Brute catches him slightly and slams him down hard. Quade shakes it off and he too rolls up quickly. Once again, both me are toe to toe in center ring.)
HS: "These two men take a licking and keep on ticking.”
FJ: "Like your wife. She’s like the energizer bunny, she keeps going and going and going…”
HS: "Shut the hell up!”
FJ: "I was just joking.”
(DeSade is the first to react and quickly wheels around Brute, locking in a full nelson, Brute ducks out and rolls around behind DeSade, locking his massive arms around his opponent’s waist. Suddenly, Brute and DeSade are sprawled out on the mat.)
HS: "Oh, Brute tried for a German Suplex there a bit prematurely.”
FJ: "Take a look at the replay – DeSade wriggles free, but too late, and lands right on top of Brute.”
HS: "Both men are down!”
(Both men lumber to their feet and are again center ring. This time, Brute acts first, locking his arms around DeSade’s body, belly to belly style. But DeSade breaks the hold, lowers his body and grabs Brute around the thighs, lifting him up and slamming him hard with a spinebuster. Brute’s head slams against the mat, knocking him out momentarily.)
FJ: "Cover by DeSade!”
HS: "No, Brute kicks out at the last moment.”
(Quade, visibally frustrated, locks in a horizontal sleeper on Brute, who is already dazed. The fans begin cheering for Brute as it doesn’t take long for the referee to begin a count. He raises Brute’s arm high and it falls like lead to the mat. ONE! He raises Brute’s arm for a second time, with the same results. TWO! The crowd is now on their feet as the referee raises Brute’s arm once more.)
FJ: "HAHA! It’s all over.”
HS: "Brute may be out of the match already.”
(The referee drops Brute’s arm a third time and a hushed silence goes over the crowd as Brute’s hand lands hard on the mat. THREE! The referee stands up to ring the bell.)
FJ: "It’s over! It’s over!”
HS: "Wait a minute, Frank, look!”
(The referee is distracted by a tugging at his pants. He looks down to see Brute holding onto them tightly. The referee ponders for a moment but then decides to allow the match to continue. Immediately Quade, who is very upset now, releases Brute and heads for the referee.)
HS: "This may not be very wise of DeSade here. I’m sure Brute didn’t have much left in him.”
FJ: "This is a travesty! An outrage! Call a lawyer.”
(As Quade DeSade argues with the referee, Brute slowly rises to his feet. First one foot, then a knee, and soon he’s on two feet. Quade hears the crowd cheering and realizes something is up. He wheels around, just ducking Brute’s Big Boot. The referee, however, wasn’t so lucky.)
HS: "The referee is down!”
FJ: "Brute’s cheating. This should be over! DQ!”
(Brute stands in shock over the referee, trying frantically to revive him. Suddenly, Quade takes advantage and charges at Brute, lunging at him from behind and nailing him hard with a low blow. Brute cups himself and hops around in pain. He hops right near the turnbuckle where DeSade suddenly runs up and grabs him by the neck. DeSade runs up the ropes and slams Brute’s neck right into the ropes.)
FJ: "What a guillotine bulldog!”
HS: "Quade DeSade is really taking advantage of the referee’s situation Ever the opportunist.”
(Brute flings backward off the ropes and onto the mat, clutching his neck. DeSade taunts Brute and then pulls the referee up to count. DeSade weakly covers as the referee slowly awakens.)
FJ: "Here it is. It’s all over!”
HS: "DeSade doesn’t have a very good cover there. It may cost him.”
FJ: "Oh, Brute’s out like a light. No use in exerting too much energy.”
(The ref counts, rather slowly, obviously still dazed. ONE!… … TWO!… … THR… KICKOUT! Quade pins Brute again, this time more firmly. ONE!…TWO!… KICKOUT! DeSade begins cursing at the referee, though mostly upset with himself. He picks Brute up by the hair and then reaches towards him with a press hold. He begins to lift Brute up for the press slam, but Brute rolls out of Quade’s grasp and quickly picks up DeSade and throws him down hard with a power slam.)
HS: "Excellent shift of momentum by Brute. The tide may be turning here!”
FJ: "This would never have happened if that cheater didn’t knock out the referee!”
HS: "Poor, naïve little Frank,”
(Brute follows by locking DeSade in a suplex type hold. He then flips Quade around and lifts him up into the air overhead. But DeSade squirms about a bit and manages to break one arm free just as Brute begins to fall with the reverse vertical. Both men hit the mat hard as Brute’s head and neck bounce of Quade’s shoulder.)
FJ: "Quade DeSade just countered that suplex with a modified neckbreaker! What a move!”
HS: "But the impact has knocked both men down for the count. Whoever can get to their feet first here is going to have the clear advantage.”
(Both men manage to stumble to their feet before the ten count and clear the birdies around their respective heads. Brute whips DeSade into the ropes but DeSade ducks a clothesline from Brute. Brute manages to escape another clothesline from DeSade as both men continue on into the ropes for a third time. On the rebound, Brute wheels around, kicking his leg out for a roundhouse. But DeSade ducks and then runs into the ropes. As he bounces off of them for his third time, Brute is waiting for him and picks him up like an Alabama Slam as the crowd erupts…)
HS: "Brutality!”
FJ: "NO!”
(…But in vain, for DeSade flips out of Brute’s arms and lands on his feet. He then shoves Brute face first into the turnbuckle. Brute bounces backward and DeSade locks in another Full Nelson. Only this time he keeps it locked in as he turns Brute towards center ring and begins ascending the ropes with the Full Nelson still locked in.)
FJ: "He reversed it! Now here comes the Crucifier!”
HS: "If DeSade can get Brute up, it may be all over for the Fish’s trusted partner.”
(DeSade manages to reach the second rope and Brute is off the mat about an inch. That is all that DeSade needs, however, as Brute quickly begins fading. It only takes about twenty seconds for the big man to pass out as gravity takes its toll. The referee rings the bell and declares Quade DeSade the winner by K.O. from a devastating Crucifier. 'Sadness' starts playing and Quade rolls out of the ring.)
HS: "It was not to be."
FJ: "Great power display there by Quade DeSade"
(We cut to a video montage detailing the history between Evan Spire and the former John Williams, Animosity, including their first one-on-one encounter, their match at Classic as well as what transpired between them last week at Shock. We return to the arena and "My Goddess" by the Exies starts to play and we see the jubilant youngster Evan Spire, jump out onto the stage. He runs down to the ring to the cheers of the thousands in attendance. He slingshots himself over the top rope and then heads to his corner awaiting his opponent Animosity. We then hear "Crucified" by Sevendust. Animosity comes out from the shadows and then heads towards the ring, walking slowly and methodically. He has a disturbing look on his face, and now he is looking somewhat strange with half of his head starting to grow hair again. Once in the ring, he takes position and waits for the bell.)
HS: "Well here we go, we have the charismatic young Evan Spire against the ever so disturbing and strange Animosity."
FJ: "Hey, leave Animosity, or John Williams, or whoever he thinks he is alone, what did he ever do to you?"
HS: "Frank, as the weeks pass by he gets stranger and stranger"
FJ: "Well you get uglier and uglier so what's the difference?"
HS: "We have a match to call, Frank."
FJ: "Yeah, that’s just what an ugly person would say"
(The bell rings and Spire comes out and offers a handshake, however Animosity spits on Evan's hand. Evan seems to be on fire after this. He rocks Animosity with several hard rights and then whips him to the ropes. Animosity comes back to him and Spire delivers a roundhouse that floors Animosity. Spire then quickly moves in and starts to stomp Animosity, before he then lands an elbow drop. Spire seems pleased with himself and he poses to the fans. This gives Animosity an opportunity to get up. Animosity is now on his feet and then he starts to land his own right hands. After three Spire falls to the canvas, and now Animosity starts to stomp Spire, before landing an elbow drop of his own. Animosity does not pose however and goes straight to work. He has centered his attack on the back of Spire's neck. He sits him up and then delivers a hard kick into the spinal column of Spire. Evan writhes in pain, and Animosity picks him up and delivers a sideslam that forces the wind out of Spire. Animosity gets up and walks around momentarily.)
HS: "Umm, Frank is he talking to himself again?"
FJ: "Well, Herb he is talking to someone, and he is the only one there, so it would be obvious."
HS: "It was a rhetorical question."
FJ: "Did you just call me retarded?"
HS: "sigh"
(Animosity seems to be finished talking to himself now and has gone back on the offensive. He whips Evan to the ropes and then as Evan is coming back he nails him with the clothesline from hell. He goes for the pin... 1….. 2.... but Spire kicks out easily. Animosity then looks backwards and starts screaming at himself, he is telling himself to shut up.)
HS: "Alright, it is official, Animosity has completely lost it."
FJ: "I believe you are right this time… nice job, ugly."
HS: "Would you quit calling me ugly and just call the match."
(As Animosity is arguing with himself Spire gets up and recovers. He stands back and watches the antics of Animosity, he gives a strange look before charging and landing a high drop kick. Spire then picks up Animosity and whips him to the ropes again and lands the same roundhouse. Spire then picks up Animosity again, floats around him and locks in a beautiful Dragon Sleeper. He then drops to a reverse DDT. And again. And again. Finally Spire goes for the pin 1……. 2….. but Animosity kicks out. Spire heads to the top rope but Animosity catches him before he can manage to leap. Animosity throws a few punches and stalls Evan's attempts. Animosity goes up after Evan. The two fight it out above the ring, finally Evan comes out on top, and delivers a top rope Belly to Belly suplex.)
HS: "Oh dear, that was incredible."
FJ: "You make this too easy, Herb, but hey, it was pretty good."
(Animosity seems to be out of it right now. Spire then reaches down and picks up Animosity who is barely moving. Spire hits the ropes and then goes for the Disconnect, but Animosity is too fresh and easily throws Evan off and into the ropes. Both men circle and then Animosity charges towards Spire who ducks and pulls the top rope down with him. Animosity topples over the ropes and onto the concrete. Spire takes advantage by leaping outside and on top of Animosity. Both men lay there momentarily until Spire then jumps up. He picks up Animosity as the ref starts the count. He whips Animosity into the steel stairs and as Animosity is laying over top of the stairs, Spire breaks the count. He then goes outside again, and jumps up on to the barricade. He leaps off and attempts a missile drop kick onto Animosity while he is on the stairs, but Animosity moves.)
FJ: "I think Evan's jump blew a knee!"
HS: "I think you're right, did you see the way he landed, you could see that knees buckle sideways, and now he is grasping that knee and looks to be in severe pain."
(Animosity grabs Spire by the hair and throws him inside the ring. He then stalks over him and then starts arguing with himself again, before starting to stomp Spire's already injured knee. Animosity takes his time realizing that Spire is having a hard time standing. Animosity casually walks over to the corner and starts to taunt the fans, and then he starts to taunt himself.)
HS: "Well, Frank you have to admit that Spire has heart, he is getting up although he is on one leg."
FJ: "But more importantly, look at Animosity, I think he wants to fight himself."
(Animosity then sees Spire up and mobile. He goes running at him and before Spire can do anything he dives towards him and drives his shoulder into Spires knee. We see Spire clutch it again as he falls and rolls around on the canvas. Animosity seems satisfied but wants to add more damage. He grabs Spire's legs and rolls him over into the Boston Crab. Spire screams in pain but Animosity releases the hold. He picks Evan up and starts to taunt Evan now. Evan is wearily standing on one leg. However, as Animosity is taunting Evan, Evan throws a right and catches Animosity in the jaw, as Animosity turns around he gets hit with "The Disconnect".)
HS: "The Disconnect, if Spire can get there in time, he may have this match won!"
FJ: "No, come on Animosity, get up! Get up!"
(Spire slowly drags himself over to Animosity and after a long time has passed he gets there and goes for the pin. 1.......... 2.......... NO!!!!! Animosity has got his foot on the ropes and Spire and the entire crowd gasp.)
FJ: "I knew he would kick out."
HS: "That was great ring presence, and showed a lot of heart by Animosity as well."
(Spire tries to continue the assault but Animosity goes low again and drives his weight into Spire's knee again. Spire hits the ground hard and this time he is not getting up, he is screaming in pain and the ref seems to want to stop the match. Spire tries to get up and Animosity allows him. Yet as Spire fails to get up, Animosity starts to laugh at him and then kicks Spires knee again. He walks in to pick Spire up and finish him, however Spire goes for the small package. 1.......... 2..........3! No! Animosity just kicks out. He looks very angry now and kicks at Spire who still can not stand up. He picks him up this time and lifts him up above his head.)
HS: "Here it comes, Konfuzion. You can tell this match is just about over."
FJ: "I told you so."
HS: "And there it is, that devastating reverse press slam into a neck breaker. He is going for the pin 1…….2………3! And Animosity is back on the winning track, or at least one of his personalities is."
FJ: "Be careful Herb, you never know when he may want to join us."
(We see Spire being helped from the ring by officials as he gets his knee tended to.)
HS: "Well that was a great match Frank, but I fear that Evan Spire may have seriously damaged that knee."
FJ: "Good I hope his entire leg falls off, I hate him."
(We cut to some footage that was recorded earlier in the day of Adam Bawm and Kelly Gunns arriving at the arena, signing autographs.)
HS: "Pp next we will witness the match between the AWA TV Champion Zeal and the AWA Hardcore Champion Brian Williams. Tthe winner will unify the titles. This should be one hell of a match, you don’t want to miss a minute of this one."
FJ: "Yeah, it should be good, just think of it: somebody is going to be buried alive. I love it, ha ha, 6 feet under the ground, with mounds of dirt being thrown on you."
HS: "Well, I must say, this is a very dangerous match. Someone could get badly hurt."
FJ: "Yeah, isn’t it great?"
("New Skin" by Incubus hits the speakers and the crowd goes nuts as they know that Zeal is on his way out. Zeal walks through the curtain and stands there momentarily to take in the ovation from the capacity crowd. He then makes his way to the ring and climbs in. He removes the TV Title from around his waist and hands it to the referee. "New Skin" fades out and a hush falls over the crowd. "King Nothing" by Metallica hits and Brian Williams steps through the curtain and as he does the arena explodes into a barrage of loud boos. Brian looks around at the crowd and a smug smirk falls on his face. He takes a bow and then laughs slightly, then proceeds to the ring. He enters and hands the Hardcore title to the referee. The ref then goes to the centre of the ring and holds both titles in the air to show that both are at stake. He turns and shows Zeal both belts, and then shows Brian Williams. The ref takes the belts to the ring side official and turns back to the match.)
HS: "Fans, the first AWA Hardcore Champion was Spectyr, who won the title on December 2nd, 1999. So the title has been around for a long time."
FJ: "I remember that match very well."
HS: "Frank, they named him the Champion."
FJ: "Oh..."
HS: "Many AWA legends have held that title, including Theoren Spencer, Jack Happy, The Punisher, Dave Santini, Black Dragon, Low, Mortis Valley, King Chozen, Dark Warrior, Snakebite and Aaron Matthewson. The longest reign ended earlier this year when Nightmist had to forfeit the title after 168 days, the longest title reign in AWA history."
FJ: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yadda, yadda, yadda, history shistory, that title will be buried today along with one of these men. The winner will be the unified TV Champion."
(The two competitors have locked eyes and stare across the ring at each other. The ref calls for the bell and the match is under way. For about five seconds the two men just continue to stare at each other. Then they come together, and go to lock up, but at the last minute Zeal ducks under the larger Williams and hits him with a dropkick between the shoulder blades sending Williams into the corner. He stumbles out backwards and Zeal hits the ropes and hits a clothesline knocking Williams to the ground. Zeal is quick to capitalize and drops a knee to the shoulder and neck of Williams, then stands up and drops another knee. Zeal then hits the ropes and comes off with a leg drop across Williams' chest. Zeal then grabs Williams by the head and begins to pull him to his feet. He then hits the ropes and comes off with a dropkick to the right knee of Williams causing him to drop down to one knee again. Zeal hits the ropes again and connects with a dropkick right to the chin of Williams putting him down. Zeal is quick to get to his feet and head over to the corner. He climbs the ropes and then leaps towards the downed Williams with a diving head butt, but at the last second Williams rolls to his left and Zeal hits hard on the canvas. Both men stay down for a few seconds before Williams uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet. He makes his way over to Zeal and drops a leg across the chest of him. Williams then climbs to his feet and pulls Zeal with him. He locks a front face lock in on Zeal and holds him momentarily before dropping with a DDT.)
HS: "The action is hot and heavy so far, both of these men want this match bad, and it shows. Both men appear to be ready to pull out all the stops to become the Unified Champion here at Overpower."
FJ: "Why are they still in the ring though, don't they know that you need to bury your opponent alive to win? More violence, lets see some blood!"
(It seems like Williams hears Frank as he then lifts Zeal to his feet and presses him over his head and tosses him to the outside. Zeal, still stunned from the DDT, is not able to break his fall and lands with a sickening thud on the outside. Williams laughs at the downed Zeal and then makes his way over to the corner and begins to climb the ropes. Once to the second rope he stops to taunt the crowd a bit, and after getting the reaction he was looking for climbs the rest of the way and leaps off. He tries to drive his knee into the head of Zeal, but Zeal at the last second rolls away and Williams drops knee first onto the hard arena floor. He immediately clutches his knee with a painful grimace on his face. Zeal is still down as well but starting to stir. He uses the guardrail to pull himself to his feet and looks at the still down and hurt Williams. Zeal cracks a smile and then makes his way over to the downed Williams and drops an elbow, then another. He then begins to pull him to his feet but is caught with a low blow which causes him to fall to the ground. Williams then hobbles over to Zeal and lifts him to his feet and pushes him spine first into the side of the ring. He pulls him back, does it again, then grabs his arm and hits him with a hard short clothesline causing Zeal to fall to the ground. Williams begins to make his way over to the timekeeper's table and grabs a chair. He makes his way back over to Zeal who is getting back to his feet. Williams takes a run and cracks Zeal right on top of the head with a hard chairshot.)
HS: "My god, Williams just about took Zeal’s head off with that chair!"
FJ: "That's more to my liking."
HS: "You're sick, Frank, truly sick."
(Williams. still holding the chair, looks down at the nearly unconscious Zeal. He cracks a smile before driving the top of the chair down into the stomach of Zeal. He does it again and then tosses the chair aside. He then picks Zeal up and begins to drag him toward the entry ramp. Once on the ramp Williams scoops Zeal up and body slams him down on the steel ramp. Williams then turns and fakes a swing at a fan that is leaning over taunting him. The fan jumps back and Williams starts to laugh at him momentarily before turning back to Zeal. Williams lifts Zeal back to his feet and again begins to drag him up the ramp towards the giant mound of dirt that lies just to the side of the ring side entrance. Once they reach the top of the ramp Williams looks towards the 6 foot deep hole in the ground and a smile again comes over his face.)
HS: "He requested this match and he certainly has a plan what to do with this stipulation."
(Williams begins to drag Zeal towards the mound of dirt but Zeal slips away from the grip of Williams. Williams turns around and is caught with a hard right hand, then a left. Williams swings back but Zeal ducks and follows up with a kick to the earlier injured knee of Williams, again causing Williams to drop to the ground. Zeal looks around and makes his way over to the pile of dirt beside the grave and grabs a shovel. He makes his way back to Williams who is now on all fours trying to regain a vertical basis, but Zeal takes the shovel and smashes it across the back of Williams causing him to fall back to the ground. Zeal tosses the shovel aside and drops an elbow across the chest of Williams. He then gets up and pulls Williams back to his feet. He looks at the shovel laying about 5 feet in front of him and he grabs Williams in a side headlock, then hits him with a bulldog driving his face right into the shovel. Zeal rolls over and gets back to his feet. He then grabs Williams and begins to drag him towards the hole in the ground. He stops about 5 feet from the hole and looks back to the shovel. He leaves Williams and goes over to grab the shovel before makeing his way back to Williams and laying the shovel across the back of his head. Then Zeal begins to repeatedly stomp the shovel into the back of the head of the downed Williams.)
FJ: "Wow, I didn't know Zeal had such a violent side, it almost makes me want to like him."
HS: "But Frank, the fans cheer him, you can't like him!"
FJ: "Shut up, Herb, I said almost. There wouldn't be enough shovel shots in the world to make me actually like Zeal."
HS: "Yeah, just call the match."
(Zeal stops stomping the shovel into Williams' head and tosses it to the side. He grabs Williams by the head, lifts him to his feet and pushes him back to the point that he is teetering on the edge of the hole in the ground. Zeal then grabs the shovel and looks at the dazed Williams. He then swings it hard towards the head of Williams. But at the last second Williams appears to wake up and ducks the shovel shot. He then explodes, hitting the off balance Zeal with a hard clothesline. He then climbs on top of him and begins to pound his right fist into Zeal’s face After about 5 or 6 shots he gets up and drives his elbow into the throat of Zeal. Williams gets back to his feet and begins to look around. His eyes catch the shovel and he smiles as he makes his way over and grabs it. He heads back towards Zeal, and stands over him holding the shovel with both hands. A devilish smile comes across Williams face as he lifts the shovel high, looking to drive the point of it right into the stomach of Zeal.)
HS: "He can't do that, he is going to kill him with it!"
FJ: "Oh yes, Herb, he can! In fact, I WANT him to do it! Entertain me!!"
(Williams begins to bring the shovel down but before he can get his momentum up Zeal lifts his leg and hits a low blow, causing Williams to drop the shovel and fall forward. Zeal rolls away and slowly makes his way to his feet. He then pulls Williams to his feet and hits the Joy Drop. Zeal grabs Williams and again drags him towards the grave. Once at the grave side Zeal stops and pulls Williams to his feet again and hooks him as if to go for a DDT, but Williams reverses and nails Zeal with a hard spinebuster.)
HS: "What a match! Both men are just killing each other here tonight, this is one of the best matches I have seen in some time, no matter who wins I have to give hats off to both men."
FJ: "For once I have to agree as it has been a hell of a match, and the best part is that it has been violent as hell, the only thing missing is blood."
HS: "Well, the way things are gong that may not be far off."
(Both men lay on the ground just a few feet away from the grave. Williams is first to move and get to his feet followed closely by Zeal. Zeal makes his way to Williams but is caught with a hard left followed by a right. Williams then grabs Zeal by the throat and hits a violent choke slam. Williams lifts Zeal back to his feet once more and goes to throw him into the hole, but at the last second he stops and pulls him back and cracks another smile. He then puts Zeal’s head between his legs and hits a piledriver. He rolls over and looks at the nearly out cold Zeal. He climbs to his feet and grabs the shovel that is sitting on the ground beside Zeal. He raises it high and brings it down into the face of Zeal. Zeal brings his hands up immediately to cover his face and he begins to roll in pain. Williams smiles and tosses the shovel down before grabbing Zeal, who is now bleeding from the forehead, and lifts him to his feet. He then pulls him towards the grave and holds him making him look down into the giant 6 foot hole. Williams grabs Zeal by the back of the neck and lifts him into the air, then throws him face first into the grave. Williams grabs the shovel and begins to shovel dirt onto Zeal who is unconscious in the grave. He throws a number of shovels full of dirt almost covering Zeal completely. The ref makes his way to the edge of the grave and calls for the bell!!)
HS: "It's all over, folks, Brian Williams has buried Zeal alive! My god, and he is still shovelling! Why is he doing this?"
FJ: "He told Zeal he was going to punish him and I guess that is what he is doing."
HS: "Yeah, well this is a bit much, he is going to kill him if he does not stop."
(Williams continues to shovel dirt onto the now completely covered Zeal, the whole time with a smile on his face. The crowd is a mix of boos and panic. Finally a number of officials spill from the back and grab Williams, but with his massive size he just shrugs them off and continues to shovel dirt onto Zeal. More men including the arena security make their way out, all grabbing Williams, but he once again shrugs them off and tosses another shovel full of dirt into the grave. He then stops and tosses the shovel into the grave and begins to walk down to the ring where Chairman George Slater is now waiting in the ring, holding the Hardcore and TV title belts in one hand and a briefcase in the other. Williams slides into the ring and approaches Slater. Slater, who has a mic, begins to speak.)
Slater: "Mr. Williams, you earned both these championships in a very hard fought battle. Be aware, however, that your actions after the official end of the match were appalling and I will keep an eye on your actions. I am not Travis Gray, I intend to enforce the rules around here. Anyway, you have unified the Hardcore and TV championships and therefore the Hardcore title is no more. You have done a good job at being the Hardcore Champion and I am curious to see how you will do in a regulated environment."
(Slater drops the TV and Hardcore title belts to the ground and opens the briefcase. He pulls out a brand new Television title belt, with the AWA Logo standing prominently in the middle with the words Television Champion just below it. He hands the belt to Williams who quickly snatches it from him. He turns to look over his shoulder at the men furiously working to pull Zeal out from the mound of dirt. He begins to laugh and turns to exit the ring to a rush of loud boos from the crowd.)
HS: "I don't like that Brian Williams, but he is a big, tough SOB. I would hate to be the next man to get in the ring with him, but maybe Zeal may want that honor after what just took place. All that aside, we have a new TV Champion and a brand new title belt and we all witnessed the end of the Hardcore title."
(At this point Williams has disappeared behind the curtain and the officials and medics have pulled Zeal from beneath the mound of dirt. they go to put him onto a stretcher but Zeal refuses, insisting on walking out on his own two feet. He does so to the screaming cheers of the capacity crowd.)
(We cut to "earlier today", as Low and Ramona arrive at the arena. A pretty, blonde woman in a black dress walks up to them, microphone in her hand.)
Woman: "Low! Low!"
Low: "Who the hell are you?"
Woman: "My name is Belinda and I have been hired by the American Wrestling Alliance to conduct backstage interviews during it's live shows."
Ramona: "Well, that's great, Belinda, but The Legendary Low is preparing for a very important title defense tonight, so believe it or not, he has no desire to waste his time talking to a person like you or any of these fans."
Belinda: "Well, maybe The Legendary Low can tell this to me himself."
Ramona: "Well, maybe the Queen Bitch can just kick your ass on your very first day on the job!"
(Ramona pushes Belinda out of the way and Low just stares at her, World title belt over his shoulder. We then cut to video footage detailing the long-running feud between The Fish and Whisper, going all the way back to June. We see their battles at King Of The Kage and Classic for both, the AWA Cruiserweight and TV titles. We also see Whisper unmasking Fish several times before we cut to Herb and Frank again.)
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, up next is the Dog Collar Match for the AWA Cruiserweight title. It has been four months of back and forth battles between Whisper and The Fish and tonight we will see the deciding battle in this war between two very different wrestlers."
(The arena goes black as "Whisper" plays and purple flames shoot out from the stage. Whisper walks out from the back and walks directly to the ring while the fans boo and yell at him. Whisper slides into the ring and then stares at the ramp.)
HS: "And here comes THE Cruiserweight Champion."
(Eerie music hits and the lights change to a blue tint and move in a way to make it seem that the whole arena is under water. "Trendy" by Reel Big Fish hits and the lights flash back on as water shoots from the stage and Fish dead sprints to the ring, with one end of the dog collar already around his neck and carrying the other. He slides into the ring and looks directly into Whisper's eyes before jumping to the ropes and swimming a little for the fans. Fish gets back off the rope and throws the dog collar at Whisper who hesitantly puts it on. The referee calls for the bell.)
HS: "And where underway."
(Fish gives the chain a quick tug and drops Whisper face first, giving the fans a good laugh. Before Whisper is even up he too tugs the chain and Fish stumbles to the ground. Both men get back up and Whisper charges Fish with the chain in hand. Fish moves though and hits a drop toe hold on Whisper sending him face first into the chain.)
HS: "Fish looks like he’s a little more comfortable with that chain."
FJ: " Nah, Whisper is just letting him think that."
HS: "Sure Frank."
(Fish pounces on Whisper's back and wraps the chain around his neck three times and pulls back.)
HS: "Fish is going for the quick submission here."
FJ: "The chain is around his neck, that’s not legal, DQ HIM!"
HS: "It’s legal in a dog collar match."
(In desperation Whisper reaches back and pulls on the chain increasing the pressure on Fish’s neck as well, after about three seconds of this Fish lets go of his hold and Whisper unwraps his neck, then rolls out to the floor.)
HS: "That’s not smart."
(Whisper starts arguing with a fan as Fish gets to his feet and motions to the crowd that he is going to pull the chain, which ignites a loud roar. Fish yanks the chain back hard and Whisper flies back and head first into the ring apron.)
HS: "Oh, that didn’t look like it felt too good."
FJ: "What is Whisper doing? Hit him! Hit him!"
HS: "Calm down Frank, you act like you’ve got money on the match."
FJ (in a guilty voice): "Don't be ridicilous."
(Whisper is laying on his back on the floor and Fish is setting up for a plancha. He takes a moment to rearrange the chain, then shots himself over the rope. Whisper rolls and Fish lands hard on the chain and floor.)
Hs: "That’s why they call it high risk."
(Whisper gets to his feet first and Fish gets up to his hands and knees. Whisper grabs part of the chain making a steel whip and hits Fish hard in the back wich brings him back down to his stomach. Whisper hits him another time in the back and then across the neck and head. Fish grabs his head fast and rolls around in pain. The camera gets a shot of Whisper's face who has a sadistic smile on.)
HS: "Good god! That’s just not right, Fish could be hurt!"
FJ: " Haha, do it again Whisper, do it again."
HS: "You're sick."
FJ: "The stomach flu is going around."
(Whisper picks up Fish by the chain and whips him into the steel rail back first. Whisper walks over to Fish and hits him with some chain fisted punches before picking him up and whipping him down the aisle towards the stage. Fish runs really hard and when the chain reaches its end he and Whisper fall to the ground.)
HS: "Fish just sacrificed his own body on that one, but he had to do so to stop Whisper's momentum."
(Whisper gets back to the apron and starts to climb into the ring, but before he can get all the way through the ropes Fish pulls the chain and Whisper falls back out to the floor. Fish then gets up and gets one foot inside the ropes before Whisper pulls the chain and pulls Fish out to the floor and on top of Whisper.)
HS: "Whisper should have thought that one through."
FJ: "Shut up, it’s all part of his plan."
(Both men are slow to there feet and once they reach a vertical base they go toe to toe with the chain in hand. Eventually Whisper gets the upper hand and he rolls Fish on to the apron. Whisper puts Fish between his legs but the chain looks like it is tight on Whisper's neck.)
HS: "What’s Whisper going for here?"
(Whisper picks Fish up and power bombs him into the ring but comes flying into the ring head first as well due to the chain. Although the move had impact both men get up to there feet fast and Whisper kicks Fish in the gut. Whisper grabs the chain tight and throws Fish like an Irish whip but since he is holding the chain Fish goes flying through the air and lands on his face. Whisper does this two more times.)
HS: "Good strategy by Whisper, he’s using his size to his advantage."
(Fish gets up and runs at a taunting Whisper hitting him with a floating neck breaker on the chain. Fish picks up Whisper fast and hits and exclamation point DDT on Whisper, dropping him right on his head. Fish motions to the crowd that he’s going to the top and the crowd erupts.)
HS: "This might not be too wise."
FJ: "You're right, do it!"
(Fish stands up straight on the top rope and does a gill salute. Cameras flash in anticipation of a possible Flyin’ Fish, but just as it appears that Fish is going to jump, Whisper yanks the chain that has become entangled with Fish’s leg and Fish comes down hard with the back of his head, landing on the top turnbuckle pad then tumbling to the mat. There is a hushed silence until Fish moves a little to show he’s still alive.)
FJ: "Pin him! Pin him!"
(Whisper crawls towards Fish and drapes an arm over his chest the crowd counts with the ref 1…… 2…… Fish sticks his arm straight up in the air and the crowd explodes.)
HS: "He’s alive, He’s alive."
(Whisper can’t believe it and he literally starts pulling out his blue hair. Whisper throws Fish up into the corner with one fluent motion and starts chopping him with the chain. Fish winces in pain every time, but after the third chain chop Fish ducks under the chain while grabbing the other side and starts pulling Whisper by the neck up on his back choking him out. Whisper kicks his legs frantically before he walks up the turn buckle still on Fish’s back and flips over landing in a DDT on Fish. Fish hits and bounces around.)
FJ: "Like a fish out of water."
(Both men lay motionless and then Fish rolls over and tries to cover Whisper, but in a burst of energy Whisper jumps up and elbows Fish with the chain right on the head.)
HS: "What instincts by Whisper."
FJ: "That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you."
HS: "No, it..."
FJ: "Shhhh, watch the match."
(Whisper picks up Fish and tries to whip him into the ropes but Fish counters and Whisper bounces off the far ropes and when he comes back to the center he is met by a calf kick cross body by Fish. The chain pulls both of them awkwardly on this exchange but nevertheless Fish is on top of Whisper so the ref counts 1… 2… Whisper meekly kicks out and it looks like the end might be near for Whisper. Fish motions to the crowd that he is going to go for a DSD and the fans actually start chanting the name of the move. Fish picks Whisper up but while Whisper is underneath Fish he grabs the chain that was wrapped around Fish’s neck during the last move and pulls. After only a few seconds of fighting Whisper's arms, Fish’s neck gives up and he falls forward on the verge of blacking out. Thinking quickly Whisper turns and hooks in a modified STF with the chain still wrapped around Fish’s neck.)
FJ: "Someone get Fish a glass of water, he’s suffocating, haha."
HS: "...Fish has to get to the rope or we’re going to have a new Cruiserweight Champion."
(Fish is fading fast and it would appear that he is out. The ref goes over and lifts the Fish’s arm, it falls and he shows everyone the number one. The crowd is clapping in unison and chanting Fish to try and wake the superhero up. The ref lifts Fish’s hand again and again it falls. While the ref shows everyone the number two the chants and claps get louder and we see Whisper mouth the words, "Shut Up." The ref goes back down to a knee and lifts the Fish’s hand one more time, the arm falls with in an inch of the mat then we see that he is is with us and he shakes his hand up and down as the crowd just gets louder. Fish lifts up his left arm and gets a hold of Whisper's neck. Fish manages to snapmare Whisper over and out of the ring. Whisper’s neck is wrenched horribly as he hits the floor and Fish is pulled on top of the bottom rope. Both men lay exhausted and hurt.)
HS: "What a reversal by Fish, but both men look out."
(Whisper gets up first holding his neck. He climbs to the apron and pulls Fish up to his feet. The chain is still hung in between the bottom and middle rope so there isn’t much room for the two to move. Both men have the same idea though as they wrap the chain around their fists and begin punching each other back and fourth. After a few punches red can be seen running down Whisper's forehead and seeping through Fish’s mask. Whisper goes for another punch but Fish dunks and runs as fast as his war torn body will allow and hops over the rope and down to the floor ramming Whispers head in to the turnbuckle at the other end of the ring. Whisper rests on the ropes and Fish manages to pull him through the ropes and down to the floor in front of the announce table. Fish picks up Whisper and rolls him onto the Spanish announce table.)
FJ: "What’s that idiot doing over here?"
HS: "Retaining his title."
(Fish and Whisper are both exhausted and it shows. Fish points straight up in the air motioning for something and the crowd tries to help him along. Fish picks up Whisper for a Vertebreaker and it appears that simply standing in that position is choking the life out of them. Fish jumps and nails the move as the table collapses. Fish and Whisper lay breathing hard and beaten on top of each other.)
HS: "Fish calls that the Fin-isher!"
FJ: "How creative."
(Both men lay for over a minute on the floor and then Fish slowly makes his way to his feet. He pulls the chain and Whisper is forced to his feet. They weakly battle back into the ring then out of nowhere Whisper dropkicks Fish and brings him into the corner. He then climbs the turnbuckle with Fish.)
FJ: "He’s going to go for the Silencer! It’s over, Whisper’s going to win!"
HS: "Don’t speak too soon."
(Fish punches Whisper a few times and Whisper falls down to the ring but lands on his feet. Fish quickly wraps the chain around Whisper’s neck and hooks in a dragon sleeper. He makes a cut throat action and flips over Whisper nailing the Fish Attack! Whisper lands unusually hard right on his head and Fish drapes an arm over Whisper. The ref and every Fish Fanatic in the building make the count. 1.......... 2.......... 3! The ref raises Fish’s lifeless hand and unlocks the two competitors.)
HS: "Fish and Whisper just wrestled their hearts out in a brutal dog collar match! What a fitting way to end a truly classic feud!"
FJ: "Herb, even I have to give Fish credit for this one. He won the deciding battle and in the process retains his AWA Cruiserweight title."
("Trendy" hits and Brute comes running out from the back. He grabs the Cruiserweight title and hands it to Fish. He helps him up to his feet and out of the ring as the fans cheer them on.)
HS: "We just witnessed the deciding battle between The Fish and Whisper for the AWA Cruiserweight title. The two men we are going to see next will have their second match, and it will be their first one for the AWA World Heavyweight title. Let's take you back in time to see what transpired between Adam Bawm and The Legendary Low."
(Video footage starts playing of the first match between Low and Adam Bawm. We also see a couple of scenes of battles involving Low, Drake Hyde and The Enforcers. We then fast forward to King Of The Kage and Low's World title victory over Mortis Valley. Then we see clips of Bawm's win over Dave Santini at Classic, followed by clips of Bawm and Low brawling at various shows during the following weeks. The video package ends with Adam Bawm staring at a laughing Low pouring beer out over Kelly Gunns.)
FJ: "Well, this will be quite a fight."
HS: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have just been informed that in order to avoid constant outside AND violence against females, the chairman of the board, George Slater, has announced that neither Ramona A. Stone nor Kelly Gunns will be allowed at ringside.
FJ: "Too bad. Nothing against a good catfight."
("Time Bomb" by Godsmack begins to play and the crowd erupts in loud cheers as Adam Bawm makes his way down the ramp. He slaps a few Adamaniacs' hands on his way down. He steps inside the ring and poses for the crowd.)
Ring Announcer: "Ladies and gentlemen, this contest is for the AWA World Heavyweight championship. It is scheduled for one fall. In the ring, standing 6'10" and weighing 305 pounds, from Charlotte, North Carolina, presenting the challenger... "The Nuclear Nautilus" ADAM BAWM!"
HS: "Adam Bawm is 8 inches taller than Low and is 50 pounds heavier. Also, he is almost 3 years younger..."
FJ: "And also a lot lighter when it comes to gold here in the AWA."
("Time Bomb" is fading out and the cheers turn into boos as "Weeping Wall" by David Bowie starts playing. Low comes out from the back and looks into the crowd. The boos become even louder as Low takes the World title belt off his waist and holds it high into the air with his right hand. He then makes his way down the ramp and climbs into the ring.)
Ring Announcer: "His opponent, from New York City, New York, standing 6'2" and weighing 255 pounds, here is the AWA World Heavyweight Champion, THE LEGENDARY LOW!"
FJ: "Haha, listen to the crowd, they really hate him!"
HS: "Overpower 2002 was the last pay-per-view Low appeared on before taking a 7 month hiatus from the AWA. He returned this spring and has had success that is comparable to his 2001 success. Adam Bawm on the other side is one of the fastest rising newcomers in AWA history. He bounced back from a serious losing streak and is now rightfully the number one contender to the AWA World title."
(Low hands the belt over to the referee who holds it into the air to the cheers of the fans before handing it to a ring attendant and signalling for the bell to ring. The match has officially started. Low and Bawm each take a few steps into the middle of the ring until they stand only a few inches away from each other. They start trash-talking each other, with Bawm apparently more successful as Low stops talking and has anything but a happy look on his face, whereas Bawm manages a smile. Suddenly, however, Low's silence is broken and he slaps Adam Bawm right across the face.)
FJ: "Ouch!"
HS: "This might have been the first mistake by Low Bawm was talking about."
(Bawm doesn't look too phased, however, and responds with a crushing right to Low's head that immediately send the Champion to the mat. Low is quickly up on his feet and shoves Bawm. Bawm responds by shoving Low as well, yet the result is a different one, as Low finds himself on the mat again.)
HS: "And the difference in strength and size already comes into play."
(Low jumps to his feet and the two lock up, but Bawm gets the advantage, pushing Low against the ropes. A clean break is followed by an Irish whip from Bawm. He goes for a clothesline but Low ducks and ends up behind Bawm. He tries for an early German suplex, but Bawm hits a few elbows to Low's head. He then spins around the Champion, locks his hands around Low's waist and hits a released German suplex. Low holds the back of his head and rolls out of the ring.)
FJ: "Great suplex by Bawm, but Low shows that he is the more experienced man by rolling out of the ring."
HS: "Low knows exactly how to dictate the pace of a match and right now he slows it down."
(Low walks around the ring, but Bawm isn't far behind. Low quickly rolls back into the ring and as Bawm follows him he is met by a series of kicks to the head. Low with an Irish whip and a hip toss attempt, however Bawm holds on, knees Low into the stomach, switches positions and does a hip toss of his own. Low quickly gets to his feet again and charges Bawm, but Bawm catches Low, spins him around and hits an impressive tilt-a-whirl-backbreaker. Low is holding his back but Bawm pulls him back up. He hoists him high into the air in a gorilla press, presses him up a few times and then just drops him right behind himself. Low once again rolls out of the ring.)
FJ: "Smart, smart, very smart."
HS: "Come on, Frank, face it, Low has no idea how to deal with a 7-footer at this point."
FJ: "I don't think... wait, what's this all about?"
(Suddenly we see Brian Williams making his way down the ramp to the boos of the fans. He walks around the side of the ring where Low isn't standing as both competitors look at him.)
HS: "What is he doing here?"
FJ: "Just scouting the opposition, Herb, nothing else."
(Williams takes a chair and sits down right next to timekeeper's table. Adam Bawm walks over to the ropes and starts yelling at Williams. Low, however, seizes the opportunity and hits a nasty martial arts kick into Bawm's back. He then picks Bawm up and hits a nice belly-to-back suplex. A cover only gets 1, though. Low pulls Bawm up by his hair and Irish whips him into the ropes. As Bawm rebounds Low picks him and spins around in a quick spinebuster. Low again pulls Bawm up and tries to go for a German suplex again, but Bawm wraps his own leg around Low's leg and holds on. He once again hits a series of elbows to Low's head and then spins around. He hooks Low's head and goes for a vertical suplex, but Low is able to shuffle his weight and get to the ground again. Low now wraps his arms around Bawm and tries a Northern lights suplex, but Bawm holds on once again. He hits several knees to Low's chest, still hooking his head under his arm and then drops backwards into a DDT. Bawm covers and gets 1..... 2.....
and a kickout.)
HS: "Nice reversal sequence here by both men."
(Both are back up and Bawm nails Low with a standing clothesline, then a second, but a third one misses when Low is able to duck and sneak around Bawm. Low hits a double-axe handle into Bawm's back and Bawm actually drops to one knee. Low follows up with a series of kicks to the back until Bawm is on all fours. Low takes a few steps back and then kicks Bawm right into the ribs.)
FJ: "I told you he is so smart. Now Bawm doesn't have that size advantage, plus Low is softening his back up for the Low Profile."
HS: "Well, apparently Low has found a way to deal with Bawm, at least for the time being."
(Low drops an elbow on Bawm's back, then a second one and a third one. Bawm is now flat on his stomach, but Low wastes no time and locks in an STF. Bawm, however, uses his size to his full advantage and reaches out for the bottom rope. He grabs it and the referee starts counting. Low releases the hold at the count of 3. He pulls Bawm up by his hair, grabs around his waist, lifts Bawm up and finally hits the German suplex.)
FJ: "Whoa, he finally did it, he hit a German suplex on the much larger Adam Bawm!"
HS: "Impressive feat there by Low, but he needs to capitalize on it."
(And Low tries just that by going for the Low Profile, but Bawm suddenly reaches up and grabs Low's throat with his right hand. Low immediately drops Bawm's legs and while the referee tells Bawm to release the choke he slowly makes his way up to his feet. He very briefly releases the choke only to break the hold, but then grabs Low's throat again with both his hands. He lifts him up and holds him for a few seconds before slamming him down to the mat. Low crawls over to the ropes and slowly pulls himself up. Bawm rests a bit, but as soon as Low turns around Bawm starts running and nails Low with a big boot. Cover gets 1..... 2..... but Low drapes his leg over the bottom rope. Bawm now whips Low into the corner and follows him with a running clothesline and then an overhead chop... Whoooo!... a second one... Whoooo!... a third one... Whoooo!... a fourth one... Whoooo!... and then finally, a fifth one... Whoooo!)
FJ: "I wonder why Bawm is able to get his voice that high."
HS: "Please, stop it."
(Bawm then reaches around Low and lifts him up, delivering a huge overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Low is surprisingly quick on his feet again, though, and immediately bounces off the ropes. He goes for a shoulder block, but it is Low who finds himself on the mat again. Low goes for a shoulder block again, but this time Bawm counters with a sleeper hold.)
HS: "Now Bawm is the smart one, cutting off Low's breath with that sleep...
FJ: "...ILLEGAL CHOKE HOLD!"
HS: "Would you stop screaming?"
FJ: "WHY?"
HS: "BECAUSE MY EARS HURT!"
FJ: "Oh... sorry."
HS: "Look, Low starts freeing himself with a couple of elbows to Bawm's ribs."
(Indeed Low has almost escaped the sleeper hold, but suddenly Bawm lifts Low up, still in the sleeper position and slams him flat on his back.)
HS: "The Billion Dollar Move!"
FJ: "Bawm with a cover! One..... Two..... but Low kicks out!"
(Bawm now sets Low up as if for a vertical suplex, but instead he lifts Low up and quickly slams him to the match with a jackhammer. Bawm covers and gets 1..... 2..... and a kick out. Bawm briefly argues with the referee. Low tries to use the opportunity to crawl out of the ring, but Bawm is quickly there and pulls Low back by his pants, exposing his white butt!)
FJ: "Yikes!"
HS: "Ugh, I never ever wanted to see THAT! One would think a man with Low's financial resources could afford a tanning bed."
FJ: "It isn't good for your skin anyway."
(Low obviously decides NOT to crawl out of the ring and instead is up on his feet again. Bawm sends Low into the ropes, then catches him, picks him up and drops him on his knee with an inverted atomic drop. He lifts Low up once again and hits a second inverted atomic drop. Bawm lifts Low up for a third time, but this time he takes a few steps back, starts running and then drops Low with even more force with a third inverted atomic drop. Low is hoklding his crotch, his face a grimace of pain. He has no time to rest, however, as Bawm hits him with another running big boot. Low is flat on his back and Bawm seizes the opportunity to apply the Core as the fans cheer him loudly and start screaming "Adam, Adam".)
FJ: "No, no, NO, not the Core!"
HS: "Adam Bawm has locked in his submission finisher and Low is screaming in pain!"
FJ: "That's unfair, Bawm is a 7-footer!"
(Low is trying to reach the ropes, but he is too far removed from them. Instead he starts yanking back on Bawm's ankle, finally causing the challenger to lose his balance and fall on his face. Low, while exhausted, is relatively quick, gets up and applies the Low Profile. Now Bawm is the one screaming in pain while Low is screaming from exhaustion, pulling back on Bawm's legs with all his strength. However, Bawm is able to power his upper body up and push his legs back. Low has no choice but to break the hold, as he is the one almost losing his balance now. Low looks frustrated and yells at the cheering crowd while Bawm slowly makes his way up. Just as Bawm is standing again Low drops down to his knees right behind Bawm and sends his arm up right between Bawm's legs.)
HS: "Low blow! Now he has to resort to these tactics!"
FJ: "What's your problem, Herb? He IS Low, so shouldn't he allowed to blow as well?........ Ummmm, wait a second, I didn't mean to say that."
(Bawm is back on all fours while the referee warns Low not to repeat this. Low waves him off and turns towards the crowd as the referee turns to check on Bawm. Suddenly, though, Low walks right behind the referee and nails a bionic elbow right onto the ref's head! Low then spins the ref around and delivers a Low Stunner!)
HS: "What a sorry piece of human..."
FJ: "Hey, he just tries to keep his title!"
(The crowd boos loudly now, but Low doesn't care. He climbs out of the ring and walks over to where Brian Williams is still calmly watching the match. Low pushes the timekeeper off his chair and then warns Williams not to get involved in his business. Low takes the chair and returns inside the ring, where Bawm is struggling to get up again. Low raises the chair over his head and aims at Bawm, but Bawm quickly counters with yet another big boot, this time right into the chair, causing the chair to smash right on Low's head. The crowd cheers this wildly, yet the referee is still KO, so Bawm tries to revive him. As Low is on all fours we see quite a lot of blood dropping down his head and into a puddle onto the mat. But Low is able to stand again. He walks over to Bawm and the referee, grabs Bawm by the tights and sends him over the top rope.)
HS: "Oh no, look at this."
FJ: "Haha, that Low..."
HS: "Bawm's head was somehow caught between the top and the middle rope and now he is hung!"
FJ: "How do you know, Herb?"
HS: "Pervert, pervert, pervert!"
(Bawm's try to revive the referee was somewhat successful as he is slowly getting up and shaking his head. Low has other plans, though, and drops an elbow right onto the ref's head. He then picks up the chair again and nails Bawm right across the head, immediately splitting him open as well.)
HS: "Damn that Low! This was a good back and forth match and now he has turned it into a bloody free-for-all!"
FJ: "Yeah, he finally does what he does be- wait a moment..."
(Suddenly we see George Slater coming down the ramp with another referee right behind. He has a microphone in his hand.)
Slater: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Go, get Bawm out of the ropes."
(The referee runs over to Bawm and helps him free himself. Low just stares at them and then at Slater. We see a brief shot of Brian Williams who seems to be just as interested as Low and the crowd to see what Slater wants.)
Slater: "You know, Low, I could easily disqualify you for your actions, strip you of the title and suspend you."
(The crowd reaction is mixed.)
Slater: "But that would mean ripping the crowd off and my name is not Travis Gray. But I won't allow you to abuse my officials like that. So, I will help the original referee to the back, but the new referee will now officiate this match."
(Slater walks over to the original referee, who is slowly regaining his conscience again. Bawm is sitting in a corner, his face just as covered in blood as Low's is. Slater makes his way back up the ramp, assisting the referee, when he suddenly turns around and speaks into his microphone again.)
Slater: "Oh, and by the way, if you want to make this match a bloody affair, then you have your chance to elaborate your plan now, because this match has just become a Street Fight! And if you attack any of my officials again or anybody interferes in this match, I'll strip you of your title and send you home without pay!"
(The fans explode in cheers and Bawm starts smiling. Low, on the other hand, has climbed to the second turnbuckle and just yells at Slater.)
HS: "Yes, that's what he deserves."
FJ: "Low, look out!"
(While Low is still busy yelling at Slater, Bawm has come up from behind with a forearm right onto Low's back. He lifts Low up by his arms and then sends him down with a crushing crucified power bomb. He then picks the chair up and waits for Low to stand up. Of course, this takes some time and Bawm uses this time to briefly communicate with the fans and to rest his worn-down body. As Low turns around he is met with a hard chair shot.)
FJ: "Ouch!"
HS: "A chairshot heard around the world! The chair has wrapped itself around Low's neck. But it's all legal now and Low has brought it unto himself."
(Low is down and out and Bawm climbs out of the ring. He briefly points his finger at Williams, but then starts looking under the ring. The fans cheers get even louder as he takes out a table which he slides into the ring. Bawm needs some time, as he is exhausted as well, but he finally has put the table up. He then pulls Low up by his hair and throws the chair, that was still hanging around Low's neck, out of the ring. He puts Low on top of the table and follows up with a series of right fists right to Low's head. Then he starts climbing the ropes.)
FJ: "Bawm is insane!"
HS: "Almost 7 foot tall, over 300 pounds, and the man has just climbed to the top rope!"
(Bawm readies himself and briefly looks into the crowd. He jumps off and goes for a flying elbow, but Low is able to roll off the table and Bawm is the one crashing through the table! The fans "oooooh" and "aaaaah", while Bawm seems to be out cold. Low slowly slides out of the ring and walks over to the timekeeper. He takes the World title belt and throws it into the ring, then slides back in himself. Low now drapes the belt over his shoulder the way he sometimes carries it during his entrance. Low then pulls the bleeding Bawm up by his hair, kicks him into the groin and then hits the Low Stunner with the title belt still on his shoulder. Low hooks the leg and covers for 1..... 2..... 3! Low retains the World title.)
HS: "No, Low retains the title!"
FJ: "Yes, yes, yes, Low is still OUR World Champion!"
HS: "Low has found a way one more time, but I have a feeling this feud is long from over."
(While Low still celebrates with his title belt, Brian Williams throws a microphone into the ring and then slides in himself. He walks over to Adam Bawm, laces up his ankles, reaches around for a sleeper hold and applies The Struggle Within!)
HS: "This is totally unneccessary! Call him Death Angel or Brian Williams, he's still the same despicable person."
(After about a minute or so, Williams releases the hold and grabs the microphone.)
Williams: "Bawm, I told you to stay out of business. But no, your ego got so big that you just couldn't. You had to challenge me. You had to make me PROVE that you will always be second-best to Brian Williams!"
(Williams drops the microphone and turns to leave the ring, but as soon as he turns around Low smashes the chair right over Williams' head, dropping the huge TV Champion to the mat. "Weeping Wall" starts playing and Low raises the World title belt high over his head before leaving the ring and walking up the ramp, where Ramona A. Stone is already waiting for him with a bottle of champagne in her hand.)
HS: "I hate Low! I hate him for his tactics, I hate him for that manager, I hate him for his arrogance and I hate him for his decadence! And Brian Williams is just as despicable, playing games with all of us for months and taking the TV title from a man who truly deserved in, and here I said it again, despicable fashion! And I am out of here!"
(With that, Herb throws down his headset and leaves the announce table. In the ring, Bawm is holding his back, while Williams is starting to make his way up with an angry expression on his face.)
FJ: "Ummm, Herb? HERB? I don't know how to end this thing! HERB!! Ummm, yeah, well, ugh, fans, we, ugh, had a, well, a ummm, nice night, I'd say and we've seen a lot of wrestling and, yeah, ummm... good night!"
(Frank throws his headset down as well and leaves the table as the AWA copyright image appears on the screen and we fade to black.)
